We got a puppy, in theory I'm going to post about her a bit over on my old pet side blog @elderdoggo her name is Suzi and she is 12 weeks old.

Currently laying on the ground with Luna she whined when getting up and her back foot kept knuckling over when she was walking so I'm just trying to get her to rest. She has a senior pets blood panel for organ functions a urinalysis and a heart analysis test running at the vet it should be done by Friday and they'll call us with the results. The vet we saw is worried it could be dilated cardiomyopathy which in a nearly 10 year old Irish wolfhound cross is a fair concern. The good news about that is there is a medication for that which can double her time left, the bad news would be whatever the price for it is I don't know what it will be and I can't work to pitch in to pay for it so it's entirely up to my parents if we go the medication route or just wait to see how long she still has good Quality of life... Needless to say I'm taking this rough we have her eating more again but she's lost at least ten pounds since she was at the vets at the end of summer

Luna likes to play bitey face to she snuffles in your face for a bit and if you snuffle back or blow on her nose its the cue that bitey face game has begun she will bitey and you blow on her.

Rogue was in a playful mood the other day and I encouraged it. He tried to play bitey face with me 😂 alas I do not have a snoot to snip snap with

We have a swarm of bees making themselves at home on a tree in our backyard that our neighbours who keep bees are trying to catch. Which means Luna a notorious bee biter can't go in the backyard loose right now, so we took her for a walk last evening and I took her for one as soon as we got up. If they are still here by the time it heats up we are going to have to just attach a tie out line to the supports on the deck, it'll be WAY to hot for her or us to go for a walk then. I'll attach a picture of the bees in a reblog tagged bees for anyone who doesn't like bees. Until then enjoy this sleepy early morning picture of Luna ready to go for her walk.

We had some flooding in the basement a couple days back, and while moving and sorting through things I found an old handkerchief I used to use underneath a helmet that fits Luna perfectly which means I need to find all my old handkerchiefs because I've got a bunch in that size that are much more colourful than this one

Luna likes to sit on the arm of the sofa to look out the windows in the living room and watch the world go by

We had a good sized thunder cell roll directly over us today, one lightning strike hit so close the thunder came almost before I'd processed that I'd noticed lightning and it even made me jump, needless to say Luna is not having a great evening

Brought Luna to the vet today since we found a lump on her tail, the vet wasn't concerned about the lump and told us to keep an eye on it for the next month or so and that if nothing changed it should be fine. She got her shots and a physical exam and the vet said she's in very good health for a geriatric dog. She also got lots of compliments both when we where walking around the hour before her appointment and by staff at the clinic.

Luna had a fairly thorough brushing yesterday she probably needs another brushing in a day or so when I recover a bit but here's the majority of her undercoat on our backyard

Luna saw a dog outside and when I told her to hush she started huffing at it instead of barking which I mean she did listen so I can't fault her

We had some freezer burnt grouse in the deep freeze so we boiled it up and now I'm going to cut it into chunks to put in Luna's food through the week. Something tells me she's excited

Elder doggie continues to do well and she got a new bow tie for her collar, neither of us are as active anymore but she adores her playdates

Lu does not appreciate my morning routine when I have to go work since it makes it so I can't pet her, but since i know she won't get pats while I'm gone i give her all the pats she wants

Luna is getting to go for lots of walks recently since we have company
