So the dress is A-line, as with MOST my dresses to fit my non-existent waist. Lol. 😅 I realized my pear shape is strongly evident here.... lol.... Top size US14, pants US16. So yeaaa... in a country where most retailers stop at size 12 or 14... you can imagine my troubles🤨🤨... even for blouses because if the circumference around the bottom hem is not enough, it can't go down my hips. So Im relgated to A line dresses mostly, except that in a place where it's summer all year around, retailers almost always stock SLEEVELESS items... which I hate.😑😑😑 I'm conscious about my arms so I try to get with sleeves, but in my work I move around alot so its mostly uncomfortable with the sleeves being straight and tight. ... and so... the solution? MAKE MY OWN CLOTHES lol. I get to design it exactly to how I like, and tailor the fit to what I prefer. 😁😁😁 I generally still stick to A line silhoutte - because I like my clothes alittle roomy and easy to move around it with no restriction in seating, squatting, or any other ungainly and unwomanly action I may have to do at work (lol). 😅🤣✌✌ The main upside is I can fashion MY OWN SLEEVES!! Like hello big, voluminous bubble cocooning my arms 😍😍😍... like YESSS!! I don't get other folks who complain about sleeves being so fucking hot... I apparently have freezer body so the long sleeves doesn't bother me 🤣🤣🤣 In fact, I feel happier! I'm always in love with fairy-like things. Etheral. Graceful. Elegant. I'm probably not the best fit for a look like this, and my feelings come from societal norms, as per dicated for years in media. I mean... you ever seen a normie looking asian plus size girl on screen? No. Still, it doesn't stop my desire to try a design like such for myself. I found the fabric and fell in love with the vinelike embroidery with little pompoms scattered over. A fey theme beckoned me immediately. Despite saying so, I didn't want to make a costume... I hoped this would be a modern take on a dark Alice in wonderland. I always think it is hard to find a balance between wearable fashion and unique expression. I thirst to be a little different, perhaps because I have some skill to make my own clothes, so while I'm at it, I thought I might as well make a dress that isn't something one could just buy elsewhere. I wanted it to be distinct, with my voice, my touch, my thoughts, yet something that is still acceptable in public fashion. Having said that, I wonder if this appeals or resonates with anyone out there, because I'm seriously considering launching my own clothing line.
