(ooc: well I might as well add my other OC Phoenix to this because yes :P)
The sun is setting over Playground, Phoenix doesn't usually come by the faction very often but after chasing a few church members down here she kind of had to.
As she walked down an alleyway when a sewer grate catches her eye, for a split second she thought she saw someone peaking underneath.
'Ah, there ya are.' she thought, the figure had ducked down as quick as they appeared but Phoenix kicked the grate out of the way and jumped down to the depths below.
She was expecting it to be a lot more... Gross? Sewer-like at least but there was a surprising lack of sewage, she turned to the figure that was frozen to the spot. Aiming her flintlock at them, "Thought you could outrun me? Ha! You-" she paused for a moment. This wasn't a church member, hell it wasn't even a regular inphernal. It was a Biograft and they looked terrified, "What the? What in tarnation are ya doin' in Playground? Thought you hunks of junk would be in Blackrock." Safe to say the bandit was very confused.
*the scared buildergraft looked ......what could be considered scared? as it shaked with smoke coming off of it, looking as if it would feint as the buildergraft next to it jabbed it's elbow into the first*

eviltech.WAD: Eviltech: Soul Of Megawad (compatibility fixed version) MAP06: Pueyrredon (-331, 1803, -64) Author: Nicolás Monti Date: 2012-01-02 Description: classic doom megawad with 34 maps. I started this megawad in 2002! then I abandonned the project and reassumed it in 2011. back in 2002 I made the following maps: 01-11, 21, 23, 26, 70% 0f 24 and the drawing for 25. at that time my computer sucked and I used doome42 for editing, doomed42 is by far the crappiest doom editor ever, it's buggy as hell and too way primitive. it seems that my maps 24 and 25 could'nt be built with it because of its limitations, they crashed every time so I left the project due to dissapointment. In 2010 I dove again in the world of doom and got doombuilder 2 so I made the rest of the levels and corrected some texture misalingments of the old levels. you may notice that the 2002 levels are smaller and simpler, more old schoolish than the new ones witch have more detailing and harder gameplay. The levels take the names of the buenos aires subway stations and most of them have a color predominancy of the respective station. there are 3 episodes: line d (map01-11 and 31) line c (map12-20) line e (map21-30, 32 and 33) This was an idea just to give some cohesion to the wad, some kind of pattern. however this wad contains just classic doom levels and not subways or anything like that. This wad is strongly if not plainly themed on tech bases, i'd say that most of the levels have a shores of hell feeling but without the hell part, some others are more like tech doom2 levels (line c) only levels 12 and 20 are more city themed. There are a bunch of hell levels on the net and those plenty of brown bricks and wood straight lined maps which I'll never enjoy so I tried to make a tribute to the classic techbase themed doom. Every level has been tested under 3 basic conditions: 1- pistol start 2- ultra violence 3- finished with 0% of the secrets So there are'nt mandatory secrets and every level is doable from pistol start though some of the can be a pain in the ass at the first part. nevertheless this wad was built to be played consecutively One tip: try not to let monsters behind you, I've put teleporting lines on some concave sections of some level in order to prevent monster stucking, so they'll follow you!!!

back when i was trying to get back into brute forcing game dev (i am very stupid) I had aspirations of making an RPG in the Doom engine inspired by stuff like Strife, Hedon and Lycanthorn as well as a Hylics mod my friend was making for Doom which gave me the idea to make it about a cartoonish wizard that used spells with goofy hand gestures in place of regular weapons. I got disheartened when I was told about the limitations of DoomBuilder and my depression and then my life when to absolute shit before I could do anything but hold onto my soul like the safety rail of a rollercoaster car. I still thought about it a lot in the back of my mind, about enemy types like necromancers that would turn dead enemies into animated skeletons, a large battle between two castles the player would get into, secret forest mazes, magic items that would give you a double jump or a hover, the Doom Eternal-like rhythm of strafing and swapping spells for certain enemies, even a small class system that affected your starting gear and a plot about animated dolls and the sheltered life of a wizard's apprentice. Inventory would be managed in a "mind palace" where you could also check your quest progress and find secret levels taking place in the player character's psyche. One of the spells in this drawing is "shooting star," where you hold down the fire button to conjure more stars and release to fire them one after the other or press alt fire to release them all at once in a shotgun-like spread.
I have a friend who might teach me rpg maker which I'm excited for but I don't think it's what would fit what I had in mind for this game. Maybe with some encouragement and guidance I'll return to DoomBuilder or something similar. I'd like to, but thinking about doing it and actually doing it are two different things. I think when I started making music I was imagining it'd be this game's soundtrack, I know making a game on your own especially the open world zelda-meets-dragons-dogma adventure game I had in my head is incredibly difficult, but I think I could at least do the music, graphics, writing and maybe a portion of the actual meat. It'd look a bit ugly on purpose like if a team of deviant art users were tasked with rebooting a 3DO game with an insultingly mediocre stab at imitating the works of graham kartna, toby fox and some of niel cic's older stuff like what he was doing under the name Deporiatz.
I don't know. Ive felt stupid all of my adult life, I hate being stupid and learning is hard, I've been extremely insecure about my art ever since ny ipad shattered and I could no longer draw with the same polish I had before, last time I asked for art criticism I was told "this looks like you don't draw very often" by an artist I really adored and that kinda put me in the muck about it. I still draw I just rarely post it out of anxiety. Idk I guess I'm trying to rip some sort of band aid off and see what happens. Probably nothing, the number of people who will see this are probably in the single digits and ill probably delete this post out of embarrassment in a few days, but the thoughts will stay with me.

today is may 3. that is my birthday!!! so why not make buildermon headcanons in celebration (i am unwell about them)
Their relationship started in Forsaken, shortly after Builderman was forsakened. It’s more of a situationship but they still act like an old married couple.
They both have an rbf, Builderman’s being worse. Sometimes when they’re making plans for next round they just sit next to each other with the “>:(“ lookin face and every other survivor is terrified for their safety.
Shedletsky totally looks at a picture of Builderman and practices asking him out on a date. He would also totally hype himself up in the mirror if his reflection wasn’t 1x (hc that the spectre swapped their shadows and reflections). Although, the two can’t really do anything in the Forsaken realm so Shed’s kinda living a bit fantastically one might say.
As more and more survivors came in, all of them slowly started to realize that Builderman was gay. (Noob: “Hey, Chance? Why’s Shedletsky always around Builderman?” Chance: “Oh, they’re dating.” Noob: “… Oh! Well, good for them.” ‘HOLY MOTHER####ING #### BUILDERMAN HIMSELF IS GAY’)
Yes, Shedletsky does follow Builderman around like a duckling. Builder’s used to it now.
Love language! Builderman likes making little trinkets for Shed, and Shed likes contact. bird hug little guy bird hug him bird smooch him smooch little guy hug. Builder was hesitant to physical touch at first because of a past incident with Doombringer (yes it’s doombuilder they’re exes now), but Builder has learned to open up. Anyways, Shed has a shelf in his room dedicated to stuff that Builder gave him.
I like to think that if 1x didn’t feel only negative emotions that they would have a slight crush on Builderman due to being Shedletsky’s emotions.
Jason has appeared behind Shedletsky and Builderman multiple times. Even if they did something as small as holding hands. Jason hates romance in every way shape and form.

Week ??? - Minor Hiatus
Just a quick update for the three two people that follow this blog. The past 8 months have been insane, with a variety of stuff going on my life.
The Good:
I moved into an apartment building about 100 miles away from London up to Leicester, because:
I got a new job! I am now a Producer at NSC Creative, an immersive storytelling studio based at the National Space Centre.
The Bad:
My video game studio Pixel Spill has officially wrapped up, meaning that ‘Outreach’, is no longer in development. Since this happened, my creativity has had to go into my current job, and I’ve simply not had the energy to work on the project.
The laptop that I was developing Project98 on MAY have broken completely. As a result, I have been unable to access many of my prototyping concepts (as my desktop doesn't have a floppy disk drive).
This massive reshuffle in my personal and professional life has taken over a lot of my time recently. That, coupled with the death of my windows 98 machine has made me re-evaluate the project. I am thinking of switching to something like GZDoom and exploring more modern software packages in order to actually COMPLETE a game.
I’ll probably come back to the Windows 98 concept in the near future, but for now we shall see what the future holds.
