The WP team and a chunk of the readership considers Dirk more of a tragic figure.

Mostly in the sense that, it's just like Rose said. "Because I'm not sure the person opening her eyes will be me." With the whole deal with the Ultimate Self sickness, the partitions of Dirk's mind have been broken down. And Dirk's whole arc has always been to strive to push past his bad side and the various iterations of him that seem to have ulterior motives

So with that division gone... Well, Dirk's sense of self has mixed with Bro's and AR's. And by proxy through AR, one could even consider Scratch and English.
