Thinking about these two

In the beginning of the land of Hylia, before Hyrule was officially established, there only remained the surface and the sacred realm. A group of powerful magic users tried to take control of the sacred realm, and soon they were banished to a realm that was untouched by light.

All except one, the leader of the interlopers

He was given a far harsher punishment, one to show that he could never be as powerful as the gods, and he was sent to walk in between dimensions, never to be seen or to interact with his world again. The years of him alone in nothing caused him to grow mad, and soon he slipped in a weak point in time, finding himself in a new dimension and fully changed into a deity.

Or a demon, being a more accurate description.

He wreaked havoc on the simple people, causing chaos as he laughed maniacally, not caring what any of the consequences were. People cried and begged for someone to save them, but their prayers were never answered due to the lack of gods and goddesses of the world. But one deity finally stepped up when he discovered the chaos the demon was creating. A deity so fiercely protective of those weaker than he that he faced the demon of chaos without hesitation.

A great battle ensued, with demon and deity fighting for weeks on end. One wanted chaos while the other wanted peace. Eventually, both were defeated, but not by each other, but by the sages, who sealed the two into masks in order to keep the world safe. All demons and deities that fought for power were imprisoned in masks, and they were hidden as to not awaken their power.

Soon stories of these masks were passed down through generations; stories of masks, the moon falling, and demons fighting for control. The stories were reduced to legend, with most not believing their tales, and the most famous one was the bloodiest tale of all.

The tale of the Fierce Deity and the Demon of Chaos: Majora.

Linktober Day 9

Deity

*sneezes after downing coffee* Well irl stuff got in the way so I'm way behind my original schedule for these and for Linktober but here we go with another arguably short one, fuelled purely by self indulgence, headcanons, spite against my linguist essays that kept me from keeping to schedule, severe sleep deprivation, a shout out to the Ender Lilies soundtrack and Majora's Mask soundtrack, and Nintendo for not clarifying anything about the lore so I'm snatching what I can and making it my own lol. Look, when you fíxate so much on details the Zelda team doesn't elaborate on you have to fill in the gaps with what you can.

As always can be read as romantic or platonic, technically in a LU context but not explicitly in it by itself.

The Lord of the Mountain liked hearing people sing.

In a way, it wasn’t a surprise, Hylia and the Golden Three each had their ballads and symphonies and minuets, each splendid and with cuts of their divinity in it, Farore was fond of lightning and forest alive minuets, and you could swear Farosh sparked just a bit brighter when one would him the beginnings of the Minuet of the Forest near their spring, Din was fond of boleros, fiery and alive and howling with the echo of flame touching earth that made a shine run through Dinraal’s scales, Nayru, in contrast, was much fonder of blizzard and river quiet serenades, the songs of contemplation at first snow ringing clear when Naydra curled around it’s spring, content to be free of Malice.

And of course Hylia had her ballads and lullabies, perfectly fitting to her display of divinity, of honey days and vast bird like wings, of ambered summers to come and to pass and dazzling solar storms of starlight and sunlight sparking through the human form of her descendants and heroes. So in a way, you weren’t surprised at all that the Lord of the Mountain – Satori, with a familiar touch of londsleite divinity, the hunt of the woodland beasts and diamondscar adoration for the Hero of the Wilds, similar in glory to the Light Spirits petrichor and vermeil fondness for the Hero of the Twilight – liked to listen to people sing. What you were surprised was how it attempted to follow along, it’s head across your lap the second you sat down in the clearing, a gentle hum on back of it’s throat, an owl’s cry and a cicada’s humming and faintly, chirring purring as presses it’s faces into your hands, a gentle request for petting.

It was adorable, even with the faint notes of the chill of clear spring water on winter and the livewire feeling of magic, like holding your hand too close to a flame but not quite touching it.

A low chuckle brushes against the back of your mind, a feeling like biting on ice, the prowl of a wild beast and the build up of lightning and light used to create his blade, the amused affection of a warrior reconvening with their brother in arms, you think you see the bone ivory of the Deity’s hair on the side of your vision, though you know he’s not physically there, ‘He likes you.’

You hum, gently patting behind it’s ears, pushing through the chill, gracefully not mentioning the burning with a smile at the mythic being’s faint chirring, birdsong and the wind through cherry blossoms that sparkle like rose quartz, “Well I quite like him too, I can see where it’s gentleness comes from.”

The ghost of a touch over your hair, the caress of lightning striking over your skin and the hair on the back of your neck pricking up and the crisp cold of winter, the chill of the ending and the flame of a new dawn, of new days, the phantom of magnolias and spring water on your tongue. The fragrance of pine, daffodils and blood soaked lilies on ashen fields on your senses, gentle and careful, marking but not claiming, ‘Only because it’s you, beloved. It’s not something easily given.’

You sigh, shakily composing yourself, you let yourself relax into the phantom sensation. Of hopes and dreams and healed suffering, of the divinity of hunt turned into protection and lightning given form, of tangled timelines and crystalized memories, “I know. It does not change my opinion, either way.”

To be the subject of a god’s care and regard was dangerous, after all. For the human and the deity in question, you know the stories from your world well, of the effects of Hylia on First and Sky, of Twilight and the personification of the Twilight Realm and the spirits of his land, of Wild and clawing from death’s embrace into that of the wilderness.

Knew how the fact the Fierce Deity’s mere proximity causing pain on those who changed him into hunting for hunt’s sake into protection for the sake of someone else cut deeper than even the ever encroaching entropy all beings must one day face. It was no wonder the Song of Healing was his creation, to want to ease the burden.

You gladly grant him some peace, in turn, even if it wasn’t much. It’s the least you can do, for always having his ways of watching over your heroes.

“Join me? We can make a duet.”

You feel more than see him shift, ephemeral, fleeting, gentle against the edges of your existence, as foreign to Hyrule as your own, sparking over your spine as you feel ozone and rust on your teeth. Satori is humming again to match the rumble of thunder in the man’s voice, the heralding of songs of war and elegies for the dead, ‘Of course, though I’m afraid I do not know many songs, besides…’

“It’s alright,”, you smile faintly, there’s a white ocarina in his hands, as he leans, a spectre against your side, “I’ll teach you some of my own, though you’ll have to forgive me if I don’t remember all the lyrics.”

‘It would be my honor to learn.’

You think he smiles, from the fluttering of something ancient and long forgotten against your side.

You sing to Satori and the Chain, a small respite of familiar and forgotten tunes, the Lord of the Mountain hums along. The Fierce Deity’s song cutting through any nightmares that may ail your heroes for another night.

When the dawn of a new day comes, the feeling of divinity against your skin feels just a bit more obvious, sinking into every crack of your being like a shroud, falling over your boys like a veil, reflecting the breath of eternity over Hyrule.

(First gives you a look that’s half exasperation, half understanding. Sky pointedly sticks to your side as Time looks you over, markings deep with vibrant color. You shrug with a helpless smile as you feel the lightest brushes of Hylia’s fond days of gold and starlit summers days against the Lord of the Mountains warm, luminous affection and the Fierce Deity’s smug, but content lonsdaleite smile.)

height head canons?

OOOO I think about this from time to time! I usually don't have exact heights in mind but more of like, who's taller or shorter than who, but I'll try to give actual numbers HAHSH

so starting with Karin, I headcanon her at around 5'2" maybe 5'3", but thanks to her heels it adds about an extra inch or two to her height.

Marina is slightly taller than Karin, about 5'4" but due to Karin's heels, they look about the same height or Marina even appearing to be the shorting one in some instances.

Levi is just an inch taller so like, 5'5", he probably should have been taller but this boy does not eat like he should so he didn't grow like he should.

Olivia is around 5'6" in my mind, but you can't really tell due to her being in her wheelchair, but if she was laying down next to someone you could tell. Similar to Levi, she probably could have been taller if it wasn't for her condition.

Daan is the shortest of the older men in the cast, at around 5'7", not rlly short but also not rlly tall either, pretty average.

Henryk is about 5'8", pretty average height for a pretty average guy (no shade I like Henryk)

Abella is 100% tall and strong, I'm thinking about 5'10" which for a woman now is considered above average, AND ESPECIALLY in the 1940s.

Samarie is also considered tall for the time period, girl is very lanky, but not as tall as Abella, probably closer to Daan's height at about 5'7" or so. Definitely several inches taller than Marina.

Tanaka gives me tall and thin vibes so he's about 5'11" or something. (or well, tall for the time period cause I think average height for men in the 1940s was around 5'8")

Pav is about a similar height, maybe an inch shorter so 5'10", but he's got way more muscle on him than Tanaka does, for obvious reasons. But his boots also give him a slight boost in height so him and Tanaka appear around the same height. If not for the boots he'd be the same height as Abella.

O'saa is probably about 5'8" or 5'9" ish, he's definitely not short in my brain that's for sure, somewhere around average height.

August is 5'9" MINIMUM in my head, I can't rlly explain it but he gives me like average height or taller vibes, has to look down at half of the other contestants.

Now Marcoh is a giant of a man, that's obvious, like I'm talking bare minimum of 6'3", which is tall now and is HUGE for back then. Man is the kindest soul around but goddamn is he built like a brick wall.

and ig I'll include caligura,,, ick. this slimeball is probably at around 5'7" maybe 5'8", he's pretty average height. until someone puts him six feet under.

I feel bad leaving you hangin anon so I’ll go ahead and ramble about all my aus and ocs involving Zelda!!

The main one is Link Between Links rn! It’s where all the Links in the current timeline (minus a few) meet up! The current story and characters can all be found here @linkbetweenlinksau . The story is that the Links are suddenly pulled into this world by a mysterious figure named the Puppeteer. I cant say too much since it’s an ongoing story currently but I’m in the middle of Chapter 3 in the comic! There’s a masterpost on the pinned post that you can go to to see important designs, nicknames, and tags! :) rn the oc I have here is the Puppeteer, who’s an original Zelda Villain! The Links are Sky (skyward sword), Minish (Minish Cap, Four Swords), Time (Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask), Legend (A Link to the Past, Oracle of ages/seasons, and Link’s Awakening), Totem (A Link Between Worlds and Triforce Heroes), Rift (Echoes of Wisdom), Hyrule (Zelda 1 and Adventure of Link), Twilight (Twilight Princess and maybe Link’s Crossbow training lol), Four (Four swords adventures (mostly the manga)), Windy (Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass), Spirit (Spirit Tracks), Age (Age of Calamity), Wild (Breath of the Wild (before Tears of the Kingdom)), and Wars (Hyrule Warriors). There’s a LOT XD

My other sort of ongoing project is The Curse of Demise, but it may or may not be going through a reboot rn so it’s on hiatus atm. You can read the story here at @thecurseofdemisecomic and it’s an original Zelda story! So new Link, new Zelda, and new characters! It’s where Ganondorf tries to hunt down Link, causing a huge monster raid that killed a lot of people, including Link’s parents. He’s trying to evade evil while trying to stop it! Rn the ocs that showed up is San who is Link’s uncle, grandma Maria who is Link’s grandma, Evann who is a Sheikah and Zelda’s body guard, Faodon who is Zelda’s father and the king of Hyrule, and Kyl and Mart who are guards at Kakariko!

My next big project I’m working on rn is Love at Twilight, which is a fanfiction that you can read here or on AO3 (registered users only). You’ll see a lot of twilight princess characters and my oc fan kid Kori apart of this! It’s where Midna returns with Kori who is her and Link’s son, and a mutated shadow beast wreaking havoc on Hyrule :) it might be reaching its end (which makes me wanna CRY) but rn it’s been updating every month!! :D I’m super proud of this project and if you look into it I hope you enjoy it ☺️ the ocs here are obviously Kori who is Link and Midna’s son, Rela who is Rusl and Uli’s daughter, Edmund who is Zelda’s husband, Amber who is Zelda and Edmund’s daughter, and that’s about it for now! There’s a lot to this story but that’s the simple bit! :) obviously if you go in the tags “love at twilight” you’ll find more info. I’ll be sure to tag everything below!

Next fanfic project is King of the Gerudo, which is Age of Calamity except with the story of Tears of the Kingdom! You can read it here on Tumblr or on AO3, and the updates are not as consistent but they’re still there! So yeah it’s totk but the champions, Rhoam, young Impa, Terrako and all the guys in Age of Calamity! Including Sooga and Kogha! It’s a sort of rewrite of totk as well but yeah! You’ll see my ocs Ammon and Orman who are Rhoam’s bodyguards, and Ammon is Link’s father! They are the more important ocs, I can’t remember if there’s others tho. So yeah! :D

The one you’ll see me talk about a lot is Strangers Across eras, which is kinda all over the place rn but I love it soooo so much. It ties to Link Between Links and its characters close to the Links that are involved. It’s a bit complicated but there are two teams: the dads and the non dads. I focus more on the dads cuz I’m dilf-sexual but almost all of them are already existing characters in Zelda. There’s Talon, who’s Time’s father-in-law, Benji, who’s Hyrule’s father and is an oc, Rusl, who is Twilight’s adoptive father, Leon, who is Four’s father and is from the FSA manga, Linebeck, who is Windy’s reluctant father figure, Ammon who is Age’s father (also Wild’s but he’s kinda dead in that timeline) and is also an oc, and Kass who is Wild’s sort of father figure! Those are all the dads and I pay attention to them more lol. You’ll have to go into the strangers across eras tag to see the stories I have, but I will eventually make a masterpost of them. But rn I’m just kinda doing whatever I want with them. Totally go ready my whumptober 2024 stuff cuz that is an important story for them and I’m also really proud of it 🥺 the non dad group I need to pay attention more to but it has Groose who is Sky’s best friend, grandpa smith who is Minish’s grandpa, Sir Raven who is Legend’s ancestor and is from the Oracle of Ages manga, Ravio who is Totem’s dark world counterpart, Lueburry who is kind of like a grandpa figure to Rift, Alfonzo who is Spirit’s mentor, and I’ve been debating on making Impa or Theo as Wars’s stranger cuz Impa fits the Zelda version better (from hw) but Theo was Wars’s father’s best friend so he’s close to Wars. He’s also an oc and is in the first chapter of lbl! Like I said, it’s complicated but those are the characters and it’s just a collection of stories I want to make :)

The strangers are Gaepora, Cloud’s father, Daltus, Pircori’s father and the king of Hyrule, Oot Impa, Oracle games Impa who I call Handmaiden, ALBW Impa, the king of Hyrule in eow, Zelda 1 and 2 Impa, Rusl (again, rip. Nebula adopted him as a father), Leon (again 😭 Lily ALSO adopted him as a father but she’ll never admit it), Linebeck (Tetra finds comfort in him that’s all!!!), Alfonzo (once again, a big brother figure to Phantom lol), King Rhoam who is Rune’s father, botw Impa, and hw Impa, who I call General. There’s not a lot to it cuz I only have 20 pages of the comic but there’s all the characters! Phew… that’s a lot.

And then I got a fanfic project I super want to do after love at twilight ends and that’s my four swords au! Which still needs a name 😔 it takes place after Four Swords Adventure and the main villain is Veran who wants to invade Hyrule. I’m playing with this idea that this Veran is actually the same from Oracle of Ages but before she turns all blue and whatever hehe. There’s not a lot of ocs, only Aveil who is Leon’s late wife and Chancellor Liam who is dollar store Chancellor Cole lol. You just have to go through the tag if you want to see more but keep an eye out when I start posting!! :)))

And some honorable mentions: The Hand of Farore which is the dark timeline of the Curse of Demise, but I haven’t touched the au in a while. The Link there I call Moon and he’s my baby. And then Demons of Termina is an idea about the beginnings of the Fierce Deity, but I haven’t done much for it. I have a lot of ocs and aus floating around too but for the sake of my sanity, I put down the main ones! Hope this isn’t confusing!
