being a Star Trek fan is watching tos and hearing this beautiful Vulcan theme that is so evocative and captures the majesty and the mysteriousness of the tos Vulcans so well and being like “wow, let me look up what this theme is called so I can listen to it again!” and then. well. huh. well. ok. there’s plenty of schrodinger’s trans characters in Star Trek but one that I think we don’t really appreciate as much is seven? Like plenty of people do headcanon her as trans but I don’t think we talk enough about the fact that the borg definitely canonically don’t have a concept of individual genders so like if seven identifies as anything other than like……. us/ours (plural) for the rest of her life then she definitely unequivocally does not identify with her agab (assigned gender at borg)

una calls chris babygirl in private (ironically?). spock and erica know this and start doing it too as a joke behind his back. multiple bridge officers catch on and suddenly everyone is saying it. spock is somewhat mortified but erica and christine are actively egging it on. six months later and three bottles of wine into a dinner party hemmer is assuring nyota, “no it’s an inside joke he doesn’t mind if you call him that” and half the bridge officers are about to witness the funniest thing that has ever happened to them. also somehow una, chris, AND nyota are NEVER going to live this down

i am hyperfixated on the idea that there’s a whole swath of starfleet officers who think the “destruction” of the discovery was a section 31 conspiracy and they’re still out there somewhere. and the discovery becomes like part of the starfleet mythos. and chris keeps running into cadets who wrote their senior thesis about “what really happened to the discovery.” and 9000 years into the future michael keeps running into people that are actually disappointed to learn that the discovery went into the future and there was no conspiracy.

so t’pring always calls chris by his first name and I can only imagine this is because

1. she doesn’t respect him or starfleet as an institution and is always passive aggressively chrising him to his face to remind him of that

OR

2. they are buddies and on a first name basis and spock just has to deal with the fact that his fiancee is like besties with his boss

and both are like outrageously funny so I don’t even care which one it is
