My Chemical Romance is a band who's artistic vision I respect but their music is neither good nor entry level. They scream and shred way too much for a pop listener to get into once you go past sing and teenagers, and yet they're not even doing anything that interesting sound wise. The only thing they have that sets them apart from other bands is the fact that they do narrative concept albums, which is cool, but none of their fans seem to care about the narratives which makes their relative popularity in the scene completely incomprehensible. They belong here but the fact that they rose to the top instead of one of the dozens of other bands who were active longer, had cooler looks, cooler sounds ect is weird. Despite being good at first Panic never really belonged in the scene at all. Paramore stopped being emo in 2012 but most active bands have stopped being emo since then and Paramore gets a disproportionate amount of shit for it because they female fronted and went Indi pop instead of metal or electronica. While I'm talking about the level of shit that bands get for "selling out" nobody noticed that Andy Beirsack dropped a whole pop album and I find it really weird that he got away with it. It's like Hayley took all the heat for both her and him somehow. We do the genre of Crunkcore an incredible disservice for how bad it really sounds when we list 3oh!3 and Millionaires as examples. We need to be telling people it sounds like DotDotCurve and I Set All Friends On Fire because it does. I can keep going.

Honestly all of my emo music opinions are insane yet completely correct.
