hidden tales unearthed: compilation of tag rambles
so you guys know how i love to write borderline novels in my art tags sometimes? i decided to make a masterpost with all of those tags written out in a way that's actually not as troublesome to read (no line breaks tho sorry), categorized by post and updated every time i do this shit again. hope y'all enjoy. thanks to alex fivewholeminutes for pestering me about this & let me know if i missed any tags from any posts
Him: the most "itself" this thing has ever been, the most it will be. held together by vengefulness alone and pretending it's something more than that. there isn't really vessel in there anymore, nor is there sleep; it's both and neither, a mortal shell filled with barely controlled anger constantly threatening to burst. it still tries to make itself a god, but all it's ever been and all it'll ever be is a mockery of both godhood and humanity. a ticking time bomb of a joke.
Decimation: they're both so volatile; they eat each other alive, they dissolve and meld together and separate just to repeat it once more. it cannot be good, it never is. they lose a little bit each time. they come back a little weaker. and yet they keep going, even after it results in an explosion, even when one of them does not think he can anymore. because there is not one other force in the whole world that can make either of them feel like this. finally, for once, alive.
Excess: at the end of the day, the cycle doesn't end, not with them. vessel ends up on the other end of the blade. he knew he would, he has known from the beginning. and it still hurts. not getting his throat slit, he has come to terms with that. it's who's holding the dagger to his neck. the one before was a stranger to him; still not easy to kill, but easier when you feel nothing for them. ii is a friend. a bandmade. the closest person in his entire life, and he has to die by his hands. it isn't easy to let go, for either of them. but holy duty stands above any feelings they may have. there's no vessel now, just a lifeless body that housed sleep once and never will again. there is no ii, either. a new vessel now stands reborn. he is without a name, but his new purpose is grander than he'll ever be; his demise laid out right in front of him, slumped at his feet.

possible designs for the guys in this story idea,,
guy on the left is Algol, a half-gorgon half-ghoul who works on the administrative branch of a university. he is the bastard son of the university's dean, born out of a college fling. he doesn't like his father's side of the family very much at all, but he lives close to them because his mother (the ghoul half) is like. an activist and/or anthropologist who is always traveling as part of her work. his father is married to a gorgon from a super conservative family, and they have two daughters. the older one is about college-aged. because of his ghoul side he is an exclusive carnivore. he can kinda shift into a hyena-like monster shape but it's pretty inconvenient so he mostly doesn't. as a half-gorgon he can "petrify" people but only if he stares at them for a while, and it's not like "physically turn to stone" petrification it's "become unable to move for a while" petrification. ("turn to stone" petrification is a very rare power only extremely purebred gorgons have. most just have the snake-looking hair and "freeze up" petrification) his fumblr (fake tumblr) blog is like 40% (mostly gay) erotic art 40% horror art 20% discourse. instead of tagging stuff he has one million sideblogs for categorizing stuff, and reblogs everything to main and to the fitting sideblog(s) he makes paintings but never posts them because he doesn't want anyone irl to find his blog. he is well-versed in a bunch of activism stuff because his mom uses his dms to save pdfs and articles and he reads them when he has downtime in his job.
guy on the right is Galileo (or Leo for short), a psychology post graduate student who works in the university's associated elementary school as part of his doctorate. he's a cosmic witch (witch whose magic is powered by the stars) but he's not that into magic so he can only do simple spells like floating small objects or projecting constellations. it makes him very popular with the kids he teaches. his fumblr blog is like 40% memes and positivity 30% hornyposting 20% "friendly" banter with Algol 10% discourse and complaining about his life Algol's sister is also a psychology student, and they're both in their department's "student council" so they talk a lot. they are good friends. (she is the one who told him about Algol having a fumblr blog)
Galileo is like the psychology department's "mascot" since he's been there for about 10 years (between graduation and post graduations) and he's so friendly and good with people, so he's relatively famous around campus. Algol is also pretty famous in the university, but because he has gotten a bunch of faculty members fired over the years, some for good reason like abusing students or being racist, some just because he decided to make their lives hell. so they are like polar opposites in personality and fame, which is why they avoided each other for the most part. and then Algol's sister made them exchange usernames and they looked at each other's blogs and decided that the other sounds absolutely insufferable. and Algol decided that was the start of a wonderful enemyship. because he loves antagonizing people on purpose. and Galileo just kinda. went along with it. great way to vent his aggression that he usually just keeps to himself.
.... that's about all I can think to say right now. good night <3
#youni originals#modern weirdos#algol#galileo#i was gonna draw more doodles of them but I got. busied.#algol is the name of a star. i was gonna name them both after stars or constellations but i could not find a good one to match with algol#and then while looking at wikipedia list of exoplanets with proper names I saw one named after galileo (the astronomer) and was like.#why didn't I think of that. that's perfect#it's a kinda clunky name but he's a trans guy so it's cute that he a cosmic witch would choose to name himself after an astronomer#and it's also fitting for them as a pair. the star and the one who observes stars.#also i did not emphasize it enough in the texts. algol loves his mother. he and his mother are best friends.#he loves when she uses his dms as a bookmark. he does it to her too#they talk all the time. she lives with him whenever she returns to the city. but she usually only spends a few weeks at a time.#meanwhile his stepmother.. if they greet each other when he drives his sister home from uni that's more interaction than average.

The Miss Gossiper's press newest addition to our paper services; Saturday Polls!
Do not fear, the press is back in business again and near once more! And this time, returning with a new addition to our usual papers. Alongside the submitted gossip of around, event reports, our papers will now even include joyous little polls to keep the entertainment around town up and spirits high.
Curious to know who would be nominated most attractive in our fine town? Who would hypothetically die first in a horror movie setting determined by popular vote? Then look forward to our Saturday scheduled polls and remember to submit your vote!

Requests are open, so if an idea ever arises as to possible polls you would like to see the town riot over - just submit a friendly letter in our drop box! But alas, do remember that it is not solemnly promised to be made possible and only if it is at our most convenience.
Until next time, Dearest Readers~!
â · Miss Gossiper
EDIT OOC: due to everything this past month, I've decided to clear up confusion and add some steady guidelines that will now be strictly followed.
1. these polls are targeted towards a sub-branch of the rp usually consisting of ocs or historical figures all run by a familiar set of mods: i.e the Columbia college, the "satire rp" tagged ones, etc. you will commonly see the same set of characters repeat in the polls if you need further example. if you have not interacted with these set of characters for the past year or a half, you will likely not find yourself included.
2. certain characters/mods will also be excluded, regardless of their consistency with interactions, if they have proven to be a discomfort. wether I have you blocked, dni'ed, or whatever else, I am entitled to my space of comfort and am under no obligation to include everyone if it means risking my boundaries.
3. dms are my preferred form of communication, I do not like arguing with anons. if you have any complaints, issues, requests; you want to request be included, or you want to see other characters included, just send in a polite dm and I will try to get back to you. if, however, you are under number twos conditions (e.x. blocked) I cannot promise a response. any anons making requests for characters to be included will be deleted and ignored.
4. anons making suggestions for future polls however will not go ignored, as that is what they are there for in the first place. not for ooc demands, but possible suggestions for ic purposes.
5. I am a busy person with a real life and real responsibilities, I will likely never be able to remember every character and have them included and nowhere do I ever promise that. I am one person only capable of so much + there is a limitation to how many answers a poll can have. I will try my best to categorize them in such a way to leave enough room for everyone, but in no way is everyone entitled to a spot on the poll. it is purely based on my best efforts.

Week 8 â Grounding Ideas in Cultural and Technological Practice
Part I: The Experience
Coming out of the ideation phase in Week 7, this week was all about beginning my second round of experimentation. Rather than jumping into high-fidelity prototypes, I decided to focus on expanding my knowledge base through research-heavy, small-scale experiments that would guide my design decisions. I wanted to explore the cultural responsibilities of designing with indigenous narratives and investigate how emerging technologies are being used in Aotearoa and beyond to amplify place-based storytelling.
My primary goal for this week was to better understand how MÄori stories are being told in the public domain and what tools are being used for that purpose. While I didnât build a digital prototype yet, I created three research-based outputs that helped me shape the direction of HÄ«koi Huna:
1. Case Study Mapping: I built a visual map comparing AR experiences from institutions such as Te Papa, WÄtÄ Workshop Unleashed, and the Smithsonian. I categorized them based on interactivity, narrative layering, cultural representation, and technological platform (e.g. mobile-based AR, headset AR, web-based 3D). This comparison helped me evaluate what is already being done and where my project might sit within that landscape.
2. Cultural Presentation Audit: I walked through several heritage sites in TÄmaki Makaurau (such as the Domain and Britomart) to analyse how history is currently represented in urban space. I took notes and photos of plaques, signs, and QR codes and evaluated their tone, accessibility, and engagement levels. I found most of them static and lacking emotional resonance, which reaffirmed the potential of immersive storytelling.
3. NFC Technology Primer: I revisited my prior experience working with NFC tags this week. I had experimented with them in a previous project but wanted to refresh and deepen my understanding of how they could be applied to interactive storytelling in public spaces. Using my smartphone and blank NFC stickers, I relearned how to encode and trigger digital content using freely available apps like NFC Tools. I also found online tutorials like this video walkthrough on how to use NFC tags with Android helpful to rebuild my confidence and test potential use cases for Hīkoi Huna.
Part II: Reflection on Action
This week helped me shift my mindset from product-making to experience-building. Rather than feeling pressure to âbuild an app,â I began thinking about how a sequence of momentsâvisuals, interactivity, reflectionâcould be curated in the userâs journey.
I also began reflecting more deeply on positionality. As someone who is not MÄori, I recognised that my role is to create a respectful framework, not to be the storyteller. I started mapping out ways in which co-design could take place in later phases of development, such as collaborating with kaumÄtua or working with oral historians.
Part III: Theory
My research this week drew from the Integrated Reflective Cycle and texts on design and decolonisation. A key influence was âDecolonising Methodologiesâ by Linda Tuhiwai Smith, which reminded me that data and storytelling in indigenous contexts must be guided by ethical relationships and not just innovation.
I also looked at user experience frameworks in cultural institutions, such as the âPlace-Making Principlesâ published by CreativeNZ, which emphasise grounding designs in local context and collective identity. This aligned well with the goals of HÄ«koi Huna, particularly around emotional resonance and accessibility.
Part IV: Preparation
With Crit Session 2 approaching in Week 9, I set the following goals:
Draft a slide presentation outlining the cultural and technological rationale for Hīkoi Huna
Continue low-fidelity prototyping using Twine for narrative flow and InVision/Figma for user interface mockups
Begin exploring ways to visualise unseen landscapes, such as Waihorotiu stream overlays
Prepare questions for peer feedback focused on tone, clarity, and cultural relevance
Week 8 was foundational. It grounded my ideas in real-world contexts and provided me with technical pathways to explore, while keeping cultural responsibility front and centre. My plan is to build slow and build well.

Smart Strategies for Downsizing: How to Declutter Before Your Move
Once you have sorted out and categorized all of the items in your home, it will become much easier to actually do something about the stuff you will not take with you. At times, you are likely to face up some tough decisions as to whether to pay for the relocation of specific items or not. Donât be surprised to experience difficulties with the Unwanted/Unneeded category because those will be the things you are supposed to optimize in the first place.
For now, letâs assume that youâve made all the right decisions and your next task is to figure out how to get rid of your stuff when you move with Packers and Movers Vastrapur Ahmedabad â that is, the things youâre not moving to your new residence. Luckily, you have a number of good options.
Option 1. Sell your unwanted things online
Believe it or not, selling your unwanted items online is the best way to purge stuff before moving. The truth is that you know WHY you should do it too â to earn additional money to cover your moving costs! And who could possibly say NO to that!
Here are the main points to consider when selling stuff online:
How to organize a garage sale
Unless youâre putting up for sale hot items at low prices, selling unwanted items online takes time. Count the days you have until Moving day and try to figure out if youâll have enough time or not. You can always attempt to sell online some items after the move but you will have already paid for their transportation, so the purpose will be defeated.
Prepare the items you want to sell on the Internet â clean them thoroughly or do some minor repairs to make them look good.
Assess the value of your stuff and think of reasonable prices that will sell relatively fast. If youâre not sure about the price tags, see how similar products are priced at a few reputable websites. Warning: Do not price your items too low because you donât want to lose money at the end of the day.
Make quality photos of the products and do create close-up photographs of problematic areas in order to sell things online successfully.
Take your time in writing a catchy ad that will attract potential customers â include important background information about the products, make sure you mention their strengths and donât forget to say why you are selling them as people will try to figure out if thereâs a catch or not.
Decide how your items will be shipped and what payment methods you will accept.
Be as honest as possible as there is little to gain from trying to trick people. Respond quickly to any inquiries about the items and keep a friendly tone throughout.
Consider using the top-rated websites for selling things: Amazon, eBay, and Craigslist.
Option 2. Sell your unneeded items at a moving sale
Organizing a moving sale prior to moving can be a great option for you to get rid of unwanted things in your home. Whether you will call it a garage sale or a yard sale, the idea here is to invite people from nearby neighborhoods to come to your home and buy something from the things you have displayed on your yard and in your garage.

Benefits of Using Tumblr to Showcase Your Tech Projects and Learning.
If you stumbled across my page you are probably wondering why I migrated my website to Tumblr. The last time I used Tumblr as my main form of social media was in high school (circa 2013). During this time I was the most creative I'd ever been in my life - photographing my life, reposting quotes that led me to reading books, and so forth. Maybe it's the nostalgia factor, maybe it's my Leo tendencies to want to stand out (I apologize for the reference to horoscopes, I promise I only use them for comedic purposes), or maybe it's because I'm tired of paying for a platform that no longer inspires me. Using Tumblr to showcase my projects or learning has its own set of advantages, and were heavily considered before deciding to migrate. Whether it's better than a traditional website depends on your specific goals and preferences. Here are some benefits of using Tumblr
Ease of Use:
Tumblr is known for its user-friendly interface. It's easy to set up and customize your blog without the need for advanced technical skills.
You can quickly create and publish content, making it a convenient platform for sharing updates on your projects or learning journey.
Community Interaction:
Tumblr is a social media platform, and it allows for easy interaction with a community of users. You can gain followers, receive feedback, and engage with other users who share similar interests. I hope to reach an audience that perhaps has no clue what conversation design is. Linkedin, Medium, and other tech-focused platforms can seem intimidating.
The reblogging feature enables your content to be shared across the platform, potentially reaching a broader audience.
Visual Emphasis:
Tumblr is particularly visual-centric. If your projects involve a lot of visual elements such as images, graphics, or multimedia, Tumblr can be an excellent platform for showcasing them effectively.
The platform supports various media types, including photos, videos, and GIFs. This makes my job a little easier in that I don't have to rely solely on free image websites like Unsplash (sorry, ILY Unsplash).
Tagging and Discovery:
Tumblr uses a tagging system that helps organize and categorize content. This can improve the discoverability of your projects, especially if users search for relevant tags.
Tags make it easier for users interested in specific topics to find and follow your content.
Mobile-Friendly:
Tumblr is optimized for mobile use, making it accessible to users on various devices. This can be advantageous if you want your projects to be easily viewable on smartphones and tablets.
Cost-Effective:
Tumblr is a free platform, which can be beneficial if you're looking for a cost-effective way to showcase your work. You don't need to invest in hosting or domain fees.
Experimentation and Informality:
Tumblr has a more casual and informal atmosphere compared to traditional websites. This can be advantageous if you want to experiment with different styles of content or convey a more personal touch to your audience.
While Tumblr offers these advantages, it's essential to consider the specific needs and goals of your project or learning showcase. Traditional websites may provide more control over branding, customization, and the overall structure of your online presence. Ultimately, the choice between Tumblr and a website depends on factors such as your audience, content type, and the level of control and professionalism you desire.

How to get rid of stuff before moving
Once you have sorted out and categorized all of the items in your home, it will become much easier to actually do something about the stuff you will not take with you. At times, you are likely to face up some tough decisions as to whether to pay for the relocation of specific items or not. Donât be surprised to experience difficulties with the Unwanted/Unneeded category because those will be the things you are supposed to optimize in the first place.
For now, letâs assume that youâve made all the right decisions and your next task is to figure out how to get rid of your stuff when you move with Packers and Movers Kolkata to Patna â that is, the things youâre not moving to your new residence.
