THEIR LIFE STORY

TRIGGER WARNING: minor mentions of verbal and physical abuse. Dylan has never spent a moment of his life alone. Two minutes and forty-eight seconds before he came into the world, his twin sister was born. Growing up with a twin was like growing up with your best friend, at least that’s what it felt like for Dylan. Amalia was his best friend, and he was her’s. They had each other’s backs. It seemed necessary when all their parents seemed to do was argue. They tried to hide their fights from the prying eyes of their children, but as the years went by, and another daughter was born into the family, the fighting only got worse. Dylan’s parents were always so loving towards him and his sisters, just never towards each other. There was never any physical violence, only verbal. Until Dylan got older anyway.

Boxing became a part of Dylan’s life when he was only seven. Him, Amalia, and their uncle would get on the bus to Manchester and he would teach them both how to box in the Sports Centre. Their uncle, on their mother’s side, had been a professional boxer for ten years before his retirement. He started training his nieces and nephew as a way to get them out of the house whenever their parents were arguing again. Dylan was a pro. As he got older the better he got. His sisters trained less and less as they got older, Dylan only trained more. He started entering competitions when he was fourteen. He won one match after another. He was on the road to being something great. He could hardly imagine that he could have a career in something he loved so much. It gave him confidence. When he was in the ring he felt like he could be a hero.

Dylan never felt like he had to try too hard at schoolwork. It had nothing to do with what he wanted to do. Once he finished school with okay-ish final grades he went on to do a BTEC in Sports Science in college, after that he went into training full-time. Dylan had been a shy kid in primary school, his sister always being the loud-mouth. Dylan shot to popularity in secondary school. More like his sister dragged him along. Him and Amalia shared a group of friends. She always had a way of getting into trouble, and Dylan had a way of getting her out of it. But it was always fun with them, even if he never drank because of his training. When Dylan was with his friends he wasn’t at home with his parents, which is all he wanted. One night when Dylan was seventeen, him and Amalia were coming back from a night out with their friends when they heard their parents arguing again. No surprise there. They were on their way to their rooms, to check on their youngest sister when Dylan saw his father go to hit his mother. He doesn’t know how he did it, but he was across the room in a flash and holding his father’s arm back. For the first time in his life, Dylan stood up to his father. He told him to leave and he did. Things seemed to get a little bit better after that. Dylan would protect his family and loved ones with his life.

Dylan was on his way to being a great boxer. It only took one night to derail everything. It was his nineteenth birthday, one of the few times he permitted himself to drink. All his friends were there, his sister, his girlfriend of two years. Dylan had met Kimberly in college and the had started dating almost instantly, she’s the love of his life so far. Back to the night of his nineteenth… Amalia had found herself in trouble again. Some boy wouldn’t leave her alone. Dylan was known to get into fights whenever somebody was bothering his friends, this time would prove to be no different except for the conclusion. Dylan won all his fights, he hadn’t lost in or out of the ring in years. This time was different. The guy bothering Amalia beat him to a pulp, he ended up in hospital. It left him scarred. He couldn’t fight the same way after that. He lost again and again. He had to rethink things. Perhaps starting with university.

Lebensmittel-Zertifikate gewährleisten Qualität: Vegan & Bio

Auf welchen Adventskalender 🎅🎄 freust du dich dieses Jahr? Ich bin gespannt auf die vielen veganen Leckereien 🍫🍬 in meinem dmBio-Kalender, der mir schon jetzt neue Geschmackserlebnisse verspricht. Davon ist auszugehen, denn die hochwertige Qualität der Naschereien wird gleich durch drei Siegel bestätigt. 1. Das VEGAN-Zertifikat bzw. V-Label sorgt für Klarheit & Transparenz bei veganen & vegetarischen Produkten. Eine zuverlässige Kennzeichnung veganer Ware nach einheitlichen Kriterien ist gewährleistet & regelmäßige Kontrollen durch ein unabhängiges Labor stellen deren Einhaltung sicher. Die Kriterien lauten: Verpflichtung der Hersteller zur Qualitätssicherung, jährliche Produktkontrollen am Produktionsort, keine genetisch veränderten Organismen, Überprüfung der verwendeten Inhalts- & Hilfsstoffe, keine Tierversuche am Endprodukt. 2. Das EU-Bio-Logo (Blatt auf grünem Hintergrund) kennzeichnet seit dem 1. Juli 2020 verpflichtend vorverpackte Lebensmittel, welche die strengen Normen der EU-Rechtsvorschriften für ökologischen Landbau erfüllen müssen. Es steht für Sicherheit & genaue Kontrollen: Bio-Betriebe führen über alle Betriebsmittel & Erzeugnisse genau Buch. Kontrollstellen überprüfen das Unternehmen mindestens einmal jährlich & entnehmen Stichproben. Bio-Lebensmittel lassen sich bis zum Hersteller zurückverfolgen. 3. Das deutsche sechseckige Bio-Siegel existiert seit 2001, dessen Rechtsgrundlage das Öko-Kennzeichnungsgesetz ist & das den Zweck hatte, den Bio-Markt in Deutschland schneller zu erschließen. Es richtet sich nach den EU-Rechtsvorschriften für den ökologischen Landbau. Grundsätzlich gilt: Bis auf 5 % müssen alle Zutaten aus ökologischem Landbau stammen, alle entlang der Produktionskette beteiligten Unternehmen erfüllen die Rechtsvorschriften für ökologischen Landbau & die Produkte müssen mit einer Codenummer der zuständigen Öko-Kontrollstelle versehen werden.
