Setting: Chastain Memorial Hospital

Chastain was buzzing with its usual symphony of beeping monitors, hurried footsteps, and slightly terrified interns. For Y/N Hawkins, it was a pretty normal day: rounds with Conrad, managing an intern who seemed to think WebMD counted as a second opinion, and dealing with her ever-growing cravings for anything salty and crunchy. Oh—and carrying a very active, bladder-punishing six-month-old fetus that liked to kick every time she paused to breathe.

Everything was fine. That is, until VIP guests arrived. Specialists. Researchers. “Prestigious partnerships,” Bell had said with his politician smile.

What Bell didn’t mention? One of them was Y/N’s ex.

And not just any ex. The ex. The one who dumped her right before med school interviews. The one who once told her he needed someone "less ambitious." The one now swaggering into Chastain like he owned the place, shaking hands, and—of course—locking eyes with her like no time had passed.

Immediately, Y/N turned on her heel and walked in the other direction.

The rest of the day was... chaotic. She avoided every meeting he was in, ducked into stairwells, fake-paged herself. Interns began whispering. Bell raised an eyebrow. Pravesh side-eyed her choice to eat three different vending machine snacks before noon. And Conrad—oh, he noticed.

Especially since Y/N started stress eating on top of her pregnancy cravings.

“Sweetheart, are you eating... barbecue chips dipped in pickles?” Conrad asked at one point, glancing at her plate with caution.

“Don’t question the genius,” she snapped through a mouthful.

Nic was the first to corner her in the staff lounge.

“You’re spiraling,” Nic said softly, arms crossed, concern all over her face.

Y/N sighed, hand on her bump. “One of the VIP guests is my ex.”

Nic blinked. “That guy?”

“Yes. The one with the smug face and the voice like a nasal TED Talk. He keeps trying to talk to me. And Conrad is having some testosterone-fueled dominance-off with him.”

Nic smirked. “So that’s why you’re on your third bag of chips.”

“I had to put on pants with an elastic waistband, Nic. Elastic. My pregnant ass can’t take this kind of stress!”

Nic, hiding her laugh, nodded. “I’ll talk to the troops. You just... keep eating those chips.”

Within the hour, Nic had recruited Dr. Kitt Voss, and the two of them orchestrated a very pointed intervention in front of the group—including Bell, AJ, Devon, Leela, Billie, Cade, and yes, the smug ex himself.

Voss turned to the group. “Tension is not conducive to hospital productivity or to the sanity of our very pregnant residents.”

Conrad opened his mouth to retort something snarky—likely at Y/N’s ex—but Y/N raised a hand mid-chew.

“Don’t. Just—don’t. I’ve held it in all day.”

Everyone turned to her, surprised.

Y/N stood up, holding her half-empty chip bag like a microphone. “This day was going fine until he showed up,” she pointed at her ex, who blinked, surprised. “Then suddenly I’m doing emotional dodgeball across the hospital while you two,” she looked between the men, “try to out-alpha each other like it’s Grey’s Anatomy. I haven’t peed in two hours because the minute I go near the VIP lounge, he’s there! And now I’m eating so much I’m going to literally waddle by third trimester!”

She paused, breathing hard, chip bag still in hand. “These pants weren’t my first choice, but I can’t even button my usual ones, so now we’re here—with an elastic waistband and a fashion disaster. And if anyone comments on my snack hoard again, I will cry.”

Silence.

Even Bell looked stunned.

Y/N pointed at her ex. “And you—don’t smile. You’ve caused enough trauma for a lifetime.”

She took one more bite of chips, looked around, and added calmly: “Now if you’ll excuse me, I need the bathroom. Dr. Hawkins’ baby is killing my bladder.”

She walked out. No one dared say a word.

Conrad found her fifteen minutes later in a rarely-used hallway alcove, where residents sometimes hid to cry or nap or sneak vending machine meals. Y/N was seated on the floor, munching on her chips again.

He sat beside her and gently took the bag from her hands.

“Hey—give those back,” she pouted.

He smiled, soft and apologetic. “I’m sorry. I didn’t realize how hard today would be. Your ex is... well, he’s a piece of work.”

Y/N sighed. “He really is. I just—I wanted one normal day, you know? One day where I could pretend I wasn’t waddling around with heartburn and cankles.”

Conrad leaned over and kissed her cheek. “You’re still the most beautiful woman in this hospital.”

She gave him a look. “Don’t flatter me. You’re just trying to distract me from my chip loss.”

He laughed. “Maybe. Were you joking about the elastic waistband?”

Y/N narrowed her eyes, then stood up and lifted her scrub top slightly to reveal her waistband.

“Does this look like a joke, Hawkins? I am one pickle-flavored Pringle away from exploding out of these pants.”

Conrad burst out laughing, pulled her back down beside him, and cupped her bump with one hand. “God, I love you.”

“I know,” she said, snuggling in. “Now give me back my chips.”

SPOILERS FOR NEWEST EPISODE! My thoughts:

I am so weirded out and disappointed by this episode. Why are we spying on our coworker who likes to swim naked in PRIVACY? And the fact he knew we'd come to see him so he wore a swimming trunk.. Amanda is literally the only sensible person, and I would've thought Devon would be more responsible, so weird how he is totally into this! HE'S OUR BOSS!! Why is everybody so excited to see their coworker naked? Everybody seems so out of character, I need to know what the hell the writers were on, because I have a feeling I'll need it to get me through the next future episodes. And it ended abruptly, AGAIN!! I'm spending 11 a month for the VIP pass just for this half-assed creepy fan service episode?? I miss when the episodes had actual story to it! If I wanted oneshots I'd go to JanitorAi and talk with the Thomas bots. I really hope the halloween event is good, also, I hate how fast everything is going. I want to be brought back to my candy love where It took so long to get close to Castiel! Or anyone for that matter! I'm starting to crave cute fluffy moments. Also, THE FACT THAT THE NEXT EPISODE SAYS WE'RE HAVING TEENAGE INTERNS? RIGHT AFTER THIS EPISODE?? Oh my god, hopefully the creepy shit stops here, in that case.

kinda #sad but i've completely given up on my candy love new gen,, i've played up to episode 3 and then i just... gave up lol. i'm legit coming back only for the events but feel so uninvested that most of the times i'm not even able to get everything which is super frustrating.

i really wanted to like this game bc beemoov's games have been such a huge part of my life!! and despite my frustrations i always loved those games!!

but having the MC being black only in appearance when i thought i'd be able to relate to her a little more; interactions with the LIs still as ridiculous as in CL and LL (pls someone tell me i was lied to and ysaline didn't actually throw up on jason EDIT: thanks for correcting me!! she did /not/ throw up on him, thanks god); having to pay to get full scenes even as VIPs already paying every month (just the fact that you have to pay point blank); personality system which doesn't amount to anything and none of the LIs personalities being truly interesting for /me/,,, was such a disappointment.

i truly didn't expect jason to be so cringe,, it feels like the only use they have for roy is having him half naked most of the time; amanda i would've never gone for bc i just — don't care for a rich white girl; devon's pretty petty and childish at times (same as jason imo to be fair) and thomas i guess is the only one i'm okay with. and it's only bc i feel like they did a 180 on his personality since HSL and the fact that they portray him as seeming autistic (in /my/ opinion!! not derogatory!!!) just make him straightforward enough for me not to be annoyed with him.

idk i guess we could say that it's bc it's supposed to be a game whose targets are ~teens, but considering that it's clear (imo) that their true targets are paying players (consumers) rather than F2P players,, then obv you'd think their targets are at least adults? but it doesn't feel like it considering how ridiculous the plot feels at times and how little depth they put into the characters. to be fair i felt that the same could be said for eldarya a new era, campus life and love life. i know they changed scenarists? (idk the word in english but the ppl that draft the stories/plot + the actual ppl who write the dialogues and branchings) but i just truly realised it while playing the few episodes i've played + the events.

i saw a lot of french ppl thought new gen was better than CL or LL tho so i will give it a shot at some point (+ i've actually spent money on the game lol, so might as well see it through), but i never thought i'd feel so sad and unmotivated to play one of their games after playing since 2011.

anyway this was just a lil rant of my personal feelings and why i haven't been active on here lately, pls don't attack me it only engages me!! and /my/ point of view!! not even talking abt chinomiko here bc as far as i know it's not like she can do much abt all of this besides providing a v basic draft of what should happen in the story (but do tell me if i'm wrong! nicely pls). truly no hate towards her!! i'm legit sad that she didn't continue her game beneath our scars bc it was so interesting and i was super excited to get a game of hers outside of potential directives again :( even if it probably will never be finished if i remember correctly there were two eps out so if you have a lil bit of time on your hands you should check it out!!

edit: just realised beneath our scars isn't available on the app store anymore :( but she seems to be working on a potential future new game with a sort of dungeons and dragons theme? so i'm super excited for that!! hope we'll be able to play it!! + only one ep was out actually (oops) but i was told you can play it on the website still!!

Episode 12 review (rant)

Episode 12 might be one of the worst episodes so far. if not the worst. at least episodes 8 and 10 were so ridiculous we got some type of content out of it. But his??? We spend 90% of the episode talking about fuck all and the 10% we get with our crush is extremely underwhelming considering the situation they're in. 

Jason found an unconscious Ysa on the ground after she texted him asking for help and this was still one of the most boring episodes. HOW DO YOU FUMBLE SO BADLY!? Yeah, him basically saying she changed his life and her asking him if he sees her as a burden (he doesn't) was a cute moment (and so were the blankets) but it's just not enough. Especially after the last episode. idk..Them not addressing the date from the last episode pissed me off. 

I see the blurred vision they have for their relationship BUT waiting (and paying if you’re a vip) for a month only to get one moment is soooo annoying.

And then we have Devon. Don't get me wrong, the illustration is beautiful BUT the special scene is painfully underwhelming (they just talk about ghosts, nothing about that scene feels special) And yeah, just like with Jason there is one short moment that's pushing their relationship forward. When Devon said he thought they were already really close and then they almost kiss BUTTTTT let me remind you that we had a similar scene in the last ep. At this point they almost kissed twice (And both times they would've kissed if something didn't interrupt them) How long are we going to rinse and repeat the exact same scenario? 

Anyway I am begging the fanfic writers to write this episode from Jaosn’s POV. Bro got a message from the girl he likes begging him to help her and then he found her unconscious, laying in mud in the middle of a forest. THE ANGST POTENTIAL

MCL New Gen ep 4 spoliers !

alright alright ! the new episode is out for VIPs, and just like the previous one I got to play Roy's route early, I'll play Thomas' once the ep releases for everyone !

so first we got to go to the Cosy Bear for potentially meet Castiel serving, but sadly we've arrived late and didn't get to actually meet him, we did get to see Lynn however, tho I understand how Castiel's fans must be disappointed, like I would have loved o see how mister rockstar deals with serving customers, it could be really funny !

then Lynn and Thomas have a small discussion and Thomas just casually told her he was in love with her in he past (I will not go into details about him because, again, I'll make another post about his route later) which led to the topic of romantic relationships. now there was a quick scene with Brune before going to the cafe about her relationship with Roy and the bet the night before, and honestly I was kinda worried about it with the way she approached us but it turns out she's not mad about the kiss, so that was a relief.

to go back at the cafe discussion we got to know each characters' relationship statues and, surely, we got to Roy and Brune's, and while I did expect them to not have an actual serious relationship, I was surprised by how honest they were about their true feelings, and I was ESPECIALLY surprised by the fact that THEY DID NOT EVEN KISS. so anyway they ended up breaking up in a calm and mature way, which I did no expect but honestly ? as uncomfortable as the whole thing was I'm glad it turned that way instead of being messy, however it seemed like both Thomas and Devon were pretty disappointed with the lack of drama which is hilarious.

now we get to Candy's relationship with her ex and we've got the choice to got into details or not, I've chosen the first option which raised my LOM with Roy and as much as I should have expected this I did NOT expect how nice our coworkers were, especially Roy and Devon ! first Roy saying that he hopes karma will get to our ex is the sweetest thing, I'm even more in love with him ! then Devon who says they will not make business with our ex-workplace which is so awesome from him, couldn't ask for a better boss than him !

then we see Jason and the topic of why he's our enemy is brought up and honestly ? I hate him even more... basically his company is just to spite the fact he was disqualified to the contest because... he cheated... and took the opportunity of working with the city hall so he could copy Devon's project... good job, dickhead, you've played yourself ! now I want even more to mess with his plans and drive him to ruin ! *insert maniacal laugh*. now about his past relationships is none of my business, he can have many conquests I don't care, I'm definitely not into him anyway. (anyway sorry for those who do like him, nothing against you, I just don' like him at all)

and FINALLY we get to the illus scene which in the case of Roy happens in the bus and wow, I do wish I was in the place of Candy there ! the way he holds us close to him so we wouldn't fall while potentially not thinking much about it just because he might think it's just normal I just... aaaaaahhhh I love him ! then we discuss more about our expectations in a relationship and it's clear he would be such a good partner, I wish I had one like him...

and here you go, many people may think nothing much happened but remember that we're still in an introduction state, this episode was clearly about learning the LIs' view on relationship, and from what I see on the preview it seems like the next episode might make things more serious in terms of story, so hold on, be patient, it could still be great !

like he has this whole thing about “promise you wont leave me?” and challenges devon to play a game in order to get his brother back. tbf it might just be a random character or one we haven’t been introduced to yet?

i mean VIP kinda seems like a bastardized version of helpy you feel me? like clearly helpy came after VIP because this is “early days” pizzaplex (monty has just been introduced, bonnie is still around and there is no daycare yet) but uhh idk

maybe i’m thinking way too much into this

also the “worst” ending is one that i don’t think any choices lead to, i think you might have to purposefully look through the entire book page by page to find it

or maybe i just didn’t choose the right path to get that ending but i honestly don’t know which one COULD lead to this ending cuz there’s just no opportunity for it to happen

Ok GUYS, I played episode 3 finally, and I want to share my opinions:

I went throught the routes of Amanda, Thomas and Jason, for the moment those 3 for me seem the most enjoyable.

Hot take, I hate the fact that in the VIP is included the access to the episodes faster than the rest. It's not just a question of money, but I really loved the experience and the hype we had when My Candy Love new episodes were dropping and everyone was trying so hard and discussing all together how to get the illustrations and commenting the scenes. Now if you do not get access to the VIP you get spoiled or if you have access to it, you play it but you still have to wait for the other half to play it and all the hype is gone. I wanted this experience to be shared at the unison.

I think I will stay off Tumblr for the next episodes, to avoid spoilerssss.

Anyways the episode was cute, nothing wow, but can't wait for sth to happen or to really start learning about the characters. I know the 1st episodes have the role to introduce you into the whole environment voila but I WANT THE DRAMA

For now my impressions are:

Amanda is super sweet, she is a cutiepie and I love how considerate she is for the people around her I will have her as a crush for one of the accounts. The scene in the park was....ok

Thomas is still a mistery, he seems like an interesting character and I really love his interactions with Candy. He can be so blunt in some situations that he is funny without trying. I liked the icecream scene and how chill he was if you go to the mall and meet Jason while you are with him. It's funny how shocked he is by Yslaines initiatives🥹

The fact that he is planning all his meals...hope candy will help him loosen up a bit.

AAAnd now Jason, I like his design but I don't think he is what I expected of him. He is a bit cringe and the kitten appelative is such an ick...And for 3 episodes their only discussion was "Omg Candy you are going DOWNNNN with your team...sorry "kitten"". hii everyone!! new gen is finally here uhull. I've already finished playing and I thought it was cool, the characters are SO beautiful, I liked Ysaline's clothes (what's that name) my biggest problems with the game were that it's pay to win EVERYTHING IS PAID, I don't know how much the VIP pass is in other countries but here it's R$40 (7.75$) and the interface is strange and heavy, my PC from the Mesoic era can't handle so much technology and information.

and for the ocs I don't have names for them but I HAVE COLORS AND THE CRUSHS!!! the first one with locks is like Jason (I'm afraid of what this route will be like with him but excited) she already works at Devon's company before the start of the game;

The second one with her hair tied up has a crush on Devon, she will take the place of the new candy, as she has just arrived from the company and is a newbie (maybe Devon's assistant and WITHOUT THE HISTORY OF GETTING THE BOSS MARRIED.) her main color is red more of a dark cherry;

This one with blonde and black hair has a crush on Tomas (I think) and she's idk new I just made her I don't have much of a story for her, her aesthetic is something a bit like Twilightcore and her main color is gray.
