Date Everything Housemates x Reader
Jealous HCs
[Hi there! This is the first thing for Date Everything that I have written. That's to say, I'm still getting a hang of these characters, so some things might be a bit off. Tone is in line with the game- nothing overtly sexual, but innuendos here and there. Nothing that should have to be tagged, just having some fun getting to know the characters :)]
Jerry- The thing that gets him jealous is seeing you talk to Cam. It’s not that there’s really a rivalry between the two of them, at least not from Cam’s view. It’s just that Jerry has seen one too many things that could have been or already in his collection head Cam’s way. He’s been able to work on the frustration and anxiety that happened when something moved along (even if it still wasn’t one his favorite ordeals), and was actually starting to be a bit more accepting of the whole thing. After all, even though there was a pretty large personality difference, the both of them still had the common hobby of collecting forgotten, discarded things; who was he to deny another person that?
Well, that was until he saw the two of you talking. While he couldn’t quite place why, seeing you both being so casual with each other sent that same anxious chill down his spine. This soured his mood, and many of the others that lived by him picked up on it. They were all torn between checking on him and letting him vent things out in his own way, and decided on the latter seeing as they didn’t know what was bothering him.
He wouldn’t totally ignore you if you talked to him soon after, however, he would only give short, mostly one word answers. It’s not that he’s really mad at you or anything, he just knows he’s in a bad mood and doesn’t want to say much so he doesn’t accidentally snap at you and make you feel like he is. After you’re able to get him to talk with you about it, he’ll apologize (even if he didn’t really do anything too bad), and feel a bit better that he wasn’t going to lose you. He also wouldn’t mind if you were getting close with some of the others around the house, but feels a lot more assured if the two of you do check-in’s with each other to make sure you were both still doing alright.
Betty- She gets more of a worried jealous than a frustrated one. It wasn’t something that she even considered herself capable of as she’s a very laid back person. What happened to set it off for her was something pretty simple too.
You had been watching a movie and fell asleep on the couch. Beth had sat there for a good bit of the night wondering where you were. That made he start to worry that you were upset with her, or that she wasn’t good enough for you. It’s more of a situation of her being jealous of an imagined, better self than any other person or time and attention you were receiving from the others. The whole thing is mostly fueled from worry.
When the morning rolls around and she found out what happened, she would feel rather silly about it. Still, she can’t help herself from overthinking the whole situation the rest of the day. All it would really take to calm her is for you to sleep next to her again. She knows you would never do anything to hurt her, and sometimes she just has to remind herself that she is good enough for anyone, including herself.
Errol- He saw you. He saw you at the other counter. Heating something to eat… not with him, but with that loud-mouth Luke! Why would you do such a thing? Why- after all you both had learned from each other? Did you like you meals half heated? Did you want the textural experience of eating a hot sponge?
Why do such a thing to yourself- to him?! Oh, what he would give to save you from this unfortunate choice! To have you here, with him, receiving hot, perfect food from him! To have you feel a rush of heated air as you firmly shook his basket! Perhaps, leave him feeling at least a bit filthy with the… grease… oh, the vile grease!
He thinks he’s being sly about the whole thing, and while Luke and yourself are too busy doing your own thing to really notice, that is not the case for the rest of the kitchen. Everyone does their best to ignore the palpable bitterness in the air, but, boy is that difficult with how intense it is. The air wasn’t just thick, it was gelatin.
Scandalabra- Oh, he would be soooo bitchy about it. Is one of those people that’s like, “You know what you did.” When there is little to no way for you know what you did.
After a bit of digging, or rather, mining through your thoughts, you arrived on a set of fake, battery powered candles that you had bought the other day. It wasn’t something you were even too focused on when you bought them. All you knew is that they were on sale for super cheap, and that you were going to use them to decorate somewhere. Seeing as they were electric powered lights, Lux was the one using them (not that it was their favorite outlet.)
While Scandalabra is usually self-assured enough that he couldn’t care what anyone else thinks about him (at least as far as personality goes), this was something that he saw as an open threat. Not, from you, oddly enough. Poor Lux is just confused at the death stares they had been getting in droves.
He sees this as the influencer trying to turn you against him. And, with a mockery of something so closely related to his person! A candle made of plastic! Oh, perish the thought!
This one can be a bit tricky to handle. There will be a decent amount of time where he will be as cold as the silver of his candlestick, however, once he finally gets convinced that he had nothing to be jealous of he would be as pliable as warm wax in your hands. It’s an action that’s a strange mix of needing reassurance and his way of non-verbally apologizing. He’s been worried about how much you care about him; play with his hair and call him pretty!
It seems that even though you two are working things out, he’s still got some major jealousy to deal with.
Sophia- Firmly believe she is one of the most emotionally mature people in the house. So, when she does see you with someone who's trying to get a bit too involved, she can at least admit that she is jealous. That's the first step to fixing things after all.
Will talk to you about it. Just talk, nothing else. Her lifestyle is all about role playing and control with consent. She would never take actual negative feelings into what you guys do. She'll make sure you're both good before doing anything.
That being said, if you are both good, then she has no problem using how she felt as inspiration for your next night together.
Luke- Lunch time! And, he knows you got pizza bagels just for the occasion! Oh, you're... getting a baking pan out? That might not fit, and he also doesn't think you're supposed to metal with him. But, what the hell! He'll try anything at least once!
You... You're going to Stefan? Wha- what do you mean!? Yeah, sure, the box might have oven instructions, but- but who ever hear of cooking pizza bagels in a not-microwave oven!
He's got very big emotions, and that goes both ways of the spectrum. When he's grouchy, that's all he feels. But, once you talk to him again he's immediately an emotional mess!
He thought you were never going to use his microwave again! Please! You and pre-cooked, frozen food are all he has!
Gets flustered when you sort things out with him. Jealous? What do you mean? He was just worried you were jealous. Yup, and that's why he acted like he was, so you could feel like you weren't alone. Totally, what happened.
Keith- Seems like you lost the key to that padlock. Perhaps he could be-
Bobby Pinn. You just opened it with the help of... Bobby Pinn.
He would try to hide it by feigning concern. Not that it's his business, but knowing how to pick a lock in such a way can mean you've been making some rather questionable choices.
Being a skeleton key, that's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Honestly, he's an odd case where he's just frustrated, but when he does let himself feel anger (in a healthy way) it helps him work it out of his system, and things are back to normal.
If you want to fast track the emotional spectrum and have him feel better more quickly, ask him if there's anything he would like to open up about.
Did you just use his own line against him?! Wait, you did you just use his own line against him? You did? That was actually pretty clever- dare he say interesting. Not many people ask a key of all things to open up. Alright then, perhaps the two of you should talk.
Kristof- Hey, there. He couldn't help but notice you have been walking aimlessly around the house. If you were wanting to take a walk and not go anywhere, there happens to be a perfectly good treadmill right here.
You know, instead of wandering around and trying to find something to do, you could be walking with him. It's not that he doubts himself or thinks you would betray his trust in anyway, but you did seem to be very popular with many people here.
True, he could rip most of them apart with his bare hands, and even the ones he couldn't he would try his damnedest, but he knows that wouldn't really fix things; even if that was difficult for him to accept.
Gets jealous easily, but also gets over it easily. If you spend even a tiny amount of time with him he's almost forgotten that he was jealous in the first place. Though, you can always tell he has been recently because those bear hugs of his are even tighter than usual- something you didn't think was possible until you experienced it.
Lux- They are basically having an existential crisis about it. They don't get jealous of other people! People get jealous of them!
Yet, here they are, looking at you hanging out with the Hanks, and it's making their blood boil. They are absolutely not above using their platform to do hit pieces on whoever they're jealous of. They know how to do it in a way that it hits their target, but they still have enough plausible deniability if questioned about it.
In this case they would sneak something into a middle of a stream like, "Ugh, someone's playing... Idk.. something nearby. I don't know what it is other than loud. Because, like, sports are cringe. Massive L. Anyways-"
Not that you want to start anything in public, but if you comment something like, "Lux..." They just go, "Hi, sweetie! Love you!" They know this is going to get them in trouble, but at the moment they're feeling a bit too spicy to care.
Once you talk about it in private they will flutter their lashes over those big, doe eyes and apologize. Don't let them get away with it. Be persistent until you both come to an understanding and you get an actual apology. That way you can both figure out ways to keep each other comfortable when you're talking with other people. Not in a controlling way, just in a boundaries setting way.
Dorian- He gets jealous of... himself. You had been talking with his Trap Dorian self the most lately. He knew- he knew- you weren't vain enough to only want to interact with people who would flirt with you. But, the worry would still be chewing at him.
When he decides the healthiest thing to do was talk to you about it, you were mortified. You explained that there was a flooding scare in the crawlspace, and you simply talked to Trap Dorian because he was one of the closest doors by where you were checking.
Well, now he's mortified too. He hates making people feel bad for not reason, and he totally misunderstood what was happening. That leads to the both of you fidgeting and stumbling over each other's sentences as you both try to cover the situation.
The rest of the house is watching with popcorn.

pairing:: hongjoong x reader genre:: fluff au:: 9th member | idol | poly synposis:: ynjoong moments that fans now notice since your dating announcement. word count:: 0.8k warning(s):: fluff, teasing hongjoong.

salary lupin ep. 3
You sat at the end of the table, right beside Hongjoong, as everyone eagerly guessed what their mother had made. After the letters were passed out, you quietly scooted closer to him—empty-handed, your parents still refusing to speak to you. Leaning your head against his shoulder, you felt his arm wrap gently around your waist.
Tears stung your eyes as you watched everyone read their letters, each one filled with warm wishes from their mothers. You sat in silence, trying not to let the ache show—until Hongjoong opened his own letter and a second envelope slipped out, fluttering onto the table. Everyone went still.
“Oh? This one’s addressed to you, Yn,” Hongjoong said, surprise lacing his voice as he handed it to you.
"To me?" you asked, disbelief written all over your face.
The cameras shifted, focusing on you and Hongjoong. He gave a small nod, silently urging you to read it first. Your eyes scanned the letter, the words blurring as emotions surged. Without a word, you handed it to Hongjoong, shaking your head as you buried your face in his shoulder, overwhelmed.
Keith eats everything at Korean BBQ
You sat beside Hongjoong, a wide smile on your face—being a huge Try Guys fan made the moment feel surreal. You couldn’t help but laugh when Keith suddenly started barking, fully committing to the bit.
Amused, Hongjoong began placing slices of grilled meat onto your plate, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he glanced at you. You opened your mouth wide, letting him place a piece directly in—and just as you chewed, Keith’s voice cut through the moment.
“So I have to ask,” he said, eyebrows raised in curiosity, “are you two dating? Or is it just because, you know, she’s the only girl in the group?”
You kept chewing as your members burst into laughter. Hongjoong cleared his throat, a playful smile on his lips as he shook his head.
“She’s our baby. Our princess. So yeah, she’s pretty spoiled.”
“Not that spoiled!” you huffed, crossing your arms. “I still do things on my own!”
More laughter followed.
“I think you’re forgetting that Hongjoong literally tied your shoes before we got here,” Yunho pointed out, grinning.
“And made sure you sat beside him,” Wooyoung added with a smug smirk.
wanteez ep. 14
It wasn’t the first time Hongjoong had painted your nails, so it felt like second nature when you handed him your hand, settling in comfortably beside him.
“It’s like it’s only those two in the room and we’re not even here,” Jongho muttered, shuffling through the tarot cards Yeosang had just set down.
You glanced at him, sticking your tongue out playfully as Hongjoong chuckled beside you.
“Aww, do you want me to paint your nails too?” he teased, lifting an eyebrow in Jongho’s direction.
Jongho shook his head quickly, holding his hands up in mock defense. Meanwhile, Hongjoong gently brought your hand closer to his mouth, blowing softly to help the polish dry.
“It’s like you’ve got more spit than manicure,” Yeosang deadpanned, making Yunho burst out laughing.
“You’re just jealous that Hongjoong oppa is doing my nails,” you teased, flashing a smug smile.
“Mmm, yes, so jealous,” Yunho said, dramatically placing a hand on his chest as he stifled more laughter.
yn vlog
The camera focused on your face as you adjusted your hair, the faint sound of shuffling in the background. Then, the view shifted—revealing Hongjoong mid-snap, his phone aimed at you.
Your soft giggle filled the audio as he quickly looked away, a blush creeping onto his cheeks.
“Uh oh, looks like Hongjoong was caught~” you teased, zooming in on his flustered expression.
“It’s oppa to you, missy,” he grumbled, still avoiding the camera.
The lens turned back to you just as you rolled your eyes with a playful grin.
The video cut to a wide-angle shot of you and Hongjoong browsing through a boutique. He casually held up a shirt, then a jacket, sizing each one against you before either putting it back or draping it over his arm to hold onto.
You stood right beside him, a drink in hand, quietly sipping as he suddenly pulled you a little closer by the waist. A soft giggle escaped you, followed by a gentle pat to his cheek.
The next shot cut to the top of Hongjoong’s head, your shoe resting on his knee as he carefully tied the laces. When he looked up, he grinned wide and blew a kiss to the camera, earning a burst of laughter from you behind the lens.
“Joongie oppa is such a gentleman, isn’t he?” you said dreamily, zooming in slightly on his flushed face.
Blushing, Hongjoong reached out and covered the camera with his hand—but not before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to your lips. The screen briefly went dark, but the mic still caught the quiet sound of the kiss, followed by your muffled giggle.

Fifty Seven
It was gradual, how things developed between you and Wally. Slow and peripheral at first. Then, like a confetti cannon—pop💥—instant, exciting; a pocket of fresh air in a dense smog. And it was all thanks to Wally's best friend, Rodney.
See, Wally was a baseball guy. Had planned to continue being a baseball guy through high school. He was an excellent pitcher with an impressive BA, and his mama had been over-the-top supportive for Wally to join the team—believed in him so much that she'd even strongarmed Coach Burns to let Wally try out for varsity.
But Rodney? Had wanted to join the football team. And Wally had wanted to do everything with his inseparable since birth best buddy, so he'd found himself donning a helmet and nailing technical drills like it was paint-by-numbers. Obviously, he'd made the team. Had started winning games, gained popularity and praise and attention from girls. Had fast become Coach's MVP only to, in sophomore year, be transferred to the varsity team. Go Devils!
That'd meant training longer, playing harder, and receiving interested elevator-looks from the hottest chicks in school. Seniors who'd graduated out of the awkwardness of puberty and had learned how to flaunt their curves. Don't worry, Rodney had been along for the ride, built like a brick shithouse and equally as formidable on the field, and he'd kept Wally humble.
Not that he'd needed to, because the thing about attention was the more Wally got, the less he was seen.
Yeah, he was the star receiver, the guy whose name everyone knew. But...that was about all they knew about him. People summed him up to the number on his jersey. Shallow. Detached. The girls he took on dates wanted the infamy of having made out with him—"he's such a fantabulous kisser,"—and the guys admired the hell out of him, clapped his back and handed him beers, but no one expressed an interest in peeling back flesh and bone to see what made Wally tick.
Wally wasn't lonely; he had Rodney and Don and Keith. BFFs since kindergarten who gave a real shit about him. It was just that, if people approached him to ask questions, he wanted it to feel less like an interview and more like a connection. Small talk was exhausting.
He'd been contemplating this when you'd first popped onto his radar. Shooting hoops in the gym at lunch to brood over his latest failed effort with a girl—Sarah Miller from History—when, oh shit, look out!, you'd walked through the door the second Wally had decided to unleash his frustration by whipping the ball at the wall. He'd overcompensated. The ball had curved to the left. Smack, you'd taken it square in the head.
Somehow, you hadn't been hurt, though the sound had convinced Wally you should've had a bruise blossoming on the area of impact. He'd run over, eyes wide in panic, visually checking you over to ensure he hadn't concussed you.
He'd rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah," You'd grinned, friendly, not even a little bit upset, "Happens more than you think." Which would've raised flags if Wally hadn't been preoccupied by how your proximity smelled like summer.
After a moment of uncertainty, Wally had stuck out his hand and introduced himself, "I'm Wally Clark. I, uh... I'm better at football." He'd felt like an idiot five seconds later when you'd merrily declared:
"I know," still smiling like he hadn't just thoroughly embarrassed himself. "You always feint left." Then, in general consideration, "I'm surprised no one's figured that out yet."
Wally had stared at you in surprise, "I mean... I do what feels right in the moment."
You'd raised your hands, "I'm just saying, your recovery's weak on your left backfoot, so you might wanna switch it up soon."
Wally had crashed through a gamut of emotions in under a second, beginning with insecurity and ending in shockawe. Because you'd noticed something. And, okay, yes, it'd been jersey-number related, but it hadn't been how well he filled out his uniform.
"You come to the games?" He'd wondered as he'd valiantly ignored how his stomach had started to feel squirmy.
You'd nodded, "You're fun to watch." And you'd said it so...casually. Like it'd been part of the Split River High zeitgeist: The stadium became a sardine can because Number 57, Wally Clark, was fun to watch.
"So, I guess you're gonna be there tomorrow?" He'd asked, the seed of an unfamiliar sense of intrigue planted. He'd watched you tilt your head, watched your eyes light up when you'd smiled. Wally had felt his cheeks heat and his eyes go soppy in response.
"That's the plan, Stan," You'd gleefully confirmed.
That'd been where it'd all started.
You and he hadn't become friends or anything like that, but Wally had felt a connection. Like you and he had clicked. From then on, he'd sought you out in the crowd at every game. Where's Waldo between plays. You'd never been in the same place twice, and as soon as he'd find you, you'd hold up a poster-board boasting a glittery '57' in school blue, and cheer him on with gusto.
It'd swiftly become Wally's favorite part of playing football.
Tonight, Wally was mid-search, batting away Rodney's reminder that the team planned to hit Max's Diner after the game, win or lose, when Number 36, Matt Wilson, advised, "Dude, don't interrupt. It's like a good-luck ritual at this point."
Rodney frowned, "What're talking about?"
Even Wally broke his concentration and swiveled his head to look at Matt in confusion.
With a snort, Matt pointed out, "Clark always looks for the girl, finds her, then plays harder than ever and we win the game. He's been doing it for weeks." He shrugged, "I mean, whatever works, right?"
He did? Huh. He guessed he did...
"You got a girlfriend and didn't say anything?" Rodney accused, a little hurt. "Ouch."
"It's not like that," Wally assured him, though he felt his cheeks flush and his lips curve into a dopey smile.
Rodney studied Wally for a moment and then, "Alright, my man, what's her name?" A big, teasing grin on his face.
Wally opened his mouth to answer before he realized, shit, he actually had no idea. You hadn't given him your name the afternoon he'd accidentally pelted you with a basketball.
"You're not serious." Rodney said flatly, "you don't even know her name?" while Matt slapped his knee and crowed.
Wally was about to defend himself when, just over Rodney's shoulder, there you were, gaze already on him. His insides instantly went gooey, broad smile stretched across his face, and Rodney leveled him with an unimpressed look that Wally refused to acknowledge.
"For the love of God, ask for her name." Rodney commanded before he stuck his mouthguard between his teeth.
The whistle blew and the game continued.
The Devils won.
‗•‗
Taking Rodney's suggestion was somewhat harder than Wally had anticipated. He just couldn't bring himself to do it, nerves piqued whenever he caught sight of you in the hall. He wasn't a nervous guy—Wally was a big, brave boy, thank you very much—but something about you made him stutter and overthink and, aaah, what would he even say!? Hey, thanks for coming to watch me play after I hit you in the face. Also, what's your name, girl who I share a new, ongoing at-game tradition?
Lame.
He needed more information. ✨A r e a s o n✨. Some unavoidable situation wherein Wally had to go up to you that didn't insist upon itself. Or he could actually be a big, brave boy and just say hi as casually as you'd told Wally he was fun to watch.
Between the last game and the next, Wally began gathering facts from a distance (while Rodney's gaze burned a hole into the side of Wally's head).
He learned that you sat with a group of sophomores in the cafeteria, laughing along yet not interjecting, comfortable giving the stage to your friends. Being a year below him explained why Wally hadn't noticed you before, but since that fateful day in the gym, he hadn't been able to stop noticing you.
You were quiet, though not in a shy way. You often spent time in the library—or, rather, you were always in the library when Wally happened to be, nose in a book on the windowsill. You stepped aside to let people go through a door first, and smiled at everyone; and on Mondays and Thursdays your fingers and jeans were smeared with charcoal from your Art class.
Your clothes changed, but your shoes didn't. Beat up Converse you clearly loved to death. You carried around a Sony walkman like the one Keith had, headphones on in the mornings and around your neck in the afternoons. Wally wanted to know what music you listened to.
Truth be told, he wanted to know a lot of things. Like your favorite movie and what you did in your spare time. If you went to parties or preferred to stay home and play boardgames (he wouldn't mind trading a sticky ping-pong ball for a Monopoly shoe). Were you strictly a cassette girl or did you listen to vinyl, too? Bike or license? Star Trek or Star Wars? Tom or Jerry?
God, Wally had it bad. He wanted to know everything. Every detail.
And, finally, after several failed attempts to muster the courage to cold approach you, ✨a r e a s o n✨ fell into Wally's lap and he decided it was now or never.
Practice had just ended. He was loose and warm and in a good mood, and after saying goodbye to the guys on the field, he turned and saw you sitting alone on the bleachers. Headphones on like a headband, the earpieces behind your ears. You scribbled in a notebook, tongue peeking out of the corner of your mouth, clearly 100% focused on whatever you were working on.
Wally's eyes softened and his heartbeat sped up. You were adorable.
Clearing his throat to announce himself, he climbed the bleachers and shuffled across the middle bench to take a seat beside you.
"Hey," He smiled, broad and hopefully not too eager.
Your head lifted and you smiled back.
Wally melted inside.
"Hi, Wally Clark," You said as you closed your notebook and shifted to give him your full attention. "Not practicing your free throws today?" You teased with a glint in your eye.
Wally ducked his head as he chuckled, "Nah, not today. I decided to leave that to the professionals."
"Mm, yeah, that might be for the best," And then, fixing him with a cheeky grin, "You know, if dodgeball ever becomes a recognized sport, you should totally join a team."
Wally pressed his lips together, doing his best to hide how big his smile would be otherwise, before he glanced at you with a raised brow, "Oh. So, you're funny?"
You giggled like sweet melody, "Let's call it observant."
He released his smile, heart fluttering in his chest, eyes flickering across your face to take in every detail. There was something in him—a magnet behind his ribs—that drew Wally toward you. He couldn't explain it. Barely knew you enough to label it as more than attraction, but it was more. His gaze dipped to your lips, traced the shape of your smile, then skirted back up to meet your eyes.
"Alright, let's call it observant." He agreed, his smile somehow widening.
After a moment of comfortable silence, "Your feints are getting better," you commented, "I can't predict which way you're gonna go anymore."
And he positively preened; spine straight, chest puffed out, proud to have earned your admiration. Maybe that's what'd always been missing. He'd never had to work for it, everyone throwing themselves at his feet just for a split second of his attention. Wally had always been approached, never had to do the approaching.
Was that the thrill of the chase?
No. Of course not. You weren't the deer to his crosshairs. But he had to admit, it was nice that he could trust you weren't talking to him to get something out of it. Which is probably why, before he could stop himself, Wally blurted:
"Do you wanna hang out tomorrow?"
You seemed surprised, brows shooting up. Still, your smile remained and, with a chuckle, you nodded, "That would be nice." And then, eyes narrowing, "Nowhere that involves you having to throw things, though, right?"
Hand to his heart, "I'll save it for the field," Wally promised, suddenly feeling giddy and overwhelmed. He had to resist the urge to bite his lip in excitement. Raked his fingers through his hair and glanced bashfully away to compose himself.
"Very appreciated." You bumped your shoulder against his arm.
The brief contact ignited a thousand butterflies to take flight in his belly. He stood, gathered his sports bag and beamed down at you. You looked back, all cute and sweet and appearing nowhere near as affected as Wally felt which made him feel a little silly for the intensity of his body's reactions to you.
"How about the arcade...around 3?" He suggested, putting as much confidence behind his words as he could.
After a moment's thought, "Can we make it in the evening? Say around 6?" You asked.
"Yeah," Wally replied, "Yeah, we can make it 6." He took a couple of backward steps, "I can pick you up at your place."
You shook your head, "I'll meet you there."
"Great, it's a date," He nearly choked when he registered what he'd said, face absolutely flaming, though he didn't take it back. He almost tripped over his own feet when you didn't correct him.
Instead, all you said was, "Can't wait."
You didn't see it—God, he hoped you didn't see it—but as soon as he was off the bleachers and a good enough distance away, Wally fist pumped, practically vibrating out of his skin. Holy crap, he was going on a date with you! He was going to spend time with you, get to know you, connect with you the way he'd always wanted to connect with someone outside of Rodney, Don, and Keith.
It was only when he was in his car and on his way home to shower that he realized he still didn't know your name.
He could hear Rodney's eyeroll from there.
‗•‗
You'd noticed Wally from the start. It was difficult not to, the guy a high-rise human, towering over most of the student body. But, it wasn't just his physical presence. Nor was it how good he was at attracting attention on and off the field with his exuberance and abundance of energy.
It was the moments between the jokes he made with his friends. Between performing for the crowd when he led the Devils to victory. The somber, introspective moments he thought he had to himself. And he did, for the most part. You'd never meant to intrude. It just so happened that he often used the same spaces you did to find peace.
You weren't surprised that he hadn't noticed you before he'd lodged a basketball at your head. Few people did. Not bitterly; that was just simply how things had befallen you and you'd learned to adjust. In fact, you had approximately two people you considered close and had realized that was more than enough. Still, you enjoyed meeting people where you could. They were fascinating. And, these days, none were so fascinating as Wally Clark.
He had hands that swallowed whatever they held; a smile that brightened a room; and eyes that made your skin tingle, their gaze soulful and heavy whenever they landed on you at his games like a prize. You craved those eyes on you, a flower to sunlight, and were excited beyond measure that you'd have them all to yourself for a night.
When he'd asked you out, it'd taken everything in your power not to kick your feet and giggle in delight. Be cool, you'd told yourself, acting as though you hadn't been daydreaming about Wally Clark since you'd first heard his name in the halls. What you wouldn't have given to spend more of Saturday with him, but things were somewhat strange for you, and you'd had to shave the hours down.
As restrictive as it was, you were only able to go out when the town was sleepier. The streets less crowded, the energy laggard; the shadows darker and the moon visible. You had hard rules to follow, but after sundown, you had freedom you didn't otherwise have. You could sneak out unnoticed and do as you pleased so long as you were back before sunrise.
It sucked, but it was what it was and there was nothing you could do about it, so you'd set the time for your date with Wally later and hoped you'd be satisfied with the hours you and he did get to be together.
When you arrived at the arcade, Wally was already there, leaning against the exterior wall, hands shoved in his pockets, his expression transforming from teen mag sultry to puppy bright when he caught sight of you. Don't squeal, don't squeal, don't squeal—you did great, kid—you waved sweetly and took measured steps toward him, matching his expression with a happy one of your own.
"Hey, you made it," Wally said as if he'd been worried you'd flake.
"Like I'd miss the chance to kick your ass at Space Invaders." You scoffed, hands on your hips as you pinned him with a challenging look.
Wally laughed and the sound when straight to your chest, settled between your ribs, and you knew your eyes were likely doing something dreamy and dazed. If he noticed, he didn't comment; held out his arm like a gentleman and escorted you inside.
You did, in fact, kick his ass at Space Invaders.
‗•‗
Whatever, you may have beaten him at Space Invaders, but Wally wiped the floor with you at Time Pilot. To further impress you with his skills, he won you a prize from the claw crane. Overlooking the fact that it'd taken several coins and a lot of cursing, Wally felt like the king of the world having handed over a plastic ball stuffed with enough raffle tickets that you could take home a plastic necklace.
He looked for any and every opportunity to touch you; grazed the back of his hand across yours, then, bolder, squeezed you into his side as you and he moved between machines. Just as you were about to beat his score at Pac Man, he grabbed you around the waist and spun you away from the control panel, watching in triumph when the monitor announced Game Over and Wally's score beat yours by more points than you could come back from.
You shrieked and giggled when he slung you over his shoulder to carry you to the new air hockey table. You sprung into his arms when he defended your honor at the foosball table against another pair of patrons. By the end of the night, he had your hand in his, fingers laced, as he walked you home.
It'd been the most fun he'd had in—God—forever. Yeah, he hung out with the guys, went camping and played videogames and did things. Always busy, always entertained. Or, rather, he did the entertaining. A constant performance to keep people interested. Tonight, with you, it'd been different. He was relaxed, completely at ease, feeling like himself for the first time in too many years. His chest felt lighter.
When you and he reached your house, not too far from the arcade, you stopped and positioned yourself to face him, beautiful smile on your face that softened under his gaze. He didn't want tonight to end. Wished it could go on through tomorrow and the next day and the one after that.
"This was a lot of fun, Wally," You murmured as you stepped closer, bottom lip caught between your teeth in a way that made his heartrate spike and his head foggy.
He nodded, "Yeah," and lifted a hand to trail his fingertips along the slope of your jaw, "I wanna do it again, like, now."
You chuckled, and when did your lips get so close to his? "You just wanna try and beat my Donkey Kong score." You accused, breath hitching when the tip of his nose grazed your cheek.
Wally couldn't refute that, but didn't want to, his mind already on other things. Better things. Things like—his lips brushed yours, soft and gentle at first, testing the waters, and when you gasped so prettily, he pressed in. Kissed you slow, his hand climbing to rest on the back of your head to angle you just right. The kiss let in and took out, over and over, until Wally was breathless and dizzy.
He kept you there, one hand trailing down your side to your hip, the other tangling in your hair, for what felt like hours though it must've only been several minutes. He couldn't let go. Couldn't stop. Your tongue against his the most incredible thing he'd ever tasted.
But, eventually, you had to pull away, "It's late."
He kissed you one more time for the road, watched you stealthily maneuver around the side of your house and disappear around the corner, probably to sneak back into your room before anyone realized you'd been gone. Something about the fact that you'd risked getting in trouble for him thrilled Wally.
Once you were out of sight, Wally turned in the direction of home, an obvious bounce in his step as he replayed the night—the kiss, how your lips had yielded under his—on a loop.
Again, it wasn't until much later that he remembered he still hadn't asked for your name.
Fuck.
‗•‗
In typical 1980s fashion, this movie had a montage that Wally revisited almost obsessively. Sure, things had progressed rather quickly between you and him; one minute you were the stranger he viciously—but not on purpose!—attacked with a ball, and the next you were every thought, desire, emotion, response Wally was capable of.
After sundown, like hoodlums, he took you to the roller rink and skated on legs made of Jell-O because you insisted you needed his limbs to support your stilted efforts. Except, as soon as a single-digit child cried his frustration, there you were, a professional ballerina on wheels, teaching the child how to balance and move. You weren't even sheepish when you fessed up to the ruse.
"I like how it feels," You said simply, shrugged, and tucked yourself into Wally's side to prove the point, "You feel safe."
Yeah, Wally couldn't argue to save his life, addicted to how you felt in his arms as much as you seemed drawn to be there. You and he danced under the colored lights, spun and chased and discoed like divas, deliberately falling into each other at every chance. Wally didn't complain when you brought him to the ground with you after a miscalculated dip.
Days later, you and he jumped and screamed along to live music (the lyrics all totally wrong, but the melody right), crashing bodies pressing you together. Halfway through the concert, the surrounding mania receded as he rocked you gently, kissed you with meaning in the eye of a mosh pit; squawked when you poked his side to tickle him and then booked it through the crowd for an impromptu, wild game of hide-n-seek.
An empty movie theater for a screening of last year's horror films. Popcorn missiles thrown when he dared suggest Halloween was better than My Bloody Valentine. Finger to his lips, his hand firm around yours, crouched as he led you into another theater after the first movie. Four altogether, most of them ignored in favor of making out in the back row until an usher kicked you and Wally out for inappropriate behavior.
Heads close, toes pointed toward opposite walls, listening to Nebraska in a patch of moonlight on Wally's bedroom floor after a grueling week of exams and Wally's mama nagging him to get fitted for new skates before hockey season. He turned his head, admired your profile, lashes fanned on the arches of peach-blushed cheeks. His heart fluttered and his eyes softened as he watched you doze to the music. Between Used Cars and Open All Night, Wally propped himself on an elbow and kissed you upside-down. Chuckled when you nipped his chin and retaliated by adjusting his position, pinning you beneath his body, and kissing you senseless.
Throughout it all, you never missed a game, football or hockey or lacrosse. You'd put an end to the scavenger hunt, now a pillar of motivation—front row, center—and waved that glittery poster with an enthusiasm that outshone his mama's. The new arrangement made it easier for Wally, sweaty and hot, to leap over the barrier and lift and twirl you after each victory. Or, alternatively, for you to hurdle into his arms to comfort and reassure him after each loss.
Over the summer, Wally reminisced fondly on his junior year and everything you and he had done together. He missed you, a deep ache in his heart while your family apparently traveled for the months between school years. You wrote letters and used payphones to speak to him every Wednesday and Saturday, and it helped sustain him until you returned, but, God, he couldn't wait to see you again. To have you cuddled against him on the couch or in his lap on the bleachers at lunch or under him in his bed.
He craved you like a bad habit. Your scent, your touch, your taste. The soft affection you and he traded; lips stamped to a shoulder, fingers carding through each other's hair. How Wally held you, arm banded around your chest, hand under your chin to angle your face up so he could kiss you from behind.
Soon, he reminded himself. Three more days and he'd have his girl at his side again.
His girl whose name continued to elude him.
‗•‗
The night of the '83 Homecoming game, Wally felt a dread unlike he'd ever felt before. A lump of lead in his stomach. He had you in his lap. Light, gentle brushes of his lips memorized the shape of your neck and jaw, his arms tight around you, as you helped distract him from his uncharacteristic pre-game nerves.
"I'll be right there, Wally Clark," You promised with a sweet smile.
And you were. In the seat beside his mama when the crack of bone echoed across the stadium like thunder.
He spent the following weeks oscillating between grief and rage, too consumed by the confusion and fear and loss of his own life to find the strength to seek you out. He didn't want to know how you handled it. Him. His no-longer-thereness. If you were as deeply sad as he was or if you could move on and make it through. Wally didn't think he could handle it if he saw you smile again if he wasn't responsible for it.
Eventually, though, he couldn't deny it anymore. Had to see you. That magnetic pull led him to find you outside, basking in the December sun, no jacket, laying across the middle bench on the bleachers that overlooked the field behind the school.
He climbed up and took a quiet seat beside you. You didn't look any different. Serene, in fact, as you lay there, your notebook rested on the bench above. Wally sighed heavily, traced the air around your cheek as his breath choked and his heart shattered. He had so much he wanted to say to you, but didn't know where to begin—I miss you, I wish I didn't die, I need to hold you again. Sentiments that didn't make a difference anymore. He gazed at your notebook and wondered if you'd written anything about him.
And then, to his surprise:
"I was wondering how long it would take before you'd come find me."
His eyes whipped to you and he saw you staring upside-down at him, neck craned back slightly and a warm grin on your face.
"Y-you can see me!?" Wally gaped as you sat up and scooched closer to him.
"Of course I can." You said so easily that Wally had to think for a second if he was supposed to understand how it was possible. No one else had been able to see him, hear him, feel him.
"...how?"
You giggled, the sound a boon to his despairing soul, "Being dead isn't so bad, you know. I mean, it sucks, but you get used to it pretty quick." Taking his hand in yours, fingers laced, "And, when the memory of you starts to fade, you start to absorb the insane amount of teen angst." You snorted at something Wally assumed was supposed to be funny. "Makes you solid for awhile. You'll even be able leave the school at night which I'd consider something to look forward to, no?"
"I guess," Wally wheezed as his brain tried desperately to catch up to what was happening. He stared at you, bewildered, lost, hopeful, elated, "You're dead?" One, two beats, "You were dead the whole time?"
You smiled and nodded, leaned away from him to hold out your other hand for him to shake. That's when he heard it for the first time, your name, the syllables like angelic melody to his ears. You added, "Class of '57. Nice to meet you."
"But...I walked you home. I saw your house."
"You saw a house." You corrected.
He couldn't believe it. You were dead. You were like Wally. You were with Wally.
Without hesitation, Wally scooped you into his arms and kissed you like he'd wanted to since he'd risen from his body. He soaked up all the comfort and reassurance and love you offered with your lips. The idea of eternity no longer seemed so permanent and awful if you were in it.
You pulled away just enough to bump the tip of your nose against his, that smile he adored melting every worry and fear that'd followed him off the field.
"So, how do you wanna spend your afterlife, Wally Clark? We could play dodgeball now that you know you can't actually hurt me."
He felt a grin form, wide and joyful, and answered, "However you want." After a soft lull that Wally used to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear and cup your cheek, "I just wanna spend it with you." His girl, whose name he would treasure forever in his heart.

A/N: I continue to be overwhelmed by the love you all have given this series. I appreciate you all so much. Everyone who have commented, reblogged and followed- thank you so much. I love reading everything and I have had so much fun seeing everyone's reactions. It fills me with so much joy. Let me know what you think of this next chapter!
His knuckles were white from his grip on the steering wheel, Steve felt like he lost control of his actions as he resolved to follow Eddie’s van. Eddie had said you wanted space, but now he’s here picking you up from the game? What the actual fuck. He’s fuming, the longer the night goes on. He should’ve just gone home, probably. But he was so angry at himself for taking forever, he couldn’t wait another second. He’d finally had the epiphany. He loves you. He wants you so badly, he can’t find it in him to care if he ruins everything.
Earlier that day, it had hit him all at once. That overwhelming, all encompassing realization that stopped him dead in his tracks. Robin had left for the day, and he was stuck behind the counter rewinding returned tapes. He’d been sitting with his own thoughts. He was thinking about that dream, and then he was also just thinking about you. You took up all his senses- all he could think about was you. He looked back on shared moments with you in a different light. So many moments between the two of you that would’ve been your start. How could he have not seen it, seen you, all this time?
Oh.
Oh.
He’d bailed on the rest of his shift at Family Video, fuck it. Keith wouldn’t fire him anyways. He knew Robin mentioned the game- of course you’d be there. He’d realized he loved you and didn’t want to waste another second. He wanted to find you in the crowd, climb up over the stands to whoever you were, and finally fucking kiss you. It was his grand gesture.
His plan would have worked, but it was easier said than done. The confidence he felt before was wiped from him when he saw the way your face fell. He thought you didn’t want to see him, and that you were upset to run into him. He misread your sadness for distaste and resentment. That brief moment made his whole world come tumbling down around him. You were sad because you missed him, but he didn’t know that. So his plan fumbled in a moment of panic.
Seeing you with Eddie had been his final straw. He felt like a ticking clock counting down was looming over his head. He was running out of time, he was losing you. He couldn’t let that happen. Was he going about it the right way? Probably not, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care in the least as he stormed over. Everything he’d been feeling was heightened. He was panicked and desperate and angry and so fucking jealous. This should’ve been him with you, driving you home in his car, and he had fucked that up.
Eddie remembers how nervous he was when he picked you up for the dance that Friday night. He’d done his best to tame his hair, and Wayne let him borrow his suit. Wayne had stayed to help with his tie and to give him a talking to about how to be a gentleman when Eddie went to pick you up.
“Actually go up to the goddamn door and knock. Say good evening to her parents,” Wayne instructed. “Make sure you hold her hand to help her down the stairs, open her car door, hold the door for her…”
“Wayne I know, I know,” Eddie fused, worried he was going to be late. “It’s not a date anyways,” Eddie insists, although he wished it was. Wayne scoffs.
“Whatever you say,” he said, rolling his eyes at Eddie.
“Lemme get a picture,” Wayne had insisted, stopping Eddie from running out the door. Grumbling the whole time, Eddie stood in their little kitchen while Wayne fumbled with his old camera. “You never look halfway decent, gotta capture it for the book.”
The photo is still hanging up on Wayne’s fridge to this day. Eddie has not worn a suit since.
Arriving at your house was so daunting to Eddie. He’d never really met your parents before. Just in passing when he’d pick you up or drop you off for school. He’d been to your house before, you’d hosted a few times for Hellfire- but it was never anything like this. This was special.
He went up to the door like Wayne instructed and he shook your dad’s hand. He was worried that they’d judge him- they would hate his hair or something. It’s the first time he’s relieved that his tattoos aren’t out on display. They were both kind to him, but he could tell they were not sure how to react to him. Self-conscious, he worried they were disappointed because he wasn’t Steve. Eddie wasn’t who they pictured for you. They envisioned you with Steve. That was they future they had planned.
Eddie thought you looked absolutely unreal that night. He always thought that those scenes where the girl makes her grand entrance and floats down the stairs were corny. Until it happened to him and it felt like time stopped. Your descent down the stairs after your mom called you down had Eddie in a trance. You were angelic in your dress, the one Eddie will pretend you bought for him- not for Steve. Eddie must have been staring with his mouth agape, because your father needed to clear his throat for Eddie to realize you’d been expectantly waiting for him to say something. Literally anything.
“You look beautiful,” Eddie marveled, and you giggled a shy thank you. A few hundred photos later and you both were finally on your way.
You were right, the Snow Ball was not Eddie’s scene at all. He didn’t like the music, or the people, but he was just so happy to be spending time with you that he couldn't care about literally anything else. You seemed happy too. Eddie thought you were glowing. He even danced to every song you wanted and took the cheesy photo booth pictures. You tore the photo strip in half so you could each have some. You use yours as a bookmark to this day and Eddie’s is still clipped to the visor in the van.
You’d hardly even noticed Steve the whole night. Eddie kept you on your feet and kept you laughing so hard your stomach hurt.
The bang on the side of the van made you jump. You both were startled. You watched as Eddie’s eyes widened as the panic set in for both of you. Neither of you had ever seen Steve like this, it wasn’t his nature. You both didn’t know what to do.
“Just wait here,” Eddie said comfortingly, before jumping out of the van. “I’ll talk to him.”
Steve stood outside waiting impatiently, his hands on his hips as his chest rapidly rose and fell. His hair was messy, as you watched from the side mirror, you could tell he’d been tugging at it- a nervous habit of his you knew quite well.
“What the fuck is this?” He accuses. Eddie offers his hands up in surrender jokingly.
“Come on Steve…”
“You told me she wanted space! Then you swoop in and pull this shit?”
“She did want space- not to be fucking ignored for weeks!” Eddie points out. “You had every opportunity and you just left her alone, so how long did you expect me to just stand around while you play these fucking mind games with her? I was the bigger person, Steve! I was willing to literally take myself out of the fucking equation if you both wanted each other- and you didn’t do shit!”
Steve looks towards the van and you make eye contact in the side mirror. He looks devastated under the outward projection of anger. It’s like you’re a million miles away. He can’t be too late. He just couldn’t. How is he supposed to just walk away after everything? Is this just it? He pleads that you’ll do something- say something- anything! Just tell him you still care.
You avert your gaze. Steve shallows harshly.
Eddie crosses his arms, and steps in front of Steve’s view of you. “Come on man,” Steve pleads, voice cracking. “Let me just talk to her.”
Eddie looks to you, and you shake your head “no.”
“How about you call her tomorrow when you cool off? You’re scaring her,” Eddie proposes.
“You don’t speak for her,” Steve argues. “Baby, please,” he pleads looking over Eddie’s shoulder.
Baby? Eddie fumes- he can not be serious.
You roll down the window a crack. “I’ll call you tomorrow, Steve. I don’t want to talk to you right now,” you shout from the van. Before he can respond, you crank the window back up.
“Fine,” Steve glares at Eddie. It’s not over, but he’ll concede for now- if it’s what you want. He slams his car door shut before speeding away, the car screaming as he pulled away as quickly as he could.
He knew his parents would be gone, so he opted to go to their house to crash tonight. He couldn’t bear facing Eddie back at their place after this.
You don’t even realize that you’d be crying until you feel Eddie’s arms pull you in for a hug. He rubs your back comforting you as you are shocked at what just happened.
“I’m so sorry, sweetheart,” he mumbles into your hair before placing a kiss on the top of your head. “Let me bring you home, yeah?”
The ride back to your apartment is silent, neither one of you knowing what to say. Eddie doesn’t want to push, and you’re too exhausted to get into it. You rest your forehead on the cold glass of the window to help your head. Eddie wants to reach out and hold your hand as he drives, but he keeps his distance.
Eddie always walks you all the way to your front door, even after you’ve told him he doesn’t have to so many times. Wayne would kill me, he would joke. He held the door open for you so you could hop out. He held your arm, helping you navigate the icy walk. And he walked you upstairs to your apartment.
There’s a piece of paper taped to the front of the door.
I decided to spend the night at Vicky’s. Do with that information what you will. - Robin
“I don’t want to be alone,” you admit, a little panicked knowing you’d be walking into an empty apartment. Eddie sighs, biting his lip nervously. Steve is going to never want to see him again, he’s sure of it.
“I can stay if that would make you feel better?” He offers. You nod.
“Please.”
You pull the note down and toss it in the bin on your way inside. Eddie follows after you, kicking off his boots in the entryway. You both hang up your coats. You move over to the thermostat and turn it up. Eddie lingers in the living room, not quite sure what to do with himself. You both say nothing for a few moments.
“Eddie, I’m so sorry about all of this,” you say finally. “Just everything- everything is falling apart it feels like.”
“None of this is your fault- it’s really not anyone’s fault…well, except mine,” he says, like a confessional and he takes a step closer.
“Yeah,” you reply softly, matching his step.
The air in the room was thick with tension between the two of you. In the silence and still, there was a pull dragging you into each other.
“The whole thing is quite unfortunate really,” he contemplates, a knowing smile forming on his face. One step.
“Most unfortunate,” you whisper. One step. He reaches out and intertwines with fingers with his.
“Awful,” he whispers, tracing circles on your hands with his thumb gently. It sears through you completely.
He tilts his head and his lips ghost over yours. Your body feels like it’s on fire being so close to him. The first kiss is so delicate, and the familiar feeling ignites in you. It’s perfect, being held by him by this.
His lips are softer than you expect when they slot against yours. You let yourself forget about everything else in that moment- everything just melts away at his touch. Your brain melts at the sensation and warmth spreads throughout your whole body. You part your lips, inviting him to deepen the kiss and he does gladly.
Waiting for a kiss like this was worth it, Eddie thinks. All the nights he spent thinking about it and all the times he held back from touching you… all of it felt like nothing as you fill up all his senses. It’s almost too much.
“Sweetheart… please,” he begs, mumbling against your lips. His hands rest on the expanse of your back and the sensation sends a shiver up your spine. You gently tug by his belt loops closer to you, so your body is flush against his. You moan softly against his lips.
Without disentangling himself from you, he guides you as you walk backwards towards the door of your bedroom. His hands make everywhere on your skin burn in their wake as he brings them down your back, to your hip, then settle firmly on your ass. It makes you whimper.
The back of you knees touch the edge of your bed, and you let yourself fall backwards- pulling Eddie to climb on top of you. His hair tickles as it curtains your faces, and he leans in to press hot kisses to your jaw and down your neck, a hickey forming right where he ends just above your collarbone.
When he pulls back briefly, you take the opportunity to pull your sweater over your head and toss it to the floor. Eddie’s movements stutter, his eyes hungrily taking in all of the newly exposed skin. You were a vision. “Shit,” he breathes, “look at you.”
He wastes no time pulling his shirt over his head, tossing it somewhere behind him. Warmth rushes to your core at the sight of his tattoos, the subtle muscle under his pale skin, the chain around his neck, the happy trail that leads down to wear his jeans are hanging low on his hips and showing off a prominent bulge… you’re fucked. He sits up on his knees over your thighs and your body aches at the separation.
You watch as he takes his hair and gathers it together in his hands. Making a ponytail should not be this sexy, but it’s Eddie. He winks at you as he does when he notices the way you’re staring with your mouth open, heaving breathing.
“Take these off, sweetheart,” Eddie hums, nodding down to your jeans as he pulls the elastic from his wrist around to secure it in his hair. You’re face is warm as you nod, wiggling out of them and kicking them away. You’re left in just your bra and panties and spread out before him.
“These are so pretty,” he muses, teasingly, running his ringed fingers over the skin just above the edge of your panties. He kneels down on the floor at the foot of the bad, hooking your legs over his shoulders in one fluid motion. “So pretty,” he mumbles, pressing delicate, teasing kisses to your inner thighs as his hands rub up and down the length of your legs.
His eyes are directly in line with the wet spot that has formed on your panties. It aches, and you’re desperate for him to do something about it. Without him even touching you yet, you’re squirming in the anticipation that he will do something to soothe the sensation that has been building up in your core.
He presses a kiss to your heat over your panties, his nose pressing against your clit and the feeling makes you gasp, relieved for just the littlest amount of contact. Satisfied with your response to him, he hooks his thumb through your panties, and drags them aside- the metal of his rings feel cool against the hotness of your skin and it makes you flutter.
He grins devilishly, “All of this for me, pretty girl?”
One hand holds your panties, the other rests on your hip to hold you steady when Eddie wastes no time, devouring you. His nose against your clit, his tongue lapping at your arousal- it was too much. He was like a man starved. How dare you deny him this for so long. He was desperate to taste you, and he groans- he knew you’d be so fucking sweet. He just knew it.
He pulls back to rub his thumb over your clit, making circles that feel so good you could cry. You’re so needy, writhing in his arms as you feel a familiar knot form in your stomach. With his thumb firmly in place, he returns to latch his tongue back to you.
“Eddie,” you whine, your hands tangles in your sheets to stabilize yourself. Your head is spinning, and you know you’re so fucking close. “Please,” you cry desperately at the sensation, chasing your climax.
Eddie continues his pace, the exact way you need him to and he continues to work you through your first orgasm. He kisses your thighs when you finish and he smiles at you- his face glistening with your slick. Cheeky bastard. He kisses your legs, your stomach and all the way back up to your lips, tasting yourself on him. He tugs off your panties and tosses them on the floor. Something about making you cum, a switch flipped in Eddie.
He’s kissing you like he’s depending on it to survive, he’s feeling confident and desperate to do that again. He practically growls against your skin, face buried in your neck. He works off his jeans and boxers. Your mouth waters. He’s gorgeous fucking everywhere.
“Your turn,” you mumble, unhooking your bra, eyes wandering to Eddie’s hard cock. He shakes his head, kissing you again. Fuck if he doesn’t want that, but he can’t trust himself to not completely fall apart.
“Next time, sweetheart,” he promises, and you pout. “Need to fuck you,” he mutters against your lips, his blood breath heavy against yours. You moan at his words.
“Please, Eds,” you drawl, “need you inside me.”
He teases your entrance, the top of his cock so painfully close to pushing inside you. “I’m going to fuck you so good you’ll forget all about Steve, sweetheart.”
“Oh, fuck, Eddie please,” you whine, you hips trying to create some friction, already desperate and needy for another release. Oh, you liked that, Eddie muses. He can deliver.
“He doesn’t deserve this pretty pussy does he?” Eddie muses, pushing in just the tip of his cock, watching as you fall apart, desperate for more of him. “This perfect… fuck, tight pussy,” he moans, pushing himself fully into you.
“Can’t take care of you as good as I can,” he promises, thrusting into you at just the right, hitting that spot that makes your brain go stupid. You feel so full of him, you can’t imagine anyone feeling better than Eddie by the way he’s fucking into you.
“He’s never gonna fuck you as good as this,” Eddie promises. You can believe it. He leans down and kisses your neck, his hand massaging your breast, tugging gently at your hard nipple before giving the same care and attention to the other one as well. He whispers more filthy things against your neck, and you moan- your body responding to his so well.
“Fit around me so good, sweetheart,” he muses, hot kisses trailing over the stance of your neck, “you take my cock so well.”
“Such a good girl… making my cock all messy,” he praises, and then he presses his lips to yours in a desperately messy kiss. “Fuck, sweetheart…”
Tears threaten the corners of your eyes, it all is too good, too overwhelming. You’re so over sensitive from your first orgasm, you are reaching your peak again, all too quickly for your liking. You can’t help it- he feels too good and he’s so fucking attentive and fuck- you feel so close.
“Cum on my cock princess,” Eddie encourages, feeling you tighten around his cock. “you’re gonna look so good for me, let me see you cum for me, yeah?”
He holds your cheeks in his hand, your lips squished together as you look up at him, wide eyed. “You can do it, be a good girl and cum all over my cock,” he encourages. It’s just enough to make you fall apart all over again. Messy things spilling from your mouth as your body pulses and he continues his pace, working you through it- kissing your forehead.
Eddie pulls out, making a mess on your stomach as he cums. Exhausted, he collapses on the bed next to you. He kisses you softly, praising you for being so good for him. It makes you feel like putty. He disappears for a second, disappearing behind the door. He comes back with water for you and a warm cloth. He kisses you, making you take the water from him, and then he cleans you up gently, kissing your body all over after the job is done.
You don’t know what you’re going to say to Steve. All you care about now, is burrowing yourself into Eddie’s chest. For the first time in weeks, you and Eddie both actually sleep soundly, limbs tangled together- your bodies intertwined.

Can you do a fic where you're a crew/cast member and have been in a relationship with Spencer for a few years and he finally proposes? I'm thinking something cute where he proposes on set where the two of you first met after everyone has gone home for the day. Love your work btw!
I love this one so much!
I THINK I WANNA MARRY YOU | Spencer Agnew x F!Reader

Description: When the four newest Smosh cast members are curious as to how Y/N and Spencer met. The story time turns into another heartwarming story.
People always say that you will know when you find the one. The person you’re supposed to be with for the rest of your life. It’d be like a cool wind or just a relaxed feeling when you meet them.
That’s what Y/N thought back in 2016 when she was dating Kevin. He was a nice guy. He had a good job and was pretty attractive, but he was a major cheater. You see, Y/N found him multiple times with multiple different women after promising time and time again not to do it again.
During this time, she started working at a new company called Smosh as a cast member. Her job was to be funny but it was really hard with everything going on in her life at the time. Thankfully, she made many friends with Courtney, Shayne, Keith, and Olivia when she first started but one person stood out in particular. She remembers the day like it was yesterday.
“Court, I’m telling you. I don’t need someone right now. I’m enjoying being single.” She says, she had been at the company only a couple of weeks but was already very close to the blonde. “Please, Y/N/N! You know I can help. I know that Kevin was a bad experience but you can’t let that hang you up.” She looks at Courtney with a bored expression before her eyes move behind her to the editing area, someone catching her attention.
He has curly hair that is styled back with dark stubble that matches his hair color. His skin is light with some olive undertones. He’s focused on the video in front of him but Y/N’s breath is caught in her throat. “Hey, hey, girly, are you okay?” Courtney asks, waving a hand in front of her face.
“Yeah, yeah, just…Court…who is that.” She nods her head towards the man as her friend turns to look, “Oh, that’s Spencer. He’s one of our editors. You haven’t met him yet?” They ask, shocked that she still hasn’t met him. “Well he’s going to be helping with the shoot today, you two can be introduced then,” Courtney says, smirking to themself with a thought.
Later when Y/N, Courtney, Damien, and Keith are getting miced up, Spencer walks in with his head focused on something. “Spencer! Hey, can you come over here?” Shayne asks, in on the plan Courtney thought up. He walks over, his laptop under his arm with raised brows “What’s up, Shayne?”
“Have you met Y/N yet? Our newest cast member?” Spencer looks over to see her chatting with Courtney, Damien, and Keith. Laughing at something Keith said and is taken aback. “N-No, I haven’t.” He stutters out. Shayne wraps an arm around Spencer’s shoulder, walking him over to the group.
“Y/N.” Shayne says and she turns, a big smile on her face that makes Spencer melt just looking at her. “What’s up?” She asks, looking at Shayne before her eyes widen when she sees Spencer. “I wanted to introduce you to Spencer. He’s one of our best editors here.” He pushes the man closer to her.
The two both look nervous, making their friends smile. It’s adorable. “N-Nice to meet you.” Spencer stutters out again, putting his hand out. She shakes it with a shy smile, “Nice to meet you too, I’m Y/N.”
“And that was how we met all those years ago. When you babies were still just babies.” Y/N says, cuddled into Spencer’s side as she talks to Chanse, Trevor, Angela, and Arasha about how the two met. “So you two have been sickeningly cute since you met? That’s not fair!” Chanse whines, making the couple laugh.
“Eh, I guess. We did have our rough patches though. We made it through, that’s all that matters.” Spencer says, kissing the top of Y/N’s head and she smiles. “Okay, okay, you two are making me sick. I’m going to get lunch. Who wants to join me?” Arasha asks, getting off the floor that the four were sitting on around the couple like it was story time.
“Me.” Trevor and Chanse say, following Arasha. “Wait, I wanna ask more questions!” Angela says while Chanse drags her with him. Y/N waves goodbye to the four, a loving smile on her face.
As the years have passed she has become a welcoming figure in the cast along with Courtney. She’s moved to be mostly on Games with Spencer and the two had become known as the parents of the gaming channel.
“Can you believe it’s been almost ten years? Where has time gone?” She asks, playing with his fingers and enjoying the two of them being alone for once. “I know, it seems to be just passing by. Feels like we just started dating not too long ago.” He says, smiling at her.
She gets off the couch and looks around, “It’s still crazy that Courtney got Shayne in on a plan for us to get together and now they’re married.” She says, giggling at the memory. “And the fact that we met, officially, on a set like this.” He says, getting off the couch and wrapping his arms around her waist. “Yeah, time is weird.” She says, leaning her head onto his shoulder.
“You know, I never really thought about marriage. At least, not until I met you.” He said, making her look at him confused. “You know I’ve dated a few people but I never really saw anything long-term with them. You’re different though, I knew the moment I saw you that I wanted something and I wanted it long-term.” He cups her face before moving to one knee.
“Spence, are you really?” She asks, covering her mouth. “I have loved you for years. I never want to stop loving you. You have been here for me through thick and thin. I cannot think of anyone more I want to spend my life with than you. Y/N L/N, will you marry me.” He asks, pulling out a small velvet box with a beautiful ring inside it.
“Spencer, oh my god.” She says, getting on her knees to be eye level with him. “Yes, yes, yes, yes.” She says grabbing his face and kissing him.
When the two pull away, he slides the ring on her finger as she looks at him lovingly. “Should we go tell everyone?” He asks, “In a minute. I just want to be here with you for now.” She says before kissing him again.

“Hey, Asher. Can you please watch the temperature of my reaction?” You asked, looking at Asher who was standing a few feet away from you.
“I haven’t taken my break yet.” You added, organizing your reports before looking up and saw that Asher was completely ignoring you.
He continued to focus his attention on the material that he was weighing on the scale sitting in front of him. He hasn’t talked to you, and he has been so distant ever since you went out with Aaron. That was weeks ago, and you have been seeing Aaron whenever he had time after doing all his press tours.
Everything had been great.
Aaron had been sweet, and you would spend your time with him at his house. He had met Sara once for dinner, and she was starstruck by him. She couldn’t even take her eyes off of him the whole time because she kept saying how he looked unreal. He had taken you out for another date and this time, he told you that he wanted to give you the cliché date, so he took you to a nice steak dinner in Malibu.
“So, this is the boring date that you were talking about when I mentioned Hannah's dates?” You teased him, chuckling softly.
“Yeah, but I’m your date, so it isn’t boring.” He winked before taking a sip of his wine.
You couldn’t help but laugh and enjoy the little safe bubble that you both have at the moment. You knew soon enough that it wasn’t going to last long, especially since he was an actor.
On the other hand, there was another person who seemed to be so affected by this. Snapping out of your thoughts, you called Asher’s name again, but he turned around and walked towards the oven to set the dish inside. You knew that he was hurting, but he was acting like a child. You shifted your eyes towards Luca, whose desk was across the lab from you.
He shook his head and stalked towards your desk, saying, “I’ll handle it.”
“Thanks, Luca. I won’t be long.” You gave him a small, soft smile.
“He’ll get over it,” Luca whispered as you nodded your head and walked out of the lab.
This was the last thing you wanted to do. Even if Asher could be so childish, you never wanted to hurt him or hurt his feelings. At the same time, you knew you had tried your best to let him know for years now that you weren’t interested. Sighing, you slipped your lab coat off, hung it on the wall and walked towards the break room.
You greeted a smile as you passed by a few of the employees as soon as you entered the break room. You made your way to the kitchen and found Keith brewing some coffee. Your eyes shifted towards the mug he was holding, making you smile. It was the mug you gave him last Christmas. It said, “Chaos Coordinator” on it, and you thought it fitted him perfectly.
“Good morning, sir.” You smiled, grabbing a paper cup from the counter.
“Hello.” He smiled, giving you a curt nod.
“How are you?” You asked, leaning your back against the counter as you both waited for the coffee to finish brewing.
He stifled a sigh as he said, “Oh, you know… busy. As always.”
You chuckled softly and said, “Well, just hang in there. I know things have been piling up again.”
Keith grabbed the coffee pot and set it on the other counter. He gestured for you to go first.
“Thanks.” You murmured, pouring the coffee into your paper cup.
You made your way to the fridge and grabbed the creamer, pouring a little bit of it on your coffee. You took a sip of your fresh hot coffee, letting the hot delicious liquid consume you and sighed happily.
“How’s production going in the lab?” Keith asked, sipping his black coffee.
Good, but Asher’s being an ass.
“It’s fine.” You shrugged, “It’s more extra work, but I think we can handle it since there are no rush orders anyway.”
Keith stared at you like he wasn’t believing what you just told him. There was a crease between his brows as he silently took a long, deep breath.
What was up with people and those looks lately?
“You know my office door is always open if you need to talk, right?” He said.
There it was. You knew it!
You didn’t even have to guess what he was thinking because you could see it by his reaction. He didn’t believe your reply to him. Honestly, you wouldn’t either, but you couldn’t help but wonder if it was your facial expression that was giving away your lies.
Everything was fine, technically. It was just that… Asher was being an ass lately, and the guilt was slowly crawling into your insides and scratching up the surface.
“Yes, of course.” You gave him a reassuring smile. “Thank you.”
“How’s Asher?” Keith tilted his head at you, curious.
Did he know something? You felt your heart race because if you lied to him, and he knew the truth then you would also be caught in a lie. There was no way Keith knew something, right? He didn’t come into the lab much, and you haven’t said anything to Max that the word could travel to Keith.
“He’s… He’s fine.” You stuttered. “He’s doing his job.”
Now, you could see why he didn’t believe you. You were such a bad liar.
You gave him a simple answer where he couldn’t ask any more questions. You couldn’t help but mentally chuckle at yourself because Keith trained you to be like this whenever people came to visit the site for inspections.
“Okay,” Keith lifted his arm to look at the time on his watch as he nodded his head. “Well, if there’s a problem, please don’t hesitate to come and talk to me.”
“Thank you.” You forced a smile.
“I have another meeting in five minutes so have a good day.” He gave you a curt nod again and a polite smile before walking out of the break room.
That was… weird.
“Shit.” You whispered to yourself as you walked out of the break room.
He definitely knew something.
________
“Okay, but that’s different, Sara,” Luca argued. “Eli has a normal life, and he’s literally sweet from the way you talked about him. He seemed different from your other toxic exes.”
Ivy nodded her head, “Remember Jude?”
Luca scrunched up his face and made a disgusting look on his face. “Ew. He was the worst out of your three exes.”
“I heard he’s married now.” Sara played with the fork that was on her plate.
“Well, thoughts and prayers for his new wife.” Luca raised his glass in the air before taking a sip. “But honestly, give Eli a chance. He seems so sweet and understanding.”
You slowly tuned out the conversation between your friends as you shifted your eyes toward Asher in the corner. He had been quiet all night, and he was on his fourth whiskey already. That guilty feeling slowly crept up on you again as you watched him take a sip of his drink and look out the window.
“Right?” Luca elbowed your arm.
“Huh?” You blinked repeatedly, snapping out of your thoughts.
“I was saying how Sara has a different situation because if it doesn’t work out with Eli, he still works in a different department from her but with yours, you would still be all over the internet,” Luca explained, tucking a hair behind his ear.
“Is Aaron bad news or something?” You asked, your voice almost a whisper.
From everyone’s reactions, you seem to doubt everything that was happening in your life. Maybe you weren’t seeing something that everyone else was. Luca and Sara's mouths were gaped to answer your question when you all turned your heads towards Asher, who scoffed. He rolled his eyes and took a sip of his whiskey.
You saw the way Luca gave him a murderous stare before turning to you and said, “Just be careful, hun. He’s an actor after all, but we’re happy for you.”
You knew how your friends felt about Aaron. You knew they were hesitant, but you also knew that they only wanted to make you happy, so they were trying to be supportive. One of them, however, had been slowly getting on your nerves. Ignoring what Luca said, you felt anger boiling inside of you. Asher was looking out the window, his face all scrunched up like he just wanted to throw something at someone.
“What the fuck is your problem lately?” You turned to face him, your voice snapping in anger.
You saw from the corner of your eyes how Luca, Ivy, and Sara had looked at you with wide eyes, their eyebrows shooting up to their forehead. You never snap like this. The last time you did was when you were a teenager, and your parents kept arguing with you about the career path you needed to go to. Although, that wasn’t something you wanted to look back on right now.
“Really? ATJ?” Asher replied, his voice sounding like he wanted to vomit Aaron’s name.
“What about him? What’s your problem?” You asked, gritting your teeth.
Asher shook his head, drowning down the rest of his drink. He looked out the window and rolled his teeth over his bottom lip. He looked like he wanted to just say what he had been feeling, but he seemed to stop himself from spitting the words. You heard Luca let out a long sigh and set his drink down a little too hard that it clinked loudly on the wooden table.
“Stop being such a baby, Asher. If you have a problem, just say it.” Luca snapped.
Tension had blanketed the table, and everyone was uncomfortable in their seats. Asher was still silent for a brief moment before he exhaled a sharp breath. He turned to face everyone on the table, his eyes shifting towards every one of your friends before landing directly on you. You could see the smoke that was coming out from his nose and ears, his face was red, and his eyes were glassy. He swallowed all the emotions that were surfacing before he pushed his chair and stood up, grabbing his jacket that was hanging at the back of it.
“I’m not dealing with this,” Asher murmured, slipping on his jacket. “I’m not going to sit here and have you all surround me with stupid accusations.”
He slipped out his wallet from his back pocket, grabbed a couple of twenty-dollar bills and threw it on the table before storming out of the restaurant. Your nostrils flared from anger as you also pushed your chair back and got up. Your friends gazed up at you with worried expressions as you held up your hand.
“Don’t follow me.” You said. “I’ll be right back.”
You ran out of the restaurant, pushed the double doors and found Asher walking down the street. The city was bustling with crowds and cars. The cool air breeze blew through your hair as you tried to catch up to him. He had longer legs than you, but you were able to finally walk up behind him and grab his wrist. You turn him around, trying to catch your breath as you look at him with hurtful, angry eyes.
“What the fuck is your problem?” You exclaimed. “For once, stop ignoring me and talk to me!”
Asher’s nostrils flared, and unshed tears filled his eyes as he said, “You want me to talk? Fine!”
You stood there, your body frozen as you waited for him to say what he needed to say. You felt your heart race as you stared at him, feeling like an eternity had passed. You didn’t want to hurt Asher like this, but you also couldn’t babysit his feelings anymore. You couldn’t stop yourself from being happy with someone because he would get hurt. He needed to move on. He needed to let you go.
“Really? You’re dating him?” He exclaimed, flinging his arm in the air in frustration. “How many more guys are you going to give a chance before you see me? I’ve been trying to give you everything! I’ve been trying to make you happy since we met at CalTech, but it’s always never enough!”
You felt the tears welled up in your eyes as you took a step forward. Asher’s eyes were full of anger, disappointment, and hurt. You didn’t want to break his heart like this. You never wanted to hurt him, but you just couldn’t see him that way. It would be unfair that you couldn’t give him more than what he deserved.
“Asher…” You reached for his arm, but he was quick to pull it away.
“No.” He said, shaking his head. A tear slipped down his cheek as he quickly wiped it away. “You don’t get to do that! I was fine when you were going out with Jack last time because I knew he couldn’t give you everything from the beginning! So maybe, you'll finally see that I’m right for you!”
You let out a soft gasp as Asher grabbed your hand and squeezed it gently, setting it on his chest on top of where his heart was.
“Please give me a chance. Just once.” He cupped your face with his hand, brushing your cheek gently with his thumb.
You looked away, holding in your tears as you slid his hand away from your face. You took a step back, shaking your head.
“I can’t…” You whispered, staring into his eyes. “I don’t feel that way about you, and I don’t want to ruin our friendship with this.”
Asher looked at you, his eyes darkening. “Then have fun spreading your legs in Hollywood. Don’t come crawling back when you finally realize who’s right for you.”
Just like that, he walked away, leaving you speechless in the middle of the sidewalk. His words felt like a bullet in your heart as you felt it slowly die inside your chest. A tear rolled down your cheek, your body was frozen as you watched him turn around the corner and disappear from your sight.
________
Aaron’s house was dark. The lights weren’t on, and the gate was closed. You have been in his house a couple of times before, but you didn’t know if this was a good idea or not. You have been sitting inside your car that was parked on the side of the road for about an hour now. You thought maybe seeing him would make you feel a little better but now, you didn’t know if you should have come here.
Your thoughts were interrupted when you saw Aaron’s car passed by and the gate opened. Immediately, he saw you in his rearview mirror and parked his car. He walked towards your car as you rolled down your window.
“Hi.” You whispered, staring up at him.
Aaron didn’t say anything as he reached over the window and unlocked your door. He took your hand in his and led you inside his house. Aaron didn’t say anything as he kicked off his shoes and led you to his living room. You settled onto his sofa, while he walked into his kitchen. You heard the water running before he came back with a glass of water in his hand.
“How long have you been waiting?” He asked, handing you the glass and kneeling in front of you.
“Not long. I was about to leave.” You took a sip, letting the cold water cool off the rest of your body.
You have been trying to push Asher’s words that were repeatedly echoing in your head. You shed your tears earlier today, and you didn’t need to shed anymore. You kept telling yourself that you didn’t owe him anything, especially because you never led him on since the beginning. You hated the fact that you hurt him, but you needed to set him straight or he could never move on from you. Asher deserved someone who could give him the same love back.
That was just not you.
“You should have called. I would have come sooner.” Aaron took your hand in his and caressed his thumb on the back of your hand. “Is everything okay?”
“Just my friend.” You let out a sharp, long breath. “He was being an ass.”
Aaron reached for your cheek and softly brushed it with his thumb as he cupped your face. You knew he could see the red rims around your eyes from your crying earlier. You were okay now, but you couldn’t lie how much his words hurt you too. Asher was still your friend, after all.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Aaron asked. “We don’t have to if you’re not ready.”
“He’s always been like that.” You shrugged. “Part of it is my fault.”
“If he was your friend, he shouldn’t be treating you like that.”
You squeezed his hand and said, “He liked me since college, and he is having a hard time accepting that I’m dating you.”
You watched as Aaron stared at you, a brief silence between the two of you. You watched as his throat worked as he swallowed whatever he was thinking and feeling. His eyes suddenly dimmed a little bit, a bit of fire burning in his eyes.
“Do you feel something for him?” He asked, his voice low and his jaw ticking.
You couldn’t help but let a small smile tug on your lips, reaching for his cheek and cupping it gently. You pushed his chin up with your thumb, so he could look you in your eyes.
“Never. He’s just a friend. I just hate that I hurt him.” You said. “I had told him that since the beginning, but he can’t seem to accept it and move on.”
“This is not your fault, I hope you know that,” Aaron murmured. “He has to move on if you have told him multiple times that you weren’t interested.”
“I know.” You murmured, brushing the back of your fingers against his jaw, feeling his soft beard.
Aaron’s lips tugged into a soft smile as he melted into your touch. You felt your stomach turned when you heard him sigh in relief. You couldn’t help but smile and leaned in closer, pressing a soft kiss on his lips.
“I love it when you do that.” You murmured.
“Do what?”
“Sigh in relief. Like everything around you just disappears, and you relax.” You pressed another soft kiss on his lips, making him smile.
“It’s because it does when you’re around. You make everything lighter.”
Looking into his ocean-blue eyes, you let your fingers lightly brush the skin of his cheek before kissing him passionately. Aaron let out a small moan as you tugged him to stand up. He moved himself to the sofa without letting go of the kiss, while you straddled his lap and kissed him deeply. You grind your hips slowly against him, making him groan softly and pull away from the kiss.
Breathlessly, he leaned his forehead against yours, closing his eyes like he was in pain.
“Love…” He whispered.
“Hm?” You hummed, trailing your lips on the line of his jaw and down his neck.
You could feel his cock straining against his pants as you continued to pepper some kisses on his neck, your fingers finding the buttons of his shirt.
“Darling,” He said firmly this time, taking your hand in his and pulling away to look at you. “You’re upset.”
“I’m fine.” You murmured, kissing him again.
For a moment, Aaron’s lips moved against yours, his hand sliding around your waist but once your fingers started continuing to unbutton the buttons of his shirt, he let out a small groan again.
“Love,” He whispered, cupping one cheek with his hand. “I don’t want our first time to be like this.”
Slumping your shoulders, you let out a deep sigh and lowered your eyes to his lap. You rolled your teeth on your bottom lip and nodded your head.
“Right, sorry.” Your voice was almost a whisper.
“Hey,” Aaron lifted your chin with his index finger to look into your eyes. “Why don’t we relax for a little, hm?”
A small smile tugged on your lips as you laid your head on his shoulder, nuzzling his neck and inhaling his minty and fresh scent.
“What the fuck did I do to deserve you?” You murmured through his skin.
You could feel him smile as his warm hand slid down your back, rubbing it softly and pulling you close to his chest. You felt warm, safe and protected in his arms, and you never wanted to leave. His warmth engulfed you as he let his fingers softly brush up and down your arm, sending a warm feeling to your stomach.
“You’re amazing, sweetheart.” He whispered, kissing the top of your head. “Don’t forget that.”
You let out a soft hum, your lashes tickling Aaron’s neck as silence blanketed the room for a moment. His soft touch was still gently rubbing your arm, and he could tell by your soft breathing that you were starting to doze off.
“Stay for tonight?” He murmured through your hair.
You nodded your head as he lifted both of you from the sofa. You tangled your arms around his neck as Aaron made his way upstairs, down the hall and into his bedroom. Setting you on the edge of his bed, you ran your fingers through your hair as he opened one of his drawers and grabbed a t-shirt and sweats for you.
“I’ll just go and freshen up. Thank you.” You smiled as Aaron leaned down to kiss your cheek.
Padding down to his bathroom, you set the clothes on top of the counter and stared at yourself in the mirror. Red rims surrounded your eyes from when you cried earlier. You have pushed the thought of Asher after you had let out all your emotions earlier. You reminded yourself again that you didn’t do anything wrong. You reminded yourself that you didn’t owe Asher anything.
Grabbing a fresh toothbrush from under the sink, you brushed your teeth, washed your face with cold water and changed into Aaron’s t-shirt that landed perfectly around your thighs. Opting out the sweats, you opened the bathroom door and found Aaron shirtless and wearing gray sweatpants. His hair was damped from the shower, and he was sitting at the edge of the bed, waiting for you.
You saw the way his breath hitched the moment he saw you standing under the doorway. His eyes traveled from your eyes, down to your body and your bare thighs. His eyes darkened from the view he was looking at as he reached one arm for you. Barefoot, you walked towards him, feeling the cool wooden floors under your feet. The light in his room had dimmed, only the lamp on either side of his bed was illuminating the room.
Your fingers slipped through his hand as he pulled you to him, standing between his legs. He gazed up at you, caressing your cheek with his thumb.
“You’re so beautiful, love.” He whispered.
Your fingers softly brushed his beard as you let your fingers dance across his jaw. Aaron let out a soft breath, closing his eyes and leaning against your touch. Your eyes studied his face carefully. Long lashes, soft beard, and freckles peppered across his skin. He looked so handsome under the warm light of his bedroom. You leaned down and kissed him softly, his lips brushing against yours. He slipped his hands on your waist, pulling you close to him as you tangled and raked your nails through his scalp.
“Aaron, please.” You whispered as he pulled away.
His blue eyes were almost black as he studied the expression on your face. Your fingers brushed his cheek as he let you push him onto the bed and straddled his hips. His hands slipped under his t-shirt that you were wearing, your flushed skin under his touch as he held on to your waist.
“Are you sure?” He asked concern etched on his face.
“Yes.” You answered firmly.
It didn’t take him a second to crash his lips against yours, sliding one of his hands out from under your shirt and sliding it through your hair. You pressed your palms against his hard, bare chest, your tongue brushing on his lower lip. Aaron opened his mouth to grant you access and both of your tongues danced together. You felt the control that Aaron was letting you have tonight as you continued to kiss him deeply, your hands sliding down his bare chest and onto the hills and valleys of his abs.
A soft gasp escaped your lips when Aaron pulled away from the kiss, his lips kissing and sucking the line of your jaw. His tongue slid down your neck as you let out a soft moan the moment he kissed and sucked at the one spot behind your ear.
“You like that?” He whispered breathlessly.
“Yes.” You breathlessly answered, your fingers digging into his broad shoulders.
Aaron continued to suck into the one spot behind your ear and his tongue licking the sore spot before trailing his lips down your neck again. He pulled the hem of your shirt, and you didn’t hesitate to pull it over your head, leaving you there only in your underwear. He sucked in a breath as he pulled back and studied your body. With the way Aaron was looking at you, it made you feel confident. You never felt like this before even when you were with Jack. He always made you feel insecure with your body.
“Jesus Christ, darling,” Aaron whispered. “You’re so hot.”
Heat crept up in your cheeks, making you smile shyly before kissing him again. Aaron flipped the two of you over and hovered over you. His lips found yours again, kissing you deeply and you could feel his hard cock against your thigh. Another soft moan escaped your lips as Aaron kissed across your collarbone, down to the swell of your breast, and sucked on your nipple. His other hand was playing with the other one, pinching and twisting it.
You lifted your hips, grinding up against him, trying to find something to soothe the throbbing ache that was between your legs.
“Easy, love,” Aaron smirked, his brows creating a line between his forehead. “Impatient tonight, are we?”
“Yes.” You kissed the line of his jaw, your hands feeling all his hard muscles in his arms before sliding it between the two of you.
A low groan vibrated from Aaron’s belly as you cupped him through his sweatpants. You bit your bottom lip, failing to hide your smile as you caressed him through the fabric. You watched as he scrunched his face as if he was in pain before grabbing your hand and pinning both of them above your head.
“Tell me what you want,” Aaron whispered, licking and sucking your nipples again.
Your back arched, letting him know that you wanted more as he gazed up at you, letting one of his hands slowly dance around your stomach just right above the waistband of your underwear.
“You.” You gasped. “I want you inside me.”
A smirk plastered on his face again before sliding his hand beneath the fabric of your underwear. You felt his finger rubbing your clit slowly, making you moan loudly.
“You’re so wet for me already.” He said, “Lift your hips for me, darling.” His lips trailed down your stomach as you lifted your hips, and he used his fingers to drag down your underwear.
Soon, the small piece of fabric had joined your clothes on the floor and you were lying naked in front of him.
“Aaron.” You whimpered as he continued to draw circles on your clit.
Taking both of your legs, he set them on his shoulders and kissed your inner thigh slowly to tease you even more. You groan impatiently as you hear him chuckle under your skin. Before you could even moan his name again, a loud gasp came out of your mouth when you felt his warm tongue lick you in one swipe.
“Hm…” He gazed up through his lashes. “So sweet.”
Before you could even comprehend one thought, you felt his tongue lapping on your clit, making you moan his name. Your hands turned into a fist, bunching up the bedsheet under your hands. You couldn't describe the pleasure that was spreading all over your body as Aaron continued to suck and lick your clit. Your back arched, feeling the pleasure on your lower belly, and Aaron must have known that you were close because he did one more lap on your clit before sucking it hard, making your pleasure explode, and making you feel it all the way to your toes.
“Oh.. my god!” You cried out as Aaron smiled, licking you one more time until your waves of orgasm were finished.
Crawling up to you, he kissed you passionately, tasting yourself in his tongue. You reached for his sweatpants and pulled them down, while Aaron helped you and threw them on the floor. You looked down with wide eyes as you saw his cock resting on your stomach.
“Holy shit.” You murmured, taking his cock in your hand and pumping it lightly.
Aaron growled in your ear as he thrust his hips, groaning from the feeling of your hand.
“If you keep doing that, I will come immediately, love.” He said, sucking on that one spot behind your ear again that shot pleasure down your body.
“I need you.” You murmured, rubbing the tip of his cock on your entrance.
“Hold on.” He said, reaching over to his bedside table and pulling out a condom. Sitting up, you took it from him and slid it over his hard cock before he pushed you gently on the bed again.
“I’m all yours, sweetheart.” He murmured as you let him slowly enter you inch by inch.
You buried your face on his shoulder as you felt him slowly fill you, and you could already feel your walls tightening around him. You felt so full until he was seated fully inside of you, feeling your chest heave heavily.
“Are you okay?” Aaron’s voice was low and raspy.
You nodded your head, letting yourself get used to his size for a moment. Slowly, Aaron began to pull out before pushing himself back in again. A groan vibrated through his body as he continued to thrust in and out of you, picking up his pace slowly.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, your heels digging into his back as you whispered, “More.”
“Fuck.” Aaron moaned as he picked up his pace.
You dug your nails on his back as you moaned and whimpered his name, feeling the pleasure at the edge of your spine. You threw your head back on the pillow, beads of sweat covering your forehead as Aaron kissed you deeply. He brushed his tongue on your lower lip before entering your mouth. Both of your tongues tangled together as Aaron continued to thrust deep inside you, hitting the right spot and making your toes curl from the delicious pleasure that was vibrating through your body.
“I’m… close.” You murmured. “Aaron.”
Aaron slipped his hand between you and started rubbing your clit, increasing your pleasure that was building up.
“Oh, fuck!” You screamed, your walls tightening around him.
“Fuck, love. I’m close.” Aaron buried his face on your shoulder and thrust himself deeper, his finger still rubbing your swollen clit.
“Aaron!” You cried out.
Your legs trembled as you pulsated around him, letting your orgasm wash over you before unwrapping your legs from Aaron’s waist. He continued to thrust a few more times until his orgasm took over him.
“Fucckk.” He growled.
Slowing his pace, he gazed down at you and saw your heavy, hazy eyes looking up at him. You gave him a small, tired smile as he gently pressed a soft kiss on your forehead. He slowly pulled out and made his way towards the bathroom. You were so exhausted, that your eyes were already closing when you felt him clean you up.
“You’re amazing, darling.” He murmured, pressing a soft kiss on your temple.
Opening your eyes, you pushed yourself off the bed and went to use the bathroom before the two of you came back to bed. Aaron pulled you close in his arms. Your one arm was wrapped around his torso, while your leg was tangled with his.
His arms felt like a safe place you didn’t know you needed until now. It was the kind of place you just wanted to go to after a long day. He made it seem so easy even if you two had only just started dating for a few weeks.
Everything was just lighter with Aaron.
________
The sunlight peeked through the curtains as Aaron fluttered his eyes open. Aaron had been sleeping in this bed of his for years but somehow, this morning, it felt like he was lying on a cloud. Turning, he found your flushed body next to his. Your hair fanned out all over the pillow, and you were sleeping peacefully.
He couldn't help but smile and softly brushed his fingers against your soft cheek, gentle enough that he didn’t want to wake you. Hearing his phone buzzed on the table, he snapped out of his trance and picked up his phone. He saw his publicist's name, Celeste, on the screen.
Celeste: Care to explain this?
Clicking the link, he saw an article of him on the DeuxMoi website when he had taken you to Griffith for your first date. DeuxMoi was never reliable when it came to celebrity news, so he knew that so far, this was all just a rumor. Sure, there was a picture, but it was the two of you walking together. That was all.
Even though the date and rumor were totally true.
Aaron: I’ll explain when I see you. Please don’t comment on anything yet.
“Hey, are you okay?” He heard your soft, sleepy voice as he set his phone on the bedside table.
“Hey,” Aaron plastered a fake smile. “How are you, love?”
“Amazing.” You smiled, stretching your arms out and sitting up on the bed, pulling the covers close to your chest.
“You look worried.” You murmured, cupping his cheek. “Everything okay?”
“Yes,” Aaron said. “Just some stupid article on the internet.”
You furrowed your brows, tilting your head as you waited for him to explain what he was talking about. Aaron exhaled a deep breath and wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close to his chest. He explained the article and how DeuxMoi was asking if he was dating someone or not.
The gears in your head started shifting as he continued to explain and comfort you that everything was okay, and that he’d handle it with his publicist. You knew this news was going to spread like wildfire, but you were so caught up in your safe bubble that you didn’t realize this was going to blow up in your face sooner than you thought.
How naive.
“I’m not scared to tell the world about you, love,” Aaron reassured you, kissing your temple.
But somehow, your heart couldn't stop racing.

fictober leftovers (㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ)
Steve idles between the X-rated horror and thriller sections for several long minutes until he works up the courage to talk to you. You’re a pretty little thing behind the counter, hand in your palm as you scribble into the journal Keith threatened to confiscate from you earlier that morning.
He’s never been this nervous to talk to you. Things are different now. Post-first date, and Steve’s still toeing that wretched line between friends and something more. The puppy love is so painfully mutual, but it’s equally hard to navigate. He can’t come on too strong — not with someone as soft as you — but he’s still got some King Steve left in him. He’s still learning how to be gentle.
With sweaty hands, he walks up to the counter and tries to be subtle about the whole thing. Stealthy, like a ninja. He leans on his folded-up arms and blurts before he means to, “So you’re, like, totally coming tomorrow, right?”
You lift your chin and blink at him with wide eyes. You hadn’t heard him come over, too busy doodling a bunch of nothingness in your notebook. Your stomach whirls at the sight of him. It takes you a moment too long to answer.
“Coming… where?”
“To the mall,” he reminds, then corrects himself with a shrug. “The one in the city— not the shithole we have here.”
“Oh. Uh, I don’t— I don’t know,” you stammer. Steve invited you earlier that week, and you promised to think about it. You did. And you want so desperately to go, but your brain’s too mean, and it just won’t let you.
The disappointment that flashes on his face is fleeting, but you don’t miss it. The hurt softens his features in an unbearable way. It makes your chest ache.
“C’mon,” Steve presses in a gentle lilt. He leans closer to you, eyes twinkling and lips curling. “It could be fun, you know? I mean, everyone’s gonna be there.”
He’s trying his best to persuade you. He has no idea that that’s exactly what’s keeping you from going. Crowds are always stress-inducing, even those of the familiar kind.
“Everyone as in…?”
“Robin, obviously. Dustin, too,” Steve answers, counting on his fingers as he goes. “Max is coming, but Lucas has a basketball thing, so he can’t. And the rest of the little shits are in California, so that’s definitely a plus.”
It’s a dumb joke, but it makes you laugh anyway — a quiet giggle of a thing that makes him grin.
“Uh… Eddie’s coming, too, I think— but don’t let that dissuade you, alright? I promise I’ll protect you from that freak. You don’t have to worry about him.”
You smile because you know he’s joking. You’ve met Eddie a couple times now. He’s always been really sweet to you. Him and Steve just have a strange complex that forces them to be assholes to each other.
“And also, I’m gonna be there. Obviously. So…” he trails off with a wavering smile. So if you don’t wanna come for them, maybe you can come for me, is what he’s really trying to tell you.
“I don’t know,” you repeat, quieter now as you shrink into yourself. You try and fail to meet Steve’s honeyed gaze. “I just feel like I’ll make everything all weird.”
His bushy brows pinch, almost in offense that you’d think you’re anything less than totally perfect. “Why would you think that?”
“‘Cause… I don’t know,” you murmur in a quiet sigh. You don’t want to lie to him, but telling the truth feels so much harder. “They don’t really know me, you know? And I feel like… like I’ll just ruin everything if I’m there…”
It takes Steve a couple of seconds to answer you. He doesn’t know how you could say something that — like you don’t light up every room you’re in. “Well, that’s… that’s just not true,” he argues with a shrug. “They like you. They love you, actually— they just wanna get to know you. And the only way they’re gonna get to know you is if you come hang out every once in a while.”
Your heart flutters. You want to believe him. It’s hard for you to comprehend that anyone could care so much about your presence, so you just nod and don’t say anything further.
Steve is quick to comfort you, almost like he can read your mind. “But if you think it’s gonna be too much, you could always just stick with me. I’ll fend off the freaks for you, no problem.”
His cinnamon eyes glimmer with honey. He looks at you far too fondly to say no.
—————
There’s six of you crammed into Steve’s 733i. It’s already a tight fit, but it’s more suffocating when it’s full of a million different conversations. Almost all of them are pointed your way. Steve tries to bat everyone off of you, but it’s hard to yell at everyone and drive at the same time.
You’re being a pretty good sport about it despite how anxiously helpless you feel.
You wring your clammy hands in your lap and try to regulate your bated breaths, nodding to whatever Max is telling you. It’s hard to hear her because Eddie’s talking to you, too. You’re too scared he’ll think you’re mean if you stop him.
You watch Robin reach for the radio, complaining about all the yelling as she turns up the volume. The cheesy pop song is all you can hear. The conversations around you become a monotone buzzing. You feel like you could just about explode.
“Jesus, you guys are acting like you’ve never seen another person before,” Steve shouts over it all, the only definite thing you can understand. “Let her breathe before she thinks we’re all a bunch of lunatics, alright?”
He’s met with a bunch of muffled complaints, but the noise quietens nonetheless.
Steve glances at you in the rearview, a quick check to make sure you’re still okay. You catch him doing it and try your best to give him a smile. It looks more like a wince.
“Well, it’s your fault for finally bringing someone cool around,” Max argues with all her practiced teenaged ambiguity. “I have to spend all day surrounded by freaks— at least now there’s someone halfway normal to talk to.”
“I’m normal!” Steve insists, face twisted in offense.
“You’re a jock.”
“Hey. C’mon, Red,” Eddie scolds, so obviously playful. “Let’s not go throwing the j-word around—”
The brunette boy huffs. “Thank you!”
“—Jock would imply that Steve’s still cool,” the wild-haired boy continues. “Which he isn’t.”
Poorly hidden laughter fills the small car. Steve nods and mutters beneath it all, “Yeah. Okay. Thanks for the clarification, Munson.”
He glances at you again and finds you cracking a halfway sincere smile. He shoots you a light-hearted glare. “Don’t laugh! You’re just encouraging him!”
“Sorry,” you apologize, hiding your giggle behind your fist. “’M sorry.”
Steve smiles at you, silently tells you he doesn’t really mean it. He’d let Musnon make fun of him all day if he thought it meant he’d get to hear you laugh like that again.
—————
You take your first good breath in an hour when you step out of the car.
Steve shuts it off and gravitates towards you on instinct. His honey eyes are wide as they dart across your flustered features. You see his hands reach towards you, to grab your elbows maybe, but he decides against it.
“You okay?”
“Yeah,” you nod, quicker than you mean to. “I’m good.”
“Okay. I’m sorry. I really tried to—”
“I know,” you cut him off with a sweet, still quiet smile. “It’s still okay.”
He sighs heavy, like a deep breath of relief. “Okay. Good,” he hums, almost to himself, nodding with a pink grin you could stare at all day. He would’ve let you, but neither of you get the chance.
Your friends start messing around, and the chaos melts into the buzzing crowd surrounding you, and you realize the two of you aren’t the only people on earth. Bummer.
You gather around the large map at the entrance of the bustling mall. “Where should we go first?” Dustin chirps from the front of the crowd. His eyes are as wide as his smile. “Game Player? Sam Goody? Oh, look— they have a RadioShack! I’ve been looking for a new supercomm. It’s on the other side of the building, though, but we can just work our way around, I guess—”
“Jesus, Dusty-Bun,” Robin interjects with a gritty laugh. She stands on the outside of the group, arms crossed over her chest, effortlessly too cool for it all. “Take a breath, buddy.”
“Don’t call me that!” the boy gripes over his right shoulder.
Steve shrugs. “Go wherever you want to. I don’t care.”
Dustin looks to his left, shooting the older boy a glare. “Aren’t you supposed to be the babysitter?”
“You’re fourteen!”
“Well, what if I get kidnapped?”
“No one’s kidnapping you, alright? Trust me,” Steve jokes, only smiling when he sees you trying to hide yours. He puts his hands on his waist and cocks his hip to the side. “They’ll send you right back where you came from. You have nothing to worry about.”
Dustin squints. “Rude.”
“We’ll just meet back at the food court in, like, two hours. And if you don’t get yourself killed, you’ll be fine,” Steve reasons with a nonchalant shrug and a jutted-out lip.
“Oh. Wow. Thanks, Steve. What would I ever do without you?”
He rolls his cinnamon eyes at the boy’s monotone. “Alright, smartass.”
When the rest of the group dissipates, he leans over to nudge your shoulder. It knocks you from your stupor — so deep in your own head you were practically drowning. You blink at him with wide, glassy eyes. “Hm?”
“Do you wanna go anywhere?” he asks with a wavering smile. His laugh is equally forced. “You’re kinda staring a hole into the map there…”
“Oh. No. I was just…” you trail off with a shake of your head. You’re not entirely sure what to tell him, how to make him understand your easily overstimulated mind. “I was just distracted. Sorry.”
“It’s okay. No big deal.”
“Where did everyone else go?” you wonder with a furrow to your brow, noticing the lack of familiar chaos around you.
“Eddie and Dustin went to some movie store, and I think Robin and Max are on the hunt for cassettes.”
“Okay...” you nod with a tremble in your voice.
You’re still not totally used to being alone with Steve. Your friends are usually good distractions. They fill your awkward silences with something funnier and talk loud when you get too quiet. When they’re not around it’s just… awkward silences and quiet air.
You get too in your own head, so eager to impress the pretty boy beside you, that you end up putting your foot in your mouth.
Steve doesn’t seem nearly as apprehensive. Instead, he’s beaming at the fact that he’s finally got you alone. He doesn’t have to worry about quieting Dustin when he gets too loud or shoving Eddie away when he forgets what personal space is. It’s quieter with just the two of you — warmer, cozier, easier.
“Wanna go down to the food court?” he wonders, honey eyes sparkling when he looks your way. “I know you haven’t eaten anything yet, so…”
Your eyes narrow, accusing and playful. “How would you know that?”
“Uh, ‘cause I know you,” the boy scoffs like it’s obvious. “I basically have to force you to eat every morning.”
“That’s not true!”
“It so is!” Steve giggles and it’s heaven to your ears, the exact sound of honey. “That’s why I hate not opening with you. ‘Cause if I’m not around to force you to eat the other half of my Poptart, I’m just, like, worrying if you’re withering away or not.”
Your face burns hot. Your heart swells with a similar warmth that borders on painful. You didn’t think he cared so much about you — or that he ever thought about you outside of work or the occasional hangout.
“Fine,” you concede with your arms crossed over your chest, trying not to seem as flustered as you feel. “Let’s go to the food court.”
Steve grins. He follows you in stride when you start to head that way. “Cool. We can go get one of those disgustingly good burgers or something.”
“For breakfast?” you wonder with a light-hearted laugh.
“Yeah! Like, one of those crazy huge ones, you know? The patties are, like, the size of your fist— make a fist.”
You do. You ball your fingers and hold them up between you. Steve holds onto your wrist for further inspection, fingers long and warm and soft. You swallow.
“Bigger than your fist,” he corrects with a laugh. The sweet sound is drowned out by the swell of yelling teenagers. They talk so loudly and over one another that their conversations become a meaningless drones.
Two in particular shove at one another, laughing loud like it’s fun. One of them almost barrels into you — long blonde hair, tight shirt, tighter jeans, and cologne so potent it stings your nose. He just narrowly misses you, mostly because Steve’s there to yank you out of the way.
The boy’s gentle grip on you tightens. He pulls you close until you’re stumbling into his side. With a strong arm wrapped around you, he shouts at the roughhousing teens — “Watch where you’re going, assholes!”
The scrawny boys walk on ahead of you. They seem apologetic, halfway scared at first. When they realize Steve’s not rushing to beat their asses, they chuckle about the whole thing and keep punching each other.
You’re still frozen in shock — not so much of fear anymore, but of how tightly Steve’s holding onto you. It’s an embrace of the firmer kind, a touch so solid you feel immediately safer inside it. You don’t think you’ve ever been this close before. The teenage girl in your heart starts to spin.
“You okay?” Steve asks when the anger ebbs.
“Yeah,” you nod, swallowing tightly and forcing an awkward laugh. “You don’t have to keep asking me that, you know?”
He nods rapidly, then notices how close he’s holding you. Fearful that he’s made you uncomfortable, he uncurls his arm from around you and takes a small step back. “No, I know! I just wanna— I just wanna make sure, you know? ‘Cause I know you don’t like… all this.”
He waves his hands vaguely out beside him.
You’re immediately cold without him holding you. You wrap your arms around yourself to compensate for the lack of him.
“Yeah, but… It’s not the rest of the world’s fault that I’m scared of everything,” you say with another forced laugh, shifting your weight on your feet. If you could melt into your oversized sweater, you would. “It’s mine. So I can deal with it. I have to deal with it.”
Steve nods, slower this time and with a silent sense of understanding. He steps closer to you and shrugs. “I think the least I can do is make it a little easier on you… And I feel like I’ve been doing the exact opposite of that all day.”
“That’s not true,” you argue with the shake of your head.
His chocolate eyes widen. You’re rarely so assertive. “No?”
“No,” you answer, softer this time as you grow sheepish all over again. Your unsure gaze darts from your dirty sneakers to his twinkling eyes until it makes you dizzy. “You’re actually making it more bearable for me, so…”
“Oh. Okay. Good,” he nods with a smile, breathless because his chest is swelling with pride. He knows the world can be a little much for someone as soft as you. It’s good to know that he’s the exception to all that.
He gets lost in the way you look at him for a moment too long. He clears his throat and stammers, “Uh, do you still wanna go get food?” he asks, pointing off beside him. “We can find somewhere quiet to eat so we don’t have to deal with teenage douchebags the entire time.”
Your heart lurches into your throat. It’s practically your love language — spending time alone in a quiet space, with no overt need for conversation or people to fill the void.
You nod, trying and failing to hide the beam on your face. “Yeah. That’d be nice.”
—————
The quiet place in question is a photo booth on the halfway vacant, furthest end of the mall. Closed curtains, small spaces, and entwined breaths. It smells like his deep cologne, your perfume, and a freshly cooked meal. It’s too easy to forget that there’s a whole world outside of here.
You sit twisted on the bench, facing Steve with your burger trays in front of you. You pluck salty fries from the plate with a trembling hand, distantly fearful that you’re not supposed to be eating here. You think being so close to Steve is worth the risk.
“Is this the day you were expecting to have?” Steve asks with a lopsided grin. He takes a big bite of his burger right after and gets mustard on the corner of his mouth.
“No,” you answer, giggling as he swipes the stain away with his tongue. “But not because it’s bad.”
“Hm?” he hums to egg you on. He’s got too much of a mouthful for anything else.
“Mm-mm,” you shake your head, equally nonverbal as you chew on a handful of fry crumbs. You swipe your palms together to dispel the grains of salt. “I’m having more fun than I thought I would, actually.”
Steve scoffs in disbelief. “Spending time with me? Alone in a photo booth? That’s a good time to you?”
His tone makes you self-conscious. You feel a little shameful, like a child, because you don’t need much to be entertained. You get all warm with embarrassment, too. Being alone with Steve has always felt like climbing mountains — something short of an adrenaline rush that makes you think you could conquer the world. Maybe you’re too small in comparison to do the same for him.
“Yeah,” you shrug in an inaudible murmur. “I don’t know— I just… I like spending time with you, you know? I don’t really care what we’re doing.”
Steve’s chest swells. From a girl who too often keeps to herself, inherently nervous and incessantly frightened of being a burden, it’s more of a proclamation of love than he ever thought he’d get from you.
“Well, I’m glad we’re on the same page,” he confesses with a crooked pink grin, internally praying his cheeks aren’t as red hot as they feel.
He holds his half-eaten burger out towards you. You knock yours with his, clinking them together like champagne glasses. He takes another too big bite. You go to do the same but get a whiff of the sleeve of your sweater before you can.
“God, I smell like a teenage boy,” you groan, only half-playful. The nose-burning musk from the kid from before has seemingly stuck itself onto you. Like fruit and sage and wood and vanilla, every scent ever made combined.
“I wasn’t gonna say anything, but you definitely smell like bodyspray,” Steve affirms, scruffy cheeks jutted out from the burger in his mouth.
“I think I’ve been tainted,” you giggle, a quieter sound compared to his boyish laughter. “Thanks for saving me, by the way.”
You’re saying it to be nice, but you watch him get all shy about it when you take a bite of your sandwich. He shifts on the bench, like he suddenly can’t get comfortable. When he rubs his palms on his thighs, you can’t tell if it’s because of the salty fries or because they’re clammy.
“Yeah— I didn’t mean to— I didn’t mean to grab you like that,” he stammers with an apologetic twinkle in his eye and a gaze that can’t quite meet yours. “Just so you know. I was just trying to—”
“Save me?” you interject.
Steve smiles when he sees how softly you’re looking at him. He shrugs. “Well, I was gonna say ‘pull you from the line of fire,’ but sure.”
“It’s okay,” you repeat for perhaps the thousandth time that day. “I didn’t mind. It felt nice, actually— you have really warm hands.”
“That’s ‘cause yours are always ice cold.”
“Well, maybe that’s because you’re not holding them,” you blurt before you mean to.
You freeze mid-bite, eyes wide in distant horror as your blood runs cold. In a desperate attempt to break away from the awkwardness you caused, you muster a trembling smile. “I’m kidding,” you murmur, halfway hidden behind your burger.
You weren’t.
Steve knows this, too, so he smiles.
He’d been thinking about it all day, in truth — how he was gonna get to hold your hand without having to stick his foot in his mouth to ask you. Turns out, a series of unfortunate events and an impromptu date in a photo booth was all it took. And he’s grateful. For all of it.
“No, you weren’t,” he teases, fingers as warm as his smile when he wraps them around yours. He holds gently onto your hand — even though it makes eating a little harder, even though your fingers are cold, even though you tremble.

Kermity Da Frog: Here ya go Bud! To the others his 20 Years Old
Pico x Small Grumpy Reader!
Look he doesn't care if your grumpy it's actually cute for him that's why he calls you "Shortie" everyday
He would tease you to no end and would continue to tease you every chance he gets
Although if someone else teases you he will end them in just a second
Keith and Grace calls you two the "Demon Couple" because despite always fighting you two still finds a way to get back together and have "FUN" aggressively
Both You and Pico would start robbing everyone you two met and even mug the person who mugs both of you or one of you
But despite the Hard shell you both have your days of vulnerability and would comfort and be there for eachother if the time needs it
The way to you two tease eachother would look like as if you two are wrestling LITERALLY with blood and all and it concerns Keith and Grace to another level
Since your small Pico tends to put everything up high where you can't reach it just so you could go and ask for his help and what you meant help is to kick his balls and stand on his back for him to be your boost
Despite being small you get to hide at places no one can you see that's why whenever you piss Pico off he has a hard time looking for you either up high or down low which actually helps him be more alert actually in real cases

***
Your Saturday started out like any normal Saturday. Steve peppered soft kisses to your skin as you woke up from your comfortable slumber wrapped in his arms. You ate breakfast together and got ready before picking up Robin and making your way to Family Video. It had taken a significant amount of convincing to get Keith to let the three of you work together, considering there was really only enough work for two people to do, but he finally agreed to it since, in his own words, “Steve barely even counts.”
You all were reorganizing the shelves as Robin recounted her conversation with Vickie at the basketball game the night prior. “Then Vickie laughed. And it wasn’t like a cheap fake laugh either. It was like…it was a real, genuine laugh!”
“Of course she laughed, Rob. It’s my muppet joke. It’s hilarious,” Steve replied as he restocked the horror section. You rolled your eyes from your perch on the counter, glaring up at him as you stopped sorting out the returned movies.
“My point is that Vickie laughed, and everything was just like…it was perfect! But I’m having this problem where it’s like, I should stop talking. I have said everything I need to say, but then I guess I get nervous and the words keep spilling out, and it’s like my-my brain is moving faster than my mouth or…or rather my-my mouth is moving faster than my brain, and…and it’s like I’m digging this hole for myself, and I want to stop digging and I’m trying to stop digging, but I can’t, and I’m doing it right now, aren’t I?”
“Yeah, you are,” you responded, looking at her with a great deal of sympathy. You knew how she was feeling. You couldn’t even count the amount of times that you had rambled on and on to Steve about something so completely and utterly stupid because you didn’t know when to stop.
“Ugh, I’m hopeless,” Robin backed up against the wall, throwing her head back in exasperation.
“Robin! Don’t say that; you are not hopeless,” you scolded your best friend, “I mean, look. I was completely and utterly hopeless before Steve and I started dating…like if he hadn’t shown up and the planets hadn’t aligned, I’d be single as fuck right now, but everything that the two of us have, started with us just being friends. So, the fact that you’re talking to Vickie and she clearly at least likes you in that capacity is a really damn good sign.”
“I wouldn’t say you would be hopeless, I mean, guys are pretty much throwing themselves at you,” Steve mumbled under his breath, thinking back to how you had interacted with Eddie the night before. You had seemed so comfortable with him and he hated to admit it, but the two of you looked like you belonged together far more than you did with him. Eddie marched to the beat of his own drum. He dressed different, he acted different, he didn’t go with the crowd or hop on the bandwagon. You were exactly the same. Sometimes Steve worried that you would wake up and realize that he was way too stereotypical and boring for you and that you would leave him. He pushed the thought aside as you spoke up.
“What do you mean?” Before Steve could answer, Robin began rushing across the room.
“Oh! I think I found our morning movie!” She held up a copy of Doctor Zhivago.
“Ugh, you know I don’t do double VHS,” Steve groaned, shaking his head as he walked past the counter towards her. You stopped him, smacking him in the chest before he could try and take the tape away from Robin before you spoke up.
“We’d actually love to watch it Robin,” you smiled, your eyes still glaring at Steve. Robin jumped up and down a little bit before turning on the television to get it set up, but all of you paused when the news came on.
“We’re in the Forest Hills trailer park in east Roane County. We don’t have a lot of details now, but we can confirm that the body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not yet released the victim’s name…” the reported stated, detailing all the information that was known and released.
“Holy shit,” Steve whispered, his and Robin’s eyes transfixed on the screen. His voice sounded far away as your vision blurred with tears. You could barely breathe as you thought about the only two Hawkins High students you knew that lived there: Max and Eddie. If it was either of them, you weren’t sure what you would do. You weren’t sure how you would be able to live and move on.
You stumbled backwards, and you knocked over a pile of VHS tapes as you blindly grabbed for the edge of the counter, beginning to hyperventilate. Robin and Steve snapped out of the trance the news had put them in, as Steve’s head whipped around towards you just in time as you collapsed to the floor.
“Robin turn that off!” Steve yelled, and she grabbed for the remote, quickly silencing the news. You were in a heap on the floor sobbing, barely able to hear Steve as he quickly sat with you on the floor, rubbing big circles across your back to try and calm you down. “Shhhh, y/n. I’m right here, okay baby….I’m right here with you and I’m not going to go anywhere,” he whispered into your ear, kissing your temple as you cried.
After a while, you finally found the will to calm yourself down, and you had been the one to turn the TV back on. You wanted to know as much as you could. You wanted as much information as possible to rule out the possibility that it was either of your friends. Really the only additional information you got was that it was definitely murder and that the police hadn’t released the names of any suspects, which was a whole lot of nothing to go off of.
You were biting your nails, staring at the screen with furrowed brows, when suddenly the chime of the bell above the door rang out into the otherwise empty store. You jumped, turning around to see Dustin followed by Max Mayfield herself.
“Max!” You shouted as you hopped over the counter and pulled her into a bone crushing hug. She groaned, not expecting the sudden demonstration of how much you cared before she reciprocated.
“Hello to you too, I guess?”
“I’m just so glad you’re okay,” you breathed out, feeling a sense of relief flood your body, knowing that Max wasn’t the unnamed victim from the news. Max was struck by your words, not really even considering the fact that some of her friends may be led to believe that she had been killed based on the location of the murder.
“Are you guys seeing this?” Steve chimed in, pointing to the TV screen in the back corner of the room.
“How many phones do you have?” Dustin asked suddenly. You looked at him with confusion plastered across your face.
“Someone was just murdered,” Steve replied, annoyed that the boy could be asking about phones at a time like this.
Dustin just slammed his hands on the counter in response, causing you to jump again in your anxious state, before he repeated himself. “How many phones do you have?”
“Two…why?” You spoke up, furrowing your brow.
“Technically three, if you count Keith’s in the back,” Robin corrected you, a similar look flashing across her face.
“Three works,” Max spoke up, looking at Dustin. Dustin paused, looking at Steve and Robin behind the counter before throwing his backpack across and hopping it. You and Max were civilized, walking around the counter to join them while Steve protested.
“My tapes! Dude! What are you doing, man?!” Steve groaned. Dustin had a special talent for making things significantly more difficult for Steve…especially at his place of work.
“Setting up base of operations,” Dustin replied, typing into the computer.
You attempted to shove him to the side, away from your computer, but he swatted your hands away. You glared at him with the might of a thousand suns before hip checking him, causing him to stumble to the side. “What the fuck do you guys need our computer for?”
“To look up Eddie’s friends’ phone numbers,” Dustin retorted as if it was obvious.
“Oh Eddie, your new best friend you think is cooler than me because he plays your nerdy game,” Steve grumbled back, but you were only half paying attention as you made eye contact with Max. Clearly the two kids knew something that you didn’t and you were worried what that meant in conjunction with the shit you were hearing on the news.
“I never said that!” Dustin looked at Steve, and you rolled your eyes.
“Seriously, you guys, maybe on a Monday you can play around, but it’s Saturday. It’s our busiest day,” Robin spoke up, reorganizing the shit that Dustin had knocked off the counter.
“Robin, I totally empathize but this cannot wait,” Dustin sighed as he started writing on a clipboard.
“What because calling all of Eddie’s friends is an emergency?”
“Exactly!”
“Do you want me to strangle him or do you want to?” Steve asked you. The chuckle he was about to let out died in his throat when he saw the look on your face.
“I really think we should hear them out,” your voice was small when you replied. You all looked over at Max and she took a deep breath before she began talking.
“The victim…it’s Chrissy Cunningham,” she started, “I saw her body this morning when the police were leaving. The thing is, I saw her go in Eddie’s trailer and shortly after, my TV started going nuts and the lights started flickering like crazy, which isn’t really super out of the ordinary, my electricity is shit….but then I heard screaming and looked out the window and I saw Eddie leave and—and he looked scared. Like really scared.”
Steve reached for your hand, interlocking his fingers with yours before he spoke up. “So…Eddie killed Chrissy?”
“Steve! No, he fucking didn’t. That’s why we need the phones so that we can find out where he is so that we can prove that he’s innocent,” Dustin glared at your boyfriend, shoving him a bit.
“Just calm down,” you interjected, standing in between the boys. This was all a lot to unpack and you weren’t going to solve anything if they couldn’t stop bickering. When they both grumbled and crossed their arms, you moved around the counter, swiftly moving to the door and flipping the sign to indicate that the store was closed. “Just, you guys can use the phones, okay? But that’s it. We don’t do anything else until we have something solid to go off of. Do you understand?” You looked between Max and Dustin.
They both began to nod and you shook your head. “No, I need to hear you say it. I’m serious, someone was just killed and we are not putting our lives in jeopardy without some serious cause, okay?”
“Yes, we understand,” Max responded. Dustin spoke up in agreement, and you paused to look at them one more time before turning around.
“I’ll get Keith’s phone from the back. You all start making calls.”
You swiftly headed to the back, grabbing the third phone. You were turning around to leave when you about nearly jumped out of your skin, when you were met face to face with your boyfriend.
“Steve! You scared the shit out of me! Don’t fucking do that!” You put a hand on your chest as you tried to catch your breath.
“Y/n, I don’t have a good feeling about this. I mean, the most likely scenario is that Eddie killed that poor girl and now we’re actively trying to find him. He could be fucking dangerous, and I don’t want anything to happen to you, okay? So, let’s just stop all this bullshit before it’s too late,” he grabbed your hands, rubbing his thumbs along the backs of them as he looked you in the eyes. His brow was furrowed with worry, and you felt a pang in your chest. You knew you had to see this through, if not for Eddie, then for Dustin.
“Steve, I know Eddie. He wouldn’t do something like this. Trust me,” you told Steve, looking him in the eyes with so much conviction that he decided to let it go for now.
You brought the phone out and Hawkins’ Family Video soon became a bustling call center as you all took turns trying to get ahold of anyone who may possibly know where Eddie was. Name after name after name got crossed off your list as you found no answers, and you were beginning to feel hopeless when Max spoke up.
“Hey guys, I might have a lead,” she started, “apparently, Eddie gets drugs from some guy named Reefer Rick, and sometimes Eddie crashes there.”
“Alright, that sounds promising. So where does this Reefer Rick guy live?” Robin asked.
“See, that’s the thing. No one knows. He’s more of a…legend than someone that people actually know.”
“What about a last name?” You spoke up, attempting to find any additional piece of information that you could follow to find Eddie.
“I don’t know that either.”
“I bet the cops know the last name,” Steve spoke up. He hadn’t been super helpful in calling around, instead choosing to reorganize the store and do some light cleaning. He was reorganizing some tapes with his back to you all and he had said it so nonchalantly.
“What?” You questioned him, irritation settling in your tone.
“I said the cops probably know,” he shot back, “I mean, listen, if this Reefer Rick is actually a drug dealer, I guarantee you he’s been busted at some point. Means he’s in the system.”
“The cops? Really, Steve? That’s your suggestion?” Dustin asked incredulously.
“I just think at this point they should be filled in on what we know; what’s going on.”
“You think Eddie’s guilty, don’t you?” Dustin stepped forward, but you placed a gentle hand on his shoulder to settle him. You could hear the hurt in his voice and you wished that Steve hadn’t been the one to cause it, but then again, tensions were high with everything that was going on; like the implications of Max’s account of her electricity going haywire around the time that Chrissy would have died.
“Woah, woah, woah, I believe in innocent until proven guilty and all that constitutional shit…I just, you know….I just don’t think we can rule it out,” Steve spoke up, avoiding making eye contact with any of you as he messed with a Rubik’s cube on the counter.
“Steve!” You scolded him. Why can’t he just take a leap of faith and believe you guys?
“That’s precisely what we’re trying to do here, Steve,” Max spoke up, glaring at the boy.
“And maybe we’d have a little bit more luck if you spent less time reorganizing shit that doesn’t need reorganizing and more time trying to find Eddie,” Dustin chimed in.
“Hey, someone’s gotta make sure things are in order here. Do you see how many fucking movies we have? It can be overwhelming for the average customer,” Steve tried to defend himself.
Suddenly an idea popped into your head, as you darted over to the computer, typing away into the system. “What are you doing?” Max asked.
“Maybe we don’t need a last name,” you started as you pressed enter on the keyboard. “Twelve Ricks already have accounts here…now it’s just a matter of narrowing it down.”
***
After determining the Rick most likely to be the Reefer Rick, you waited until it got dark to go scope the place out. You decided that you’d be more inconspicuous at night, not wanting to draw any attention to yourselves while you tracked down a potential murder suspect.
You were all piled in Steve’s BMW as he pulled into the driveway of one Rick Lipton. You felt nerves settle in your stomach as you tried to take a deep breath, Dustin quickly getting out of the car and ringing the doorbell. No one answered and after Dustin pressed the button repeatedly, Steve put a hand on his shoulder to pull him away from the door.
“Okay. Well, that’s settled, I guess he’s not here,” Steve spoke up. This did nothing to stop Dustin from continuing to pound on the door, yelling for the boy to answer. So much for being inconspicuous, you thought as you walked around the side of the house. Your hands trembled a bit, being a tad anxious about being out here at night, when your flashlight finally caught sight of a boathouse on the lake.
“Hey guys?” You called out. Steve was quick to join you, followed by the rest of the gang as you cautiously approached the metal lined shed. There was no real signs of life in there as you entered, and it seemed just as abandoned as Rick’s house. “Hello? Is anyone home?” You shouted into the darkness as you took a hesitant step inside.
“What a dump,” Steve muttered, taking in the sight of all of the clutter. In his mind, there was no way in hell that Eddie was here, so though he was taking all of this seriously, he wasn’t too committed to really inspecting the place with great detail.
You grabbed an oar off of the wall, walking over to the small boat docked in the center of the room as you shoved at the tarps with it, not wanting to get close just in case something was awry.
“What are you doing?!” Dustin whisper-shouted at you, perplexed by your actions.
“He might be in there,” you answered simply.
“Then take the tarp off!”
“If you’re so brave, you take the tarp off!” You whisper-shouted back at him, though when Dustin moved forward to do just that, you and Steve both yanked him back by his shoulders. You continued to poke at the tarp, and Steve placed a gentle but nervous hand on the small of your back, not wanting to stray too far from you.
Max suddenly spoke up from across the room, pointing her flashlight at some odds and ends on a small table. “Hey, guys. Someone was here.”
“Maybe he heard us? Got spooked and ran?” Robin suggested, joining Robin to inspect the items before her.
“Don’t worry. Y/n will get him with her oar…isn’t that right y/n?” Dustin spoke to you sarcastically. You were glad you had the self control to not swing it at the infuriating child beside you as Steve moved away from you to pull Dustin aside. He didn’t need the two of you arguing with each other. You two bickered like siblings and now wasn’t the time for a pseudo-familial spat.
“I know you think you’re being funny, Henderson,” you started, continuing to jab at the tarps, “but considering the fact that everyone in this room has nearly died about a hundred times, personally, I don’t find it funny in the slight—“
Your words were cut off as a figure under the tarp sprung to life, grabbing you around the shoulders and pushing you against the wall. You heard the familiar flick of a pocket knife, feeling the sharp tip of the metal press against your throat. The boathouse erupted into a chorus of shrieks and screams, as you leaned your head back, unable to breathe as you stared wide-eyed at the boy you were tutoring for physics.
“Woah, woah, woah! Eddie! Eddie, stop!” Dustin shouted. He took a step closer and Eddie pushed you back farther into the wall, letting you all know that he wasn’t playing games. Steve felt like his whole world was crashing down around him. To Steve, Eddie’s actions confirmed that he was dangerous, that he had likely killed Chrissy, and that he was about to do the same thing to you. Steve’s mind was working double time trying to figure out how to get you away from the freak, as he started to take a huge step towards you when Robin roughly grabbed his arm, preventing him from getting any closer.
“Robin let go of me!” He shouted at her, trying to shake out of her grip.
“Steve,” she warned, and the way that she said it made him stop to reevaluate the situation, realizing the closer he got to you, the more he was putting your life in peril. A small cry escaped your lips as you tried to blink back tears, and Steve’s heart sank in his chest. He felt his hands trembling at his sides, wanting nothing more than to hold you and to tell you that everything was going to be okay, but watching as the knife threatened to break the skin of your neck, he wasn’t so sure he even believed the sentiment.
“It’s me, Dustin. This is y/n,” Dustin continued, gesturing to you, “she’s not going to hurt you, right, y/n?”
“Right, yeah,” you barely were able to whisper, the muscles in your neck all tensed as you tried to get as far away from the knife as possible. Your chest heaved as you swallowed and breathed out a shaky breath.
“Y/n, why don’t you drop the oar,” Dustin cautioned. You hadn’t even realized you were still holding it, barely even being able to feel the white knuckled grip you had on the handle. You willed your fingers to let go and as the oar crashed to the floor, the sudden sound caused Eddie to jump, leaning in farther and nicking your neck a bit in the process. You yelped in pain, and Steve started to freak out, unable to control his breathing. Robin continued to try and calm him down, but it wasn’t working super well.
“She’s cool, she’s cool!” Dustin reminded Eddie, still trying to talk him off of a cliff. Steve wished he had trusted his intuition earlier and kept you all far away from Eddie the freak Munson.
“I’m cool, man, I’m cool,” you spoke up, your voice shaky, “I’m helping you in Ms. O’Donell’s class, remember?”
“What are you doing here?” Eddie asked, his eyes wild as he refused to let you go.
“We’re looking for you, we’re here to help,” Dustin spoke up, “Eddie, these are my friends. You know Robin, from band. This is my friend Max, the one who never wants to play D&D. And obviously that’s Steve; I know you know him because you hate him, okay? Eddie, we are on your side. I swear on my mother, right guys?” He looked to the three of your friends behind him who all desperately nodded in agreement.
“Yes, yes, we swear!” Robin agree.
“Yeah, on Dustin’s mother,” you squeaked out. Eddie looked at you and you could tell he was acting out of fear. You knew this wasn’t him. That still didn’t quell the fear in your own chest as you spoke up once more to whisper, “please.”
Eddie paused, his eyes searching yours to try and determine your intention. He knew that you were a good person. Hell, you’d been helping him through fucking physics which wasn’t exactly a cake walk. Seeing the terror across your face as you whimpered, however, was what finally broke Eddie, as he finally let you go.
You let out a small cry as the tears you had been attempting to blink back finally spilled down your face while you crumpled to the floor. Steve rushed to your side, sitting on the floor with you, not unlike he had earlier in Family Video when the news came on. Your hand clutched at your neck. Even though Eddie had only just slightly nicked you, your blood had dripped enough to stain the collar of your shirt, and began to seep through your fingers as you held pressure to the cut. It stung like a bitch, but you were more scared than hurt.
“Hey, hey, hey, let me see, okay baby? Can you do that for me?” Steve asked softly, as one of his hands wrapped around the nape of your neck and the other gently tugged on your wrist. You obliged, trembling fingers dropping from your neck as you shook in Steve’s arms.
He used the sleeve of his jacket to put pressure on the cut to attempt to get it to stop bleeding. You took several deep breaths, wiping the tears away from your face as you began to finally calm down. It helped that you knew that Eddie wouldn’t hurt you on purpose. In your mind, he wasn’t a threat in the slightest, just a boy that was scared and needed some comforting.
“Eddie, we just want to talk,” you heard Dustin’s voice ring out in the empty boathouse. Eddie looked like a mess as he sat in a heap on the floor, looking equal parts defeated and terrified. Dustin tried to take the knife away from him, but Eddie tightened his grip so Dustin relented.
“We just want to know what happened,” you breathed out, your voice still shaky as you continued to calm down.
“You won’t believe me,” Eddie sniffled. You moved out of Steve’s grasp despite his protests, putting a gentle hand on Eddie’s shoulder. He tensed up but soon relaxed into your touch.
“Try us,” you replied. Eddie wasn’t sure if it was the look on your face or the sincerity in your voice, but he decided in that moment that he could trust you guys.
He began by explaining that she was at his house so that he could sell to her, discussing how everything had been fine and normal…until it very much wasn’t.
“…her body just, like, lifted up into the air and, uh…and she just, like, hung there. And her bones…uh, she…her bones started to snap. Her eyes, man…it-it was like there was something inside her head pulling,” he whimpered with a faraway look in his eyes, “I…I-I didn’t know what to do, so I…I ran away…I-I left her there,” he scoffed, “you all think I’m crazy, right?”
“No, we don’t think you’re crazy,” Dustin began to assure him, but Eddie quickly cut him off.
“Don’t bullshit me, man! I know how this sounds!”
You moved in between Eddie and Dustin, pushing Dusting behind you protectively. “Hey, we’re not bullshitting you,” you started, your tone leaning on frustrated, “we believe you and we’re probably the only people who fucking will, so I would suggest you find a way to calm down and shut the fuck up because what I’m about to tell you might be difficult to take.”
“Okay,” Eddie finally said. No one was really expecting you to be that blunt about things, but it needed to be said.
“You know how people say Hawkins is…cursed?” You started, trying to find the right words. Eddie nodded. “They’re not…way off. There’s another world; a world hidden beneath Hawkins. Sometimes it bleeds into ours,” your hand subconsciously went to the cut on your neck, the bleeding having finally trickled to a stop.
“Like ghosts and shit?” Eddie asked hesitantly.
“There are some things worse than ghosts,” Max spoke up quietly, and you felt a chill creep up your spine as she said it.
“These monsters from this other world,” Dustin continued, “we thought that they were gone, but they’ve come back before and that’s why we needed to find you.”
“If they’re back again, we need to know,” you emphasized.
“That night, did you see anything?” Robin questioned. You all waited with bated breath for Eddie’s answer. You were afraid of what he might say and Steve stepped forward and grabbed your hand, sensing your anxiety.
“No, man, there was nothing you could see or, uh…touch,” Eddie responded, “you know, I tried to wake her man, but she couldn’t move. It was like she was…she was in a trance or something.”
“Or under a spell…Vecna’s curse,” Dustin whispered.
“Who’s Vecna?” Steve asked, pulling you into his chest. He needed something to hold onto.
“An undead creature of great power,” Dustin answered and you shuddered thinking about it. You had thought you got rid of whatever entity was calling the shots from the Upside Down, but maybe you were wrong.
Maybe everything that had happened before was merely the beginning.
***
You all had taken turns recounting the last two years worth of events to Eddie as he sat there in silence trying to take it all in. After everything that he had seen, he really had no choice but to believe you guys, glad that you were all on his side. You promised the boy that you would be back with supplies in the morning, swiftly piling back into Steve’s car.
“Hey, you know when we had that really sweet convertible and I had you drive it up that big ass hill so we could use my radio?” Dustin suddenly spoke up.
“Yeah?” Steve responded, not quite sure where the boy was going with this.
“Well, bad news is we’re gonna need to go use it again before we all go home because I have an idea, but good news is that it’s at my house now so that’s cool.”
Steve sighed and you all silently made your way to Dustin’s house. There wasn’t much to talk about. You tiptoed through his kitchen to avoid waking his mother as you all crept up to his bedroom. He started messing with all his radio equipment as you sat on his bed. While he was searching for the right frequency, Steve darted out of the bedroom and into the hall bathroom, opening the cabinet under the sink and rifling through it. He found what he was looking for and quietly slipped back into Dustin’s bedroom.
“Here,” he said as he sat down next to you. You looked at him confused until you saw that he had a first aid kit in his hands. He took out an alcohol wipe and started cleaning up the dried blood on your neck. You hissed when the wipe touched your cut, the alcohol burning as he disinfected it. He put some antibiotic ointment on a band aid and placed it gingerly over the cut. He noticed some of the hickies he had left on your neck the night before, quickly moving your hair to make them more inconspicuous. “There. All better.”
You couldn’t help but flush with how sweet Steve was being. Even if the world was undoubtedly ending, at least you knew that he was going to be there for you. You could tell that he was on edge, probably more so given how Eddie had reacted, and you just appreciated that he wasn’t overreacting…yet.
Suddenly, Dustin’s Cerebro came to life, and you heard the distinctive sound of police chatter over the radio as you were clued into what the Hawkins police department knew of Eddie’s involvement in Chrissy’s death. Unfortunately, though not released to the public yet, Eddie was prime suspect number one.
“Shit!” Dustin exclaimed. “Fuck!”
“Woah, woah, whoa, calm down Dustin. We’re gonna figure all of this out okay? Freaking out isn’t going to make any of this shit easier, so we might as well all stay calm,” your voice was remarkably even as you said it and it was starting to freak the rest of your friends out. Of everyone here, you should by all accounts be the most freaked out.
“Look, I don’t think that we should split up, given everything that’s going on,” Steve spoke. “My parents aren’t home, so how about everyone spends the night at my house? You can all call your parents and make arrangements when we get there.”
Everyone agreed with Steve, and you all made your way out to his car, Dustin leaving a note to let his mom know he would be gone before he left. “Y/n? Are you, like, okay?” Max asked hesitantly. Your mind flashed back to what it felt like to have a knife held up to your throat.
“I’m fine, Max. I promise,” you said, but it didn’t sound very convincing. You were honestly more worried about the kids. You thought about the fact that they were deprived a normal childhood, and you couldn’t help but feel guilty about it. You were the babysitter, you were supposed to be the one to make sure that they were okay and safe and happy.
Steve finally pulled into his driveway, leading everyone inside and showing them around. “You all can sleep wherever. There’s a guest bedroom upstairs or you could sleep in the family room. I don’t care,” he sighed, just ready to go to sleep. Everyone got comfortable, Max and Robin choosing to sleep on the couches and Dustin taking the guest bedroom. You and Steve went to his room and you collapsed onto his bed.
“This can’t be happening again,” you spoke up as exhaustion from the day’s events settled in your bones.
“Yeah, I can’t quite believe it either,” Steve said, flopping down on the bed next to you. “Y/n, you have to promise me something okay?”
“What?”
“That if this all gets to be too much again, we call it quits. We get the kids out, we get Robin out, we get the hell out.”
“Steve,” you looked at him, trying to read his expression, “I can’t make that promise.”
“Y/n, everything has been escalating. First it was just one demogorgon, then it was a fuck ton of demo-dogs, then it was Russians and a giant flesh monster…I don’t know how we can handle anything worse, I mean we barely handled everything last summer!” He exclaimed, shaking his head at you. You could tell he was getting more irate, anger seeping into his tone.
“Steve, we either do nothing and die when the whole fucking world ends, or we do something and maybe die trying, or better yet, we fix the fucking problem and never have to worry about it again,” you replied, sitting up, slightly irritated with his tone. He stood up, looking down at you with a furrowed brow as he continued.
“You’re not understanding, y/n. Look, someone died. Unexplainably, just up and died in the most gruesome fucking way. We don’t know anything about how it happened or why or if it will happen again, and I’ll be damned if it happens to one of us, okay. Just promise me.”
“Steve, I can’t, and you know I can’t.”
Steve scoffed, trying to find the right words. He felt anxiety creep up in his chest as he decided that now was as good a time as any to get really fucking real with you. “Y/n. I want a future with you. We can’t fucking have that if one of us is dead.”
“We can’t have a future if the world fucking ends either. I have a massive fucking headache and I just want to go to bed, okay?” You got up and began changing into pajamas, and you heard Steve sigh behind you. He remembered his pinky promise to you in the woods that you were in this together. If you couldn’t make a promise to him, the best he could do was uphold his.
“Fine. But I’m not gonna be able to live with myself if something happens to you,” he warned as he crawled into bed, scooting towards you to spoon you. It was odd how casually you two could have a conversation like this, about the end of the world and the possibility of losing each other at any given moment.
“Nothing is going to happen to me,” you replied, turning in his arms and placing a kiss to his chest. You willed the words to be true as you drifted off to sleep in his arms.
***
Dustin threw the door open to the boathouse and you rolled your eyes, knowing it would likely scare the shit out of Eddie. You seemed to be right as you heard him shout from across the room, finally making it into the shed to see him pressed up against the back wall, knife extended out in front of him.
“Delivery service,” Dustin smiled at his friend. You waved sheepishly at Eddie, hoping that he could find it in his heart to forgive you guys for nearly giving him a heart attack…twice.
You all moved to stand around the boat as Eddie sat down in it, tearing into a box of cereal and eating it as if he hadn’t had a meal in days…which to be fair he probably hadn’t.
“So we have some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?” Dustin cut to the chase.
“Bad news first, always,” Eddie spoke through a mouthful of food. Your nose scrunched up in disgust as you scanned the room, noticing similar expressions painted on Robin and Max’s faces.
“We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with Dustin’s Cerebro, and they’re definitely looking for you,” you quickly spoke up as you gave the boy a sympathetic look.
“Also, they’re uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy,” Dustin chimed in.
“Like, 100% kind of convinced,” Max agreed. You rolled your eyes. So much for breaking the news softly.
“And the good news?”
“Your name hasn’t gone public yet. But if we found out about you, it’s only a matter of time before others do too, and once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother will be gunning for you,” Robin spoke up.
“Hunt the freak, right?” Eddie clarified, his eyes staring off, unfocused.
“Exactly,” Robin breathed out.
“So before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence,” Dustin outlined.
“That’s all, Dustin? That’s all?” Eddie fumed. Sure he loved the Henderson kid, but the boy got on his damn nerves like all the time, and this was one of those moments.
“Believe it or not, we’ve been through this kind of thing before…a few times actually,” you reassured Eddie, hoping that your words would calm his nerves but that was definitely a bit of a stretch.
“You’re telling me that you, Ms. 4.0, have been off fighting monsters while maintaining a perfect GPA?” Eddie asked in disbelief. “Bullshit.”
“I know, it’s pretty impressive,” Steve spoke up, throwing an arm around you, “we usually rely on this girl with super powers but, uh, those went bye-bye.”
“So we’re kind of in more of the brainstorming phase,” Robin spoke up and you all nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, you really have nothing to worry about,” Dustin reassured Eddie, but all of you knew that that was far from the truth. There was definitely a shit ton of stuff to worry about. Before Eddie could ask anymore questions, you all heard sirens wailing in the distance. He quickly covered up with the tarp as you all ran to the window, watching as several emergency vehicles passed right by Reefer Rick’s house.
A sinking feeling settled in your stomach as you concluded that there must be another body. You all raced to Steve’s car again, following the waling sound of sirens, afraid of what you’d find.

Hi, may I please request Reader is Australian and is a judge on the Voice, Australia. Hailee (Steinfeld obviously), with the other judges help to surprise Reader by 'auditioning'. (Reader obviously turns her chair. They've been dating for a couple of years.)
keep on coming back for more [H.Steinfeld]
pairing: hailee steinfeld x musician!reader
summary: you don't really like surprises...unless they involve a certain brunette and your favorite song.
warnings: none, just fluff; me pretending like i know what i'm talking about when i really don't; R is technically a guitar player but that's not expanded upon; like two seconds of nervous hailee
wordcount: 1k
a/n: messed around with the pov on this one again so...yeet. i also did the most scuffed research on the voice, australia so forgive me if it sucks/if things are too vague. this fic was also just an excuse for me to scream into the void about rock bottom because it's one of hailee's best songs, argue with the wall. [but not the version with dnce because...men. do i have to say anything else?] hope you enjoy <3
* * * * * * *
Hailee knows being nervous about this is ridiculous but that doesn’t stop her heart from thundering in her chest or her hands from growing clammy. Usually, those things are a sign of excitement but today, the butterflies in her stomach feel a little more uneasy than usual.
It’s been more than a few years since the last time she performed this song live and, if she’s being completely honest with herself, she’s worried about what you’ll think.
Surprises aren’t her strong suit, especially not when they involve your work but it’s been a few months since you left L.A to start working on The Voice, Australia and she hasn’t had a chance to come see you until now.
She was originally just going to visit you on set and let that be the surprise but she may have texted Rita Ora about her idea to fly to Sidney to see you and then one thing led to another and now she’s here. Minutes away from pretending to be yet another blind audition for the show.
Everyone had agreed it would be a great way to get more people to watch the show, or at the very least the clip that would be posted on YouTube later, but she didn’t care about any of that. She just cared about getting to see your smile again.
“You’re on in five.”
The brunette nods in response, practically counting down the seconds until the two of you are finally reunited. Dramatic, sure, but also sweet in a way that makes you melt every time.
While Hailee’s getting ready for her surprise performance, you are doing your best to act like you’re paying complete attention to whatever ‘argument’ Rita and Jessica are having to convince the most recent auditioner to join their team.
You’ve been a witness to these ‘arguments’ a couple of times since filming started but you always stay out of them. Mainly because they’re fun to watch but also because you’re technically the new kid on the block and you have some massive shoes to fill. Keith Urban-sized shoes to be specific.
You still don’t know how you went from playing the guitar in your room to being a professional musician to being a judge on The Voice but you’re not about to complain. That doesn’t mean the job isn’t tiring but you can’t afford to look like you don’t know what you’re doing.
The young singer ends up choosing Rita’s team and you’re given a quick break as the crew gets everything ready for the next contestant. You resist the urge to check your phone, knowing all it will do is make you miss your girlfriend. This wasn’t the first time the two of you were doing long distance but it never gets easier.
You don’t get the chance to dwell on your thoughts too long since filming resumes. You straighten your back in the surprisingly comfortable chair and prepare yourself for the next blind audition.
A few seconds go by before you hear the beginning notes of a song you know like the back of your hand. The smile on your face gives away your growing excitement at getting to hear someone cover a song you love so much.
You're honestly a little surprised it's taken so long for someone to audition using one of Hailee’s songs. It’s a shock but a welcome one for sure. Just because they're using one of your girlfriend’s songs doesn't mean you'll go easy on them, though. You’re easygoing but extremely picky when you want to be. And you’ll be extra picky just to honor the one you love more than anything else.
“What are we fighting for? Seems like we do it just for fun…”
Your eyes widen at the sound of that voice.
For a second you think you’re imagining things but there’s no possible way you could be wrong. You could be underwater with a bag over your head and still manage to recognize your girlfriend’s voice.
“Breathe deep, bottle it up…”
You don’t waste another second in pressing the red button that allows you to turn around and see Hailee in all her glory. Your breath gets caught in your throat at the sight of her and suddenly, everything else around you disappears. The lights, the audience, even your fellow judges, all you can see and hear is her.
Her brown eyes are trained on you and you have no doubt she’s feeling exactly what you’re feeling. The smile on her face tells you all you need to know about where her mind is. “Oh, we’re on the right side of rock bottom…”
She can’t hold herself back any longer and she takes a few long strides, walking down the stage steps and reaching your chair with a smile so bright it rivals every star you’ve ever seen. Her hand reaches out toward you and you take it without hesitation, allowing her to pull you toward her.
The moment might go viral later but neither of you is focused on anything except the other.
“You’re the best kind of bad something,” she sings, her face mere inches away from yours. “‘Cause we keep on coming back for more.”
This time, you’re the one who can’t hold back. You wait for her to pull her microphone away before you lean in and capture her lips in a kiss filled with all the love you’ve had to keep inside since you left L.A.
You have no doubt the studio probably wanted more words exchanged and overly dramatic shocked expressions but all those complaints will come later. Hell, you’ll even reshoot the whole thing if it means getting to spend time with Hailee on set. But all of that can wait until later.
“Warn a person next time,” you whisper with a grin once the two of you part for air.
“Where’s the fun in that, babe?”
You playfully roll your eyes at her, pretending to be annoyed when you’re truly overjoyed to hear her teasing remarks in person again. “You’re the worst.”
“You love me,” she replies with a shrug.
She starts to move away but you pull her back in for another quick kiss before she can get too far.
You hear the commotion that comes with getting ready for filming to resume but you’re too busy giving Hailee all your attention to care. You’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be here, and you absolutely love your job, but your girlfriend will always come first.

The Lady and the Lord
Chapter 2
Eddie munson x fem!reader
This is a repost since the old blog doesn't work anymore. 🥰
Chapter summary: they have one mission: find Eddie.
Chapter warnings: spoiler season 4, violence description.
"And then Vicki laughed. And it wasn't like a cheap, fake laugh either. It was like... it was a real genuine laugh." Robin tells us as Steve put some vhs on the shelfs and I hold some to help them. I don't work here, but I like to help instead of sitting at home doing nothing.
"Of course. It's my Muppet joke. It's hilarious" Steve says very proudly, and I roll my eyes.
"My point is that Vicki laughed and everything was just like...it was perfect" she keeps going with a dreamy voice.
She's so cute.
"But?" I ask, knowing something's up.
"But I'm having this problem where it's like, I should stop talking." She explains "I have said everything I need to say.but then I guess I get nervous and the words keep spilling out, and it's like my.. my brain is moving faster than my mouth, or rather my.. my mouth is moving faster than my brain. And it's like I'm digging this hole for myself, and I want to stop digging, I'm trying to stop, but I can't. And I'm doing it right now, aren't I?"
She finally turns around to look at us after her babbling.
"Yeah, you are" Steve says and I nod with a half smile.
She exhales deeply and move backwards to rest against the wall.
"I'm hopeless" she says.
Steve follows her against the wall. "We both are"
I roll my eyes at their pessimism.
"If only we could just, like, combine." Robin suddenly says, I look at her confused.
"Combine?" Steve's confused too.
"No. Think about it. I know exactly what I want, and I've found the girl of my dreams, but I can't get the courage to ask her out. Meanwhile, you go on, like, a million dates, and you have no idea what you want. So if we just combine, all our problems would be solved."
Steve lets out an understanding "Oohh"
"Because, I mean, alone let's face it..."
"We totally suck." Steve finishes for her.
"Totally and utterly"
"C'mon, you guys are the most amazing persons that I know... just have hope" I look at Steve "and some courage" I look at Robin "and everything will be fine"
"Oh yeah?" Steve sends me a very sceptical look.
"Ooh, I think I found our morning movie" Robin gasps, running to a shelf and grabbing a vhs. "Doctor Zhivago"
"Ugh, you know I don't do double vhs" Steve groans shaking his hands in the air.
"But it's about doomed love" she tries.
"That's relatable" Steve agrees, and we both follow Robing behind the counter.
"Exactly. Also Julie Christie is b-b-bonkers hot in this. Like seriously the most beautiful creature I've ever seen in my life" she turn the TV on.
"I gotta agree on that" I declare.
"We're in the Forest Hills trailer park on East Roane County." The reporter's voice says loud and clear "we don't have a lot of details now, but we can confirm that the body kd a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not released the name although we are told they're currently in the process of notifying the family"
Oh shit.. as if alternate dimensions creature's weren't enough.
"Holy shit" Steve whispers beside me.
"Who could that be?" I ask worried.
"I don't know.." Robin replies.
"Isn't it where Max lives?" I ask again looking at them.
They just nods.
Oh shit.
We spent the morning watching the news and organising the store to keep ourselves busy.
All of a sudden the door bell rings and Dustin and Max come in.
"Hey Steve" he says, he looks visibly agitated.
"You guys see this?" Steve asks them.
"How many phones do you have?" Dustin asks, completely ignoring Steve's question.
Robin and I share a confused look
"Someone was murdered"
"How many phones fo you have?" He repeats more firmly.
"Two. Why?" He answers
"Technically three if you count Keith's in the back" Robins specifies.
Max and Dustin look at each other.
"Yeah, thee works" Max says.
So Dustin take off his backpack as Steve asks "what are you doing?" And, again, ignoring his question Dustin throw the backpack on the other side of the counter and climbs on top of it to get through.
All this while earning very annoyed reactions from both Robin and Steve.
Ignoring both of them Dustin positions himself in fron of the computer.
"What are you doing?" Steve asks.
"Setting up base of operation here." He simply answers.
"Base of operation?" I ask. "Why?"
Steve tries to get Dustin off of the computer, but with no use.
"What do you need it for? Dustin?" I ask, getting more and more confused.
"Eddie's friends' phone numbers" he answers and I look at Steve.
"Oh Eddie, your new best friend who just is cooler because he plays your nerdy game?" Steve asks, sounding quite jealous, I gotta say.
"I never said that" Dustin defends himself from Steve's accusatory tone.
"Seriously, you guys, maybe know a Monday you can play around like toddlers, but it's Saturday. It's our busiest day" Robin tells them, putting the tapes back on the counter.
"Robin, look, I empathise, but this cannot wait until Monday" Dustin firmly says.
"Calling Eddie's friends is an emergency?" She asks back.
"Correct" Dustin shouts, like that was the most obvious thing.
"Why? What happened?" I ask, now getting more worried. "Did something happen to Eddie?... Dustin?"
"Can you just fill them in while I do this?" Dustin asks Max.
"Fill us in on what?" Robin is definitely annoyed.
We all look at Max waiting for her to explain what happened.
We found ourselves calling so many different numbers, trying to find a lead to where Eddie might've gone.
I type down the numbers while Robin, Max and Dustin call them, and Steve flirts with every girls he can, pretending he's just working.
"Hey, guys. I might have a lead" Max calls pur attention.
"Seriously?" Dustin turns to her, hopefully.
"Yeah, apparently, Eddie gets his drugs from come guy names Reefer Rick, and sometimes Eddie crashes there." She explains.
"That's promising" I comment.
"Where does this Reefer Rick live?" Robin asks.
"See that's the thing. No one knows. He's more of a.. a legend than someone that people actually know." Max explains.
"And.. what about a last name?" I ask.
"I don't know that either" She answers.
"Less promising" I shake my head.
"Bet the cops knows the last name" Steve intervenes.
We turn all to him.
"What?"
"Cops. I mean listen if this Reefer Rick is actually a drug dealer, I guarantee you he's been busted at some point. Means he's in the system" he explains like he found the perfect solution to all our problems.
"The cops? Really, Steve? That's your suggestion?" Dustin asks incredulous.
"I mean, I just think they should be filled on on what we know, what's going on" he says simply.
"You think Eddie's guilty, don't you?" Dustin accuses.
"Whoa. I believe in innocent until proven guilty, all that constitutional shit." Steve defends himself " I just, you know, don't think that we can rule it out"
"That's precisely what we're trying to do here, Steve." Max says annoyed.
"And maybe we'd have a little bit more luck if you spent less time trying to find a girlfriend and more time trying to find Eddie"
"He' not wrong here, Stevie" I agree with Dustin.
"Oh well somebody has to attend to the customers" Steve says, again, to defend himself, and I roll my eyes scoffing.
"Especially if they're babes, right?" Robin teases with a wink.
"Hey, not fair, okay?" Steve points his finger st her "I attend to all customers equally, babes and non-babes alike. We've got a very big selection in here. It can be super overwhelming for people"
"Yeah it can be" Robin says, I can tell she thought something to actually help us so I quickly follow her to the computer.
"What are you doing?" Max asks.
"Maybe we don't need a last name" she answers.
She type on the keyboard, Rick's name and a list of Ricks appears on the screen.
"Twelve Ricks have accounts here" she tells us.
"That's a lots of Ricks" Max comments.
"You're a genius, Robin" I tell her.
"I know. Now, let's narrow it down, uh? Rick Alderman's latest rentals are Annie and Dumbo...what are the chances our drug dealer has a family?" She asks.
"Not likely"
"All right, Rick Conroy. Sixteen candles, Teen Wolf, Romancing the stone." She move to the next Rick.
"No"
"Okay, Rick Joiner, Mask, Footloose, and Grease"
"Nah"
"Rick Kimbrough. The Blue Lagoon, and Splash."
"Definitely no"
"Okay. Rick Lipton. Fast Times at Ridgermont High, Cheech & Chong's next movie. Cheech & Chong's nice dreams. Cheech & Chong' up in smoke."
"Bingo" Dustin chuckles.
"Lipton?"
"Spelled like the tea. 2131 Holland Road" Robin reads.
"That's out by Lovers Lake" Dustin says.
"Middle of nowhere" I comment.
"It's a perfect place to hide" Robin agrees.
That being said we all head out to Steve's car and to this Reefer Rick's house.
And hopefully to Eddie.
We all grab a torch each and get out of the car to walk to this Reefer Rick's house.
The lights are out, which could mean that no one's home or... Eddie's hiding.
Dustin repeatedly tries to ring the bell, but to no use.
"Okay. Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here." Steve says, trying to make Dustin stop.
But Dustin just start to shout for Eddie to come out and tries again with the door bell.
Me and Max move to the side of the house with our torch, seeing what looks like a boathouse. Maybe Eddie's in there.
"Hey guys!" Max calls.
"Well let's go" I say already walking towards the small building.
Robin is the first one to enter.
"Hello? Is anyone home?" She tries.
We all enter and start to look around.
"What a dump" Steve comments
The place is far from clean, there garbage everywhere and, as expected, a boat in the middle filled with something covered by a tarp.
I spot Steve grabbing an oar as a weapon and starts to poke the boat multiple times.
"What are you doing?" Dustin asks.
Steve just doesn't answer so Dustin repeats the question, more shocked.
"He might be in here." Steve simply replies.
"So take the tarp off." Dustin tells him.
"If you're so brave, you take the tarp off" he basically challenges.
"Stop bickering, you two." I say.
Steve just keeps hitting on top of the tarp covered boat.
"Hey, look over here" Max tells us. She points our attention to some food envelopes.
"Someone was here." I try.
"Maybe he heard us. Got spooked and ran" Robin suggests.
"Don't worry. Steve will get him with his oar" Dustin says sarcastically.
"Oh I know you think you're being funny, Henderson, but considering everyone in this room has nearly died about a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slight-"
Steve is cut off by a loud scream and Eddie jumping from under the tarp and pushing him against the wall, a broken bottle in his hand.
We all gather as close as possible, trying to not scare him further for Eddie to react too badly.
"Whoa whoa whoa Eddie! Eddie! Stop!" Dustin says, holding his arms out to stop us from getting further closer.
Eddie turns to look at Dustin, not moving the broken glass away from Steve's neck yet.
"It's me. It's Dustin" Dustin tries to stay calm while getting Eddie's attention. "This is Steve. He's not going to hurt you, right, Steve?"
"Right, yeah" Steve agrees, quite agitated.
"Steve, c'mon.. drop the oar, will you?" I say, as calmly as possible.
Steve does as I say, dropping the oar away, but that just startles Eddie more pointing the glass back at Steve's neck.
"He's cool, he's cool" Dustin says.
"What are you doing here?" Eddie says, voice breaking.
"We're looking for you" Dustin replies
"We're here to help, Eddie" I add.
Eddie turns his head again to us, listening carefully.
"Eddie, these are my friends. You know Robin, from band. This is my friend Max. The one who never wants to play D&D. You know Y/n too. The quiet girl you always stare at, at lunch. Eddie. We're on your side. I swear on my mother. Right guys?"
"Yeah yeah we swear"
"Yeah on Dustin's mother"
"Yeah, Dustin's.. mother"
We say no more, tense as never before, but at the end Eddie lets Steve go and moves to the side sitting down.
Steve just come to us, I check his neck in case the broken bottle accidentally cut him but he's fine.
I turn to look at Eddie, Dustin kneels in front of him and I slowly follow.
He looks... terrified.
"Eddie...we just want to talk" Dustin very slowly tries to grab the bottle in Eddie's hand, but as soon as he gets to close he flinches grabbing the glass harder.
"Eddie... we just wanna know what happened. " I tell him.
"You won't believe me" he tells us.
"Try us" Max says.
Eddie told us everything that happened, about Chrissy coming to him to buy drugs, and how she died, right in front of him.
"Her body just lifted up into the air and.. and she just like, hung there. In the air. And her bones.. she.. her bones starter to snap"
He struggling to tell us what happened, all I want to do is grabbing his hand and reassure him...
"Her eyes, man" he continues "it was like.. there was something, inside her head, pulling. I.. I didn't know what to do so.. I.. I ran away. I left her there." He sounds so ashamed... he couldn't do anything for her.
Poor girl, she was really one of the sweetest person in Hawkins.
Fuck.
Eddie looks up to us, only to turn his head away quickly, scoffing.
"You all think I'm crazy right?"
"No. We don't think you're crazy" Dustin tries to reassure him.
"Don't bullshit me, man! I know how this sounds" Eddie snaps.
"We're not bullshiting you" Max intervenes.
"We believe you" Robin says and Eddie just scoffs, still not believing us.
"Look, what I'm about to tell you might be a little.. difficult to take." Dustin starts "you know how people say Hawkins is...cursed? They're not way off. There's another world.a words hidden beneath Hawkins. Sometimes it bleeds into ours." Dustin explains.
"Like ghosts and shit?" Eddie asks.
"There are... there are some things worst than ghosts" I tell him.
"These monsters from this other world, we thought they were gone. But they've come back before. That's why we needed to find you."
"If they're back again, we need to know" Max says.
"That night, did you see anything?" Robin asks.
"Dark particles, maybe"
Eddie just shakes his head no.
"It would almost look like dust, swirling dust." Dustin specifies.
"No, man, there was nothing you could see or.. touch" Eddie explains.
I look at Steve who, now, looks more worried than before, full attention on Eddie.
"You know, I tried to wake her, man. She couldn't move. It was like she.. she was in a trance or something." Eddie explains and we all listen carefully.
"Or under a spell" Dustin points out.
"A curse."
"Vecna's curse" Dustin realises.
"Who's Vecna?" Steve asks
"And undead creature of great power" Dustin answers.
"A spell caster" I say, earning a confused look from Steve.
"A dark Wizard" Dustin finishes.
This might be worse than all the ones before...
Fuck.
We decided we have to go and get some food for Eddie.
"We'll be right back, man, I promise" Dustin says.
As we all walk to the door.
Steve and Dustin turn to me stopping me in my tracks.
"Why don't you... uh... stay here and keep him company?" Dustin asks.
"What? Why me?" Now I'm confused.
"Because you're the sweetest and he clearly has a thing for you" Steve replies as the most simple thing ever.
"He does not" I tell him sternly.
"Either way you're the best choice. You're calmer and... easier to be around than the rest of us" Steve convinces me.
"Y/n, trust me. He needs someone like you now. Please, I don't think he should be alone now" Dustin says looking me in the eyes.
"Fine" I tell him nodding "yeah, I'll stay with him. But you better stay out of trouble"
"As always" Steve shrugs.
I give him a warning look and just sigh. Watching them driving away.
I get back to the boathouse and see Eddie's figure watching nothing on the boat.
"Hey" I say quietly.
He seems to snap out of trance and looks at me surprised.
"I thought you all went" he says, with a small smile.
"Yeah well... we didn't.. uh... Dustin didn't want you to be alone right now" I tell him, fidgeting with my rings again.
"Thanks.. I guess he's right" he says.
I nod, walking a bit closer, but not too much.
"So..." he starts.
"So..." I mimic him, earning a laugh from him.
"You knew about the spell caster" he implies.
"Yeah... a-and?"
"You know about D&D..?" He asks.
"Yeah.." I say nervously.
"No way!" He whisper shouts.
"It's true!" I tell him, with a small chuckle.
"How come didn't you join Hellfire?" He asks, genuinely curious.
"I.. well.. I just..." I stutter.
"Hey.. I'm not judging, m'lady" he assures me, with a smile.
"I'm just too shy, I think.. also I'm not very good at playing" I laugh quietly.
"I could've taught you" he says.
"I... I'm not very good with people" I honestly tell him.
"What do you mean?"
"I.. I'm not very good at talking to people, I get nervous and stutter the whole time. And just... I just shut up so I don't bother anyone" I explain.
"You're not stuttering with me" he shrugs.
"I.." I stops realising it's true.
With him it feels easier, somehow..
"No need to worry about a freak's opinion, i guess." he lower his eyes, almost disappointed.
"No! Not at all!" I quickly say.
He look at me, searching my eyes to see if I'm messing with him.
"I... listen, I don't understand why people always call you that, but I personally always saw you as someone... cool" I say, getting shy as I finish my sentence.
"Really?" He says, he tries to hold back a smile, but he fails.
"Yeah.." I look away from him. "You always walk around like you don't care about anything. You have your ideas and you're not ashamed, and of course you shouldn't be ashamed of them. You're like smarter than any of those dickheads from the basketball team"
"Wow" he blushes... he blushes?
Did I make Eddie Munson blush?
"Are you blushing, my lord?" I gather some courage and make a joke.
"Oh... 'my lord' uh?" He looks at me with a smirk, that makes me instantly lower my eyes with my cheeks warming up.
"I.. yeah.. I mean, you keep calling me-"
"M'lady? Yeah, so I'd say 'my lord' fits perfectly" he sweetly smiles at me.
We stay silent for a while.
It's a comfortable silence, the kind you don't have to talk to fill it. We just need each other company to be okay.
I watch him fidgeting with his own hands.
He's getting nervous.
Instinctively I reach out for his hands and he turns to me, surprised, but he doesn't retreat his hands.
"It's gonna be okay" I tell him. "I know it sounds like a shitty cliché.. trust me I know." I let out a small chuckle "we've been through this shit a few times.. the point is, we're with you on this. We're gonna solve this."
He holds my hands in his.
"I want to believe you" he says looking me in the eyes.
"Good" I say.
He starts to stroke my knuckles gently.
"I'm glad you're the one to stay here, m'lady" he says.
"Apparently I'm the easiest to be around" I tell him with a shrug.
He's still not letting go my hands.
"Maybe... but that's not the only reason, but yeah" he says, a playful smile on his face.
"Then... w-why?" I say, feeling my cheeks warming up again.
"Well.. that's an answer for another time, uh?" He winks and I'm just speechless.
All of a sudden we hear noises from outside.
I grab the oar Steve used earlier and move to the door.
"Stay there" I tell Eddie.
I get closer and closer to the door, that suddenly opens reveling Robin, Dustin, Max and Steve holding some bags full of food and drinks.
"Fuck sake!" I exclaim as they enter with apologetic looks.
"delivery service" Dustin announces.
I look at Eddie who look just as startled, heavy breathing and all that.
I just exhale deeply and grab one of the bags they carried inside.
