Been thinking about this again. About c!Sapnap wearing the mask and taunting c!Dream, knowing it’s importance. For someone who believes c!Dream doesn’t have any attachments and doesn’t care about him, he sure does take a lot of effort to take something for no other reason than c!Dream’s attachment to it. Because it’s not like he needed the armor, he already had some. If c!Dream truly doesn’t have attachments then it doesn’t matter what armor and mask he wears to terrorize the server. C!Sapnap just didn’t want to give him back what belonged to him, what he longed for - a piece of himself, his persona, his mask.

And I keep thinking about c!Tubbo and c!Tommy in theory wearing c!Dream’s armor in the disc finale - wearing the mask. And the utter disrespect that comes with, but also how powerful they must have felt wearing the face of the monster that haunted their dreams.

So, if in the finale c!Dream’s helmet, that he takes off for c!Tommy, represents his mask, does that mean that when c!Sapnap puts on c!Dream’s armor, Nightmare, he is putting on and stealing c!Dream’s mask? - Because I’m not gonna lie that really puts a new perspective on that betrayal… Furthermore, when c!Techno brings c!Dream armor in prison, did he make him a mask and bring it to him… and then take away the mask later? - If so, again that’s kinda screwed up. Though you could argue that perhaps he made c!Dream a mask for the jailbreak so he had one to face the server with and then because they were trying to not seem like allies he took it back, knowing that c!Dream would get another one. Which also begs the question, did c!Punz make c!Dream a mask for after prison or is he simply handing over one of c!Dream’s masks?… When c!Tommy in the minecart skirmish stole c!Dream’s armor, was he taunting him with his own mask? - Because oof that’s some serious violation and disrespect…

In other words, if you think that c!Dream’s helmet in the finale represents the mask (which I’d say is implied by c!Tommy) does that same logic apply across the board or is it just for that moment? And if it does apply to rest of the lore, wow does that have some implications…

Convict Childcare AU - c!Sam makes a break for it and steals a toddler without thinking, and then decided that he's got this whole prisoner right here so clearly this is a functional babysitting arrangement. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Eldritch Dream AU - Listen, in c!Dream's defense, he thought they were just playing around with all that torture and murder stuff. How was he supposed to know it was real for them? He's so sad about all the worldbuilding he did for this LARP that now's totally wasted.

Dreamon Improv AU - c!Dream got possessed by a dreamon that feeds off of his connections to other people. It's an old virus that has destroyed countless servers, it's feasted on hundreds of thousands if not millions of players before him. But c!Dream has something that none of those people had; an absolutely batshit plan and a willingness to commit to it 1000%.

God Meeting AU - c!Kristen keeps showing up to drag DreamXD to meetings and accidentally grabs the wrong Dream. She's in a bit of a rush, so she decided this is fine and c!Dream finds himself drafted into showing up to godly meetings since DreamXD refuses to.

Apology Cake AU - Is c!Sam a moron or attempting murder?c!Dream isn't sure. But his head is aching from escaping from hunters and he's decided this is probably fine.

Time Blind AU - c!Dream left 5 minutes into making the SMP and got replaced by an impostor, something only discovered when someone stumbles onto the giant parkour course he's been building, unaware that he's been gone for like a year and not a few hours. Adhd's like that sometimes.

Admin c!Dream AU - c!Dream is the admin of the DSMP, he's self taught, and c!Phil is in hell.

Manhunt AU - c!Dream is suddenly being chased by like 5 men and he's kinda fine with it.

DSMP DREDGE AU EXPLANATION TIME

For basic info, Tommy is the fisherman, Phil is the Lighthouse keeper, Tubbo is the Shipwright, Ranboo is the dockworker, and Schlatt is the mayor, Technoblade as the fishmonger. The important one to remember is Tommy atm

Spoilers for dredge storyline below!! Please feel free to make suggestions, ask questions, anything!

This is an au of the dreamsmp characters not the CCs, if you support the CCs that are terrible people get outta here.

So for the actual storyline it will follow dredge very closely, with wilbur filling the role of the dead loved one. Tommy in his grief completely pushes all memory of him away and manages to avoid it to the point of returning to their hometown as the new fisherman. He mostly chills until the incident with the abberation happens, and I think Techno pulls out a lmanberg flag instead of a handkerchief. After this Tommy is faced with the dream smile mask as the collector, featuring the book. He’s sent to dredge up the first artifact, which I’m still figuring out.

I’m thinking the artifacts will correlate with Wilbur descending into madness, and while there isn’t an entire war in this universe I imagine a decent chunk of the events stay the same. Wilbur still runs against schlatt for mayor, and is sent to pogtopia (little marrow) under the guise of it being for a job. Tommy being the fisherman going between both lmanberg (The Marrows) and pogtopia is doing his best to support wilbur but is focused on keeping them afloat by fishing. Wilbur settles on getting schlatt back by helping Tommy fish, with the intent of essentially providing more for manberg than Schlatt can. While he and Tommy are fishing Tommy explains some superstitions and such to him, and they decide to remain the boat together since it’s now a shared job. Wilbur breaks the superstition of not keeping anything with the old name intentionally, hoping it’ll have consequences on manberg.

It doesn’t. The boat crashes on the rocks with them both on boat, and Wilbur drowns. Phil blames himself, being the lighthouse keeper on duty, but he focuses on the harm Wilbur was causing to cope. As Tommy fishes he finds notes and such from wilbur, showing his declining mental state through the whole thing.

When Tommy’s collected all the artifacts, the dream smile mask falls, revealing its Tommy’s face underneath it. In this au im leaning into the Dreamon concepts a lot of people had, and having dream exist as the monsters/supernatural effects rather than being the collector himself since I really like the reveal that the collector and fisherman are the same person.

I still need to figure out the artifacts/spots so this is stuff I gotta figure out

1) artifact by manberg and pogtopia

2) by gale cliffs, dsmp area to be determined. Notably has a sea serpent terrorizing it

3) by stellar basin (maybe snowchester? If so who replaces tubbo as shipwright), has a plant/tentacle creature you need to subdue with a machine to get the artifact

4) the mangroves (? Eggpire??) has mind suckers and an old veteran airman who helps you kill them and get the artifact

5) the volcano (Nether?) contains the blind mother fish and her little minions, fuckers. Has several cult side quests, might be better for eggpire?

Also if we wanna include pale reach and oil rig DLCs! That’s a whole can of worms.

Eyes black like new moons..

I really like imagining c!George with black eyes. It sorta gives him the supernatural connection Dream and Sapnap are always drawn to have, but like, it’s more subtle. It sorta gives him the sense that he’s got stuff going on under the surface but hides it well.

Like, while Dream and Sapnap will always display their supernatural qualities (dreamon traits, fire demon traits), George hides his features almost like he’s embarrassed of them.

I imagine a scenario where the Master Dreamon got accidentally stretched too far away even for a timelord and the Doctor find Epiphany panicking and speed find the Master. I can see them both cuddling togetehr for a week bc the Doctor definitely isn’t worry possible affect that this stetch bond can cause as this is the first time it happened. Im guessing normally as punishment for great crimes, the Renegade Timelord have theirs kill permanently after stehcibg them out to create as much pain as punishment

your half dreamon ranboo makes way more sense than what ended up being dubiously canon for cranboo ngl, so much never got a proper explanation bc of the nature of the server and ranboo wanting to separate themself from dsmp stuff

if i think abt the way ranboolive acts about the dream smp i start to see black spots in the corners of my eyes and a red tint clouds my vision and i black out and wake up covered in blood 40 miles from home

Chapter 4: Lamb to the Laughter

Hi darlings, I feel like I say this every time I update but I am genuinely excited about working on this story. It just gets spaced out by my other projects.

This update concludes Chapter 4, and Chapter 5 is where the fun stuff starts happening. And I'm super excited to make it, but I need to focus my efforts on Foliant Tales right now. Its Chapter 1 is getting close to the end.

YHS WEEK! Day 1: AU

My alien au!

Sam is literally YHS Sam taken from some better circumstances. He and Taurtis were abducted by Geode, who is a mimic species. Unfortunately Geode sucks at mimicking and while Geode may not have disected them or even taken anything, Sam now hates uncanny valley. Oh, and he's maybe a bit traumatized by Taurtis now being a pufferfish.

Sam misses his Dad a lot and is worried that he may be put in a home because I like angst and that based on yhs canon it really looks like Sam's dad needs Sam's help.

Sam deals with Schizotypal PD

Taurtis was human and is Sam's best friend.

Geode was doing some stuff and downloaded Taurtis's consciousness into a pufferfish. Why? Because it's Geode. That man has goals beyond our understanding.

Extra unfortunate, Geode is still very smart so this is the first time a complete flawless transfer of consciousness has ever happened so no one knows how to reverse it yet, if Taurtis's body is even still alive.

Thankfully, Taurtis is Taurtis. He will complain about all the handsomeness he lost, only to then proclaim he is the hottest pufferfish ever.

He is in a bucket and needs water changes very frequently and essentially is suffering what these two call "fish asthma." Really, he needs much better water and something to oxegynize the water. The bubble column thing.

Sam's goal is to get him an aquarium.

Also, Taurtis is now telepathic and might be able to see into the future. Geode is smarter than he seems.

Taurtis keeps getting them out of trouble, partially because he's a telepathic pufferfish and no one expects a telepathic pufferfish.

Partially because he's a pufferfish and no one up here knows how dangerous he is and they absolutely do not have the antivenom. (fun fact! neither do we.)

Also, he keeps seeing into the near future, which is pretty helpful. Him and Sam write it off as good instincts. Trust Taurtis's guts 👍

Grian is an avian species that I forgot to name. His home planet is rocky cliff faces and some pretty harsh tectonic movement. His planet is also where Salex comes from, which is the name of an animal that these avians eat.

Grian has a sister, Pearl! I keep using he/him, and I called Pearl his sister, but they're actually all hermaphrodites. Everything on his planet is except fungi. Pearl is great 👍

He lived in a cliffside home, away from worse tectonic activity and took occasional visits to the floating cities above plate boundaries.

After getting abducted by Geode he met Sam and Taurtis (while they were both human.)

He didn't stay long because I accidentally made his species kinda op. He then got abducted by dreamons, yes this lore involves dsmp and hermitcraft and life series, and they also failed at doing anything to him. And then he gets thrown in a fighting pit where they again can't force him to do anything and then ends up back with Sam and Taurtis but this time with DomRao (I haven't decided his species yet) on Dom's spaceship.

Shenanigans ensue, they become public enemy #1 despite the fact the galactic federation has no idea earth or Grian’s planet exist and not knowing what the heck these guys are or if they're sentient. So basically it looks like Dom has the worst pets in the universe.

I remenber how when i was re-watching the early days, cdream started streaming but when new menbers started to come he stopped. And i wonder...if we want to give it an explaination in the universe, maybe it can be that the more people in the more the admin has to focus on them all? And bc of it he can't be streaming his pov, he doesn't have time. And maybe The more the lore advanced the more of the original energy and objective of the server in that first stream got Lost, and cdream can't reach it anymore bc he can't stream his vision nor be with cGeorge anymore or something like that

What do You think? Do You have any other hc or idea for why cdream stopped his pov inside the lore?

Huh… that’s interesting. I’ve honestly never thought about it. I usually don’t consider the characters streaming as part of the story (despite the fact that there are plenty of comments in lore that say otherwise) Besides Techno, who is the dsmp Deadpool, breaking the fourth wall and stuff.

But now that I am thinking about it, we could have some interesting reasons… the first one that comes to mind, is that he stops streaming around the time he is possessed by the dreamon, which reflects Dream no longer being himself therefore having no pov… or we could see it as a representation of when Dream started to lose himself and get “jumbled” as he strayed further down a darker path, as he became less himself and more the villain they painted him as, he lost too his pov… or perhaps we could somehow connect his pov to DreamXD and say he took it or XD is his pov manifested as a god or something… or along the lines of what you said, we could say he stopped having a pov because he became so focused on others. No longer did his personal safety or desires matter, only making sure to mediate and be involved in everyone else’s affairs… or perhaps we could reason as people started to see him as a person less and less, no longer recognizing that he has pov, that’s when he lost his right to have one or something… I don’t know… but it is interesting to think about.

Bringing back Dreamon AU stuff Lfg

Okay so a question I saw in the “Life” ch, how could Dream return to his human self in Techno’s dream if in this post I said there was no way to save them once their memories faded.

Well here’s the thing.

I call it some kind of “““exorcism”””. Why? Cause Dreamons, even if they’re not motivated by a lot of things to do what they do to humans they’re interested in, is instinct and the thing that turned them into Dreamons (their fear).

As a human Dream was afraid of loosing his friends, hence why he kidnapped Techno and George once he saw them as suitable companions. That covered part of his reason why he took them, the other is the instinct of making more Dreamons.

So in that chapter, once George was gone, something in Dream sparked that memory of his fear (it is the only memory they keep from their humanity) on why he didn’t want to be alone, why he wanted to have friends with him. So he thought for a long while until he realized Techno wasn’t happy, just like George wasn’t happy when he was trapped.

Freeing them freed him, he had friends, and he wouldn’t be alone as long as they remembered him.

Dream’s been dead for a long time (do not ask how long I do not know), forgot what being human felt like, mostly its emotions.

Empathizing with George and Techno managed to make him remember more about himself.

Now, this AU has been hard af. Took me a year to finish it lmao, but workshopping the way Dreamons worked was, and is still a bit hard, cause it’s different for everyone, yk? For Dream it was his friends he was afraid of losing, George didn’t want to be forgotten, and Techno didn’t want to lose his family.

Different fears, different Dreamons.

But yeah, might change a few things here and there but I’ve tried to keep it as close to the original idea I had as much as I can. ^^☕️

Heart sleep headcanons because Heart's a massive comfort to me and I wanna come up with sleepycore stuff for him.

•When he sleeps, the little moon on his halo sparkles softly, and the light coming from the orb on each of his rings (plus halo) starts to dim.

•He sleeps with his childhood stuffie, Dragon, which is, you guessed it, a dragon. Dragon has mint green fur and dark green/cream accents, and soft but worn fur due to years of use; he was given to Heart by Cameron (Whole in our AU, just letting y'all know this AU is like CRAZY canon-divergent) when he was just a little idfant as the doll was passed down from Cam to Heart after he was emancipated and had his own home.

•His wings will softly flutter in his sleep, in the same way a dog will whimper and its legs will jerk.

•He shares his dreams with Mind! They both are talented lucid dreamers and remember their dreams very well, all these abilities coming from their species being distant relatives to dreamons (what dream creatures are called in my universe!).

•I like to think that while sometimes he snores, he tends to make a hooting sound when he sleeps, almost like a mix between an owl and a cat trill!

•He loves to sleep with lots and lots of blankets and pillows, and loves to sleep with his head covered by the blanket. He physically cannot sleep without weighted blankets, similarly to how he cannot be comfortable and at ease without wearing a hoodie, so he sleeps as if he's being held all of the time.

•Mind in our (nkgrimmie and my's) AU always wakes up at 5AM sharp to take a shower, and Heart often wakes up to the sound of him leaving his room to go rinse himself off. Heart finds the sound of him showering relaxing, and likes to hear Mind kinda do his thing before dozing back off to sleep.

•Speaking of Mind, Heart and Mind love to cuddle (in a familial way ofc). Mind holds Heart in his arms and Heart clings to him and uses the former's muscle as a comfy place to rest his head. Sometimes, when something bad happens (*looks at Soul*) or just when the day's been long, Heart enters Mind's room, and Mind sighs, and they have a nice little cuddle at night. It brings me joy knowing these two are so close in my AU. :)

•Heart is a bit of an oversleeper and sometimes Cameron/Soul goes to wake him up but he really isn't feeling it, so he just smiles a bit and leaves him to rest, most likely repositioning Dragon in his arms.

•Heart also gets extremely tired as a trauma response, but trying to keep things wholesome so I'll cover that another time. :)

•Due to sensory issues (ADHD), Heart sleeps with his blindfold off and leaves it by his cotside. It gives his eyes a nice break and ensures a good night's rest, given how much Heart values his sleep as the best part of his day.

•Heart has a semi-large collection of pyjamas in his closet that are washed at least kind of regularly (most likely thanks to Mind). They often have star/space themes to them, as does Heart's blanket, pillow, and cotsheets, and he loves to relax in his pyjamas while watching YouTube, namely Game Theory/Film Theory, Markiplier, CrankGameplays, and Alan Becker, as well as just generally nostalgic YouTubers for him. :)

•Before cot, Heart likes to sit on the porch and stargaze. It tends to tire him out, and they live in a semi-rural part of town decently away from light pollution so they (HMS/W) can actually see a pretty good amount of space from there. Sometimes Mind joins him on the porch and watches alongside them, and Heart gets to geek out a bit about stars while slowly falling asleep; and then can be carried inside and tucked in. :)

There's ABSOLUTELY more, I'll most likely make a pt ii when I can. :)

So @scoops404 asked me to list the fics in my "fic Graveyard" aka the fics in my google docs that I started but will probably not continue, and I decided to make it a tag for all my writer friends to do. List all the fics you started writing but probably won't continue and then tag some friends to do the same: For my version of this I've only included fics where I have over a couple thousand words because I have lots of docs with like 200/300 words in and that would be a really long list. Working title/doc title: the porn star au that Dream asked for Premise: They're porn stars, Dream is faceless and does amateur solo stuff on OnlyFans but is really successful, George does studio movies and is popular in his own right. Dream wants to transition to movie work for the money and requests to work with George, but no one is actually sure if he's gay or just gay for pay. This was based on Dream's tweet about "in an alternate universe I'm a gay porn star are still get cancelled for queerbaiting" or whatever it was he said. Anyway, every time I read my notes for this I love it a bit more Pairing: dnf Word count: 2,749 Reason you stopped writing it: Honestly, I liked the premise so much I worried about not doing it justice and now I get scared every time I try

Working title/doc title: the royalty au dream wants but that I didn't think I'd ever write Premise: George is a rebellious prince sleeping with a knight called Dream he doesn't really get along with but then he becomes King unexpectedly due to the death of his father and is faced with the perils of trying to govern a country. He's expected to marry the prince of a nearby kingdom in order to solidify their alliance, but he just can't seem to shake Dream, who has some very strong opinions about how George could be running things instead Pairing: dnf Word count: 1,804 Reason you stopped writing it: Again, not really my usual kind of thing. I'm a contemporary romance write - I don't know why I keep starting these things

Honourable mentions (fics that are a couple hundred words): Werewolf!Dream au - again, not my thing Spanking fic - There are already so many good ones and anything I could have put in this will probably be in a future longer fic of mine Living like you said - a fic with the summary "As YouTube falls apart, Dream and George fall together" about them contemplating quitting while getting together - idk why I gave this up except I didn't have a clear outline for it How to deal with alpha roommates - I so badly want to write more Beta!George like in my fic That's How We Play It (please read, it's my baby) and I started with a premise but again didn't have a clear outline, just a desire for Beta!George fake snf for the bet - what it says on the tin, really. abandoned because I lost enthusiasm for it (Sapnap probably pissed me off that day) Fertitlity stuff - occasionally I start fic to exorcise some personal demons and this was an mpreg one where they faced fertility issues and then split up only to get back together later on but then - well, my own life happened and it made this a bit impossible to continue. oh my god okay so the lyrics just go fucking insane. i dont know if i would do the full song but it REALLY would fit for it. just like..... look at these final lyrics

like are you KIDDING ME. i would probably have a few scenes like ranboo first joining the SMP, maybe even my own little dreamon experiment headcanon stuff going on, and then id jump around to the panic room convo, and when ranboos given the book with the smile, and i would probably end it with the prison explosion, and recreate the scene from the cdream experimenting on vikkstar and lazarbeam video where ranboo is revealed to have set off the tnt. i replay this shit in my mind constantly.

because like:

this intro verse is such a clear visual of ranboo enderwalking and sneaking out from snowchester or maybe even nlm and meeting cdream out at the border. suuuch a clear scene for me.

the rest of it is just like. mindless rambling and random visuals so theres everything i WOULD do.

So in the call of Cthulhu au- the prison trio and Cala go through a lot of stuff and there’s a lot of options that differentiate what happens to them. But for the “true” route, they all lose at least a body part from their body!

Dream: loses his left leg up to his knee after an encounter with a monster with The Egg outside of Pandora’s Vault

Sam: loses his right hand in Pandora’s Vault via Dream cutting it off so he wouldn’t turn into a monster

Quackity: loses his good eye in Las Nevadas after losing a bet, making him mostly blind Since his scarred eye is fucked up.

Cala: loses her entire left arm up to her shoulder after the Dreamon gets summoned in her commune.

With other routes they lose a lot more but this is the main injuries they endure.

In short they are all majorly fucked up

i wrote some stuff about jonni below

cw: i mention brain parasites in the last few sentences. Jonni is a dreamonic weaver. His magic deals with Dreams, illusions, Emotions, and the subconscious. Weavers are creatures that move the fabric of reality forward in time, as well as keep the physical realm intact by repairing the ripped seams that start to naturally occur in the fabric. Jonni fell through one of these rips when he was young and it lead him to the physical realm, now he resides on a moon orbiting Hylox typically alone. though, over the years he's learned how to teleport to the planet below, as well as astral project into terra beings dreams/psyches with his dreamonic magic. he can heal terra being's ailments and travel through shadows/pigment. typically he's a very reserved, silent person, he's seen this planets inhabitants come and go many many times and the solar generator/Dez go dormant. as well as the solar system come under new management. so he spares himself the heartache and tends to avoid getting attached to terra beings in anything other than dreams - interfering could also grab the attention of Perry who scraps with Jonni on sight. but sometimes Jonni truly cant help but get involved on Hylox, he was once a bit of a trickster when Dez ran the place, as it would signal the solar generator to awaken and send a vessel to Hylox to fix the chaos Jonni caused. so going on that logic, Jonni tends to cause problems for Perry on purpose in an attempt to wake Dez back up from his deep slumber. Jonni hopes it will bring order back to the planets and he wants to be with Dez once again.

when Dez is asleep the solar system is susceptible to parasites like nebule worms. they burrow into a creatures psyche and drains them of magic. Weavers are these worms natural hosts- what im saying is Jonni gets brain worms sometimes and he can lose himself a little.
