Togame Jo - If it's you, he lets you talk for hours. Anyone else, he prefers to keep it short and sweet. Choji'll start listening in and ends up putting you on speaker when they're at the Ori, but he gets embarrassed if Choji bring up the name he has for you in his phone. It's either some cutesy form of your name or a nickname like bunny or babe with emojis. "Togame why do you have hearts and sparkles on her name? Mine isn't like that! I'm adding some to mine too." Choji Tomiyama - Loses his phone so much Togame has to search for it on Find My Friends at least once a day. But then once he finds it and realizes he missed your calls/texts he gets super pouty because he could've been bringing you with him on his daily adventures via call. Calls you back immediately even if it's past normal waking hours which has you like

Once you actually get him on the phone though, he'll talk your ear off until he gets the urge to see you. Then he's just walking to your house without telling you he's coming to get you, all while you chat on the phone. "Hey can you open the window? I'm on the second floor gutter and it's gonna fall soon." Bro.

Tsubaki Tasuku - Another chatter. Keeps it near two hours though cause his schedule is usually hectic. Sends you texts very frequently though. Insists on showing off how cute you both are on SNS and they're professional level photography (courtesy of Seiryu.) Actually a lot bolder with her affections on the phone, often making you flustered. You guys have matching charms on each other's phones too.

Kaji Ren - Although he likes the sound of your voice, like Hiragi, he wants to hear it in person rather than on the phone. Insists he's coming to pick you up right now because it's not like he's doing anything more important than spending time with you (doesnt matter what time you call him either. If you have a nightmare or something in the middle of the night, he's already at your back door.)  Has one (1) heart next to your contact name, but if anyone comments on it he flushes and gets aggro like immediately.

Endo Yamato - I shiver thinking about being able to talk to this guy on the phone. He somehow knows what you're doing when you call him despite you not even telling him yet. His ears just happen to be really good, and if he's honest about it, he kinda finds you predictable (not a bad thing, it's just how he is.) Matches your energy while texting, and he really likes when you send him pictures of your day. He doesn't seem like the type to be on the phone for more than 30 minutes to an hour.

Chika Takiishi - He lets you chat for hours, but doesn't really respond much unless prompted. Forgets you cant see that he's nodding at what your saying, which is really kinda silly to see from his end. If he's gotta do something that he can't use his phone during, he'll leave the phone with Endo while you keep talking.

Tachibana Kotoha - Loves to chat just like Ume. She'll usually put wireless headphones in so she can multi-task better during calls. Sends shopping links back and forth with you, pretty much window shopping but also getting inspo for new outfits. She's got the customer service voice down and accidentally answers your calls with it sometimes which is pretty funny. Uses more exclamation points than you'd think she does in text. Her limit is probably 2, 3 hours max (She's a busy girl.)

Suzuri Shuhei - Really likes talking on the phone and thinks things get kinda lost in translation during text. Types messages to you like he's writing a book sometimes, and other times it's like "K. Ok. Yeah." Sir just text that you're at work or gaming rn we CAN wait till later usually. Starts pretty much every call by asking what you did for the whole day, and then follows it up with his day as well. It's kinda domestic to him to end the day like that. Max is probably 2 hours but he can do more than one call a day sooo.

Sako Kota - When he's not sending you instagram worthy pictures of the cute desserts or drinks he's getting, he's calling you and asking what you want from the place he's at. Brings you anything you want, whether you're at work, school, or home if you don't or can't go with him. He doesn't wanna be on the phone for more than half an hour, but he also calls multiple times a day even if it's just a quick question about something you were talking about earlier. He doesn't know, but when you call he visibly perks up and everyone can tell it's you despite him keeping his regular tone of voice.

[keep anon] the thing about salems designs and art is that is honestly doesnt matter what he likes or what he does with his characters- hundreds of artists out there draw flat sexualized characters mostly meant for pinups and porn and they aren't really evil for it (even if i do think them quiet boring) salem just does a narrow, penis-in-vagina t4t version of that. he has to scribble labels all over it because despite all his posting about unconventionally attractive furries he does- at the end of the day- draw pretty conventionally attractive trans furries with only the slightest hints of 'bad' features. His girl mustaches are forgettable little lines on the snout and happy trails that barely read as such on furries, or stretch marks that are such pitifully faded lines that most people won't even notice them. The most defined 'unconventional' trait is their weight, which salem constantly points out and completely shys away from depicting the less common traits like fat necks. Basically the only bar hes clearing on that department is he doesnt quiet draw snatched waist anime girls and call them fat. Its pinups and porn of honestly quiet normally attractive, sometimes fat trans people where almost every single piece includes a "im a (fat) trans person! we can be sexy too!" on it.

this doesn't matter. its not really important. His art is sloppy- it looks really good on first pass because hes good at filters and coloring but if youre looking for mistakes you'll find them easily. He constantly goes 'it takes me 6 hours or a day to do art and thats sooooo hard' even though thats completely normal, expected even- hes just brainpoisoned from being puppychan and posting 4 'finished pieces' within 10 minutes of each other. You can tell her doesn't put… that much effort (in terms of things like research, sketch planning, and cleanup) into a lot of the non-key parts of making a piece if you know art but like. thats not a sin.

the problem. the problem is the same one that puppychan had and he still has because he actually hasn't grown up and learned anything- is that he never stops fucking trying to advertise this all as incredibly niche and brave representation. everythings representation. Im drawing nonpassing transgirl cock representation. fat transboy nonbinding big breast representation. fibromyalgia representation. bottom surgery representation. Everythings representation- but if its not representation hes personally interested it just fucking /stops/. fibromyalgia representation begins and ends at some text about pain and drawing canes that don't really match the character. bottom surgery representation begins and ends with saying a character has it, but never drawing them in any way that would actually imply it (and stopping drawing them immediately) its all representation but its clear he doesn't actually want to think to much about past a quick google search. and frankly, i wouldnt even judge flat 'representation' if he didn't fucking brag about it every second of the day. about how brave and seen people must feel, now that he said this dog was intersex, or this one has bottom surgery, this is a girl with facial hair represented with 2 lines. im breaking new ground!

And even this- wouldnt get me so much if i didnt fucking remember puppychan. puppychan constantly fucking did this, and it was transparently obvious that when puppychan did it was mostly because representation sells. puppychan did care about it on some level, hell magna and tammy have been around ages- but puppychan also did this fucking 'im doing representation, its sooo important' (i will analyze each character and remove or keep the most popular ones) in a way it was kinda obvious saying it was all about getting people to go 'its representation!' or 'theyre like me :)" without caring even remotely about what those mean. so in the end, looking at all this representation that begins and ends with a tumblr reblog and immediately forgetting the details after the first google search… i know its mostly all shallow ass shit. its bait for the people who are either on the lookout or desperate. about the discourse going on in the tag abt "death note is acab and thats why the characters couldnt better the world with the note (/written in somewhat jokey matter)" vs "death note is trying to say we all have potential for evil, especially if you get a chance to insta-hurt ppl without repercussions, and it doesnt matter if youre a cop or not", i personally feel like it ignores the things that i like abt death note, which is "both of these things are true", and simultaneously "both of these things do not matter". the first part of this is dedicated to the first point, the latter to the last.

first point. i think its an important part of the message and themes (unintentional or not, and i lean on the former because... come on, can you really say the author intended you to not think of the cops as good people, at least compared to light and l) that light is a cops son, and that almost everyone who gets the death note is cop adjacent/thinks like a cop and is already corrupt/powerful when they get it (mello raised to think hed be just like l, yotsuba group is self explanatory; you cannot look me in the eyes and tell me teru "churchill" mikami, who was hand selected by light out of a bunch of rabid kira supporters, is a normal citizen). i appreciated the cop post bc its rlly important to not gloss over that aspect.

all of this would be an argument for "only someone like them would do something like this, and i am not like them, so im above them and immune to thinking about what id do with it", but... misa is the MOST important outlier in all of this bc her murders are solely selfish in nature and shes not doing any of this for "the greater good"!!! her nature of being an exception and still a very very bad person is really really important...

or it would be if death note gave a shit about her character at all!!! im not talking about her tragic side, im talking about exploring the ramifications of her killing people the way lights murders are (somewhat) explored. that would strengthen the message greatly! but shes dismissed and that weakens it overall. firstly, she's dismissed by the characters when l only sees her as a way to get to kira and basically shelves her the rest of the time. secondly, shes dismissed by the narrative when her character is gradually ground down to a stump and (not to sound perilously close to the bad takes ppl meme about) she never faces repercussions for her actions. every other character using the death note is treated relatively seriously, but misa just dies bc her love is dead. im not saying this isnt a... fitting punishment or that it isnt in character, but it doesnt fit snugly into the theme other people are talking about of "you reap what you sow" at all.

we do have something of an equivalent to misa's grayscale motives. surprise surprise, its light yagami. first is light's characterization in the musical (i will also note that misa never kills anyone in the musical). light's thinking is coplike, yes — he literally starts his first song by talking about "throw[ing] away the key" — but also, oddly enough, could be read as progressive and therefore sympathetic to tumblr ("let the corporations make the regulations / and hold no one accountable when everything gets wrong / let the rich and famous get away with murder / every time a high-priced mouthpiece starts to talk, his client gets to walk"). compare to the anime and manga, where his bigotry and pride and disgust come from a place of lukewarm dissatisfaction and boredom. the musical has much less time to play around with lights character, so it gives the audience something to immediately hook on. more on how that actually plays out later.

in the animanga, none of this is justified from the start. animanga light could say he was just killing people to make humanity way, way worse, and that wouldnt matter, because at the root of it, it was always his boredom that made him pick up the note. of course he actually believes in justice and believes hes doing the right thing (no, he believes he's doing the wrong thing, for the sake of the world... the right thing, because he is god...), but it was boredom at the start. all animanga light says about justice and righteousness and the law is a front in the end, bc he is exactly like l and misa — amoral. selfish. searching for entertainment. hedonistic. we know this. he kills naomi misora*. he kills lind l. turner. everything hes saying deserves to be dismissed from the beginning.

"but doesnt that mean you agree with the discourse post you wrote this post to argue against?" like i said, i agree with both of them! but i... still think its not right to reduce death note to the message of "the power to kill people is bad". because that is not exactly what the story is saying, even though that's literally its whole plot and therefore reaching that conclusion is self explanatory (lmao). let's look at the concept of mu. nothingness. "there's no heaven or hell". The Real Slay The Princess (Death Note Essay) Starts Here.

in light's final moments in the death note manga, while screaming about not wanting to die, he remembers that the first day they met, ryuk told light that "there's no heaven or hell. no matter what they do in life, all people go to the same place. all humans are equal in death". it is retroactively revealed that light knew this the whole time, operated under this knowledge for all the years we watched him — the knowledge that nothing he does is actually bad, that nothing any human does is actually bad, that shinigami are not "evil", that the universe does not care. that no one cares except humans. this oblivion absolutely terrifies him more than anything anyone could ever do to him. its what he thinks of before anything else as he flails there, screaming, dying. one could say everything he does after that day is him trying to escape that fact, or wrest control over it. but it doesnt work.

here are the lyrics of requiem, the musical's final song, sung over the bodies of l and musical light, a light who was at least somewhat good-intentioned at first: "sleep now, here among your choices / then fade away / hear how the world rejoices / shades of gray / gone who was right or wrong / who was weak or strong / nothing left to learn". this is the final message the death note musical and the manga chose to leave us with. there is no judgement. even after all that acknowledged hurt, after all the damage done, there is no judgement.

in the manga and anime alike, the world is just as fucked when light picks up the death note as when he dies. sure, we as readers can guess otherwise logically (and be optimistic, believing the world was never fucked regardless), but that's not what death note wants you to think. it ends with matsuda and another member of the task force noting how the world is worse again even though they killed kira (matsuda is clearly much worse for wear, but still determined), we see the shitty motorcycle band again, it ends with misa and a whole kira cult on a mountain even though kira died a long time ago...

its extremely important that light is never killed by any human or any aspect of the law. he is always killed by ryuk: a chaotic force completely detached from human sensibilities, one that does not care about good and evil. same with l; in the anime, manga, and musical, he is always killed by rems senseless, morally gray love (and you could argue in the kdrama that hes killed by love there too lol). justice is just a set dressing.

this is not just because death note is a tragedy, because good and evil can still matter in a tragedy. the theme of "nothingness" and "good and evil doesnt matter here" is also shown in a situation relatively unrelated to light winning or losing, or being good or bad. and its in fucking lawlight of all things. we all know ls not a good person. we know lights not a good person. this is tip of the iceberg death note knowledge. but the moment they start to interact, none of that starts to matter. textually, their relationship becomes more important than the people theyve killed and hurt. and the thing is? the thing is? THAT WORKS STORY-WISE. THAT'S ENTERTAINING. AND IT'S NEVER TEXTUALLY CALLED OUT IN A LASTING WAY. l and lights relationship, no matter how much i meme it, is genuinely important to the themes and "mu" because it makes it clear that despite all the pretensions, despite everything, this was never about good and evil. and it still works in the story. this is why death note is simultaneously a comedy — isn't the battle of good and evil supposed to matter more? well, fine, i'll keep watching this anyway. that suspension of disbelief comes crashing down the moment l dies, though, and a relationship built on nothingness (the "mu" sort, meaninglessness, not "character development" nothingness, theres plenty of character development) gives way to just nothingness (again, "mu", not light's post-l depression nothingness), forever.

(an aside: there is no one to root for in death note, and the only things to root for are either interesting character relationships, convoluted plots, or complete and total destruction: for everything to end so no more damage is done.)

not to say that death note does not encourage its readers to consider what damage they might do with the death note (obviously.), or that its characters never do. look at matsuda, a much easier heroic figure to latch on to than soichiro because of his unique place in the cast dynamic and because he's willing to consider both sides of the situation and kill light instantly for all he's done. its just that the story's own stance on the subject is... complicated by the existence of shinigami worldviews and by its own insistence that the world cannot change for the better.

also, this is not to say that this is executed well by the death note manga at all. it is a very strong tool, artistically, to establish and then violently remove any emotional connections between characters and make your story only about the exceedingly convoluted lengths characters go to to survive and catch each other so the reader can realize how ultimately pointless all of this is, but like... is that a good story choice if that's all you do? i would say not really. add in a good dollop of misogyny that destroys the second-to-last character who might actually be an interesting contrast to the rest of the cast's dull one-track focus on winning and justice, and youve got yourself a shitty story that... honestly still achieves what it went out to do, just not in a way id ever want to replicate.

anyway, back to the parts death note's actually trying to say. no matter what any human does in their life, no matter how they try to hurt or help the world, they all die in the end. hey, light, they all die in the end. once dead, they can never come back to life. and the seasons turn. and the world rejoices. and you say "goodbye"...

that's all.

no analysis of death notes overarching theme would be complete without nears final monologue, the definitive roast of light, the "you're just a murderer" speech: "what is right from wrong? what is good from evil? nobody can truly distinguish between them. even if there is a god." if we take this as talking about the actual god in the room (ryuk) as well as light, then near admits that humans will never be able to withstand these overwhelming forces and that, using justice and happiness and selfishness, they are just scrabbling to find meaning in things they ultimately have no control over.

but of course, near does not stop there. "[...] even then i'd stop and think for myself. i'd decide for myself whether his teachings are right and wrong." nears alright with not having control over everything, because near can still control nears own actions. these forces can and do exist, but they have no sway over nears own humanity — unlike light, who caved.

one of the creators of death note said they believe its message is "life is short, so everyone should do their best". the first time i learned this, i was like, thats... nice and optimistic, but an awful reading of the story! "life is short, so everyone should be desperate and striving like light yagami", who literally cut off other ppls lives for his own life? what character in death note are we supposed to strive towards when we "do our best"? they all do awful things with their lives! honestly, maybe they shouldnt have tried their best, if this is what their best is!

but with the view of "mu"... it makes a bit more sense. just a little. maybe.

there is no good and evil. there is only what humans think, and no matter what we do, we all die in the end. it is easy to be crushed and terrified by this in the same way light is, but what is more important than justice and righteousness and finding meaning is... doing your best. not being a person that hurts others too much. not letting yourself get swallowed up by an ideal. not going too far. and simultaneously, trusting yourself.

it leaves a few questions, though... was the currently dead l even a little bit right about his blatantly amoral approach, then? was there a point to this pain, and me slogging through this dumbass manga, and all the people that have lost their lives to a selfish teenage cop's son and the whims of everyone chasing after him? was there a point to any of this...?

the manga** never answers this. it stays clinically impartial until the very end. the musical is anything but clinically impartial (and i love it so much for that), and its ryuk that has the last word.

of course theres no point. none of this was ever supposed to happen. that is what matters more than all the hurt and the crimes and the pain.

and that's... actually okay, because it's over now.

yes, death note has many really important themes present in its story, but its viewpoint is nihilism first and foremost. thats why its so fun and easy to play around with all the other messages, because no matter what fun or torment or awful things or righteous justice or absolute nothingness or sentimentality happens in between, there is always an end.

thinking more about jin's comic-based verse and specifically as it pertains to a gotham/bat-universe kinda vibe bc im very limited in what comics i read and what comic related stuff i usually engage with but give me gotham and batman and the rogues any day

so, some basic default v. 003 stuff

as mentioned in my verse post (tagged in pinned), jin acquires his telekinesis and forcefield powers through experimental medical testing done to him as an infant. since this plot point originates his verse based in the boys, i don't have an exact 1:1 for the details and can flexible as to who is responsible for this experimentation and the surrounding details. his mother was not fully aware of what, exactly, she was signing up for, instead under the impression that he was undergoing some kind of treatment or testing for neurological diseases. considering her husband (jin's father) had recently died due to a brain tumor and cancer caught "too late" so to speak, and with a language barrier, she was persuaded to let doctors perform what she thought was new, albeit a bit unproven, but still sound and ethical medical care.

although his mother was paid for this, it was not a significant enough amount of money to be totally life changing. they had debts, she was a single parent, and eventually that money was used up and things went back to normal, though with slowly emerging telekinetic powers to complicate matters. deception aside, this is a big reason he feels so slighted. that his life and the consequences of these actions were worth so little, that despite trusting her kid and being used and lied to, she wasn't even set up to not have to struggle. he was used like a lab rat, like an animal, and wasnt even given the dignity of a stable middle class life in exchange for his service to science without his knowledge or consent.

the trial didn't carry on long enough in jin's case, possibly because his mother backed out or rescinded, maybe because the company went under, but for whatever reason they didn't see things through. by the time the telekinetic abilities he gained became obvious and he had to learn to control them he was on his own doing so.

despite his anger about his situation, he doesnt necessarily regret his abilities. they do give him an edge, though its a card he holds close to his chest. he uses these powers to enrich himself and his immediate circle (usually just his mother), because if he doesnt who will?

his investigation into the company/companies responsible likely leads to him to gotham, but the details of why i am again flexible on. plus this is a crime ridden place full of all kinds of weirdos where he feels like he can cloak his shenanigans (mostly theft and petty acts revenge against his personal enemies or the upper classes he feels scornful towards but also envious of). there is so much shit going on in that city it would be an attractive spot to slide under the radar of bigger, badder criminals for a while, a place where law enforcement is clearly busy and stretched thin. and while there may be various vigilantes, theres a limited number compared to what seems like a never ending stream of Big Bads and their henchpeople.

part of the reason he has his suit fitted with bright detailing is to draw attention towards the gear and away from him. he is the source of his abilities but it works in his favour to let people think hes another vigilante with some weird tech. plus he likes the look, and compared to some of the other publicly known freaks and villains in this universe its pretty tame.

the suit actually limits him more than it helps him, but the benefit of concealing his identity and throwing suspicion is more valuable than the limits it places on him. his senses are important for his ability to mentally map his surroundings, and his helmet and visor do limit his peripheral visibility somewhat and can impact his hearing by muffling less obvious sounds. he also has less tactile sensation due to his gloves, and has to effectively work through the layers of material around his head, since his brain is the nexus of his telekinesis.

his equipment is DIY'd or configured through his social network and isn't very high tech to compensate for these weaknesses, at least not early on before he accumulates more money and connections, criminal or otherwise.

as a gotham transplant and also just. a normal person he probably would have 0 suspicion initially about the bat's actual identity. the thought of the public persona of bruce being batman makes no sense to him at all. tbh he probably thinks batman is some kind of government agent or psyop or something.

if he did ever learn that bat's identity? honestly he's kinda pissed off. some billionaire is going around making himself a one man police force with a potentially tenuous relationship to any body of oversight (again this varies in comics and verses but the point stands)...? that doesnt sit right with him, and at least if the bat is a govt agent that kind makes sense, but this is prob harder for him to understand... he does what he does because he didn't win the birth lottery and have rich parents, otherwise he would be chillin at home moving things around his penthouse with his mind.

potential for jin to have a day job at wayne enterprises makes this so much funnier. stealing from his boss, bruce wayne, who is also batman. your ultimate boss at work makes money off of exploitation at some level (bc how the fuck else do people become billionaires, even if its inherited, like. economics.) and is using it to do this? he'd had some.... thoughts and feelings about it for sure

I think it takes Wanda more mental effort to plan to do something rather than just watch something. But that doesn't mean she wouldn't want something with active participation. Pietro's more likely to be the one to plan an interactive activity like lazer tag or one of those overly sensual couples dance classes (he regrets that). Wanda's more likely to plan an experience like visiting an attraction or a show, but i dont think that necessarily reflects their preferences - Pietro doesnt get bored every time he's not doing something. THANK YOU! People have this bizarre habit of simultaneously being hyper critical of Cami’s character while also IGNORING everything to do with her! Cami and Klaus have a moment but she doesnt magically diagnose him at the painting. She’s referring to HERSELF. At this moment in the story she knows her brother went crazy and murdered people. This is a vulnerable moment for HER that she’s sharing and she says “sorry” because she sees Klaus crying but also because she was discussing herself.

Also while yes Cami believes in humanity and isnt a monster, she’s not sunshine and rainbows. She’s very pragmatic. When she thinks someone is past redemption she’s fine with them dying. She’s fine with violence against people who have earned it by being cruel to others. For example, as soon as she realized how terrible Mikael was, she was team kill Mikael. She didnt care about the witches in s1 because of what they did to Sean. She initially didnt want Klaus to kill Lucien bc she knew he mattered to Klaus at some point. When she realized he was batshit she abandoned that notion. Cami’s actually one of the more adaptable open minded characters on the show.

Her attraction to Klaus, she literally says in 1x02 about how the bad boys arent good for her. The clues were always there if anyone was going in without a bias against Cami. She ALWAYS struggled with darkness and I thought it was obvious to people that part of her investment in Klaus was also for HER to prove you actively choose to be good and irrespective of your nature, family, etc. because she too came from a messed up family. The O’Connells were concerned about image and hinted at being controlling.

This is not aimed at OP but in general it blows my mind how everyone immediately accepts the rushed ass attraction of klaroline and Klaus sparing her and having these strong feelings, and they can accept Klaus sparing Hayley and their one night stand but Camille, the Klaus pairing with the most intention and build up is suddenly just unbelievable. We cant suspend our disbelief here at all. Klaus and Hayley had one episode together then have sex and its fine. The backdoor pilot shows moments of klamille and then they still spend a whole season showing their connection and thats a long stretch. Klaus never sniffed in Caroline direction before and used her as a pawn to get to Tyler but that’s true love? Just admit your bias.

I keep thinking about why was it so weird to people that Cami had a dark backstory introduced in season 3. I do agree that it should have been introduced in season 1, like mid season or something, but to me it made a lot of sense.

I mean, her very first scene in TVD has her practically narrating Klaus' state of mind. And sure, she is a psychologist, but like...I've been to a lot of those and they aren't usually that good. Sure, she was looking at a painting, but the knowledge was immediate and it got me thinking that she just probably expects people to be able to do awful things, despite also thinking they want to be good, because that's who she is. She wants to be good, but she has a dark mind.

Cami was terrified about ending up killing a lot of people, like Sean did, because she view that as a possibility. Normal people, no matter their degree, don't usually think that about themselves even if a relative did something like this. Sure, you can think about killing someone when you're stress or angry or joke about it, but to actually think yourself capable of that and fear it? No, that's not very usual.

think of him as a steamer like rtgame! hes got really fun sims and hitman series, games you dont think could be made funny, but then he does and its overall a really great time.

hes got so many inside jokes from all the games hes played, youve got to be there for every stream otherwise you miss out heavily.

nobody even knew what he looked like for awhile because he didnt have a facecam, but once he started using one his viewers went up by 100k, no joke.

minecraft endermen are really weird. theyre unnatural and make me feel off.

when i was a small child like seven years ago i would always play minecraft on creative mode and i made an ugly ass enderman "farm" made out of bricks. i had an enderman spawn egg and id just spam it and the enderman couldnt get out (so i thought). anyways having them in this enclosure was probably so i could feel "powerful" over them because to date theyre still the only mob in minecraft that makes me anxious. even above skeletons(which i used to have a horrible fear of (the real life ones not mc ones)) and spiders (which i still have a horrible fear of (again the real life ones not mc)). anyways the endermen just ended up completely teleporting out of the farm and i checked on my world the next day and they were all gone and i didnt appreciate it (this was the same world where my brother blew up my pets but thats a different story).

anyways back to endermen. besides the fact that i just didnt like dying and i did like building ugly structures, one of the main reasons i didnt play survival much for a while, or if i did id put it on peaceful, was because of the enderman. every time i passed one my heart would drop and if i happened to look it in the eye on accident my throat would feel like its closing up and idk why. if it sounds like im bullshitting you or not remembering correctly i swear im not because it still happens actually.

i play survival a ton more now simply because i enjoy it more, it feels like theres actually a goal to achieve, but i never really make efforts toward said goal(ya know, beating the dragon). none of my worlds are really created with the intention of beating the dragon, and therefore i dont have to worry about endermen. if i happen to be outside my house and theres one there, no worries i just wait for it to go away. it may spook me for a sec but im fine.

but recently me and my sister started a world with the sole purpose of beating the dragon. we may have cheated a little (like putting on keep inventory cause honestly we both suck at pvp and have died so many times) but its okay cause thats it. we still have to fight endermen to get pearls for the end portal. and so we were hanging out in the nether and made a little two block tall hidey hole and id stand by the front and taunt endermen to get them to come close so i could kill them without them being able to get to me and it worked really well actually. except for the fact that to get them to come near i had to get them to aggro onto me and to do that i have to look them in the eye and you know where this is going. and so i was like "it has been so long since i looked an enderman in the eye surely i cant still be scared of them" and i turn to my sister like "<sister> you stay in the hole ill get us some pearls"

so i go out and taunt the dudes and guess what bitch got the pit in their stomach from these fuckers!! thats right bestie and my throat started to close up and i started talking to my sister again but i could tell me voice was off from it and i dont know why it happens but it pisses me off. like theyre not even scary looking theyre just a bit odd. and i continue to do this and kill the endermen and it just. doesnt. stop. my throat keeps closing up and im not "in pain" or anything just inconvenienced like what the fuck dude its a bunch of fucking pixels. i dont know its weird.

and now this part is gonna sound super fuckin stupid but ever since i started watching dsmp i immediately got attached to ranboo (cc! and c!) and knowing that c!ranboo was half enderman made me really think "hm endermen arent that bad. granted i havent interacted with one in a while but still not that bad. perhaps my favorite hostile mob" because you know people get attached to characters and think dumb things. and then again ranboo's character straight up existing and also this one specific headcanon i saw that was like "endermen use telepathy to talk so when a player looks at them all their thoughts get projected into them and it hurts their brain :((" makes me feel kinda bad for aggro-ing them and killing them again even though its literally just some pixels dude. my brain is not kind to me about this stuff and its really dumb.

i dont know what about the endermen staring back at me sets off the sort of fight-or-flight that makes me unable to breathe for a second but its something. its not the fact that their jaws basically unhinge when theyre mad because the throat closing up sensation happens before that. it happens when i look at an enderman and it looks back up at me and holds my gaze. i dont know. i dont know why im worked up(even slightly) over a video game. theyre still my favorite hostile mob i think (not just because of ranboo honestly the other hostile mobs just kinda suck).

and also i like the idea of how humanoid they are. not human. humanoid. they have the basic aspects of a minecraft human- square, head, torso, legs, arms, eyes. most mc skins dont even have mouths anyways just eyes. but the endermen have these features differently than us. their eyes are unnatural, legs and arms too long, body all one color, one that can blend in, and you can only see its purple eyes staring you down from a distance. theyre basically just cryptids.

despite skeletons and even zombies looking closer to the player than the endermen, they still seem the most human-like of all of the mobs. they arent aggressive unless provoked. they dont like eye contact(socially awkward). they like picking up stuff and moving it around. theyre curious (i cant explain this one they just are, okay?). even the sounds they make are just phrases like "hey" "hello" "whats up" distorted and in reverse.

i want to know more about them.

i want to know where they came from.

why theyre found in every dimension.

why they sound like us.

i want explanations, i want to know why they scare us.

i want to know if they know.

if they know that we're like them in some way.

that some of us dont mean harm, but for others thats all they want to do to the endermen.

i saw a post once that said "what taught humans to be wary of things that look human, but arent?" i believe the phenomenon is called uncanny valley. what if in the minecraft universe, the thing that taught us that was endermen. or rather, the thing that taught the endermen that was us? because again, the endermen pose no threat to us unless theyre provoked. by one of us. the endermen try to communicate with us- "⊑⟒⊬" "⍙⊑⏃⏁⌇ ⎍⌿?"- but we kill them without reason. thats why they dont like eye contact, its been ingrained in them through evolution that eye contact with a human/player will end in death, and they dont want it to be theirs, so they attack first.

we- or rather, the first minecrafters, maybe (in the lore(?)) people before the game, taught the endermen to fear us. i mean we literally kill them, use their remains to enter their home dimension, and then kill their leader/mother. they do their best to stop us, but we can respawn and they cant. and then, some people even go as far as to make farms, having them all spawn in one place, crowded, cant teleport out- their only defense mechanism gone- and then are slaughtered for their pearls. and due to the mass of these farms there will be chests upon chests full of pearls that no one's using, i saw someone the other day ask what people do with them and someone straight up said they just burn them like god what a waste.

"but izzy, players make mob farms all the time and not just for endermen!!!1!!11! why are the endermen ones so bad why are you only talking about those1!1!1!!!1" 1) because i can, 2) this is an endermen-themed post, and 3) i dont like the other mobs. and of course im not actually mad at the players who like beating the game and making endermen farms and such, i mean thats what it is its all just a game just a bunch of code, 0's and 1's, so why does it matter why bother writing a whole post on it?

because when you look paste the game, when you read in between those ones and zeroes and discover this non-intentional lore, it can make things so much more,, interesting. this is fanfic material. hell, its probably fanart material too. its all for the content to see what the community can create i guess. or maybe i just really like talking about endermen and this has been on my mind for two days now and once i started typing i couldnt stop.

Okay trying this again. I finished reading that document, and im going to try and go over my thoughts and hit all my points again.

This is all just for the main callout being shared, though i have been sent more i am going to read later on. All my knowledge of this is from this document.

1. The document is a mess, but it does have some points that have credibility and real concern. Im going to hit those first so that no one misses them.

TL;DR: Alex has had inappropriate interactions and relationships with some users in discord servers, some of which are minors. This includes threatening suicide, sharing sexual photos without consent, and having inappropriate parasocial relationships with various users. Alex is shown to be struggling with their mental health greatly and i believe their patterns of that mental health struggle has lead to them seeking comfort and positive interactions from other users, despite the relationship they have to these users as a creator.

If you just wanted to know what the callout was for, there ya go! I read the whole thing and that is a summary of the main credible points of concern that i read. Now im going to go into the messier parts of this document under the cut

2. My trust in this document is unfortunately skewed to not trusting it. The bulk of the first part is centered around the authors romantic relationship with Alex, and what i gleaned from that is really just. Alex is struggling a lot with their (gonna use neutral pronouns because i dont know which ones they would prefer, so if someone lets me know otherwise ill change it) mental health, and that is what lead to the events of that relationship. I understand that struggle greatly, especially with the struggle to break the cycle and find professional help. I honestly really dislike this first part, both parties sounded complicit in the issues of the relationship, from miscommunication to boundary issues. I also do not agree with starting off such a long callout post with your relationship issues, unless it comes down to smth that can be an actual threat to others. A callout post should be for warning others of a dangerous or malicious individual, not for talking about how bad your relationship was, and it tarnishes the credibility of the document by showing immediate reason for a negative bias towards the subject. I dont say this to condemn or fault the author, truly i know what that feels like to be in such a relationship with those struggles and be hurt from it. Something of this intent though just isnt the place.

3. I hate, hate, hate how screenshots are used in callouts and this is exactly why. Almost all of these screenshots are unhelpful; they are either one single message, don't relate to where their postition is in the document, do not support what is being told or shown in the document, or are just unrelated or extraneous to the information we're given. Ive already seen a few people talk about how these screenshots were edited, and while i do think theyre not edited and truthful, i can see where those users are coming from. If you use screenshots in a callout, they need context and more information and actually useful information. Literally, pictures that are presented as evidence are entirely blocked out and censored; why even bother with showing them as evidence?? Some of these dont support your claims and honestly even refute some of your claims.

4. I still believe that this document is transphobic. I dont care about what Alex has said, and honestly i dont really care if they said it was a joke either, as their talk in these screenshots is wishy washy and appeasing at times, and it honestly doesnt matter how Alex identifies. Most of the screenshots that show Alex engaging with their gender identity and presentation have no sexual content or implications in them at all. It is literally just a person engaging in transfeminine clothing and outlets and it is being called predatory. There are a select few near the very end that are sexual in nature and content, but i cannot connect the sexual behavior that is shown to the entirety of Alex's transfeminine experience. Calling transfeminine people, even people that just appear transfeminine and might not be, predatory for simply dressing femininely and engaging with identifying as female is shit behavior to do. You can call Alex out for valid concerns and inappropriate behavior without calling into question the validity of their trans identity and experiences, and maligning their transfeminine idenity. Do that instead of perpetuating transmisogynistic rhetoric.

5. So much of this document is just. Not good. I was honestly about to call the whole thing as bullshit for a bit, because the actual harmful actions are at the very end of a very long document, and there was finally some credible evidence alongside it. If anyone wants to read it for their self, just be prepared for that. But yes, this callout is here for a reason, and shows that some pretty shitty actions had been committed. And, of course, there are other documents and posts now circulating as well. As far as i know rn, Alex has not made a statement. I don't have a Twitter, so that skews my view as well.

Basically. Idk what else to say really. Support those who were hurt by Alex's actions, give the benefit of the doubt to any victims that come out. But also just. Read the information being given, please. Have some responsibility and integrity for the information you spread, and dont just mindlessly share callout posts like this. Know what youre talking about before you reblog callout posts about anybody

A few shinkami headcannons because I love them more than anything

Shinsou has a growth spurt and practically towers over Denki by their second year (for all intents and purposes, Shinsou has always been in class 1A)

Denki grows a little bit but not that much, he’s not complaining though, he gets Shinsou to grab stuff on the top shelve for him or has him hang up posters in higher places in his room (the only downside is that he has to get on his tippy toes for kisses but usually Shinsou will just bend down like a good boyfriend)

They go on dates every Sunday, It’s their day and it doesn’t matter what they’re doing as long as it’s just the two of them

They could be studying or doing homework or exercising or anything really and they’ll call it a date

The rest of the class knows better than to try and contact either boy on Sunday

“Normies worship Jesus on Sunday but I worship Shinsou” - Denki, at one point in time

Shinsou loves playing with denki’s hair, he buys different kinds of hair clips just to put them in denki’s hair

he just likes how the colors pop out

He especially likes to see purple hair clips in denki’s hair

Tbh it doesn’t have to be hair clips, it could be a scrunchie or a rubber band or a headband; as long as it’s purple it does wonders to shinsou’s heart

Denki likes playing with shinsou’s hair too but more than that he likes seeing Shinsou in yellow clothing

Shinsou doesn’t wear bright colors a lot usually sticking with black or cool tone colors

But when he does wear yellow, Denki just gets all mushy no matter how small it is

It could be yellow earrings or socks or something and Denki will wear a love sick expression all day

Despite being in the hero course, Shinsou still gets incredibly insecure about his quirk and how some people only see him as a villain

Denki, without fail or hesitation, tells Shinsou what a great hero he’s gonna be, he talks about how Shinsou is gonna inspire a new wave of underground heroes and how he’s gonna be some kid’s Aizawa one day and how proud he is of him (The first time he said that, it makes Shinsou sob. It makes denki cry too bc he’s a sympathetic crier so they just lay in bed holding eachother)

He also tells Shinsou how no matter who’s the number one hero, Shinsou will always have first place in his heart. And that Shinsou is just as much as any other hero out there and even a little more because he’ll be underground

Denki just loves his boyfriend so much and whoever planted the idea that some quirks are just made for evil is going to get electrocuted >:(

Denki will also pepper Shinsou in kisses saying things like ‘you are so kind’ ‘you’re an amazing person’ ‘I love you so much’ ‘You’re my hero’ and just a bunch of stuff so by the end of their heart to heart Shinsou is feeling a lot better

Denki gets insecure about how ‘dumb’ he is and how he’ll probably just end up hurting civilians or himself before he hurts a villain

Shinsou hates how that’s how Denki views himself because Denki is one of the kindest people in the world and doesn’t even realize it like the first time Denki told him that insecurity, Shinsou looked at him and was like ‘are you..you’re serious? Denks, You’re one of the most clever people I know’

Whenever Denki mentions it, Shinsou he just squeezes the blonde and lets him cry out his frustrations before telling him that ‘he’s not an idiot or stupid and that it’s okay not to understand something as fast as others and that it’s okay to learn differently and it’s okay’ (Shinsou will always try not to cry but a few tears fall anyways bc he just wants denks to be happy without feeling like he’s a fuckup)

Shinsou never lets Denki call himself an idiot or stupid, even in a joking way.

They don’t fight a lot because of their personalities like

Denki is a people’s person and is really in tune with other’s emotions and by default is a pacifist unless otherwise

Shinsou isn’t a people’s person but he’s observant due to his quirk bc of how he’s been treated in the past, he’s also good at picking up on people’s body language

Most times it’s just small disagreements and even then they communicate the best they can and try to compromise

If that doesn’t work then they’ll give each other space so the disagreement won’t turn into something ugly

They’ve only fought once and it was the worst (and best) thing for them

The fight happened after a mock rescue mission goes wrong and there were weeks of stress and tension leading up to it

It was messy and bad like really bad

“I just don’t get why you have to run into danger!” Denki screamed. The whole dorm could probably hear them but he didn’t care, not when his boyfriend was looking at him like he just lost his mind.

It was supposed to be a simple training exercise. Simple. Go in, defeat villains, rescue the ‘hostages’. It was not that simple.

*insert how badly the mission went and Shinsou ran towards the danger to help or smth idk*

It gets pretty rough between the two of them because they’re both pretty emotional people

Shinsou thinks denki doesn’t want him to be a hero and denki thinks Shinsou doesn’t want to be with him

It’s a lot of insecurities + stress + yelling

Denki is the first one to break, he’s a lot more emotionally sensitive than Toshi and everything is just crashing down and he hates it

“Do you just not want to be with me?!” He cries, unable to keep the tears at bay any more. He hates arguing with people, especially when that person happens to be his boyfriend. He gets it, he does! Toshi is training to become a hero and so is he but that doesn’t make it easier. Doesnt stop the shot of fear whenever he watches the other get hurt, doesn’t stop the late night self deprecation, doesn’t stop the anxiety he gets whenever he sees Toshi run head first into danger.

But he gets it and somehow it’s a bitter realization.

Because Hitoshi’s priority is the job they signed up for and Denki’s is Hitoshi.

The fight ends with tears on both their parts and they call it a night, too tired to scream anymore

They sleep in their own rooms that night

The next morning they agree to take a break, not a full break up, but some time away. Space away from each other to prioritize and think.

(Now ive seen fanfics where everyone picks denki over Shinsou and i hate that so fuck you, class 1A are both their friends and they’re all family and try and to help each other I will die with that statement)

Surprisingly the two most helpful people are Bakugou and Kirishima

(Actually not that surprising, they’re the longest couple in the whole class, dating immediately after Kamino)

Bakugou and denki have a heart to heart

“You’re both dumbasses” Katsuki sighs heavy, passing another tissue over to the sobbing blonde. He’s not good at these kinds of things, but Kirishima told him he could help the electric blonde more than he could so here he is. “You gonna tell me what’s wrong or just cry?” He asks, not without a hint of worry though. He pretends to ignore it.

So denki tells him everything and his insecurities

Oh. Yeah, Kirishima was right.

“You think I’m an idiot” Denki mutters quietly, harshly rubbing his eyes.

“No” The older blonde shakes his head, plopping down on the bed next to the other. He doesn’t turn to meet yellow eyes, his own trained on the All Might poster hanging directly across from them. He feels Pikachu’s curious gaze on him so he decides to elaborate more, knowing the sooner he helps the sooner he doesn’t have to deal with this anymore. It’s totally not because he’s gotten soft. Absolutely not.

“Trust me, Zombie Eyes looks at you like you put the fucking stars in the sky. It’s disgusting to watch.” He crinkles his nose in disgust earning a small laugh. “People like him and I, we gotta work twice as hard. Not saying that no one else does but it’s different.” He stresses the last word. “People like Ei or Deku or even you, people already see you as good so all you gotta do is get stronger. They don’t question your character, your morals, they don’t look down on you for having a weakness. People like Zombie Eyes and I though?we gotta work hard just to prove that we’re good. That we were meant to become heroes. Every action we do is put under a microscope and analyzed.” He explains.

“We’re assholes by default, It’s how we were raised. Not saying it as an excuse though. He was in the shitty system and I had shitty parents, no adult taught us shit like love or how to properly deal with feelings.”

Stupid Deku tried with him but he didn’t even know how to deal with his own much less some angry blond kid’s.

He takes a deep breath, pushing back faint memories of his childhood. The younger hasn’t said a word but he can tell he’s listening so it’s fine. “We can’t just turn off how we are. If it’s frustrating for you and Ei, It’s worse for us. Like we know logically that we’re good people, that we changed but that’s now how our brain sees it. We push ourselves because that’s all we know how to do, it proves to us and everyone else that we bled for our spot here. That we made it. Having friends is hard because we compare ourselves to them and draw our own conclusions to their actions. Being nice? Our brain says it’s a trap. Showing some human fucking decency? Our shitty brain says it’s an act. Being in a relationship? Laughable. We’re just villains pretending to play heroes to everyone else.”

He takes another deep breath, forcing himself to look away from the poster, flashbacks to their first year briefly passing in his head. Okay yeah, not going down that route. He looks over, making eye contact. He wonders if this is how Kirishima feels whenever he’s trying to cheer him up. Wonders if it’s just as hard. This better be worth it, everyone has been miserable. (Shitty thing about having been through life and death situations together is that everyone has bonded and become close like a family so when one of them is sad it’s like everyone is fucking sad.) (He loathes it because even he gets worried.)

“But despite that he still loves you.” He says softly, almost whispering like he’s telling the other a secret. “Fights his demons to hold your hand and all that shit”

Shinsou loves him? Loves him?

“How do you.. how do you know?” Denki whispers, throat sore. “We fought so badly last night, we were screaming at eachother.”

“He treats you the same way I treat Ei.” He answers,

“He changed his priorities around to try and accommodate for another person in his life, you became more important than training or studying. He takes days off to be with you, cuts his studying short if you need a break. It might not seem much to others but for him that’s huge. He came in with this one track mind but then you came along and he scrambled to balance everything. And then you two got your shit together and started to go out and I’m pretty sure he got scared”

“Scared?” Denki asks, the thought almost funny to him.

“I did.” Bakugou admits as Denki’s eyes grow wide.

“I was petrified. When Ei started to become more important than hero work, I freaked.
