Egalmoth, Lord of the House of the Heavenly Arch

I was happy with my previous attempt at Egalmoth and pretty much kept the same design from last time. The main difference this time is that I included his curved sword (and a curved dagger for good measure). Egalmoth is the first, of I think several times, where I use the star that will eventually become the heraldry of Eärendil. I liked the sense of a connection there.

I may need to retract my statement of drawing all the lords of Gondolin loll That's a lot of eldritch designs to draw! ^^;; But I'll still keep it on my to-do list as a goal to aim for XD

In the meantime, here's Lord Egalmoth with Huor as the lord shows off his fancy towers and views to the young one! I had a really strong image in my head of Egalmoth, given that his heraldry involves the rainbow, so I knew he was going to have layers of colourful cloth. He also has the specific jewels of his heraldry shaped as orbs hanging from his layers XD I really like how it all turned out!

Also!! As an eldritch-related note, I've started posting my not-safe-for-eyeballs doodles on AO3! If you'd like to see some Tuor/Idril action, or even some Finrod/Beor stuff, feel free to check it out! And feel free to share if you'd like to see any particular pairings; I can't guarantee I'll do them all, but I'll definitely add them to my list XD

All these gentlemen were drawn as part of the Gondolin Gang series for intea (my deep gratitude for this opportunity and inspiration ♥). Of course I will draw the remaining two, but now I want to show the finished ones 😃

I tried to draw different but stylistically similar and simple outfits, hairstyles and faces, so that one could believe that they live at the same time and in the same place, being in an everyday (medieval) environment - most of them had small bags for small things and clothes whose fit is regulated by a belt and not by patterns.

Egalmot got the most complex background - there's a cat there, did you see it? 🐈

I headcanon that the lords of Gondolin who were Aredhel's guards (Ecthelion, Glorfindel, Egalmoth) were those who killed Eol in the end. I think it's interesting to explore how this event can be considered as kinslaying and how those who were/weren't involved in the First Kinslaying lived it. Especially Glorfindel who did not take part in the kinslaying and felt much guilt about Aredhel's fate.

ive had vague concepts for the lords for gondolin floating around my noggin since late 2021, but never really sat down to get em drawn... so during my hiatus i figured i should stop sitting on it after 2917382 years 😴 tho mostly i just wanted to do another relationship chart bc the first three i made in june were! so!! fun!!!

let me know if the text is too hard to read... hopefully it wont be on desktop but ill see what i can do if need be 👍

Spring sleepover: Lords of Gondolin 🌱🧡

The previous set (Fëanorians) were inspired by cherry blossoms, the lords of Gondolin are apple blossom themed! It's the first time I've ever drawn all of the lords of Gondolin so the designs are not fully set yet.
