I guess you can think of it like a business?

You create a 'product' with enough quality and marketability that people 'buy in'.

So I draw (hopefully) good fanart of cute anime women (always in style), and now I'm at 12k follows.

If we wanted to be cold and detached about the joy of creating there's a lot we can consider.

NSFW/fanart/anime women is often more popular than SFW/OCs/men/ or landscapes

illustrations are more easily digestible compared to music or writing

personality is also a 'product' so you can't just create, you 'yourself' must to be marketable in some way too so make sure to open a discord and reply to every comment and give every bikini girl you draw an alluring caption and..

wow this is getting complicated and sad actually maybe just make what you're into and focus on that.
