For some reason people really seem to dig this AU so have some more thoughts I had today:

What is Phil's end goal? Wouldn't his parents find out eventually? Yes, but his plan is to have his antique shop up and running and so successful that he'll have enough money to pay for his daily needs + save up the vast sum that his parents spend to send him to school and fund him for a few years. He will then gently break the news to them and give them all their money back as if it were a loan, advising them to leave the estate to his younger sibling/a nephew/other family. That way he's no longer reliant on their money and they can't say he owes them.

Will they be pissed? Definitely. The worst case outcome of this would be that they would completely refuse to speak to him again, which would hurt Phil since he does still love his family, strained as the relationship is. But it's a hurt he's willing to swallow if it means avoiding the golden cage they want to place him in and he'd definitely be miserable with. The best case outcome is that after seething for a bit, they realize Phil is an independent young adult and they can't dissuade him, so they accept his decision, and maybe even come to see the upsides of having a rich son in London with connections 👀👀👀 It is very fashionable...

Techno in this AU is very inspired by Sherlock Holmes (the accurate book version, my beloved), especially in how he's perceived by other characters. Somebody who is eccentric and doesn't care for social conventions and is bluntly honest to the point of rudeness/sarcasm in a way that rubs high society wrong, but in actuality, he's really passionate about the things he does care about and really ride or die for the people he loves, he's just weird about how he expresses his emotions sometimes, making him accidentally come across as cold or standoffish and other times obsessively concerned with specific things to an unsettling degree.

Overall he doesn't care what other people think of him and that is his biggest 'offense' to the average gentleman in Victorian-era England to be honest (in conjunction with like, being born poor lol. Some crimes can never be forgiven /j).

Somebody did mention detective work in the tags and I do think solving crimes/mysteries is one of the many things Techno does do for people, he just applies himself more broadly than Holmes does to other things beyond mystery solving, being more about 'problem solving' in general minus the mystery element. Private investigating would be one of the things he'll do for hire, just not the only one by far. He's also motivated by money and flexing on the aristocracy specifically rather than a more nebulous boredom.

So in other words, some similarities with Sherlock Holmes for sure because I also love those books, but lots of differences too.

Phil originally was intent on Techno just forging some papers for him and maybe joining one dinner with his parents for fake small talk but Techno gets really invested in making up a whole timeline for their fake friendship where they met in university and shared lodgings together, and how they have to fake a location for the factory and investors, etc and Phil is like "is all of that really necessary, mate?" but it helps the bonding along. It also turns out to be quite useful because Phil's parents are waaaaay more nosey than Phil gave them credit for. They have their work cut out for them.

Kristin in this runs a butcher shop in Whitechapel and is one of Techno's contacts (she definitely is involved in local crime networks too) and Phil falls head over heels for her but also knows his parents would absolutely murder him if he brought a lower class girl over for dinner so he's waiting for that whole antique shop thing to pan out first before he introduces her lmao.

The only other character I currently know a role for and would be really funny to have in this is Quackity, who is from a family that used to be upper class but now is solidly middle class (slipping into lower middle class) because of some unlucky streaks, who lives above his station and desperately tries to cling to his wealth and reputation in the high society circles, and who hates Techno so so very much. Like SO much.

This probably falls under 'niche AU that's only interesting to me because I'm a history nerd' but I think Techno would slay in a Victorian era AU, he'd be like a historian / scholar who goes to fancy gentlemen clubs to beat everybody at poker

Finally, I waited so long to drop this request 😭😭 can you do Trickster x male survivor reader who can't scream due to trauma and is extremely touch starved? So that Ji-Woon was all excited to hear the new survivor scream, but the survivor went through childhood trauma and would've always been mentally abused more if he'd make noises like even semi-loud crying, so within the years he kind off de-learned how to scream, even when getting hooked. He also hasn't been hugged in years, so getting carried to the hook by some killers is the most physical touch he got, wich results in him finding comfort in it, especially when Ji-Woon puts his hand on the survivors back to keep him from getting off his shoulder.

Ji-Woon then puts two and two together and realizes that these are childhood trauma reactions and reacts somewhat alongs the line of "wtf did your parents do to you?" and gets the survivor off the hook again.

I know this might be extremely specific, and I could probably write it myself but I'd really like to know how your version of Ji-Woon would react. How he would comfort the survivor, how he would treat him (also in future trials), maybe what he'd think of him.

Trickster with a Male!TouchStarved!Reader that can’t scream

You had a very rough childhood. Physical and mental abuse was never off the table when it came to your guardian. When they hurt you, and you were to cry, it would only make them do it more. Your guardian never cared for you—never hugged you. You learned that screaming and crying only ever resulted in severe punishment. Over the horrible years, you almost forgot how. You were so used to bottling it up to avoid abuse, you hadn’t screamed since you were a child. You didn’t think you even could if you tried

So when you were dragged to the Entity’s realm, hurting you wasn’t all that satisfying for the killers. You would never cry in pain or scream in agony. You kept you whimpers and groans to yourself

The Trickster was very excited to hear your screams. You were the newest survivor and he hadn’t ‘met’ you yet. So he was greatly disappointed when you wouldn’t make much sound when he threw knives at your back. Like, come on! All the other survivors did! Why didn’t you?

The Trickster got close enough to hit you with his bat, effectively downing you. No sounds came from your end, making him angry. The killer thrusted you up and over his shoulder, carrying you to a hook

As sick as it was, you almost found comfort in being carried by the killers. You hadn’t been touched by another person in so long. Though they were taking you to your inevitable doom, you enjoyed the brisk moments of their hands holding your back in place

You kept quiet and relaxed over the Trickster’s shoulder. The other man thought it was quite strange, feeling you be all docile instead of struggling in his grasp. How boring were you? Like, what happened to you before you wound up here?

When the Trickster threw you onto a hook, he studied how you wheezed shrilly. Tears pricked your eyes as you bit your tongue, a habit you had since you were a child. The Trickster frowned, noticing faded scars along your body, as well as how cold it felt to have slung over his shoulder. It made him wonder again, seriously, what happened to you?

Ji-Woon took a step forward and reached a hand up to place on your chest. Your teary eyes tore open to look down at him below you. Though the pain from the hook in your shoulder was blinding, your clothed skin was practically singing from the Trickster’s warm hand against it. He saw the way your miserable expression relaxed as your eyes met his

“Why don’t you scream?” Ji-Woon asked

He heard you try to before, but it came out wheezy and broken

“I just can’t.” You whispered

The Trickster stroked you shirt even so slightly. Your breathing slowed at the action, finding comfort in it through your agony. The other man didn’t take his yellow eyes off you for a second. He hated how he could see the abused, troubled soul behind your pupils

The Trickster sighed, tucking his hands under your armpits and lifting you off the hook. You tried again to scream as it was ripped from your shoulder, but nothing came out. Ji-Woon held you in his arms, peering down at you longingly. He couldn’t believe he just did that, and neither could you

The Trickster sunk to the ground, with you on his lap. You threw you arms around his neck and leaned your head against him. Your bloodstained chest heaved for air as you laid along the other man. The Trickster kept a firm hold around you as well, studying your features. He scarily liked how you melted against him. You were a stuttering mess in his arms. You were just like putty

Ji-Woon couldn’t get you out of his head. He thought about you constantly since that one trial. He didn’t know what happened to you, but he knew that it wasn’t good. He seemed to of formed some kind of twisted obsession with you. He felt very protective, and it killed him to not know where you were as of now

When you met again in another trial, the Trickster was quick to run over to you. He called your name, and it felt so right. It was all he could hear in his head since you told him it, so to finally say it was so fulfilling

He wrapped his arms around you, spinning you in an embrace. Your handsome face lit up with joy at the feeling of being engulfed by him

“Ji-Woon!” You greeted

You didn’t expect this killer you had only met once to be so immediately affectionate with you on your second encounter. But you could’ve cared less. His warm touch was all you needed in this dark world
