Common pets varies with how rich the family is. Turtlecrocodiles, swancrocodiles, turtlecats, beaverhounds, froghounds and sharkcats are pets of the rich, swancrocodiles being common messengers. Meanwhile commonfolk favors duckcats, beavercats, and hunting swanhounds.

Farm animals in Uchait consists of sheep, and pigs, often crossbred with elephants for size, and hens, often crossbred with eagles to defend themselves. Other animals found in farms are crocodilehorses, the favored mounts of Uchait.

The main wild animals around Uchait mainly consist of sharkdeer, deermonkey, duckhare, swanhare, beaverfrog, turtleducks, crocodilefrogs, and swanturtles, bugs, and snakes. These are not the only ones, but the most numerous.

Magical animals in Uchait are rainbow fish (fish large as whales), as well as the birds shangyang (rainbirds with one leg, predicting imminent heavy rain), vermillon birds (closely related to fenghuan, always covered in flames, elegant and picky), and zhenniao (poisonfeather birds, viper-headed bird whose feathers are tainted with an unparalleled poison known as zhendu). Few magical animals thrive in the swamps of Uchait.
