fake dating blade for a few hours to get couple’s discount but he doesn’t let go of your arm, hand or sleeve. It’s been half an hour after the dinner, but he insists on keeping up the pretense. You indulge him, and it’s totally not because your ears and face are warming up, or that he’s been so gentle this evening. Blade stops by a flower shop, and gets you a lovely bouquet with a keychain of your favorite sanrio character.

“Do you want dessert? It’s my treat.” He guides you to a small ice cream truck, one you’ve been craving for a while (how’d he know… maybe you’ll ask him later?)

Blade drops you off with a kiss on your forehead (you don’t know why but your heart jumps to your throat), and makes sure you’ve locked your doors before you hear the ‘ding!’ of the elevator.

the next day, he’s waiting outside your door, wearing a suit, and a bouquet of your favorite flowers. His face is dusted pink, and he offers you a proper dinner date.

“They’re still doing a couple’s discount,” upon seeing your face he adds, “and giving out free plushies.”

August 1st - Day 2 - Confusion/Blush

‘Okay,’ Ritsu Onodera stares into the restroom mirror. ‘Hair, check. Box,’ he pats his pants pocket, ‘check. cuffs,’ he straightens it out, ‘check. Just breathe and act natural.’ He chides himself as he steps out from the restroom and heads towards the elevator.   

That evening Onodera and his boyfriend Masamune Takano have reservations at an exclusive restaurant a client was kind enough to get them a reservation for. Situated on the top floor of the Suganuma building, the restaurant’s ambiance is said to be naturalist meets nouveau riche— whatever that’s supposed to mean. The ceiling over the dining area as well as the walls from waist height are completely open thanks to micro-framed glass panels, providing a beautiful view of the night sky. Thin trellis divider frames of woven wisteria vines separate tables to provide minimal privacy while still allowing for an open floor plan. Even the furniture is made of dark, reddish-brown mahogany wood, clear lacquered to allow the natural grains to shine through. Regardless of the theme, the place is difficult to get into because the sitting is limited, and spots can take months to open up.  

When the elevator door opens to the rooftop restaurant, Onodera walks out, his eyes scanning for Takano while moving towards the maitre‘d station. Since he’s come straight from his last client appointment, his outfit is a business suit, but he’s removed the tie and unbuttoned the top collar to lighten it up. It seems a bit stuffy for this environment. Maybe he should take the jacket off too, but it’s too late to turn back now. The maitre’d seats him to wait for Takano to arrive.

Onodera does his best to stay calm, reminding himself it’s not their first date so stop acting like it. The light murmur of other guests, clinking of glassware, and occasional laughter do nothing to help him get into a relaxing mood because the weight in his pocket is the only thing on his mind. How about a drink? Maybe the alcohol will help, liquid courage and all. He orders for them both and as it arrives at the table, so does his boyfriend. Perfect timing.

Takano smiles and walks up, kissing Onodera on the cheek before sitting. 

“You and your PDA’s,” Onodera grumbles in embarrassment. 

“Oh, you love it,” Takano teases in jest, gaining a blush from his boyfriend. He then reaches over the table and places his hand over Onodera’s. “And how sweet of you to order my drink, you know me too well.”

Onodera turns his hand over to lightly grasp Takano’s. “Mmm, I’d like to get to know even more.” 

The salacious retort briefly stuns Takano in a good way, making him laugh. “I think I can make it happen,” he winks.  

“We’ll see tonight.” Onodera responds.

Throughout the next two hours, Onodera and Takano take their time finishing off an appetizer, main courses, and a shared dessert. Takano tries a couple of times to pick off Onodera’s plate, and eventually the man gives in and feeds it to him. Some onlookers might find them an odd couple with Onodera being serious compared to Takano’s laissez-faire, but it made for being two halves of the same coin. The conversation flows from work to a television show they’re watching together, back to work, to a new artist Onodera has heard about, to the weather while sipping drinks and relaxing. The client who recommended this place was right about it being a nice place. Who knew that being able to look up at the stars while eating dinner could be so relaxing. Note to thank them with a gift later. 

“The crab cream puffs were really good, so creamy inside with the garlic and feta alfredo sauce.” Onodera groans from feeling full, “I’ll have to remember that for the next time.” 

“Speaking of a next time,” Takano responds with a seriousness to his tone. “I have something to tell you.”

Onodera sits up straighter in his chair. What is going on all serious suddenly? “What is it?” But as Takano makes a move to kneel before him, his eyes flash wide. It can’t be! An audible gasp escapes his lips.

Opening a small jewelry box and holding it up, Takano presents it to Onodera with the widest smile. “We can celebrate our anniversary here from now on. Ritsu Onodera, my first and only true love, will you officially become the last?”

Seeing the beautiful ring and hearing the confession, Onodera is both smitten and— “Wait a minute!” He drops down to Takano’s level, yanking out a small box from his pocket and presenting it to the man. “You always take the lead!” He snaps with no anger in his tone, just frustration and maybe a hint of humor. “This time I wanted to be first! I wanna be the one to propose!”

Takano looks at the ring in Onodera’s hand, to his face, and back to his hand before bursting out in laughter. “Okay,” He sits back in his chair and takes a deep breath to calm and stop his laughing. “You can go first.” 

Still kneeling, “Pfft,” Onodera mumbles with his head lowered and eyes to the floor. “It’s already ruined.” 

“None sense.” Takano retorts. “Please tell me, Ritsu,” he leans in and lifts Onodera’s chin, cupping his cheek to force the man to look up at him. “I wanna hear it from you.”

“Tch. I hate how much I love you, Masamune.” Joyful tears cloud Onodera’s vision as he leans into Takano’s hand, savoring the warmth it conveys. “You’ve hurt me more than anyone else ever could, but that also proves just how much of my heart you already own. So,” he presents the ring to Takano with a forceful tone, “take responsibility for what you’ve done and be with me forever.”

“I accept responsibility,” Takano chuckles and allows Onodera to place the ring on his left ring finger. He then presents his own ring to Onodera. “And you?”

“Of course, I’ll be your last love.” Onodera allows Takano to slip the ring on his left ring finger. “I better be the last one.”

Extremely happy to finally solidify their relationship, Takano sweeps Onodera into his arms, lifting him off his feet as he kisses the man forcefully, despite the man’s protestations. After putting him down, he kisses him one more time with a grinning smile. “Remember, all sales are final. No returns.”

“Baka,” Onodera quips back. “Instead of joking, shouldn’t you focus on hurrying me back home to celebrate?”

Takano’s face lights up. “I’ll get the check!”

Ren was convinced he was able to give Haru the slip by some sort of witchcraft. But that didn’t matter too much to him now. He was finally in the sanctuary of the usually empty diner. Well, today it was almost empty save for you studying here, and Ritsu passing by for his regular black coffee. It’s times like these he’s thankful he took up work here in this diner, and for some reason seeing you here made the ambiance strangely comforting. Not that he had any reason to complain about the near silence save for the occasional notification sounds from his phone. And the odd smells from some of the kitchen’s ingredients he had unfortunately become familiar with had become more bearable as well. Ren smiled in spite of himself as Ritsu bid him and you farewell and headed off to sort out any new shenanigans. 

Ren still had about fifteen minutes before the daily login reset for the day so he decided to check his progress for the day and find out how to optimize the next day’s rewards. It didn’t look like there was all that much to do, since this time’s event he cleared all the story and gameplay. And there were a couple simple tasks to farm for stamina, and he needed all he could get. They were simple puzzles, so no more than two minutes was needed. His fingers moved deftly across the screen, the soft glow of his phone lighting up his face.

 Unconsciously, his gaze drifted to you sitting by the window. The sun filtered through the glass panes of the window, enveloping you in its warm light like a halo. He could have sworn the sunlight was woven into your skin, making you look like you were an otherworldly being. You were finally given a break (sort of) to study though the stack of books and notes in front of you seemed just as daunting as any field assignment. Ren couldn’t help but feel bad for you, it was always either missions or assignments for you. 

But he was soon shaken out of his reverie when you sensed him staring and then waved at him with a smile. His heart skipped a beat as he stumbled behind the counter, cursing his own foolishness. Of all the times to look like an utter clown! Heat crept up his neck and bloomed across his cheeks as he hastily grabbed a random towel to feign busyness. What was worse, the counter was reflective, and he could still see the embarrassed mess of himself. “Pull it together, Ren,” he muttered under his breath, glaring at the towel as though it were responsible for his predicament.

At least, he thought, none of his dormmates—especially Haru, thank whatever deity was watching over him—were around to witness this. But still, you had seen it, and that thought alone was enough to make him wish he could sink into the floor.

What was that about? You wondered. You shrugged it off and checked the time on your phone. It looked like the daily login just reset, so you logged in to the game. You glanced over at the counter to see a still red-faced Ren also on his phone, no doubt logging into his game also. He took this event quite seriously, especially since he really wanted the rewards. He told you before that this is the story update he was looking forward to most. Sadly for you, you’d have to complete it at a later time. If you played any more, you wouldn’t be able to concentrate on your studies. Or so you told yourself, but your gaze shifted towards the now calm Ren behind the counter. His brow was furrowed in concentration as his fingers danced across his screen. The faint glow of the screen cast a subtle light onto his features, highlighting the sharp line of his jaw and the way his dark lashes fluttered with each blink. You couldn’t help but admire how focused he seemed, utterly lost in his digital world. Ren's brows knit together, his lips pressed into a slight pout that was, admittedly, kind of cute. You shook your head, trying to snap yourself out of it. Focus, you chided internally. Your study notes were waiting, and you really couldn’t afford to fall behind.

But the diner’s quiet ambiance, combined with Ren’s calm yet oddly captivating presence, made it harder than ever to concentrate. Ren let out a faint “yes” before he set his phone down. His stamina was probably depleted right now, so he let the gauge recharge. He looked up and made eye contact with you. Immediately he went beet red.

“Oh, hey, Ren,” you said. “Don’t mind me, I’m just admiring how cute you looked just now.”

“H-Hey! You can’t just say that!” He sputtered.

“Why not? It’s just us here, and you are indeed cute.”

Ren fumbled for words, his mind scrambling for a witty comeback but delivering none. He resorted to pretending to be engrossed in wiping down the already spotless counter, though his crimson face betrayed him. His ears burned as if your words had set him ablaze, and the towel in his hands twisted tighter with every passing second.

“MC, you will be the death of me.” he finally managed, his voice a mix of embarrassment and something softer, something almost shy.

You chuckled. “Anyway, think you can get me a latte? Kinda need caffeine and sugar right now.”

Ren seized the opportunity to escape. “Sure!” he muttered before darting into the kitchen, grateful for the excuse to hide his embarrassment.

As the door swung shut behind him, you heard a muffled, “God… damn it!”

Smiling to yourself, you turned back to your books. This was shaping up to be a good day after all.

how about ritsu with an mc who gets really nervous when romeo asks who she's going to room with because she wants to room with ritsu So Badly but also Doesn't because they're nervous to be alone with him like that. like romeo can TELL she's freaking out about That In Particular and ritsu can tell something is wrong, but they're just avoiding eye contact with him and stumbling over their words and it's a DISASTER.

this totally 100% is not me projecting my experience with that episode onto mc i was not sitting there like "what the hell this is CRAZY why are we sleeping in the same ROOM as him THATS SO INTIMATE" maybe yuri is onto something when he freaks out about hand holding. i am no better.

⤴️ your brain when you realised you are gonna have to share a room with ritsu

“There's only two rooms, so you're going to have to share a room with one of us.” you hear romeo say.

You freeze. Your brain screams: OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO SHARE A ROOM WITH RITSU. But your mouth has stopped working.

Romeo, already leaning on the counter, glances sideways at you, eyes sparkling with wicked amusement. He knows. He 1000% knows.

“Faster BB,” Romeo says smoothly. “Go on, pick.”

You grip your bag strap like it’s a lifeline. Your throat goes dry.

Ritsu, standing calmly beside you, tilts his head. “Whichever you prefer,” he says kindly.

Doom. Doom. Doom. That’s your heartbeat now. You inhale too fast. “R-ritsu!” you blurt, voice an octave too high.

Romeo barely suppresses a smirk. “Then I suppose Taiga and I will take the other room.”

Key in hand, you march toward the hall with the grace of a malfunctioning robot. Ritsu follows, quiet and steady. You swear your ears are red.

You fumble the door open. The space just consist a tiny bunk bed pressed against the wall, a desk & a bathroom. Ritsu steps in after you, closing the door softly.

Your brain is pure static.

Ritsu gestures to the bunks. “Do you prefer top or bottom?”

You nearly choke. “BOTTOM. I mean—uh—if that’s okay—! Not like, you know, for any reason! Just—uh, yeah—bottom bunk is fine.”

Ritsu’s lips twitch, he’s polite enough not to laugh. “Of course.” He sets his bag on the top bunk.

You throw yourself onto the lower bunk, burying your face in the pillow. OH MY GOD. Romeo’s going to make fun of me for weeks.

There’s rustling above. Ritsu was settling in. “You okay?” he asks softly.

You squeak out, “YEP. GREAT. NORMAL.”

Silence stretches. Your heart won’t slow down.

“…Goodnight,” Ritsu says gently.

“GOODNIGHT!” you blurt, way too loud.

A quiet chuckle drifts from the top bunk. It’s soft. Kind. You nearly implode.

Under your blanket, you mouth to yourself, Okay. Breathe. You’re alive. Barely.

Outside the thin walls, you can faintly hear Romeo talking to Taiga.

“Told you,” Romeo murmurs. “She’s a mess.”

You squeeze the pillow tighter. You hoped to whatever God is watching you that Ritsu didn't hear that coversation.

He says sarcastically, making you raise an eyebrow. "Because you're peaking 20 years old?" tilting your head, before continuing. "You need to man up!" You exclaim.

"MAN UP? Sexist." He scolds you playfully this time, "I'm sorry, but I don't see gender, SIR." Leo highlights the 'sir', before stomping off like a little child.

"But there is a bomb in this wedding too." You whisper, looking up at your newlywed husband, as he furrows his eyebrows, actually looking serious for once.

You let out a little giggle, before saying; "Your butt. Your butt is the bomb, and there will be no survivors." You snicker, watching Leo's expression go from serious— to sniffling a bit.

You wipe his tears with your thumb as he pouts, now its his turn to whisper. "I love you so much, you're my dream girl." He lets out a chuckle, kissing you softly.

"I don't like Leo! I don't know where you guys got that from!" You huff, eyebrows furrowed— as your friends stare at you, knowing damn well that wasn't true.

Meanwhile, Leo, overhearing your conversation, totally not eavesdropping, inhales deeply as he nods his head, whilst the rest of the Knights members look at him, with a sort of 'Ouch.' expression.

"What? It's cool. Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool coo—"

"Leader!"

"The night you fell in love with me?" He asks, pondering. "Mm, when we were writing a song, I mean.. When I was writing a song, and I got all the inspiration I needed from you."

He sighs happily, before continuing. "And you fell hopelessly in love with me," The male giggles, whilst you give him a playful glare.

"Leo." You deadpan.

Your husband stays silent, before sulking and changing his answer. "The night you flirted with me for 20 seconds and I became obsessed with you forever."

"What's wrong? Guys, where's the ring?!" Mao panics, as you two stand still awkwardly, whilst Ritsu is just standing there behind his soon to be husband.

You raise up Leo's hand, showing the ring stuck on his finger as you giggle awkwardly, the male beside you with just a smile on his face.

"Your ring is stuck on his finger, I told him not to be cute about it!" You quickly defend as he gets taken aback by your comment.

"I'm cute about everything!"

"Look, guys! [Name]'s test scores came out!" Your friend boasts, as you panic internally, whilst your husbands eyes glimmer in excitement. "What is there to be happy about? That envelope looks small! As in little bad news envelope!"

You cry out as your friend snickers, before Leo quickly snatches it out of their hands, making them gasp in surprise.

"NO!" You scream, getting a firm hold on his arm, and pulling it to hurt slightly as he whines in pain. "OW!" He cries, before whispering. "Do it more," He says with a smile on his face.

Hiiii I wanted to ask what characters are you writing for? And what kind of writing, one shots, drabble, headcanons?

Thanks for asking! Sorry for not clarifying for earlier for what types of writing I usually do.

I usually only write drabbles of characters and/or one shots of them, but if requested I will write otherwise. I will write some suggestive works, but I don't write smut due to the fact I'm uncomfortable with it.

I won't post much on this blog to be honest, so it's not at all consistent posting (sorry).

zombie au drabble: early in the curing process

so Mob and Ritsu are living alone in a house in Salt Township, right. And at first, Ritsu brings Mob to the hospital and back every day, and that's... pretty much his entire life. He doesn't have to stay on the move anymore. He doesn't even have to scavenge for food or loot corpses. Salt Township gave Ritsu and Mob citizenship as soon as Takane Tsubomi identified them as former neighbors. So Ritsu is allowed to go to the Salt Community Kitchen and take food, just take it, and no one is allowed to shoot at him for stealing or for the crime of traveling with a sick brother.

So Ritsu holes up in the empty house with Shigeo and rations out their last food. People he hasn't seen since he was six years old drop by to say hello and give him things, and he tries to remember how to be normal about it. But eventually, even the gift food runs out, and the hospital food once a day isn't enough. Ritsu has to make a trip to the Salt Kitchen.

And he doesn't want to.

For months, getting food has been one of the most nerve-wracking things Ritsu has had to do. They needed food. To get food, Ritsu had to interact with humans. Taking Shigeo with him was not an option; humans shoot zombies on sight. But Shigeo, alone and sick with no concept of pain, could easily get killed or accidentally injure himself in any number of ways. So Ritsu resorted to gently, apologetically tying Shigeo to trees or poles with his jacket while he went to trade looted stuff for food.

And then, while Ritsu was trying to look normal and healthy for the settlement people, selling them bullets and trying not to think about what the bullets would be used for, he would be imagining how easily Shigeo could snap the arms of that jacket and wander away.

About the time that spring started rotting into summer, when Dimple forced his way into their little party, it became possible to acquire food without leaving his brother alone. But still, Ritsu never left his side.

Even with Dimple around, Ritsu stuck as close to Shigeo as possible. He never liked Dimple, and he completely rejected the idea of leaving his brother in that slimeball's questionable care. He knew Dimple only stuck with them out of some kind of directionless desperation that happened to fixate on his brother's calm strength. Dimple was charismatic enough to found a cult, seemingly benevolent, always smiling, a man who could make zombies and humans alike do his bidding—but Ritsu saw through him. Dimple wasn't a messiah, he was just a little insane. He was a mostly-asymptomatic carrier of zombie disease, Ritsu figured out, just a little too late. He'd realized when Dimple attacked him.

Ritsu never liked Dimple. He's sorry Dimple is dead, though.

After Shigeo snarled louder than Ritsu had ever heard him and fought Dimple to the ground, Dimple had calmed Shigeo down with just a few physical gestures and throaty, wordless sounds. The man was able to communicate with zombies, Ritsu had acknowledged bitterly. And he would be useful on the journey to a cure. So, after the cult dissolved, Ritsu had let Dimple tag along after them. Occasionally, he'd make Dimple get supplies while he stayed with his brother. He never let Dimple stay alone with Shigeo. Didn't trust him that far.

He wishes Dimple was here now.

Ritsu paces in front of the door, rubbing his thumb over the curve of his spoon, one of two pieces of silverware he has left from his parents' house. They need food. Nii-san is only a few days into the cure and not really conscious or anything. Ritsu has to go get food.

His brother is crouching by the functionless TV, fingers running clumsily over the screen, fumbling over the buttons.

"Switch it to channel 5, Nii-san," Ritsu requests idly.

Shigeo makes a toneless throat-sound that might almost be mhm.

He's changing. It used to be a surprise if his brother verbally responded to Ritsu's voice more than once a day; yesterday Ritsu held a whole sort-of-conversation with him, back and forth for minutes on end, until Shigeo's eyelids started drooping. Exhausted. Both Ritsu and Shigeo are getting more sleep now than ever, and they're both still exhausted.

Ritsu's thumb rubs hard along the edge of the spoon. He can't get over it. He hates taking his brother to the hospital, hates being exposed on the street, walking with a zombie, his brother, hates how people stare at them in pity and disgust, hates hates hates how the doctors look from him to Shigeo and back, not sure who to talk to anymore now that the cure is working inside Shigeo. Ritsu hates talking to Shigeo in public even though he doesn't give a shit if people think he's weird. Everyone already does. The thing is, he's been told that everyone in Salt knows zombies are people, but every time someone does a double-take at them he feels like they're going to get shot.

The council made him give up his guns in exchange for shelter. He still has knives, but he feels naked without the firearms.

He's just wasting time thinking about this. Of course he's taking his brother. He can't leave him alone. Not yet. Not until Ritsu is 100 percent certain Shigeo is 100 percent better.

It's stupid to think of this as a choice. Being around adults again must be messing with Ritsu's head. There's no way Ritsu can leave his brother alone, and they have to eat.

Ritsu is still in charge.

And that means he can do this.

Ritsu opens the door and looks back into the house. He waits.

Shigeo looks up from the TV. His misty gaze passes over Ritsu, then his eyes wander back to Ritsu, becoming aware of what an open door might mean.

Ritsu takes a step out the door, and his brother gets up and follows him.
