talia had a pretty good and regular childhood. her parents had her when they were thirty years old and settled into their lives, and she was an only child all her life. her dad worked a job that often took him out of ellingham, often needing to go to london, vancourver, toronto, nyc, paris, etc. but wasn’t a big executive that made a lot of money, and her mother worked from home, and they belonged to the middle class. therefore, pretty ordinary childhood. she had a good relationship with her parents, they talked about everything openly, and though they did argue from time to time, of course, they had a pretty good lil family. 

she did start to party a lot towards her last two years of high school, though, and got pregnant after hooking up with WANTED CONNECTION #06 at a party. talia decided to keep the child, and though she told the other parent that she didn’t necessarily want their financial support, since they were just as young as she was, she did ask them to be part of their child’s life. the rest of talia’s relationship with that person will be determined once someone applies for this connection!

she was seventeen years old when her son, leo, was born, and luckily enough for her, he was born the summer right after she had graduated high school (since high school ends at 17 in québec). she decided not to go to cégep, and to find a job instead, so that she could help pay for all the things she and leo would need. her parents offered to help, and they did help a lot in the beginning, but talia didn’t feel comfortable with that, and now only lets them spoil leo (they are his grandparents after all) and pay for 25% of her rent. 

she lives in an half-basement-ish type of apartment with leo, now, which is only a five minutes drive away from talia’s parents’ house. they do have boundaries about when they can visit each other, though, as they want talia to feel like a real adult tm since she literally has a child. also, they respect her privacy, so!

talia currently works as a secretary at the maison des marguerites, aka ellingham’s nursing home, and is well loved by all its residents and their visitors. she’s just???? really agreeable and kind to people, and a good person overall, and it shows.

ALCOHOL, DRUGS & ALZHEIMER TW. can be uptight, though. like, when she partied in high school, she had to get really drunk and/or high to be able to let loose and have fun, otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to. she never had black outs, though, always managing to keep control of herself, as losing control was a big fear of hers after seeing her grandma deal with alzheimer’s. 

ALZHEIMER & GRANDPARENTAL DEATH TW. her grandma was probably talia’s favourite person in the world, so it was very difficult to lose her last year. she was the one who had managed to convince the nursing home’s manager to hire talia, before the alzheimer took over. i won’t go into details about the whole alzheimer thing, because my own grandma suffered from it and it makes me a sad sam tm, but i’ll just say that it was very hard for talia in the last two years of her grandmother’s life. it’s why she keeps a picture of her grandma, and a picture of leo, in a lil heart-shaped locket that she wears most of the time.

he’s  lived  in  town  his  entire  life,  and  while  he  hates  it,  he  can’t  bring  himself  to  leave,  either.

christian’s  not  a  personable  guy,  he  has  very  few  friends,  and  most  people  tend  to  avoid  him  because  he’s  bad  news.

a  college  education  wasn’t  particularly  important  to  him  so  he  dropped  out  and  decided  he’d  start  selling  drugs  to  get  by  as  he’s  more  happy  doing  that  than  he  was  studying.

he’s  rather  selfish,  and  often  doesn’t  consider  how  other  people  will  feel  when  he’s  doing  something.

he  has  an  older  brother  and  a  younger  sister  (  making  him  the  middle  child,  obvi  )  who  are  much  less  horrible  than  him  and  he  isn’t  close  with  either  of  them.  honestly,  he  doesn’t  really  like  either  sibling  but  he  would  defend  them  if  it  came  down  to  it.

he  is  independent  as  hell  and  has  always  been  that  way,  he  does’t  rely  on  anyone  but  himself  and  plans  on  keeping  it  that  way.

he’s  self  motivated,  his  actions  are  almost  never  sincere,  he  usually  does  whatever  he  thinks  is  going  to  benefit  him.

christian  has  broken  his  fair  share  of  hearts,  and  will most  likely  continue  down  that  path.

emotions  aren’t  something  he’s  good  at  expressing,  he  gets  easily  frustrated  and  tends  to  be  rather  snappy  towards  anyone  and  everyone.

christian  doesn’t  really  care  what  anyone  thinks  of  him,  he  only  cares  about  his  own  opinions.

he  doesn’t  have  life  goals,  he’s  just  going  with  the  cards  he’s  been  dealt.

BACKGROUND

arielle  was  born  to  two  prominent  figures  in  entertainment  -  elias  ford  &  carmen  silva. 

her  mother  had  been  an  actress  &  singer  ,  whilst  her  father  had  been  a  director.  they  were  jacks  of  all  trade  ,  always  trying  something  new  even  up  until  their  passing.

they  were  close  friends  of  the  nadeau’s  &  after  their  passing  ,  she  was  taken  in  by  them.  

she’s  always  been  extremely  close  to  them  ,  especially  her  siblings.  she  even  ended  up  taking  their  surnames. 

but  ,  she  often  felt  like  a  burden  ,  like  she  was  invading  their  space  or  that  they  only  took  her  in  out  of  pity  despite  it  being  quite  evidently  not  the  case  ,  thoughts  she’s  always  so  desperately  tried  to  push  away.

she  remembers  very  little  of  this  time  ,  a  few  hazy  memories  here  &  there  ,  most  of  what  she  knows  is  from  what  she’s  been  told  ,  watching  some  of  their  old  films.

when  she  was  five  ,  they  moved  to  ellingham  ,  where  she’s  lived  for  most  of  her  life.

she  &  her  siblings  had  far  from  a  normal  childhood  ,  even  in  the  serene  quietness  of  ellingham.  they  were  indulged  to  the  max  &  still  are.  they  got  the  best  education  ,  got  almost  everything  you  wanted.  you’d  expect  everything  to  be  pretty  plain  sailing  for  them  looking  in. 

but  as  she  grew  older  the  less  happy  she  grew  with  that.  she’s  always  hated  relying  on  other  people  ,  always  felt  like  a  bit  of  a  burden  ,  something  that  sometime’s  makes  her  lash  out.  so  ,  independence  is  something  she  always  craved. 

she’s  been  passionate  about  writing  since  she  was  a  child  ,  something  that  her  parents  always  encouraged.  she  was  often  writing  scripts  for  them  all  to  perform  in  the  living  room  at  family  get  togthers  and  christmas. 

she  hopes  to  make  a  difference  with  her  writing  &  to  tell  the  stories  of  voices  that  are  often  ignored  by.

she  came  home  a  year  ago  after  studying  at  NYU  for  three  years  ,  now  living  with  one  of  her  closest  friends  from  high  school.

angelina was born on january 28th of 2000 right here in ellingham. this makes her a nineteen year old aquarius sun, scorpio moon. 

she had a very good grasp of her gender identity from very young. she always felt supported at home, so she transitioned pretty young, as well.

while growing up, she was a very quiet, peculiar child. she basically had no friends besides her mother and spent most of her time being way too focused on her ballet and art. her go-to expression was vacantly staring at random people.

with all that being said, she still graduated as salutatorian (2nd) of her class, due to her impeccable amount of focus.

she didn’t really get a chance to come out of her shell until the summer after her senior year. that was when she was hired as the clerk for the local toy store. even though she’s very introverted, she’s forced to be incredibly social when she’s on the clock, which she despises.

after high school, she also grew more stubborn and obstinate. she moved out of her mother’s home six months ago after she blew a mild argument out of proportion. she hasn’t spoken to her mother since. now, she needs a place to crash on the couch of.

she feels as if she doesn’t belong here anymore. her go-to response to trouble is to just run away from her problems. that’s why whenever there’s doubt as to her whereabouts, you can bet that she’s most likely taking the train down to manhattan. she loves that city, because with so many people walking around, she’s seen as much less of a freak. she enjoys being a small fish in a big pond and she feels as if she can’t get that by being a toy store clerk in a small town, where everyone knows everyone.

picture her as like a cross between rory gilmore (later seasons mainly) and the basket case from the breakfast club.

Marcie came as a slightly late Christmas present to a mother with dreams for a girl who would reach beyond the stars. A laughing, smiling little girl who wanted for nothing and gave little fuss. She played her part well; sitting through lessons in piano, voice and cello on top of dance for years. There was no complaining allowed, no going outside of what was planned out for her. Hard work was rewarded greatly but always always expected… On the occasion that Marcie was allowed to actually be herself, or even act like a regular kid, she found herself feeling more rambunctious, loud, and overall a sarcastic shit. But after one of her friends mother’s had a conversation with her own, that was quick to die out. She learned how to make people see a certain side of her, how to change like a chameleon changes their skin.

Marcie’s  father was a man with habits that required a good poker face, a lot of white lies and a “grass is always greener…” attitude. Family felt like a trap and it was the one thing she agreed with the man on. Family began to feel like a restriction of self, high expectations and mostly feeling as though there was no real escape. A person can’t help but feel restless when things aren’t ‘right’. The kicker for her, though, was nothing ever felt ‘right’. She was always striving to find her place, her worth, somewhere to actually call hers.

She floated from friend group to friend group, hanging just on the outside of everything to be seen as someone who was kind and caring but never enough for people to find out who she really was.

for a very long while, marcie felt nothing but anger at her situation. after her mothers death her father decided to take the two of them back to his hometown. the one he had sworn he never wanted to see again. she managed to keep the facade going, pretending to be the perfect kid. finished school, went to the college in town, found people to be around enough to call friends.  then at the drop of a dime, she exploded. the world caved in on her, the world was no longer perfect. she’d blown up on her dad; blaming him for her mother’s accident. blaming him for why she wasn’t able to feel settled into the world. marcie dropped out of school, deciding that she really didn’t want to waste money when she didn’t know what she wanted from  life. she had begun to distance herself in fear of taking any emotions she had out on the people around her. she isolated herself, no longer able to keep up the front that she was just this sweet polite girl. at 21 she stopped talking to her father all together.

it had lasted three years, she would see him in town and would walk the other direction. her father was someone she would see all of her faults in, someone who reminded her of the person her mother tried to mold her into. and at times she was still the girl who had  impeccable manners, that was gentle and well spoken. essentially the embodiment of “sit still look pretty”. Basically, you couldn’t tell the difference between her and a nice vase of daisies. This was the version of herself that she wanted to bury but it came out when she met new people, people who had only seen that side of her and especially when she visits her father now.  slowly however she began to settle into the person she wanted to be. inside she felt as though she should be  bigger than life, to be the person to go dancing in the rain, to have awful pop music blasting throughout the house, laugh at everything and then nothing,  to have tears in her eyes from feeling too much, daydreaming about running away or at least going on a country wide road trip. This was the version of herself that she wanted to bring to the light and she worked hard at expressing it. 

photography sort of fell into her lap. after she gave up on college, she became a nanny. she had loved working one on one with kids but didnt want to really keep with schooling so it worked out perfectly. one day the family she worked for gifted her their old digital camera to test out. she found a calling. since the age of 24 she has been building up her business and has been working on getting a studio space.

Close friends: Confidants? Reckless Adventures? sipping wine and sharing memes til all hours of the night? sharing every fault and fear and joke? 

Muse: Someone who Marcie always goes to when they need to shoot, someone she can’t get enough photos of.

her biological parents couldn’t afford a child under any circumstances, so madeliene was placed up for adoption. it was a closed adoption and both families had little to no contact throughout the process. 

her family had three children before adopting mads. her siblings have always been stand-offish and the youngest is about 10 years older than her, so they all kind of shut her out. 

growing up she had everything she wanted but was still an extremely lonely person. she had a few good friends and that kept her chin up.

she landed a job at cinéma desrosiers as a concession worker when she was 17 and has worked there since. she doesn’t love it and she doesn’t hate it. it became a full-time job that pays when she’s not getting commissioned after she dropped out of college. 

she was expected to do well in school, follow in their footsteps. go to a prestigious university and get a degree that pays more than just the bills. when she decided to pursue a career in photography, specifically doing freelance work, her parents weren’t all that enthusiastic or supportive. she dropped out during her second semester :^) madeliene was never very good at homework, taking tests, or even really going to school. actually, she hated school and having to sit through classes. 

anywayyy she moved out at like,,, twenty? after realizing her parents weren’t going to support anything she had ambition for and it was as you could imagine v hard. she wasn’t used to paying her own bills and had no idea how to manage the money she earned. she fell short and couldn’t keep up with her responsibilities often. she ended up couch surfing and living in between friends' houses for a while before moving in with a roommate.

mia fisher grew up in a small town quite like ellingham. her family hadn’t been wealthy, honestly, they didn’t have anything. between her three siblings and her parents, it was hard keeping enough food on the table growing up. but she knew love, and that’s what counted in the end right? warmth, love, knowing that at the end of the day you could still be happy even with your tummy rumbling. no matter how many hours her father worked, he had always managed to find an hour to read with his four girls. it was a habit that really shaped mia into the person she became. books were an escape. a get away. it was the only time they had always always been together.  

 it could be easy to look back on those days with nostalgia once you left it. she’d been mediocre in school. able to pass with c’s or b’s and if she was lucky or the class was really easy an a wasn’t too far off. but she hadn’t really cared about doing well in school. she cared about her writing, she cared about reading stories that took her far away from the life she had. Working a crap after school job just to help out with bills and make sure she had what she needed to not fall entirely behind. 

books had always been there. they’d always had some way of making her feel at peace all over again.

moving away from her family had nearly killed her. she felt alone and afraid and it was hard for her to adjust to having strangers surrounding her at all times. she had managed to get into a good school. went for business because it could potentially pay the bills. worked nights to pay for it and to send whatever she could home to help her parents and two younger sisters. mia was TIRED to say the least. she wanted a way out. and then she met Rob. 

he gave her security, love, affection, anything she wanted, anything she even thought about. it was a rush, to go from working so hard to just focusing on that feeling of love and security she hadn’t ever known before. after a year and a half of dating they got married. she was 23 and he was 25. the world seemed alright, it seemed like this was what she’d been waiting for. a break.  but she had to play by his rules. a toe out of line and suddenly she would be without certain things, she’d be without money and the things she was growing used to having. 

she managed to graduate college, and he uprooted her life yet again. she was kept away from her family. kept away from her friends. she felt more alone that ever before and turned once again to books for escape.

mia stayed with rob for about five years. at that time, she finally called it quits and went on to continue living her life. for a while it was more struggles and trails until her younger sister reached out offering a place to stay in ellingham. they reconnected and mia had been sure this was the place for her. she felt right at home with the people in town right away. she became a participating member of the community as quickly as she could and even opened her own bookstore in town. it’s her way of feeling connected to her family and to those in town. mia has essentially become someone who is very protective of the people she knows and especially the ones who don’t have a great home life. she helps and gives what she is able.

Hendrix Daniels.  His name is known by many due to his chosen career path, CEO of one of the best marketing company in Ellingham. 

Henry moved here when he turned 18, studied and got a apprenticeship the day he left school. There’s no stretching the truth when people say he’s great at what he does, because he is and that’s how he ended up in the role he is today. It’s his number one priority, a somewhat unhealthy work to play balance has definitely consumed him more over the past last three years as he climbed the ladder within the industry.

Growing up he hardly saw either parents as they both worked full time and took so much pride in their work that he truly did come second, not that it bothered him. From a young age Henry learnt how to be happy in his own presence. He had hobbies such as reading, writing, drawing and all of which help him to this day

Work is his number one priority yes but he does still have interests in other places, he is just yet to learn how to balance it all as all he knows is work. Hendrix does dream of having a family and living one big happy fairy tale, but the logical part within him knows it’ll never happen. 

Socially he knows more people through his job than outside of it, and it’s just how his life seemed to work best. You’ll often catch him hanging out with work colleagues, that’s if you see him out at all. The only real time you’ll catch him maybe for a short hello is on his walk to work which his stops for a coffee.

like his dad maybe told him once that he loved him in all his life? and twice that he was proud of him. that’s it. on the other hand, his mother tells him every day ergouergoirejgijore. still babies him to this day tbh.

his house (more specifically his basement) was a rallying point for him and his friends ever since he was like, 4 years old. it wasn’t fancy or anything. pretty basic, actually, but his parents pretty much never bothered them there, there was always a fridge full of snacks, and he had tons of toys always. (later on the toys didn’t matter as much but he still had a lot of them and insisted on the fact that they were action figures).

you know what? instead of making him a star wars fan like eric, he’s gonna be a huge marvel fan. both comics and mcu. as a dc comics fan? lowkey hurts me, but! he’s very valid! and he’ll argue with you about it too (i hope he won,t have to bc iDK where i’ll find my arguments but)

loves playing dungeons and dragons and loves comics. obvi, marvel comics, but also image comics, oni press, dc comics, etc. marvel might be his fave, but he doesn’t stop there. ALSO!!!!!!! he collects marvel comics. and marvel action figurines.

loves reading too but reads more comics in a total amount of pages than he does novel pages. but he reads a LOT so ergoijeriogrejgeoijer.

realized he was gay when he was sixteen and his chemistry partner kissed him and he was like “woah. i liked that.”

he never thought he was bi, honestly. as soon as he realized he liked guys, it made him realize A LOT about himself. like, the realization came suddenly, but very strongly. 

he honestly had difficulty telling his friends bc he was often the butt of their jokes and he was scared that’d make it worse, but they couldn’t have been more accepting? they acted the same way towards him, still teasing him and making him the butt of their jokes, but never for the fact that he’s gay.

he ended up telling his dad when he was 21 (his mom knew since he was seventeen), and though he went fishing immediately after he told him, when he came back he actually told étienne he was proud of him for being strong and proud of who he was. it was v emotional.

OH it took him a year off to realize what he wanted to do, but he ended up deciding to become a primary school teacher, and he’s been loving it so far. like, he studied in montréal, then came back to teach in ellingham, and he honestly loves it. to be fair, even when he studied in montréal he spent his weekends/vacations/etc in ellingham but ergoiejrgoierjoijger
