So I was talking to a friend about breed standards of dogs vs cats and how the way cats are described is, yes, often flowery, but they generally aren't harmful. (Persians excluded, they're suffering the same problems as pugs and the standards and even the LAW needs to change around this, creating unsound animals for looks is legitimately evil).

One of the breed standards for Chihuahua mentions something I'd not heard before.

I was like, wtf is a molera, so I looked it up. It's a soft spot. A fucking SOFT SPOT IN THEIR SKULL.

Now The European Kennel Club (EKC) views it as always being a fault (BECAUSE IT FUCKING IS).

It is interesting to read how the AKC lists breed standards vs the Cat Fancier Association.
