people are always hating on the hinterlands but I am here with a hot take: the storm coast sucks SO much worse

#listen #L I S T E N #YES the hinterlands are unbearably large for a tutorial level but they are well laid out #I can finish up all my shit in certain areas and then never go back #so it’s like….. semi contained #the storm coast? the STORM COAST???#I am running back and forth 75 times doing all sorts of banal shit that I don’t wanna do #I am running down an identical coast for roughly 3000 miles #oh there’s something here? it’s up on this hill?#well let me hike 10 minutes out of my way to scale the OTHER side because that’s the only way to get up it #the ONLY interesting thing about the storm coast is 1) recruiting iron Bull which happens 2 seconds in #2) giant/dragon fight obvi #3) that uhhhhhhhhhh freaky weird orlesian cannibal #everything else I have to do in the storm coast is against my will #I will HAPPILY fuck with the wounded coast all 85 times I have to trundle across that map in da2 #but the sword coast is my MORTAL enemy #(my immortal enemy is the deep roads in the uhhhh whatever that dlc is for dai)#say what you will about maps in the first two games but none of them are so unbearably BIG #and YES I’m including the fade because the girls who get it get it #and I WILL be knocking out the fade in any game in like half an hour tops #dai #dragon age inquisition #dragon age

#akuma's day-to-day happenings #not fandom tagging but i will tag the characters #idv grace #joseph desaulniers #because i CAN #both these characters are super important and honestly p personal to me #joseph moreso than grace probably but they're still both so close to my heart #they're like. the only hunters i play #they're the only ones i can play well for sure #i used to main mary and wu but fell out of practice w/ them #meanwhile these two. hooooh boy #despite there being a good few grace counters she still feels just. so fun and rewarding to play #i prefer not to camp with her and i never stop moving. the map control is SOOOO good #she's really consistent n can usually net (ha) ties almost all the time #whereas joseph is a lot less consistent but MAN a good joseph match is one of the best things in the world #i love just exhausting the survivors running out their resources slowing everything down #his chase is weak as hell. but do NOT underestimate the power of just. map-wide damage #they're also both good at creating lose-lose scenarios #do you tank the humidity or leave the area and risk getting hit??#do you stop to heal and slow down the game or risk being downed in one hit??#i also am very aware i probably don't play against very good survivors bc i don't rank #so my rank is generally. not that high #but still. they're both just. so fun to play #and character-wise. ouaghaghasghhsagdhaghh #that's all i have to say about that #joseph is joseph. joseph is one of the best most well-done portrayals of grief i've ever seen #and grace is such a wonderful blend of “sweet and gentle” and “will drag you into the icy deep and crush you beneath the pressure”

Finally tamed a turtle! The deinosuchus did the trick. \o/

The hilariously ironic thing is that half the reason I wanted one was for the scuba tank saddle, and right after taming her Max hit 81. Which is the level you learn scuba. So he doesn't really need her anymore (but she can still produce algae so it's fine). XD

Also bred my thylas and got m/f twins so. Caves here I come! \o/

And I finished breeding up his birds. The Shiny I found was a Tiger and they got most of his colors. Very pretty. :D

#ark survival ascended #ark volcano #turtle was 180 wild so she is /ridiculous/ i love her #so she'll see some use at some point anyway XD #need to hunt down some more crocs for stats >.>#problem i've had with taming them is they like to swim on the bottom of the rivers #and the rivers on this map are /deep/#so getting them onto land where i can feed them is... an experience #but i can use his first one to lure them out now \o/#need to do a massive metal run next and get his indy forge #and i want to check for more wyvern eggs >.>

AWW THANK YOU SO MUCH I'M SO GLAD TO HEAR GENUINELY!!!!!!<333 i love sharing honestly it feels so special...not to get sappy again but this is my first video game experience like that, since tf2 is the first like. multiplayer shooter i've ever played and it's just. so nice when someone teaches me how to do silly stuff like the "intel funny" or when i have the honor of participating in a server-wide dance party. it's just so!!! well. nice and really cool honestly :]

#ask #like. total strangers i may not stumble upon again are making my day better just because i think we just. like being nice to eachother #deep down kind of #as i said that thrusting sniper may not know how hard that made me laugh and the dude who said 'good job' to me also might not know how #special i felt but. well i feel all of that and i'll remember it. do you get me #love forever ok?#and honestly! i know some fears are hard to overcome i was definitely shaking when i joined into my first match but people are really ok #most of the time! and if they aren't honestly just hit the bricks! if i'm not having fun or see an asshole i usually que for another game #2fort i feel like is also super forgiving since people are kind of expecting silly players? but even on idk payload maps nobody gave me any #trouble for being a 50 minutes of playtime noob pyro. and you get better the longer you play like genuinely!#like with the whole spy thing. you start to get a feel for when someone is acting suspicious #recently i've also been unlearning going with the rocket launchers against pyros but that also took like. 5 reflected rocket deaths to #really stick. ok i'm rambling now but it can be a wonderful game :3 #i know this all might sound silly but i started like. kind of genuinely playing games only last summer so discovering all of these new #things is just ahh!!! it's so cool!

first time actually playing rain world instead of watching highlights. who the fuck designed shaded citadel.

#*gripping wall so hard it cracks with a feral look on my face* background and foreground bridge elements should NOT BE SIMILAR COLOURS!!!!!#like as an AREA??? not too hard. i mostly ran past the spiders. they only got me once.#but oohhh my gooood the intuitive game design is lacking??? <- studied videogames theory and implementation at uni #lantern mice slow you down while holding them. you can't grab to platform with them #overseers either highlight nothing or the wrong areas - or constantly ping moon when you've already visited her #but the bridge bit got me the most. if a platforming failure is MY fault fine. I'll learn.#but you CAN'T colour parts of the background black and the foreground black too. that's just not fair on the player. it needs to be clearer #i had to use my map so many times to clarify stuff the screen wasn't #*DEEP BREATHS* it's FINE I'm FINE I'll cope and seethe etc. I'll deal with it.#but yeah. definitely not a game for everyone. my friend would've lost his mind at that.#.......not gonna maintag just to be nicies. don't want to shove negativity in the tag. 👍#spark talks about nothing of relevance #now that's what I call shitposting #spark's rain world adventures

'that still doesn't tell me WHY you're here. out with it.'#varric speaks up: 'my asshole brother locked us in a thaig. we came down on an expedition and found an idol that he betrayed us for'#amell frowns. 'a *thaig*? there aren't any records in the shaperate of any out this far. this isn't even a main branch of the deep roads.'#'it could be ancient!' sigrun offers 'or an unsavory secret the shaperate 'lost'. like Caridin?' amell nods & turns back to varric.#'so you're looking for a way out.' they nod. 'and just happened to come by this way?' anders says 'no commander- we need your help.'#amell takes another swig of her bottle. her hair is definitely glowing slightly. 'who *doesn't* these days. but for a pair of old friends-'#she winks at anders. 'what is it you need?' danie interrupts. '-please- my brother is sick- if you can't help him he'll die!'#amell looks at hawke then at carver. gets up and steps over to him. kneels in front of him and unceremoniously grabs his face #tilts his chin up (carotid + jugular blackened) peels his eyelid back (sclera greying and bloodshot) pries open his mouth (tongue greying)#then releases his head and stands shaking her hands. 'oh yeah. that's blight for sure. this is why you sought me out?' anders nods.#'we'll take him. but you know- he may not survive the joining.' 'any chance is better than letting him die!' i think it would be kinda shitty and manipulative but i do wish you could recruit connor in inquisition

#he could be an agent if you ask me. they're tangential enough to thd game that him not being in your worldstate #wouldn't mess things up or anything. and i think it would add an interesting wrinkle to trespasser if you could have connor along #like with charter and the other inq representatives. basically i'd like yet another painful chapter in guerrin family history.#anyway I've decided this happened for max. he found out about the oculara on his first visit to redcliffe. then #packed all those feelings into a box and shoved them wayyy down deep. then turned around and recruited connor guerrin to a holy war.#the fact that almost half the map is in ferelden... and yet i always think hm da:i needed more ferelden #max 'helen of troy' trevelyan

#going into this game knowing it's a deep puzzle game where every little detail could matter : i gotta write Everything down #2 hours later : maybe i'm overthinking this maybe not everything is super relevant i'll just see #2 more hours later : i gotta write everything down and make a spreadsheet and draw a map and hire benoit blanc #christ how compelling this fucking thing is. i don't even know what specifically makes it scratch my brain so well but #ourgh #i don't want to say anything that could be a spoiler because it really is a game you must go in with 0 knowledge of it #but god... realizing that One element that's in basically every room had a common pattern #and having to solve a fucking riddle every time to find what the pattern is leading to #AND STILL NOT KNOWING WTF I'M MEANT TO DO WITH THE ANSWERS I GET OUT OF THEM GKFJFJDJD #i'm gonna gnaw my skin off #so anyway. it's a puzzle escape room-ish roguelike #you're in a mansion where YOU get to pick which room is behind every door you open #so it's your job to create the layout of the mansion and make sure you avoid being stuck with dead ends everywhere #you've got a limited amount of energy to explore. the rooms you can pick from when you reach a door are random.#you're gonna need to find keys you're gonna need to find coins you're gonna need to find gems #there's special rooms that have specific roles there's nothingburger hallways there's little minigames #there's items you can find that help you like a shovel or a hammer you can break chests open with #but anyway when you're out of energy or when you've nowhere left to go your run ends and everything in the mansion is reset #(except for very specific things you unlock which i won't detail)#so you basically start over Except with all the knowledge that you've gathered on your previous attempts #so maybe you found a password for something and then in the new run you find the thing the password unlocks #your main goal is to reach a very specific room at the other end of the mansion AND EVEN THEN #i haven't reached it myself but i imagine even if you manage to get there there's probably Something you need to do/have done #to really succeed like there is A LOT GOING ON #you're dropped in there no tutorial except little notes you find around the mansion no NPCs just you and your map #it's fucking brilliant if you're into puzzle games and mysteries and don't mind “slow” gameplay try it ouuuuut #it's still a bit RNG based what with being a roguelike but that's the thing innit #you keep going because you hope you'll eventually find all the right things in the right place for you to put together
