If you are talking about Kankri, I think he's more of a cousin or brother than father figure. Dancestors may become the Ancestors, but aren't exactly them yet. So I wouldn't fully apply Kankri's name onto the Signless/Sufferer. Though knowing that Porrim pale harassed Kankri, makes it scary thought that maybe the Dolorosa would feel this way towards a grub. Then again, Mindfang had to wait years for the Summoner to grow up and then become matesprites with him. Troll romance is fucked up.

I definitely agree Davekat work more in a sort of rivalry sense. Not in pitch flirting, but like trying to one-up the other because he knows it will get the other under their skin. That would be more of Dave to Karkat, but maybe there could be times Karkat would shine and see Dave's stoic cool face break off, that he would revel in seeing the cool kid lose his front. They probably can work together if something comes up that they have to put aside their differences. As what we almost saw with Terezi when she was with Gamzee. JohnDave is definitely the better BroTP. I would be the fan that has someone like Dave say "no homo" whenever he and John do stuff together.

Hmm i suppose the easy answer would be davekat but i dont even really like them as friends.

Remember in the preretcon timeline they went from physically fighting each other to "best bros" communicating over wrist phones and this development was completely done off screen in a time skip so not only does there romantic relationship have zero canon development and was time skipped and off screened into existence, so too is their platonic relationship as friends.

The only good relationship that has canon evidence of davekat is the two just absolutely hating each other and i dont even mean in a kismeises way, since remember dave does not like or understand or want to be in a blackrom.

Meh, ill say johndave is a better brotp then otp. Easy answer.
