delicate who?
pairing : badboy!iso x soft!gn!reader
notes : established relationship (this is after they started dating), bad boy x sunshine trope, fluff fluff fluff >.<

Iso arrived at the front of your house, being extra mindful not to rev his bike too much. The last thing he needed was for your parents to come out and give him grief. Not that he minded particularly, but he had to be on his best behaviour in front of his future in-laws.
After all, he wanted to make a good impression.
He put up his helmet visor, still sitting on his bike, and texted you.
Yuyu 🐼 : I'm waiting outside, sweetheart.
Five minutes later...
Yuyu 🐼 : Babe?
Y/N: I'm still choosing which shoes to wear!!!
Iso chuckled to himself, shaking his head. What would you do without him, huh?
Without a second thought, he removed his helmet, setting it down carefully on the seat. He then walked up to your front porch, the wooden steps creaking slightly under his heavy combat boots. Just as he was about to knock on the door, it swung open, revealing the ever-adorable you, perched in front of him with an excited grin.
“Yuyu!” you squealed, throwing your arms around him in a tight hug. The faint smell of cigarette smoke still clung to his leather jacket, mixing with the scent of your floral perfume. It was a comforting and familiar combination.
You stepped back, biting your lip as you gestured to your feet. “I don’t know what shoes to wear…”
“And that’s why I’m here to save the day, baby,” Iso said, giving your cheek a light pinch, causing you to let out a tiny squeak.
He stepped into the hallway, his eyes scanning through the assortment of shoes lined up by the door. After a moment of consideration, he picked out a pair of white sneakers. “These suit your outfit best. Plus, we don’t want your feet to hurt tonight, do we?” He knelt in front of you, gently guiding your foot into the shoe.
You shook your head, watching as he tied the laces with practised ease. You giggled softly when he gently patted your thighs. “Alright, let’s get going.”
“Did you bring my helmet?” you asked, looking up at him with wide eyes.
“Of course, the one with cat ears on em’,” he replied with a smile, retrieving the helmet from his bike.
Arrived at the club
Iso's palm, which was resting on the small of your back, moved to grip your waist instinctively as you both entered the crowded and noisy venue. The air was thick with the scent of sweat, perfume, and alcohol. The music pulsed through the room, a steady thump-thump-thump that you could feel in your bones. Iso led you further into the club, your eyes darting around as you tried to spot familiar faces. Knowing it was your first time at a club, he wanted to ensure you were comfortable and happy. But as he leaned in to take a closer look at your face, he realised he might not need to worry so much.
You looked up at him, eyes wide and doe-like. “What?”
“Nothing,” Iso said, trying to hold in his chuckle. “You look beautiful tonight. Beautiful as ever.”
You blushed, a rosy hue spreading across your cheeks, which earned a soft smile from him. Then, you heard a familiar voice.
“It’s about time!”
Iso perked up, recognizing the happy voice of Gekko, who was walking towards you both.
“Gekko!” you squealed, quickly moving to hug the taller guy. The embrace was warm and filled with the excitement of friends reuniting.
“Hey, sweets! Looking pretty as always,” Gekko said, dismissing Iso’s playful touch on your hair. “Everyone’s been waiting for y’all. Come on.”
Iso nodded, placing his hand back on the small of your back as Gekko led you to the rest of your friends. The crowd parted slightly, giving way to your group of friends huddled around a tall table.
“You hungry?” Iso asked, his voice barely audible over the din of the club.
You shook your head, fiddling with your purse. “I’m thirsty, though…”
Iso let out a tiny chuckle. “The party hasn’t even started, and you’re already thirsty?”
“I-It’s hot in here! You can’t blame me…” You stomped your foot lightly, pouting up at him. Your actions made Iso chuckle, his chest vibrating with the sound.
Iso left you with his friends whilst he went to order your drinks. He navigated the crowded bar with ease, returning a few minutes later with drinks in both hands. He saw your eyes light up at the sight of your favourite drink in his hand. The strawberry milkshake was topped with whipped cream and a cherry, just the way you liked it.
You settled comfortably on Iso’s lap, your soft hands playing with his hair, while he caught up with his group of friends around the table. They talked and laughed over beers, the camaraderie evident in their easy banter.
One of his friends voiced out, “You won big, Iso.” discreetly mentioning you.
“Yeah, didn’t expect you to soften up like this because you know… you’ve always been, rough.”
“Heh, wouldn’t be surprised if this dude ends up with flowers around him.”
Iso rolled his eyes, tightening his arms around you, seemingly annoyed with his friends’ remarks as they bursted into laughter.
“Shut the fuck up…”
Suddenly, you started squirming on his lap, discomfort etched on your face. The loud noise and the overwhelming crowd were starting to get to you. Iso noticed immediately, his protective instincts kicking in.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Iso asked, his voice gentle and concerned, leaning in closer to hear you over the din of the club.
“S’ loud… hurting my ears…” you mumbled, leaning into him for solace.
Iso knew he couldn’t let you stay uncomfortable any longer. He leaned back, his hand coming up to fix the hair that had fallen over your face. Iso knew he shouldn’t have brought you here; you’ve always hated loud noises and big crowds. But, sighing, he realised you were too stubborn, and Iso just couldn’t say no when it came to you.
Whatever his sweetheart wanted, he made sure to provide.
“Can I go, pleaseeeeeee can I can I?” you had pleaded,
“Y/N, for the last time—” Iso had started, frustration evident in his voice. But then you looked up at him with those wide, pleading doe eyes, and his resolve crumbled.
“Alright, alright. But, you gotta stay with me at all times, okay?” he had relented, his voice softening as you cupped his face, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.
“Thanks, Yuyu ~!”
“Wanna get out of here?” he asked, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on your back.
You shook your head in response, tightening your arms around his waist. “I wanna be with you…”
“Hey, hey, shh… I’ll always be with you, okay? Whatever you want, baby,” he reassured you, his lips brushing against your temple.
You didn’t respond, instead tightening your embrace, your face buried in his chest.
“Alright, how about we leave this party and go home? We can cuddle, watch your favourite movies, or… whatever you want. I’ll stay over at your house tonight.” He murmured into your ear, his calloused hands rubbing your back for comfort.
Your face lit up. “Really? Don’t you have work tomorrow—”
“It’s no big deal, yeah? Don’t worry your pretty little head about it,” he assured you, his smile warm and genuine.
Iso knew he'd get an earful from his boss for coming in late tomorrow, but it is not as bad compared to the thought of leaving you at home with tearful eyes while hugging his leg, pleading him to stay,
Trust me, this is not the first time. He could handle it.
Iso nodded as an assurance, which earned small kisses all over his face from you. He chuckled, relieved that he could put a smile on your face. When both of you left, his friends couldn’t believe their eyes.
“Told you, man, he’s whipped as hell. That dude is far gone!” one of them remarked, shaking his head in disbelief.
While waiting for Iso to put on your helmet outside, you asked, “Yuyu?”
“Yeah?” he responded, looking at you with those soft eyes that made your heart flutter.
“Can we get, um… ice cream on the way back?” you asked, your voice hopeful and sweet.
“Of course, I’ll take you to your favourite place. How about that?” he replied, a smile spreading across his face.
You nodded excitedly, your eyes sparkling as he securely fastened the helmet on your head.

Nightowl's Birthday Special: Shadows and Snow
(A/N: Welcome to my Birthday Special Fanfiction~ How are you guys doing? My birthday was on August 10! I know, I'm months late. But I hope you guys still enjoy this fanfiction nonetheless.)
(I gave the reader ice abilities, and Iso some shadow abilities because imagining Iso with shadow abilities makes me cum. I know. It will probably make you too.)
GN!Reader x Iso
TW: Obsession (I love the obsession trope. It's my birthday special, so I decided to make it my favorite trope. I made the reader SUPER COOL and SUPER NONCHALANT at first because why not.)
The streets were alive with chaos. Explosions shook the ground, and gunfire echoed in every corner. The enemy had unleashed their most dangerous weapon, and the mission seemed doomed.
Amid the chaos, you moved like a ghost. Your ice-coated boots barely made a sound through the broken remains of a building, your eyes scanning every shadow.
Suddenly, a movement caught your attention. A figure darted through the smoke, fast and fluid. But something was off. The way they stumbled. You grip your Vandal tighter and creep forward.
Just as you were about to turn a corner, you heard a groan. You peer through the smoke and debris and see him—Iso. The notorious agent, known for his ability to manipulate shadows and disappear at will, was on his knees, bleeding from a deep gash on his side.
You froze. You heard about him. The lone wolf. The assassin who never worked with anyone. But right now, Iso didn't look invincible. He looked human. And vulnerable.
Without a second thought, you rush to his side. You crouch next to him, your hands glowing faintly with ice energy as you press them to his wound, slowing the bleeding.
Iso's eyes snapped open, his hand instinctively reaching for his gun, but his vision blurred as he recognized the figure kneeling beside him.
"It's you..." he rasped, barely able to form words.
"Stay still," you command, your voice cold but steady as your icy powers worked to freeze the blood long enough for him to heal. "You're lucky I found you."
You ignore the comment, focusing on stabilizing him. Iso watched you work, fascinated by the contrast of your delicate hands and the deadly power you wield.
Something was mesmerizing about your calm under pressure. As you work, the world seems to fade away in Iso's eyes. He found himself staring, the pain in his side forgotten for a moment.
You glanced at him. "You'll live, but you owe me one."
Iso chuckled, though it was cut short by the pain. "I don't... like owing people."
"You'll get over it." You scoff, standing up.
-
The mission was somehow completed. Both you and Iso had made it out alive, though barely. Days later, back at base, Iso couldn't get you out of his head. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw you — the way your icy powers had flowed through your hands with such precision, the way you had saved him without hesitation.
It gnawed at him. He wasn't used to needing anyone, let alone being saved by someone.
He found himself wandering the halls of the base, looking for you. Obsessing over his and your encounter, replaying it over and over again. He knew he should be focusing on his recovery, on the next mission, but you had become a fixation.
He wanted to understand — this mysterious person who had appeared in his life at his most vulnerable moment.
When he finally found you, you were in the training room, perfecting your aim. Your breath was steady, your movements fluid as you fired shot after shot with pinpoint accuracy. Iso watched from the shadows, his haze never leaving you.
"You always watch from the dark, or are you planning on saying something this time?" Your voice broke the silence, your eyes never leaving your target.
Iso smirked, stepping into the light. "You noticed."
"I always notice," You replied coolly, finally turning to face him. "What do you want?"
He wasn't sure how to answer that. He wasn't used to wanting anything from anyone. But this... this was different.
"You saved me," he said after a pause, his voice low. "I don't forget things like that."
You tilt your head slightly, your expression unreadable. "You're welcome."
There was a moment of silence. Iso, normally quick with a retort, found himself at a loss for words. His obsession with you was growing by the minute, and he didn't understand it. All he knew was that he needed to be near you. To figure you out. To see if the ice-cold interior you showed to the world was real, or if there was something more beneath it.
You sense his inner turmoil, narrowing your eyes. "You're not used to people helping you, are you?"
Iso clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. "No."
"Then stop following me around," You say bluntly, turning back to your target. "I'm not one of your shadows."
Your words stung, but Iso wasn't deterred. Instead, they fueled his obsession. He wanted to know why you had saved him, why you had chosen to help someone like him.
And more than that, he wanted to understand your identity behind the ice.
-
Over the next few weeks, Iso's fixation on you only deepened. He found excuses to train with you, to be in the same missions, always watching you, always drawn to the cold precision in which you operated. You intrigued him in a way no one ever had, and that both frustrated and thrilled him.
You, for your part, remained as distant as ever, though you couldn't deny the strange pull you felt towards Iso. He was reckless, unpredictable, and everything you usually despised in a teammate. Yet, there was something about the way he looked at you, the intensity in his gaze, that made you pause.
It wasn't long before Iso's obsession became undeniable, even to him.
One night, after a particularly grueling mission, Iso cornered you in the empty hallways of the base. His eyes, dark and intense, more into yours as he finally voiced the thoughts that had been consuming him.
"I can't stop thinking about you," he confessed, his voice rough. "You saved me. And now... I can't stay away."
Your heart raced, though your expression remained calm. "You're confusing gratitude with something else."
"No," Iso growled, stepping closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "It's more than that."
You met his gaze, ice meeting shadow, and for the first time, you didn't have a quick reply. The tension between them crackled, and the lines between the mission and obsession blurred.
Iso's expression darkened, his hand gently brushing your arm. "I don't want to conquer you. I just want... to understand."
You pulled away, your eyes cold and conflicted. "Then stop trying so hard."
But as you walked away, Iso knew it was too late. He was already too deep. And somehow, he sensed that beneath your icy walls, you were just as trapped in this dangerous game as he was.
-
The tension between you and Iso grew thicker with each passing day, yet something in you had begun to shift. Where once Iso's constant presence had felt suffocating, now it was... familiar. You could sense him before he entered a room, always lurking in the shadows, waiting, watching.
It was unnerving, yes, but there was a strange comfort in his obsession.
You had always been alone, used to standing apart from the others. Your ice powers isolated you, both physically and emotionally. Most of your teammates respected you, but none dared to come too close.
Until Iso.
At first, you tolerated his fixation, thinking it would pass. But now you begin to wonder if, in some twisted way, Iso understood you. He wasn't afraid of the cold, the distance. He wasn't put off by your silence or the walls you kept around yourself.
Instead, he seemed drawn to it, captivated by your very detachment.
It wasn't long before you stopped pushing him away.
-
One evening, after a particularly exhausting mission, you were sitting in the quiet of your room, your mind replaying the events of the day. You had barely noticed Iso slipping into the room, as silent as a shadow, until he was standing in front of you.
"You shouldn't be here," you said, though your tone lacked its usual sharpness.
You looked up at him, your eyes meeting his dark, intense gaze. You knew you should tell him to leave, set boundaries, and stop this before it spiraled further.
But something inside you couldn't. Maybe it was the exhaustion from the mission or the loneliness that had been creeping into your heart for far too long.
"You're obsessed with me," you say simply, but without accusation.
Iso didn't deny it. "I am."
"And you're not going to stop, are you?"
He shook his head, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "No."
You leaned back in your chair, studying him. The old you—the you that had thrived on isolation—would have iced him out long ago. But something about Iso's unwavering devotion had worn you down. Maybe it was the intensity, the way he never faltered in his obsession.
Or maybe it was that part of you, the part that you tried so hard to keep frozen, that longed for connection.
"You're a fool," you said softly.
Iso knelt in front of you, his gaze never leaving yours. "Maybe. But I'm your fool."
You felt a small, almost imperceptible crack in the ice around your heart. You should have stopped this—should have pulled away before it became something darker, something dangerous.
But instead, you let him stay. His presence was suffocating, yes, but it was also strangely comforting. He was there, always there, and for once, you didn't feel completely alone.
You didn't speak as Iso reached for your hand, his fingers brushing against your cold skin. The touch was electric, sending a shiver down your spine, though you kept your face composed.
"I can't stay away from you," Iso whispered, his voice raw with need. "I don't want to."
Your eyes flicked to his, your usual icy exterior melting just a fraction. "Then don't."
For the first time, you let him in. Just a little. It wasn't love, not yet, but it was somethingsomething that tugged at the cold, hard edges of your soul. Iso's obsession was dark, unhealthy even, but there was a part of you that welcomed it, needed it. Maybe you had been in the cold for too long.
Iso smiled, a rare softness in his features as he realized what just happened. You had accepted him, accepted his obsession. He leaned in closer, his breath warm against your skin as he whispered, "I'll always be here."
"I know," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.
For better or for worse, you had let Iso in. You knew it wouldn't be easy, knowing that his fixation on you was more dangerous than he let on. But for now, you had let yourself sink into the darkness of it, letting the shadows close in around you both.
For the first time in a long time, you weren't entirely alone.
-
(A/N: How was this? Thank you for the support, everyone! Obsession is one of my favorite tropes, and I hope you guys like this one too.)

Phyllobates Doing A Hongi

Phyllobates bicolor or black-legged poison dart frogs sharing a Maori greeting in in their tank in Reptopia. Photo credit: Eleanor Chua.
The tank was very dimly lit and the ISO had need to be pushed to 6400 to get a shutter speed of a mere 1/80 second for this 300mm crop. Thankfully, the image came out sharp although details weren’t that great.

One Hazy Winter [Iso x F! Reader] [2]
[ Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 / Part 6 ]
Genre: Angst, fluff
TW: Depression and implied suicide
Words: 4.7k
Synopsis: One winter before his disappearance, you told your boyfriend Yu about a question you’ve had for so long; one even he could hardly respond to. It took many more hopeless winters for you to finally have your answer.
Note: Please don't copy or steal my work and pass it off as your own! If you'd like to use one of my headcanons or something, I'd love it if you tagged or asked. Also, happy new year!!! 2025 boutta be my year lads
。+❤ฺ·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ· +❤·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ·
Winter, present day.
Sitting on your bed and staring blankly at the wall became one of your top hobbies. And with Yu’s disappearance, with no one left to make you aware as to how fatuous and even harmful this habit was, it only moved up the dwindling list.
In fact, you’d been sitting there and reminiscing for the past five hours. Though you’d usually wear headphones to go along with it, this year, you avoided your earbuds like the plague.
They were tucked away, hidden, collecting dust in your drawer since last winter. And all you had to accompany you as noise were the sounds of the people outside, their chatter muffled by the closed windows. The air was still, your muscles were aching, and your mind was crowded with pessimism.
Losing Yu was almost like the process of losing your parents, minus the denial part of it. There wasn’t one thing in this town that didn’t remind you of him.
The path you took home reminded you of him. The bus he usually took that would pass by you, the blankets, the scent of lemons… Heck, even the rocks he’d kick sometimes whilst you both walked, you swore you saw some of them on the way home today, as if they were jeering at you.
Although Yu helped you somewhat move on from your parents after nearly two decades of grief when you both met, this time, there wasn’t another ‘Yu’ to help you move on from this loss. And you knew Ying wasn’t one to fit this criteria. Not when she was your boss. But… would you even be able to do something like this on your own?
Maybe you were just meant to be alone. Hey, maybe this was your penance for… some wrongdoing you couldn’t think of.
However, whilst you were staring, a sudden rush of adrenaline coursed through your body. And you found yourself passing through your bedroom door in the blink of an eye for no good reason.
You were already in the living room with only a few short steps. And the very sight of the cramped area made your stomach churn. Blankets strewn about on the couch and the two armchairs on each side, the remote on the coffee table that was slightly angled to the left, and the grey tufts of the plain carpet that swayed despondently with each passing second. Nothing had moved, and the only change was the dust that began gathering thanks to the neglect.
Your eyes immediately darted to the corner of the living room, and that simply move answered the question that popped up in your mind.
The plant died. Just as expected. Shrivelled up, starved and dry, its thin branches curled up like the bony fingers of a decade-old corpse.
…
You could already hear Yu in your ear, sensing your grief and looking to cheer you up any way he could. ‘Would you like me to empty that for you?’ he’d say. Then, he’d grab it and take it outside before you’d give him the confirmation, the thought of people judging him not even popping up in his mind.
You were sure he’d then try to convince you that it was okay. It was just one plant, you can always replace it. Besides, houseplants weren’t your specialty, were they?
How sweet of him, you thought. Lying and doing anything to spare your feelings.
You then felt a pang of shame. Aside from work, you hadn’t done anything today. What would Yu say about that? Whatever it was, it wouldn’t be something pleasing to hear, that’s for sure. You might as well do something productive and empty the thing. Declutter a bit. Besides, your muscles were starting to ache from staying still for too long.
You grabbed the maroon pot by the rim on each side. Then, with a deep breath, you began pulling it back, using all of your remaining strength to move it outside of the living room without dropping any of the dirt inside. God knows you wouldn’t find the willpower to clean that up, you already used up all of it today back at work and… staying alive in general. But then, another concerning thought popped up in your mind.
If this was how the one houseplant you kept looked like, the thought of what was in the balcony only sent shivers down your spine.
❤ฺ·。
The bell above let out a peculiarly jolly jingle once you swung the door and entered the café for today’s shift. It was a detail you didn't care enough to note, not since you were too focused on letting your eyes get used to the repetitive chequered patterns on the walls and the mind-numbing music that played. That, combined with the dull morning that hardly differed from the others, you didn’t even realise you slid out of bed today.
However, it wasn’t until Ying’s voice immediately filled your ears, her tone pleasantly complementing said bell and snapping you from your half-asleep zombie-like state.
“There you are! How’s my little gardener doing?”
She almost spoke in a musical-like cheerful tone, each word rhythmically leading to the next. Ying stood behind the register with a confident posture. Shoulders back, hands on hips, wide smile, and her ponytail ever so gently swaying with the weak breeze that entered from the nearby window like a particularly shy child.
Even the people outside seemed to share the feeling of gloom you always carried you around. So her attitude weirded you out for a second, especially with everything going on, but that’s not what you wanted to ask her about.
“Gardener?”
“Yes! You took the seeds home from yesterday, remember? Ah, now that I mention them…”
Right, the seeds you sealed in a bag and tossed in the back of your fridge. It’s not like you planned on doing anything with them, it was more so done by instinct. You didn’t even know if putting them in the fridge was good for them, you thought as you made your way behind the counter.
“What happened to them, if I may ask?”
She questioned thoughtfully, one finger on her chin. Her tone bore a hint of eagerness only found in her or Yu’s voice. And though it upset you, you worked to not let this sway the conversation.
“I haven’t done anything besides rinse them.”
“I insist you try, Y/N. It could be a productive use of your time!”
It was painfully obvious what she was referring to. And you weren’t amused, despite how subtle she tried to be about it.
“I can hardly keep a potted plant alive, Ying. What makes you think I can get back to something like gardening?”
‘You make it look so easy’ everyone said whenever they used to see you march in with tropical fruit you harvested from the trees on your balcony. But it wasn’t. God knows it wasn’t easy at all.
It took years upon years of practice to get to where you were in terms of knowledge. That, and it only took one loss for you to slip down a hole that forced you to list out reasons as to why you should bother making lunch for the day.
“You did it before, I am highly certain you can do it again. No, in fact, I am confident you can!”
Her eyes sparkled with an inappropriate amount of anticipation. A sparkle that nearly competed with her teal earrings in terms of brightness. Seems like making that juice yesterday set off a bomb of hope inside of her, for some reason. And it didn’t look like she was giving up any time soon.
You held up a hand.
“I appreciate the thought, but–”
“You should do it!”
You jumped once she took your hand in hers, the warmth from her soft skin providing an abundance of comfort.
“I’m not waiting a whole year for a measly harvest of two wrinkly fruits.”
Almost like she didn’t hear you, Ying continued happily letting the words flow out of her mouth.
“There’s a shop nearby that sells garden ready plants. And if I recall correctly, they started selling passion fruit, as well. Perhaps you can give that a try?”
A sigh escaped you. You knew that shop. In what world would a former gardener not know something like that?
But it didn’t seem like she was catching on to your body language, either. You were practically begging to be let go from this conversation and just go to work. The thought of dealing with customers was daunting enough already. However…
Okay, this wasn’t one of your proudest talents, but when reasoning didn’t work, you had another technique on how to make someone as airheaded as Ying shut up. You used it on Yu a lot, after all. But only as a last resort.
“Okay. Fine. I’m convinced. I’ll look into it after work. Alone,”
You counted down for the response you expected from her. And, just as you thought, she lit up at this, grinning widely.
“Tell me how it goes, okay? And– and if you’d like any help, I’ll be one text away.”
“Got it.”
You mumbled and walked past her, finally making your way into the familiar yet very unfriendly arms of the back of the counter, clocking in.
Ugh. ‘I’ll be one text away’, she said. You almost felt guilty. Bosses like Ying were hard to come by. And the fact she even cared about your mental health set her value in stone. Yet here you were, brushing off her attempts to cheer you up.
You pushed away the feelings of guilt. If you were going to feel bad, you weren’t going to do it during work. Maybe when you get back and lie back down.
❤ฺ·。
There was one question you knew Ying most likely wouldn’t have known the answer to whilst she spoke to you about getting back to gardening.
Who bloody cares?
Really, who cared whether or not you went back to gardening? And even if you did, what would you do with the fruit you’d get? It’s not like baking was a priority for you. You could barely get out of bed on most days, let alone use said harvest to produce some sort of dessert or jam, or whatever. That stuff was complicated.
That, and you hardly visited Yu’s grandmother anymore for her monthly lemon dessert. You couldn’t handle the thought.
But you didn’t ask, mostly because you didn’t really want to upset her. Questions like that were more personal to Ying than they ever were to Yu. You weren’t sure why, but you attributed it to her valuing life to an abnormal degree. And, you know, the philosophy stuff.
You aimed to rush home as soon as you could. Walk down the familiar path, ignore that cursed shop, and just get to bed. It seemed reasonable and quite easy. Like every other day. No, like every day. You were just crawling back to the comfort of lamenting the past, of dreading the future and hating the present.
The routine started to sicken you.
You stopped in the middle of your path. Fists clenched, buried deep within your pockets, and the sweat that dripped down your chin despite the blankets of snow around you only added on to the abundance of discomfort you felt. Then, you turned back and walked towards the shop you worked so hard to ignore just a few moments prior.
You used your spare money to buy a garden ready passion fruit plant. You had no idea why you were doing this. You had no idea why you would waste your money on something so expensive, just for it to probably die because you couldn’t even take care of yourself. Should you be even doing this in the winter? Wasn’t winter notorious for death?
And yet, with all of this, you still walked out with an empty wallet and a plant to care for.
The very thought of getting up every day and having to water it made your stomach churn. But the only bright side was that this thing didn’t remind you of Yu or your parents. It was just some plant, and passion fruit was your favourite fruit. So, grief couldn’t ruin this for you. Right? Yeah, no. Your mother liked passion fruit, as well.
This was going to be more difficult than you imagined it to be. But, to be fair, most things were.
A sigh escaped you as you set the plant inside the vast pot and dumped the extra soil around it. With its roots spread out, it should be safe for it to adapt in this new environment despite the season. However, though you were careful, bits of soil had managed to pour out of the pot and onto the ground whilst you wrapped it around the plant.
You cared for about a few picoseconds, before another thing took over your mind.
With the soil finally surrounding the plant, you dusted your hands off and grabbed the rim of the brown pot on each side. Then, with a huff, you began moving once more. Moving it into the large windows that welcomed the sharp rays of the sun with open arms. Only a few, sure, but they were strong enough and managed to bleed through the blanket of clouds outside.
There should be enough sunlight for it to grow. And now, with water and some fertiliser, it should bear fruit in about a few…
…
You couldn’t really remember. Wait, should you be even using fertiliser…?
Nevertheless, you stood back and admired your work. But instead of feeling pride, all you thought about was how the leaves and branches were long enough to press up against the walls and the curtains, despite how much distance you worked to put in between them. And exhausted was too tame a word to describe what you felt.
It shouldn’t be too much of an issue, the optimistic side of you thought… unless the main branch grows long enough to hit the ceiling.
‘Are you sure there’s enough space?’
Yu asked curiously, earning that same vacant look from you. Though he couldn’t see it since he stood behind you, he knew you long enough to the point that he could sense it through the heavy air.
Ugh.
“I’ll make space.”
You said between gritted teeth, annoyed at your inability to push away his words. Maybe he was the optimistic side of you, sitting in your brain like an annoying wasp that would sting you randomly.
‘You should look into getting a bigger spot.’
“Not everyone has a lush house all for themselves, Yu–”
You turned to angrily face him, but the only thing your eyes landed on were the drab grey walls of your apartment.
Right. Yu wasn’t here. He was gone.
Why did you remember what he used to say? You thought as you nervously faced the plant once more, filling in the empty spots with the surrounding piles of soil.
Maybe it’s because he always stuck to you like a row of ducklings to their mother. Or… you just really missed him. And you wanted to apologise for that burst of anger, even though his presence was just a distant memory. Ugh, whatever.
You forgot about him and your parents while you were moving the pot and the plant. Unfortunately, that short-lived moment of peace immediately faltered once you were done, and you were back to the miserable prison you called a ‘mind’. Maybe this is what happens when you try to get out of your comfort zone. When you try to do something other than lay in bed or mindlessly take customers’ orders like a bloody zombie.
A huff escaped you, and you left to wash your hands. You need to get back to bed pronto. This gardening rubbish wasn’t healthy for you anymore.
❤ฺ·。
Winter, two and a half years ago.
You spent eight hours awake today. But they weren’t really productive by your standards.
Six spent in bed, and two on the couch with Yu’s fingers intertwined with yours. His thumb had been outlining the lines on your palm for so long, it felt like he started digging into your skin. Today was a workday, not a weekday. And neither of you made it to the café for, admittedly, no solid reason. For you, anyway. Your boyfriend probably found a good way to put what happened into words given his impressive eloquence.
Yu waited outside for you by the gate like every other morning. Despite the thicker clothes he wore for today, the temperature still seemed to take its effect on him. Nevertheless, he ignored the lingering cold of the blizzard that had occurred yesterday in favour of accompanying you.
But you didn’t show up. Which was… weird, to say the least. You didn’t mention anything about taking the day off today, and Ying didn’t send him any texts either, so…
He waited and waited. Then, he took out his phone and decided to call you. Once, twice, three times… No answer. Then, he sent a few texts. But still, there was naught of a response from you despite how long he had been standing outside. The cold began stinging the exposed skin of his cheeks and fingers. It felt like pins and needles plunged into him, but in this moment, such discomfort felt frivolous to think about.
The clock struck eight, but you were still nowhere to be seen. And despite the state of your mental health, the contingency of you being late for work was one silly to even consider. So, what on earth was going on?
“What’s the wait for, son? It’s getting cold out here.”
A gravelly voice snapped him from the terror that had been building up, and he looked up to see the security guard standing on the other side of the gate. A cigarette was hung from his lips, the smoke billowing from it complementing the vapour from his mouth as he spoke.
Though they’d never once had a conversation, only throwing glances at each other whenever he’d pass by, waiting outside your complex rendered them both used to the other by now.
Wait, that’s right, Yu thought. He was the security guard.
“Oh, I was just…” he pocketed his phone, “did you see Y/N this morning?”
He took a drag of his cigarette, before leaning on the black gates.
“Nope. Didn’t leave her apartment since yesterday.”
Yu’s heart dropped, and his face blanched.
This worried him. This really worried him. What happened to you? Were you hurt? Did you even wake up today?! What if you…
“What about the cameras?”
The guard shook his head.
“I– I need–” he caught himself and quickly fixed his collar, “thank you, sir. I’ll go check on her.”
His mind wandered to the worst places as pushed past the gates and climbed up the flight of stairs. The guard himself hadn’t seen you since last night, and your lack of presence from the footage only made him assume the worst of the worst. And before he could assume anything else, his mind shut itself down and resorted to taking action, blocking any thoughts from forming thanks to the adrenaline that overtook his blood.
He rushed to your apartment with a spare key you gave him a while ago, brute forcing his way in as fast as possible.
But all within a picosecond, relief filled him at the sight he managed to take in.
He was beyond grateful to find out you were just in bed. Lying down, unmoving, still like a statue. The only hint of life being the subtle rise and fall of your chest. Not that you overslept, or anything, your eyes were open. You just couldn’t move, for some reason.
You blinked, your eyes adjusting to the void of black that sat a few feet away from you. It took a few minutes to realise it was just the television, turned off, showing you your still reflection. Sitting up, you took a deep yet slow breath, allowing your stiff muscles to finally stretch.
“I’m sorry for acting like this, Yu. I'm sorry you… missed your shift because of me.”
Though you kept your gaze on the television, you still managed to catch his meek reaction, using the large upstanding collars of his hoodie to conceal the lower portion of his face.
…
“Don’t… worry about it.”
He muttered after a pause. Judging by the blank look on his face, glassy eyes locked on a random spot on the wall, he still seemed… shocked by the whole ordeal. To put it lightly. And with the purple irises, the surprise stuck out even more, his pupils pinpoint like two distant bullets aimed at you.
You brought yourself closer and pulled him into a weak embrace, sighing deeply. To say guilt enfolded you like a whirlwind would be a vast understatement. And you weren’t really sure how to express it, or how to make it up to him.
You knew that, despite how much of his personal life he kept from you, and despite how stiff his voice was, Yu was still emotionally sensitive. Incredibly sensitive, to a degree someone stoic like you wouldn’t be able to understand. And you weren’t sure how not to let something like this happen again, how not to provoke a level of shock you probably hadn’t experienced in a while.
But it only took a few minutes for an idea to pop up in your mind. It wasn’t much, but you’d rather do something.
“Are you visiting your grandmother this month?”
Yu blinked. It took him a few seconds to comprehend that you’d asked him a question, let alone form a response to it. Was he visiting his…
Oh, right.
“I am.” He met your gaze. “Why?”
“Hang on, I have something that’ll cheer you up.”
Yu watched you stand up and disappear into your room, and such a sudden move was successful in dragging him back down to reality. He thought that you were going to take something from your closet, but the unfamiliar sound of the heavy balcony door swinging open promptly slamming shut made him perk up like a curious cat. Was he finally going to see what you kept on the balcony? Satiate the unstoppable force that was his curiosity, perhaps.
The seconds were counted until you finally made your return. And in your hand was something he never would’ve expected. A lemon. Albeit… small. And round. Yu stared at the golden object on your hand, effortlessly reflecting the sunlight off of it, almost as if to show off how pretty it was to Yu.
He stood up and approached, taking it from your hand. His thumb felt it. And judging by the soft texture, a slight tint of orange in its peel, the ever-so subtle squishiness of it; it was perfect. But that wasn't what took priority in his mind.
“Why do– did you, uh, are there lemons on your balcony, Y/N?”
You couldn’t help but smile at his confusion. Either he was extremely excited at that contingency being true, or he was very dumbfounded. Or, you know, both. Which was understandable, somewhat.
“I keep a lemon tree outside. Doesn’t fit here.”
His eyes glimmered, but the rest of his face remained blank. Yu was delighted at this news. In fact, it answered his question as to why there was a leaf still stuck to its pedicel.
“You have… You grow lemons? In here?”
“Did you think I only grew houseplants?”
You gestured to the plant from before, and to say he was simply enamoured by this new piece of information would be a vast understatement.
If it were any other person, Yu wouldn’t have believed them. And it’s not like he was to be blamed. When he put it that way, it sounded preposterous. Growing not only lemons in the winter, but in a cramped apartment, no less. How did you achieve such a thing?!
He looked back at the fruit on his hand.
“This one looks… different.”
You took the lemon from him before his unrelenting inspection would tear the fragile skin open.
“It’s a Meyer lemon, Yu. Quite the small tree. Now come on, I’m going to make a pie with this. There's a bunch more out there, help me harvest them.”
Then, you turned on your heel and moved towards the balcony where you’d just been.
His admiration for you only grew at that sentence. And eagerly, he followed, ready to shamelessly indulge in his lemon addiction. He was excited. So excited, the events that took place an hour ago felt like they never happened at all.
“Meyer lemon?”
He asked as he followed you to your room. Immediately, he glanced at the windows that would give him a view to your balcony, but they were still concealed by your curtains. And out of respect, he never really dared to peer through them even after you gave him permission to.
“You’ll see.”
You moved towards the balcony and opened the door, Yu tugging on his sleeves so that they’d cover his hands before the air would slam against his skin like a brick. Both of you stepped out, the cold hitting him hardly making a dent in how amazed he was at the sight.
To his right was a string of pots containing pretty trees he’d never seen before, The deep green shade of the leaves contrasted beautifully with the vibrant gold of the fruit, hanging from the branches, almost as if they were eager to be plucked and made into some sort of dessert.
“I wanted to surprise you with a lemon pound cake. But that was before… today.”
You mumbled to yourself as you approached what Yu considered to be a work of art. In fact, how casual you were to this sight only increased his respect for you. You grew this, he thought. All behind his back, in a small apartment, alone. How could he not be amazed?!
If this was what you could do with depression, he could only imagine how much you’d achieve if you had motivation.
“It’s a cross between lemon and mandarin.”
He eyed you as you plucked one ripe lemon before tossing it over to him. But you immediately regretted it once you realised he was currently in a state of reverie. However, to your surprise, he caught it impressively fast and began observing it all over again, holding back the urge to bite into it. Not that he wasn’t used to the raw taste of lemons.
“I see. So like a… subspecies?”
You couldn’t help but giggle at this sentence. How was that the conclusion he came to? You thought. But to be fair… it was on brand for him.
“I thought lemons were your favourite fruit. How do you not know this?”
The fact that they originated from China as well.
“I never studied lemons. I only purchase what I think will help.”
“Help?”
Before you could utter this simple question, Yu suddenly pulled you into a hug, tightly wrapping his arms around you.
“You’re amazing, Y/N. My grandma will love you even more when I tell her about this.”
You were unwittingly slammed cheek-first into his chest, and the sensation was as pleasant as crashing against a brick wall. Right, Yu probably forgot what kind of figure he had.
“Oh I… Thank you.”
A smile painted your features, and you returned the embrace despite the aching on your cheekbone.
Relief filled you. Sure, you had to show him the surprise early, and you weren’t really satisfied with just showing him the row of trees you planted two winters ago, but after today? You were glad you made it up to him. What mattered was that this cursed day would hopefully end on a good note. And the fact that his grandmother would like you if she learned of this hobby? It stood out.
Hey, maybe things were finally looking up, you thought.

What i feel about you based on your main agent (bad edition)
I will write the requests but i am in my writerblock era so hoping this will cure it. Love u all <33
Brimstone
Please stop smoking our entrance when we are the attackers please i beg you.
You never speak nor listen. We all know your mic and the whole team is either muted or you are basically deaf.
I have never seen a child play him so you are old. I mean old old. Like a dad or smth
Chamber
The chamber nerfs are a delusion you suck either way
Stop spending your whole 800 credit to a pistol that you will forgot for the rest of the game.
"I was in my prime before chamber nerfs guyss!!🤓🤓" Yea yea we get it.
Chyper
Can you stop saying "I kNoW eXAcLY wHErE U ArE" for five seconds?
You cannot aim so you place a setup that is unbreakable to attackers and letting your traps do all the work for you. How smart. (Thats me)
Cannot do shit when the last one left. You get one or two kills with your trap and u die middle of the round.
Deadlock
Stop placing sensors to our back, trying to hold the backsite but enemy can slow walk and bypass you u know? Then you be raging "I PuT a SeNSoR ThErE"
Istg if i get tangled down by your c one more time im gonna ragequit.
Your ult never gets anyone yet there is the whole five of the enemy team.
Fade
Your prowler shows no one, girl. Stop throwing it at the start of the round.
Stop trying to control your c you are losing so much time and its gonna get no one.
Ult when your team is near PLEASE. Its no effective if you are by yourself and scream "FACE YOUR FEAR" bcs you are the one that will be facing it.
Iso
No one mains iso.
Stop smurfing. Its no fun.
Go back to your own league. You coward.
Jett
You are a little child screaming into mic bcs you dashed forward to enemy and died.
Stop sitting onto the keyboard and actually aim maybe you'll get a kill.
Play with the team once. (I hate you with my whole heart)
Kay/o
You either never use your flashes or you blind just your teammates.
Your ult doesnt makes you undying you know? Stop running towards to the enemy like its new paradise.
The most avarage player. Middle fragging the whole game.
Killjoy
Just gives the info, maybe gets one or two kills because of the stupid dasher enemy jett and dies.
That turret be doing no damage if its on your team but be dealing 50+ if its on the enemy team.
Dont just sit there and wait FUCKING ROTATEEEE
Omen (my main)
Stop using c and teleport mid fight. Its no chamber tp or yoru tp. It takes time to teleport and takes time to handle the gun. You are going to die.
That blind hit no one. Stop being delusional and do not push. You are going to die.
If you do not know how to put a smoke when you close the 'astra' mode, do not. Place it slowly if requires. And again, if you dont do it fast enough, you are going to die.
Phoenix
STOP TROLLING YOUR TEAMMATES WITH YOUR MOLLY AND WALL ISTG I HATE YOU
That flash will hit you. It doesnt matter if the phoenix is on the enemy team or on your team. Or worse, both.
You are not that bad, you just need some humanity.
Sage
I hate you if you are an egirl that instalocks sage just to be a pocket sage to your eboy that plays reyna like reyna cannot heal herself. Stop. Also stop talking. Your voice irritates me.
Her voicelines are so unnecessary. Especially the ones at the start of the round.
We all know you are on top of your wall that closes mid. Dont peak. Also, stop throwing slows to OUR entrance.
Sova
Nobody is going to do anything about your arrow that you throw at the start of the round and showed three or four people. The team will still push. Stop trying to learn freaky arrows and waste your time.
Shock dart kill? What is that?
This agent is not friendly for beginners. Stop making your friends that just started the game play sova. They will show no information for you. Even being a pocket sage is better than a new-starter sova.
Viper
Its ok if you do not have linups. But if you do, then we all know that you havent touch the grass for a looong time and you probably smell like her ult. Please shower.
She be no mommy to you. She is kind of woman that rejects chamber, what made you think that she will even let you look at her way?
"Last player standing"
Yoru
Like kay/o. That flash is here only to blind you. Not the enemy.
Taking the spike and going to another site, saying you'll be back to us then will die and make it drop at the farest site possible. Either stop taking the spike or dont do this shit.
You either bottom frag or top frag. There is no in between. And you are probably 12-13 years old.
Astra
I have never seen someone mains, even plays astra.
So i have nothing to say. Im so sorry :(
Your smokes looks pretty tho. Keep it up!
Breach
You are a man that cannot stand woman. If a woman says anything bad about you, you will blind them, hit them with all of your abilities and do whatever it takes to make them unable to play the game. (Totaly not single-handed experience)
I hate your abilities. Very much.
I do not have any good experience about someone that plays this agent. Not a single one. I will dodge the game if someone picks breach no joke.
Gekko
Your molly is useless. I have seen once maybe twice that it kills somebody.
You have so much potential with wingman when you are the last one standing but wingman is the last thing that comes to your mind. Use it.
Why tf that trash is pickable and usable more than once??? Why?? (You are a nice person tho. Cannot move on without saying it.)
Harbor
Players that plays harbor are no joking. They are not here to learn the agent. They MAIN main him. But that doesnt makes a difference because this agent is close to useless.
Tbh he could have been my main if his abilities were a bit more versatile. Its just smoke and smoke. All about closing the sight of enemy. So fucking boring.
I bet if harbor was a girl, there will be so much people that would play him. Either way, he is boring.
Neon
Stop running and jumping around like an autistic.
You will never be able to nail those neon edits that you saw on tiktok. You look like an idiot while running towards enemy and dying first.
I hate her ult.
Raze
You are a child. A problematic one indeed.
Probably siblings with jett mains.
I bet even i could do better satcheling than you. (i have never played raze)
Reyna
I have no words.
Stop instalocking her. You are no useful.
Either top frag and smurf or bottom frag because your friends said that she is strong and you should play her. (0/11 powerspike. Yasuo of valorant.)
Skye
Just like kay/o and yoru. But that flash will hit the whole 10 that plays the game.
PLEASE HEAL I BEG YOU YOU HAVE HEAL PLEASE PRESS C PLEASEEEEEEE
Deserved nerfs tbh.

🪻In another life 🪻
Iso x fem! Reader
PART 9
PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4 - PART 5 - PART 6 - PART 7 - PART 8 - PART 9 - PART 10
Words: 3700
Warnings: mention of blood- mild violence and mental health. It's going to be angsty. This warning is simply going to be copy pasted to all chapter. +NSFW
🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻
Loud music was playing while some agents were busy chugging down some drinks- currently in the backyard of protocol headquarters. There was a barbecue set up outside for dinner today, a few picnic tables had gotten set up with some food on them, and of course there was a few other tables set up with drinks.
Because of course- there wouldn't be a random dinner barbecue without alcohol- quote from Phoenix mind you. The younger agents were getting a bit rowdy, most of them had already had a few drinks and they had way too much energy to spend, either dancing along to the music or just chatting vividly.
The older agents were a little more calm, sipping on a beer, either tending to the barbecue or trying to keep up with the younger ones. Overall the atmosphere was pretty nice, especially since there was also a few party games that got set up. Stuff like a horseshoe game, a darts game and a washer game.
And of course there was some troublemakers trying to set up an extra game- notably Jett, Neon and Phoenix, trying to get people to join in on a game of Truth or Dare. So this is how your evening was going-getting dragged along to that game because of course Clove wanted to play- and you were hanging out with Clove.
You don't know why they were starting to develop a tendency to just drag people into stuff- but at the same time you didn't mind it too much. You haven't played said game since high school, so you were wondering how it would take a twist now that it had alcohol involved. You were currently sipping on a cocktail, no idea what was in said cocktail but Breach mixed it up and it tasted good.
So here you were, sitting in a circle made with camping chairs alongside with Clove, Phoenix, Jett, Neon, Sage (it's surprised you that she let herself get dragged into this), Iso (this one surprised you a bit more but after seeing he was hanging out with Sage, it was self-explanatory) And Raze.
"Alright, alright! Just setting base rules, no skipping out- but you can ask for a second option. And nothing that can get us killed or severely injured - I highly doubt Sage wants to work on her day off." Phoenix said with a small laugh, speaking loud and clear to set the base rules. Everyone nodded and got prepared.
"I'll start things off-" phoenix said as he started looking around the circle, trying to see who would be the first victim. "Neon, truth or dare?" He picked onto the blue haired agent who was a little too hyper, as always. "DARE, duh." She said, already standing up and getting ready.
"Aight, I dare you to run a lap around Hq, but backwards. If you trip you take a shot." Phoenix said, cackling. Of course Neon immediately accepted, her confidence at an all-time high as she was absolutely certain she wouldn't trip. She was quickly gone, running in reverse, and we all patiently waited for her return. It wouldn't be hard to tell if she did trip-that was the funniest part. Because if she did, she would definitely have some grass stains on her pants.
And just a few minutes later- wouldn't you know it, her pants were completely stained, hell there's a twig in her hair. "Jeez, did you run in a tree?" Phoenix said as he was doubled down in laughter, seeing in what state she came back in. "I may have taken a tumble or two-" Neon said sheepishly, heading over to the nearby picnic table that had a bottle of vodka and some shot glasses. She immediately started taking shots-totaling up to four.
"Damn- you tripped four times??" Clove said, starting to cackle along as everyone watched Neon take shots. "Yeah-turns out it's a bit harder than expected to run in reverse-" Neon said, shaking her head a bit after taking a few shots, a grimace on her face by the fourth one.
"eugh... Well- truth or dare.... Clove!" Neon asked, turning towards Clove to make them the next victim. "Aye.... I'll go with truth." Clove said, chuckling. Neon took a moment to think of what could be a good one to ask, then perking up as soon as she had an idea.
"What's the best bit of gossip you know?" Neon asked, leaning in towards Clove as she looked hyper to discover some of the dramas I could have happened that she wasn't told about. You turn to look towards Clove, also interested to know what little bit they were going to give.
They seem to be taking a moment to decide themselves before finally choosing what to say. But what you didn't expect was for Clove to whisper it to Neon-you thought that they were going to say it out loud for all. You gave Clove a slightly confused and suspicious look, they simply grinned.
Neon on the other hand had a shocked expression on her face, her hand going up to her mouth to cover it. "Oh damn- interesting ~" she said mischievously, a grin forming. You had no idea what was told, but it definitely looked like Neon was going to use it to her advantage at some point.
A few more turns went by, everyone getting a go at either a dare or a truth- and the sun was starting to set. The game was still going strong, except this time there was a fire camp set in the middle of the circle to provide some extra lighting and warmth to keep it going.
There was some really interesting truths that had came out- notably how Phoenix discovered his powers-and the incident that followed from it- nothing bad, he just set his own shirt on fire. Or how Raze didn't even hesitate to answer when somebody asked her the truth question if her and Killjoy were actually dating- Raze had declared it loud and clear to the whole group they were, making everyone giggle.
As for dares, Sage was dared to freeze over someone's drink without them noticing- and she was a really good at doing it! She had managed to catch Brimstone off guard, freezing up his beer when he wasn't paying attention. Everyone had a good laugh at seeing the boss trying to take a sip out of a block of ice-
There was a few other funny ones, but those were definitely the highlights so far. So when the second round came on, everyone was a bit tipsy from the drinks and shots. It was Neon's turn again to ask someone truth or dare, and Neon was probably the one who was the most tipsy right now.
"Ummm... (Y/N)! Truth or dare~" Neon asked, a mischievous smile on her face. It was obvious she was up to something, but you are already a few drinks in and you just cackled along. "Dare!" You declared loudly, I'm taking yet another sip of your cocktail. You have no idea once again what you were drinking- Breach was just having a blast mixing stuff up and giving it out two agents.
"I Dare you to...." Neon started before she paused, raising a finger up to her chin as she thought. And suddenly she was pacing around, almost as if this was a life decision she was making. A few people started laughing, thinking I was really funny how hard she was thinking about this.
"shush-I need to focus!!" Neon yelled out to the agents that were laughing, only resulting in them laughing harder. She let out a frustrated groan, trying to sort out her thoughts despite her tipsy state.
"Okay! I got it-" she finally said as she walked back over to her initial spot, as close to the middle as possible. "(Y/n), I dare you to send a dirty text to your crush right now." Neon said, her mischievous grin getting wider at the second. You choked on air, not expecting that of all dares. "Fucking what now-" you said as you gasped for air, pretty much everyone bursting out laughing instantly.
"I would like a second option-" you said as your cheeks were starting to turn red, still trying to catch your breath after choking. Neon let out a desperate groan, she didn't want to come up with something else because she thought that first option was the best. So instead she decided to give you an even worse second option.
"Then I dare you to make out what your crush!" She said, a bit frustrated. You choked again, now your face was completely red. "Wh- that's barely a second option!" You yelled out while the group was back to laughing. "You get what you get." Neon said with a shrug, Crossing her arms over her chest as her mischievous air came back.
"How do you even know-" you started to say, you were going to ask how she knew you had a crush on someone- until you looked to your side where Clove was suspiciously quiet. It clicked in your mind-eyes widening before you swatted Clove's shoulder. "You ratted me out didn't you!" You said instantly, now realizing what Clove had said on their truth.
"Hey-for my defense-I didn't think she was going to use it against you!" Clove said, raising their hands defensively as they tried to plead their case. "I told you not to tell no one!" Clove looked a bit sheepish as you spoke. "...But that's literally the only thing Neon didn't know -" Clove responded.
You let out of frustrated sigh- rubbing your face with your hands. Your current choices were kiss Iso in front of everyone hoping that he's not going to flat out reject you- or send him a sext. Both cases just felt bad, your face is bright red at this point from embarrassment.
Except one of the two options at least would save you the public embarrassment. Or at least, it would if his phone beeper isn't on. You weighed your choices- and decided on the first option, which at least wouldn't be publicly embarrassing.
"Fine." You mumbled out, face redder than a beet. You took the cocktail that breach had made earlier, chugging it in one go. It was liquid courage but at least it would make you forget the crap you're about to do.
You pulled out your phone from your pocket, to which Neon did a slight victory dance. A few people were starting to look a bit curiously your way, now interested to see how things would go. You let out a shaky breath as you tapped on the contact, then took a moment to try to figure out what you would even send. It's not like you ever did this type of thing before so you didn't even know what would be considered 'good'.
You clumsily typed up a message and made sure to use your autocorrect so it wouldn't be filled with typos, an internally prayed that his notifications are turned off on his phone. Especially since he was sitting just across from you.
Clove peaked over your shoulder, moments before you press send, mumbling; "That's lame-", which made your head snap towards them. "Well fucking excuse me-it's not like I do this on a daily goddamn basis-" you semi yelled in embarrassment. Clove gave you a deadpan, then took your phone and rewrote your text. When you read it over you let out a scream. "FUCK NO-"
"it's better than what you wrote-" Clove said, grinning widely as they cross their arms in front of their chest. "I am most definitely not sending this-" you said, embarrassment taking over instantly as you erase the message. You rewrote a different message, this time hoping it was good enough without needing Clove to make it worse.
"Eh... It's better but it's tame-" Clove said, reaching over to add a few words. "Ah- much better!" Clove said with a huge grin after fixing your text a second time. You couldn't read it without feeling absolutely embarrassed as hell. You were about to start complaining about it again before Neon loudly declared "just send the goddamn text; we're waiting here!"
So you press send before you erase the message another time, once more praying in your head that his ringer is off. When you didn't hear anything audible come from anyone's phones you let it out of sigh of relief, glad to know that he turned off his notifications. "There, happy?" You mumbled out in pure embarrassment, getting up to go get the bottle of vodka and put some in your cup. You wanted to drink to forget-
And so the game continued as if nothing that happened, everyone ending up pretty drunk by the end of it. On the point where everyone was, it was time to just start heading back to the dorms before people started sleeping outside- which already seem to be the case with a few agents.
🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻🪻
By the time you got back to your dorm, you ran yourself a cold shower and took care of drinking a lot of water, trying to pass some of the drunkenness. You also knew if you drank enough water now, you wouldn't feel too bad the next morning. The cold shower definitely helped bring yourself back to your senses a bit, but you were still pretty sluggish.
You threw yourself in bed, not even bothering to put pajamas on. You were laying on top of your sheets, completely bare in the darkness of your room. You finally picked back up your phone for the first time since that day earlier, plugging it in before turning it on. You had forgotten completely about the text until you turned your phone back on and saw it- immediate embarrassment coming right back .
You: "Can I have my way with you tonight? 😘"
You yourself butterflies in your stomach as you saw the message- sure it wasn't that bad, but it sure as hell was embarrassing. You considered just unsending it, it's not like Neon would know right? You quickly got to work, it's starting to prepare the unsend-
'Read'
You both felt your heart drop and pick up its Pace at once. You didn't know if you wanted to just hide and die of embarrassment right then and there- or rip off Neon's head. Maybe a bit of both. You have put down your phone for a moment, covering your face with a pillow from embarrassment.
It was too late to unsend the message, he had already seen it. You already knew it was going to be awkward as hell the next day - hell maybe he'll even go back to not talking to you- just when you finally had him opening up a bit-
There was a knock at the door. You sat up instantly- then realizing you were naked, if you immediately covered yourself with your blanket. You were too distracted and also tipsy to react right- your face was beat red from embarrassment, thoughts were rushing . "W-who?" You asked with a stutter, not even able to string together a sentence.
The door opened, and with the darkness you couldn't see who it was. You only know if someone came in your room. "Who is it?" You asked a bit more firmly, holding your blanket closer to you, making sure it covered you fully. Someone walked up to your bed, stopping at your bedside.
"Seriously who is it- this isn't funny-" you asked again nervously, holding the blanket a bit tighter against yourself. "Were you serious with your text?"
You instantly froze, not even sure what to answer. Your face heated up instantly, feeling a flutter in your stomach all while feeling nervous. You felt the bed dip a bit on one side, and then there was a hand caging you in, inches away from your head. He was practically on top of you at this point, and you could still smell the alcohol on his breath.
"(Y/n), were you serious or not?" He asked you again, he voice much lower this time, and he had leaned in closer. Your head was a bit of a mess at the moment- and if it weren't for the alcohol you probably would have panicked a bit. "Y-yeah- ... Um-" your answer came out of it messy and stuttered, not even sure if it was the right answer.
He chuckled, then leaned in fully-you are completely trapped under him. He had shifted, holding himself up with that arm he had beside your head, a knee each side of your body. His free hand cup your cheek before he leaned down, starting a messy kiss between the two of you.
Your mind just went blank- and even if you were trying to sober up earlier, it was almost as of the alcohol hit you for a second time- your hands finding their way to his back and in his hair- pulling him closer. The hand on his cheek trailed down- touching your shoulder lightly before pausing. "Are you naked?" He asked you, his voice low and his lips brushing against yours as he spoke.
"I.. just got out the shower and.... I don't think I got dressed-" you mumbled out, your mind was a complete mess at this point. He chuckled at once more, his freehand deciding to pull off the blanket from you. In the dark he couldn't see you, but he didn't mind too much- because he was going to enjoy touching you.
He leaned back down to continue the messy kiss, his tongue sliding in your mouth once more, small moans escaping you both. His hands went everywhere, cupping your breasts, caressing your stomach, your thighs and hind. You felt hot, and the more he went on, the more impatient you got.
You had started tugging at his hoodie, making him pause his touches. He moved back for a moment so he could take it off, tossing it aside somewhere in the room. You could then hear him fumble with his belt buckle-the weight on the bed shifting a few times.
You felt his now bare skin brush against yours, where he settled between your legs. His hands went back to your thighs, making their way up. One of his hand made contact with your core, fingers rubbing your already wettened sweet spot in a gentle circular motion, leaning back in to kiss you while he touched you.
You let out soft muffled moans, clinging a bit more desperately to Iso while he touched you, increasing the speed of his movements little by little. He broke the kiss, listening to the moan you let out now that he wasn't kissing you, enjoying every noise you made under him.
"You enjoying this?" He purred out into your ear, deciding to slide his fingers inside you as he asked, wanting to hear more of the lewd noises you were making. You gasped, barely responding to what he asked as he continues to pleasure you, curling his fingers upwards inside you.
He leaned back, continuing his movements inside you, fingers still pressing repeatedly onto your sweet spot. He used his free hand to gently press down your lower abdomen, his thumb caressing your clit as he did that. The additional stimulation made you whimper, back arching up a bit. You let out a shaky moan, feeling on edge.
It didn't take long for your orgasm to wash over, hands grasping onto the bedsheets roughly, gasping for air as your legs shook slightly, shutting on his arms. He slowed down his ministrations, completely stopping once you seemed to calm down a bit from your high. He gently pushed your legs apart, his hands resting in the crooks of your knees for a short moment, as if considering how he wanted to take you.
After a short moment, he settled on pushing back your legs, making himself comfortable between them once more. He positioned himself, leaning back down to kiss your neck a few times before. The shift in position forced your legs back more, letting out soft whimpers as his lips traced your neck.
He bit you in the crook of your neck, thrusting himself inside at the same time. You let out a surprised gasp, your arms going around his shoulders, hands on his back. "You feel good.." He mumbled out in the crook of your neck, biting once more as he started to thrust hard into you.
You were becoming a bit of a mess under him, hands grasping onto him as he fucked you roughly , his teeth repeatedly sinking into your neck and shoulders. Moans and whimpers seemed to be the only noises you were able to make as you were gradually scratching up his back.
One of his hands let go of your leg to go to your neck, grasping it and tightening around it. He pulled back his head from your shoulder, re-angling himself to continue with the rough pace. You could feel the lack of air taking over, adding to your tipsy state, feeling almost euphoric.
He continued to tighten the grip on your neck, listening as you made less and less noise- only releasing your when you made small gasps. He could feel you tighten around him from it, a low moan escaping him . "You loved that, hm~?" He said lowly, his hand finding your neck once more.
Leaving you no time to answer, he did it again, tightening his grip around your neck once more, this time using his second hand to caress your clit while he continued to fuck you, not slowing his pace yet. And just like earlier, he only released your neck when you were gasping for air.
The second time around sent a wave of pleasure through you, the lack of air made it feel like everything was coming in waves, hitting harder at a time. Your legs shook slightly once more, once more feeling the edge of your orgasm approach.
You came a second time, moans a bit hoarse as your nails dug into his back once more leaving long scratches. He didn't last long after you finished for a second time, letting out low moans as his pace slowed, coming to a stop after a few short moments.
He crashed, falling on the double bed beside you, panting . You were in a daze, overstimulated from both orgasms and the remains or your tipsiness. Iso grabbed the blanket, covering you both , then becoming the big spoon immediately - an arm wrapped around you, pulling you into him as he fell asleep. You succumbed to fatigue pretty fast too, passing out within moments.

Porque, al final dejaba un aparte de mi ahí, una gran parte de mi amor te lo llevaste, estaba tan listo para amarte, cuidarte, para darte seguridad, para tratarte muy lindo. Fever
Yoru rarely let anyone see him in a vulnerable state, but today was an exception. He lay in bed, pale and visibly unwell, a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead. Julie sat by the edge of the bed, her concern evident as she gently placed her hand on his forehead.
"You’re burning up," she murmured.
Yoru groaned faintly, his brows furrowed. Julie slipped into nurse mode, grabbing a bowl of cool water and some towels. She dabbed his forehead with one of them, working with quiet efficiency.
“You’ll feel better soon,” she said softly, wetting another towel.
Julie knew she needed to cool him down further, so she prepared to place towels under his arms. Lifting one of his arms carefully, she was startled when, out of nowhere, Yoru hooked it around her waist and pulled her down onto the bed.
“Yoru!” she exclaimed, her hands pressing against his chest to steady herself. “What are you doing? Let go!”
He mumbled something incoherent, his voice raspy and barely audible, but his grip only tightened. Julie tried to wiggle free, but he muttered hoarsely, “Just stay here…”
Her face burned. She was torn between frustration and flustered confusion. “I need to get your paracetamol!” she tried again, squirming, but his arm remained locked around her waist like a vice.
“Don’t care,” he murmured sleepily, his fever clearly making him less guarded. “Stay.”
Julie sighed, resigned. “You’re impossible,” she muttered, cheeks still warm. She stayed still for a moment, figuring it was better not to disturb him until he loosened his grip.
That’s when the door creaked open, and in walked Iso.
He paused mid-step, his usually calm expression shifting to one of slight surprise. His gaze darted between Yoru, who was clinging to Julie like a lifeline, and Julie, who was lying awkwardly beside him, clearly uncomfortable.
Julie’s eyes met Iso’s, and she immediately whispered, “...help.”
Iso’s lips quirked up in a faint smile, but there was an unreadable flicker in his eyes. “He’s not letting go, huh?”
Julie sighed again, shaking her head. “No. He’s like a feverish octopus. Can you… pry him off me?”
Iso stepped closer, crouching beside the bed. His hand moved to Yoru’s arm, gently but firmly trying to loosen his grip. Yoru groaned, his hold tightening for a moment before Iso’s persistence paid off.
As soon as she was free, Julie scrambled up, brushing herself off and muttering a quick, “Thanks.”
Iso stood, glancing at Yoru, who shifted slightly, muttering something unintelligible in his sleep. Iso turned back to Julie, a small smirk playing on his lips.
“Getting cozy, were you?” he teased lightly, though his tone was more playful than accusatory.
Julie’s face flushed deeper. “Hardly. He’s sick, Iso. Don’t make it weird.”
Iso chuckled, leaning casually against the wall. “Sure, sure. Just didn’t expect to find you... pinned.”
Julie huffed, crossing her arms but avoiding his gaze. “I was trying to help him cool down. He wouldn’t let go.”
Iso’s smirk softened into something more genuine. “I know. Just teasing.” His gaze flicked briefly to Yoru before returning to Julie. “Still, you’ve got a soft spot for us troublesome types, huh?”
She rolled her eyes, though her lips twitched as if she was suppressing a smile. “You’re all impossible, that’s what you are.”
Iso straightened, his expression thoughtful as he watched her busy herself with pouring water and preparing the medicine. “For what it’s worth, you’re good at this,” he said, his tone sincere.
Julie glanced at him, caught off guard by the compliment. “Thanks,” she said softly, her cheeks still warm, though now for a different reason.
As she focused on getting Yoru to take his medicine, Iso stayed close, watching the interaction with quiet amusement. He wasn’t angry—Julie’s flustered innocence was clear—but he couldn’t help the faint pang of jealousy that lingered.
Next time, he thought to himself, I’ll make sure she’s not the one stuck playing nurse.
****************************
A couple of days later, the tables turned.
Julie walked into the living room, towel in hand, only to find Iso sprawled dramatically across the couch, his arm flung over his forehead. His usual composed demeanor was nowhere to be found. Instead, he looked like a sulking, oversized child.
“Iso, what are you doing?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I’m dying,” he declared, voice hoarse but with a whiny undertone.
She blinked, suppressing a smile. “You’re not dying. What’s wrong?”
“I think I caught Yoru’s plague,” he mumbled, sniffling for dramatic effect. He glanced at her with wide, pleading eyes, his voice turning soft. “Help me, Julie.”
Julie sighed, shaking her head but unable to hide the small smile tugging at her lips. “Alright, let me check your temperature.”
As she leaned over to press the back of her hand to his forehead, Iso suddenly pouted. “Don’t I get the special treatment Yoru got? I heard he got towels and everything.”
Julie rolled her eyes. “You don’t even have a fever.”
“I feel feverish,” he insisted, grabbing her wrist lightly and pulling her closer. “Can’t you just pretend I’m dying?”
“You’re impossible,” she muttered, brushing a damp towel over his face anyway. He groaned like a child being forced to take medicine, but there was a glint of mischief in his eyes.
When she tried to pull away, he grabbed her wrist again. “Wait, what about the forehead thing? You’re supposed to stay and—”
“Don’t push it!” Julie scolded, though her tone was light. She freed her hand and turned to prepare some water and medicine.
Iso sat up slightly, watching her with a small smile. “You’re cute when you’re bossy,” he teased.
Julie shot him a look over her shoulder. “If you have the energy to tease, you’re not that sick.”
“That’s not true,” he argued, slumping back into the couch dramatically. “I’m just trying to stay positive in the face of death.”
“You’re the most dramatic ‘dying’ person I’ve ever seen,” she replied, bringing him a glass of water and some medicine.
He took the glass but didn’t drink, instead eyeing her with exaggerated suspicion. “You’re not going to sit beside me and hold my hand?”
“Nope,” she said flatly, turning to leave.
“Julie,” he called out, his voice soft and pitiful.
She paused, looking back at him.
“Thanks for taking care of me,” he said, his usual playful tone gone, replaced by sincerity. “I mean it.”
Julie’s expression softened, and she gave him a small smile. “You’re welcome. But next time, try not to catch Yoru’s ‘plague,’ alright?”
He chuckled, leaning back into the couch. “No promises.”
For the rest of the day, Iso made sure to milk his “illness” for all it was worth, and Julie, despite her exasperation, found herself indulging his antics more than she probably should have.
As Iso lay sprawled on the couch, looking like a tragic hero from an overly dramatic movie, Julie decided she’d had enough of his sulking.
“Alright, Iso,” she said, hands on her hips. “If you’re going to be this pitiful, we might as well have some fun with it.”
He raised an eyebrow, a flicker of interest replacing his usual pout. “What kind of fun?”
“Stupid fun,” she replied, already grabbing her phone.
Julie propped her phone against a pillow on the coffee table and opened a face filter app. She crouched beside Iso, aiming the camera at both of them. The app instantly plastered a pair of goofy glasses and a curly mustache on her face and gave Iso bunny ears.
“Look, you’re a very ill bunny,” she said, feigning seriousness as she showed him the screen.
Iso couldn’t help but snort. “That’s ridiculous.”
“Exactly,” she grinned, swiping to the next filter. This one turned their faces into giant pieces of bread.
“Bread-head Iso,” she teased, pointing at the screen. “It suits you.”
He chuckled, his earlier sulky expression fading completely. “You’re just jealous I look better as bread.”
“Please,” Julie said, rolling her eyes. “You’d be stale bread at best.”
They went through a dozen more filters, each one more ridiculous than the last. Iso even leaned into it, pulling exaggerated faces and pretending to be horrified when Julie turned him into a glittering unicorn.
When they got bored of the filters, Julie rummaged through the drawers and found an old pack of Uno cards.
“Let’s play,” she said, shuffling the cards. “But we’ll make it interesting. Loser has to eat one of these.”
She placed a small bowl of random snacks on the table—some harmless, like peanuts and chocolate, and others… less appealing, like overly sour candies and leftover ginger from her fridge.
“You’re evil,” Iso said, eyeing the ginger warily.
“You’re scared,” she teased, dealing the cards.
They played a few rounds, and Iso quickly realized that Julie, despite her sweet demeanor, had a cutthroat strategy when it came to Uno.
“You’re holding onto Wild cards, aren’t you?” he accused, glaring at her over his dwindling hand.
She just smiled innocently. “Would I do that?”
“Yes,” he grumbled, watching as she slammed down a Draw Four card.
“Looks like you’re eating ginger,” she said, grinning triumphantly.
He groaned dramatically, but he still chewed the ginger with exaggerated disgust, making Julie laugh so hard she had to clutch her stomach.
By the end of the afternoon, Iso’s mood had improved considerably, and Julie felt a sense of accomplishment.
“You’re not such a bad nurse,” Iso admitted as they packed up the cards.
“I’m not a nurse right now,” she said with a playful smile. “I’m an Uno champion.”
He chuckled, leaning back against the couch. “Fine. But next time, I’m bringing my A-game.”
Julie grinned. “Looking forward to it.”

꧁Esperanza genuina꧂
7 ene 2022

[ STRIKE ] - Iso
@galaxythixf | ISO: [STRIKE] sender aims a blow (via either their fists or their weapon) at the receiver.
Iso was a good shot—excellent, even—but there was more to combat than being able to take aim and fire.
In a fluid motion, Omen steps back, narrowly dodging the knife that slices cleanly through the air where he once stood. Anticipation courses through him, tightening his grip on the knife clutched tightly in his grasp.
Close... but not close enough.
For a moment, it appears that Iso retreats, slinking away as if to consider his next move... but in the blink of an eye, the younger agent darts forward, knife bared. Omen's gut twists—Iso's feint had caught him off guard. Panic, however, gives way as instinct takes hold.
Unraveled at the seams, Omen disappears right in front of his eyes—at the same time, a clawed hand lunges forward and closes in around him, grappling Iso from behind and holding him firmly in place.
The cool, dull edge of a blade grazes his throat, laid bare along the swell of his Adam's apple. A sharp whisper cuts against the shell of his ear.
"Dead."
Carefully, Omen releases the vice grip on the younger agent's clothing, the weight of his body disappearing as he slinks backward. Slotting his knife back into its sheath, he raises his gaze back up to Iso.
"You must be able to defend yourself against their Omen's ambush. He will not afford you the same kindness." Though harsh, there's no bitterness in the deep, gravelly rumble of his voice—only patience. Encouragement.
"Try again."
