BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THE POEM STEALS
46 and 51 words respectively. decided to start my day with some warmups hahaha the prompt is My Poem by Joseph Fasano. theres a really sweet and sad and good one that you probably recognize. i tried not to think too hard about each line because i do think this form is best suited for not worrying about how its all gonna come together. im generally more "at war with the process" than trusting it.
i really love how ppl like fasano create prompts like this... in thinking about what kind of poetry billsnaf would write, i couldnt ignore the idea of them plopped into some little poetry workshop at their community center or something... how romantic if one thousand miles away, they end their poems on the same word?
#my writing#triolets on their way... god bless the 40+ pages of cramped and insane snafu pov practice#hbowarsteal#billsnaf#hbo war poetry#after the triolets i might try to focus my energy on poems about them being#sick/returned to duty and wounded/returned to duty#since 40 of those 40+ pages are just monologue merriell walking back to sledgehammer's foxhole#ive explored the possibilities already is what im saying#theres a great running bit in there about green onions#doesnt bill leyden remind you of a green onion...?#maybe a spring onion...
