Been talking to friends about the old fan art that was submitted to TTO.... so thought I'd share a bunch of fan art pieces that were officially submitted and displayed on the Fan Art section of the TTO website.

Disclaimer: I'm posting these for archival/historical reasons! They're generally not easy to find from the surface, so I'm reposting them to make these old relics a bit more accessible :) (Part 1)

My favorite Moomin book is Moominpappa at Sea- it gives me such a melancholy feel, with their decision to uproot and leave not just their home but their friends all behind just to rediscover themselves and begin anew. I need the comfort of normalcy. Change terrifies me. But these guys embraced it- even if they did struggle in the beginning. It is such a somber story as they reform their community with the Lighthouse Keeper and even the Groke who becomes an unlikely friend.

I like to imagine even if they stay at the Lighthouse, that Snufkin, Sniff, and Snorkmaiden seek them out and find them. Even if it takes a few years, when Moominmamma's apple tree is in its first year of giving fruit & the island has truly become a home to them.
