Cassius : I don’t talk about this guy that often BUT I SHOULD… that being said, he would probably strangle someone. Tho he never would- not even imagine it. Hes a huge pacifist

Charles : Notably Suffocation and Knife. Thats what he did BEFORE (dun dun dun)

Donny : Another lesser talked about oc, but me thinks it would have sumthing to do with his claws.

Emoc : oh 110% strangulation. Probably homoerotic to him /j/

Flip : Truth be told, despite being an infernal god, I don’t think he’d kill people. That being said,,, probably something similar to Absynth

21. What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?

Emoc : Mmm… Truthfully, I don’t think there would be anything thats “the last straw”. The only reason he really broke up with Alec was Samuel going “wow, okay, thats a really fucked up relationship”. Emoc just doesn’t have a grasp on when someone is hurting him in any way other than physically in some capacity. He just misses the social cues for most people’s anger, malice and verbal berating. People have also insulted him so casually throughout most of his life, so he just doesn’t get offended- especially when it gets to how he acts and looks.

Samuel : It’s fun to include him even though he would never date for love ✨ Final straw for him would be putting him in harms way. Whether that be abuse or a dangerous job, he’s particularly keen on keeping himself healthy and safe. I’d say he might also break up with someone for petty reasons too tbh. If his partner teased him about his appearance in any capacity, the relationship would probs be over.

I didn’t really??? Include a whole lot in this ask bc?? Mostly everyone has a head on their shoulders when it comes to dating. Sure they have their own small boundaries, but I think most of my ocs wouldn’t break up w/ someone unless they 1) lost feelings in some capacity or 2) were being actively abused and manipulated.

break: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

Samuel : NON-CANONICALLY, The loss of his Chosen Brother Noah and his moms. Samuel is already a functioning alcoholic as is, so if he loses any of the three, let alone ALL of them (which is how it happens in canon- think “death comes in threes” type thing), he is TOAST. Like he is going down the spiral. But in canon that doesn’t happen. I would say Rodger has definitely seen him at his worst tho.

Emoc : The loss of Samuel might just kill him LMAO. He’s a wee bit codependent on Samuel, and while Im confident he could function without Samuel, it would be devastating. He would probably stop grinning, act somewhat normal (maybe even depressed), sluggish and sad. He’d probably drink more too.

Charles : He would probably lose his mind if Rodger got hurt or died in some capacity. Rodger means a hell of a lot to Charles- most importantly, he’s a huge support and father figure. Chatles would probably react to Rodger’s death like if someone lost their parent they had a good relationship with. There’s a Rodger-shaped hole in his heart, and if he lost him, it would be like losing a part of himself, in a way. Iykwim.

Rodger : Any of his friends dying, but more importantly, his son. If Kaz died, he would be heartbroken. You hear of people dying of a broken heart- well Im p sure that would happen if his son died. He loves Kaz so much- he’s done so much to protect and take care of the literal angel. Kaz was born (more like hatched) when Rodger was, like, 17, and Kaz was a big factor in him escaping the life he had atp. Kaz saved his life in a lot of ways. I think close second would be Samuel, since he sees him much like a son, AND Samuel is the same age as Kaz (so it really lines up in his brain). Im sure you’d be able to tell if someone he loved died- I dont think he’d relapse or anything, but he would probably be super depressed. Like no motivation, no hope, nothing.

8. Does your OC pursue only monogamous relationships? Or are they open to other, more creative, options?

Emoc : I think he would be up for polyamory, but Im not sure he would ever have the opportunity to be in one relationship, let alone multiple. He’s not exactly the most charming and attractive people, and he doesn’t seek out relationships of that variety after Alec (tho Im sure he could find the right person- they would just have to be healthy).

Samuel : Monogamous ONLY. He’d be wicked possessive if he got into a true romantic relationship. He probably wouldn’t verbalize it, but he’s the kind of guy that says his partner is “[theirs]” iykwim.

Charles : Monogamous as well, but I do think he would open to try polyamory in the sense of his partner having other partners. It’s just so hard for him to get interested in people, let alone open up to them in any capacity, so he doesn’t think he’d be attracted to multiple people.

Rodger : Monogamous strictly. With no wiggle room. He’s not necessarily “old school” but he definitely wants just one partner and to eventually get married.

Absynth : Polyamorous in its fullest definition. He’s pretty confident, so he thinks he can pull (which he can, but even if he didn’t, he’s think that). By extension, anyone he chooses to see is capable of getting multiple partners in his eyes. Not possessive or anything.

Jakk : Im including him for one reason- sexual relationships. Not only is he the god of fertility, but also sex. So he’s out doing his thing. He’s really polyamorous when it comes to sexual relationships. As long as someone knows there’s no romantic feelings involved, he’s more than willing to see them consistently. If he were to get any sort of romantic feelings for someone, it would also be polyamorous bc he wouldn’t change his sexual habits for anyone.

Flip : Monogamous and fiercely loyal to Melissa. He’s not necessarily the “wife guy” iykwim, but he’s definitely not quiet about his love for her. I don’t think he could ever be polyamorous.

Im surprised I don’t have more polyamorous characters. Very strange, but a good 90% of the gods are polyamorous so that makes up for it /j

Emoc : He’s the trivia guy. U mention something you like in passing and it’s in his permanent memory. It could be a relatively unknown b list movie or the most obscure reference, and he will remember it. And YES. He does “use it against” you. In the nicest ways possible. Something is your favorite color, and it’s something wildly obscure you mentioned? Favorite special edition vinyls? You will find it in your possessions randomly.

Samuel : Doing Chores for someone- but especially baking. I used to headcanon that he was a TERRIBLE cook, but I honestly think he would know how to bake- There is a huge difference between the two in his mind, and it shows in his food LMAO

Emoc : You’d assume he’s got at least one body under his belt BUT YOU WOULD BE WRONG! He’s never had to or really wanted to kill someone. I think he would, but the circumstances would be very specific. However, with Alec, he definitely broke his heart. Like 110%.

Samuel : Head in hands,,, so it begins- Yes! He has killed before. Multiple times, actually, BUT I WONT GET INTO IT… Never broken hearts or anything otherwise.

Charles : Yep! He’s killed before too, but Id have to go over the story™️ that lead to what happened. He also hasn’t broken any hearts

Rodger : Probably the one oc with the most bodies, but like charles, I would have to go over the events that led to him doing so iykwim? You’d never even assume he had killed anyone- He just really turned his life around (particularly for his son Kaz). Never broken hearts, only mended them /hj/.

Igor : Ive been avoiding talking about Igor bc he isn’t particularly my favorite, but he’s another one of those ocs that you would think he’s killed, but no. He doesn’t date or anything, so hes never had an opportunity to break a heart.

Zander : You already know this but… yea, ofc he has. He’s got lore behind each one bc he doesn’t exactly kill to kill, if that makes sense? It’s his twisted view on protection. Never broken hearts either tho

Midnight

midnight: What keeps your OC up at night? Do they have nightmares? Fears? Anxieties? What do they do in the small hours of the morning when they should be sleeping?

HEHE THIS ONE IS FUN

Emoc : He avoids sleep until his body physically pushes him to pass out bc every time he sleeps, he gets really horrific nightmares from past traumas. Emoc has those deep eye bags for a reason LOL. He’s not afraid of a lot, except for heights and SPECIFICALLY Zander. Otherwise, he’s got a bad concept of self preservation and will charge head first into anything with no fear. When no one is awake, and it’s just Emoc alone, it usually just sits there and thinks. He really doesn’t do anything. Emoc is usually sat at the end of his bed, legs off of it, hands in his lap, just staring into THE NOTHING. Iykwim. He doesn’t really have a ton of hobbies, and tech really confuses him in general, so yea. Processing time?

Rodger : Much like Emoc, he too has nightmares. Except Rodger’s nightmares are on a higher level than Emoc. Technically speaking, Rodger is half dream demon (a specific species I made- it’s not called that), so he is IN his nightmares. It’s not just that he’s experiencing a replay of the events, he is physically there, as if its reality. Think of reality, how it feels, and then imagine reality somehow feeling more real- Thats his dreams. So when he has his trauma nightmares, it really fucks with his mental health- So he too pushes his body to the point of passing out. He’s a generally worrisome and anxious person, but not necessarily fearful.

Zander : Went thru some pretty heinous shit as a kid and has nightmares about them. This is, however, NOT the cause of his insomnia and restlessness. He just has clinical insomnia NOT caused by trauma. I think if he had anything that “keeps him up at night”(metaphorically), it would have to do with a specific traumatic event between he and his brother.. since hes awake a good 85% of the time, he goes on a lot of night walks. All over the city, and because hes so confident in his self protection I mean ALL over.

Only doing these three bc everyone else sleeps very well at night.

desire: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

Going to do more than one OC, and only ones u kno,,, bc im love this one

Samuel : True, real, romantic love- It’s all he wants, but it’s something he’ll never let himself have. Only his best friends know he wants to settle down with a partner, but he sees relationships as transactional to a certain degree. All of his previous marriages were essentially jobs for him, and that mentality just stuck. It makes him miserable but at the same time he’s actually quite adverse to find real love- Just like his dad.

Emoc : A real family- A mom, a dad, some siblings. But he will never get that, not even in a chosen sense. Rodger’s the closest thing he’ll ever have to a father, but there is no one he would call a sibling, and he really doesn’t know any women. He’s not open about his want for a family, especially in relation to wanting a mother, but he’d open up quick when asked. While he doesn’t go out of his way to meet new people, hes not even sure what a real family is supposed to look like. He has an idealized version of family in his head, and he hasn’t seen it in person.

Rodger : A family, but in a different way than Emoc. But also at the same time, some peace and respite. He wants to have another kid and be married, live in his house. Live out that picture perfect marriage. Rodger already has a grown son, Kaz, but he really just wants to settle down with someone. He’s also not open about it.

Charles : To start over. If he had been born in a different body, a different life, maybe things would be better. He desires so badly to be okay, to be happy and stable, but it’s always fleeting. With severe trauma under his belt, it weighs on him and drags him down. He would do anything but die to get a second chance at life. Charles has people he loves and cares about, he could never leave them, but there’s a stain on his soul.

16) how do they take criticism

Emoc : I honestly think he takes criticism really well. He probably lives and breathes people telling him when hes doing something wrong or bad. Due to how he was raised (or lack thereof), he has no real idea on how most things go. So he really relies SPECIFICALLY on Samuel for criticism and pointers.

Samuel : he will kill you /heavy j/. No but he really dislikes criticism. He will try to hear it out, but I think he will be really bitchy about it. I think he would probably criticize you back in some capacity, but it mostly depends on who it is. If it’s his friends, he would probably be less bitchy (gen the only word that comes to mind for the behavior but Im sure there’s better words) and take it to heart. If it’s someone he doesn’t know, they get the,, mean attitude? Idk if that’s better than bitchy but ihykwim

Charles : He lives by the philosophy of “don’t take criticism from people you wouldn’t ask for advice”. If it’s something to do with his bartending skills, he’ll probably listen for that specific patron. He has a really good memory. Elephant metaphor here.

Rodger : He hears all criticism out, but whether or not he takes it is a more logical process. He tries to view things from a factual/objective stance, but he can definitely see when something is bullshit.

Jakk : He will kill you (half serious). To him, criticism is annoying, insulting, and unneeded. As a god of knowledge, he thinks he knows everything (he doesn’t, shocker), so he doesn’t even listen to criticism from his brother. Depending on tone and language used, he might just smite you on the spot and be done with it. If you’re eloquent about it, or rational in some capacity, he might at least let you finish.

Flip : He will get pissed off, but give him 7-10 business days to process it. That way he might take something to heart or at least calm down enough to rationally look at the criticism. Doesn’t always listen, but he talks it out in his brain. He listens to all criticism from Melissa ofc ofc, he’s a huge simp (lovingly calling him that).

Absynth : It really depends on who is giving him criticism tbh. If it’s from other gods, especially Kia or Tique (whenever he is reformed/before split), hes more inclined to hear someone out. But if its was any sort of mortal- he wouldn’t listen at all.

6. Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?

Emoc : SAMUEL… Anything Samuel gives as advice, Emoc follows to a T. He does often get advice from Rodger, but because he’s attached at the hip with Samuel, he takes Samuel’s word as King. HOWEVER- He would never take Igor’s advice. Igor is bad at it anyways LMAO

Samuel : Rodger, Noah, and either one of his moms. Ive said it before but I will always always say it ; Rodger is his father figure, but both of his moms (which one is technically his childhood bestie’s mother) also give good parental advice. He also listens to Noah bc he’s known Noah since diapers p much.

Charles : Very funnily ; Samuel. Charles thinks Samuel is a lot smarter than everyone implies he is. He’s got a lot of life experience at such a decently young age. He also listens to Rodger ofc ofc, but Charles really values the wisdom that Samuel has- mostly for specific scenarios, but he’s encountered times where he needed Samuel’s advice.

Rodger : Guess what? He goes to FLIP of all people for advice. Because Rodger is on the older side (52yo to be specific), he doesn’t ask for advice from his younger friends. However, Flip is a regular at his bar on the low iykwim. So when Flip’s in the bar, he asks for advice when needed. And bc Flip is, well, a primordial deity, he has enough experience for genuinely good advice.

Flip : He goes to Melissa for advice, since most of his need for support has to deal with handling his emotions. She’s good at pointing out the facts in arguments especially. Despite her younger age, he trusts her advice. Melissa is far more healed than he is, so he’s learning iykwim.

Melissa : Trinity and Trinity’s parents- always and forever. Chosen family for almost a decade, she will always go to them for advice. Besides, they have more literal knowledge than she does.

Emoc : LOOOOVES PDA. Big fan of holding hands especially, but nothing is off the table for him tbh.

Samuel : Generally dislikes PDA unless it’s SPECIFICALLY Emoc. And even then it’s just hugs.

Charles : I mean, he’s not the HUGEST fan, but if he had a partner, he’d be more open to it

Rodger : YES But he also gets VERY flustered. He only allows very very wholesome things.

Flip : OH MY GODS…. He does, but like Rodger, he gets very blushy and flustered. His favorite is like holding hands.

Melissa : She loves PDA, but only the most wholesome kinds. She’s a generally confident person, so she’s never embarrassed.

This is really funny because I empathize with non-sentient things LOL. I would honestly say a good 90% of my ocs do not empathize with non-sentient things.

The ones who would are as follows

- Emoc, but specifically for plants and stuffed animals

- Rodger, but ALSO specifically plants

- Kaz, for all non-sentient objects

- Melissa, for specifically plants

17. Do they like children?

Emoc : I don’t see a lot of children liking it very much, he looks a little like the boogeyman to outsiders/from a distanxe, but I do think he would like children to a certain extent. Probably would love playing games w/ them.

Samuel : … LMAO. He likes kids, and even wants his own someday. Should he? Probably not. Non-canonically he’s really good with Lorenzo’s niece and nephews (of which are children), but I think he’d be a terrible parent. Otherwise? He’s never really around kids. None of his friends have kids, and he doesn’t have any family members that have kids.

Charles : Oh god, where do I start with him? He’s not good with kids, but it’s more because it’s a kind of trigger for him? Kids remind him of his little sister, which then in turn triggers the fuck out of him. I think he’d like kids if he went to therapy.

Rodger : FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD HERE!!!!! Despite how turbulent his life has been, and being a single dad, gods be damned he is a fantastic father. Loving and validating, knows how to talk to kids- All of this to say he does like kids! He actually wants to settle down and have more kids, but he hasn’t met anyone yet.

Jakk : 🧍 Hes an absent dad to more kids than just Ray nd Samuel. Me thinks that gives a good idea. Tho, on a seperate note, I headcanon that hes got a shit ton of demigod children (since all of his children are demigods- yes even Samuel and Ray). I mean, it would be weird if he wasn’t bc hes also the god of fertility?? But yeah. Doesn’t like kids.

Flip : He loves kids, and he has more than one. While he’s not out there using his eyes like a fucking pregnancy beam (a la Jakk), he does have 3 children!! Cassius, Rafael and Floris :) Rafael and Floris are both kids he had with Melissa. Happy married couple with children. Cassius is the result of Flip’s relationship with his past lover, who was notoriously publicly executed. He searched for Cassius for THOUSANDS of years, but gave up because he assumed by then Cassius was dead (he wasnt).

Melissa : Loves kids but loves her kids the most. Shes good with them and loves being a parent. Admittedly tho- raising demon kids is not easy. A lot more energy and chaos. Maybe except for Floris, who is a sweet angel of a kid. Kaz 2.0.

I LIKE THIS ONE BC 90% OF MY OCS DONT HAVE OFFICIAL PARTNERS!!!!

Emoc : PROTECTION. That’s his big thing when it comes to showing love to others. He also “buys” things for his friends, but it’s in the way crows do iykwim. He’ll bring you shiny things ranging from bottle caps or shiny rocks to gold chains and diamond rings. Emoc actually loves giving rings specifically for his closest friend (Samuel and Rodger specifically), but he’s been told not to. Samuel actually gives Emoc an allowance to try and avoid Emoc using his sticky fingers. Another thing is going places with his friends- hes not built for most group settings or public places.

Samuel : Honestly? It’s hard to say. He’s a very generous guy- He particularly likes giving money and buying things for his friends and chosen family, but I honestly think that the crux of it is if he’s willing to do something he wouldn’t usually for his friends,,,, OH AND PHYSICAL AFFECTION!!! He is very physically affectionate with his friends! Hugs r king to him,,, Hes the best in the group at comforting bc of that tbh

Jakk : I believe Ive made it abundantly clear that Jakk is romance adverse, mostly loveless, and pretty much aplatonic (if not u know now) BUT IM INCLUDING HIM FOR A REASON!! For this ; HIS LOVE FOR HIS BROTHER. Very complicated bc they’re literally just the same dude but split into two, but they have a very familial sibling relationship. I think he would destroy the world for his brother??? Most certainly would destroy SOMETHING for him. He’s never really seen Flip necessarily get hurt- Flip is hard to hurt, but there is one time I think is Jakk’s shining moment but,,, NO I SHANT SAY IT. BOOK SPOILERS.

Flip : HOW DO I SAY THIS…. It’s very similar to Emoc in the aspect of Protection. Its also,,, letting someone casually disrespect him. He’s a god, so most people are very respectful when it comes to interacting with him (at least when they know hes a god, which most DO know). If he’s letting you use nicknames, tease him, do anything that isn’t addressing him as a god- ur in his soft spot. It gets to a point where he also gets teasing, but I think he’s only gotten there with?? Melissa??

Rodger : WORRYING. IF HE IS WORRYING ABOUT YOU HE LOVES YOU. He acts very much like the “mom friend” stereotype, plus a little bit of worry wart. Also just generally taking care of someone really. He basically acts as a father stand in for a good handful of his friends, so he takes a kind of parental role. He gives great advice too. Probably the wisest of all my ocs, and I have a bunch of gods under my belt. Hes the kind of friend you call up when you’re drunk and cant drive, iykwim.

betrayal!!!

betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?

Samuel : Non-canonically, Emoc lowkey betrays him (though unknowingly), but has otherwise never been betrayed by those he trusts- which hes also picky about who he trusts. However, he IS the one who does the betraying, though not to his loved ones. It’s mostly like a job to him (ie the betrayal), but he’s not particularly keen on it iykwim? Same way u have a 9-5 that you tolerate for the money, but it’s boring and uninteresting.

Emoc : I mean.. kind of? Sort of? His relationship w/ Alec was really fucked up tbh, so there was definitely a lot of betrayal in there, but otherwise not really. He really only betrayed Alec by picking up and leaving so randomly (like there was no fizzle in their relationship- they honestly probably would’ve dated for much longer if not for Emoc’s current friend group (particularly Samuel). Non-canonically, Samuel finds out Emoc has unknowingly been having a weird situationship with Samuel’s absent dad (Jakk), so that was a betrayal but it’s kinda weird. No one in the friend group even knew Samuel’s dad was alive, let alone that Jakk was said father.

Jakk : Im including him because it’s funny. Mr. HeartBreakerMcGee over here has a history of betraying people. Mostly humans/nonhuman mortals. He kinda doesn’t see mortals, and even some gods on the same level as him, so he doesn’t necessarily care if he hurts anyone that isn’t his brother. I like to think he probably has a lot of demi-god children (like Samuel) of all flavors of mortal, but I literally have made none other than Samuel. He HAS been betrayed before tho- Particularly Absynth, who he both hates and is attracted too (it’s like enemies to lovers except they never become lovers). Absynth was the specific god who split Tique, and Jakk held more of the resentment for the split.

Flip : ULTIMATE RIDE OR DIE. Has not betrayed anyone. He views mortals much higher than Jakk, especially thanks to perspective he got from being around and with Melissa. He has also been betrayed by Absynth (particularly a public execution of a lover, but it is so complicated that it would need its own post). Flip, to a certain extent, got over his betrayal because he understands the “its business, no hard feelings” aspect of what Absynth not only did to him personally, but also, like, with the splitting of Tique.

Absynth : Also included him because it’s funny. As u can imagine, he betrays a lot of people, even his closest loved ones. It’s like a habit for him, if that makes sense? His domain is TRULY over chaos, and In MY opinion, betrayals cause a lot of personal chaos- I could explain this better but not rn (im actually on a stationary bike as I write this, and half of my brain work is going to pedaling). I honestly don’t think he’s felt betrayed before, tho there have been circumstances that people would consider betrayals (such as Jakk’s attempt to murder him- which he finds hilarious and not, like, serious).
