After a long day of running around Disney and basking in the joy of baby number 2, you were all back at your hotel. You couldn't have asked for a better day, catching Joeâs gaze from time to time as he had a hard time taking his eyes off of your sonâs hat embroidered with the words âbig brotherâ. You found it hard to keep your own composure all day, feeling a massive weight lifted from your shoulders now that the secret was out. The day went by in a flash and before you knew it, you were walking out the gates, your son falling asleep in your arms as you made your way to the car.                                                                                                                                           Â
You were all showered, finally laying in bed when Joe came back into your room from getting your son settled for the night in the connected suite. You were grateful he took the job on tonight, your legs feeling like jello from all of the walking you had done. You were no athlete and running after a toddler was no joke. He crept in, closing the door quietly behind him to not disturb you. He shot you a small smile before slipping his t-shirt over his head. Your heart swelled at the sight of him, feeling so full of joy and the small family you were creating together. He came over to you, placing a soft kiss to the top of your head.Â
âOut like a light,â Joe said, emphasizing his words with a gesture of his hands.
You giggled, his hand stroking lightly against your head. You let your eyes close softly, enjoying the moment. You sighed softly when Joe slipped his hand from your hair.
âIâm gonna take a quick shower and Iâll hop into bed with you,â Joe said, his voice low and tired.
âOkay, I could use some more of those when you get back here though,â you replied with a similar tone.
He kissed your lips gently before leaning further to place a kiss to your stomach. As if your heart couldnât get any fuller, the sight before made it explode with love. Joe was such an amazing dad, like you knew he would be.
âI canât believe we're gonna have another one, it feels like just yesterday you told me the first time.â
âI had a bit of prep time for that one, I had to get really creative this time since someone would get suspicious otherwise,â you joked, knowing how nosey Joe could be.
Joe laughed lightly as he walked towards the bathroom, âalways keeping me on my toes huh?â
âJust doing my jobâ you said with a laugh, shaking your head.
While Joe was showering, your mind drifted back to that day that you told Joe he was going to be a dad.
Flashback
It was yours and Joeâs first Valentines together as a married couple and you planned to make it a memorable one. Youâd spent a lazy morning together, basking in each other's touch with all of the time in the world. Some remained innocent, others not so much. The craziness that came along with Joeâs job as well as the holiday led you both opting for a romantic night in rather than fighting against the public eye. Joe wanted to cook for you, provide you with the ârestaurant experience at home, but make it with loveâ. He always did like to go above and beyond.
It took some convincing, but Joe agreed to go out and get the ingredients for dinner tonight. He was reluctant to leave you, but you assured him things could continue when he got home. You wanted a little time to get ready and surprise him even if you were staying in. With him out of the house to run some errands before tonight, you had a small window to get everything done that you wanted to. Little did he know you had your own surprise up your sleeve, though it wasnât really up your sleeve literally.Â
Youâd been feeling sick the past few days, having a gut feeling you knew why. You and Joe werenât necessarily trying for a kid, but you also werenât not. You wanted it to happen when it happened. The timeline seemed to fit, your next period being late which was a rarity for you at any other given time. Joe was always aware of your cycle, being able to track things better than you ever have. If your gut instincts were correct, youâd have to find a way to tell him ASAP or heâd know something was off.
You took a few tests you had on hand and sure as shit, you were pregnant. Tears of joy immediately filled your eyes, an indescribable feeling settling deep within you as you placed your hand against your stomach. You had always wanted to be a mom and now you got to have a child with the man of your dreams. Tears spilled down your cheeks at the thought of Joe being a dad. You couldnât wait to tell him, not that you were ever good at keeping a secret regardless. You wanted to do something special though and what better day than the cliche day all about love.
You racked your brain with how you would tell him, wanting to plan the perfect surprise. You had picked up a few possible ideas for gifts to have on hand before you made a final choice. You knew you wanted it to be after dinner, no matter how much the wait would pain you. You grabbed a small gift bag from downstairs and got to planning.Â
You put the test in first, knowing he would want to see it for himself if he didnât get to be there in the moment. You had also ordered a custom onesie with ânewest Bengals fanâ embroidered on it when you first found out as a possible option. You figured he would find the idea cute as well, having expressed his excitement in the past. You finished it off with a card, a usual for each important day you guys shared, the difference being you had written in it the day you found out you were pregnant.
Feeling satisfied with your gift, you tucked it away where he wouldnât be able to find it and peek. Your next step was setting up and decorating downstairs. You cleared the table and set it with two place settings, placing a few candles in the middle of the table for some mood lighting. You laid out a few things you knew Joe would need and wanted to make thighs a bit easier for him. When you felt that everything was to your satisfaction, you headed upstairs to get ready.
You had gotten a special lingerie set for tonight, slipping the red lacy number underneath your dress. It was a dainty two piece made of satin and lace, two of Joeâs favorites. The element of surprise with these types of things always drove Joe wild, being able to tell a set was new based on feeling alone. It wouldnât be long after that he would take your clothes off to get a look at what you had picked out just for him this time.Â
You curled your hair into loose waves, applying a light bit of makeup before deeming yourself happy with how you looked. You heard the door close downstairs, signally Joe was home. You felt a pit of excitement and nerves settle in your stomach. You had to take a few deep breaths, needing to manage your composure for a little while longer, wanting to wait for after dinner.Â
You padded down the stairs, taking in the few decorations Joe had added to your ensemble. There was a beautiful bouquet of flowers in the middle of the table that he had placed in your favorite vase, the candles lit that provided a warm glow to the room. The kitchen smelled amazing as he cooked dinner. You walked to meet Joe in the kitchen, his eyes flicking up from the ingredients in front of him to meet your eyes.
âYou look gorgeous, sweetheart,â Joe spoke while pulling your body into his embrace. Your arms fell naturally around his neck as you took him in.
âYou clean up pretty well yourself, Joey,â you said as you took in his appearance.Â
He mustâve gotten ready down here while you were upstairs. He had on a white collared shirt with some black slacks. It was simple, but he could make anything look amazing. He had the sleeves of his shirt pushed up to his elbows and your thoughts turned to any, but innocent.
âGo have a seat at the table and Iâll have dinner ready soon,â Joe said sweetly with a hint of lust in his voice.Â
It was as if he could read your mind, his own thoughts wandering just as much as his gaze raked up and down your body. He brought you in for a kiss, placing a soft tap on your ass before turning back to the task at hand. You obliged with no questions asked, needing to keep a bit of distance if you wanted things to go according to your plan. Joe came to join you shortly after, bringing over a delicious smelling meal. Your stomach rumbled at the sight, excited to dive in together.
Conversation at dinner remained light, catching up on each other's days and reminiscing over memories together. Soft and suggestive touches were exchanged, your hand on his forearm or his grazes to your thigh. It was nice to spend such intimate time like this together, enjoying the slowness of the offseason for once. Dinner was delicious, devouring your plates singing Joeâs praises about his cooking. You worked together to clean up, blowing out the candles on the table and bringing the dishes to the kitchen.
After clearing the table, you settled on the couch to exchange your gifts with one another. Joe tucked you into his side, his need to have you touching him in some way evident in this moment. Your heart felt like it was beating a mile a minute, hoping the flush you felt creeping up your cheeks wasnât noticeable.Â
Joe insisted that you open his gift first, grateful to not have to push for that option. It would give you a second to calm down. You took the small wrapped box from his hands, a red bow tied delicately on the top. You pulled at the end, the bow slipping undone and revealing the top of the box.Â
He had gotten you a gorgeous necklace, gesturing for you to spin around to clasp the delicate chain around your neck. You took the moment to take a deep breath, knowing this would be the moment your lives would change forever. You quickly fiddled with your phone while turned, setting it up to face Joe in hopes to get his reaction.
You unwrapped yourself from Joeâs body and stood to get your bag from its hiding spot. You handed it over to him, sitting back a bit to be sure that Joe was in the frame. You had to hold your emotions back until he opened everything.
âRead the card last this time,â you said as evenly as you could manage.
Luckily Joe obliged, even though he gave you a look of confusion. He pulled the tissue paper from the top of the bag, removing the card as well. He looked down at the clothing in the bag and took it out as if you had gotten him a new shirt. He began to unfold it, even more confused when there was barely any fabric. You watched at the look of realization set into his features as he read what it said.Â
He looked at you in disbelief, the small onesie clutched in his hands. Tears immediately welled up in his eyes. He looked down into the bag and saw the test, the words âpregnantâ standing out against the bottom of the bag. When he looked back at you, there were streaks of tears that made their way down his cheeks, his body fighting back sobs.
âAre you serious? Because this would be a horrible prank to play on me right now,â Joe said as his voice wavered.
All you could do was nod in that moment, not trusting your voice as your own tears of joy streaming down your cheeks. He moved quickly, tracking you onto the sofa in a bear hug. You both let out cries of joy at your newfound titles. The reality of it all setting in for you now that you didnât have to keep it a secret any longer.
âOh my god, Iâm gonna be a dad,â Joe whispered out as you locked eyes together while wiped the streaks of tears from your cheeks.
âYouâre also gonna be amazing Joey,â you whispered back, stroking the tears from his face.
You both laid there for a while, basking in the moment wrapped up in each other.
âI really canât believe it. I didnât know my love for you could get any deeper, but I feel like my heart just grew in size. Youâre an incredible woman and I canât wait for you to be the mother of my child. Youâve already made my life so much better and I couldnât imagine doing this with anyone else. I love you so much sweetheart, just how the grass is green and the sky is blue.â
You felt a new wave of tears fall from your eyes at his confession. You felt the exact same way, unable to form a coherent sentence through the sobs that had overtaken your body once again. You gripped Joe even tighter than before if that way possible and held him close, scared this moment would be too good to be true and slip away.
He moved down your body slightly to place a kiss to your stomach as his large hands gently rubbed where your bump would soon be forming, feeling your heart clench at his tender touch. He began to whisper something into your stomach, unable to make out everything he was saying except the words âbaby burrowâ, needing to taper your emotions or youâd be crying the rest of the night. With a final kiss to your stomach, he moved his way back up to meet your gaze, resting his forehead against yours.
âWeâre gonna be quite the parent huh? Cute onesie idea by the way,â Joe complimented.
âBabyâs first Bengals gear, I had to. The amount of Bengals stuff Iâm gonna have to wash now will be insane. You bet your ass this baby is gonna be spoiled by all of his âaunts and unclesâ,â you laughed, referring to Joeâs teammates and your friends.
Your laughter caught in your throat as Joeâs hands moved from your face down to your collarbone. He brushed the strap of your dress off your shoulder, taking the opportunity to peer at your new set. You felt him harden above you at the sight, a deep groan vibrating from his chest. His hand skimmed it way further down your body and slipped up the front of your dress, feeling how wet you were through the fabric of your panties.
âIâll read the card later, right now I need you underneath me so I can show you just how happy I am,â Joe spoke in a husky tone.
He scooped you up and carried you towards the stairs, causing you to burst into a fit of laughter. Joe planned to show you how much he loved you the best way that he knew how words not doing his feelings justice. Your usual intimate celebration got a lot more meaningful tonight. Youâd also have to cut that video later.

Omggg this was so good I wanna cry aw Joe as a dad is so cute aww
first night at home | JB9

summary â It's the first night at home with your newborn daughter. When you wake up in the middle of the night and Joe is no longer lying next to you in bed, you find Joe and your newborn daughter in their baby room and what you see there melts your heart
pairing â joe burrow x reader
⌠. ăâş ă . ⌠. ăâş ă . âŚ
Your eyes filled with tears again as you followed Joe carrying the baby carrier with your newborn daughter into your home for the first time.
Two days ago, Amelia Grace Burrow had seen the light of day, making you and Joe the happiest of people and your family complete for the time being.
Amelia was almost a one-to-one copy of your boyfriend, she had even inherited his tangled, almost curly hair, which was clearly visible from birth as she had been born with an incredible amount of hair.
The living-dining room was adorned with colorful decorations. There were countless helium balloons in the shape of a baby bottle, a teddy bear, a princess and Amelia's name.
There was also a garland with 'Welcome home, baby & mommy' written on it. The dining table was heaped with presents and food so that you could only just make out the wooden top of the table.
"Wow," you marveled as you blinked hard at the tears that were already filling your eyes and making their way down your cheeks.
You had thought that your hormones would settle down quickly after the birth, as you had already been quite waterlogged during the pregnancy - but no way. Your hormones had been going crazy almost non-stop since the birth of your little girl, so you had already used up countless tissues and there seemed to be no end in sight.
"Did you do all that?" you looked over at Joe, who carefully placed the baby carrier on the couch and squatted down in front of it.
Amelia had slept all the way from the hospital to your home, which you were quite grateful for - because you had been terrified of the first car journey.
It probably hadn't been the best idea to read the experiences of other mothers on various websites, as most of them had described the first car journey with a newborn as the 'horror ride'.
But Amelia seemed to have been a calm and contented baby not only in the hospital, but also on the car journey and even now, as she continued to slumber soundly in her seat.
"The decoration? Yes. The gifts and food are from a few neighbors, but most of the things are from my teammates - most of them really went overboard with the gifts. I'm sure one or two of them will spoil Amelia as she gets older," he laughed, whereupon you joined in with his laughter.
Because you could imagine all too well how much Joe's team colleagues would spoil your daughter.
Ja'Marr, Tee and Sam in particular had adored the little one ever since they had known you were having a daughter.
The three of them had even been on hand to help set up the baby's room and had already bought countless cute outfits for Mini Burrow (including, of course, a Mini Burrow jersey from each of them so that she could - according to the boys - support her favorite uncle).
As you laughed, you began to feel your abdomen tighten slightly in pain. Even though the birth had not brought any complications, you had a painful pulling sensation in your abdomen from time to time, which was normal according to the doctors at the hospital, so you lay down on the soft cushions of the sofa next to the baby seat.
Joe carefully undid the baby seat belt and then took out your daughter, who was quite tiny, and sat down on the sofa next to you with her in his arms.
Amelia's eyes were closed and there was a pacifier in her mouth that was almost bigger than her face.
A Bengals cap sat on her head - how could it be any different, of course, because according to Joe she had to be taken directly to her favorite team.
"She's so tiny," you gushed quietly as a tear began to roll down your cheek.
You still couldn't believe your happiness about your little family, which you had wished for since you were little - it would certainly take some time before it happened.
"And so beautiful, like her mommy," Joe added, causing a soft sob to leave your lips.
"I love you so much," Joe breathed, as seconds later he carefully put his free arm around you so that your head found its place on his shoulder, where you had an even better view of the sweet little creature lying perfectly in Joe's arm, sucking on her pacifier and leaning.
"We love you too. So much," you whispered softly before your eyes drifted shut from sheer exhaustion and you too fell into a peaceful sleep.
â
You were startled out of your sleep by a scream, so that you sat up straight in bed and looked around in the dark bedroom, which was only lit by a faint ray of light from the street lamp.
You could still remember falling asleep next to Joe on the sofa. But you couldn't remember getting into bed on your own, so Joe must have carried you up and put you to bed.
But before you could turn the covers aside and swing your feet on the bed, Joe was already jumping out of bed.
"I'm going, go back to sleep," he breathed softly to you and pressed a quick kiss to your forehead before pushing you back onto the mattress and putting the covers back over you.
And the moment your head touched the pillow, you were already asleep again.
It was crazy how little you slept with a newborn and how quickly you fell asleep once you'd taken care of the baby or your partner took over.
But you wouldn't trade anything for the chance to sleep through the night again.
â
The next time you woke up and looked to your left, Joe still wasn't back.
A glance at your cell phone, which was lying next to you on the bedside table, told you that it was only 4:55am.
Carefully, your hand touched the empty side of the bed next to you, which was quite cold, so you knew that Joe must have been with your daughter for some time.
Even though you couldn't hear a sound - not even Amelia's crying - you decided to check and relieve Joe, because maybe Amelia needed her mommy now.
The wooden floor creaked softly under your bare feet as you followed the source of light coming from Amelia's nursery.
The closer you got to the baby's room, which was by far the most loving room and your favorite room in the whole house, you heard Joe's soft voice.
So as not to elicit another creak from the floor, you tiptoed the last few meters over to the bright room with the flowery wallpaper, where you leaned slightly against the door frame and took a look inside the room.
On the cozy armchair in the middle of the baby's room, Joe sat with Amelia in his arms and handed her the bottle, from which Amelia drank greedily.
Joe gently rocked the two of them back and forth while his hand held the bottle and his index finger stroked your daughter's tiny hand.
This sight made your heart warm up and your heart skip a little. It really was a beautiful view that almost brought new tears to your eyes - but only almost.
"You're really hungry, huh?" he asked softly as a smile spread across his lips.
"That's good, you'll be a big and strong girl. But do you know what you already are? My sweet girl. My sweet girl, who I will always protect. Come what may. I will also make sure that no boy will ever break your heart and if he hurts you because of Uncle Ja'Marr, I will make sure that he suffers. But also the whole team will always make sure that you don't get hurt. Because they are family. They are your uncles. You'll never be alone..I promise you that,A."
The quarterback leaned in slightly to kiss your daughter's little forehead, causing Amelia to let out a soft sweet sound.
A wide smile crept onto your lips and you couldn't stand there any longer, just watching the two of them.
You crossed a few steps before you reached Joe and Amelia, who had just finished the last of the bottle and now had a wide grin on her lips, which seemed to grow twice as big when she spotted you.
"You've discovered mommy. She probably couldn't sleep anymore because I wasn't there and you've completely taken over me" Joe grinned as he gently tickled your daughter's tummy and then put her over his shoulder for a burp and patted her gently on the back.
"How long have you been awake?" you asked Joe as you carefully adjusted the burp cloth lying on his shoulder.
"I don't know, half an hour?"
"Why didn't you wake me up? I would have done it already. You got up earlier..."
You were slightly plagued by guilt, because before you went home, you had both agreed that you would take turns whenever Amelia cried or was hungry so that you both got enough sleep.
"Hey, babe..." his voice sounded soft as he reached for your hand and stroked the back of it. "You slept so deeply and I wanted you to get some sleep after the exhausting birth two days ago. I'm fine, really. My tiredness has been blown away. I mean look at her, she's mesmerizing me."
Joe's gushing caused him to start yawning softly and it was only now that you saw clearly how deep the circles under his eyes actually looked.
"Come back to bed. Let's cuddle up in our bed as a family. And when you fall asleep, you'll sleep through the night" you promised your boyfriend and together you made your way back to the bedroom, where the three of you snuggled into bed.
Joe lying on his back, with Amelia curled up on his chest, who already seemed to be in a milk coma, with your head in the crook of his neck.
And it wasn't long before the two of you drifted back to sleep overjoyed and you could hardly wait to start the next day together as a family.

â MORTGAGE MISCHIEF, joe burrow.
PAIRING: Joe Burrow đ Black!Wife!Reader
GENRE: Husband & Dad Joe
SUMMARY: In which â Y/N caves in and makes a TikTok account, and it doesn't take long for her to try to prank her unserious husband.
NOTE: I love this trend on TikTok so freaking much, bro, I just couldn't help myself. I wish there was more pranks going around TikTok so I could write another one lol! Feel free to send me more ideas and suggestions, enjoy!
UNIVERSE: Tenderhearts & Touchdowns!

Y/N had never been the kind of person to keep up with social media trends. Her Instagram was mostly filled with family snapshots, vacation photos, and the occasional throwback post from her college days. TikTok, though? That was a whole different ballgame.
Sheâd heard the buzz about it, of courseâthe dances, the memes, the endless rabbit hole of videos that could steal hours of your dayâbut it wasnât really her thing.
That is, until some of Joeâs fans started flooding her DMs.
It wasnât unusual for her to get messages from fans, most of them kind and supportive, occasionally sprinkled with the usual social media chaos. But after a family photo Joe posted went viralâa candid shot of the two of them laughing while their kids played in the backgroundâher inbox blew up.
Several people had suggested she start a TikTok account, saying things like, âYour family is so cute, weâd love to see more of you guys!â and âPlease post more videos of Joe being a dad; itâs the content we all need!â
At first, she brushed it off. The idea of putting her family out there in such a public way made her hesitant. Their life was private, cozy, and realâdid she really want to open that up to the internet? But the messages kept coming, and her curiosity eventually got the better of her. One evening, after the kids were asleep and Joe was watching game highlights, she downloaded the app.
It didnât take long for TikTok to reel her in. The first few days, she lurked quietly, scrolling through endless videos of clever pranks, hilarious parenting fails, and, of course, a whole section of TikToks dedicated to football wives and girlfriends. It was the pranks that hooked her.
Women were pulling the funniest, most creative stunts on their unsuspecting husbandsâpretending to be mad over made-up arguments, mispronouncing their favorite athletesâ names, and her personal favorite, casually dropping bombshell âconfessionsâ to see how their partners would react.
She couldnât resist.
âThis would be perfect for Joe,â sheâd said to herself one night, already grinning at the thought. He was so even-keeled most of the time, but his sass came out when he was caught off guard, and she couldnât wait to see what heâd say.
So, Y/N started posting. At first, it was just lighthearted videos of their kids, like Hudson and Elijah racing each other in the backyard or Sawyer trying to crawl after their dog, who always managed to stay just out of reach. The comments poured in, full of love and laughter, and she started to feel less nervous about sharing these little moments. And then came the pranks.
She eased into them, starting smallâthings like pretending to forget what day of the week it was or asking Joe if she could switch his game-day hoodie with one of hers. His reactions were gold, and her videos started gaining traction. She didnât know how many people would find it so funny, but apparently, the internet loved Joe Burrow getting pranked as much as she did.
Which is how she found herself, phone in hand, ready to execute her latest and possibly best trend yet: the âI canât pay the mortgage this monthâ prank.
The living room buzzed with the quiet hum of family life. Hudson and Elijah were seated cross-legged on the rug, their faces scrunched in concentration as they connected Lego pieces, the colorful blocks scattered across the coffee table like a mini construction zone. Sawyer, their youngest, was on the floor nearby, rolling lazily on her playmat while holding her bottle with both hands, occasionally babbling nonsense to herself.
Joe was stretched out on the couch, the epitome of relaxation in his gray hoodie and sweatpants, his wifeâs legs comfortably draped over his thighs. His focus was glued to the MMA fight playing on the TV, and he absently stirred his spoon around a bowl of cereal balanced in his hand.
Every so often, heâd let out a low, âOof,â reacting to a particularly hard punch or takedown, his body slightly tensing with the action on screen.
Y/N sat beside him, phone in hand, scrolling through TikTok. She stumbled across the trend a few hours ago, and decided that now was too good an opportunity to pass up.
Glancing sideways at Joe, she smirked to herself. This will be fun.
She adjusted her phone subtly, angling it to record, and cleared her throat dramatically. âJoe?â
âHmm?â he murmured, not taking his eyes off the screen as he scooped another bite of cereal.
âI need to tell you something,â she said softly, injecting a hint of nervousness into her tone.
Joe didnât look up. âWhatâs up, baby?â
âDonât get mad at me, okay?â she added, biting her bottom lip to suppress a grin.
That got his attention. Joeâs hand froze midair, his spoon hovering over the bowl, and he turned his head toward her, squinting slightly.
âWhat? Why would I get mad?â His sharp gaze shifted to the phone in her lap. âWait⌠whyâre you recording? You pregnant again?â
Y/N burst out laughing at his assumption, unable to keep up her serious facade. âWhat? No!â
âAre you sure? âCause thatâs how you told me about Sawyer,â he replied with a smirk, leaning back on the couch and rubbing his free hand over his face.
âYou just pulled out your phone, started recording, and bamââCongratulations, youâre gonna be a dad again!ââ Y/N rolled her eyes but couldnât help giggling. âIâm serious, Joe. This is important.â
âAlright, alright,â he said, setting his cereal down on the side table and shifting so he was facing her fully. âWhatâs going on? And why are you being all dramatic about it?â
Y/N took a deep breath, steadying herself before delivering her line. âI, uh⌠I wonât be able to pay the mortgage this month.â
Joe blinked at her, his brows knitting together in confusion. âGirl, what are you talking about?â His tone was casual but tinged with disbelief.
She tried to keep her composure, clasping her hands together as if pleading. âThe schoolâs on winter break, so my paycheck isnât going to be enough. I justâugh, I didnât want to disappoint you.â
Joe stared at her for a moment, his expression unreadable. âOkay, wait. How much is the mortgage?â
Y/Nâs mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. âUh⌠like⌠$2,000?â she guessed, feigning confidence.
Joeâs mouth twitched, and he let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. âBabe. You donât even know how much it is, do you?â
âWellâŚâ she stalled, trying to recover.
âThatâs what I thought,â he said, leaning back against the couch and crossing his arms. âYouâve never paid the mortgage.â
âI know!â Y/N blurted, throwing her hands up dramatically. âI was going to as your Christmas present, but my paycheck wonât be enough now!â
Joeâs brow furrowed again, but this time his lips quirked upward, unable to hide his amusement. âSo let me get this straight. You donât know how much the mortgage is. Youâve never paid it before. And now youâre stressed because your Christmas present was gonna be paying it, but you canât?â
âExactly!â she said, doubling down.
For a moment, Joe just stared at her, then he broke into a deep laugh, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. âYouâre crazy,â he muttered, shaking his head. Grabbing his cereal bowl, he leaned back against the couch.
âDonât worry about it, babe. I got it.â He scooped another spoonful and took a bite like it was the most casual thing in the world.
Y/N couldnât hold it in any longer. She burst into laughter, clutching her stomach as she nearly dropped her phone.
Joe raised an eyebrow at her, still chewing. âWhatâs so funny now?â
âIt was a TikTok prank!â she wheezed, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.
Joeâs smirk deepened as he shook his head. âYeah, I figured. Thereâs no way you were being serious.â
âYou were so calm about it, though!â she said, still laughing. âI really thought Iâd get a bigger reaction out of you!â
âNah,â Joe replied, reaching over to pinch her ankle playfully. âYouâre too bad at lying, babe. Next time, at least Google how much the mortgage is first.â
From the floor, Hudson looked up from the Lego set with a curious expression. âWhatâs a mortgage?â
Joe snorted, pointing his spoon at his son. âSomething you donât gotta worry about, buddy.â
Elijah chimed in without looking up from his Legos. âMommyâs bad at pranks.â
Sawyer let out a happy babble from her playmat, almost as if she agreed.
Joe laughed, pulling Y/N closer with one arm. âLooks like the juryâs unanimous, babe. Better luck next time.â

parenthood w/ mrs. burrow ~ blurb
wc: 855 ish
joe burrow masterlist
The house is quiet, which is extremely rare for 2 PM, but by some divine intervention, all the kids are napping at the same time. So you're using this time to catch up on your new hobby, crocheting. Youâre not that good yet, but thatâs from a lack of practice.
Your husband walks into the room as you're undoing your last stitch.
âI see those lessons from my mom didnât really work.â He smirks, lying down on the couch with his head on your lap.
You roll your eyes and attempt the stitch again. âFor someone in choking distance, Iâd keep your mouth shut.â
âLike youâd ever choke me, but I might return the favor if youâre lucky.â He winks, earning a smile from you.
You lean down and place a small kiss on his nose.
âWhat, thatâs all I get?â
âYup, and speaking of your mom⌠I saw her on the news making your favorite. Iâm not gonna say it because-
âBecause itâs on the long list of foods I have to stay away from during the season? Yeah thanks for the reminder.â He groans dramatically, turning his body and smushing his face in your thighs.
âAww my poor babyâŚâ Putting your failed project aside to rake your fingers through his soft hair and lightly scratch his scalp.
âMmmhmm..â He relaxes under your touch and hums against your leggings. âYup, poor me. Poor poor me..â
You snort, continuing the scalp massage. Letting your blunt nails glide along the tender skin and pads of your fingers rub with just the right amount of pressure to induce his light moans and groans of pleasure.
After a few minutes, his body is completely relaxed as youâve lured him into a light slumber. Reflexively, your fingers part and scoop strands of his hair into small braids throughout his head.
Snapping out of the trance you were in, you have to hold back your giggles as you take in your work. Biting your bottom lip, you reach over for your phone to snap a picture. But the second your hands leave his head, he looks up at you. His face relaxed, eyes half open and pink lips curled into a soft closed mouth smile.
âYou know, I was just thinkingâŚâ He starts, seemingly unaware of his current hair situation. âYou should go on the news and talk about your job.â
Your shoulders untense, and a smile finds your features as well. He understands how much you enjoy working with youth and counseling them on navigating the pressures of adolescence while maintaining a healthy state of mind.
âYouâre a great youth counselor, the kids love you⌠All kids love you, even mine.â He smiles lazily, putting his head back down in your lap.
âYour kids are my kids, baby.â
âExactly. They love you like I love you.â You have a soft spot for when he gets like this. His tone was loving, relaxed, and almost slurred as if he were under the influence.
âWell, Mr. Burrow, that would mean I have to make something original on the show.â You ponder the idea for less than a minute, then mutter. âThe only things I know how to make from scratch are babies.â
His usually boisterous, carefree laughter is muffled by the fabric of your leggings, but you can feel his wide smile warming your skin. âI love doing that with you.â
âI know you do. Thereâs a reason why we have 3 under 4.â You chuckle.
âWhat can I say, we make great babies.â He turns to face you once more then leans up to kiss your lips, his lips move slow and almost cautious against yours. He smiles softly against yours when you begin to kiss back, before taking your chin driving his lips more passionately against yours.
Your love for each other speaks for itself as your lips move rhythmically against his. Nothing could possibly interfere with the peace and serenity of this moment except maybe the yells and cries coming from upstairs, from two distinct examples of that love.
You pull away with a sigh, but itâs not of disappointment; your smile mirrors his. âI think our presence is needed.â You chuckle softly.
âYeah, Iâll go investigate the damage our offspring have caused.â Joe pecks your lips once more, then lifts himself off the couch and jogs upstairs.
He reacts only after you hear the door to your sonâs room open. âOh shit.â
Usually heâs able to handle your munchkins all by himself, but the four letter word he mutters worries you.
âBabe!?â You call out, promptly standing from the couch.
âUhhhh... Thing Two had a blowout on Thing Oneâs bed.â He relays as the cries only get louder.
âI just cleaned-â You shake your head, neglecting to finish the thought because this is just one of the joys of motherhood. âYou handle bath time, Iâll strip the sheets!â
âGot it!â He replies as you grab an old laundry basket, then join them upstairs in your oldest sonâs room.
âAt least Princess is okay.â You mutter, pulling off the soiled sheets.
âMama!â
Nevermind.
âDadaâs hair funny!â
a/n: inspired by the interview @joecoolburrow posted. i wrote this in one sitting, first time in forever for that. so... how my people doing? I'm currently in the finals trenches with 4 different injuries, but I'm doing grrrreat..

Omg Joe and reader tryna get some alone time but Hayes is always interrupting them from doing so đ
itâs so on brand for hayes to interrupt at the worst possible moment. you and joe finally manage to steal a quiet momentâhayes is in his playpen, distracted by his toys, and joe pulls you in, all soft smiles and warm hands on your waist. the kiss starts slow, like you both want to savor it, but then it deepens, and you can feel joeâs grin against your lips, probably because heâs already planning to tease you about how bad youâve been wanting this all day.
but just as things are heating upâhayes. âdada!â he shouts, his little voice cutting through the moment like a record scratch. you both pull apart reluctantly, looking over to see him standing at the edge of his playpen, holding his stuffed bear like itâs the most urgent situation in the world.
joe groans under his breath, leaning his forehead against yours for a second before turning toward hayes with a smile thatâs way too soft for someone who was just this close to getting somewhere. âwhatâs up, buddy?â
and of course, hayes just wants to show joe the same toy heâs shown him a thousand times before. you canât help but laugh, shaking your head as joe picks him up, his earlier frustration melting away the second hayes giggles.
âweâll try again later,â joe mutters to you over hayesâ head, and you canât help but roll your eyes because you both know âlaterâ is a long shot. being parents means a lot of things, but uninterrupted kisses? definitely not one of them.

babyâs first thanksgiving
Babyâs First Thanksgiving || Joe Burrow x reader

â˘pairing: Joe Burrow x reader
â˘summary: Itâs Josieâs first Thanksgiving!
â˘warnings: a baby and pure fluff<3
âLook at your little bow peanut, you look so pretty, yes you do!â
You smiled to yourself as you stood in the doorway of your daughterâs nursery, listening to her sweet baby giggles as you watched Joe coo down at her as he got her dressed.
âShe says you look just like me,â Joe picked his daughter up, smiling at her as he spoke, âbut I think you look beautiful like your mommy Josie girl.â
Your heart swelled at your husbands sweet words. You decided to make your presence known, walking into your daughterâs room and grinning as you spoke.
âI donât know, I think she looks just like her daddy.â
The sound of your voice made Joe take his attention away from his six month old daughter and to you instead. His smile widened, making his eyes crinkle up at the corners in a way you always loved. You walked further into the room, standing behind Joe and waving at your smiling baby girl.
âHow long have you been eavesdropping on Josie and I?â Joe asked with a smirk as he brought Josie into his arms. You shrugged, your smile turning into a smirk to match Joeâs. âLong enough.â your smirk turned back into a smile as you reached your arms out to take your daughter from Joeâs arms.
âHi Josie girl!â You beamed as soon as your daughter was in your arms, âYou look so cute.â
âSay thanks mommy,â Joe spoke in a higher octave, making it seem like Josie was the one speaking, âDaddy picked out my outfit.â
You eyed Joe as you replied, âWell daddy did a great job.â You kissed Josieâs chubby cheeks, making the baby girl giggle happily as she flashed you and Joe a wide, gummy smile. Her sweet giggles never failed to put a smile on yours and Joeâs faces.
âAre you so excited for your first Thanksgiving? Try some sweet potatoes, rolls, turkeyâ.â
âAnd ham.â
You chuckled as Joe cut in.
âAnd ham.â You added, tickling your daughterâs sides and making her giggle once again. Joe smiled at you two as he wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side.
âAre my girls ready to go?â
You nodded, bouncing your daughter on your hip slightly, âSay yes daddy, weâre ready when you are.â
Joe leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of yours and Josieâs head, making both of you smile. Your little family was full of so much love that only grew more and more each day.
Once you made sure you had Josieâs diaper bag all packed up, the three of you left your house and headed over to Joeâs parents for Thanksgiving dinner.
~time skip~
âHere Josie girl,â you grabbed a half a spoonful of your sweet potatoâs and brought them up to your babyâs girls little lips, âyou wanna try some?â
She opened her mouth like a little bird, eating the sweet potatoes off the spoon. You and Joe watched with smiles on your faces as she smacked her lips and babbled happily.
âDo you like them peanut?â Joe asked, chuckling as Josie leaned forward to take more from the spoon you were holding. âMmm,â you hummed, your daughter making the same sound as you. âYeah?â You asked, cooing sweetly at your daughter, âyummy huh?â
Joeâs parents watched from across the table with wide grins as you and Joe introduced their granddaughter to some of her first solid foods.
You picked up a piece of turkey from your plate, tearing off a small piece and holding it out for Josie. She took it from your hand with her chubby fingers and shoved it into mouth. As soon as the turkey hit her tongue, her face turned into a look of disgust as she slowly chewed. She spit the turkey out and whined slightly.
You chuckled as you looked over at Joe, âShe really is your little twin Joe.â Joe smiled and reached out to rub his thumb across Josieâs cheek, swiping away some of her drool.
âItâs OK baby girl,â he cooed at his daughter, âdaddy doesnât like turkey either.â
Joe took his hand away from her mouth and grabbed a small piece of ham from his plate. He brought the meat up to her lips, the two of you watching cautiously as Josie hesitantly took the ham from her fatherâs finger. Josieâs face instantly lit up as she started chewing the ham.
âYou like it Josie?â Joe asked, smiling at his daughter as she clapped her hands.
âIâm taking that as a yes. Robin spoke up, a smile on her face too.
Joe chuckled at his moms comment and tore off another small piece of ham, giving it to Josie who gladly accepted it. âShe really is just like me, huh?â he asked, glancing at you with a smirk.
âI told you she was,â you replied, âshe looks like you, acts like you, and now she hates turkey like you do, too.â

A Magical Surprise
Summary: You plan a trip with your little family to Disney, but you have a magical surprise for Joe of your own. Requested by this anon!
Pairings: dad!Joe Burrow x mom!reader
Warnings: none, some Disney adventure fluff, Joe having major dad energy, pregnancy announcement
Note: Hi! Thank you to the anon who requested this. Some good ole tooth-rotting fluff after all the spice I've written recently. I think this turned out cute, and I somewhat proofread it (oops). Hope you all enjoy!
Word Count: 1.8k

You and Joe had talked at length about taking your little family on a getaway. The two of you as a couple hadnât taken a trip since you had your son, aside from going to see Joe play. It took a bit of time for you to get to that point and were only able to travel to so many games. Your son had not taken a trip outside of Joeâs games before either, having both of your families local was a blessing. After some planning and brainstorming, the two of you decided what better place to take him than Disney. He was at that age where he was able to go on the rides and actually enjoy it as well as you and Joe getting to bask in some memories while he was little. Everything was still so new to him in his little world, that being able to bring his favorite characters to life would be an amazing sight to see.
In the days leading up to the trip, you had been feeling somewhat off. You hadnât thought too much of it, but there were some similarities to the symptoms you had felt when you were pregnant with your son. You decided to play it safe and take a pregnancy test before you traveled. Sure as shit, the small plus sign popped up fairly quickly and confirmed your suspicions. You were so excited, having discussed before that it felt like the right time to try for baby #2. It was eating at you that you hadn't told him yet but had the perfect idea planned out to surprise him during your trip.Â
You were able to play how you were feeling off to Joe by saying how you mustâve gotten a little bit of something from work, but how you knew youâd be feeling better in time. He seemed wary, but took your word for it, doting on you for anything you asked for.Â
âI just want to make sure youâre okay mamas, gotta be feeling well so you can enjoy our tripâ Joe would say, bringing you crackers and seltzer to settle your stomach. Little did he know, it was your morning sickness hitting you in full force. You couldnât wait to tell him.
Your flight was a breeze, your son sleeping the entire way like a saint. It gave you and Joe some time to catch up and just talk. It was so nice getting to reconnect together with no other worries to bother you while youâre in the air. Being married to a star had its perks, having taken a private flight meant no needing to wait around in an airport full of strangers and a smooth arrival, avoiding baggage claim and a car waiting for you. Joe loaded in all of your bags while you got your son settled into his carseat, making your way from the tarmac to the hotel.Â
After a long day of travel, you got your son to settle down to bed somewhat easily. You were laid in in the hotel king bed when Joe came in fromÂ
You got up bright and early the next day, hoping to beat the rush of the crowd. Youâd also hoped you wouldnât be bothered, having the fast pass as well as going during an off peak time. Your son's face had lit up with excitement the moment he got inside the gates, wondering what someone as small as he was mustâve been thinking about everything around him. His entire childhood was right before his eyes.
âI wanna go on dumboâ he exclaimed, about to take off before Joe reached out to scoop him up into his arms, a fit of giggles ensuing.
âNot so fast little man, this isnât like the park at home we got to keep you close by. We can go on Dumbo, letâs go get in lineâ Joe said after he got him to settle enough to listen, his little arms flailing with elation at his dadâs word. You look at your two boys with a warm feeling in your chest, knowing today was the day you were going to tell him he wasÂ
After quite a few rides, it was getting to be lunch time. You could tell that your boys were hungry, knowing youâd need to stop for food soon if you were gonna keep at it for the rest of the day. Your little boy was starting to get a little hangry, ready to throw a tantrum when he was told to wait for his mouse ears hat he wanted. You assured him he would get it, after he got some much needed food in his belly. That was, until you realized this was the perfect opportunity for your reveal idea.
âHey hun, would you be able to grab us some lunch? Iâll wait for the hat to get made and meet you both at the tableâ you said, silently hoping he would abide by your request. The food court wasnât far from the stand, knowing he could keep an eye on you from a close distance.
âSure thing, want your go-to?â he asked, your boy in his arms resting on his side. You nodded, giving him a kiss of approval before he walked off to get some lunch. You exhaled a breath you didn;t realize you were holding in, knowing this would be a big moment for you two.
You got to talking with the park employee that was working the stand, explaining your idea to her and gushing over how cute it was going to be. You were going to have your sonâs name stitched into the front of the hat. On the back, you had her add in âBig Brotherâ, letting the reveal come from the little hat on your son's head. She got it back to you fairly quickly, the sight of it beginning tears to your eyes from how happy this life has made you.Â
You were excited to be growing your family with the man of your dreams, snapping yourself out of your thoughts to compose yourself. You were making your way to your family when your heart melted all over again. Joe and your son were sitting at a picnic bench, your son trying his hardest to reach the table on his own from the bench seat, but being lifted up by Joe to be sat on his lap. He seemed perfectly content with the new seat, easily able to reach his food on his own.Â
Joe looked up at you as you approached the table, a big grin across his face when you sat down. Your son had matched his energy, eyes lighting up when he saw you with the ears in hand.
âHey mamas, we got you some chicken tenders and friesâ Joe said while your son had cut him off âthose are your favorite, mine tooâ he said as he reached over to take some of your fries with his little hands. You laughed as he did so, pushing the small tray closer so that he could reach.Â
âI got your hat for you sweetheart, we can put it on after we eat. What ride do you wanna go on next?â you asked, hoping to keep his immediate focus off of the hat clutched in your hands. He placed his index finger on his chin, tapping as if he was deep in thought. He pointed his finger straight up with a look of surprise on his face when he must've made his decision.
âI wanna see Mickey Minnie castleâ he cheered happily. You couldnât say no, even if that was on the other side of the park from where you were currently. You and Joe exchanged looks, knowing one of you was going to be carrying him not too long into your walk.
As you got closer to the castle, your son was itching to walk. He looked absolutely adorable with his little ears on, seeing the secret stitched onto the back as you walked close behind your boys. You snapped a quick picture as they walked up to the castle, knowing this would be a memory you wouldnât want to forget.Â
When you reached the castle, you asked one of the many photographers around to get a photo of the three of you. The photographer snapped a couple of shots, thanking her and moving on before you made your move towards the reveal.Â
âJoe why donât you flip his ears around, I think there was something on the backâ you said nonchalantly as you stepped away from him. He tilted his head in confusion, but listened to your words. You watched as he slipped the elastic band from under your sonâs chin and turned the back to the front, pausing to read the words in front of him.Â
Joe turned his head slowly towards you as he processed the words âBig Brotherâ on your son's head. He seemed at a loss for words for a few seconds before he spoke up.
âAre you serious? Youâre pregnant again?â his voice hopeful as you saw tears begin to well in his eyes. You gave him a small nod as tears started to come up for you too. Joe took a few steps over to you with your son in his arms as he embraced you in as tight of a hug he could muster.
âIâm so damn happy baby, how long have you known?â Joe questioned, his voice full of adoration from the news.Â
âNot too long, itâs the whole reason I havenât been feeling well. Itâs been the hardest secret Iâve had to keep, you have no idea how badly I wanted to tell youâ you laughed lightly, watching him process and a realization cross his face.
âI knew you couldnât have gotten something from work that fast. God, Iâm so excited I get to go through all of this with you, this was such a cute way to tell me even though I wish I knew sooner so I couldâve been there for you moreâ he set your son down, giving you a one-armed squeeze while your son grabbed onto your leg.
âEverything you did and still do for me is perfect. Youâre an amazing dad to our little boy and I canât wait to see how you handle one more little boy or girlâ you said, giving him a kiss to add a finality to your words.
âIs it bad that Iâm hoping for a girl so we both can have our own little minis?â Joe asked while lifting your son onto his shoulders to give him a good view.
âI just know you would be an amazing girl dad if itâs anything like how you treat meâ you said, imagining Joe with your daughter and knowing how much he would spoil her.
âIf I treat you like my queen, I would treat her like my princess,â he said as you all looked up at the castle in front of you. Your life felt like a fairytale that you got to live with your dream man.

A day in the spotlight
It had been another successful game for the Cincinnati Bengals, and the crowdâs roar still echoed in Joe Burrowâs mind as he made his way to the locker room. The adrenaline from the win was still fresh, but he couldnât wait to see his favorite people waiting for him.
His wife, Alex, always had a calming presence that grounded him. Their daughter, Capri, was the little light of their lives. Even at just two years old, her bright eyes and mischievous giggles made everything else seem a little less important. Today, they had decided to join him at the press conferenceâhis little family was his biggest cheerleaders, and he wanted them by his side.
After changing into a fresh outfit, Joe met up with Alex and Capri by the car. Capri, decked out in a tiny Bengals jersey with her dadâs number, was already tugging at her momâs hand, ready to see her dad. She had her usual sparkle in her eyes, bouncing with excitement.
âReady, superstar?â Joe grinned, scooping her into his arms.
âDada!â Capri squealed, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck.
Alex, smiling softly at the scene, nodded. âSheâs been talking about this all day. Sheâs going to steal the show, isnât she?â
Joe chuckled, looking down at his daughter. âShe already does, every day.â
The press room was buzzing with reporters, cameras flashing, and microphones being adjusted. Joe gave a slight nod to his publicist as he walked in, Capri on his hip a big but shy smile on her face, playing with her dads chain. A hush fell over the room as the reporters noticed the little family.
âJoe! Over here!â someone shouted.
âIs this your daughter?â another reporter asked, smiling at Capri, who was happily babbling in her dadâs arms, unaware of the attention.
Joe smiled, clearly proud. âYeah, this is Capri. Sheâs already a pro at the spotlight.â
Joe made his way to the podium. âSheâs been looking forward to this moment,â he added, winking at the reporters. âWho wouldnât want to see their dad in action?â
Joe settled into the seat at the front, Capri on his lap now, her small hands grasping at his microphone as if she was ready to give her own interview.
âSo, Joe,â a reporter began, âgreat game today. How does it feel to play so well with your family cheering you on?â
Joe paused for a moment, glancing at Alex who was sitting in the back of the room then down at Capri, who was still trying to figure out how to adjust the mic.
âItâs everything,â he said, his voice filled with warmth. âItâs one thing to have the fans behind you, but when youâve got your family in your corner, itâs a whole other level. Capri, sheâs my good luck charm.â
Capri giggled, her little face lighting up as she turned to her dad. âDada win!â
âThatâs right, sweetheart. Daddy won because youâre always rooting for me.â
The room broke into laughter at the adorable interaction, and one reporter couldn't resist asking, âWill Capri be joining you for future press conferences?â
Joe glanced at Alex, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. âIf she wants to. Sheâs got the personality for it.â
Capri, clearly loving the attention, looked up at Joe and then pointed at the reporters. âMore questions!â
The reporters burst into laughter again, the mood light and easy, as Capriâs charm had clearly won them over. Joe shot Alex a look of pure amusement. âI think weâve got a future star on our hands.â He said as the reporters laugh more
As the press conference continued, Joe fielded questions while Capri, satisfied with the attention, started playing with her dadâs watch, babbling in her own little world. At one point, she reached for Joeâs face, gently patting his cheek, as if to say âgood job.â
âI think sheâs telling me Iâm doing a great job,â Joe said, holding Capriâs hand gently.
The room erupted in another round of laughter. It was clear that this wasnât just a typical post-game press conference. This was a family affairâa moment of connection that went beyond the football field.
After the conference, Joe and Alex walked hand-in-hand out of the room, Capri nestled happily in Joeâs arms.
âYou were perfect,â Alex whispered to Joe.
Joe smiled down at Capri, who was still gazing around, wide-eyed. âI think we all were.â
They walked out into the bright Cincinnati evening, the weight of the world a little lighter with their little girl by their side.
Capriâs laughter echoed in their hearts, and in that moment, they knew there was nothing more important than thisâfamily, love, and the memories they were building together.
Authors note: I already love them. Do I make this a series? I already have two on wattpad (yes Iâm a wattpad girl aswell sue me) IDK TELL ME IF THIS IS CUTE

â NOT LONG AGO, joe burrow.
PAIRING: Joe Burrow đ Black!Wife!Reader
GENRE: Husband & Dad Joe
SUMMARY: In which â Joe and Y/N can't believe how far they've come. From taking a pregnancy test in a dorm room, to washing dishes while the babies watch a movie.
NOTE: I got a MacBook and forgot how to act, writing on this thing is so much fun Lord help me. I thought this was kinda cute, shows a lil different side of our couple but its low-key the shortest thing I've written so far, unfortunately :( but enjoy and ignore any errors! <3
UNIVERSE: Tenderhearts & Touchdowns!

The house was unusually quiet, a rare reprieve in the Burrow household. The twins, Hudson and Elijah, were snuggled up on the couch under a thick blanket, captivated by the colorful characters on the TV screen. Their little giggles and whispers occasionally broke the stillness. Outside, the cold December wind howled, but the warmth of their Cincinnati home kept the chill at bay.
Y/N stood at the sink, sleeves rolled up, scrubbing the last of the dinner plates. The glow from the under-cabinet lights cast a soft radiance over her face, and she hummed a tune under her breath, content in the moment.
Joe appeared in the doorway, leaning casually against the frame, his hands shoved into the pockets of his sweatpants. His gaze lingered on her, a small smile tugging at his lips.
âHey,â he called softly. âWhy donât you let me handle these? Go hang out with the boys for a bit.â He nodded toward the couch where their sons were quietly enjoying the movie.
Y/N glanced over her shoulder, her lips curving into a smile. âY'know how this works, Burrow. I wash, you rinse.â She handed him a freshly cleaned plate, their fingers brushing briefly.
Joe chuckled, stepping forward to take his place beside her at the sink. âFair enough. I just hate seein' you doing all the work when youâve been chasing after them all day.â
âI like this part,â she replied softly, dipping her hands back into the soapy water. âItâs peaceful. Plus, weâre a team, remember?â
Their routine continued, the rhythmic sounds of dishes clinking and water running filling the air. The moment felt perfect in its simplicity.
âRemember when we found out?â Joe started, his voice carrying a note of nostalgia. Y/N looked at him briefly, shaking her head as she let out a soft giggle.
âHow could I forget? You ran nearly three miles across campus to get to my dorm, Joe.â She replied, and he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly before asking, "How do you think I got the Heisman?"
â
Back in 2019, Joe and Y/N were basically still kids. Seniors in college, but still kids. Y/N had finals coming up for her Bachelor's degree, and word around campus was that Joe would be nominated for this year's Heisman. They were both rather successful in their academics and sports--but this, no level of success could prepare a college student for a positive pregnancy test.
She sat on the floor of her dorm room, her back pressed against the bed-frame, knees pulled to her chest. Her breathing was shallow and erratic, her hands trembling as she clutched her phone. The pregnancy tests were on the bathroom counter, both of them untouchedâher mind racing in panic, holding her back from using the tests alone.
When Joe picked up, his voice was steady but laced with concern. âY/N? Hey, babe. What's up?â
She tried to speak, but all that came out was a choked sob. Her breathing quickened, and she could feel her chest tightening.
âY/N,â Joe said, his voice firmer now. âBreathe, okay? Iâm coming. Iâll be there in ten.â
The line disconnected before she could respond, and she stared at the phone in her trembling hands, her tears falling freely.
Meanwhile, Joe was already running. He bolted out of the locker room, his duffel bag slung over his shoulder, his cleats barely tied. The cold air stung his face as he sprinted across campus from the football field to the girlsâ dorms. Students turned to watch as he sped past, but he didnât care.
By the time he reached her door, he was panting, his chest heaving from the exertion. He pushed it open without hesitation and dropped his duffel bag to the floor. The sight of Y/N, curled up and trembling, hit him like a punch to the gut.
âY/N,â he breathed, moving toward her. She stood shakily, meeting him halfway, and threw her arms around his neck. Her sobs were muffled against his chest as he wrapped his arms around her.
âHey, hey,â Joe murmured, his hand rubbing soothing circles on her back. âWhatâs wrong? Talk to me.â
She pulled back just enough to meet his eyes, her tear-streaked face breaking his heart. "I think IâI'm pregnant." She choked out, a hand going to her mouth to try and cover the hiccups.
"I'm too scared to touch them, Joe." She sobbed, and he nodded, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "It's alright, Y/N. I'm here now."
They stood there for a moment before Joe left a kiss on her tanned forehead, brushing a stray curl away from her face and tilting her chin upward. "I'll stand right beside you. I'll even hold your hand if you want me to."
Y/N playfully rolled her eyes, "Now's not the time to be humorous, Burrow." She roughly wiped her tears away before making her way to the bathroom, turning around with a waiting expressionâhoping Joe was on her heels, which he was.
She took both tests while Joe stood a few inches away, looking away out of respect but still turning around to check on her every few moments. Y/N quickly washed her hands, taking the tests and grabbing Joe's hand, leading him to her bed. They both sat on the edge, the two plastic tests lying in between them. Face down.
At least six minutes had passed now, and Joe couldn't stop his leg from bouncing. Y/N stared at them as if they might explode, her hands trembling slightly.
"You should check." Joe said, breaking the silence, his voice low and steady. Y/N whipped her head in his direction, "Me? You check it!"
Joe shook his head by then decided against arguing. He sighed, leaning over, and then hesitating for a moment. His fingers hovering over the tests, "Okay, but...don't we kinda already know?"
"Just look, Joe." She snapped, her voice higher-pitched than usual. She squeezed her eyes shut out of fear, as Joe flipped the tests over and freezes. His jaw tightened, but he doesn't speak right away.
"Joe," Y/N whispers, her heart pounding in her chest. "What does it say?"
"Positive." he says, barely above a whisper.
The words hit her like a freight train. She slumps back into the couch, her head in her hands. "Oh my God," she mutters, her voice cracking. "This canât be happening. I canâtâ"
"Y/N," Joe starts, but she cuts him off, her words tumbling out in a frantic rush.
"My mama is going to kill me," she says, sitting up straight now, her hands flying. "You donât understand, Joe. And my daddy's always lecturing me about âstaying focusedâ and ânot ruining my future.â This is exactly what he meant! Theyâre never going to forgive me for this!"
Joe stands, walking over to her and crouching down. "Hey," he says softly, placing a hand on her knee, but she jerks away, jumping to her feet.
"And what about graduation?" she continues, pacing the room now. "Three months, Joe! We graduate in three months! Do you have any idea how much a baby costs? Diapers, formula, doctor visits⌠How are we supposed to afford that?"
Joe stays quiet, letting her vent. She turns to him suddenly, her eyes wide. "You donât even have a job lined up yet! And me? I donât know if my internship is going to turn into anything. We have nothing, Joe. Nothing!"
"Y/N," he says firmly, standing up.
She doesnât stop. "Iâm not ready for this! Weâre not ready for this! I canâtâ"
"Y/N!" he says louder, his voice cutting through her panic. She freezes, her chest heaving.
He takes a step closer, his voice calmer now. "Listen to me. I know this wasnât the plan, okay? I get it. But I am going pro. You know Iâve been working toward the draft, and my agent is confident Iâll get picked. Iâm gonna make it, Y/N. And when I do, weâll be okay."
She stares at him, shaking her head. "Joe, the draft isnât guaranteed. What if something goes wrong? What if you donât get picked? What ifâ"
"I will," he interrupts, his tone steady. "I will. Iâm not just doing this for me anymoreâIâm doing it for you. For us. For this baby."
Her bottom lip quivers, but she doesnât say anything. Joe steps closer, taking her hands in his. "I know youâre scared. Hell, Iâm scared too. But weâve got each other, and Iâm going to do whatever it takes to make sure you and this baby are taken care of. I promise you that."
Tears spill over her cheeks as she looks at him. "Youâre so sure about everything, but Iâm not. My parents are going to see this as the end of my life, Joe. The end of everything Iâve worked for."
He nods, brushing a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "Then weâll prove them wrong. Weâll show them that this isnât the endâitâs just a new beginning. Youâre still going to graduate, Y/N. Youâre still going to chase your dreams. And weâll figure the rest out together."
She exhales shakily, leaning into him as he wraps his arms around her. "I just⌠I donât know how weâre going to do this."
"One step at a time," he says, his voice firm but gentle. "Weâll start by telling our parents. Together."
She pulls back, giving him a doubtful look. "Thatâs easy for you to say. Youâre not the one who has to hear my dadâs lecture about how Iâve âthrown my life away.â"
Joe chuckles softly, trying to lighten the mood. "Yeah, but Iâll be right there with you. And if he tries to kill me, Iâll just tell him Iâm going proâmaybe thatâll distract him."
Despite herself, Y/N laughs through her tears. "Youâre ridiculous."
"Maybe," he says, grinning. "But I love you. And I love this baby, even if itâs the scariest thing thatâs ever happened to me."
She looks at him, her expression softening. "I love you too."
He pulls her back into his arms, holding her tightly. For the first time all night, she lets herself believe him.
â
Back in their kitchen, the married couple laughs in unison as they recalled the dinner where they told both of their parents. "Oh my gosh! Daddy almost jumped across that table at you!"
"I was scared!" Joe laughed loudly, covering his mouth when he saw Hudson's head pop up over the top of the couch. "Your dad is very intimidating."
"Well, you survived." Y/N insisted, "And we both know I thought my life was over." Joe playfully frowned, "You were pacing so much before that dinner, babe. I thought you were gonna burn a hole in the carpet."
She flicks a bit of water at him, rolling her eyes. "Well, excuse me for being a little freaked out. It wasnât exactly a normal Tuesday, you know? We were graduating in three months, broke as hell, and had no idea what we were doing."
Joe nods, his smile softening. "I remember how scared you were about telling your parents. But you know what I remember more?"
"What?" she asks, handing him a clean glass.
"How you still managed to push through all that fear and finish your degree on time. You didnât let anything stop you, not even two babies kicking your ribs during finals."
Y/N shakes her head, laughing. "Donât act like you werenât freaking out too. You spent half the night staring at that pregnancy test like it might change if you looked hard enough."
Joe laughs, drying the glass. "Okay, fair. I was terrified. But I knew weâd figure it out. And look at us now."
Y/N glances around the kitchen, her eyes lingering on the family photos on the fridgeâthe twinsâ school pictures, a shot of the four of them at the beach, and a drawing labeled Mama, Daddy, Hudson, and Elijah.
"Yeah," she says softly, her voice thick with emotion. "Weâve built a pretty amazing life, havenât we?"
Joe sets the towel down and wraps an arm around her waist, pulling her close. "We have. And those two little terrors in the living room? Theyâre the best thing that ever happened to us."
Y/N leans into him, resting her head against his chest. "I still canât believe we were worried about not being ready. I mean, we werenâtâbut we figured it out."
Joe kisses the top of her head, his voice low and full of love. "Thatâs because weâre a team, Y/N. Always have been."
Before she can respond, a loud crash comes from the living room, followed by giggles and a triumphant "Wasn't me!"
Y/N groans, pulling back. "Moment's over."
Joe laughs, grabbing a dish towel. "Iâll check on the damage. You finish up here."
As he heads toward the living room, Y/N watches him go, her heart swelling with gratitude. She turns back to the sink, rinsing the last plate as the sound of Joeâs playful scolding echoes from the other room.
She smiles to herself, thinking back to that night all those years ago. It had been terrifying and uncertain, but it led to thisâa life full of love, laughter, and a chaos she wouldnât trade for the world.

sick days with joe feat baby burrow
joe burrow and fem!reader
it is currently eleven in morning and joe felt miserable. he was wrapped up in several fluffy blankets coughing up a storm. he kept complaining about his body being cold and feeling lightheaded.
you were downstairs in the kitchen pouring joeâs chicken noodle soup in the bowl. you placed the soup on the standing serving tray, sliced oranges for some vitamin c, and honey lemon tea.
you walked upstairs to you and joeâs bedroom lightly pushing the door open with your foot.
"hey baby," you said softly walking towards the bed. joe let out an incoherent sound. "I brought you chicken noodle soup, some oranges, and tea." you announced.
joe sat up right. "here you go baby," you said placing the standing tray on his lap.
while joe was blowing on his soup baby burrow pushed open the room door holding a colorful piece of paper in his hand.
he climbed up onto the king sized bed with a little assistance from mommy.
"whatâs that you got there buddy?" joe asked in a horse voice.
"I made you a card daddy." baby burrow said happily.
baby burrow handed the card to joe. joe opened the card and read it quietly.
"thanks bud daddyâs feeling better already." joe said giving baby burrow a small smile.
baby burrow crawled closer to joe climbing onto his lap giving him a hug making you smile.
