I love translators translating manga directly to English and NOT TRANSLATING THE FUCKING PUNCHLINE OF THE JOKE???

It was supposed to be this:

It’s a play on words that only really works in Japanese, it’s the same exact reason Gohan was even named Gohan. They were talking about lunch and Gohan started laughing so they named him after lunch lol.

He didn’t forget she existed. Goku’s whole schtick is that he takes things at face value. It’s the same as the kissing thing. Goku wasn’t talking about kissing, he was talking about getting fed like a baby bird.

The translators seem to always misinterpret this and it’s getting annoying.

Bulma and 18's relationship is so fascinating, because Bulma will say some hurtful cyborg-related remarks to 18's face sometimes (ie. her comments after the 18 VS Satan fight) because she never thinks before she speaks, and it's clear that this upsets 18, but 18 knows she can't sass Bulma back because Bulma's the one person who could shut her down in a heartbeat if she wanted to, so instead she does shit like demanding Bulma pay her for her services to the planet, to try and get back some semblance of power from their friendship dynamic and feel like she's in control, but she's not, she never is
