Mr Bean Statue, Leicester Square, London 😁😁
This is part of a film and tv based sculpture trail. They have Mary Poppins, Paddington Bear, Wonder Woman, Batman, Harry Potter and many more. It's well worth a visit if you're ever in the area 😊

CHANEL PARIS
Tumblr media
This particular display at Chanel really caught my eye as it’s simply gift boxes and a couple model perfumes but yet still really effective and eye catching.
I like the colours and how the logo is incorporated throughout.

Photos of the sword display I had at last weekends excellent Auckland Blade and Knife show.
Was great to see meet with New Zealand's very talented knife makers showing off their work. Truly inspiring works of art.
For my display I opted to have a selection from the collection that covered a broad range instead of focusing on the one topic.

It was also my first use of the new boards I made after the last show. These are on their own stands giving me more table space.
Despite being a bit rough about the edges (remember folks, measure twice, cut once 🤣) they worked well. The next challenge is to improve on how the swords are mounted. Cable ties work great, but they're fiddly to pass through the cloth backing while trying to hold up a sword at the same time.
My thanks to The Auckland Blade Show for organising such a great event and for allowing me to participate. Shows like these are key to showing people just what is available and possible.

Stepping into History: Former Den'emon Ito Residence & Hina Doll Displays 🎎✨
Visiting the Former Den'emon Ito Residence was my top priority on this trip to Iizuka. Originally, I had hoped to visit the old theatre in town first, but unfortunately, it was temporarily closed for renovations. So, I made my way straight to the residence instead!
From Urata Station (the next stop after Shin-Iizuka Station), it was about a 30-minute walk to the location. But what a pleasant walk it was! The fields, the river, and the traditional houses lining some of the narrow alleys made for a beautiful, scenic route—especially with the sun shining down. ☀️🏡
The Hina Matsuri displays at the residence were absolutely stunning. The dolls were scattered across the main hall in elaborate setups, looking like scenes straight out of a film. It was a photographer’s dream—each display told a different story. Some dolls were strolling the streets, others were visiting food stalls, dancing, or even rowing a boat. The whole setup felt so lively, as if frozen in time.
That said, while I loved admiring the craftsmanship, I have to admit... staring at them for too long did give me a bit of an eerie feeling. 👀 There’s just something about those lifelike expressions that can feel a little unsettling after a while. But overall, the experience was fascinating, and I’m really glad I got to see it—like stepping into a beautifully eerie, miniature world frozen in time.

Tarzan was released on home video on February 1, 2000
I recently got this register topper display. The top "leaf" by the Tarzan logo is bent, but other than that it's in perfect condition!
