Also, I feel like you're the misogynistic one for expecting a female character to do more within a story when in the same story a bunch of other male characters weren't present for a large part of the story and/or barely did much.

Nobara got a freaking eye blown out and was put in a coma. Same energy as Toge and Todo not being involved in the story for a while and showing up in the final battle when they, too, had severe injuries from Shibuya.

Actually she was. Twice.

Yuji asks about her in chapter 144 and again Yuji is the one to bring her up in chapter 210 when he admits to Megumi that he didn't like the idea of her being replaced. Which thinking about it, this was probably also Yuji not accepting the idea of her being dead (which, thank goodness she wasn't). He was probably holding onto the small chance of her surviving that Arata told him about.

Heck, you would also say three times, if counting he does think of her again in chapter 265.

I don't know about you, but Arata shouldn't have mentioned Nobara potentially surviving if that was the case. Heck, I would say Hana not really having a solid place within the story was just reopening Nobara's spot within the main trio.

Even Yuji keeping his fingers covered to trick Sukuna into thinking Rika consumed his last finger could also be used to foreshadow Nobara's return because as we seen her do, it takes using a piece of someone or something for her to use her technique on and twice she had used someone's limb (an arm) to do it.

Sometimes foreshadowing isn't explicit.

While I did wish Nobara had some more involvement in the story, I also think it's absurd that some people expect so much more from female characters but not from male characters. That's the misogynistic part, to clarify.

She was in a coma, woke up and immediately got to work. What more do you expect someone who was in a month long coma and was only awake for like an hour to actually do?

Had Nobara been male none of this would even be up for discussion and you know it.

I feel like sometimes some people in fandoms need to learn when to use the word "misogynistic" just like the words "toxic, queerbait, fraud" and so on.

Is the creator actually misogynistic or was the writing just a bit flawed and the character involved just so happened to be female?

Because if you're thinking it doesn't make sense for Nobara, who again did have a small chance or surviving and if Gojo's ass can survive from Toji's attacks (but Kiya, the healing--- SHE WAS HEALED TOO), to come back after being gone from the narrative for a while then why does it make sense for the male characters to?

Sometimes the writing can also be flawed for male characters but people just like the bypass that.

EDIT: To be more clear, this isn't to say that Gege can't be misogynistic or is.

This is to say, some of the things that some people say when it comes to female characters tend to show that they themselves are misogynistic or is unaware of it.

Again, I get wanting Nobara or any female character having more development and involvement in the story or any story. This is coming from a Takako Uro fan.

However, do you not see the issue of only focusing on a female character for having that lack of being more and not for male characters?

Male characters can have flawed writing and people will still love them. A female character can have flawed writing and people want to expect more just to love her.

And I know Nobara has her fans, I'm one of them. But I feel some fans tend to only focus in her being "hot" and "badass" without considering her backstory, the people in her life and her goals and morals.

I have watched anime recap videos of where someone will focus on what Nobara can do and then say "her backstory bored me so I skipped that". How do you like a character for who they are but not care to see why they are that way?

Which then makes me question, had Nobara not be in a coma and involved in the Culling Games, would you have been interested on how the CG could have brought out other sides of Nobara we haven't see or shaped her? Or you just care to see her be badass?

I feel that now, in light of certain things, is a good time to note that a red lightsaber is not in of itself proof of a sith

Jedi and sith are not the only Force cultures that use lightsabers, they're simply the most common, more than that, a red lightsaber is just a lightsaber with a corrupted crystal, not something unique to the sith, any dark sider can do that, as we see Dagan Gera do, actually he is in fact an example of what would probably be the most common example of a red lightsaber wielder in the pre-movies era, a fallen Jedi, someone who already had a lightsaber and corrupted its crystal after falling in order to symbolize their break from the Jedi

All of this is to say that the Jedi are not being foolish/arrogant/head in the sand/blind/etc if they don't automatically jump to "SITH!" upon encountering someone with a red lightsaber

So, first off, this is not an attempt to kink shame (dubcon and noncon are great!) but I do keep seeing a thing in fics (I do NOT see this irl in kink spaces nearly as often) where like. A character will interrupt the flow of the scene to check consent

And I don't mean in an "are we still green?" Or "what's your color?" kind of way, but I mean. The author has tagged the fic and indicated via prose and/or author notes that they are doing their Due Diligence to make sure this fic is Righteously Consensual from top to bottom, No Question About It

And a character will ask for full sexual consent either directly or indirectly or renegotiate the boundaries of the kinks being practiced AFTER the sex acts have already begun.

Here's the thing: horny brain isn't great at making decisions! irl in kink spaces, there's often a lot of emphasis on negotiating BEFORE the scene begins, perhaps even with a space between negotiation and the scene if it's with a new/unfamiliar partner (maybe it's a few minutes while things are set up, maybe the partners negotiate a day or more in advance! It depends!), and not changing the parameters of the scene after someone is already horny or god forbid already in subspace.

Again, these are perfectly fine rules to break in fiction, when the author is aware of it (most characters are not going to be fully familiar with safe, sane, consensual practices and the traffic light system, nor would we want them to be!) but I'm increasingly finding fics where the author DOESN'T seem aware, which takes a normal fic (in-character, with reasonable but perhaps even somewhat dubious practices, which the author isn't emphasizing or preaching about) into Red Flag Territory (a character, OOC, yanking me out of the scene to behave like a PSA about consent instead of conforming to the horny tone of the scene, and perpetuating unsafe practices anyway)

If you are writing a master manipulator or someone who wants to have a gotcha, you totally said it was okay on a character they are trying to bone (which is well in the realm of non/dubcon) that's fine! This PSA is not aimed at you. But if you are trying to write someone who Cares Strongly About Consent, then perhaps be more aware of when is an appropriate time to escalate the situation (sexually speaking) or ask for consent!

Shepard comes out of his briefing with the Illusive Man a different person than when he went in. Cold, brusque, locked on a target only he can see, like a grenade without a pin. Jacob takes up position on the far side of the conference room table. As if that will somehow minimize the splash damage.

“Seems like we got something,” Jacob observes, as Miranda, Dr. Solus, Vakarian, Massani, and even Jack file in and take up places around the table, where a projection of a planet Jacob isn’t familiar with rotates slowly. Only the krogan is missing.

“Colony in the Traverse lost comms an hour ago.” Shepard speaks into the comm. “Joker, I need a course laid in to get us to the Iera System in Shadow Sea. Right now.”

Jack leans a hip against the table, twirling a mote of dark energy through her fingers, about as far from Miranda as Jacob is from Shepard. If squad cohesion is the goal, Shepard’s got some work to do.

“Uh, that’s a tall order, sir. Iera isn’t exactly next door.”

“I don’t give a shit, Joker. Get me there.”

“Yes, sir.”

“EDI, I need everything you have on the planet Horizon.”

“Downloading requested information to shore party datapads.”   

Jacob flips on his own datapad and opens EDI’s freshly delivered file to do a quick skim. For several of the colony abductions, Freedom’s Progress included, comm failure had been the first sign of trouble. But by the time the silence had been noticed, attempts made to raise them, and scout ships deployed to investigate, they had been far too late to even see a collector, much less stop them.

The Illusive Man had set up monitoring programs for virtually every human colony in the Traverse. Seemed like a monumental amount of resources to spend on what amounted to looking for a needle in a haystack.

…Unless you actually find the needle.

“Long range scans from the Illusive Man don’t show anything in orbit,” Shepard goes on. “We’re going to do our damndest to get there before the collectors make their move.”

Pipe dream, Jacob thinks. He skims through the data. “Population’s over six hundred thousand. If this really is the collectors, it’s the largest colony they’ve hit yet. Could mean numbers.”

“We’ll adapt,” Shepard says flatly.

Miranda taps a nail against the conference room table. At the rate she speed reads, she’s probably already through most of the report. “It has to be the collectors. Human colony in the Traverse, independent from Alliance control. They’re a perfect target. This could be our chance to test the countermeasure and gather some intel on what they’re doing with these colonists.”

“And save more people from abduction,” Jacob prods.

“Of course.”

Solus paces back and forth from his spot beside Shepard, three paces each direction. “Countermeasure ready to be tested. However, if seeker swarm density exceeds test models—”

Shepard cuts him off with a scowl. “We’ll adapt.”

Jack folds her arms across her chest. She hasn’t touched her datapad. “What’ll they give us in a fight?”

“We know they have at least one ship capable of taking out a frigate without breaking a sweat,” Jacob replies. “As for the rest, guess we’re about to find out.”

Garrus swipes at the holo projection of Horizon on the conference table, the reticle of his visor flickering as he adjusts the HUD interface. A rendering of the main colony site map takes the place of the planet. He points a talon at something on the southeastern perimeter. It flashes red.

“Since when do independent human colonies have Alliance AA guns?”

Shepard’s iron gaze flicks away. “Since a few weeks ago, apparently.”

“Is Alliance on the ground?”

The gravity well does a somersault. Jacob’s eye twitches. Like nails on a chalkboard.

“Yes.”

The snake is balled up, that's a stress response, but what's worse is that no reptile should be allowed in the same space as a cat, EVER. There's a bacteria in cat saliva, the slightest nick and that snake is dead. It's deeply irresponsible at best.

If you're going to be posting photos of snakes, you ought to be aware of this.

I was not aware of this so while I appreciate you letting me know and explaining this, I think you could've done so in a less aggressive and accusatory manner. I've stated multiple times that I don't know much about snakes and that I'm learning. This is a gimmick blog and for fun lmao

I’m kinda a hobby dolphin, hopping from one hobby to the next, but I always enjoy a good video game even if I’m terrible at them lol, hence the blog ;)

My special interest right now is overwatch of course :) Both the lore (hanzo, and Cass specifically) and game (I’m a pc player, but I don’t mind playing cross play if you play console!), where I main Ana/kiri/mercy on supp, and Genji, Som and occasionally Sojourn!

As for my main other interests right now, I love RDR2 (Arthur Morgan and the rest of the camp my beloveds), Ena, and Cyberpunk2077! (Takemura I’ll say this til the day I die you should have been a romanceable option. The devs couldn’t handle your raw aura)

As for my other gaming interests, they include: Ghost of Tsushima (although I’m not fully through the game yet so no spoilers pls :>>), Genshin (before the Natlan quest, I’m probs gonna come back to the game after that region is over,,,), Valorent, Apex, and many many more!

And for media based intrests, this includes: Both Spider-verse films, Arcane (only up to season 1 rn), Madoka mágica, Chainsaw man, and Toilet bound haniko kun (…again season 1 only I SWEAR ILL COMEBACK-)

[I won’t lie I don’t watch many films or shows, even the most popular ones, so unless they’re on this list there’s a good 99% chance I’ve never watched it.😭]

I’ll probably update this list in the future as more of my interests develop, so come back every now and then to check :) While I’m not new to tumblr or fandom spaces, I am new to posting, (as well as writing) and have no idea how to do all the fancy text link stuff haha. I might have to edit this in the future if I ever figure it out. ✨
