I wrote down the medicine cat lineages for all 4 clans up to omen of the stars

I figured I'd share, but my camera quality is bad and my handwriting is barely legible so I will be writing the names of cats on here along with my notes on each one. By the way, this post WILL be very long. I'm warning you.

Thunderclan-

Original medicine cat: Cloudspots

The next cat on the timeline is Kestrelwing, who was the medicine cat in Cloudstar's Journey. They could have mentored the next cat on the timeline, but I find that very unlikely.

The next cat is Oatspeckle, who is cited as the deceased medicine cat who mentored Ravenwing in Mapleshade's Vengeance, however, since they were already dead we never really get to know what he looked like. Just that he mentored Ravenwing.

After Ravenwing was murdered by Mapleshade, the Riverclan medicine cat Cloudberry, who's mentor was Echosnout, takes over medicine cat duties in Thunderclan since Echosnout was able to carry on Riverclan duties on her own.

Cloudberry mentors Goosefeather, who mentors Featherwhisker, who mentors Spottedleaf.

After Spottedleaf dies without an apprentice, Yellowfang of Shadowclan takes over as Tc's medicine cat. After this the medicine cat line up is well known, but I will continue anyway.

RIVERCLAN-

Original medicine cat: Dappledpelt

The next cat on the line is Icewhisker, the Riverclan medicine cat cited in Cloudstar's Journey. Icewhisker could have mentored Echosnout, the next cat on the line, but I find it unlikely.

Echosnout was the Riverclan medicine cat shown in Goosefeather's Curse, and presumably the one in Mapleshade's Vengeance, though no Riverclan medicine cat was mentioned in that novella. Echosnout mentored Cloudberry, and probably Milkfur, but it is unclear.

Milkfur may have originally been a warrior, but it can't be said for certain as it is a somewhat common name. There is a Riverclan warrior named Milkfur in Mapleshade's Vengeance, who is only described as a white she-cat. But there is also a Riverclan medicine cat Milkfur in Yellowfang's prophecy, who was presumably pretty old as I think they only show up in Allegiances as the cat who mentored Brambleberry. Yes, they would have had to be ancient to be the same cat, but if they were a fairly young warrior, its not impossible. They presumably were at least slightly younger than Cloudberry and Echosnout. Though Nettlebreeze who was an apprentice during Mapleshade's Vengeance was the oldest cat in the clan by the next book in the timeline, maybe Milkfur just ages slower. This is my conspiracy. Why would there be two Milkfurs in that close of proximity to each other? If they were two different cats they may have even existed at the same time, probably not both with their full names though.. just saying..

Anyways the next medicine cat on the timeline is Brambleberry, who mentored Mudfur.

Mudfur is usually seen as a cat who was originally a warrior but became a medicine cat after his wife died, specifically in Crookedstar's Promise, but in some books and novellas, especially ones that have medicine cats for main characters, he is shown as a medicine cat apprentice. I would argue that him originally being a warrior is the more canon version though.

After Mudfur, comes Mothwing, who was also originally a warrior, but began medicine cat training fairly soon after receiving her warrior name.

Mothwing mentors Willowshine, who receives guidance about communicating with Starclan from the TC medicine cat Leafpool because Mothwing is an atheist.

SHADOWCLAN-

Original Medicine Cat: Pebbleheart

The next known medicine cat on the timeline is Molepelt, who I'm like 90% sure we know who his apprentice was and he was shown in Yellowfang's Secret telling Yellowfang that Molepelt is a bit senile and not everything he says should be taken seriously, but I couldn't find that scene for the life of me while skimming, and I don't feel like rereading all of Yellowfang's Secret just to find one name. If anyone CAN find it though please share this information!!! Also Molepelt was the Shadowclan medicine cat in Cloudstar's Journey.

The next cat that I know of in the timeline is Sloefur, the medicine cat in Mapleshade's Vengeance. I'm assuming he was mentored by whoever Molepelt's apprentice was. Unfortunately as stated previously I do not know that.

The next cat is Redthistle, who may have been mentored by Sloefur. She is the medicine cat cited in Goosefeather's Curse. She is also the first cat that I know in the Shadowclan med cat timeline who we know for sure who comes after her.

Redthistle mentors Sagewhisker, who mentors Yellowfang. Yellowfang was originally a warrior, but became a medicine cat because of her special empath powers or whatever. Her and Mothwing have to be my favorite medicine cats who trained as warriors. This also marks the point where the medicine cats in the timeline become part of the main series.

Yellowfang mentors Runningnose, who succeeds her after she joins TC.

Runningnose mentors Littlecloud, who was originally a warrior but was inspired to become a medicine cat after Cinderpelt found a cure for the fatal plague that was devastating SC.

Littlecloud mentors Flametail, who dies before he can become a sole medicine cat or take on an apprentice.

WINDCLAN-

Original Medicine Cat- Mothflight

The next known medicine cat in the line is Larkwing, the Windclan medicine cat in Cloudstar's Journey.

The next known medicine cat is Larkwing... again. Either Windclan was getting uncreative with their gray medicine cat names, or Larkwing is extremely old and trans. I drew them to look exactly the same except the first one is paler and has eyelashes. Congrats on your ftm transition Larkwing!!! Also congrats on your like, 90th birthday!! I'm pretty sure the second Larkwing was the med cat in Mapleshade's Vengeance.

After Larkwing the second, the next medicine cat was Chiveclaw, and it is unclear whether or not Larkwing mentored them.

Chiveclaw mentored Hawkheart, who similar to Mudfur is usually cited as originally training as a warrior, but was shown as a medicine cat in Goosefeather's Curse. Hawkheart is also mean to children. This is shown in Tallstar's Revenge, where he is repeatedly seen being mean to children.

Hawkheart is shown mentoring Barkface in Tallstar's Revenge. Barkface is unnaturally old. He is slightly (though not by much) older than Tallstar himself, and yet he lives much longer despite Tallstar being seen as elderly by the time he dies.

Barkface mentors Kestrelflight, and that is where the timeline ends.

Good job on making it until the end! I hope maybe this was useful in some way. This post also took at least 30 minutes to make, not counting the time spent looking through books and drawing this out. Please send help.

This is a family tree I made of ShadowClan at the beginning of my fanfic Cold Bloodlines!

You'll notice there are a couple "unknown" individuals on here. That means those cats are unknown to the Clan in general (which would be the case for Paledusk, Frostpaw's father too. But since Frostpaw is the main character, he and his extended family are included in this tree.) Anyway though, so in my version of the Clans here, the policy which gives queens the right to not reveal the father of their kits varies by Clan/leader. During this era in ShadowClan, cats won't ask if a queen doesn't name her kits father, but they will still gossip and side-eye. Since nothing is proven though, a queen (and her kits) can't and won't be punished for any code-breaking, unless wrongdoing is admitted by the queen or somehow proven.

In general though, this is something that ShadowClan is typically willing to look the other way about, since there is an understanding that some influx of fresh blood keeps the Clan healthy by preventing inbreeding. But, there are still occasionally times in which queens want to avoid any scrutiny all together, which occurred in the case of Dappledpelt. She had a fling with a rogue and when she realized she was expecting kits, she was terrified of the Clan finding out. This led her to confessing the truth to her best friend, Swoopstrike, and he offered to allow her to tell the Clan that he was the father. So all of ShadowClan believes that he is father of Leafbreeze.

Did you know in canon, apparently Runningwind and Dappledpelt had two kids? Cricketkit and Featherkit. Both died young

Wellll, t's canon that Dappletail had a white tom kit with blue eyes who was deaf and disappeared after he turned three moons.

Runningwind being his dad and him having a sister named Cricketkit isn't in the source material, and not something I personally consider canon.
