The Veil Nebula is a beautiful result of a supernova that occurred long ago in the past, where the expanding dhock wave from the supernova slammed into the surrounding interstellar gas, heating it up, exciting it and caused it to glow. Even now, the Veil is still ballooning outwards. The reason why the Veil Nebula looks the way it is is because we are viewing it edge-on. In this image, it is framed such that the Western Veil, also known as NGC6960, the “Finger of God” or the “Witch’s Broom” can be seen at the top part of the image, with the bright star 52 Cygni lighting the way. Below the dramatic and beautiful Western Veil is Pickering’s Triangle and the “Funnel”, much fainter patches of the Veil supernova remnant. The Pickering’s Triangle is a beautiful tangle of filaments and cavities that narrows to a small point, resembling a triangle with an extended point. Lastly there is NGC6974 and NGC6979 at the bottom left corner of the image. The Veil Nebula is a beautiful sight to behold in large telescopes visually with the aid of a filter such as a UHC or OIII filter, popping out with dimensionality and contrast. It is a target that benefits from long exposures and this image is made up of 10-minute subexposures totalling 3 hours. в те беззаботные времена он снимался в «Пустоголовых» / Airheads, пото�� был веселый опус «Ослеплённый желаниями» / Bedazzled с Хёрли 🔥 но прославился он благодаря франшизам «Мумия» и «Путешествие к центру Земли», но я так и не посмотрел с ним «Кит» / The Whale, за который он и получил статуэтку;

очень жаль, что пролетели «Банши Инишерина» / The Banshees of Inisherin, «Тихоня» / The Quiet Girl и «Треугольник печали» / Triangle of Sadness — все они были среди претендентов и мне понравились все три;

надо не забыть посмотреть «На Западном фронте без перемен» / Im Westen nichts Neues и «Тар» / Tár;

«Всё везде и сразу» / Everything Everywhere All at Once — совсем не понял с чего сколько шума, по мне это антикино, брр;

удивительно видеть среди номинантов туповатый боевик во славу военщины «Топ Ган»; а сложный, актуальный! и многослойный [почти шедевр] Iñárritu - Бардо / Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths в пролёте;

и максимально странно, что отличная корейская драма «Решение уйти» / Decision to Leave вообще не рассматривалась (да они там все не шарят похоже, вот это новость 👻);

кстати, и Джеймс Кэмерон и Том Круз проигнорировали эту вечеринку, хот�� «Аватар: Путь воды» стал самым кассовым фильмом 2022, собрав 2,29 млрд по миру и был среди номинантов на лучший фильм и даже получил статуэтку за эффекты (не было времени посмотреть его); не отстает по кассовым сборам и Top Gun: Maverick (собрал 1,49 млрд), но этот опус по-моему так себе.

Wow wow and more wows! It’s not the most detailed photo in the world but it’s incredible that I did this all on my own. I took some more OIII photos tonight to add to what I already had from the previous night. It becomes obvious that I have way more data in OIII by how strong that OII signal is compared to the HA signal but I am extremely pleased with this result Canon Rebel T3i

Regrann from @yat.sze - Magnitude 10.2 Hamburger Galaxy or Sarah's Galaxy is an unbarred spiral galaxy about 100,000 light years across that is part of the Leo Triplet, located at a distance of 35 million light years away in the constellations Leo. . The image shows a puffy galactic disk with a broad equatorial and obscuring band of dust spanning approximately 300,000 light years. . The Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex is a rather colourful deep sky object that can be found by looking at Antares in the night sky, the core of the Scorpius asterism, the heart of the scorpion, lighting the way with its beautiful reddish colour sparkling in the sky. Antares shown here as a bright yellow star in the yellowish portion of the complex. The complex itself lies some 460 light years away from Earth and is one of the nearest star forming region. M4 can be seen next to Antares and the beautiful dust lanes that can be seen converging to the colourful nebula shows a beautiful surprise at the left edge of the image, that of Jupiter, our beloved gas giant in our solar system. This was shot with a QHY294C with a Nikon 85mm f1.8D shot on an unknown aperture as I feel I may have nudged the aperture control while focusing 😅. The whole setup is mounted on a CEM25P and has a 50mm guidescope and zwo224mc guidecam. Shot with exposures of 180s.
