Florinda Fernández-Anchorena was the daughter of dr. Juan Antonio Fernández And Rosa Irene de Anchorena. She was a very prominent member of the Argentine Aristocracy. She met her future husband, Boni Castellane-Gould in Paris, since her parents spent long seasons in Paris, instead of using their palace on the Alvear Avenue, Buenos Aires. after Juan Antonio became severely injured, they decided to stay in Paris and sell their Buenos Aires palace to Adelia Harilaos de Olmos (who, toghether with María Unzúe de Alvear and Mercedes Castellanos de Anchorena, became Pontifical Marchionesses due to their generous help and donationd to the church) around 1923.

Historical Era Houses You Haven’t Seen Before - Edwardian Architecture

Edwardian architecture is the architecture style houses that were quite popular in the United Kingdom during the reign of King Edward VII. Instead of the darker and heavily cluttered Victorian houses, people needed less formal houses for themselves. Thus with the increasing demand for larger, airy homes, the architects designed this new Edwardian Styled houses. The houses were mostly two-story with broad hallways and a beautiful porch and garden.

The houses mainly featured lighter colors, huge and spacious places with simpler decorative patterns and the architects did not style the houses with many accessories. Wide staircases with big hall, floors and simple and sophisticated curtain designs are what make the Edwardian houses unique and classy. The Edwardian Houses are mainly of two-story and are quite popularly A-shaped that is they had steeping roofs. Edwardian Houses were clutter free because of the plain and simple wallpapers and curtains. The house was designed with large rooms and high ceilings. 

One of the characteristics features of Edwardian era architecture is its beautiful porches. In those time porch was considered a status symbol. With bigger hallways and many windows, Edwardian houses were quite spacious and wider than the regular Victorian homes. Edwardian Houses usually featured front garden and pavement as the people preferred privacy in those days. Flowers were usually used to complement the wallpaper and floral fabrics used in the interior. You may often find the Edwardian Houses designed in red brickwork but the architects used different designs too.

Wider hallways featured many windows at both ends with the French windows opening into the garden. The Edwardian style houses were like a breath of fresh air after the heavy interior Victorian Houses. 

Edwardian houses were very popular around 1901-1920. It is some of a few historical architectures whose examples can be seen even now in England. There are many buildings in England designed in Edwardian styles because of its unique features. They are considered valuable and antique in this modern era.
