Great question!
First of all, I am sold on the Valentine's Day wedding theory... In which case, perhaps My Funny Valentine would be a perfectly appropriate choice? 💝

The Thursday Night Telly Club’s Christmas Party is sadly over 🥳 and after watching (here we go) the Series 2 CS on BBC IPlayer or the beginning of series 3 on the CDs. Or for the sake of peace at Christmas let’s just say the Turnadette wedding episode.
Anyway what all members do agree on is both songs played as Shelagh’s walk down the aisle, knowing exactly where she is going, are just completely substandard (I came up with so many words, I’m am so impressed with this one)
So, what song would you have preferred our beautiful Scottish bride to walk down the aisle toward every one’s favourite GP to?
After a lot of intense research over many years I do believe the Turners wed on Valentine’s Day 1959. I am usually a stickler for accuracy, but it is Christmas and fun and out of context contributions are welcome too.

Amen Rocky. You and I are on the same page with our disgruntlement over the last…oh, 4-5 series? 🤦🏼♀️ Too many characters, too many storylines not given the chance (as Birdy once said) to breathe and develop properly Bc of time constraints. Honestly the best scenes last night were within the train car.
I too was surprised how we went from Shelagh sobbing on her knees to just smiles and laughing with Patrick in his bed. I thought there would’ve been some scene showing her relief that both Patrick and sister julienne were alive. Maybe Shelagh running out as they were about to load them onto the ambulance, crying tears of relief and joy, and - gasp - squeezing his hand, since that’s the only physical contact we can get these days. Or saying “I love you” since we’ve actually never heard them say those words to each other??? (Yet we heard them between Matthew and Trixie????). Remember the running joke in S3 and 4 when we all kept waiting for a kiss on the lips because Patrick only kissed her hand or forehead? Oh, how far we’ve regressed! What we wouldn’t give now for a kiss on the hand between these two….and last night we didn’t even get hand HOLDING. 😭😭😭😭😭
And her just sitting there while Patrick said all he saw was the darkness of their house and her while on the train??? Even THEN she couldn’t hold one of his hands??? Or put a hand on his leg?? SOMETHING to show comfort and affection? I just can’t understand the inconsistencies of the stupid Covid protocols. Why was it that Audrey and Derek Fleming could kiss on the lips and Trixie and Matthew could get close enough to pretend to kiss, if the protocols were so strict? My guess is Stephen and Heidi are super paranoid about Covid and Heidi wants to avoid Stephen bringing any germs home so she insists that he keep 6ft apart with the most minimal contact possible. Well, I’m sorry but you can be more creative with character interactions then. Not have it look like one of them has leprosy.
Re: the choppiness - somehow this series was a tiny improvement over last season. There are too many characters and too much trying to squeeze everyone in. And every time I see Violet Buckle open her mouth, the more I resent her existence simply because having to give her scenes takes away from the main cast members. She’s one who really has never added anything to the show, and while I do like Reggie, adding those two into Fred’s life just means everyone gets an even smaller piece of the pie. I realized there’s never been a character on CTM that I haven’t liked, which is kudos to Heidi for creating such great characters. But if I had to choose one I could do without, it’s hands down Violet. She’s just taking time away from other characters.
And while I’m ranting, I resent the fact that Shelagh hasn’t had a single interaction with Sister Monica Joan since I believe S7 with her cataracts surgery. Patrick has had more scenes with her, Cyril has had dozens of scenes with her. It just irks me that these two who lived together as sisters for years and who both love Sister Julienne don’t have any scenes together at all - not even a hi how ya doing. The Turner kids are a total waste and just there for the cuteness factor but I would love a chance to see the kids with Sister MJ the way they were in the CS or the way Angela helped blow out her SMJ’s cake candles in S7. Covid doesn’t help. I also need to see Teddy within arm’s reach of sister julienne, even if it’s to hand him something - it can be small. Like the way she held Angela in her lap at the Ball of Hope. My poor Teddy bear is wasted and Dangit he is special to Sister Julienne and I need something similar between them, but I doubt it will happen and the ideal time would’ve been when Teddy was smaller 😭😭😭 I still want that deleted scene of Shelagh with baby Teddy in sister julienne’s office discussing helping out when Barbara is I’ll.
I’ve gone totally off the rails in my complaining. But I hear ya Rocky. There’s a reason most of the original tumblr turnadette crowd have disappeared the last 4 to 5 years. We’ve both bowed out when the show looked bleak but find ourselves back here. 🤦🏼♀️ I guess we are gluttons for punishment? Or still holding out hope things will get better, I guess. In the meantime, hopefully there will be fanfic to fill in the horrible gaps.
Sister Bernadette and Dr T had more touches in one episode then the whole of series 10 and 11
