I finally got my neocities website up and running!! Thanks to @gildedware for building the foundation!!!!

I'm currently filling the website with all my photos and whatnot for the *checks notes* 668 Pokemon I've crocheted! That's so MANY. I've got even more project-related stuff to do now yay!! And what's also great is that if Tumblr ever does go down, we can still track my progress and have everything documented on the website!! And I'll be able to add a lot of neat stuff to it in general!

mishanks mafia au where shanks is the don of the gol family and and mihawk is a hitman hired by the government (it's a conspiracy!) to kill shanks.

when mihawk shows up, shanks puts up a great fight, and even tho shanks loses (he's on the ground with hawk's blade at his throat!), mihawk decides shanks is way funner than the government and doesn't kill him after all. mihawk intends for this to be the end, with exception for perhaps more fights in the future, but shanks has already fallen on love and starts trying his damndest to get mihawk to work for the gols.

mihawk always refuses, but when the government puts out a hit on mihawk because he broke contract, mihawk finds himself thoroughly protected by the gol family anyways. shanks, however, doesn't save mihawk fast enough to spare the hitman some torture so, in retaliation, shanks brings down the entire government and exposes the conspiracy while he's at it, with the finale being a grand announcement that mihawk is his, actually, back the fuck off and don't try this again.

by the end, mihawk still doesn't work for the gols, but if he marries into the family, well. "there's still a difference, red." (shanks whines about this daily.)

although it may come as a shock based on the content of my blog i am in fact a functional adult with a full time job in stem who is somehow entrusted to manage other humans.

and i have something very important i would like to express to any of my college-ish followers who may be entering the full time workforce soon.

think of the resume you submit when you apply for a new job as a fic you just opened on ao3. you see a wall of text, you zone out. you can't process any of it. you back out of the fic and find something you can make sense of.

the lesson is: please please please for the love of god do not apply for a job with a resume that's more than three pages long MAXIMUM. i can tell you from experience literally no one is reading all of that and all it does is make it harder to understand your actual skills and experience.

So I've mentioned him a few times in previous threads but he is actually a character that appears in one of Edward's comics. That man is George Lesley and there aren't many people Eddie hates more than him, which says a lot given his attitude towards other people. To make a long story short, Lesley used to work at Arkham Asylum and seemed to be a guard which makes sense given his later post at Wayne Enterprises, leading security there. Going back into the story though. It starts off quickly and already you can see there's animosity in how Lesley addresses Edward, calling him psycho after having barged into his cell to confiscate not only his playing cards but also his bedsheets, getting physical with Edward to do so. It seems very unprofessional for a guard to be passing 'punishment' - taking the cards is one thing but to deny an inmate bedsheets seems like a massive breech of authority which leads me think there's a lot more going on between them than we're given credit for. Edward spent 4 years planning on how to get Lesley back for this slight but upon thinking about it further, this was more than about playing cards and bedsheets. Lesley had it out for Eddie from the start, singling him out for the smallest infractions and arbitrarily doling out punishment because who is going to believe the 'crazy guy' over the upstanding guard? Their hatred was mutual but aside from these incidents, Lesley does seem to have a good understanding of security and how to work well, leading me to headcanon that Edward likely threatened somebody that Lesley was close with, probably during the events of Arkham City where he kidnapped emergency personel. Even though this person didn't die, I imagine them nearly dying in one of his traps left a bad taste in Lesley's mouth. To nearly kill somebody he loved all for a game meant that when he began work at Arkham, he'd do everything in his power to make life hell for Edward, which was sadly a decision that would one day come back to haunt him.

i dont want to avoid my mom forever but like. lately talking to her rly bums me out because she somehow makes my every single problem so much worse and keeps adding new ones. i just saw her call and i was like... no. and i lied and said i cant pick up bc im hanging out. i dont want to talk to her about my problems ill just feel worse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and shell want to talk about my work and whatnot and i dont want to feel worse!!!! im sorry that her general anxiety about the world makes her the feel worse machine and im usually more understanding about that but rn im a bit stretched thin and i just cant handle it !!!!!!! i even told her that i have a short fuse nowadays and dont wanna talk with people but she thinks that doesn't apply to her when in reality it applies to her only : ( and i feel like a bad person for being like this but i just need a breatherrrrrrrrr

really it's like eating or sleeping -- you can do a little bit for today but also it will need to be done tomorrow because it's an ongoing process that won't ever be finished

in one way this is absolutely fucking maddening but in another way it's very freeing

yes the house is messy because i live here and the cleaning needs to be done because it improves my environment and i can be chill about not accomplishing 110% of this because it is not a moral failure to live in a place and tend to that place repeatedly, it's a natural ongoing process that will be repeated forever like leaves growing and falling off a tree as the seasons go on

Cleaning gets easier when you remember it's a thing you're doing to make your life less miserable, and not a thing you're doing as punishment
