“It doesn’t matter for Melissa if there’s attraction, she’s married to a nice ma… she’s married.” Barb tells them. “She has never cheated on him and she doesn’t intend to. And has never thought about leaving him either…even though she should.” Barb adds and she gets a weird look from Janine and Jacob.

Just then you and Melissa both enter the break room and everyone looks at you both.

“What are youse looking at?” Melissa asks them.

“This is the third day where you get here at the same time.” Jacob says as you go to sit down with him and Janine.

“We just end up getting here at the same time. Is that a crime?” You ask them.

“Ok what about yesterday? I saw Melissa and you talking and smiling.” Janine asks you.

“Janine, what exactly are you asking?” You ask her and cross your arms.

“Is there an attraction between you two?” She bluntly asks. “You have mentioned you’re into hot older gingers and Melissa fits that.” She adds.

“Ok, first of all, Melissa and I were talking about our job yesterday as she was nice enough to give me pointers. Second of all, yes Melissa is a hot older ginger but she’s married and we’re not even acquaintances as Melissa very clearly told me that she barely talks to newbies.” You tell everyone and they shut up after that.

“So what pointers did Melissa give you yesterday?” Janine asks after a couple minutes.

“She told me to not do my lesson plan so far in advance and expect to fall behind, don’t be too stressed that it’s my first year of teaching on my own and she generously took a look at my first week lesson plan and said it was good and the kids will enjoy it.” You tell them and you weren’t lying as Melissa did actually tell you all those things.

“Melissa, you gave her that advice?” Barb asks her and Melissa nods.

“I don’t like communicating with newbies but the kid looked like she was gonna have a panic attack, I wasn’t gonna sit by and do nothing.” Melissa tells her.

“Oh Janine and Jacob, would you help me hang a few things that require 2 people?” You ask them and they immediately nod.

“As long as it’s not on a ladder.” Janine says and you nod.

“You’re not climbing a ladder, it’s not high.” You tell her.

Melissa watches from her desk as you and Jacob hang some stuff up and Janine directs you both to make sure it’s straight. Melissa’s mind starts to wander. She doesn’t know why but you seem to have caught her interest a bit. Her telling you her husband doesn’t forgive her just honestly slipped out and she doesn’t why she said it. Of course her husband forgives her every time. And then she tries to remember when was the last time he said he’s sorry and she can’t remember.

“I’m telling you it’s straight.” She hears Janine says.

“It doesn’t look straight to me.” She hears you counter. She then gets up and leans against her doorframe with her arms crossed. She sees you and Janine a few feet away from her and you’re looking at your board.

“You two are loud.” She says and catches both of your attention.

“How about we ask Melissa?” You tell Janine.

“No, she’ll just side with you as you’re friends.” Janine counters.

“Ya, we’re not friends.” Melissa says and goes to stand beside Janine and looks at the board. “And it’s not straight.” She says and sees you sticking your tongue out at Janine. “It’s a little high on the left.” She adds and then goes back to her door. “Try to keep it down this time.” She says and then walks inside her classroom.

At lunchtime she gets there before anyone else does and takes a few seconds to decompress as she gets her salad out. Everyone else comes in about a minute later and Barb gets her lunch and sits down and immediately notices Melissa is looking stressed.

“Are you alright?” Barb asks her.

“Ya, just a headache.” Melissa says softly.

Barb knows that she’s lying. But she also knows Melissa enough to know that she’s not ready to say anything and she’ll tell her when she is ready.

“Want some ibuprofen?” You ask since you heard as you were at the coffee maker. “I always carry some as I can get some painful cramps when menstruating. And that’s probably too much information.” You immediately say and it gets Melissa to crack a smile.

“It’s not that type of headache, but thanks hon.” Melissa tells you and you nod.

“Want some coffee? New batch is ready.” You offer and she nods and gives you her coffee mug.

“Thanks kid.” She says as you hand her the mug back with coffee.

“Y/n, do you have any plans this weekend?” Janine asks you as you join her and Jacob at the table.

“Probably just watch the game, I hope the Eagles hand the cowboys their asses.” You say and you don’t notice Melissa smiling at that comment.

“What about you?” You ask her and she goes into some detailed plan about what her and Tariq are doing this weekend.

When lunch ends, you all get up to go but Melissa stops you and Janine.

“Just wanted to let you both know that around February is when I do this Peter Rabbit art project with the kids and each of your second graders can join as well.” She says to you both.

“Oh that sounds exciting. What do they usually make?” You ask her.

“A rabbit face from paper plates.” She says.

“Oh that sounds fun, definitely count my class in as it sounds exciting. Y/n is your class going to join?” Janine asks.

“Definitely count my class in as well, they’ll enjoy that.” You tell Melissa and she nods before she goes back to her classroom.

At the end of the day, you pack up your things and you head out the door and you run into Jacob and Janine and you have a conversation with them for a few minutes before they both head to their cars. You start to head to the bus stop when Melissa stops you.

“My car is the other way.” She tells you and you turn around to face her.

“I didn't know how long your offer was by driving me home.” You tell her.

“Until you can get gas in your car.” She says and you smile before following her to her car. You both don’t notice everyone watching you both as you get in Melissa’s car.

“Thanks again.” You tell her as you do up your seatbelt and she pulls out. “So how long have you done the Peter Rabbit project for?” You ask her.

“Since I started working here, almost 15 years ago.” She tells you. “By the way, do you really think I’m hot?” She asks you and you furrow your eyebrows. “You told Janine that in the break room this morning.” She clarifies.

“Well of course you are. You honestly don’t need all that makeup.” You tell her and you see her smiling and a hint of a blush on the cheek that you see.

Melissa gets home a few minutes after dropping you off and she immediately goes to the kitchen for a glass of wine. She takes a deep breath after she takes a few sips and puts her head in her hands. She keeps getting compliments and praises from you and she doesn’t know how to react. She then realises that it’s been awhile since she received any from Joe and a tear slips down her cheek but she quickly wipes it off.

“Don’t cry, I’m not sensitive.” She tells herself and takes a big sip of her wine.

She has 2 glasses of wine and ends up falling asleep on the couch. When Joe gets home, he leaves her be and goes to reheat leftovers and watches tv in the bedroom. Melissa gets home a couple hours later and immediately goes to eat. After she eats she hears the tv on upstairs and goes to see Joe.

“Finally awake?” Joe asks her and she nods her head.

“You could have woken me up.” She tells him.

“I wanted to watch tv by myself anyway without being asked for cuddles or any kisses.” He tells her.

“I’m sorry, I know sometimes I might be too needy and I’m trying not to be.” She tells him and she goes downstairs to watch tv by herself.

She falls asleep on the couch again and wakes up around 4am. She gets her phone out and sees that it’s dead so she charges it as she makes breakfast. She eats and then she puts some in a container for Joe when he gets up. She gets ready for work and then she goes outside a few minutes early and sees you pull up on your bike.

“I woke up late but I don’t remember biking being this tiring.” You tell her and she shakes her head at you.

“You can leave it in the backyard for now.” She tells you and you nod. You come back out a couple minutes later and you get in the car.

The car ride this time was pretty quiet as you tried to make conversation but wasn’t getting replies. She pulls up 10 minutes later and you both get out and walk inside. This time you actually don’t head to the break room, you turn into your hallway and head to your classroom instead. It takes Melissa about 30 seconds to notice as she was in her own world and wanted to question you but you were too far ahead.

“Did you and Y/n not arrive at the same time today?” Barb asks her.

“No, I saw her come in, she went to her classroom for whatever reason.” Melissa explains.

“Interesting thing yesterday, I saw her get in your car when we were all leaving for the day.” Barb says and everyone looks at Melissa.

“Oh, well that’s none of youse businesses.” Melissa says. Right after she says that, you walk in and you head straight for the coffee machine.

“Y/n, we all saw you go in Melissa’s car yesterday.” Janine immediately tells you and you shrug.

“Cool.” Is all you say and pour yourself a cup and head back to your classroom. Janine and Jacob sensed something must be wrong and follow you out.

“So Melissa, now that we’re alone, want to tell me what’s happening?” Barb asks Melissa.

“On Tuesday I saw Y/n on the side of the road in my neighbourhood and she said she ran out of gas. I’ve just been giving her rides as she lives like a minute away from me, that’s all.” Melissa explains.

“Well that’s nice of you.” Barb says and really looks at Melissa. “Is something wrong?”

“What do you think of Joe?” Melissa asks her and Barb tilts her head.

“What do you mean?”

“Well Y/n has actually given me compliments in the week she’s been here, more compliments than Joe has given me in the past year. So what does that say?” Melissa asks her.

“That Joe doesn’t give compliments.” Barb simply says. “Melissa, I’ve given my opinion on Joe many times over a decade ago and you always gave reasons why I was wrong. I stopped trying as you kept defending your marriage with him.”

“Well you never had a lot of nice opinions about him but you never knew him like I do.” Melissa states.

“You’re right, I don’t. And I hope he’s changed since then.” Barb says and goes back to her cup of coffee.

*Your classroom*

“So you went on a date 2 months ago with a girl, but stayed friends and she invited you to watch the game at a bar this weekend?” Janine says and you nod.

“I thought like everyone else that she’d just forget me and we’d never talk again.” You tell them.

“So you have a new friend, what’s the problem?” Jacob asks you.

“She’s a little crazy.” You tell them. “I’m just hoping that after the game, she never wants to speak to me again.” You add.

Melissa gets to her classroom and sees your door is closed but can see Jacob and Janine standing near your desk from the little window on the door.

The morning goes by quickly for Melissa, and before she knows it, it’s lunchtime and she heads to the break room and gets her lunch.

“So I was notified this morning by a parent of one of my students that I’m getting.” You say to Janine and Jacob.

“And what did they want?” Janine asks.

“They wanted to let me know that they tested their daughter over the summer and apparently this kid is dyslexic.” You tell them and that catches Melissa’s attention and she turns around to look at you.

“Do you know how to teach a dyslexic child?” Melissa asks you and you shake your head.

“No, but I could just google some ways to help her.” You tell her and she nods and goes on her phone.

You go to your classroom and an hour later Melissa walks in and closes your door behind her and walks up to your desk where you’re arranging some papers.

“Melissa, what can I-”

“Can you switch the dyslexic kid over to my class?” She asks you and you tilt your head.

“Why?” You ask her.

“I can help her better.” She states and you furrow your eyebrows.

“Look I know I’m new but I’m pretty sure I’m not an idiot.” You say and she sighs.

“It’s not about you being new, it’s the fact that you can’t relate to her.” She says and the gears in your head are turning until it dawns on you.

“You’re dyslexic?” You ask her and she nods.

“I haven’t had a student who’s dyslexic and I feel like I can help her the same way that I was.” She says and you smile.

“Of course, want to go to the principal to make the transfer right now?” You ask her and she looks taken back.

“Wait, you’re not going to say no?” She asks and you shrug.

“Since you’re dyslexic then you might be the best teacher to help her.” You tell her and you go to your door. “Come on, let’s go see Principal Coleman.” You say and she follows you to Ava’s office.

“What do you two want?” Ava asks you.

“We want to transfer a student from my class to Melissa’s class.” You tell her and she rolls her eyes before she gets to one of the women in the office and you follow her.

“Can you do a classroom transfer?” She asks her and the woman nods. “She’ll help you with that.” Ava tells you both and you nod.

“Thank you.” You say and you and Melissa get the transfer done. “I’ll also send you the email that the parents sent me. They said a couple ways that they’ve noticed have helped her.” You tell Melissa on the way back and she nods.

“Ok, thank you.” She tells you and you nod.

“I’ll also notify the parents and tell them about the transfer.” You tell her and she nods. “Do you mind if I tell them that you’re dyslexic as well?” You ask her.

“No, that’s alright. It’ll probably make them happier that their daughter’s teacher has the same thing.” She says.

“Alright, I’ll forward you the email right away.” You tell her and go inside your classroom.

Melissa receives the email a few minutes later and sees the ways to best help her and writes it down.

She goes through the rest of what she needs to get done and finishes about an hour before the day ends. She stays on her phone for the rest of the day and waits a few minutes for you in the parking lot.

“You waited for me?” You ask her as she’s leaning against her car.

“Well I offered you rides, plus your bike is at my place.” She says. “I’m gonna drive to my place and you can bike home.” She tells you and you nod.

“Sounds good.” You say.

Melissa drives you both to her place and you go to get your bike right away.

“Hey Melissa.” You say as you come out with your bike and she looks at you. “I can probably actually just bike to and from school.”

“You ran out of breath biking for like 5 minutes. How are you going to survive for another 30 minutes?” She asks you and you shrug. “Mm, I’ll see you Monday at 7.” She tells you and then goes inside. You put your helmet on, get on your bike and start biking back home. Melissa watches from the window as you leave and she sighs. “What the fuck am I doing?” She says out loud and goes to get some wine and chocolate.

FiveThirtyEight is gone. Its legacy will endure.

Nate Silver’s website suffered because of Trump and changes in political news coverage.

FiveThirtyEight became famous for its “forecasts” from founder Nate Silver. But the website (where I worked from 2017 to 2021) was trying to do much more than predict presidential election results. FiveThirtyEight was an attempt to improve and reimagine journalism. I think it succeeded — even though the website is now defunct. ABC News, which owned FiveThirtyEight, this week laid off the site’s 15 remaining staffers. The network had already made drastic cutbacks two years ago, with Silver himself departing back then. We are in the midst of staff reductions throughout the journalism industry. That said, ABC News is not a newspaper in a declining city in the Midwest. If the network wanted to keep the site going, it could have. This decision probably wasn’t just about money. [...] Political journalism has changed in ways that have made FiveThirtyEight less essential. Silver started the website during the 2008 presidential campaign. (There are 538 votes in the electoral college.) He correctly saw a flaw in American political coverage. Journalism professors and many within the news industry had for years argued that political news was too focused on the “horse race” (who was going to win the next election) instead of policy issues. What Silver argued was that horse-race coverage, while extensive, was often quite bad. It was overly fixated on a single poll or arguing that a candidate appeared to be surging after delivering a strong speech, without any other evidence. Averaging polls, scrutinizing demographics and voting histories of states — that all seems obvious now. It wasn’t 17 years ago. [emphasis added]

I will miss FiveThirtyEight. It was always a reliable source of aggregate polling data. It also provided a lot of background information about the potential bias and reliability of individual polls.

In 2010, the New York Times hired Silver and starting hosting FiveThirtyEight on its website. A few years later, ESPN hired him to create a FiveThirtyEight that would cover not only politics but also sports, science and other topics with statisticians and more traditional journalists working in a combined newsroom. The site grew in size and influence. And other news organizations started borrowing its methods, averaging polls and producing statistical models to analyze elections. [...] The site often had political scientists and scholars write pieces. Fact-checking was extensive, adding to the site’s reliability and reputation. But I knew FiveThirtyEight was in trouble when I saw not only stories similar to ours published in the Times and The Washington Post but also those larger organizations poaching our staffers. Another factor that made the website less relevant was Trump. He made politics more about tweets, firings and other drama that the data can’t really capture. [...] But for me, FiveThirtyEight staffers and its devoted fans, the site was about much more than election predictions and even Silver. It was an alternative, higher form of journalism. It was also a lovable community of nerds, wonks and junkies. Our readers were Democratic-leaning, but they weren’t people watching MSNBC just to hear how terrible Republicans are. They wanted us to tell them if a Democratic politician was going to lose. They loved that every article seemed to involve the writer examining election results down to the county level and producing three charts to support their thesis. Silver now has one of the most popular political Substack newsletters; former managing editor Micah Cohen is now politics editor for Apple News; reporter Anna Maria Barry-Jester has moved on to cover public health for ProPublica. But from my vantage point, FiveThirtyEight is everywhere in more subtle ways. The amount of charts and data in stories about politics in particular is much larger than it was two decades ago. The chief political analyst at the New York Times is a data whiz named Nate (Cohn) who joined the paper essentially as Silver’s replacement. If you tell someone about a poll, they will often ask whether other surveys show the same result. There is still too much horse-race coverage. I hate when I see polls of the 2028 Democratic primary. Can we wait a minute? But FiveThirtyEight made that coverage smarter and more rigorous — creating a legacy that will endure.

LOVERGIRL is the debut album by cheri. Released October 3, 2022, the album consists of 14 tracks. The album received favorable reviews from critics, most praised the album for its versatile pop sound and overall lyrical themes.

LOVERGIRL marks cheri’s first release after departing from Big Hit and her indefinite hiatus as a BTS member. Many netizens speculated that cheri would not return to music when she was confirmed to appear in the Don’t Worry Darling. cheri confirmed she was working on her first album in late 2021 with former Big Hit producer and CHROMATIC CEO Kayla Hwang. Hwang and cheri served as co-creative directors and producers on the album.

She began teasing the album by posting a video of her walking on a beach at sunset on August 20th. cheri announced STAY TONIGHT two days later and officially released August 25. Two more singles were released from the album following the release — 보라빛 밤 (PURPLE NIGHT) and CONFETTI. The album includes collaborations with CL, BIBI, and Saweetie on a remixed version of CONFETTI.

LOVERGIRL explores themes of love, freedom, and self-discovery, inspired by cheri’s journey of finding her identity as a solo artist. She tapped into disco and pop subgenres.

In an interview, she explained, “I’m really trying to embrace the emotions I’ve felt in various relationships — whether they were romantic, platonic, or… whatever. I was really inspired by 80s pop. I wanted an upbeat, poppy sound, and that kind of contrasts with some of the lyrics and overall theme.”

Promotions kicked off with a performance and her U.S. television debut of STAY TONIGHT on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as an interview with him. She hosted private listening sessions for the album in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, London, Tokyo, and Seoul. Throughout October, pop-up stores were opened in these cities as well.

Along with the usual K-Pop album packaging, cheri released six vinyl variants of the album — four standard editions and two deluxe editions.

The music videos for STAY TONIGHT, 보라빛 밤 (PURPLE NIGHT), and CONFETTI were all inspired by various movies — PURPLE NIGHT, most notably, by La La Land. cheri was praised for her aerial silk skills in the STAY TONIGHT video. she also released performance videos for DREAM OF YOU and SWEET MELODY, as well as a live band performance of HONEYMOON FADES.

ERA NOTES

The hate boner for cheri is great, but the tunes produced by her are greater. She had retirement allegations left and right. People were still calling her a nobody who wouldn’t get anywhere without a group. Talentless. But here we are.

Obviously the nosy people want to know what the fuck went down for her to just… not promote with the group for a year — and for legal reasons, cheri, the d1 yapper, is not allowed to say.

This album is very obviously a relationship heavy album theme wise, and cheri is publicly down bad, so people were kinda like wtf is going on. Then it’s a major light bulb moment when it finally clicks that some of these songs are actually about the former company and she is indeed happy to be free from their clutches. Kayla being her CEO and producer and close friend is literally like H*BE’s worst nightmare because those mfs HATE the both of them.

It was absolutely no surprise to beotkkots-cherbuds that she was being held back, especially since the only solo work she’d released was pre-pandemic and received major pushback from the company. If you told cherbuds on stan twitter in may 2019 that they would not have to defend cheri’s debut with their life, they’d absolutely not believe you. They have been in the trenches for YEARS.

She was announced as a Tom Ford Beauty ambassador a month after the album released and then it was announced she was working on a perfume collection with them.

The fandom name was officially announced/changed on November 11 — beotkkots forever, but cherbuds reign.

This was truly an album for the arts and charts. The numbers were unbelievable. By award season she was racking up the nominations, but received very few non music show wins.

It definitely seemed like overnight she went from public enemy number 1 to the people’s princess — the origin of chaeprincess, actually.

While filming officially has wrapped, it seems there's still some filming going on after the weekend, as Sam is spotted at the Loch Rannoch Hotel on 1 October. Where curiously Jamie Roy also posts from on the same day. [Later edit: They were filming some footage for the Gathering, which went live on June 1st 2025]

Driven Scotland posts the final pic of the standing stones taken on 3 October

On 4 October he flies to San Francisco to attend Top Shelf as announced. Before the meet&greet on 5 October he's at Tommy's Mexican. On 6 October the afternoon is for a football game and the evening the Awards Gala.

On 7 October he's in Daly city at Total Wine & More to sign bottles

Right after the signing he flies to LA and posts the next day, 8 October some more pics from the weekend in SF. (more pics in archive. Apparently they are filming MPC footage in LA in the next day(s).

On 10 October he posts several pics from LA, at the gym, at the Sony studios, and advertising sunnies while soaking up some sunshine in CA

On 11 October he's at the Dodgers game in LA

On 14 October he flies to NYC, while John Bell, SS and RR already have started their promo week for OL S7b, Paley Fest and NYCC and he will be at the NYCWFF

On 15 October both Caitriona and Sam are spotted in NYC

On 16 October Sam is interviewed at the Today show, while Caitriona is taping her interview with Kelly & Mark, which will air on Friday 18 October

Same day (16 October) the cast and Maril are at Paley Fest and Sam and Caitriona are interviewed on ABC News Live

17 October the OL panel is at NYCC, live streamed. Right after the panel Sam is at the 10th anniversary of HSC with JH (many pics and videos in archive from both days)

18 October seem to be a serious barhopping day or should I say night

19 October he's at his booth the NYCWFF and in the evening at the Steak&Whisky event as a special guest. (many more pics/videos in archive)

The next day he's flying back to Scotland, as OL is filming a final week of pickups.

On 25 October the final curtain falls, Cait takes of her Claire wig for the last time, thanks about everyone in a post with. Sam posts a thank you as well and his driver takes the opportunity to post a last car pic. The same evening he's a guest at the private anniversary party of the Stravaigin. Later on more pics and videos occur showing Cait, Sophie and Rik arriving at the party as well as Jamie Roy being present.

On 8 November Steven C posts a picture showing him with Sam at No. 6 Cavendish in London

On 10 November he's at the rugby match Scotland vs South Africa at Murrayfield, Edingburgh. He's not alone.

On 13 November he posts a promo video for mpc, walking somewhere in Scotland. It's not sure when the video was recorded though seems to be recent at the time of posting

On 19 November he's in London. First to appear live on the BBC The One show with Caitriona, after that attending a party hosted by Flaunt Magazine, which also posted an interview with him. The party is also for the launch on MGM+ in the UK for the 2nd part of S7. (more pics and videos in archive)

On 21 November he's in Las Vegas enjoying the F1 races for the weekend. Several pics with friends and videos from the races over Friday and Saturday (22 & 23 November) and party. On Sunday 24 November he's at the NFL game with Alex.

On 30 November he posts a video from what appears to be his home, though not 100% certain when it was recorded, it most likely was a very recent recording and it can safely be assumed he's back home.

The Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will launch this Winter. The PC versions will also be available via Microsoft Store at the same time.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. It first launched for PlayStation 5 on June 10, 2021, followed by PC via Epic Games Store on December 16, 2021, and PC via Steam on June 17, 2022. It is the predecessor to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which is currently available for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Here is a partial list of the countries Israel sent aid to, as mentioned in the summary of IDF humanitarian missions:

1. Greece (1953, 1999): Assisted survivors of an earthquake in the Ionian Islands in 1953 and supported search and rescue efforts after the Athens earthquake in 1999.

2. Cambodia (1975): Provided medical care to refugees from the Cambodian-Vietnamese conflict near the Cambodian-Thai border.

3. Mexico (1985, 2017): Sent rescue teams after the devastating 1985 Mexico City earthquake and supported damage assessments and relief efforts following the 2017 earthquake.

As we grow closer and closer to the release of Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4, I've decided to create a complete timeline of all Deltarune news and status updates from the beginning until now. Hopefully this serves as a cool archive of all the news Toby has given us over the years and serve as a valuable resource for anyone wanting to learn about the development process of Deltarune. I've included sources for every piece of information I could find. If I missed anything, let me know and I'll edit it in!

In a series of cryptic tweets, the official Undertale/Deltarune (UT/DR) Twitter urges readers to return in 24 hours.

Deltarune Chapter 1 is released through the Survey Program on the UT/DR Twitter.

Toby releases the first Deltarune Status Update. From this update we learn:

Chapter 2 began development in May of 2020 with a belief that it can be completed content-wise by the end of the year.

Chapters 3+ are basically only in the first phase (design) of development, with very little else being complete.

17 April 2021

In a Twitter thread, Toby reassures fans that development is going well, along with a picture of the giant toilet in the city.

He reveals a friend has played the beta version of Chapter 2, and her favorite character is Berdly.

20 July 2021

In the same thread, Toby reveals another friend was able to play through Chapter 2.

Toby announces the 6th anniversary Undertale livestream.

Deltarune Chapter 2 is announced for release on 17 September 2021 during the 6th anniversary livestream.

17 September 2021

Deltarune Chapter 2 is released, with a countdown in a similar style to the countdown prior to the release of Chapter 1.

Toby releases the second Deltarune Status Update. From this update we learn:

Chapter 2 is believed to be the largest chapter in the game.

The plan is no longer to release the game once all chapters are finished.

Chapters 3, 4, and 5 will be released together, and they will not be free.

The wait for the next chapters begins...

Issue 1 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Chapter 3 was going to have 4 somethings and 3 (6?) other somethings. But I've reduced the 4 somethings to 3.5 and refactored how the 3rd other something to be shorter and less something-like, while still maintaining the parenthetical (something, something)... or something.

...whatever this means...

Issue 2 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

The translation process for Chapter 3 is getting close to starting.

29 June 2023

Issue 3 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Focus is still on Chapter 3, with a few people working on other chapters.

The team is finishing the final main overworld area of Chapter 3, and when it's complete, the chapter will be playable from beginning to end.

Chapter 3 is "shaping up to be a pretty strange one." Chapter 4 will be much more standard.

15 September 2023

Issue 4 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Chapter 3 is playable from beginning to end.

A stealth focused section was cut from Chapter 3, including a cut song.

31 October 2023

A special Halloween Issue of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Chapter 3 is essentially content complete, and a friend was able to play through the entire chapter.

People are starting to transition into working on Chapter 4

Chapter 5 will no longer be released with Chapters 3 and 4.

13 February 2024

Issue 5 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

The team is working on the Chapter 3 localization.

An internal deadline has been set for Chapter 4 to be content complete, and Toby has hired a producer to speed up development.

A mysterious Valentine's Card is sent out to a small number of people subscribed to the newsletter.

16 May 2024

A Mini-Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

The team is on track to meet the internal deadline for Chapter 4.

A somewhat complicated gimmick is nearly complete.

30 July 2024

Issue 6 of the UT/DR Newsletter released. From this we learn:

All maps are done and all battles are playable for Chapter 4, with some more polish needed in other areas.

Three of Toby's friends were able to play through the entirety of Chapter 4.

Toby is no longer sure if Chapter 2 is the longest chapter.

Chapters 3 and 4 combined are longer than Chapters 1 and 2 combined.

Chapter 5's development is progressing smoothly.

Toby will need readers to help test a new Gamemaker function in the near future.

The "Quest to Release Chapter 3&4!!" is released, detailing the process still needed for Chapters 3 and 4 to release.

I won't cover everything detailed in this here, but I recommend giving it a read if you're curious about just how close we really are to the release of Chapters 3 and 4 because, well, if this is anything to go by, we're close.

14 September 2024

Issue 7 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Chapter 3's localization is in the testing phase. This process should be completed by the end of October.

Chapter 3 will likely begin PC testing in mid-October.

The internal deadline of 1 September was met for completing the main content of Chapter 4.

A preliminary pass of Chapter 4's translation is being worked on.

Chapter 5 will be the main focus of the team going forward.

11 October 2024

In a tweet, Toby mentions that Chapter 3's localization is almost complete, and PC testing of Chapter 3 begins the following Tuesday (15 October 2024).

31 October 2024

Toby announces that Chapters 3 and 4 will 100% release in 2025.

LTS Testing begins.

Issue 8 of the UT/DR Newsletter is released. From this we learn:

Testing for the new Gamemaker feature seems to have gone okay.

Professional testing for the PC version of Chapter 3 has been complete.

Chapter 3 features a long section without save points.

Only console related aspects of Chapter 3 remain.

The first Japanese translation pass of Chapter 4 has been placed into the game.

Chapter 4 will begin PC testing soon.

Many aspects of Chapter 5 are in development at once. There is a steady rate of creation.

Reaffirmation that Chapters 3 and 4 will release in 2025.

Toby posts on Bluesky revealing that Chapter 4 is now being tested by a professional team on PC.

In a post, Toby mentions that text and implementation for the translation are done and the team is just working on some lasting issues.

He also reveals that save points have been added to the light world of Chapter 4 after testers complained about the lack of them.

In a series of posts, Toby reveals that translation and PC testing for Chapter 4 is winding down.

Tomorrow (3 February 2025), console testing begins with the goal of testing Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Achievements will be added to the Playstation version of the game.

In a post, Toby mentions PS5 testing has not yet begun.

The team also just gained access to the technology that allows demo saves to be carried over to the main game, so that still needs to be implemented, too.

In a Bluesky post, Toby mentions that the team only reported one bug yesterday (2 March 2025), and that over 500 bugs have been reported since testing began on the PC version of Chapter 3 (15 October 2024).
