The heavy pound of boots moved across the deck. The leather clad captain looked over his crew; some wounded from the raid but most were fine. His dark clothes hid the blood that was covering him - none of it his own. He grinned in pride to himself, proud of himself and his crew for another successful raid.
He stopped suddenly, noticing a new face tied up to their mast. The unknown woman glared up at him through the hair that had fallen into her face.
"Izzy," Blackbeard beaconed. "Who is this?"
"Captive, sir," Izzy responded. "We found her hiding below deck before abandoning the ship."
"I told you no captives," Blackbeard sneered. "Captives are just extra weight. We kill anyone on the ships we raid."
Their captive winced at his words. The fear didn't go unnoticed by the ruthless pirate captain.
"Bring her to me."
She tried to fight against the two crew members who grabbed hold of her, but there was no use. They untied her from the mast but kept her hands restrained in front of her. She stood before Blackbeard, trying to keep eye contact with him as to not seem afraid, but her trembling body gave her away. She flinched as he grabbed her bound hands. When he unsheathed his knife, nearby crewmates gasped and watched intently, both nervous and intrigued by the thought of seeing their captain slaughter someone on the deck.
When he cut the restraints, everyone let out a breath. The captive nearly collapsed and sobbed with relief.
"Come with me," he said. He started to walk towards his office, but the captive didn't follow. He glanced back at her. "That wasn't a question."
She reluctantly followed the pirate captain. All eyes followed her until she passed through the doorway and Blackbeard shut it behind her. She was so tense her body almost hurt. She didn't realize her hands were balled into fists until she felt her nails biting into her palms.
Blackbeard approached a table with an assortment of alcohol bottles on it. He took two glasses and filled them both. He gestured to a desk with chairs on either said - his desk. "Sit."
She did as he said. It was another "not question", and she figured it was best to follow those instructions at that point. She sat and Blackbeard placed the glass of alcohol in front of her. She glanced at it for a moment before looking back up at him. He rolled his eyes and took a mouthful of his own drink.
"Poured it from the same bottle, so there's nothing in it," he said.
"I don't drink," she said. It was the first time she had spoken since the raid. Her voice was scratchy and her throat felt raw. "Can I have water instead?"
She was shocked when Blackbeard stood and actually fulfilled her request. When he placed the glass in front of her, she immediately chugged down the contents of it. Blackbeard sat across from her again, studying her as he nursed his drink.
She didn't meet his eye as she placed the glass on the desk and said, "Thank you."
"What's your name?"
She hesitated, but eventually she responded, "(Y/N)."
"As a pirate rule of thumb, (Y/N), you show your captain respect. That means you answer the questions I ask, and you look at me when we're speaking."
Her head snapped up quickly. "Captain? You're not - "
"I didn't kill you, but I can't let you go, either. It risks you running off and turning our last known location in to the authorities."
"Then keep me captive."
"We don't hold captives here. Either you die or you join us. But I'm making the choice for you this time; you're joining us."
(Y/N) felt like she was going to cry. It felt like a lose-lose situation for her. She didn't want to die or be held captive by the most notorious pirate captain, but she also didn't want to become a pirate. She wanted to go home to her parents, who she was sure were going to be worried sick once they heard the news of the raid, and mourn the loss of her friends who were on the ship that was invaded. She certainly did not want to live alongside the savages who killed her friends.
But it seemed there was no choice. She wasn't about to fight Blackbeard on this when he was allowing her to live. But it truly felt like a fate worse than imprisionment.
"I'll have my first mate prepare a cabin for you," he said. "And I promise you, (Y/N), my crew will leave you alone. No one will harm you."
(Y/N) nodded, too upset to speak.
~~~~~~
The weeks went by and (Y/N) fell into a routine with her new shipmates. She was still keeping to herself, not wanting to see any of the crew unless necessary. She was still trying to pretend like this whole thing wasn't happening.
Blackbeard kept his promise, too. The day after her unwilling induction into the crew, Blackbeard had warned his crew that if he heard of anyone intentionally harming (Y/N), that he would deal with them in the most painful manner, and his warning definitely seemed to stick. No one even dared to look (Y/N)'s way most days, and after so long they started treating her like one of them.
(Y/N) wished that made her feel better, but she was miserable.
She was stood at the bow one night after everyone else had turned in. She had been doing that a lot lately: watching the calm, night water on her own, most times crying as she mourned the life she had lost. Tonight, though, there had been no tears. Just memories of her family and the friends she lost in the raid.
She was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn't hear anyone approach until a voice suddenly said, "You're up awful late."
She jumped and turned to see Blackbeard stood next to her. She looked away from him, still unable to maintain eye contact with the man who was supposed to be her "captain".
"I could say the same to you," she muttered.
"I don't tend to sleep very well."
(Y/N) dared a quick glance at Blackbeard. His face didn't give anything away, but she wondered the context behind his words. He was the most feared pirate captain in the world, what caused him to be sleepless? Was he haunted by the images of the people he had killed? Or was it something that went back even further than his pirate days?
"I'd ask if it's the snoring, but you have your own quarters so you should be safe from that," he said.
(Y/N) was shocked to feel a smile pulling at the corner of her lips. "Actually, Fang snores so loudly that I can hear it in my quarters."
She was more shocked to hear Blackbeard genuinely laugh at her comment. "Yeah, I feel like I can sometimes, too."
He was hesitant for a moment, but he decided to settle next to her, leaning against the small space of wall left next to her. His shoulder brushed against hers, but for once, she didn't feel the urge to cringe away from a touch.
"I like to watch the water when I can't sleep, too," he said. "It's very peaceful and calming."
"I think about jumping in and swimming away sometimes," (Y/N) blurted before she could stop herself.
Blackbeard looked over at her, but she refused to look back at him. "Where would you go?"
She shrugged. "To the nearest land, and then try and find a way back to my parents."
"I hope you're a strong swimmer, then, because there isn't any land for miles."
(Y/N) laughed, humorlessly. "Actually, I'm quite shit at swimming. I'd probably drown. But it's a fantasy I often have when I'm here at night."
A silence fell over them. Blackbeard was still looking at her. If she had dared to meet his gaze, she would've seen a look of pity on his face. Blackbeard was more than aware of what (Y/N) had lost when they raided her ship and his crew stupidly took her as a captive instead of killing her or leaving her on the ship they had invaded. Despite what most people thought, he wasn't heartless. Not completely, anyways. He had a soft spot that very few people were able to get to, and (Y/N) had somehow managed to get to do it with just one terrified look.
"Tell me about your parents," he said.
She finally looked at him, curious. "What do you want to know?"
"Anything."
She thought for a moment, wondering if this was some sort of test or something. But the look on his face was sincere, a look that she hadn't seen from him since being taken aboard the ship.
"My father is a painter," she started. "He met my mother at a gallery where his art was hung. She was betrothed to someone else at the time, but she always said she saw my father for the first time and immediately fell in love with him. She said she begged her father - my grandfather - for days and days to break off the engagement to the other man so she could marry my father instead."
"And did he?"
(Y/N) smiled as she nodded. "Eventually, yeah. It took a lot of convincing. The man my mother was supposed to marry was from a wealthy family, so my grandfather wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of her wanting to marry a painter instead. Apparently, my father ended up making some sort of beautiful painting that persuaded both of my grandparents."
Blackbeard raised an eyebrow at her. "Apparently?"
"Well, I've never seen it. Mum claims that my grandparents had it, but they passed before I was born and most of their possessions were sold."
"So you don't believe the painting exists?"
"I believe my father painted something beautiful, but he probably sold it for a lot of money to bribe my grandfather into letting him marry mum instead."
"Smart man, then."
The two of them laughed. The atmosphere around them began to feel less tense, which was probably the biggest shock to (Y/N). She didn't expect to see a softer side to the man who was known for breaking just about every law in existence, and maybe even some that hadn't even been invented yet. Although, she hadn't expected him to take mercy on her when his crew kidnapped her either.
"Are you their only child?" Blackbeard asked.
"No, I have five siblings actually. Two sisters, three brothers. Six of us in total."
He winced. "God, your poor mum."
(Y/N) laughed again. "Yeah, it's definitely not something I strive for in life. By my age she already had two kids, but I can't imagine even having one."
There was a pause, like Blackbeard was thinking, before he asked, "Did you have a husband? Or a betrothed?"
(Y/N) also paused, considering the question for a moment. "No. My parents didn't believe in the arranged marriages. They wanted us to marry for love, and I haven't quite found that love yet."
Blackbeard nodded and they fell back into a silence again. (Y/N) found herself leaning closer against him, the light brush of their shoulders becoming more than that. He leaned into her as well until she was all but pressed against his side.
"Thank you for sparing me," (Y/N) said, breaking the silence. "This may not have been my ideal outcome from being captured, but it certainly beats the alternative."
Blackbeard smiled. "You're welcome. I'm glad I spared you."
She wasn't sure how long they ended up standing there, leaning against one another and watching the water, but eventually (Y/N) felt her eyes growing heavy. Her head lulled to the side, resting against Blackbeard's shoulder. She felt him tense beside her for a moment, which was enough to jolt her back to reality.
"I guess I should get to bed," she said. She started to walk towards the cabins, but stopped to turn back to Blackbeard. "Goodnight, captain."
"Ed."
Her brows furrowed. "What?"
"My name, it's actually Ed. If you want to call me that, I mean. I wouldn't mind."
She smiled. "Ed. Goodnight, Ed."
"Goodnight (Y/N)."
~~~~~~
In the days that followed, (Y/N) found herself more drawn to Ed, and it seemed he felt the same way. He would often call on her to spend time together, leave her notes in her quarters to meet him once everyone else had gone to bed so they could spend some time alone, he even once allowed her to be present during a meeting with Izzy where they were trying to figure out the next destination of the ship. Izzy was very clearly not happy with the new addition, and that quickly became the last time (Y/N) was ever involved with those types of meetings.
She started to open up more to her other crewmates, but not as much as she did with Ed. It was a great shock to her, but she found herself developing a kinship with him.
Maybe even more than that. Maybe she was developing feelings for him that she was too scared to admit to.
But all those feelings came out one day when an otherwise beautiful, calm day at sea was interrupted by the harsh jolt of something hitting the water beside them, causing the waves to nearly capsize the ship.
"What the fuck was that?" Fang said, rushing to the side to look over. The other crewmates followed just in time to see a large black object fall into the water mere inches away from the ship, causing another wave to throw all of them to the floor.
"We're being attacked!" Izzy called from the crow's nest. "Everyone, get in position!"
(Y/N) was left confused and scared as she watched the other crewmates scramble around the ship. She had never been told what to do in the event of an attack. Surprisingly, they hadn't been the ones to be attacked since she joined the crew. They had done plenty of attacking, but Ed was insistent upon her not being involved in any of that. Not that she minded, the last thing she wanted to do was to fight other blood thirsty pirates.
But it seemed now she had no choice. She couldn't run to her quarters and hideaway from the attack. That's how she was captured but Ed's men in the first place, and she wasn't about to become a captive on another ship. Her only defense was to try and figure out how to fight.
Another cannonball hurtled through the sky, this time flying over the ship and landing in the water on the other side, throwing the shipmates off their balance yet again. (Y/N) fell onto the deck, the impact knocking the wind out of her. Her head was spinning as she looked up to see someone climbing over the side of the boat and onto the deck. She let out a shriek as she realized it was not a member of their crew, but rather their attackers were coming on board.
Before the attacker could get far, Izzy appeared almost out of nowhere and dug his sword into the attacker's chest. His eyes glazed over and his body went limp within seconds. Izzy shoved the lifeless body back over the side of the ship before turning to (Y/N). She couldn't tell if he was annoyed by her lack of fighting skills, or with the fact that the ship was being attacked in general.
"Get out of here," he said. "Hide below deck where the gunpowder and weapons are. They'll want Ed, so they won't go anywhere near there."
She nodded, still a bit shocked by everything going on and by Izzy's brief moment of kindness. He turned his back on her to keep fighting the other attackers that were starting to board the ship. While he and the other crewmates kept them busy, (Y/N) quickly slipped below deck and went exactly where Izzy told her to go. Their weapons hold was full of barrels and other large boxes holding the weapons they had taken from previous raids. (Y/N) wedged herself between a few barrels, hoping she was out of sight enough if anyone did happen to come down.
All she could hear above was the sounds of feet pounding against the desk, and louder sounds of bodies hitting the floor. She flinched with every loud thud over her head, wondering if it was an attacker or one of her crewmates that had gone down. She wondered where Ed was, if he had gotten wind of the attack before any of the attackers found him. She knew anyone who dared to go after the feared pirate captain Blackbeard would be no match for him, but there was still this fear in the pit of her stomach whenever she thought about the possibility of Ed being ambushed and harmed.
She froze as she heard footsteps descending the stairs leading into the weapons area. She waited, hoping that whoever it was would just move along, but she didn't hear any movement that would tell her what they were doing. She held her breath, but her heart was pounding so hard that she was sure that whoever it was could hear her.
Footsteps began to move through the room. She shrank further behind the barrels she was using as a hiding spot. She was shaking so violently that her vision was starting to blur. What was she going to do if the person who came down found her? She hadn't brought a weapon, she had no idea how to fight, and there was no way she was getting past the person and back up onto the deck before they could grab her. She was truly and royally fucked.
She couldn't contain a gasp as one of the barrels moved and an unfamiliar man sneered down at her.
"I thought I saw someone run down here," he said. "What's wrong, pretty girl? You don't know how to fight the big bad pirates?"
Suddenly, she had flashbacks of when Izzy had found her first and taken her captive. She thought he was scary at the time, but Izzy was nothing compared to this pirate. She was sure that if he took her, that would be the end of her. She would never see Ed again, and he would never know which of the attackers had taken her last breath.
Fear was starting to overflow within her, so much so that tears were starting to form in her eyes. This just made the man laugh.
"Ain't that cute? Tears aren't going to save you, pretty girl."
(Y/N) shut her eyes tightly as the man began to reach for his weapon. She didn't hear another set of footsteps coming down the stairs, nor did she see someone coming up behind the new attacker. But she heard the sound of a blade piercing flesh, followed by the sound of the man making noises she wished she didn't know existed. She opened one eye in time to watch the man topple over, lifeless, and to see Ed stood behind him.
"Ed," she breathed, a sob escaping her lips as she did.
He sheathed his blade and quickly took (Y/N) into his arms. He held her tightly as she began to sob.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled into her hair. "I'm so fucking sorry. I didn't know you were down here until I finally managed to find Izzy. I would've had you hidden in a safe place if I knew you were here."
"Izzy told me it was safe down here," (Y/N) said, her words muffled in Ed's leather. "He said they would be after you and no one would come down here."
"They normally don't, but this fucker saw you come down here and decided to come after you. Fuck, I should've come looking for you the minute they started attacking us."
"You had a ship to protect."
"I don't give a fuck about the ship. I only give a fuck about you."
She pulled away from his embrace to look up at him. For the first time, (Y/N) saw fear in Ed's eyes. He knew she was safe, he was holding her, seeing her, after saving her from being killed herself, but still she could see how scared he had been that he might've lost her. That if he had been just a few seconds later, he would've come down to find her dead body instead.
Ed wasn't afraid of an attack or of losing his ship. He was afraid of losing her.
Before she could stop herself, she took hold of his face and pulled him in for a kiss. He didn't stop her. In fact, he reached one hand up to gently cup her face. She held on to his leather like it was her lifeline, and he held on to her like she was his.
"I've wanted to do that for so long," he said once they pulled apart from each other.
"You didn't do it, though. I did," she teased.
"Yeah, but I still kissed you back, so it counts."
"But you didn't initiate the kiss."
"I still kissed you, so it counts."
(Y/N) giggled and leaned forward to kiss him again. Ed wrapped one arm around her lower back and pulled her closer to him. The kiss became passionate quickly, with Ed's hand starting to move lower on (Y/N)'s body.
If it weren't for the sound of someone clearing their throat, it probably would've gone further than that too.
Ed and (Y/N) broke apart and turned to see Izzy stood at the bottom of the stairs. He was looking between the two of them, an amused look on his face.
"Your wounded need you captain," he said.
"Oh, yes, right," Ed said. "I'll be right up. Can you, uh, can you send someone down to deal with this man? He's already dead, but I want to make sure his body burns the same way he will be in Hell."
"Right away, sir."
(Y/N) was sure she saw a smirk on Izzy's face as he climbed up the stairs again.
"Come, someone needs to have a look at you," Ed told her.
She shook her head. "I'm fine. No one hurt me."
"I just want to be sure. Then, you're staying in my quarters tonight. I can't have you out of my sights after this."
She smiled and nodded. "Yes, captain."

IF REQUESTS ARE STILL OPEN I LOVE YOUR WRITING OH MY FUCKING GOSH
May I please have Edward Teach with a pirate reader who is really sarcastic and funny and kind, but he asks maybe Izzy why you’re so nice all the time and Izzy is just like “insert very traumatic past here” and Ed is like…. “What”
You can make it steddy hands if you’re more comfy with that dynamic or just Ed!
Make sure to take care of yourself!
Sorry this took literally so long for me get done, I hope this is what you were wanting
Summary: Set pre-season 1
Relationships: Ed x gn reader, Ed & Izzy, reader & Izzy
Word count: 1.1K+
Warnings: brief mentions of past trauma, childhood trauma and neglect
Ed has found himself enraptured by you since the moment you stepped onto Hornigold’s ship those six months ago. He’s used to seeing people downtrodden by life, walking around the deck with their heads hanging low, the weight of the world on their shoulders. But not you, no since the moment you joined the crew there’s been a lightness about you, a joy that surely doesn’t belong in a place like this, but does all the same.
In some ways you reminded him of himself as a young boy, before he’d seen the dark side of his father and crossed a line he could never come back from. He’d spend hours making the local kids laugh by doing silly things, basking in the attention it brought him. He’d always remember the smile he could bring to his mother’s face just by telling her a joke or two.
You seemingly had never lost that spark like he had. You were insanely funny, always the first one to crack a joke to boost crew morale. Incredibly sarcastic too, which saw you get on well with Izzy, which is not an easy feat. And your kindness, Ed’s not sure he’s ever met someone so willing to do things for others. You’re always finishing other’s chores when they are too exhausted, sharing your food despite only getting rations yourself.
Ed had been wary the first time you’d done a favour for him, offering to cover his watch because you had thought he’d seemed overly tired, not even accepting his offer to swap shifts. He’d waited days for the catch, waiting for you to ask him for a favour in return, but it never came. In fact it was only a few days later you were offering to do something else for him. It was rare and admirable, and it only made Ed feel even more drawn to you.
Ed has never been a nervous person, but at first whenever he was talking to you he’d always find himself lost for words. He had wanted to get it right, to feel that he deserved your time and attention. Not that you’d ever think that way of course. What he hadn’t known at the time was that you felt the exact same way about him. You admired how strong he seemed despite the life he had found himself in. Ed has a way of talking that could have the whole crew enamoured, especially you, every time the man talks you find yourself getting lost in his words, his voice.
You always try to be kind to everyone, but sometimes maybe a tiny bit more of your kindness was directed at Ed. For you, Ed was the light in the dark, a warm bowl of soup on a chilly evening on deck. From the moment you stepped foot on Hornigold’s ship and spotted the man with the long black hair, you’d known that there was something special about him. Life had not been so kind to you, but with Ed you could forget all that, even if just for a little while. Being with him, it helped dampen down the darkness in your mind that plagued you both awake and asleep.
Iz?” Ed nudges his friend as they sit side-by-side in the crow’s nest.
“Hm?” Izzy grunts, eyes fixed on the horizon.
“Do you ever feel that we should be more positive about shit, that it would make things easier?”
“Nothin’ makes this life easier, Eddie. I don’t think being more positive would do shit.”
“It works for y/n.” Ed points out.
“Just another coping mechanism, we all have ‘em.”
“You mean, you don’t think they’re actually like that?”
“Nah, it’s just to hide all that darker shit.” Izzy replies, taking a swig of his beer.
Ed looks to Izzy slightly shocked, you’d never mentioned anything to him, but really he should’ve known. Everyone on that ship has something, things that they keep hidden, he knew that better than most.
“They told you?”
“Walked in on them crying down in the brig one day, think they’d had a flashback or somethin’. They told me some stuff about their past.”
Ed found that he wasn’t actually that surprised that you’d at some point confided in Izzy, the two of you had become decent friends over the months. He was just glad that you’d confided in someone, even if it hadn’t been him.
“Like what?” Ed asks.
“Eddie, I dunno if it’s my place.”
“Please mate, I just wanna know how badly the person I care about is suffering.”
Izzy nods in understanding. “Alright, I’ll tell you some but you should speak to them about the rest.”
Ed listens carefully as Izzy explains the life you had lived before you became a pirate. The neglect from your parents from a young age, leaving you to fend for yourself from a young age. The time you’d spent living on the street and the subsequent harm you had found yourself in time and time again. If this is the undetailed version then he’s scared to hear the detailed one. Learning that the person he loves has suffered so deeply, and all this time you’ve felt that you’ve had to hide it behind this facade just to get through the day.
“Shit.” Is all Ed can find to reply to everything Izzy’s just told him.
“Yeah.” Izzy replies before taking another swig of beer.
“Hey,” Ed whispers as he joins you in your bunk, snuggling in beside you in the small bed.
“Hi,” you reply half-asleep, immediately feeling safer by Ed’s presence.
You turn to look at him, his features illuminated by the moonlight peeking through the nearby window. Which is when you notice the sadness etched into his features, the slight furrowing of his brow.
“Are you okay, babe?”
“Yeah, just some things Izzy said.” Ed replies, failing to meet your gaze.
“About what?” You ask, but you have a feeling you already know based on Ed’s demeanour.
“About your past,” Ed mumbles. “Look don’t be mad, I basically forced him to tell me, and he only told me some of it.”
“I’m not mad babe,” you assure him, and you really weren’t, it was nice that you have people who care about you so much. Although you might tease Izzy a little for giving away your secrets so easily.
“Really?” Ed asks hopefully.
“Really,” you assure him as you lace your fingers together. “I’m kinda tired, but tomorrow maybe I could tell you more, if you’d like?”
Ed nods, a small smile gracing his features. “I’d like that.”
You snuggle up to him, breathing in his scent as his strong arms envelop you. Tomorrow will be difficult, you’ll tell him things that have plagued you for years. In return he’ll share some things that he’s never shared with anyone. You’ll both feel lighter for doing so, and the bond between you will strengthen even further. But for now you allow yourself to be lulled to sleep by Ed’s gentle breathing.

On Your Knees, Love (OFMD One-Shot)
Tumblr media
Ed Teach/Blackbeard x GN!Reader 18+ ONLY / requests are open and encouraged
Summary: You find out Ed has a thing for having his hair played with.
CW: nsfw, sub!Ed, dom!Reader, shin grinding (lmao- what a tag)
OFMD Tag List: (send an ask to be added to a tag list!)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___
If someone had told you that in x amount of months, Edward Teach, the Blackbeard, would be whimpering at your feet and begging you to let him cum, you would have shot them in the face probably for being so ridiculous.
And yet, on his hands and knees, rutting against your leg like a mutt in heat, was your Ed. You had to take a moment, actually, to really let the sight before you sink in properly. Edward Teach, humping at you and making those delicious sounds just for you. All for you.
Ed was usually very submissive anyway, but you’d made the mistake this morning of playing with his hair in bed before the chores of the day forced the both of you to get up. Your fingers had snagged on a knot and before you could apologise, Ed had let out this noise- this little choked-off whimper that he’d tried to hide from you and that just wouldn’t do. No secrets, thank you.
“Ed,” you’d said carefully, working the knot out slowly so as not to pull. The man hummed in response, not daring to look at you. “Is there something you want to tell me, love?”
Ed had shook his head and replied with a confident- “nah, don’t think so.”
So you’d worked the rest of the knot out before promptly wrapping your fingers around a soft lock and yanking- hard. Ed had let out a yelp, hand flying to meet yours stuck in his hair, though that yelp had trailed off into a deeply incriminating groan, and from over his shoulder you could see his dick twitch in his briefs.
The rest was history, really.
It had taken no time at all to get off the bed and order him to his knees in front of you. Pretty thing that he was didn’t fight you all that hard about it (or at all), and you enjoyed the sight of the flashes of skin peeking through his gown before you softly patted at his head and asked him to confess this little secret one more time.
“Okay, okay,” he rolled his eyes. “I like having my hair played with, alright? Now, are you gonna fuck me or what?”
You’d hummed and lightly pulled at another lock, and when his eyes fluttered shut, you decided that was it. You had to see what else you could make him do with just a few yanks on those greying locks.
“Not quite.”
And so, that’s how you arrived to where you were now- with Blackbeard’s arms wrapped around the back of your legs, and his hard cock rubbing against your shin through his soft underwear. You had both your hands in his hair now, taking turns between yanking and massaging his scalp.
Ed had drooled a wet patch into your own underwear, face pressed into your thigh. God, he was pretty like this.
“P-please,” he whined, peering up at you with those doe eyes of his. “Needa cum, please let me cum.”
You hummed thoughtfully, petting at his hair.
“Have you been a good boy, huh?”
Ed nodded desperately, brows scrunching as he fought not to cum in his pants.
“Yeah, alright,” you answered, smiling down at him. “Cum for me, love.”
Ed panted out a thank you and worked his hips in earnest, mumbling and whining to himself as he got closer and closer to the edge. All it took was one more hard yank and he was spurting cum over himself in his pants, ropes and dribbles of it creating wet patches in the fabric as he ground out his high off you.
You shushed him comfortingly, massaging his abused scalp and leaning down to press a kiss on his forehead.
“There you go. That’s better, isn’t it?”
Ed nodded, letting himself lean back and stretch his muscles. He propped himself up with his arms behind his back and gave you a very blissed-out smile.
“Yeah, I think we’re gonna have to do that again, my love,” he grinned. “But later,” he added hastily.
“Mhm,” you hummed back, sitting down on the edge of the bed and rubbing at his thigh with your socked foot. “Sure thing, my dear. Whatever you want.”
“Don’t promise that,” he giggled. “Never know what I might ask for.”
“Precisely.”

The Blanket Fort
Edward Teach/Blackbeard x Reader (GN)
Word Count: 1,224 words
Summary: Blackbeard noticed you were having a hard week, so he builds you a blanket fort to cheer you up. <3 Some fluff, and some kissing.
Masterlist

The Blanket Fort
You were enduring a particularly grueling day aboard the ship. Blackbeard had recently enlisted a handful of fresh faces into the crew, thrusting the seasoned sailors into the role of mentors while simultaneously picking up the additional workload. The past few weeks had taken a toll, leaving you utterly drained. In moments like these, you found yourself lost in daydreams, yearning for a life outside of piracy.
Your journey on The Queen Anne’s Revenge began from its beginning. Edward had enlisted you during your shared time sailing under Hornigold’s command. Over the years, a strong bond had formed between you, Edward, and Izzy. Anyone who was observing your dynamic today would probably assume you weren’t close with anyone on the ship.
You chose to keep a low profile, focusing on your tasks without engaging in conversation. Your interactions with the crew were minimal, limited to responding to the first mate only when directly questioned. Despite Edward’s presence on deck for a while, you made no attempt to initiate a conversation with him. The day had left you drained, devoid of the energy required for social interactions.
As the afternoon wore on, you couldn’t help but observe the absence of Izzy and Blackbeard from the bustling deck. A sense of relief washed over you as the weight of Izzy’s watchful presence was momentarily lifted, granting you the freedom to focus on your tasks without him breathing down your neck. It wasn’t until the evening that both Izzy and Edward reappeared on deck, Izzy promptly dismissed the crew, granting them the freedom to go about their own personal business.
As you started your descent below deck, a pair of hands gently nudged your shoulders from behind, and Edward’s voice whispered softly into your ear.
“Come on,” he said with a cheerful tone, “there’s something I want to show you.”
Guiding you to the entrance of your cabin, Edward came to an abrupt halt. As one of the most seasoned members aboard The Queen Anne’s Revenge, you enjoyed the privilege of having your own room- a luxury that you had been particularly grateful for in recent weeks.
“You brought me here to show me my cabin?” you asked with a touch of grumpiness.
“No,” Blackbeard huffed. “Well, technically, yes,” he corrected swiftly before slowly swinging open the door to the cabin. “I wanted to show you this.”
As the door creaked open, your eyes were met with the sight of the most elaborate blanket fort you had ever seen. A myriad of blankets hung gracefully against the cabin walls, creating a cozy tent-like haven. The ceiling, adorned with cascading layers of fabric, completed the intricate structure. Pillows were strategically placed, inviting you inside to sink into their plush comfort. It was a whimsical refuge, a surprising and thoughtful gesture from Ed that left you momentarily speechless.
You bit your bottom lip, a smile spreading across your face, and turned to Edward. “You built me a blanket fort?” you whispered in awe.
“No,” he replied, before returning your smile back to you. “I built us a blanket fort,” he shared quickly, giving you a gentle nudge into the cabin.
Before long, you found yourself reclining on the plush pillows scattered across the floor. Edward rested his head on one, while your own head nestled against his chest. His arm encircled you, pulling you in close for an embrace that radiated warmth.
“Did you build all of this yourself?” you asked curiously, your eyes roaming over the blankets draped across the room.
“Nah. I made Iz help,” Blackbeard replied with a chuckle. “He’s fucking pissed about it.”
“Why go through all this trouble?” you inquired.
“You’ve been a dick lately, and I knew that meant you’re stressed out,” Edward replied, pulling you even closer to him.
“You’re not wrong,” you sighed. “It’s been one of those weeks where I find myself wishing I wasn’t a pirate,” you confessed quietly, knowing Edward would understand.
“If you weren’t a pirate, what would you be?” Edward asked, his tone playful. It was a familiar game, one of Edward’s favorites when the two of you found yourselves alone.
“Today, I’m seeing myself as a librarian,” you replied with a smile.
“You don’t even know how to read,” Edward snorted in response.
“Do you think that’s a dealbreaker?” you teased back. “Blackbeard, legendary captain on the seven seas, what would you be if you weren’t a pirate?”
“Jeff an accountant,” Blackbeard replied resolutely.
This prompted you to sit up and shoot him a look. “You’ve chosen an accountant the last few times.” you whined.
“That’s because It sounds pretty fucking cool,” Blackbeard replied, raising his eyebrows.
“Choose something different,” you huffed, rolling your eyes at Edward.
“Fine… Jeff the Innkeeper,” Edward replied. “I could run an inn,” Blackbeard said confidently, pondering the idea.
You gracefully propped yourself up on your knees, carefully avoiding the blankets above your head, and theatrically surveyed the room with your hands on your hips. “Well, Jeff, this is a truly beautiful room you’ve got here.”
Blackbeard mirrored your stance, kneeling on his knees and adopting a custom services persona. “Best room in the house,” he replied, putting on a voice. “I hope it will suit all your needs. It has a lot of amenities. Plenty of fresh linens.”
“What about mints or some of those little chocolates?” you asked, briefly breaking character. “Inns always have a little treat for guests to enjoy when they go to their room.”
Edward surveyed the surroundings, contemplating what he could offer. “No chocolates or mints,” he whispered. An idea flashed across his face, and a mischievous grin played on his lips.
“You just want something you can enjoy?” he clarified once more.
In response, you playfully nodded your head, a teasing glint in your eyes.
His hands reached toward the side of your face, gently pulling you closer as he pressed his lips against yours, the kiss deliberate and unhurried. You reciprocated, savoring the moment, and felt him slowly withdraw. The warmth of the kiss lingered, and you couldn’t help but feel a pleasant heat spreading across your cheeks. “I did enjoy that,” you whispered, meeting Edward’s gaze. His eyes reflected admiration as he gazed back at you.
“Does Jeff kiss all of his guests?” you asked with a laugh.
“Only the ones he fancies,” Edward replied, a sweet smile gracing his face.
“Got any more of those?” you asked quietly, looking up at him as he cupped your face.
“I’ve got tons,” he whispered back, leaning in for another tender kiss. This time, neither of you pulled away, and soon you found yourselves reclining on the pillows, with Edward on top of you. His lips continued their journey, tracing a path down your neck, leaving a trail of tender kisses that sent shivers down your spine. The sensation of his long beard tickled your skin. Finally, his lips found yours again, the connection deepening as time passed.
For a moment, he paused and simply gazed at you, his thumb lightly stroking your face. “Feeling less stressed?” he asked with a warm smile.
You responded with a gentle nod, a small smile gracing your face. The blanket fort had worked its magic, and you found comfort not only surrounded by the soft blankets, but also in the company of Edward.

nightmares: ed teach x reader, no s2 spoilers
Ed has nightmares. He always has, as long as you've known him. He's gotten used to sharing a bed, finally, but in the early days it wasn't uncommon for you to wake up on the floor or to a punch to the face.
Things are less violent now.
You still wake up when he whimpers in his sleep -- of course you do -- but now you hold him tight and stroke his messy hair instead of bracing yourself. Some nights, he sounds like a hurt puppy, and it tears at your heartstrings. Others, he silently cries.
Ed doesn't like to talk about what he dreams of. You think he's mildly superstitious, in the way most sailors are. Maybe he believes talking about it will make it come true. Whatever the reason, when he jolts awake next to you or in your arms, what he wants is to be distracted.
"Saw some whales today," you tell him one night.
"A pod," he tells you.
"Yeah," you say, "a pod."
You flop on your back and he drapes himself over your chest.
"I love whales," he says. "Big, fuck-off guys. Wish I were a whale."
"You don't," you accuse sleepily. "You like being yourself."
"Not really," Ed says, breaking your heart in two words. There's some silence. And then: "Would you still love me if I were a whale?"
You give this all the consideration it deserves, which is to say nearly none.
"Of course," you tell him. "But I'd love you from afar, because separating you from your pod would be cruel."
Ed's hand fists in your nightshirt.
"It would," he says. "Separating me from my pod would be very cruel."
He gives you a speaking look from under his eyelashes.
"I guess I'll stay Ed," he says, rubbing his face against yours like a cat.

Would Dr Ratio be like this? Honestly, I haven't meet him in hsr yet, but he seems like an insufferable man lmaoo
"Go ahead, Y/n, finish it."
He smiled somewhat warmly, yet it didn't calm your anxious heart at all. With how he presented himself, you could've believed that he was one of those genius people. Okay, fine, he was smart. But in your defense, you would believe that wholeheartedly if he didn't do stupid stuff like this to you.
"Come on now, Y/n. I believe our frequently 'tutoring session' have brought you some new knowledge, does it not?"
"Well—"
"Ah, of course it did. I was the one who teach you, after all. There's no way you wouldn't be able to understand them."
His once furrowed eyebrows relaxed a bit as he eyed your figure. His stares, always unnerving. It made you uncomfortable on many occasions. Whether it'd be the stares that had always been there, or the fact that he was now assessing you with some kind of test was absolutely outrageous. Why would he — of all people — put so much interest on you?
"In any case, I assure you that even those simpletons could solve this equation, so no need to fret over it like you're not above them. You'll be able to finish it."
"Oh, really now?"
You weren't a genius like him or even near his intellect, no, you were only a normal person who had an average iq! Seriously, by now, you were just tired of him being all bossy with how you do stuff in life. Even the time and limit you do your bath was managed by him! So, how could you not get angry? It was your time to relax down from all his antics. Ugh.
He was being overly insensitive with your boundaries. But despite you always telling him that, he always thought that it was you being a dramatic person you always were and dismiss every other reasons you had.
"Alright, I have some other errands I need to do, so I expect you to finish the test in 30 minutes. I'm giving you a lot more time than usual, aren't I being so nice now?"
"... if only I could say that about you ...."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing."
You had no choice but to try and finish the test. After all, there was no way out from his stubbornness. He would somehow always know where you were despite you not even telling a single soul about your location. It was scary at first, but now, you just didn't care anymore. In your mind, you just hoped that he wouldn't be as cruel as he would always be.
If this test was not finished in time, you knew that whatever he had planned for you after was not going to be fun.
In the end, though, you did not finish the test.
Time went by too quickly that you didn't notice before he eventually told you oh so nicely. You then ended up getting punished by him. By the end of your punishment, your legs were a little wobbly with how hard he was going. Huft. At least, it felt good when you both did it. Well, except for the fact that he was still teaching you things while going down on you. That part was the most exhausting one.

Izzy would say, "I love you" through gritted teeth whilst being unable to make eye contact. Then, once the words are out in the open and unable to be taken back, he would wait for your inevitable laugh or sound of disgust. Why wouldn't you? Who could love someone so completely wretched as him? But against all of the poisoned things he believes to be true, you would do the exact opposite. There would be no laugh. No venomous sneer. Instead, he'd be met with you encircling him in your arms. Though he tenses initially, still expecting some kind of negative reaction, your hug would continue to be...well, just a hug. And with that, the pirate would melt into your hold and perhaps, melt even further when you whispered back those three little words.
(I'm considering writing a multi-chapter Izzy fic...)

You’re Our Kid
Dads!Blackbonnet x Daughter!Reader
Cw: Angst, (light) Canon Typical Violence, Harsh self image, not being beta read
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izzy Hands was pissed off. Granted, Izzy Hands is always pissed about everything but today was unlike anything the crew of the revenge had seen so far.
In these past few months he had watched Blackbeard, the most feared pirate in the world change before his very eyes. He was cheerful, having people call him ed and falling for Stede Bonnet. It wasn’t right.
Pirates weren't supposed to have attachments. The only thing you could trust was that they were always plotting against each other. Always ready to stab each other in the back or the side. But now ed had a kid and the whole world was upside down.
“Izzy” you called running onto the deck to greet the man “Sorry i’m late, i was helping frenchie with making dinner and I lost track of time. Are you ready for sword practice?”
He looked you up and down with cold eyes. Despite the hours of work you were still happy, still smiling, still the thing that had turned the most feared captain on the seven seas soft.
You had to go.
“Okay kid. We’re going to start with dueling technique” he rasped, drawing his scabbard from his waist and cleaning off the blade. “You’re going to have to face down all sorts and it’s your job to find your way out of it without help.”
You nodded dutifully, listening as the grizzled man eyed you up and down like a cat eyeing a mouse.
“The key is to catch your target off guard,” he continued “never expect a fair fight and never expect backup. In this life you only have yourself to rely on.”
In a sharp movement, Izzy swung his sword, cutting your wrist as your sword spun out of your hand. You glimpsed to the side to see where it had fallen but in the second you had looked away it was already too late.
You fell to the deck, head slamming against the wood hull. The world spun as you looked up, the sun stinging your eyes as you blearily looked at the world. Any mercy that Izzy had shown before had fallen away and as you stared up at what he really was; he was a killer.
Your sword was too far away. “Ste-” you started to call, desperate for some, any kind of help but were cut off as the the sharp point of izzy’s sword began to dig into your neck.
“Oh no you don’t” Izzy sneered “you don’t get to call for their help every time you’re stuck. Do you really think that they care for you? That they see you as anything but a nuisance? You are a passing fancy, and once they get bored of you, they’ll cast you off just like everything else.”
Izzy raised his arms again, scabbard in hand. This time the blow was meant to be deadly. You raised your hands to your face, waiting for the cut of the blade.
“IZZY” a booming voice called from behind the man. Izzy turned his gaze to see Ed running at him full speed, eyes practically glowing with rage as he disarmed his first mate and tackled him to the ground.
As the men fought, you could feel stede hoist you up to your feet. “Its okay my dear, you’re safe now. We’ve got you” he said gently.
The world seemed to sway as the blonde lifted you up. Closing your eyes, you let your head fall against his chest. Everything seemed to hurt and the world was fading further and further away from you.
“My dear i need you to stay awake” Stede said, tenderly stroking your jaw until your eyes opened again. His eyes seemed wilder than you had ever seen before, usual silky timber thick with anxiety. “What did he do darling? What happened?”
You blinked your eyes blearily, your pupils moving in and out of focus. “Me n’ Izzy were training. Said i made you two soft and that I had to go. Next thing I knew I was knocked to the ground.”
Stede’s heart had never broken more than in that moment. You looked so broken, and could not seem to stop shaking beside your best efforts.
“You son of a bitch” Ed snarled, finally pinning Izzy to the ground “what the fuck did you think you were doing? You could have killed her!”
Izzy’s face hardened “I’m doing what has to be done. What you don’t have the courage to do.”
If Ed hadn’t been mad before, he was furious now. He saw your crumpled form clinging onto stede to stay up, the fear in your eyes as you watched ed’s wrath come forward in unholy waves.
“You’re lucky I didn't kill you right here, right now.” Ed spoke, voice dangerously low, his face pushing into Izzy's “If you ever so much as think about hurting my daughter I won't stop at the toes next time.”
Ed pushed himself off, signaling to two of the crew to secure the first mate. “Lock him up in the brig. Bastard needs some time to rot”
It was just as he said this that your legs finally gave out, the world fading to inky black as you faded down into oblivion in the care of two leatherbound arms.
The gentle rocking of the boat stirred you from your sleep, your eyes opening to the dim captain’s quarters. Gingerly, you began to raise your head up off of the couch but tendrils of white hot pain reached up your neck.
“Don’t move darling” Stede cooed, pushing your hair back out of your face. “Ed’s gone to fetch some broth and a towel for you. Just relax”
Your head swam, a million questions floating through but one seemed to break through.
“Where’s Izzy?” you asked, your voice tightening suddenly.
Stede’s brows furrowed in confusion “Well, the boys threw him in the brig but i figure Ed wants to throw him in to the bottom of the ocean”
“You should let him out. He was only trying to protect Ed, I wasn't on my mark. I’ll be ready next time.” you spoke, fingers twisting into the fine blanket draped over you.
“He tried to kill you y/n. That man is not walking free any time soon”
“He was right, Stede!” you said, voice cracking as tears began to fill your eyes.
“Right about what little sparrow?” Ed’s voice called from the door.
Silent tears began to stream down your face, the weight of izzy’s words seeming to suddenly flatten you.
“Izzy said i was a bad influence on you. That my being here softened you and that you were better off without me. That you would move on just like everyone else does” you said barely above a whisper, unable to say it any louder before the tears overtook you.
When you looked to the side you expected two sullen faces in stark agreement, but as you looked to the men they had wet eyes taking in everything you had just said.
Ed was the first to break the silence, clearing his throat as it had tightened up. “Is it okay if i touch you y/n?” he asked gently.
You nodded, unable to speak without devolving into a stream of tears. Ed picked up your legs to sit on the couch, slipping them back over him as he took his position on the couch. Stede stayed at your side on the floor, watching you.
“Izzy may have known what i wanted when i was a young man” Ed started, choosing his words carefully as he traced patterns onto your calves “but he hasn’t understood me for a long time. This ship, Stede, You- that’s all I want now.”
You nodded your head slowly “So am i-”
Ed gave out a short laugh “Are you my kid? I’d say in all ways except biologically, yes.”
“And you’re also my kid” Stede interjected, brown eyes darting between the two of you “and as long as me and ed are alive your home is right here with us.”
“Good, that’s exactly where i want to be” you said.
And as the ship sailed on, taking you to unknown places and adventures you knew that there was nothing that would tear the three of you apart.

Bloodsucker Pt. 2 (Vampire!Frenchie x GN!Reader)
Takes place post-season 1, pre-season 2 once again!
Pairing: Vampire!Frenchie x GN!Reader
Word Count: 3.8k
Warnings: Blood, death, detailed violence, vampire feeding, fluff???, they’re goofy your honour
((Oh my god I’m SO sorry for how long I’ve been gone, writer's block hit me like a mf but I’M FINALLY BACK!! Back with pt 2 of the vampire!Frenchie fic B). I took some liberties on the mechanics/weaknesses of vampires in this part (i.e. they can go out in the sun (but are prone to sunburns), how they act when they haven’t been able to feed in a while, etc), which I hope doesn’t screw up anything too much. If anyone would like an explanation of how vampires work in this AU, lmk and I’ll make a more detailed post about it. Also this came out a lot more platonic than i intended I’m so sorry lol. ALSO ALSO i probably wont write a part 3 unless it’s explicitly asked for, and if you guys do want a pt 3, let me know what you’d like to see in it and maybe i'll get around to it :D anyway, enjoy!))
To say you were now incredibly worried was an understatement.
Over the few days since the whole vampire accusation, things had only looked worse and worse for Frenchie. The opportunities to feed on bodies after raids were practically nonexistent because of the newly implemented rules and the crew had gotten annoyingly creative in their attempts to “ward off” the suspected vampire among them. You were afraid you were never going to be able to get the smell of garlic out of your nose after this all blew over since they had been hanging up bulbs and cloves everywhere you could imagine; you had even found a bulb stashed away in the storage closet you usually napped in, which you were quick to throw out of the nearest porthole.
Despite the crew’s valiant efforts, Frenchie had informed you that garlic didn’t actually repel vampires, but it did cause what you chalked up to be a minor allergic reaction in them. This was good news since Jim had forced every person on the ship to eat a raw clove shortly after the initial incident. You were never fond of garlic, so the experience was less than pleasant, but having to deal with a bleary-eyed and runny-nosed Frenchie afterward might’ve been worse.
But what really had you worried was the raids. Blackbeard’s strict schedule of at least one raid per day didn’t let up in the slightest with the discovery of a vampire on board, and as time went on, you noticed Frenchie acting… weirder than normal.
The exhaustion came first, which was one of the symptoms you expected from him not being able to feed. It started with him getting more tired than usual as the day went on, and then taking longer to wake up in the mornings. Next thing you knew, he started joining you on your cat naps in the closet, where you’d have to practically drag him out while he was still half asleep to avoid getting caught. Now, even in the middle of the day, he fought to keep his eyes open, and you had often caught him falling asleep standing up while leaning against a post.
Then there was the weakness. You had never been a particularly strong person before being forced into Blackbeard’s crew, but you knew Frenchie was at least a bit stronger than you due to his height. He had always been able to handle larger crates of treasure easily with the help of Jim, but now he could hardly keep himself on two feet, let alone transport cargo. There were several times when you’d send Frenchie down with a crate, you’d hear a loud clunk shortly after, and when you rushed down to check on him, the crate would be tipped over on the floor with Frenchie standing out of breath next to it and complaining that his arms hurt. It was even easier to tackle and drag him around now since he had little strength to pull away.
This didn’t prove useful in raids, both for his well-being and your mental health.
You had practically adopted the role of his bodyguard, having to save his ass from combatants on multiple occasions. In one particular instance, the raid had started fine. Sure, Frenchie was a bit drowsy, but it was nothing too concerning to you at the time. A few minutes later you were desperately trying to yank an enraged man off of Frenchie, who was pinned underneath him and screaming for you to do something. Jim eventually stomped over and repeatedly stabbed the attacker in the back, causing him to crumple over right on top of Frenchie. After Jim quickly returned to their combat, you then spent another minute trying to haul the now dead man off of Frenchie, who could barely lift the body an inch off of his chest.
Today, you decided to keep a keener eye on your companion as you boarded a new ship. While Blackbeard did his usual drawn-out and dramatic entrance, you were already watching Frenchie out of the corner of your eye, who was standing beside you. Well, standing the best he could. He was swaying slightly in place, his eyes repeatedly fluttering shut and jolting open again once he realized they had closed. You bit your cheek and turned your attention back to Blackbeard. He was fucked.
It wasn’t long before Blackbeard finished his spiel and the crew leapt into action, eager to slaughter any adversary they could get their hands on. You took a breath to try and calm your nerves before lightly slapping Frenchie on the back in an attempt to wake him up a bit more, rushing forward to join your crewmates soon after. He jumped at the contact and swivelled his head to see who had hit him, when he very suddenly realized that they were, in fact, in the middle of raiding a ship. He cursed under his breath before sluggishly following after you, clumsily setting up his “claws” in his hands.
As blood started to spill, you saw Frenchie perk up, whirling around to stare at a man who had just recently been felled by Fang. What he failed to notice was another man coming up behind him, sword drawn and ready to strike. You were quick to cross the deck towards the two, slicing a gash into the man’s chest without hesitation before turning to Frenchie. He was about to lunge for the body when you caught the scruff of his jacket, yanking him back. “Are you fuckin’ mental?” You hissed, struggling to keep Frenchie in place.
“Wh-huh? No, no, I’m good,” he slurred, his eyes locked onto the body as his tongue darted out to wet his lips. You groaned, slapping his face lightly. That caught his attention and his head snapped back to look at you with a glare. You paid the nasty look no mind, pulling Frenchie slightly closer to you as your face darkened with annoyance.
“Behave,” you growled before letting go of his jacket to twirl around and deflect an oncoming sword with your own. Frenchie rolled his eyes, mumbling something about how he wasn’t a dog and that he could control himself, gracelessly lunging at another poor sailor soon after.
You had just knocked the sword out of your opponent's hand when you heard the tear of flesh and the choked scream that could only be accredited to Frenchie’s handy work. When you turned around to check on him, he was salivating above the bleeding man with wide, unfocused eyes. He almost got a bite in had you not immediately abandoned your own scuffle to drag him away from the dying man once again.
The raid turned into one big game of keep away between you and Frenchie, much to your dismay. You’d turn your back on him for a second to focus on not being killed, and when you looked back at him a moment later, he’d be hovering over another dead or dying body that you inevitably had to yank him back from, and the process would repeat. You were starting to worry that it looked far too suspicious to be normal, but not much was normal about the crew anyway with the way they ripped apart seamen and pirates alike.
Speaking of, the crew had torn this ship’s crew to shreds in record time, and soon everyone was standing in piles of blood, guts, and gore of their own making. Not a single soul was left alive aboard that ship.
You stopped your fretting over Frenchie for a second as you took in the sight of both the countless bodies that littered the bloodied deck, and the numb faces of your crewmates. Your heart sunk in your chest for a brief moment; the crew couldn’t keep doing this for much longer. The heavy footsteps of Blackbeard spurred you from your grief, instinctively yanking Frenchie back to your side after he had tried (and failed) to sneak over to another body.
Blackbeard’s cold gaze studied the crew, tilting his head slightly before speaking: “Alright, collect the plunder and let’s move on, lads.” His nonchalant voice cut through the melancholy mood of the crew like a hot knife, everyone flinching slightly before being quickly propelled into action. You huffed as you watched Blackbeard retreat to the confines of the Revenge, slowly turning to look at Frenchie with an agitated glare. He faltered under your gaze, taking on the expression and posture of a kicked puppy.
“You owe me big time,” you grumbled, poking an accusing finger into Frenchie’s chest. Before he could get a single apology or excuse in, you practically dragged Frenchie–who had started frequently stumbling as he walked–off of the raided ship and onto the Revenge. Despite your annoyance, you were quick to offer your support to him, letting him lean on you as the two of you trudged off that damned ship. He had protested, saying that you two had to haul treasure, but you knew he’d drop it anyway and kept walking.
It was hard to stay mad at Frenchie, it really was. The longer you walked in silence, the more guilty you felt about the whole situation.
You brought him down to his room and sat him on the bed, eying him warily as he flopped over onto the mattress and groggily blinked up at the ceiling. “So what exactly happens if you don’t drink blood for a long time?” You started, nervously wringing your hands out as you sat on the other end of the bed.
“Umm, I d-don’t know for sure,” he muttered, his head lolling from side to side as he struggled to keep himself awake, “I th-think I dry up and die or something.” You weren’t sure about the dying part, but you had noticed his cheeks becoming increasingly hollow over the past couple of days.
Again, you couldn’t help but feel like this was your fault. If you had just ignored that stupid gap in the wall, the crew never would have found out. You sighed, bouncing your knee nervously as you thought of what to do.
…Well, you did have an idea in mind, but you weren’t sure about going through with it.
Your mouth started moving on its own before you could really think the idea through: “What if I…” you paused, biting your lip with uncertainty. When Frenchie looked up at you with big eyes and that stupid pout, you knew you’d lost.
“What if I let you… feed on me?” You mumbled, your words hardly above a whisper, but Frenchie heard them loud and clear. He nearly jumped you, actually, taking hold of your shoulders and leaning forward with dizzying speed.
“Really? Like right now?” He exclaimed suddenly, sounding more energetic than he had in days. You grimaced, averting your gaze before sighing in defeat.
“I suppose. Can’t have my napping buddy shrivelling up on me now, can I?” You joked nervously, but it went right over Frenchie’s head as he grinned brightly.
“Oh my God, you’re the best!” He praised, engulfing you in a tight embrace. You wheezed, patting his back with a strained smile on your face.
“Yep. No problem,” you huffed, struggling to breathe, “just, uh, give me a sec to gather myself, yeah?” Frenchie nodded, willing to go along with anything to let him feed on you at this point. You sighed heavily, scooting backwards on the bed and leaning up against the wall, unbuttoning a few of your shirt’s top buttons to expose more of your shoulder.
“N-nothing too obvious, okay? Below the neck, preferably,” you stammered, watching warily as Frenchie practically foamed at the mouth. You straightened your back slightly, your fingers digging nervously into the tattered sheets of Frenchie’s bed as he slowly crawled on after you. It was… extremely creepy, with the way his eyes were blown wide and his lethargic movements mimicking that of a cat stalking its prey.
“Yeah, yep, ‘course,” he replied mindlessly, drawing closer and closer to you. He positioned himself dangerously close to the junction between your neck and shoulder, his warm breath fanning against your skin sending a shiver up your spine.
“How much do you think this is gonna hurt?” You questioned to give yourself a distraction, unable to stop yourself from shaking as Frenchie grabbed your shoulders to keep you still. You figured the answer was obvious, but maybe you were overestimating how painful it would be in your mind.
“A lot,” Frenchie stated bluntly before suddenly sinking his fangs into the flesh between your neck and shoulder.
You were not overestimating it.
If anything, you were severely underestimating how much it would hurt, and Frenchie’s blunt statement did nothing to describe the pain you felt.
You had to stop yourself from screaming, quickly slapping your hand over your mouth after a sharp inhale. It felt like two giant needles had just been stabbed into your shoulder, stinging like hell and almost making you queasy enough to pass out. Despite that, you clung to your consciousness, fighting to keep yourself quiet as Frenchie started to drink your blood properly. A cold creeping feeling crawled its way down your spine from your shoulder: it was excruciatingly painful and uncomfortable as you got colder and colder, but you held out for Frenchie’s sake.
Speaking of Frenchie, you couldn’t help but notice how incredibly… intimate this seemed on his part. Forget the location of the bite, Frenchie was making some questionable noises and hums as he continued to feed on you, pushing his body against yours and feverishly grasping at the other side of your neck. You could’ve sworn you saw his eyes roll back, but it was difficult to tell from this angle.
Before you could ponder that thought any longer, you started to get woozy, feeling unnaturally cold. “Frenchie,” you whined weakly, attempting to gently nudge him away. He didn’t budge, pressing himself against you further. You sighed, and with the little strength you had left, pushed against him with all your might. “Frenchie, get off!” You hissed, finally spurring him out of his daze as his fangs withdrew from your flesh. He stumbled backwards from the force, but managed to land on his feet as he was shoved off of the bed.
His breathing was heavy as he stared at you for a few seconds, his mouth parted slightly and his pupils still blown wide. It took a moment for him to process your sorry state before his skittish demeanor returned, gulping in what seemed like awe as he dragged his hands down the back of his neck to try and ground himself. He wasn’t really sure what to do now; usually his “meals” were already dead or dying. Not sure if he should move closer to you again, he could only quietly apologize: “S-sorry, sorry. God, that was…”
“Good?” You heaved, bracing yourself with your hands against your knees while your head was bowed in exhaustion. You stared up at Frenchie through bleary eyes, who had your blood smeared all over his face, looking very pleased with himself because of it.
“Oh, better than good. I haven’t had fresh blood in ages, and yours tasted heavenly.” Frenchie marveled, freezing after his unintentional hushed statement as he stared at you with wide eyes. You did unfortunately hear him, raising a brow at his mortified expression while your lips quirked into a small, teasing smile. His face flushed but he didn’t comment any further on the notion, looking away as his tongue darted out to nervously lick away some of the blood still left on his lips.
Before you could unpack all of that, a splitting migraine invaded your skull, causing your vision to go blurry as you made a strained sound of pain. You tried to hold yourself upright, but you could feel yourself quickly tipping forward from the sudden wave of dizziness that hit you.
Before you could fall far, Frenchie had swiftly caught you in his arms with a concerned cry of your name. “Oh Jesus fucking Christ, I haven’t killed you, have I?” You could faintly hear as you clung to your consciousness, trying your best to right yourself to no avail. You could feel yourself being gently picked up and moved slightly, and then placed back down on a soft surface.
“Fuck, fuck, I’ve killed them. What am I gonna tell the crew? Where am I gonna hide the body?” You could hear Frenchie fretting, the guilt finally kicking in for him. You groaned hearing his outlandish thoughts spoken aloud, weakly reaching your hand in his direction.
“I’m not dead, you fucker,” you croaked, trying to blink your heavy eyelids open.
You could hear Frenchie gasp, and a sound that vaguely sounded like something falling to the floor beside you. “I’m so sorry! I don’t know what came over me! I-I got carried away,” he apologized profusely, taking one of your hands in both of his own like you were on your deathbed. You snorted softly, a wobbly smile spreading across your face at the action.
“Relax. I don’t think you could kill me if you tried,” you teased in a weak voice, finally managing to get your eyes open to give him a look. You had expected him to be standing above you, but after a second of your eyes searching the room, you found that he had kneeled down on the floor next to the bed. You had to stop yourself from bursting into laughter at the sight.
Frenchie’s face scrunched up in confusion at your comment before a look of confusion and slight offence overtook it. “What the fuck’s that s’posed to mean? And why are you… giggling?” You managed to laugh weakly at his reaction as you turned your head away, bringing a small smile to Frenchie’s face in the process.
“N-nothing, it’s-” you cut yourself off with more hushed laughter as you looked at him again, bringing your free hand up to cover your mouth in an attempt to stifle your outburst.
“Is it because I’m kneeling? Because I’m worried that I killed my closest friend?” Frenchie taunted, though it was obvious that his words were all playful by the huge grin that spread across his face. You couldn’t stop laughing as he continued to speak, turning away from him to try and hide your face. You had no coherent answer for him, and that only encouraged Frenchie’s teasing.
“Wow. I just… this is unbelievable. I never thought you’d stoop so low, laughing at my… my concern for you,” he snarked, putting a hand on his chest in mock offence.
“Stop, stop! God, it hurts,” you exclaimed through strained giggles, clutching your stomach in pain with a wide grin on your face as your constant laughter started to give you a cramp.
Frenchie hadn’t taken your exclamation the right way initially, thinking that he actually did something to hurt you. His expression dropped almost immediately, trying to figure out what he had done as he started to withdraw his hand from yours. “O-oh, I-”
You were just as quick to snatch his hand back up when you noticed that he had started to pull away, nearly gasping as you did so. “N-no, no! You’re fine, Frenchie. It just hurts to laugh so much,” you explained hastily with a warm smile, easing his concerns.
It had been so long since you’d laughed that hard.
Frenchie’s face lit up with relief, and then quickly turned red with embarrassment. He smiled sheepishly, quite thankful that you had kept his hand in yours as he gave yours a soft squeeze. “Ah, right…”
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you laid on his bed, your eyes drifting down to where your hands interlocked. You had taken to idly running your thumb over Frenchie’s knuckles, a soothing gesture that you were focused on.
“B-but seriously; thank you. I, uhm… I needed that.” He mumbled, watching you run your thumbs over his knuckles with a soft expression.
“Yeah, clearly. I mean, fuck, do I even need to mention what just took place during the raid?” You ragged, playfully rolling your eyes as the lightheadedness slowly dissipated from your body. You sat up slowly with Frenchie’s help, hissing quietly as the puncture wounds on between your neck and shoulder were jostled.
Frenchie scoffed exasperatedly, slapping your arm lightly as a light blush spread across his face again. “Will you shut up? It wasn’t that bad.”
You gave Frenchie an unimpressed look, raising your eyebrows. You opened your mouth to rebuke him, but he was quick to shush you before a single sound could come from you.
“I don’t need you to recount it, thank you.”
You laughed again, hesitantly cupping one side of Frenchie’s face with your hand, who was still kneeling on the floor. “You're welcome,” you smiled, pressing a quick kiss to Frenchie’s forehead. He blinked in surprise, inhaling sharply at the soft gesture of affection. A conflicted expression crossed his face as he looked up at you with wide eyes.
”Why… why are you doing this for me, anyways?” He questioned quietly, pouting slightly. You pursed your lips, not exactly sure why you were going to such lengths for him in the first place; you had barely known him for more than a few months, and yet here you were, risking your life for him.
”…Because you’re my friend, and that’s what friends do,” you answered hesitantly, still not totally confident in your reasoning.
Frenchie seemed to catch onto this, looking amused as he raised a brow at you: “Yeah, because normal people are always letting their vampire friends feed on them.”
You groaned, dragging a hand down your face. “Shut up. I just care about you, okay? Is that illegal now? Am I going to be arrested?” You argued playfully, rolling your eyes.
Frenchie chuckled, still not quite content with your answer. “You care about a vampire? A monster?”
”I do. Shoot me,” you snapped sarcastically, choosing not to comment on his monster classification just yet. That seemed like a completely different problem to unpack, and you were too exhausted—both physically and mentally—to properly address it just yet.
Frenchie barked out another laugh, finally dragging himself off of the floor to sit next to you on the bed. “Okay, whatever you say, you weirdo,” he finally caved, dropping the subject for now. You snorted at his name calling, shaking your head with a smile.
Frenchie’s eyes drifted back to the puncture wounds at the base of your neck, wincing at how deep they were. They weren’t bleeding, but there was blood smeared around the area from how hurriedly he was feeding. Heat rose to his face again at the thought, but he quickly tried to distract himself from it by getting up to get a rag and some bandages.
”Let’s get you patched up, yeah?” He smiled bashfully at you, nervously wiping at his mouth again in case there was any blood left behind. You chuckled at the gesture, bringing your legs up onto the bed to sit criss crossed.
”That’d be appreciated, yes.”

brain rotting so hard in this car rn
ed and izzy drag stede to a metal concert(ghost comes to mind bc i just saw them and the brain rot is strong). ed gets blasted within the opener and he is trying to get stede into the spirit(hes just enjoying his bfs having a good time more than anything, tho he does vibe with the theatrics and some of the songs they play).
here is where it becomes izzy/reader lmao—
izzy notices u vibing off the to the side of him n offers to buy u a drink during intermission, u accept n he starts talking to u, asking u about the band and why you’re here(you’re a die hard fan and you love the main act, but you couldnt find anyone to come with so you went by yourself and have met some really nice ppl so far) and he tells u that he’s been into the band since they began over a decade ago(it ages him but thats not a problem for you). the main act begins and you start dancing along to the music. he notices u and smiles, chugging the rest of his drink and joining u in dancing. u two vibe and dance thru the set, getting closer and closer as the set winds to an end. by the end you are both out of breath and high on adrenaline and DRENCHED in sweat.
then i will do a ch2 where it gets saucy heh maybe even a stede pov chapter too idk
is this anything???

pairing: jack abbot x f!reader  word count: 1.8k notes: I saw this gif of Shawn from Chicago PD i think? and it made me think of Jack giving a lecture and then i kinda spiraled out idk!!!
Tumblr media
You slip away mid-shift, all your patients stable, waiting on results or beds upstairs. You catch Dana’s eye as you peel off your gloves.
“Running upstairs for a sec—page me if anything changes.”
Dana arches a brow, glancing at her watch. “How convenient. A certain silver fox is about halfway through his presentation, if my sources are correct.”
You raise a brow. “I’m just going to support my colleagues. Totally normal.”
“Sure,” she says, deadpan. “Totally normal to reapply lip gloss before a lecture.”
You roll your eyes and make your escape.
You duck into the back of the auditorium, quiet as you can, but your entrance still catches Jack’s eye. He doesn’t miss a beat in his sentence, just tips the corner of his mouth up in a smile before continuing. You melt into a seat, pretending not to notice.
Jack and Samira were asked to give a presentation on their banana pants pigtail catheter procedure from the PittFest MCI, after it had been published by The Lancet.
The talk wraps. The crowd filters out. You linger.
Jack steps down from the podium, spotting you. “Didn’t realize they were letting the riff raff in these days.”
You raise a brow. “We’re a teaching hospital, are we not, Dr. Abbot?”
Before he can reply, Samira swoops in and wraps you in a quick hug. “You made it! You’re coming out tonight, right? Jack’ll give you the details.” She says over her shoulder as she follows someone out the door.
Jack watches her go, then looks back at you. “So… are we?”
You blink. “Are we what?”
“Being honored with your presence tonight.”
You turn toward the exit. “I’m considering it.”
“You do realize you’re walking the opposite way from the ED.”
“What, a girl can’t grab a coffee mid-shift?”
He follows you to the cafeteria, orders a black coffee, pays for both without asking.
“You always this generous?” you tease.
“Only with people who show up to my lectures uninvited.”
You shake your head and sip your drink, and he falls into step beside you. “Can I walk you back to the Pit?”
“You say that like it’s a romantic stroll and not a direct line to getting roped into seeing patients on your day off.”
He laughs. “You still didn’t answer me.”
“I’m walking,” you say innocently.
“Not that question.”
“Oh,” you say, glancing over. “Yeah. If the next few hours don’t implode, I’ll come.”
“Careful—don’t jinx it. And first round’s on me.”
You grin. “Shouldn’t we be buying for you, Dr. Published?”
He shrugs. “Not my first publication. Still not sure why everyone’s acting like I cured cancer.”
Robby suddenly appears beside you. “You done monopolizing my best resident, Dr. Abbot?”
You take that as your cue. “Back to it,” you say quickly, slipping away.
As you walk off, you hear Jack murmur, “Told you we need ten more like her.”
“You don’t need ten,” Robby replies dryly. “One’s already got you tied in knots.”
--
The bar’s dimly lit, a little too loud, crowded with scrubs and badge lanyards. Samira’s already holding court in a booth, waving wildly when she spots you walking in.
Jack’s at the bar, two beers in hand, scanning the crowd. His shoulders drop when he sees you.
“Told you I’d show,” you say, sliding up beside him.
“You cut it close,” he says, handing you one of the beers. “Was about to assume I got stood up.”
You raise a brow. “That why you were brooding into your IPA like a sad Hemingway character?”
He huffs a laugh. “Only a little.”
You clink glasses. “To your big debut.”
He groans. “It wasn’t a debut. I’ve done talks before.”
“Yeah,” you say, sipping. “But this one had fans in the audience.”
He glances down at his beer, then at you. “Just one.”
You feel that zing of heat at his words and have to look away for a second—too much eye contact and you might combust.
Across the room, Dana’s already watching like she’s got popcorn in hand. Robby leans over and says something to her, and she nods in the most obvious way possible.
Jack notices too. “Are they—?”
“Oh yeah. Full-on surveillance mode. Maybe we should go join the group, get them to stop gossiping behind our backs.”
“Knowing them, they’ll start gossiping to our faces,” he jokes as he follows you to the booth.
Conversation flows from how excited they are with being done with revisions and how they’re being invited to a couple conferences to give the same spiel to the craziness of the emergency department and their personal lives.
At one point, your knee bumps his under the table and he doesn’t move away.
After a beat, he murmurs, “You always this bold off shift?”
You tilt your head. “You always this soft-spoken after a beer?”
He chuckles. “Maybe.”
You smile, leaning in just enough to keep the banter between you and him. “I like it. The mysterious gruff thing works on the floor, but this? This is nice.”
He looks at you for a long moment—eyes soft, mouth curved like he’s fighting the instinct to say something he shouldn't.
Then: “You’re trouble” as his hand moves softly to your knee, hidden from the group by the table.
You grin.
Samira calls your name across the table, beckoning you over to take a photo. You stand reluctantly, then pause and turn back to Jack.
“You coming?”
He hesitates, then shakes his head. “I’m good here. I’ll hold your seat.”
You lean in, just close enough to tease, your voice low. “Try not to miss me too much.”
He watches you  go, fingers still resting on the spot where her knee had been. He tells himself to get a grip, but his smile betrays him.
As you walk away, you hear Robby slide into the seat next to Jack and say, loud enough for you to catch it: “So… that seems like a new development?”
Jack mutters something you can’t hear—but you see the smile he doesn’t bother to hide.
The group’s thinned out. Laughter’s softened. Samira’s doing tequila shots with two interns and Dana’s deep in animated gossip with Robby at the end of the booth.
You and Jack are side by side, quiet again.
He’s got his hand back around your knee rubbing small thoughtless circles.
Jack nurses what’s probably his third beer, but it hasn’t touched him much. He’s too grounded. Steady.
“You okay?” you ask, voice low.
He glances at you, brow raised. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You’ve just been…” you search for the word, “thoughtful.”
He smiles faintly. “Guess I’m not used to being the center of attention.”
“You handled it fine. Better than fine.”
He looks at you for a long moment.
“This thing with you… it’s not just in my head, is it?”
You blink. Heart stutters. “No,” you say. “It’s not.”
He nods once, like he needed the confirmation, like he’d been carrying that uncertainty all night.
“I’m not good at this,” he admits.
You reach for his hand under the table, wrap your fingers around his. He doesn’t flinch. Just holds on.
“You’re doing okay so far,” you say quietly.
And for a moment, everything else—the noise, the bar, the chaos of the hospital world—fades.
--
You’re halfway through rounds when you catch sight of him at the nurses’ station—coffee in hand, hair still damp from the shower, reading through a chart.
He looks up. Sees you. Smiles. It’s different than before. Softer. Quieter. Like a secret just the two of you share.
Dana clocks it immediately.
“What the hell happened last night?” she hisses, falling into step beside you as you walk toward the trauma bay.
“Nothing,” you say too fast.
She gives you a look.
“Nothing… overt,” you amend.
Behind you, Jack appears. “Morning,” he says, voice low but warm.
“It’s 3:47 in the afternoon,” you reply, trying very hard to sound normal.
He shrugs “It’s morning for me” while he hands you a cup of coffee and keeps walking. Dana stares after him.
You sip. It’s exactly how you take it.
She turns to you, eyes wide. “Okay, no. That is not normal behavior.”
You hid your smile behind the cup.
--
The ER is quiet. It's after 3 a.m.—that liminal, weightless hour when the world feels like it belongs only to the people still awake. The lights are dimmed. Somewhere down the hall, a monitor beeps—steady, slow.
You’re at the counter, finishing notes on a patient you’re about to discharge, when Jack walks by, flipping through a chart. His scrubs are rumpled. He stifles a yawn.
“You’re still here?” he asks softly.
You glance up. “Working a double. I’m actually considering switching to nights—covering some shifts for Ellis to see how it feels.” You ramble a little, nerves showing.
He leans against the counter beside you, arms folded, close enough that your elbows nearly touch. For a moment, neither of you speaks. Just the quiet hum of fluorescent lights, the hush of a sleeping hospital.
“Hm. What can I do to help tip the scales?” he says at last. “You’re the best doctor I know. We’d be lucky to have you on nights.” He pauses, then adds with a grin, “Oh, fuck—does Robby know you’re leaving him?”
You chuckle. “Of course. He’s not thrilled, but he wants me to do what’s right for me. The cases are different overnight. I’ve always been a night owl. Still figuring it out.”
“I’m always here if you want a sounding board.”
“Thanks,” you say, smiling—then shifting gears. “Have you eaten anything? Dana said she stashed some thank-you cookies earlier.”
“I’ll never say no to a 3 a.m. dessert. Lead the way.”
You end up side by side on the doctors’ lounge couch, coffee in hand, both of you still bone-tired but not ready to leave. There’s a comfort in the quiet.
After a while, he says, “You should go home.”
You glance at him. “I could say the same to you.”
He doesn’t laugh. Doesn’t deflect. Just looks at you.
“Truth is,” he says quietly, “I’ve been finding reasons not to leave.”
You straighten a little, watching him.
“Not the hospital,” he adds. “Just… you. Every time we’re together, I almost go with you. And I keep trying not to. Because we work together. Because you… you get it.”
You don’t breathe for a second.
“Jack…”
He shakes his head, like he’s already regretting saying it—but then: “You make it hard. To keep the distance.”
Your heart kicks. Loud. Certain.
You turn toward him fully. “Then maybe stop trying.”
He doesn’t move—but something shifts in his expression. Softens. Opens.
You lean in.
He exhales. “This isn’t smart.”
“I’m not asking for smart.”
He leans in slowly, like he’s waiting for you to change your mind.
You don’t.
And when his lips finally meet yours, it’s gentle—almost reverent. A sigh of a kiss. Like something long-held and long-denied.
When you part, foreheads pressed together, the silence between you feels full.
There’s nothing to say.
Not yet.

can i request ed x reader where they stargaze? maybe ed talks about constellations or shooting stars?
Summary: Your boyfriend Ed tells you about the stars, set pre-season 1 on Hornigold’s ship before Ed became captain.
Relationship: Ed x reader
Word count: 700+
Warnings: Brief mentions of death
A/N: Sorry this took me so long to post, it’s quite a short one but I hope it’s enjoyable, I’m still trying to get back into the groove of writing.
You grab Ed by the waist from behind, he somehow knew it was you so doesn’t even flinch at the contact, just continues to stare out at the night sky. You’re a little shorter than he is so you have to stand on your top toes to rest your chin on his shoulder.
“Couldn’t sleep, sweetheart?” you ask him
He shakes his head “Stupid brain wouldn’t shut up, kept replaying everything from today” You’d had a particularly bad raid, lost a lot of the crew, it had hit you both hard. You give the man a comforting squeeze and press a kiss onto his shoulder.
You stand in silence for a while, the only sound is the waves lapping against the ship, you always found Ed’s company so comforting and you hoped he felt the same about yours.
“Tell me about the stars” you ask knowing neither of you would want to talk about the day or your feelings, neither of you were so good at that. You were there for each other in a lot of ways, but that was rarely with words.
But you felt that talking about something else could be a good distraction for you both.
“What do you want to know?” he asks
“Tell me everything”
He laughs at that, a beautiful melody to your ears “That would take years babe”
“Well I have no intention on going anywhere” If it was up to you, you’d stay by Ed’s side for the rest of your days.
You both lay on the deck, so close that your sides are touching, you reach for his hand and he immediately laces your fingers together. You love these intimate moments between you, when there’s no one else but the two of you and the stars.
He points to one of the brightest stars in the sky, you rest your head on his shoulder as your eyes follow to where he’s pointing. “That one is the North star or Polaris, it’s the most important star for navigation” he tells you “It’s part of the constellation called Ursa Major, so once you find that it's quite easy to find the North Star” It sounded quite complicated to you, but you were in no way as good as navigation as Ed or your friend Izzy.
He tells you next about Orion’s belt, most of it just goes over your head, but you just enjoy listening to his voice, oh you could listen to this man talk for hours on end. You adored him, how passionate he is, how animated he becomes when he talks.
“What?” Ed asks when he notices you staring
“Nothing, I just love how passionate you are about this stuff” offering him one of those smiles that he loves so much. He adores you, knew the moment he saw you that you’d be something special to him. “Did Iz teach you about the stars or did you already know some of it?”
He’s quiet for a second, you’re worried you’ve overstepped before he speaks. “My mother” ahh, he has briefly mentioned her in the past when you’ve spoken about your childhoods, knew how much he had loved her. “She knew a lot about the stars, all the constellations and their stories”
“She sounds like she was a great woman”
“She was, she would’ve loved you”
“You really think so?”
“I know so” squeezing your hand. It meant a lot, you knew how special his mother had been to him. You squeeze his hand back in comfort and understanding.
“We used to wish on shooting stars, she never told me what she wished for but I think I knew” He didn’t elaborate but you knew what he meant, how tough his childhood had been, how difficult life had been for him and his mother.
“What about you? What did you used to wish for?”
“I wished to escape, just to get away from everything and forge my own path” you hummed in agreement, all too familiar with that desire.
As if by magic, a shooting star crosses the night sky. “Shall we make a wish now?” You ask.
Ed nods and closes his eyes, you follow suit, you won’t know it but both of you made similar wishes that night. Ed wished to become Captain of his own ship, you and Izzy by his side. Your wish, to be a great pirate, to fight alongside the love of your life and your best friend. Sometimes wishes do come true.

Blackbeard X Reader (GN)
This will be a series. A slow burn with Edward Teach before meeting Stede. Edward and Stede are end game, but it's fun to imagine what a relationship with younger Edward would have been like.
Home Sweet Home
Edward stood tall, the rough wood of the ship’s railing pressing against his chest as he leaned over the side, his gaze fixed on the distant silhouette of Bristol, his hometown. The salty sea air stirred, sending a cool breeze through his black beard and eliciting a shiver down his spine. Perhaps it was more than just the chill; his gaze drifted to the spot on the dock that haunted his nightmares– the very place where he had ended his father’s life many years ago. He had returned a few times since setting sail aboard The Ranger under Benjamin Hornigold, a fierce pirate captain who proved to be both lethal and a pain in Edward’s ass. He never looked forward to docking in his hometown, especially after his mother’s passing. For him, there was nothing left here anymore.
He felt a large hand forcefully slap him on the back, and he turned to see Calico Jack at his side, his hair messily strung in a ponytail down his back. A large mustache graced his face, and a cocky grin spread across his features.
“Blackie, I’m ready to blow off some steam tonight. Hornigold has been such a dick,” Calico Jack exclaimed, his voice laced with amusement as always.
“Poor fucking Felix,” Edward whispered to himself, his thoughts dwelling on the torment the young cabin boy had endured that week.
“Oh yeah. The crab thing?” Jack responded casually. “That was pretty fucked up.”
A beat of silence hung between the two of them before Calico Jack continued, swiftly brushing past the memory of the live crab crawling its way through the boy’s stomach, ultimately killing him.
“Luckily for you, I have the best cure for a shitty week: drinking and screwing.”
That’s how Edward found himself in multiple rundown bars throughout Bristol, never once letting it slip to Jack that this was his hometown. Even though he considered Jack one of his closer shipmates, it was a common rule among pirates to keep your past to yourself. You never knew who might turn against you, or who you could truly trust. Ed had only a few drinks, determined to keep his wits sharp in this unsettling city. He let Jack believe he had been participating more heavily, knowing it was easy to deceive him, especially once he himself had started drinking.
Jack chose the last bar of the night, hoping for better luck in his pursuits for sex than the previous establishments. Ed and Jack both entered, their attention immediately drawn to you, for different reasons. You were there, serving drinks with a forced smile, weariness evident in your demeanor as you interacted with the patrons. The moment Edward laid eyes on you, memories from the past flooded back, recalling the nights you had snuck away from home late at night, sharing secrets by the dock, and exploring the city together hand in hand. You were his childhood sweetheart, and even now, Edward couldn’t help but find you to be one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen.
However, he couldn’t ignore Jack’s predatory and intense stare directed at you, realizing that Jack also found you attractive. A surge of jealousy and protectiveness swept over Edward, despite nothing ever truly happening between the two of you. He didn’t like the idea of Calico Jack’s hands on you, especially considering where those hands had been.
Edward kept his eyes fixed on you as you approached their table, noting the fleeting moment of recognition in your widened eyes before you composed yourself. “What are you two drinking tonight?” your voice reached him, and he allowed his gaze to momentarily drift away from your face, catching the expression on Jack’s features. Edward knew Jack well enough to anticipate that he was on the verge of saying something fucking stupid.
“I think I’d like a taste of you, if that’s available,” Jack slurred drunkenly, reaching his hand to grab your waist. Edward watched intently as you gracefully dodged his advances, a flicker of annoyance crossing your features.
Edward observed as you shot him a curious glance, your eyes transitioning into a look of cool calmness. Sliding one hand onto the table, you leaned in, tilting your head and offering Jack a wicked smile. “It’s available. But there’s only one small issue for you.”
“What’s that?” Jack asked, his grin widening as his eyes roved over you from head to toe. Edward felt a knot tighten in his stomach at the interaction, a sense of unease settling over him. He considered how satisfying it would be to punch Jack in this moment for looking at you that way. But he knew he had to keep his cool; otherwise, he’d risk people discovering who he was.
“I have standards,” you whispered in response, your eyes alight with amusement as you watched the smile drop from Jack’s face.
“Just rum,” Edward cut in quickly, attempting to conceal a smile.
“Rum it is,” you replied smoothly, before gracefully making your way back to the bar. Edward observed you with admiration, noticing how you seemed unfazed by Jack’s advances.
Jack changed the subject quickly, as he tended to do whenever he was utterly rejected. Edward had seen this pattern throughout this whole night. As Jack prattled on about a prank he had pulled on one of their shipmates, Edward found himself drifting in thought, his gaze repeatedly drawn to you. Each time your eyes met, you exchanged warm smiles, a silent understanding passing between you. Jack appeared too intoxicated to notice these subtle interactions.
When Jack excused himself, announcing loudly that he needed to whiz, Edward seized the opportunity to sidle up to the bar, eager to talk with you. Ed watched as your delicate hands expertly wiped down glasses, lost in the rhythm of your movements, until you noticed his presence and glanced up from your work. As your eyes met, Edward felt a silly smile spread across his face, a warmth flooding his chest as if he were a teenage boy again.
“Edward Teach,” you sang softly, returning a calm smile to him while continuing your work.
“Born on a beach,” Ed replied, his words sounding somewhat stupid to his own ears, until the sound of your laughter reached him. It was a beautiful sound, one he had forgotten in the midst of everything he had gone through since he left.
“What are you doing here?” you asked curiously.
Ed watched as your eyes briefly shifted down to focus on the glass you were holding. He couldn’t help but wonder if you felt the same nervousness he did at this unexpected encounter. It wasn’t like you to show vulnerability easily, always the stronger one between the two of them. Edward recalled how he had been an emotional child growing up, until his father had beaten that out of him. In contrast, you had always been his rock in Bristol, the one who kept him steady. Edward knew that your childhood had been as difficult as his, but you only ever mentioned it briefly in all the time he knew you. You had once opened up to him about your cruel sister and mother, with your father being the softener presence in your household.
“Just passing through,” Edward replied, his eyes briefly flicking towards the door as a very drunk Jack stumbled back into the bar. “When are you finished with work?”
“An hour or so,” you answered calmly, meeting his gaze before giving a weary glance towards Jack.
“Meet me at our old spot once you’re done?” Edward suggested with a smile, sliding enough coins across the bar to cover their drinks and leaving a few extra for you.
“It’s a date,” you replied teasingly. Edward felt his heart rate increase at your words, but he only responded with a wink. Quickly, he moved towards Jack in the doorway, attempting to usher him out onto the street and back to the ship.
After dumping Jack’s drunken body back in his bunk, Edward made his way back to the shore, heading to a familiar spot under the docks. He settled onto the sand, his heart racing with anticipation as he eagerly turned his head towards any sound he thought might be you. As he waited, Edward tried to convince himself to play it cool, to show you how much he had changed since you last saw him. He wanted to prove he was different now, that he had grown and matured in his time at sea.
Finally, you arrived, holding up a bottle of rum with a mischievous grin before settling onto the sand next to him. Your knee casually rested against his leg, and though you didn’t seem to notice, that physical touch consumed Edward’s attention until you began to speak.
"Edward Teach," you whispered, gazing at him as if he wasn't really in front of you. "You finally grew up enough to grow a beard."
"Fuck off," Edward replied with a chuckle.
Your laughter echoed under the wooden slats of the dock. "You were always complaining about how you wanted a beard. You said that only real men were able to grow a beard, and you were ready to be a man."
Edward forced himself to roll his eyes, feigning annoyance at your teasing, though he secretly relished every moment of being next to you.
"I forgot you were such a dick."
"Well, it's good you came back, so I could remind you," you quipped, nudging your shoulder against him in a familiar gesture from your younger days.
How are you?" Edward whispered softly, his gaze filled with genuine concern, as if being in this spot had reminded him of all the shit you had both faced.
Edward watched as your expression darkened at his question. "My dad is sick, so I'm taking care of him and trying to work enough to keep us going, but I’m doing well enough" you replied somberly. Despite your words, Edward sensed a hint of reassurance in your tone, as if you were trying to convince yourself that everything was indeed fine.
Edward slid his fingers through yours, giving your hand a comforting squeeze, and you responded with a grateful smile at the gesture. Despite the warmth exchanged between you, Edward sensed that you weren't going to expand further on your life.
You took a swig from the bottle of rum before handing it to him. "How about you, big bad pirate? You seem to be keeping great company," you remarked sarcastically, your expression indicating you were referring to the brief interaction you had with Jack. A feeling of embarrassment washed over him.
"Calico Jack is an ass, but he isn't that bad once you get to know him."
"Calico Jack?" you gawked at the name, finding it amusing.
Edward realized it was a silly name. All pirates tend to pick ridiculous names for their alter ego. Edward included.
"Pirates tend to pick new names. It’s his alter egos, I guess," Edward explained, watching your eyes study his face intently.
A mischievous grin spread across your face. "What's your pirate name, Edward?"
"I would tell you if you weren't such a dick," Edward whispered back, leaning his face closely to yours. He knew you would laugh at him, especially after already teasing him about his beard.
Your fingers grasped his tighter, and you moved to perch on your knees, staring at him intently. "You have to tell me," you insisted, your smirk adding to the mischievous glint in your eyes. Edward's gaze shifted from your smirk to your lips, and he couldn't help but wonder how they would taste, whether they would feel as soft as he imagined against his own. Despite growing up together, he had never kissed you, but the thought had lingered in his mind as a distant fantasy.
As if realizing he had not responded and where he had been staring, Edward quickly succumbed to your question, hoping you hadn't read his thoughts. "Blackbeard," he whispered.
Your laughter rang out, just as he had anticipated, but it was music to his ears.
"I should have guessed," you replied with a giggle, running a finger gently across his chin. Edward felt a shift in the air, similar to what he felt before a storm, as he realized how close the two of you were now. "Blackbeard," you repeated softly, seeming to savor the name. He enjoyed hearing his new name on your tongue. "You really are a man now," you added, your eyes tracing his face.
Edward had to resist the urge to kiss you; every part of his body was screaming for you, yearning to show you how much of a man he had become. But he knew you deserved better than him. You always had. Kissing you right now would only complicate things, and you didn't deserve that with everything else you had going on. Instead, he bumped his shoulder against yours, echoing your earlier gesture.
You both stayed up talking the rest of the night, watching as the sun rose above the shoreline, until its golden rays crested the blue waters rolling before you both. Reluctantly, Edward made his way back to the ship, his hand wrapped in yours again, wishing he could hold onto it forever. He stopped at a place far enough away where he knew no one on The Ranger could see him.
"Are you ever coming back here?" you asked quietly. Edward saw the pain in your eyes and felt thankful that he hadn't kissed you; it might have been impossible to leave if he had.
"I don't know," Edward replied honestly.
He watched as your expression changed into an easy smile, knowing you had pushed down that other emotion that threatened to break through. He had seen you do that plenty of times growing up. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and his arms found your waist, squeezing you closely to him. He savored how your body felt against his, not knowing if this would be the last time he held you. You loosened your grip on him first, causing him to let you go, and you began making your way back to town. He watched as you walked away, feeling the tug in his heart to follow you, then you turned back towards him.
"I like the beard, Ed," you said, your eyes narrowing as if you were making a decision on whether to say something further. Then you spoke again. "Next time you come back, find me again." Before he could respond, you turned to walk again.
If he sailed here again, there was no doubt in his mind that he would go to any length to find you. He knew that fact even before you asked. He had left this life behind, but you were the one piece of the past he would relish in when he was back. As the ship set sail, instead of leaving his former home with relief like he expected, longing sat in his heart. He hoped Hornigold would choose to return to Bristol soon.

I CAN SEE YOU; dr jack abbot x chief res!reader
words: 3,200+
content warnings: jealous abbot, fluffy, YEARNING, lil bit smutty
notes: based off of this banger
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
He was everywhere. Or at least it felt like it.
His shoulder brushing against hers as they lifted a patient from gurney to bed. His rough but warm fingertips skimming her own soft, manicured ones as they swapped shift notes. Every hallway she was entering, he seemed to be exiting - their bodies just barely grazing each other as they passed by. In the ambulance bay, outside the family room, the break room, at the nurses station.
He was everywhere in that damn ED. And now he was here too - at her usual hot yoga class.
Jack already felt like a fool for being there. His therapist had been telling him for years to try yoga and for years he had been rolling his eyes at the suggestion.
Typically, he was pretty good about listening to his therapist but what could yoga teach him about focus and presence that years in combat and emergency medicine hadn't already?
That was until she showed up.
Jack can still remember the exact thought he had the first time he saw her, 'Thank god she is not on the night shift.'
Her confidence, her beauty, the way her hips swayed when she walked, her brain, her laugh reverberating through the ED, how calm she was under pressure, her smart ass comments that made him crack a smile even on the worst of shifts - would all cause him a lot more trouble than they already did if she was with him on the night shift.
The first year of her residency was fine. He barely saw her and when he did, he told himself that he was just proud of a competent student who had a bright future ahead.
The second year of her residency, he had to admit to himself that he had a crush. A crush that he could never ever act upon - it was inappropriate on so many different levels - but a crush none the less. He was her boss, her teacher, at least 12 years her senior and he respected her far too much to let his own selfish wants get in the way of the career she had worked so hard for.
This third year was absolutely fucking killing him. He thought he had finally gotten a handle on his crush. That admiring her from afar was the closest he’d ever get to having her. And he was okay with that. Until Shen and his wife had a baby and Shen asked her to swap shifts with him.
In true Shen fashion, he didn't even mention it to Jack. Jack just choked on his coffee when she walked through the door and told him the news. When he asked why she'd agreed, she just shrugged and said, "If I'm not going to have a life outside of this place, I guess Shen can."
It has only been a month of her on the night shift and Jack already feels insane. Which is how he found himself at the closest yoga studio to the hospital. He was desperate to regain his previous level of focus so when his therapist suggested yoga again, he listened for once in his life.
Once he saw her, Jack probably had about a 5 second window to escape the studio without being caught. But he missed it because he was too busy drooling over how her skin tight powder blue leggings complimented the swell of her ass.
"Dr Abbot?"
Too late now. She unrolled her mat next to his, because of course the only spot left in the class was next to him, and then she just looked at him with a shadow of a smirk on her face.
"What is so funny?"
"Nothing. I just never would have pegged you as a hot yoga guy."
"I'm not."
She just raised her eyebrows in question.
"My therapist suggested it."
"Therapy and yoga? Next you're going to tell me you have a Nobel Peace Prize or something."
Jack's lips couldn't help but mold into the smallest smirk. He was so happy this room was dark. "No...just a purple heart. Only had to give them my leg to get it.”
The laugh she let out earned them a couple glares but Jack could care less about disturbing the quiet of the yoga studio when she was looking at him like that.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
She felt almost nervous as she trekked up to the roof. Their shift had sucked - plain and simple. It felt as if everyone coded in some capacity. One of the many they could not save was a veteran and Dr Abbot had just gotten through telling the family.
Probably why he was getting chicken wings and beer DoorDashed to the roof of the hospital.
She opened the door with her hip, both hands being occupied by Dr Abbot's delivery.
"What are you doing here?"
"You know they only pay residents so much - I had to pick up a side gig." Dr Abbot's was too distracted from the long day to realize she was making a joke.
His face falls into what reads as surprise and then sympathy. Like he's been an attending for so long that he forgot the abysmal wages residents make.
"I'm kidding! Your dasher took his job title a little too seriously and dropped this off with me in the ambulance bay and told me to get it to the 'guy who is always on the roof.'"
"You didn't have to come all the way up here."
"I wanted to check on you."
"I would have come down to get it. I have legs."
"You have leg. Singular. Not plural."
Jack let out a genuine laugh that he didn't even know he was capable of after the day they had had.
"Have you ever considered stand up?"
"Have you ever considered standing on the safe side of the safety railing? Just a thought."
"I like the view from here." He was staring right at her.
Ironically enough Jack had started going to yoga to distract himself from her and it has done the complete opposite. If anything, the friendship they have struck up has made him more bold. They have a routine - they work, they go to yoga, they get a tea and then Jack drives her home. And they yap the entire time.
Oh yeah, she's started calling him Jack now. So much so, he doesn't blush anymore when she does it. But she is blushing now.
Her cheeks are burning red. She is hoping to blame it on wind burn or something. Is Jack finally flirting with her? Ever since they ran into each other at yoga, class by class, she has gotten him to relax around her. She gets more Jack and less Dr Abbot. But still, it feels like he's restraining some piece of himself from her.
She noticed last week, when she mentioned her rapidly approaching residency graduation, he seemed different. At first he seemed surprised, almost like he forgot there even was a residency graduation. Then relieved like the concept of her no longer being a resident was exactly what he needed to make any kind of move. Or so she hoped.
She turns, his food and beer in hand, sits against the wall of the hospital and cracks open a beer. What is she doing? She doesn't even like beer. But she likes Jack. And is trying really hard to not imagine the muscles she sees under his shirt at yoga being used to press her against the wall she's sitting against.
"Hey - that's mine."
"Get over here then, Abbot."
He takes off of his jacket on his walk over and she allows herself only a second of imaging it on her bedroom floor. The feeling of Jack placing it around her shoulders and plopping himself next to her brings her out of her head.
"You don't have to-" She starts.
"You’re cold." He gently tugs her hair out from under his jacket and she wants to absolutely melt at the brief sensation of his touch on the back of her neck. She has to stop herself from whimpering. She tells herself to get a grip.
She just holds up her beer, "Consider this my delivery fee."
Jack clinks his beer against hers, "Cheers...to being a yoga guy."
Her bright eyes blow to the size of saucers, her jaw drops, and she's laughing as she knocks her shoulder against his, "I knew it!"
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
Jack is in trouble. He now has an unlimited monthly yoga membership to the studio closest to the hospital even though he only ever goes with her after their shared shifts. He thinks he may be falling in love. Fast. And even worse, he is starting to allow himself to think that maybe she is too.
He thinks maybe it was always there for both of them but something about this impending residency graduation has given them both the freedom they needed to explore it. Not that anything has actually even happened.
She felt stupid. She was close to getting herself a neurology consult for the way she was thinking. Nothing had ever actually even happened between her and Jack. But having to go from experiencing his quiet confidence and intellect and calm teaching at work to his sweaty muscles and heavy breathing at yoga had her brain running absolutely wild.
He probably sees her as nothing but his favorite resident and she is practically falling in love with him. And that isn't a hyperbole.
The night was slow in the ED. Noone dared to say that out loud though. Especially since it was still earlier - barely 9 PM. Some of the day shift was even still there - opting to work their mandated monthly double shift on a slow night.
They were both at the nurse's station - always in each other's orbit. Jack was charting and she was recommending a jeweler to Bridget. She had found him when looking for someone to make a custom dog tag necklace that was meant to be a replica of the kind her dad wore when he was in the Army. When he died, they were never able to recover his actual tags.
Jack's phone went off and he stepped away for a moment before returning. He pointed at her before tucking his phone back in his pocket, "Gloria says we have a VIP patient en route from PPG Paints Arena. Connor Matthews from the Penguins. And he has specifically requested you."
If she didn't know any better, she could've sworn Jack's jaw twitched.
The murmurs began real quick. Why was the star of the Pittsburgh Penguins requesting her? She hated that Connor was coming in but she sort of loved that Abbot could potentially be jealous.
Princess cut straight to the point, "How do you know him?"
"We grew up together. He played hockey with my brothers."
Connor was being ushered in, still in his jersey and ice pack resting on his forehead, as she walked over to him.
Jack watched out of the corner of his eye, hoping he was looking like an attentive attending rather than just plain jealous. He pretended to be charting but he was straining to hear every part of the conversation.
"I texted you."
"I know."
"I called you."
She grits her teeth as she repeats herself, "I know. I also know that you could have gotten stitches from the team doctor so why the dramatic visit?"
"I think you know why."
"Connor, I don't know how many times I have to tell you this-"
"I know! I just can't help myself."
"Well start." She deadpans, flashing her light pen way too close to his eyes. Maybe not the most professional thing in the world but he deserved it for wasting her time like this.
"Ow! What was that for?"
"Checking for a concussion."
"Yeah, I'm sure."
"Mateo, can you please take him over to a room and stitch him up?"
"I requested you."
"And I request that you stop wasting my time at my job that you disrespected then and you are disrespecting right now."
"I didn't mean to."
She ignores him. She gets one more quip in before Mateo is wheeling Connor away. "Oh, Connor, I almost forgot - are there any 21 year olds we need to call to let them know you're okay?"
She hears a muffled laugh behind her. She turns to see Jack, elbows on the counter of the nurses station, pretending to be engrossed in his charting. She goes to plop down in the seat in front of him.
"Eavesdropping is impolite, you know?"
"I don't know what you are talking about"
"My standup career, remember?"
Jack grins at her, his eyes soft and then he does the unimaginable. He winks at her. Like he is acknowledging he got caught listening in on her conversation with Connor. She almost falls out of her chair. He seems perfectly fine, walking around the nurses station to grab one of the tablets.
"Didn't know your boyfriend was a hockey super star." He speaks up from behind her.
"Ex boyfriend."
She feels his breath on the back of her neck before she hears him. His tone is low and almost sensual, "Good." is all he says before he's walking away.
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
She doesn't know who is squeezing her harder - Dana or Collins. The moment she stepped into the bar they were running over, squeezing the living shit out of her and whispering 'Congratulations' into her ear.
"Congratulations on what?" She laughed.
"Graduating residency!"
It was tradition, every summer when the residents graduated, the attendings took the team out to celebrate on their tab. Legend has it, there used to be a graduation ceremony with speeches and presents and an open bar. But due to budget cuts, Abbot and Robby had to take matters into their own hands - and credit cards.
"Oh and Robby has a surprise for you." Collins added.
"Oh no. If it's anything like the surprise he gave you last year then I decline! She is so damn cute though." Robby and Collins won't actually admit that their baby girl was conceived on this same night last year but the rest of the pitt crew have decided to make it canon.
"Before I hand you this drink, I need you to sign this. If you want, obviously" Robby interrupts - the world's largest grin on his face.
"Sign wha-" The realization dawns on her mid sentence. It's her offer letter to become an attending at the pitt.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously. Absolutely sparkling, shining letter of recommendation from Dr Jack Abbot, by the way. He never writes those. Almost gave Gloria a heart attack with that one.” Robby winks at her as he hands her a pen.
She signs. They cheer. They hug. They cry a little bit. Happy tears - at the idea they now get to spend more time together rather than one of them getting shipped off to a different city for a new job.
She can’t remember the last time she was this happy. And a lot of it has to do with someone who isn’t even here yet. She spots him walking in and her feet are carrying her over to him before her brain can tell her to stop.
A smile appears on Jack’s face when he sees her. She’s not in scrubs or workout clothes - although she looks just as beautiful in those.
She’s in a white sundress and sandals. Her hair wavy and her cheeks tinged pink and laden with freckles. He noticed hers come out more in the summer time, just like his.
They’ve never really hugged before but she’s throwing her arms around his neck to hug him hello and his arms wrap around her waist like it’s the most natural thing in the world. He’s so close he can smell her lip gloss and he wants to kiss it off of her more than anything.
He settles for, “I heard I have a new colleague.”
“Aren’t you lucky?”
“Very.”
Then she’s pulled over to chat with her fellow residents. Abbot over by Robby and some of the other attendings.
Drink after drink, people start to fall off. She joins Collins and Dana and eventually the boys make their way over as well. Everyone is making bets on who is going to go home with who.
Santos goes home with Garcia. Easy money. Same for Victoria and Mateo. Langdon goes home alone and sober - thank goodness. Dana’s husband picks her up and Collins and Robby have to go relieve their baby sitter.
Robby sets his half finished beer in front of her, “Here, finish my beer. Don’t wanna waste it.”
She grimaces and Collins cackles, “Robby, you know she hates beer!”
Then they were gone. Jack wore the world’s cockiest smirk on his face and they were alone.
“So did you hate beer that day on the roof too?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
The bar is shutting down so Jack pays the tab and they make their way out into the sticky, summer air.
“Come on - I’ll drive you home.”
They’re walking so close their hands brush about five times on the short walk to the car.
She turns to Jack before he can open her passenger side door but he was one step ahead of her. He’s practically an inch away from her as he speaks.
“You know there used to be an actual graduation ceremony for the residents. With presents. So I got you something.”
“You didn’t have to-“
Jack just places the small box in her hands. He takes her purse so she has free hands to tug the ribbon and open the present.
She gasps - her dad’s dog tags. Presumably, the real ones. She can’t even form words, “How did you even-“
“Called in a couple favors.”
A couple of tears fall because this is the absolute nicest, most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for her. Jack is hesitant in his reach but the loving look in her eyes spurs him on. His hand cradles her cheek, wipes away her tears.
“Jack-“
“Yeah.” His voice is clipped, out of breath, expectant - hanging off her every word.
She nods her head, almost to encourage herself, before looking back up to him, “I’m going to have to get a new job if I am totally reading this wrong but I think I’m in love with you.”
“Thank fucking goodness.” And then he’s grabbing the box out of her hands, placing it and her purse on the hood of the car before his hands are on her. Kissing her with every ounce of pent up longing from the past three years.
She’s pressed against the passenger seat of his car, her hands in his hair and his cupping her face.
Eventually, his forehead falls to hers as he whispers against her lips, his hands resting on her waist. “I love you.”
“I’ve pictured this so many times.”
“You won’t believe the things that I’ve seen in my head. Wait until you see half the things that haven’t happened yet.”
“Well then why don’t you show me, Jack.”
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
He’d already pulled an orgasm from her using his thigh - had her pressed against his front door.
“God, you’re fucking perfect. I can’t believe I get to se you like this.” All she can do is let out a low moan in response.
Her body felt like it was on fire. Since they’d moved into the bed he’d made her finish on his fingers and now was eating her like she was his last meal.
She tugged at his curls, finally, after imaging it so many times. He groaned into her, inserting another finger and sending her over the edge.
“Oh - Jack! Oh my god-“
“There she is - my good girl.”
He’s insatiable and who is she kidding - so is she. He’s kissing up her body, pinning her hands above her head.
“Jack, I need to feel you. Please.”
His hand lightly wrapped around her neck. He whispered in her ear, “God, I love you.” And then he’s kissing her forehead and sliding into her all at once.
“Holy shit - you’re so fucking tight. So fucking perfect.”
“I love you.”
“Say it again.”
“I love you.”
Neither of them last much longer. She’s on orgasm #4 and he’s on #2 (she’s been waiting for years - she couldn’t not suck him off the first chance she had).
“I’ve never orgasmed that many times before.”
“Pretty good for an old man, huh?”
“All that yoga must be paying off.”
They laugh - all that yoga is paying off far more than either of them could have ever imagined.
