What's the golden eyes au??

Okay I looked and it was actually called the "jack o lantern au" it looks like. So it's sorta just Known that Danny Phantom canon is legit allergic to making characters with brown eyes, and in response, a few years ago, @dotsz decided to draw Danny Fenton with brown eyes as a human, and gold eyes in Phantom form (cuz reverted colors). The concept SLAPPED and so more art was made/passed around. (more art), (more art), (more art and sorry cam im literally just in ur tags rn)

It was only ever like one/a few people doing it—as most niche AUs go—so when they moved on, the concept sorta fizzled out. But I think conceptually the idea was incredibly cool and the art was s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g. So yeah it's just one of those older, niche things that lives in a corner of my brain!

The "Daniel Photon" ad color swap mishap just sorta brought that all to the forefront of my mind!

But why?

That implies that Danny's transformations put out photons/energy, and Vlad's absorb photons/energy?? Like what is happening in their cores, because whatever it is, they're two very different processes that somehow have the same end result

It would make more sense if transformations were white and detransformations were black, implying that one puts out energy and the other requires it*, but no, butch has no consistency or scientific sense whatsoever

*And from there, fans could extrapolate from which transformation type requires energy, ie which one is the deviation from the default state! That could've been a clue as to whether he's a ghost with a human side, or a human with ghost side! And I understand if they wanted to stay ambiguous on that, but it still could've been really cool

God what kind of chaos have I gotten myself into?

Anyways all I can imagine is that Danny's the ghost obsessed hunter of the family and his parents are just like, "Yeah we support him"

I've always been sweet on Latinx!Danny. Maybe bc little kid me saw so much in him, wanted him to be like me ^.^

Saw a few reblogs mention stuff about the possibility of other technology being corrupted and how that would work. But maybe Danny only unintentionally affects CCD or CMOs sensor visual technology.

Simplified terms, CCD sensors convert photon origin image elements into light intensity based electrical charges. Those electrons eventually are amplified and converted into voltage via an output node. CMOs sensors are similar with additional digital conversions, they are more prone to noise/image grain and lower resolution. (Most cell phones use CMOs due to it being cheaper.)

Instead of ambiently affecting technology he could affect photon reflection in an area “corrupting” images but not the technology itself. So tech still works but the visual resolution is impaired when focused on him. (Photon interference does affect wifi signals, but is range based and can block or even boost signals.)

Also if he did dramatically affect photons he could potentially stop a lot of rogue’s and Batman’s plans. Trackers could be impaired, range activated traps could be delayed or unable to work, optical recognition devices (like ID scanners), probably a lot of other stuff too both unintentionally and intentionally.

There’s also a potential effect on kryptonions due to photons relationship with solar radiation. So Danny and other ghost could possibly increase or decrease a kryptonions strength. Not in a kryptonite way but a solar processing way, since energy from different types of stars affects kryptonions differently.

Bruce has been having some trouble trying to figure out why the security camera feed at Damian's school keeps on corrupting. The pattern is consistent with a normal students schedule. Classes that change every class period, cameras fizzing out as the unknown walks to their next class, and occasional irregularities in the pattern. The irregularities easily chalked up to the unknown talking to friends or going to the bathroom.

Bruce has every single student with that class schedule pulled up of every student that has the schedule of the Unknown and is even more concerned, noticing that his son has two overlapping classes with the Unknown.

Bruce checks what students have recently transferred schools and sees only one student who's schedule and recent appearance matched.

A student by the name of Daniel "Danny" Nightingale.

Elements

Innocent questions could take a person down dangerous rabbit holes.  Questions like, for example, “Why doesn’t ghost ice melt?”

He hadn’t really thought about it before, but, surrounded by the icy caves of the Far Frozen, it seemed a natural enough question.  He hadn’t a lot of time to ask about it when he was here before, in ice power bootcamp, trying to get enough of a handle on them to fight Undergrowth without freezing to death.  

But the crystal he’d given Sam had yet to melt, and even when they’d held it over a tea light, it had retained its shape.  They’d only been able to melt ghost ice with ghost fire.  It was cool, but also weird.  

Frostbite beamed at him.  Frostbite did a lot of beaming, actually.  It was a welcome change from how most people looked at him.  

“An excellent question, Great One!  How familiar are you with elements?”

“Are we talking about fire, earth, water, air, or about, like, the periodic table?”

“The latter.”

Danny shrugged.  “Vaguely?  I mean, I’m in chemistry, but it’s high school and I have bad grades.”

“Do you know what elements are made of?”

“Atoms,” said Danny.  

“And atoms?”

“Electrons, protons, and neutrons.  Protons are what determines the type of element.”

“Quite so,” said Frostbite, smiling broadly.  He directed Danny down a branching passage.  “Do you know what protons and neutrons are made of?”

Danny frowned.  “I thought that was as small as you could go,” he said.  “Except light, I guess.”

“Photons are indeed different,” said Frostbite.  “The matter made from protons and neutrons is baryonic matter.  Or, as Walker dubs it, ‘real world matter.’  The term is highly misleading, of course.”  Frostbite scoffed.  “We have our share of baryonic matter here as well, and the Infinite Realms are very real.”

“Huh,” said Danny.  “I’d always wondered about that.”

“Some people simply do not take death well, it seems,” said Frostbite, sadly.  “But protons and neutrons are made of something I believe humans call quarks.  Electrons are leptons.  Photons are bosons.  Quarks, leptons, and bosons are all elementary particles.”

“Okay,” said Danny, feeling as if all this was going over his head.  Far, far over his head.

“Ectoplasm is largely made of entirely different elementary particles.”  He opened a door for Danny.  

“So…  Is ghost ice, um, made of water made out of those different particles?”

“Alas, the physics do not quite work out that way,” said Frostbite.  “Ectoplasm has its own analog to atoms, but none of them directly correspond to those that create water, or any other earthly element.”

“But I’ve seen water here.  I see ice here.  Even if it doesn’t always behave like regular ice.”

“Yes,” said Frostbite, “but that water is hydrogen and oxygen.  Baryonic matter.  But ectoplamic matter and baryonic matter can interact.”

“So, ghost ice acts the way it does because it’s ectoplasmic matter and baryonic matter interacting?”

“Indeed, Great One!  When we reduce the temperature of our surroundings with our powers, we are in fact appending a specific ectoplasmic particle to the other particles surrounding us.  The addition of the ectoplasmic particle absorbs energy - heat.”

“An endothermic reaction?  That’s what that’s called, right?”

“That is largely correct.  But the ectoplasmic particles associated with our ice powers tend to break down and decay into other particles rather rapidly, with a few exceptions.  One of those exceptions–” Frostbite tapped his knuckles against his ice arm, “--is when it has bonded to water.  The ectoplasmic particles change the structure of the ice enough to make it far more stable than regular ice and allow us to control it or melt it at will.”

“Is that why it melts with ghost fire?  Because it messes with the ectoplasmic particles?”

“Yes.  Anything that disrupts the particles too much will cause the water molecules to act as they usually do.  But there are few things that can do that, and we can invest more power in our ice to make it stronger.  For example, I regularly attempt to infuse my arm with more ectoplasmic particles, although I fear I have long since reached saturation.”  He smiled, ruefully.  “Ah, and here we are, Great One!  A room for you to practice.”

He opened the doors to a large and completely empty cavern.  

“You know,” said Danny, “my aim has gotten better.  I had just recovered from almost dying, last time.  I don’t think I’ll hit anything I don’t want to this time.”

“I think it is still best to try it out here, first, just for all our peace of mind.”  Frostbite patted his shoulder.

“Okay,” said Danny.  He didn’t really mind, per se, and he’d felt really bad about hitting the other yetis, but…  He’d also sort of liked having an audience that was cheering for him.  

“Before you begin, though,” said Frostbite.  “Who do you know that can use fire?  It sounded like you have done some tests.”

“Oh,” said Danny.  “I just used mine.”

“Pardon?”

“I just used my fire,” said Danny, raising a finger and summoning a tongue of flame.  

Frostbite blinked at it.  “That,” he said, “is highly unusual.”

“Is it?”

“Yes, most people who use ice cannot also use fire.  Different forms of energy control.  Have you ever used electric attacks?”

“Yeah, but I’m not very good at it, and I don’t like it.  I end up shocking myself.”

“Fascinating.  May I?”  He gestured at Danny’s hand.  Danny extended it to him, and didn’t protest when he started to examine it.  “How is your general telekinesis?”

“No good in a fight, I have to concentrate too much.”

“Have you ever moved the wind?  Manipulated water?  The weather?”

“Only for a little bit,” said Danny.  “Right after Vortex hit me with lightning that one time.”

“What?”

“What?”

“Vortex hit you with lightning and you gained powers?”

“Yeah?”

“The Ancient Vortex?”

“I don’t know how old he is.”

Frostbite stared at Danny for a long moment, then sighed heavily.  “If it didn’t show up in your exam today, it is probably fine, but that is the sort of thing to tell your doctors.”

Danny shrugged.  “I forgot,” he said.  “So…  What are we going to do today?  Anything…”  He grinned.  “Cool?”

Frostbite chuckled.  “Great One, everything we do is ‘cool,’ as you put it.  Now, let us begin with some basic exercises.”

“Would you call them… warm ups?”

“Sometimes, I fear I will never understand human slang.  Particle physics is much more straightforward.”

Danny: (offscreen) Ugh. (Fade in to the inside of Danny's room, facing his door.) I am so dead.

Danny (in his ghost form) phases through his door. Once inside he turns human. Danny walks to his bed as the door slams open and Tucker and Sam walk in. The door slams shut behind them.(Danny flops face down on his bed.)

Danny: Who knew learning stuff and groping for the approval of our peers could be so exhausting.

Sam and Tucker plop down onto a beanbag chair and desk chair respectively.

Tucker: 7:30 to 3:30. School's like an 8 hour day.

Danny: And every day's a battle. Especially when I have to battle something. (Turns around to face Sam and Tucker.) Is this it guys? Is the fun over? Is life just downhill from here?

Tucker: No way. Life will get a heck of a lot better when someone pays us to work our butts off.

Jack: Hello youngsters. How was school?

Danny: Well, it was pretty exhaust--

Jack: That's super. Your mother and I need the help of three strong hands down in the lab so let's hop to.

Danny: How much are you paying

Jack: I pay you to mow the lawn. This you'll do for the love of science! Lean all your weight into that photon generator son. It refuses to generate photons unless someone tips it a bit to the left.

Maddie: Our equipment's a tad persnickety. Sam just aim your satellite dish into the sky above that neon taco sign. That's where Star Net 7 is in geo-synchronous orbit with our lab.

Sam: But…but…

Ken was coming in out of town to visit a best friend he had known from his college days. It was late, around 10:45 in the night. He called his friend the moment the plan had landed. He had rented a vehicle from the airport. Unfortunately, the vehicle was one of the older models that didn't come with GPS. He had to depend on his phone GPS to get to his friend's house.

His phone lost signal nearing the neighborhood his friend lived in. When he thought he was at his friend's house, he pulled into the drive way. He got out to go knock in the door.

Dave had a rough day at work. It seemed like just about everything was going wrong. He was glad he was able to get somethings right before leaving work, but not everything. Then when he got home, he got so many calls from work concerning issues that wasn't fixed. He really needed a break. He eventually turned his phone off after he had had enough calls. Relaxed in his bed at last till he heard his door bell ring around 11pm at night. He really was in no mood for any further interruptions. He put on his house Rob and went to his front door.

He looked through the peep hole to see a stranger standing there. He didn't recognize the stranger nor was he in the mood for someone showing up at the wrong house.

Ken rung the doorbell several times. "Danny, it's me, Ken. Open up already." He waited for the door to open. It was already late, and he wanted a little rest.

Dave decided to invite the stranger in to help ease his annoyance in a different way. The stranger would prove to be useful to him. Maybe the wrong house he came to, but doesn't mean the stranger has to leave. He opened the door to greet the stranger. "Sorry, wrong house." Dave paused for a moment. "But maybe I can help you find who you looking for," he added.

Ken saw he had rung the wrong doorbell. "I apologize for that, Sir. I was looking for my friend's house." He looked down and his phone still didn't have any service. Maybe the nice stranger could let me use his phone to make a phone call, he thought. "Is all right if I use your house phone to call my friend?" He asked.

Dave had the opening he needed to have a little entertainment at the expense of the stranger. "Sure, come on in." He motioned for him to enter. He made sure the stranger followed him to his kitchen, where the home phone was set up at.

Dave watched as Ken dialed his friend number. Once his friend started giving direction to his house, Dave went back to his room to get his special toy from his closet. He came back to the kitchen in time to see Ken hang up the phone. "Got the direction right?" He asked him.

"Yeah, actually, I am just about an hour away. I turned off the wrong exit. I appreciate you letting me use your phone at the late hour. " Ken spoke when he noticed the stranger holding a strange device in his hand and that it was pointed at him. "What's going on?" He asked as he saw a ray of photonic light flash from it and over his body.

"I was having a really annoying day, and unfortunately, you came in the tail end of my annoying day. I needed something to make it better." Dave smiled with a satisfying grin on his face. "And I thought to myself thst I could use a new pair of brown leather boots. A stranger at my door in late hour of the night would make a great pair. And so here we are now." He added as he saw shock and fear on the stranger's face. He didn't catch his name, but it didn't matter at this point. Footwear don't need names.

Ken felt really weird. Something was going wrong with his body, and it wasn't a fun feeling. A dizzy spell began to plague his mind. He knew he had to get out of this house. As he tried to run, he took a few steps and fell to the floor. He couldn't move from the waist down. The feeling continued all the way to his neck. He heard the strange home owner approach. He saw that he was laughing. He was enjoying this situation. The world around him grew in size just as the strange home owner did as well. "You will make a fine pair of boots," Ken heard the home owner say and laugh afterward. He soon lost all consciousness. The last thing he saw was that the home owners white feet stand next to his face.

Dave loves the way the stranger shrunk rapidly down to size. His body changed to a light brown color. His skin became like leather while his clothes and shoes merged with this body. His body then spilt in two, and both halves formed into a pair of durable brown leather boots.

Dave went outside to the stranger's car. He put in the settings for a toy car and fired at it. The vehicle shrunk down in size to about three inches. It was reduced to a plastic toy Kia Forte four-door model. He picked up the little toy and went back in. He stopped at the newly transformed boots. He had a little plan to help the stranger get used to his new owners' feet. He picked up his new boots and went back to his bedroom.

Ken consciously woke up to a feeling of being carried. He tried to move out of the hands carrying him but found that he could not move at all in his new boot bodies on his own. This was a nightmare. It was supposed to be a trip to spend a week with an old friend, but end up being turned taken and becoming an object for a total stranger. His view of sight was limited as he realized his face had become the insoles in the boots. He then smells something really foul. The light was blotted out by a large cotton object stuffed into his boot bodies. He realized at that moment it was a stinky pair of socks. He wanted to gag do badly. He was unable to remove the pair of socks due to his inability to move on his own. The home owner did this act on purpose, Ken thought to himself. He could hear the home owner climb into bed fully aware of what he had done to another human being but not bothered by it. To be tortured while the guy was sleeping was absolute humiliation.

Dave woke up the next morning looking down at his new boots. He laughed at the thought the guy that arrived at his door last night, spent the night with a pair of socks he wore for three days straight. Even by his own standards, those socks smelled horrible. He couldn't imagine being stuck smelling that all night with no relief. But the guy will soon learn that would only be the beginning of his new existence as his footwear.

Ken thought it felt like it was an eternity since he had fresh air. The foul stench was all he could smell for hours. He thought he might have gotten used to it after ten minutes, but he was so wrong. His mind couldn't sleep all night. The foul socks kept him up all night long. Suddenly, fresh air rushed in as the socks were removed and some light returned.

"Today, I decided to wear you while I run some errands and meet up with friends for lunch and dinner with my boyfriend tonight. I will see how comfortable footwear you are." Dave laughed as he put his feet into the boots starting with the left boot.

Ken saw light disappear again as a socked foot moved in and secured itself on his insole face. He endured it a second time as the other boot was secured on foot. The pressure of his face being crushed over and over was overwhelming. At least the socks didn't stink, he thought. Yet, he was in mental torture. It was painful to him with each step the guy took. He wondered if his mind could even cope with being stuck this way for however long the home owner wanted to keep him

At six hours later, Ken was mentally begging the home owner to let him go. There was starting a bit a foot sweat and a foot odor on top of the pain of the constant crushing of his face. The fact that his face was used to cushion a stranger's feet who didn't even bother to care.

Dave feet felt good, like really good. He had never worn such comfortable boots before. The insoles were very supportive of his feet. It was amazing how they would deflate and inflate with each step. Wearing boots all day the majority of the time would hurt his feet, but these boots were different. He definitely was keeping this pair around for a good while.

Ken could hear the home owner meet with others. He mentally tried screaming for help, but being boots, no one heard his plea. He was kidnapped, held hostage on the home owners feet.

Dave returned home late that night, but he feet felt like he hadn't been on them all day. A testament to how comfortable the boot insoles were. He heard his phone ring. He answered and saw it was the stranger's friend that he was supposed to visit. He told him that the guy had left his place after the phone call, and he hadn't seen him since. After he hung up the call, he wondered if his boots heard the conversation.

Ken mentally cried. Not just because of the pain of being crushed over and over all day, not because the home owner's feet was smelling bad, but because the home owner just lied to his friend. There would be no rescue. He was at the home owner's mercy.

Dave removed his boots and sat on his bed. "You did well for your first day as my boots. Your friend doesn't know you are here. Not to mention I turned your car into a toy car and your phone into a toy phone. So no one can link your whereabouts to here." He paused to let his boots really take in the gravity of his new life. "From now on, you serve my feet. I should thank you for ringing my doorbell. You unintentionally delivered unto me the best pair of boots I ever own." He laughed as he continue to change clothes to relax for the night. "By the way, if you haven't figured out already, I am keeping you like this forever, or till you wear out. When that happens I will just use my special toy to remake you. So get used to my feet, whoever you were." Dave laughed even more walking around his room.

Ken knew then his fate was sealed. He would never see his friend or his old life ever again. He was nothing but footwear for a stranger to use as he pleased.

Just imagining yourself up on stage in front of the bright lights and bumping crowds knowing full well one flick of your wrist can set them reeling is enough to get the heart pumping. Odds are most of us will never get to be a DJ, though. Thankfully, anime has got us covered with D4DJ First Mix, this season’s hottest (and only) show about becoming the most show-stopping, pulse-pounding DJ there is!

  D4DJ First Mix focuses on Rinku Aimoto, a high school girl returning to Japan from abroad. She transfers to Yoba Academy, where DJing turns out to be quite a popular activity. After attending a set on campus and falling in love with the world of DJs, Rinku gathers her friends to start their own DJ group called Happy Around! 

  After the premiere, we caught up with actresses Yuka Nishio (the voice of Rinku Aimoto) Aimi (the voice of Kyoko Yamate) and Risa Tsumugi (the voice of Saki Izumo) from the show to talk about the characters they play, preparing for their roles, and what they like most about the DJ lifestyle.

    To start off, could you introduce yourself and your characters?

  Yuka Nishio: I’m Yuka Nishio and I’m the voice of Rinku Aimoto from Happy Around! Rinku can sometimes be seen as an oddball by others since she is from an island filled with wilderness in Africa. Rinku is extremely bright and cheerful, like the sun that gives energy to everyone, and also like a storm that pulls everybody around her into whatever she’s interested in.

  Aimi: Hello everyone. I’m Aimi and I voice Kyoko Yamate. Kyoko is the vocalist of Peaky P-key and is a cool charismatic girl. 

  Risa Tsumugi: Hi! I’m Risa Tsumugi and I voice Saki Izumo! Saki-chan is… if I describe her in one word, the universe. Her interaction with the big sisters in Photon Maiden who support her warmly is very cute!

    Please tell us the most charming part of your character.

  Nishio: Rinku’s charm is that you just can’t hate her regardless of her lack of common sense, and her extremely cheerful nature due to growing up in the wilderness!

  Aimi: Kyoko spares no effort to improve her music and is strict with herself, but she shows smiles to her friends often. That character gap is her charm. 

  Tsumugi: Saki is just so adorable! Please excuse me from being agonized by her cuteness every time I play her. (Laughs) Even though she appears to be a person with common sense, she can be odd and goofy sometimes. However, her style on the stage is totally different from how she usually is, which is her charm. She also has “synesthesia” so please take notice of that part of her as well!

    D4DJ First Mix released the first episode on October 22nd for early streaming. Are there any scenes from the 1st episode that was memorable to you? Are there any parts that the fans should pay special attention to?

  Nishio: The scene where Rinku learns how to DJ from Maho was a memorable scene for me. Maho shows Rinku how to DJ, and she explains it as well so the audience can also understand what a DJ does, so please take a close look at that scene! Another scene would be the one right after that where Rinku senses that “WOW WAR TONIGHT” is coming up next; it was also a memorable scene to me since I have similar experiences often. 

  Aimi: The concert scene with Peaky P-key! It was so lively! I felt the excitement and couldn’t stop myself from dancing! I want everyone to watch it again and again!

  Tsumugi: The first episode was already very “Happy Around!” like! (Laugh) I love their energy and how lively they are. The opening song is filled with their energy, and I love it! I also sing in the opening for a little bit as Saki with Kyoko-san, and their relationship is so precious…so please enjoy the opening song as well!

    “DJ” is the theme of D4DJ. What kind of impression do you have about DJ's? Was there any change to your impression before and after joining the project?

  Nishio: My impression of DJ’s didn’t change since I used to DJ at a club before joining D4DJ. However, clubs had an intimidating impression for me since I thought it would be full of party people before I started DJing. Now, DJing is a fun tool to share our favorite music and to enjoy music indefinitely by mixing and arranging!  

Aimi: I didn’t have much knowledge about DJs before, but I got to feel how limitless music is! There are no restrictions to the performances, so I enjoy trying different methods to create exciting concerts!

  Tsumugi: Since I also play a role as a DJ in a different title, I appreciated the joy of DJing through my role again. In the beginning, I was wondering “what does a DJ do?”, so I hope more people will know about the DJs through D4DJ!

    When playing your character in the anime, is there anything you prepare in advance?

  Nishio: Rinku is usually full of energy and excitement, so I uplift my mood as well before I play her by listening to my favorite songs or by running to physically energize myself.

  Aimi: Kyoko is a role that requires convincing dance skills and high-level performances, so I started with building my stamina. I’m going to try my best to create her charismatic atmosphere!

  Tsumugi: Actually, I had recorded for “D4DJ Groovy Mix” before the recording for the anime, so I was able to go into the role smoothly compared to back then. When I play her, I’m extra careful about not faking her cuteness. Saki has this pure and natural cuteness, so I try not to break that image of her.

    Please tell us what you hope for the fans to expect in the future development after the 1st episode from your own perspective.

  Nishio: All the members will be gathered and Happy Around! will be formed. Please look forward to how Happy Around! will grow, and how they build their friendship. There are concert scenes in each episode, so that’s also something to look forward to as well! 

  Aimi: In the first episode, the story of HapiAra-chan (*Happy Around!) excited me all the way from the beginning to the end. I think Kyoko felt the same way. Please look forward to how the members of Peaky P-key will come into the story!

  Tsumugi: Please make sure to check out when and how Photon Maiden will be involved in the story, and how they will interact with HapiAra-san (Happy Around!) I suppose the key point is that Photon Maiden is a unique group since it has a producer and the members were selected from an audition!

    The official YouTube channel is streaming D4DJ First Mix with subtitles in 7 languages, and anime fans all over the world are watching. Is there anything you would like to tell the overseas fans?
