 i adore both versions of this song, i love that they really compliment and tease each other in the song, it really speaks a lot about their relationships as members and as friends. and i think the really electronic track definitely leans to a 2nd gen sound thats so true!

limbo: it feels like the song is much shorter than it actually is even though it is 3 minutes but that is maybe the turmoil and emotions i went through while listening to this song idk. limbo makes me think of like someone going through the memories of their ex in their head and the more they keep going through the memories, the more the memories fade or wear off over time because of how often it is looked back on and you know how people say our memories are not reliable because we can remember things differently from what actually happened. they know they should move forward but they are stuck in limbo as looking back is the only way to see them again 😔

doodle: is that song where you can imagine in an underground club where all the cool, alternative kids hang out and give each other tattoos or something idk i was never cool. or alternatively, it gives me the vibes of changbin standing in the middle of like cars circling around him while he is rapping and there's fire burning around somewhere to show how fire he is. maybe some monster trucks thrown in here and there, dmx tricks somewhere. 10 out of 10 nobody will ever be cooler than changbin ever, confirmed.

doodle is exactly what i expected from changbin, it goes hard and fast the entire song and something about the way he says doodle really tickles my ear in the best way!

alien: to be very honest, i had only listen to alien once it first came out and i know, i know, it sounds like blasphemy for me to say that but i guess i was not in the right mind and mood to properly listen to it and i did not want those factors to spoil my actual feelings on the song. now that i am listening back to this, i can better appreciate him having made this song, a song that many of us have related to but still holding for a brighter tomorrow

because: the song that is like the embodiment of a warm hug, hot chocolate and reassurances. especially remembering how this song came out around the time we had our hyunjin drought? this makes the song all the more special and sweet to me. to get a song with just changbin and felix on it, especially hearing them sing? we are blessed and spoiled by them, really. 

i think because perfectly sums up changlix and how soft they are together and toward each other! they’ve always has a particularly cute bond since the beginning and i think this song really suits them. and like u said its really like a soft hug

piece of a puzzle: now this, this is the song when i heard the snippet of it during that variety they did that is slipping my mind at the moment and 3racha was at chan's room working on this and up all night- ANYWAYS. sure the song got released on youtube but it's not the SAME as compared to being able to save it on spotify and experience the song completely. even though the lyrics are rather sad, in a way, it oddly comforts me.

to me this song sounds so much like its supposed to be an ost, something about the emotion of it really just feels like it should be playing in the background of important moments, and i agree being able to hear it crisp really amplifies just how amazing it is

wish you back: it is at this song that i had the realisation yet again for han's passion for music for not only the genres he explores but also how he has the most songs on this album as he is constantly working on music. music really does make him happy huh. we can always appreciate the interesting ways the boys are able to mix genres and even right now, the best i can think of is acoustic guitar tropical dance hall for this song? only these boys. 

HaPpY: if you were beautiful or letting go by day6 had an angsty but somehow chill lofi hip hop younger sibling, it would be this song. you can always depend on han to have generally upbeat sounding songs and then having lyrics that are the complete contrast to them. he really has us guessing his next move every single time and not knowing what to expect.

i think something about jisungs writing style is just so perfect, i always find myself drawn to the songs he writes the most. his solo things and the songs for their albums. he seems to be able to hit the nerve of hopeful melancholy so perfectly. i think he really knows how to embody the feeling of being someone in their 20′s trying to navigate their life and emotional changes

The Universality of Hip hop The struggle is not owned by one group of people. Yet, there are so many who remain voiceless, ignored, and overlooked. Music has been a means to carry the message, awaken, and revolutionize. What makes it so impactful is that some of its most prominent messengers have lived the struggle. Their survival, success, and ability to package that lyrically are essentially hip hop's heart. What they represent is hope. DMX rose from his childhood horrors and struggle with abuse to become one of the signature voices in hip hop. Mary J. Blige, who has often expounded on her tumultuous childhood, has risen to the status of queendom in R&B and hip hop. 50 Cent beat the odds stacked against him to not only become a successful rap artist but to build a universe in the television industry. And Nicki Minaj overcame her childhood tragedies to become one of the most recognized commercial female rap artists in history. While it wasn't expected of any of them, they did it. As a result, they are the embodiment of hip hop, earning their spotlight. DMX: Defined Voice of Hip Hop   DMX more than solidified his presence in the annals of hip-hop history. He was unmistakably one of the most recognized figures in hip-hop, known for his raw individuality. He stood out. However, he had to overcome a great deal to achieve what he accomplished. He didn't one day wake up a success. He often relayed through various interviews when he was alive that his path to success was nothing short of hell. But he braved the fires and consistently battled his demons to make it. Life Ain't Easy DMX was born Earl Simmons in 1970. At an early age, his mother moved him and his sister to the projects in Yonkers, New York. According to hip-hop scriptures, DMX spent much of his youth in and out of juvenile facilities and group homes. At 14 years of age, DMX had his first experience with drugs which would become an addiction he would grapple with his entire life. Horrifyingly, someone X trusted introduced him to the demon that would follow him. Without his knowledge, a mentor gave DMX a crack-laced joint. X said this in an interview with Billboard before his passing. "I later found out that he laced the blunt with crack… Why would you do that to a child? He was like 30 and he knew I looked up to him." Although a sad and tragic event shaped most of X's life, it didn't define who he would become. DMX went on to rise above his past. 1998 when DMX signed with Def Jam, it changed his life. His first two albums were enormous successes. According to Forbes, "In 1998 his first album went quintuple platinum. Later that year, his second album went quadruple platinum." He was on his way up. And nothing stopped him from securing the success he worked for, and history will forever tell his story. X was one of the first hip-hop artists to have five number one albums in a row, demonstrating what could be possible, how one could turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones. She was the voice of all the sisters. as she progressed through life, so did they. And what connected them was her voice." Now, after 16 albums, multiple awards, and stints in film and television, Mary is still showing the way, demonstrating life is a work in process. She understands the struggle because she's been there. She's successful because she's still pushing. When covering the press circuit about her release "Good Morning Gorgeous," this is what Mary had to say to The Source, " was something I had to do, and something I had to say when I was in my darkest moments in that life, to build myself up to this person that I can see and accept. In 2014 he was named as one of the wealthiest figures in Hip-hop. According to Fame Focus, Fifty had a net worth estimated at $140 million at the time. Nevertheless, his success didn't come overnight. The enterprising mogul overcame unbelievable odds to get where he is today. Jackson's mother was a drug dealer and lost her life in a fire when Jackson was only eight. His grandparents then raised him. However, not even his troubled beginnings could hold him down. Like the ever-present message of struggle in hip-hop, Jackson faced the fire, his troubles, and his demons. In 2021 the mogul shared the success of his program focused on nourishing the entrepreneurial spirit in the youth. According to AllHipHop, his program boasted an 88% success rate. That is undoubtedly worth spotlighting. Nicki Minaj: Superstar Ascension Nicki Minaj has carved out a name for herself in the industry as one of the most well-known and successful female commercial artists. According to Failure Before Success, Minaj is one of the wealthiest female rap artists to date. Regardless, Minaj's success wasn't easy. Minaj was born in 1982 as Onika Tanya Maraj. Nicki was one of four children. She spent her early childhood with her grandmother but eventually moved with her mother at five. According to Failure before Success, Nicki's father, who was a financial executive, also had a violent streak and reportedly struggled with alcohol and drug abuse. One particularly horrifying life-altering memory is of her father. UDP compatibility within Visual Productions lighting and show controller products

Introduction, about UDP

Many protocols are supported by Visual Productions lighting and show controllers and control interfaces. These include SMPTE, MTC and Art-Net for timecode, contact closures and 1-10V signals for GPI, NTP for clock synchronisation, and even RS232 as a legacy computer protocol. And let's not forget DMX, Art-net, sACN and KiNET as the lighting control protocols supported.

Let's have a closer look at the integration and applications of the UDP network protocol. The User Datagram Protocol is a being used in many multi media installations because it is suitable for fast data transfer and because it offers a short response time.

BrightSign, a UDP compatible device

In this topic we focus on compatibility with BrightSign, the bright blue digital signage media player which is UDP compatible: it is capable of sending UDP messages based on the timeline of a video being played, and capable of  receiving input signals such as a press on a touch screen, activating a contact closure, etc. It is also capable of receiving UDP messages upon which it can perform certain tasks, such as jumping to a specific video (track) or a specific moment in a video (video time).

When UDP communication is required, BrightSign media players need to be programmed using BrightSign Author authoring software. The software allows you to import content, create layouts, synchronise multiple media players in one installation, publish content to the network, and to set all player and network parameters.

This topic describes a system setup for both using a BrightSign media player as a source, controlling a  UDP compatible Visual Productions lighting controller, and as a slave, responding to incoming UDP messages sent by a Visual Productions control interface.

Controlling a CueCore2/QuadCore

This example explains how to synchronise lights with video with in a simple way. It uses any model BrightSign media player and a CueCore2 or QuadCore ('Core') lighting controller.

Play your video on a computer and use a media player which shows you the timecode (actually, it isn't the 'official' timecode but just video time). Determine at which positions (video time) you want to change the lights into different colours: create a table with video time and the corresponding lighting colour;

Now, using Bright Author, create a script for your BrightSign media player that includes a list with video times and a unique UDP message that defines each colour to be recalled by the Core;

In the Core, create Tracks with all static colours, then create a Playback Cue list containing all Tracks. If required, set a fade time to prevent from instant colour changes when playing your video;

In Core Show Control, create a UDP Action list, create an Action and edit this action: set the Trigger Value to (or learn) the UDP message that you defined in your table and add a Task that either Jumps to a cue (Playback/Track) or uses the Go+ command to advance to the next cue in the Playback Cue list.

Controlling a Brightsign media player

This example shows how to start videos stored on a BrightSign media player using Visual Productions Kiosc personalised touch screen interface.

In BrightSign Bright Author, create a script where each video stored on the media player is linked to an incoming UDP message (the start trigger). Define what needs to happen if a UDP message is received, for example 'Stop all videos and start video A'. After that, publish the script to the media player;

To create a custom user interface, use Kiosc Editor. Now when you have created buttons on your custom user interface, you need to define the UDP messages that wil trigger the file within the BrightSign media player. This is done in the Tags UDP field.

Considering you have stored your new Kiosc layout on your tablet, you need to either input or learn the UDP tags to trigger a task in the Core's Show Control. A task could be ‘start a playback’ for example.

When pressing a Kiosc button on your tablet, the corresponding video will start playing.

More applications

Any device that is UDP compatible can control or can be controlled by Visual Productions' lighting and show controllers. Other examples are control systems like Crestron, Extron and AMX which can integrate DMX lighting control in an affordable way, and large screen video projectors where UDP can be used to switch on/off or select inputs. Because of the Core's flexible Show Control functionality, sending UDP messages can be combined with sending other signals and messages simultaneously. Think of switching on a projector, selecting the correct input and at the same time dim the lights closest to the projection screen. Or imagine a Building Management System sending a UDP message that turns on all lights at 100% and at the same time activating a relay that opens all sliding doors in an emergency situation.

Apart from our Cores, the affordable LPU-2 is UDP compatible as well, although in a more limited way: it only accepts incoming UDP messages which are predefined as described in the Application Programming Interface.  This API can be found in the Cuety/LPU user manual. Remember programming of your lighting fixtures (the cues and playbacks) still needs to be done using the Cuety app, available for iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux.
