Soooo, I've never been keen on doing a #VirtualRun, but getting a #BabyYoda medal/beer-opener made it worth jumping on the bandwagon 🏅🍻😁 Being that I'm a lunatic, I decided to make it interesting by doing a waterfall 5k/hike/jog 🏞🥾⛰ (we wont talk about how I nearly broke my ankle trying to move faster for a better time - not advised 😅🦶💥) Alsoooo, I incorporated a #ScavengerHunt ❗ I placed FIVE #WheresWaldo #PaintedRocks along the path to the waterfall. My most recent #PaintedRock is currently on display at the employee entrance of Mercy Hospital! Hopefully it gets a few smiles/laughs as folks make their way into work (also it was featured in today's hospital newsletter🗞). The rock will later be placed in the Healing Garden near the ED. Welcome back to the Scavenger Hunt you didn't know you signed up for!!! 😅🕺🏽🎉 Most recently I have placed #PaintedRocks along the #FourMileCreekGreenway & the #LittleSugarCreekGreenway 👨🏽‍🎨🎨🗿🖌 A few people DM'd me w/ inquiries rt my rock painting/distribution process, so my disclaimer is written below. It's lengthy, so feel free to pretend it's being narrated by Morgan Freeman. DISCLAIMER: As most of you are aware, I am a Registered Nurse/MSN, so I have a healthy respect/understanding of disease processes/transmission. All rocks are hand-painted (by yours truly) using clean technique in a clean environment. They are then disinfected & placed in ziplock bags (see pic 1 & 8). Upon putting the rocks out, I don a clean pair of gloves & mask. Why paint/hide rocks? Cuz it's fun! 🤷🏽‍♂️ & it adds a bit of levity to these tough times. Once the rocks are placed they are sometimes picked-up by a fellow Charlottean & then put back down. This being the case, it would be prudent to hit it w/ disinfectant if you intend to keep it. The paint is watercolor, so careful not to wipe it off. For distribution, I put 20+ lbs of rocks in my tactical backpack (see pic 1) & do a 1-3 mile loaded-carry #run (more like a saunter). Along the way I place the rocks in various spots (all are seeable from the main paths). This is a great way for me to get exercise & remain compliant w/ isolation guidelines. Several rocks have already been found, as I put them out Saturday for an unofficial #EasterEgg hunt. Many are still out there, so if you find one give me a 🗣📣 Oh, side note, I have NOT put the #WheresWaldo rock out yet. I am making a limited run of 8 & putting them out on my next scavenger hunt.
