Rug has “low tuft” appearance…typical for inexpensive astro turf. Edges have matching color binding which would eliminate any raveling and rough edges. Would not recommend cutting it…you could…but you would no longer have the benefit of the binding. Have not noticed any color changes after two weeks exposure to intense sun 6-8 hrs per day. So far so good.

The 8 x 12 rug was simply a piece of green indoor-outdoor carpet cut to that size with raw edges — pulling on the cut edge makes it unravel. It had no binding around the edges. The backing is black rubber. It’s a completely different product that’s not nearly as nice or well constructed.
