Okay very serious post time

TW: school shooting, Apalachee HS shooting

I live and go to achool an hour away from Apalachee. The shock and fear that one experiences when you find out a school an hour away has a shooting is so indescribable to anyone who hasn't experienced it. Today my school has our normal security officer and THREE others, a state trooper, a sheriff, and another who I can't read the car of.

I, a 16 year old, shouldn't have to go to school thinking "what if today's the day?" I should not have to have a plan for every room and every section of my school for if (inevitably, when) something happens. CHILDREN shouldn't have to worry about this. We deserve to be protected. Metal detectors help a little bit, but it's far too easy to slip things past.

At Apalachee two teachers, Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irimie, both of which who had families, were killed. Two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both of which were 14, were also killed. By a 14 year old with an AR-style gun. Colt Gray had access to this weapon through his father, who claimed Colt "did not have unsupervised access to his hunting guns." Colt Gray has been on an FBI watchlist since last year in suspected relation to school shooting threats and social media posts about guns, but they didn't have enough evidence to arrest him. Now 4 people are dead and another 9 are injured, one of which had to be airlifted to Atlanta (Taylor unknown-lastname). David Phoenix (sh0t in the hip and foot according to his daughter) was also injured. All 9 are expected to survive thankfully. (the other 8 victims names haven't been disclosed as they were all students and therefore, minors)

WHEN are the adults who run this godforsaken country going to ACTUALLY do something about this? School started a fucking MONTH ago and there's already been one school shooting with major coverage and who knows how many others.

My mom said to me last night "And I though, at least she only has about a year and a half left, and then I was like nope these things happen at colleges too." I had so many people ask me if I was alright. I'm lucky enough to have never been in a county eith an active shooter but what about those who are? Apalachee has a student population of around 1910, plus their staff. Those are 1910+ families who will never be the same. 1910+ people who will never be the same.

I've seen so many posts of ELEMENTARY SCHOOL teachers talking about how their students told them "they wanted the light up shoes but couldn't get them just in case we have to hide" or something along that line. LITERAL CHILDREN. Everyday my little sisters go to school and I worry about them too. They are 9 and 4.

Protect our children.

Protect us.

Please.

Talk about the victims. Talk about the injured victims. Don't give all the attention to Gray. They had families too.

The rotund, colourful men and women painted and sculpted by Fernando Botero, who has died aged 91, made him perhaps the most popular Latin American artist of his generation and also one of the most commercially successful.

For years, art critics looked down on what the Colombian himself called his “fat people”, dismissing them as a trademark gimmick. But museums and collectors (including Hollywood celebrities such as Jack Nicholson and Sylvester Stallone) snapped them up. His paintings and sculptures were so immediately identifiable for their bloated proportions that his work even gave rise to the term “Boterismo” to describe his aesthetic.

Botero argued that every true artist has to “deform reality” according to their way of seeing the world. He stressed that, despite the apparent ease with which he produced his prolific output, each work was the result of intense artistic imagination and effort.

Born in Colombia’s second city, Medellín, Fernando was the son of David Botero, a travelling salesman, who died when he was four, and Flora Angulo, who provided for her three children by working as a seamstress. Botero often said that the dedication she put into fabricating her creations was his earliest inspiration, and one of his later works was an affectionate portrait of her at her sewing machine.

An uncle helped pay for his education at a Jesuit school, but from an early age Botero took to drawing and painting to supplement his mother’s earnings. In his teens he drew illustrations for the cultural supplement of a Medellín newspaper, and soon afterwards he left for the capital, Bogotá, where one of his first oil paintings won him a large sum in prize money, allowing him to pursue his artistic education in Europe.

At first his work was greatly influenced by the school of Mexican muralists that included Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco. As well as giving him an appetite for large public works and teaching him how to deal with volume in two dimensions, what he took from the artists was the fact that they considered depicting the life of Mexican peasants and the history of Latin America as being equally important as anything being produced in Europe or the US. In this, Botero’s confidence and self-awareness mirrored that of writers such as Gabriel García Márquez, whose novel One Hundred Years of Solitude also gave themes of Colombia’s history a universal appeal.

In Europe in the early 1950s, Botero lived first in Madrid, then Paris, but perhaps the most formative period of his early career came in Florence, where he spent two years studying the Italian masters, especially those of the quattrocento such as Masaccio, Paolo Uccello and Piero della Francesca. He never tired of repeating that the most enduring lesson he learned from them was that, although their works appear realistic, they were imagined and processed by an individual sensibility.

By the early 60s Botero was living in New York, and already acquiring a considerable reputation. In 1961 his reworking of the Mona Lisa, entitled Mona Lisa, Age Twelve, in his typically rotund style, was purchased by the Museum of Modern Art – the first of many acquisitions of his work by that institution.

In the 70s his preoccupation with capturing volume led him to start producing huge bronze sculptures of voluptuous women and sadly comical men, as well as giant cats and massive hands. These were often displayed in the city centres of Madrid or Paris. In the latter, a 1993 exhibition on the Champs-Ēlysées drew such large crowds that traffic ground to a halt. Botero’s reclining Broadgate Venus (1989) is on permanent display near Liverpool Street station in London.

Although internationally renowned, Botero never forgot his roots in Colombia. In 2000 he donated more than 100 of his works to a specially created Botero Museum in Bogotá, adding paintings from his personal collection by Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso and the impressionists. He gave another 100 of his works to the Museum of Antioquia in Medellín, as well as 23 of his monumental bronze sculptures.

It was what happened to one of these sculptures – his Dove of Peace in the Plaza de San Antonio, Medellín – that brought into sharp relief the contrast between his generally exuberant, cheerful view of life and the often harsher reality of Colombia. During an open air concert in the square in 1995, a bomb hidden beneath the sculpture by Farc guerrillas killed 30 people and injured more than 200. One of the artist’s sons, Fernando Botero Zea, was defence minister at the time, and the bomb was apparently intended as a protest by Farc against his refusal to enter peace talks with them. Botero’s response was to cast another, identical bird, and have it placed alongside the mutilated original with the names of the victims inscribed on its base.

He was, however, capable of addressing the crueller aspects of life, and did so in several paintings. In the 60s and 70s he produced a series of portraits of Latin American dictators in which the puffed-up size of the figures was a satirical reflection on their self-importance. Nor could he remain indifferent to the drug violence that made his home city at one time named the most dangerous in the world, especially when the drug kingpin Pablo Escobar dominated the trade. In 2004 Botero produced a series of paintings of him being hunted down and killed in 1993, as well as other scenes from the violence that gripped Colombia in the 90s.

The most controversial of his more political works was the series he produced in 2004-05 of around 80 paintings and 100 drawings depicting the torture by US forces of prisoners in the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq. Botero donated the series to the library at the University of California, Berkeley, arguing that the subject matter was too serious for them to be sold to collectors.

Sales of his other work allowed him to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle, with houses in Europe and the US, a yacht and what he called his “favourite toy”, a Rolls-Royce Phantom V. Across the years his work was shown in around 200 individual exhibitions, more than 100 of them in well-known museums and public art galleries. He continued to work 10 hours a day throughout his 80s, and declared to friends that he wanted to die painting, as Picasso did.

Botero’s first marriage, to Gloria Zea, ended in divorce in 1960, and his second wife, the Greek sculptor Sophia Vari, whom he married in the mid-70s, died in May. He is survived by three children, Fernando, Lina and Juan Carlos, from his first marriage. Another child, Pedro, from a relationship in the early 70s with Cecilia Zambrano, was killed in 1979 in a car accident in which Botero was also injured.

Empiezo el día recordando el ULTIMO MINUTO de CERATI en un ESCENARIO en su gira FUERZA NATURAL (y su última foto posterior dándole a continuación el ACV en CARACAS siendo trasladado a la clínica LA TRINIDAD de donde por cierto..tuvo que ser DERIVADO unas horas al irse LA LUZ=Nombre de clínica en Madrid donde murió Enrique MORENTE autor de LP OMEGA=FIN..culpando la familia a la eminencia del Dr Enrique MORENO que le puso un hígado a RAPHAEL cuya última gira fue VICTORIA y donde rehízo fantasticamente a mi madre una mala operación de una hernia de hiato conociendo mi padre al anestesista desde la infancia por lo que no le cobro su MILLON de PTS en año 2000 y estando yo toda la semana en la clínica LA LUZ por lo que me cruce a PITITA RIDRUEJO de la que sacaron el titular A MUCHA GENTE NO LE CONVIENE QUE LLEGUE EL APOCALIPSIS..aunque yo creo que le conviene al 99% y sin olvidar que este MUNDO OSCURO o INFIERNO va por muy mal camino).

Una FUERZA NATURAL que se puede DESATAR de MIL FORMAS o en MIL SITIOS como es con un CALOR O SOL EXTREMO..por lo que recuerdo que ayer fotografié junto a plaza CASTILLA o las TORRES inclinadas KIO (compensacion de los JEQUES de KWAIT a JUANCARLOS I por la participación de ESPAÑA en la GUERRA de KWAIT en cuyo barco NUMANCIA=Resistencia a ROMA..canto la nochebuena de 1991 Marta SANCHEZ [cuya hermana MELLIZA "PAZ" murió de CANCER con 37 años] con OLE OLE Soldados del AMOR [siendo enfocado un tal DAVID TORNOS FARRELI que fundó con su PADRE Gonzalo Tornos Cafranga GLORY CARS de COCHES DE EPOCA tras ser socio y amigo de mi ex_vecino JOSE MANUEL ALMARCHA ALCOLEA ..y al que le tocó el coche que sorteo entre los MARINEROS DE REEMPLAZO la revista de POLITICA y SOCIEDAD así como de DESNUDOS de FAMOSAS "INTERVIU" del grupo ZETA que fundó el malogrado con 53 años por tumor cerebral Antonio ASENSIO y amigo de JUANCARLOS I.. en un local de la IGLESIA en BARCELONA como la revista TIEMPO o el PERIODICO DE CATALUNYA..y el cual REVENTO los derechos televisivos del FUTBOL con el PACTO de NOCHEBUENA]..desnudandose por una millonada a continuación MARTA SANCHEZ en INTERVIU, dejando a su novio BATERIA el malogrado JUAN TARADO digo TARODO que la dio la OPORTUNIDAD para lanzarse con el cd MUJER y salir con el batería de DURAN DURAN stearling CAMPBELL que entro en SOUL ASYLUM en el cd GRAVE DANCERS UNION publicando posteriormente cd CHANGE OF FORTUNE y participando en cd FUERZA NATURAL de CERATI)).. donde rodaron el final de EL DIA DE LA BESTIA de ALEX DE LA IGLESIA (donde el CURA EXORCISTA lo interpretó ALEX ANGULO que se mató de un brutal accidente cuando rodaba BENDITA CALAMIDAD en LA RIOJA capital LOGRo+cOÑO=Lo que se consigue con la VAGINA o el poder del SEXO FEMENINO=PECADO ORIGINAL..de igual forma que se mató en LA RIOJA o en ALFARO el cantante de PARALISIS PERMANENTE que sólo publicó cd EL ACTO por el sexual con un crucificado en portada y el single QUIERO SER SANTA o una burla a las martirizadas y reprimidas católicas asi como donde VARRY BRAVA grabó el video de SATANICA en el CONVENTO de LA INMACULADA CONCEPCION ..y el cual o ALEX ANGULO acababa de grabar una locución sobre una TORMENTA titulada CRUCE DE CAMINOS del cd ROOM 13: A BLUE TALE de jimmy BARNATAN o el niño endemoniado de EL DIA DE LA BESTIA en cuyo cd incluyo versión de JOHN THE REVELATOR como hizo en su siguiente cd MOTORCLUB junto al cantante de M CLAN autores de cd PARA NO VER EL FINAL y en el que canta THE GANGSTER THAT YOU NEED con VIRGINIA MAESTRO con la que hizo conciertos para luego publicar el cd BOURBON CHURCH= o la IGLESIA DEL BORBON FRANCES que es la CATOLICA O SATANICA APOCALIPTICA))..un BUS con un anuncio del BETIS [=estadio HELIOPOLIS=ciudad del SOL y ciudad deportiva LUIS DEL SOL]..de CLIMATIZADORES y cuyo bus fotografié en CONDUIT ST o frente al hotel WEST_BURY (Occidente_enterrar) tras jugar ese 6/8/11 en el estadio LIBERTY de SWANSEA

Los diálogos construidos cargan una dimensión poética y política a la vez, invitando al público a participar del universo repleto de imágenes, colores y texturas. ¡El ‘Chino’ Huerta hace historia en su debut con el Anderlecht!

César ‘Chino’ Huerta ha tenido un inicio de ensueño en su aventura europea con el Anderlecht de Bélgica. El atacante mexicano dejó una huella imborrable en su debut al anotar un gol que selló la victoria de su equipo 2-0 sobre el KVC Kortrijk, en la jornada 22 de la Primera División belga.

A pesar de comenzar el partido desde el banquillo, el ‘Chino’ se convirtió en el protagonista del encuentro cuando, a los 71 minutos, el director técnico David Hubert decidió darle la oportunidad de ingresar al campo en reemplazo de Thorgan Hazard, estrella del Anderlecht. Este cambio fue recibido con una gran ovación por parte de la afición, que ya comenzaba a disfrutar del talento del mexicano.

Y no fue para menos. En cuanto Huerta pisó el terreno de juego, demostró su determinación y rapidez, buscando la pelota y generando jugadas ofensivas. En tiempo de compensación (90+3’), Nilson Angulo le puso un centro perfecto al segundo palo, donde el ‘Chino’ no dudó en empujarla al fondo de la red para marcar el gol que cerró la victoria.

La hinchada visitante, que acompañó al Anderlecht en su visita al campo del Kortrijk, no tardó en rendirse ante la calidad del mexicano, entonando el tradicional "¡Olé, olé, olé, ‘Chino!’", cántico que también resonó con fuerza en la presentación de Huerta con su nuevo equipo. Así, con solo su primer partido, el delantero azteca se ganó el cariño de los aficionados del Anderlecht, dejando claro que llegó para quedarse.
