a gempearl siren au inspired by chappell roan’s casual mv.

pearl is a burnt-out artist who returned to her hometown by the seaside because of her brother, grian, who said they badly needed a getaway from the stressful, bustling city life. during their stay, there was news about fishermen missing, which isn’t new to the siblings—they lost their parents the same way. grian always said it’s because of sirens, which is funny to hear from a marine biologist, though pearl knows deep down that her brother’s worries weren’t groundless.  OR gem is a siren who spotted her easiest catch, a lone woman who frequented the shore with her canvas, but she never expected she’d be the one to become lured in by her.

— that’s all i’m going to share for now! also this au is very loosely based on wild life :) hopefully i can add more onto this in the future (because it’s gnawing on my brain. I NEED IT OUT)

I was rereading a fic of mine and GAH I was reminded of an idea. that neither logan nor creed in x men evo have ever smelled a cub. like!

logan obvs has his cubs in the x kids but they arent cub cubs. they smell different.

and i like the idea that the smell of a young feral cub mutant absolutely locks up creed and logan if they smell it.

their in the middle of a brawl and the breeze changes so that they smell a cub. they both freeze up and short circuit.
