I am feeling all kinds of things on ANZAC Day. My Great Grandfather, who made so many of the beautiful pieces of furniture in my house, was a gentle man, who would never speak of his WW1 experience. He said it's not for women or children. As a teenage feminist, this seemed sexist to me. As I’ve grown and become a parent, I’ve learned what he meant. He suffered this terrible thing, so we didn’t have to. He wanted to protect us. I commemorate ANZAC Day with quiet private reflection in his honour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The other side of my family were conscientious objectors. Their war experience was also traumatic whilst quite different. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I saw the prompt for @katie_parrott #dressedupforisolation was graphic tee, I knew my @ada_and_lou tee was perfect.
