People from the town of Flix (Terres de l'Ebre, Catalonia) celebrating Corpus with flower carpets and the "dancing egg". Photos by manuelbarreroguerrero on Instagram.
In many towns of Catalonia, the tradition for the holiday of Corpus is to decorate the streets of your town with flower petals. Social centres, neighbourhood associations, schools, and other groups get organized to be responsible for a street or part of a street. They choose that year's design, and set to making the flower carpets.
The other tradition that is an icon of Corpus celebrations in Catalonia is the ou com balla (roughly means "dancing egg" in the Catalan language). The egg is emptied through a tiny hole at the bottom, and the empty egg shell is placed on top of a fountain. The fountain is decorated with flowers and cherries, and the inhabitants go for a walk and nip in the garden to see how the fountain's stream makes the egg spin.

I have been feeling like "crafting" something but I never really knew what. I also have some issues with keeping the results of crafting just for the sake of it.
Thanks to @hasgavlebockenburneddownyet who reblogged this tutorial I found the perfect project! A little paper goat to burn!
Tumblr media
Not the most perfectly folded or goat shaped but it'll do! It'll burn! It doesn't have to be perfect!
Tumblr media
A bit of red paper decoration so it looks more like a julbocken.
Tumblr media
And some christmas and azulejo inspired decoration to give it some flair and drain those creative juices. You've probably guessed it by now but I did only decorate one side.
Enjoy the burn :)

cut myself on angel’s hair and baby’s breath // June 15
I’ve been saving these heart-shaped boxes, along with all this stuff, for years, with the plan to glue all the stuff inside the boxes to make an art piece. While sorting through stuff deciding what to pack or get rid of, I decided I couldn’t justify moving this stuff, so I arranged all the stuff inside the boxes, took some photos, and then threw it out.

I have a great & abiding love for ephemeral art forms. Sand paintings. Andy Goldsworthy. Graffiti. & THIS, these PIES! Blessed are we as a species that there are people willing to pour their artistry into something that will quickly vanish.
