For anyone curious after having laughed about Bob Dylan Slut! this is a rather scathing review of the 1974 album Planet Waves, I've put my translation under the cut:
The new LP's here: BOB DYLAN THROUGH!
BOB DYLAN: "Planet waves"
The record consists of 10 songs, but 11 tracks, due to "Forever young" having two versions. All songs are written by Dylan. Accompaniment is provided by The Band. Label: Asylum. Price: 35 SEK.
The magic is gone. Bob Dylan is through.
"Knockin' on heavens door" was the last throes of death for Bob Dylan as musician and myth. Along with the former revolutionary and innovator's cheeks growing rounder, his music also grew stale and uninteresting.
The last thing we got on record from Bob Dylan was a hodgepodge of old tapes that were already bad when they were made some years ago. One felt a complete apathy about Bob Dylan.
But then came the tour. And then came the reports of a new (that's right ladies and gents, a new) LP. And one started hoping again. Hoping that something had happened. That the incapacitation was shaken off and that Dylan had regained something of the old spark.
But Planet Waves is pure muck.
Okay, "On a night like this" is one good thing, mostly because it's got a good groove from The Band. And Band does nicely in "Going, going, gone" too.
But after that there's not much left. Dylan's voice is plain and there's love songs of the Woman's Weekly short stories type galore. "Dirge" is the exception. It has heat, power and atmosphere. But it would have been better in a version by Rod Stewart or Alan Price.
Not even the myth of Bob Dylan lasts...

Seven Stupid Reasons to Summon a Demon
Reason #1: lonely
It was a day that started like any other.
Your alarm went off (like always).
You got ready for work (like always).
You commuted (like always).
You did your job for four hours (like always).
Then, it was time for lunch.
Normally, you opt to stay inside “the office” (or wherever it is that you work) and bring something from home to save money. But looking at your lunch — the same thing you eat almost every day — makes you sigh.
You look out the window to the city down below. It was a gloomy morning, but now that it is midday, the sun is starting to shine through the clouds. A beam of sunlight lands on your skin and you enjoy the warmth. The ring on your finger catches the light and you look down at it.
How ridiculous would it be to summon a demon to have lunch with you because you don’t want to eat alone? You banish the thought from your mind. You don’t want to disturb the demon you were thinking of; you are certain he has a lot on his plate (like always) and he wouldn’t appreciate being  bothered with something so trivial (like always).
You sigh and look outside again. Maybe the fresh air will do you some good. You decide to spend your lunch break walking around downtown just because you can. Honestly, you don’t know why you don’t do this more often. You can find a lot of hidden gems this way.
You wander around aimlessly before you happen upon a record store. It's just a little hole-in-the-wall place, mostly unassuming. When you step in, however, you're greeted by a music-lover's paradise. Multi-colored vinyl records, signed band posters, and album covers decorate the walls. The atmosphere is groovy and retro, speaking to a bygone era of funk and flower power. There’s even a disco ball hanging from the ceiling! You take in the scenery for a moment as you stand in the doorway.
“‘Sup.” The guy behind the counter greets you without looking up. “If there’s anything you need help with or want to listen to let me know.” You nod, even though he isn’t looking at you, and go to explore the stacks.
Your fingertips brush past rows and rows of records. You search all your favorite genres, looking out for your favorite bands, and find some gems. You don’t have a lot of money right now, so you can’t go crazy. You twist the ring on your finger as you contemplate what to get.
Actually, now that you think about it…
Maybe you can find something to add to your “special collection”.
See, you were inspired by a certain demon to develop a “cursed” record collection of your own. Since cursed magical items are hard to come by on earth, whenever you find yourself in a place that sells records, you like to check out the classical music section for albums that feature, or are inspired by the devil. It's something you like to share with him and only him. After shuffling through the stacks, you find something you think will work. You smile impishly to yourself, proud of your new purchase.
You make it through the rest of the workday thinking about the record. You aren't going to listen to it just yet; you like to share the experience with the devil himself. It's a good excuse to summon him from the Devildom — well, good enough for you anyway. You like to have a few more albums to listen to before you call him, so you don't feel as guilty for asking him to stay a bit longer.
You take a deep breath when you finally arrive in your quiet room, in your now-still apartment. You place the record on top of the others and take a look around — empty, except for your cat, sleeping peacefully on your bed. You could invite friends over to fill the silence, but your friends are notoriously terrible at last-minute plans. You absentmindedly twist the ring on your finger.
You need something to fill this oppressive quiet, your fingers itch and ache, you have to DO something.
You have to play the piano.
You go out to your living room, where you keep a digital piano. It’s a little fancier than a regular old keyboard but you live in a small apartment and you're not exactly rolling in it so it's the best you can do.
The room is dark.
You hate the silence.
You sit at the bench and flex your fingers, hovering above the black and white keys. No sheet music, right now you just need to play your emotions. You play a low note and listen to it reverberate.
Then a chord.
Then another.
You close your eyes and start improvising a melancholic melody over a haunting chord progression. You are so lost in what you’re creating you don't notice the blue light flooding the dark room. It’s gone almost as soon as it arrived and it brings with it a figure covered in shadow, a figure you also don’t notice. He stands tall in the center of your room, tilting his head to the side as he listens. Once he gathers what happened intuitively, he stands over you, proudly watching you pour your potent emotions into your playing.
You strike a final chord and exhale loudly, ruminating on the final note. You gasp lightly when a teardrop you didn't notice falls from your face onto the keys.
You nearly jump out of your skin when another chord is struck up the piano. The shadow figure reveals himself to be the very demon you were thinking about while playing. Lucifer doesn't look at you as he continues to play a lighter melody. Your hands jump away from the keys and press against the rapidly beating heart in your chest.
He continues to play, not yet sitting. His sketch sounds hopeful, almost as if to say, "I'm glad to have you with me again." He sneaks a glance at you and smirks, finally taking a seat on the bench next to you. You just watch him, absolutely mesmerized, still in shock that he's really in front of you.
He stops playing and looks at the keys closest to you, a signal — it's your turn again. Your melody is more playful than moody this time, there's a lightness now that wasn’t there before. Lucifer responds with something firm and grounded. When it's your turn, you tickle your way closer to his side. He gets lower, too. You scoot closer. From the corner of your eye, you see him smile a little bit wider. In the middle of his turn, you start playing again and together you improvise a beautiful, colorful piece of music together, full of happiness and longing, celebrating each other.
When you can’t contain your excitement any longer, you interrupt the song and throw your arms around him. The force of you throwing your entire body weight at him only pushes him over slightly — he’s quick to catch you in his arms, twisting his torso to face you.
“I can’t believe you’re here,” you say into his neck. It comes out as barely a whisper.
You feel more than hear the chuckle rumble in his chest. “You’re the one who summoned me here.”
You pull back just enough to look at him. “Would you believe me if I said I didn’t do it on purpose?”
He looks at the keys on the digital piano. “Something was calling out to me.”
“I guess I’ve been kinda lonely today… And I was thinking about you… A lot…”
Lucifer hums contentedly, stern lines on his face smoothing out. Obviously, he likes it when you stroke his ego.
You roll your eyes playfully and bury your face in his neck again. “I’m sorry for summoning you by accident, I know you're very busy but…” You play with his tie. “Can you stay here a bit, with me?”
Lucifer sighs softly. You steel yourself for the words you're sure will come out of his mouth, “I can’t” or “Not right now”.
“MC, I don’t think you realize that I want to see you just as much as, if not more so than, you want to see me.” He traces his finger along your jaw and lifts your chin so that you're looking at him. “If I’ve made you think I feel otherwise, that is my fault and I must apologize.”
You feel your heart skip a beat when the Avatar of Pride apologizes to you, a lowly human. You’re in such a state of shock, you don’t know what to say so Lucifer continues to fill the silence. “If I had the ability to summon you to my side whenever I wanted, I can’t say I wouldn’t abuse that power greatly.”
His hand rests at the side of your face, thumb wiping another tear you didn’t even know fell. You got so used to that rowdy house in the Devildom, so full of people and chaos, that coming home to your quiet, little one-bedroom apartment in the human world every day has been wearing you down. More tears start to flow as the weight of your loneliness comes crashing down on you.
You hold him tighter and press your face into his shoulder, hiding in embarrassment. “I’m sorry, I’m such a mess,” you say, laughing.
He chuckles. “Don’t apologize. I appreciate all aspects of you. Even when you are a mess.”
You sit on the piano bench for what you wish was all eternity but is likely only about 10 minutes before you reluctantly untangle yourself from the demon you unwittingly called to this realm.
“Well, since you're here…” You stand, pull him from the bench, and lead him to your bedroom… where you keep your records! You present him with the newest addition to your collection with a wide smile.
He takes it from your hands and looks at the cover thoughtfully. He reads the title out loud, “The Mephisto Waltz & Other 'Satanic' Piano Music Of Franz Liszt - John Ogdon”.
He looks back at you. “Interesting,” he says in the most uninterested tone. You laugh out loud, you thought he might like that.
“Well, if you don’t want to listen to it, I can just-” You reach for the record but he pulls it out of your reach.
“I never said that.”
He walks over to your record player and carefully sets it up while you sit on the edge of your bed. When the music starts up, you're surprised by how fast-paced it is but you're still into it. Luci looks at your desk chair meaningfully then back at you. You scowl and shake your head slightly, tapping the edge of the bed next to you. He smiles and sits down beside you.
You lean against him, sneakily snaking your arms around his middle, and play with one of his hands.
You feel him relax, almost imperceptibly, leaning into your touch. He chuckles, and softly says under his breath, “This brings back memories.”
He closes his eyes and you lift your head to stare at him, left wondering whatever the hell he meant by that. You would ask, but he loves to be intentionally vague whenever you bring up his involvement in the lives of humans from the past.
"This isn't what I thought this song would be," you quietly admit as you play with his gloved fingers.
"Oh?"
"It's called a waltz, so I thought, you know, we would be able to dance to it…"
"You wish to dance with me?" He says in a teasing tone, one that makes your face feel hot.
"WELL, I JUST THOUGHT-"
"That would be fairly amusing…" He says, almost more to himself than to you.
He uses his free hand to lift your chin up so that you're looking at him. If your face wasn't red before, it definitely is now.
"It was a silly idea, we don't-"
"No, no. I believe I would like to dance with you as well."
His smile is rather wolfish as he stands from your bed and pulls you up along with him. The next song on the record starts and it isn't very apt for a dance, either.
"The music-" You begin to protest before Lucifer snaps his finger and the record begins to glow with a blue light. A record scratch abruptly interrupts the music when Chopin's Waltz in A minor, B. 150 starts to flow through the speaker.
He pulls your body to the proper position, one hand on your waist, the other cradling yours. Of course, he'll lead. You roll your eyes playfully.
"Do you remember how to do this?" He asks, amused.
"Pshh, of course I do," you say right before accidentally stepping on his foot. "Oop, sorry."
He chuckles. "Follow my lead."
And you do. You dance around your little room, only stepping on him a few more times before you get the hang of it again. ("It's been a long time, okay??") You twirl and pivot, avoiding tiny obstacles around your room, laughing when you attempt to take the lead by spinning him out and back into your arms.
He finishes the dance by lifting you by the waist and spinning around. You giggle uncontrollably, feeling lighter than you have in months. When he brings you back down, you lace your hands together behind his neck and put your head on his shoulder. The music shifts to something soft that you can slow dance to. His arms tighten around your waist, holding you close as you sway together.
“I really needed this,” you say. “I’ve missed you guys so much.”
You feel him stiffen slightly at the remark. You smile to yourself, delighted that something so small could affect him.
You look up at him, “I’ve missed you most, of course.”
He smiles down at you and the affection you see in his eyes is so genuine, it embarrasses you. “It’s always a pleasure to see you, MC.”
You look down to hide your quickly reddening face. “I wish I could summon you more often but I know you’re very busy. I hope I didn’t interrupt anything important.”
“Oh, yes,” Lucifer hums, as if he has to think hard about what he was doing before this, “I believe I was in a meeting with Lord Diavolo.”
“Lord Diavolo!?” Your eyes widen with panic. You push yourself away to look him straight in his face, hoping he’s just teasing you.
His wolfish grin returns as he smooths down a lock of hair that is out of place on your head. “Yes, but it was one of those frivolous meetings he likes to trick me into. ‘Oh, Lucifer, you must try this bottle of Demonus I found in the depths of the labyrinthine cellar.’ Nothing truly important, I promise.”
Relief quickly washes over you and you relax back into his embrace. “So... I get to keep you a little longer?”
“Tonight?” His hold around you tightens. “You may keep me as long as you wish.”

album 119: funkadelic - maggot brain
Heard it before. It's nice to go back to it after some time
4/5
album 120: flamin' groovies - teenage head
Haven't heard of the band before. I was ready to go "what is this and what is it doing here" but turns out the album is quite alright actually
3/5
album 121: 10cc - sheet music
Heard of 10cc before but this is my first time listening to them and wow! Right up my alley
4/5
album 122: cee-lo green - cee-lo green… is the soul machine
Heard Fuck You before and once again I'm not sure what this album is doing here. It's a well produced early 00s music but really subpar overall. Cee Lo sounds kind of annoying on some songs. And the album is way too long
2/5
album 123: aretha franklin - i never loved a man the way i love you
Heard it before. It's so nice to hear some good soothing music
3/5
album 124: air - moon safari
Heard it before. For some reason I didn't remember anything from the album except for Sexy Boy. But oh man, was it worth listening to the album again. I definitely didn't appreciate it enough the first time round
3/5
youtube
album 125: john zorn - spy vs. spy: the music of ornette coleman
I've heard of John Zorn before in the context of him collaborating with Mike Patton so I knew I'm going to hear some absolutely fucked up music. And I wasn't wrong. I do think this is something people should hear to experience how weird music can get. While it didn't give me a headache I'm still only going to give it 1/5

So today's gonna be a little weirder of a post, I've listened to a lot of new albums but I'm not going to rank their songs individually and instead I'll be giving my thoughts on the overall album and occasionally mentioning a favorite song or if there were any standouts. I want to see if this portrays my thoughts more accurately.
(Bands/artists mentioned below; Slipknot, Pantera, The Cranberries, Black Sabbath, The Cure, Elliot Fullam, RHCP, Megadeth)
Iowa (Slipknot)
Overall Rating, 9.5/10. Compared to their self-titled debut album I enjoyed this one more. I think the entire reason is that it has a more polished sound. Corey's vocals are "smoother" which isn't a word I'd use to describe Slipknot but I think you know what I mean, they had a better idea of what they wanted Slipknot to sound like. Favorite Song:
Far Beyond Driven (Pantera)
Overall Rating, 9/10. I gotta be honest and say there's gonna be a lot of 9/10s today. This is by far my favorite Pantera album so far. I am so grateful I broke the rule of 2 for them. For context I will always listen to 2 albums by a band before declaring if I don't like them. At first I didn't like Vulgar Display Of Power or Cowboys From Hell. Thankfully I gave them another listen about a week later and realized "Damn, this is good". I blame sleep deprivation for all that. But enough about that Far Beyond Driven in my opinion improves on everything and there's not much more to say. It's just a damn good album. Favorite Song:
Bury The Hatchet (The Cranberries)
Overall Rating, 9/10. I'm always excited to listen to another Cranberries album. They're just one of those bands who I feel put a lot of effort into their songs and don't even get me started on the style of them. Bury The Hatchet is better than No Need To Argue but not better than Everyone Else Is Doing It. And the same deal, just a really damn good album. Favorite Song:
Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath)
Overall Rating, 8.5/10. For a first album it's great. Black Sabbath has always been one of my favorites I just love their style and unsurprisingly another album of theirs that I like. My only issue with it is the fact that there're two tracks that include three separate songs each. I don't like it when bands do that but it's not a deal breaker, it's just kind of annoying cause the songs never really play into one another very well but the way I see it I'm not complaining about 9 minutes of just Black Sabbath. Favorite Song(s)?:
Seventeen Seconds (The Cure)
Overall Rating, 9/10. Now normally the way it works is I listen to a band's best albums first because they seem the most appealing and they kind of start disappointing as I continue. The Cure is an exception. Out of the three albums I've listened to so far the first I listened to "Wish" was my least favorite. Seconds this one and the first is Three Imaginary Boys. I like this album quite a bit, the slowness yet "grooviness" of it is very pleasing. Favorite Song:
End Of Ways (Elliot Fullam)
Overall Rating, 9.5/10. This is the only new artist from this lineup and is definitely one of the most tantalizing. At first seeing his Instagram posts I kinda thought nothing of it but the second he pulled out some Nirvana albums in his Vinyl Versus series and the fact he interviewed Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein he had me hooked and so I decided to give him a listen. It's like the slowness of The Cure mixed with I suppose the style of The Strokes? I'm not sure, I've never really listened to something like it. It's very good. I also can't tell if it's impressive that he's this young and already starting what will most likely be a successful music and acting career or the depressing fact that me and him are only 5 years apart in age and he's doing all this and I'm just here doing basically nothing meaningful in my life. Anyways, Favorite Song:
Californiacation (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Overall Rating, 8.5/10. This is not a new album to me. I listened to this album about a month ago and I didn't like it. I liked RHCP cause I liked BSSM but for some reason this album didn't hit the same the first time I listened to it. But just like with Pantera revisiting it made me realize it's really good. I have to say RHCP are one of my favorite bands in terms of style. I'm not sure of the exact description or name for it but the mix between Rock and Funk is insanely good. Favorite Song:
Rust In Peace (Megadeth)
Overall Rating, 8/10. Honestly Megadeth I think has still yet to hook me. Every other band I've listened to is kind of like magic when I listen to them. Megadeth is still really good but I just don't feel that connection like I do with others. I think eventually though there'll be one night where one song just HITS and from then on it'll be something more than just music. Rust In Peace in my opinion is better than Peace Sells But Who's Buying. Just remember that my opinions could change. Favorite Song:
thank you if you read this far, I don't know why my opinion matters that much to you but I appreciate that you care.

Music Tag Game
Okay, so. Rules. Shuffle your On Repeat playlist and post the first 10 tracks, then tag 10 people.
(I don’t have Spotify, so I put my saved songs at YouTube music on shuffle instead.)
I was tagged by @mini-uzzy, @findusinaweek and @krankittoeleven Thank you my dears!
! (The Song Formerly Known As) by the Australian band Regurgitator. A great late 90s pop classic :)
Seaman’s Lullaby by the Aussie hip hop artist Joelistics. One of my all time favourite songs. It has pathos and meaning and is just… like what floating in my brain would be like if that were possible 😆
Fasten Your Seatbelt by Pendulum. Australian drum and bass. Umm… this is surprisingly Aussie biased at this point lol. Also this album is an exception with genre. I’m a hard house guy as far as EDM goes.
Elderly Woman Behind the Counter etc by Pearl Jam. What a timeless wonderful song.
The 1812 by Bond. Background music for living and writing.
Crawling Kingsnake by the Black Keys. I’m surprised TBK took this long to come up. Gods I love this song tho.
Radio Head by Talking Heads - same with these guys tbh! Not the greatest song, but pretty groovy.
Epilogue by ELO. This album (Time) is so brilliant as an album. I listen to it start to finish pretty regularly.
Conversation Piece by Kings of Leon. It’s on Walls, and I’m obsessed with that album. This isn’t my fave song though. Find Me is the crème de la crème.
Season of Saviours by Curse Ov Dialect. Another Aussie hip hop band, this track is weird but also *chefs kiss*.
I don’t think I have ten people to tag, so just a few - no pressure! @whereforartthoumisthios @ainulindaelynn (I hope you didn’t tag me already and I missed it! Edit - dang it you did!) @aeide and @bloodfathers (fully expecting to see your answers no sooner than in six months! 😆)

In my experience, jam bands play a lot of festival sets, but those sets are often a bit weird for jam bands to play. This isn't just a Goose thing, but something I've noticed with multiple other bands I know and love as well. In short, oftentimes festival sets can be sort of disappointing for maniacally insane fans like myself because they tend to be 1) shorter on long-form improv, and 2) focused on whatever the band thinks of as their "hits," which are usually the exact songs longtime fans don't necessarily want to hear for the four-thousandth time.
And, sure, I get it: doing both of those things are sort of the point for an up-and-coming band wanting to entertain a festival audience who might not be particularly interested in them before just happening to wander over the stage randomly while looking for something to do, and you're more likely to convert a new fan with a few short, catchy tunes than a twenty-five minute space jam.
It's kind of an "It is what it is" situation, really. If you're a hardcore fan, it's pretty unlikely that you're going to hear something that totally blows your mind at a Phish, Goose, Billy Strings, etc. festival performance. The only consistent exception I've found to this in my years of listening is JRAD, who always play some of their best shows of the year at weird, mid-tier festivals you've never heard of and every once in awhile take a few hours of our their lives to burn Bonnaroo to the ground.
But I digress.
Goose played the Northlands Music and Arts Festival on 6/14/24, and actually played a show that, as far as I'm concerned, sits a bit above the bar for quality set by the band's June '24 tour overall. In particular, the "Jive Lee" that closes the first set is phenomenal, but that's some other stuff worth listening to as well.
Most of the rest of the first set is pretty straightforward, but the "Earthling Or Alien?" the band played in the second song slot is definitely worth a listen. It gets grungier and louder than most versions of this tune, and features some legitimate 2024-style jamming in spite of being the second song of the show.
So many second sets have been essentially flawless hour-plus suites of music that I've lost count, but this one should be included on that list. There's a perfectly-placed "S.O.S." > "(dawn)" opener, a fantastically funky "Thatch" jam that eventually moves to a jam based around Peter's arpeggiator, one of my favorite (if not my absolute favorite) take on "Wysteria Lane" from 2024, and then a fun cover of The Who's "Eminence Front" into "Feel It Now" and, finally, "Animal" to close out the show.
Shit.
If I had my druthers (what the hell are "druthers"? I don't even know.), I might choose to focus on the "Wysteria" from this show, but I also love the "Jive Lee" as it's a great example of a kind of jamming the band has been doing more and more since Cotter joined that in my own head canon at least I think of as "Egyptology." We'll get there and (maybe) you'll see.
One thing that's fun about "Jive Lee," as the third part of the "Jive Trilogy" (the creatively-named "Jive I" and "Jive II" being the others) is that it's based on the same music motif as the others, but will often only briefly introduce that motif at the song's beginning before veering into improvisation. Especially lately, the band seems to really enjoy literally only playing the motif for something like ten or twenty seconds before veering into weird Type 2 territory.
This version of the song is like that.
They make it about fourteen entire seconds in before giving up on the song's intro, though to be fair the initial jam here is still based around that melody.
Personally, I feel like when Peter starts up a synth drone this early in a jam, it's destined to be good.
For the first minute or so, the whole band lays down a pretty straightforward (if super groovy) funk workout, until around 1:30 Rick starts chording a bit more intentionally. This leads to some awesome back-and-forth between him and Peter on the clavinet. The clav gets super reverb-y, and...yeah. This is pretty immediately great stuff.
It's a bit hard to hear Trevor over the clav here, but he's doing some great stuff as well.
Despite seeming at a few points like it would be impossible for this jam to gain more momentum, it continues to do so for the next few minutes. By 4:15 I'm starting to wonder if the groove has started disintegrating random people in the crowd.
Then, at 4:38, there's a smooth move out of the funk jam and into something that is no less driving, but feels a bit more rock and roll. With Peter off the super-overdriven clav, the drums and bass come to dominate a bit more of the soundscape at this point, though Rick also cranks his guitar into Angry Mode. Everybody's adding some nice flourishes here, but for the next few minutes it's the Rick Show as the band builds momentum and energy.
Then, suddenly, at 7:15, Rick moves into a minor key and we get to the really fun part of this version. In response to the key change, the rest of the band pulls back a bit at 7:22 to make room for new ideas to emerge. Peter goes back to the overdriven clav, but instead of conjuring funk, he conjures EVIL. The synth drone continues in the background. If you're wandering in the fields at Northlands, you begin to wonder what you've just walked into.
At 8:45, the Egyptology jam begins in earnest. Bass, guitar, and keyboards bark out staccato notes, and drums roll out the rhythm darkly. Anubis smiles upon the proceedings.
At around 9:15, Trevor makes an adjustment to his rig, and suddenly it feels like everything else is happening in response to the simple but mesmerizing bassline he's dropping. Between the nine and eleven minute marks, there's a great example of Rick playing a sort of middle role in the jam, not laying completely back into rhythm or textural mode, but playing melody in a way that doesn't take control but just contributes to the overall soundscape, while Peter continues to layer wall after wall of sound on top of each other.
There is, somehow, a slow build of energy happening even here, but simultaneously and counterintuitively, the jam also feels loose and chaotic, five players playing separately but in such a way that it comes together to make one whole.
At 12:40, Peter ratchets up the intensity and the volume of the synth drone, and Rick seems to respond but shredding more and more aggressively. You can't hear the drums all that well in this mix (or at least I can't), but it's worth mentioning how well Cotter and Jeff hold down the beat throughout without ever quite landing on anything that sounds entirely full or predictable. It really adds to this jam's chaotic feeling, and I love it.
Actually, having literally just written that, at 13:29, Cotter finally starts playing something a bit more straightforward, which seems to push the jamming out of the Egyptology mode and toward a new space.
Here, initially at least, Peter and Rick seem to enter a bit of a holding pattern while the rhythm section develops some ideas. Before long, Trevor latches on to a new bassline idea, and then Rick starts chording overtop of it. In response, Peter moves to playing a riff a bit lower down on the electric piano that at first makes me think of the band's version of "Sinnerman," but he backs off of that (a bit) and the jam swerves away from full-on darkness toward something a bit lighter and fluffier, albeit with a little tinge of tension still in there.
Things get a little amorphous at 16:30, and shortly thereafter Rick reintroduces the "Jive" riff. Then, Peter (briefly) reintroduces the synth drone before the whole band pushes toward a reprise of sorts of the "Jive Lee" intro.
The last few minutes of the jam, then, is "just" a straightforward shred-fest over the "Jive" chords, but after that totally bonkers excursion into space, you're not going to find my complaining about the band taking a victory lap here. Plus, we get some "Loose Ends" teases from Trevor and a "Hot Tea" tease from Rick in the process, which is fun.
The composed bit of the ending hits at 20:14, and that's it!
Thanks for giving me an excuse to (yet again) revisit one of my favorite "Jive Lee"s ever (so far)!

Festival Nails: Best Ideas for Music Weekends
Music festivals are a celebration of vibrant style, self-expression, and fun, and your nails should be no exception!
Whether you're rocking out to your favorite band or enjoying the festival atmosphere, having festival-ready nails adds an extra touch of creativity to your look. Here are some of the best nail ideas to make sure your nails shine just as brightly as the music and the crowd.
Tumblr media
1. Bold Neon Designs
Neon colors are synonymous with the energy and excitement of music festivals. Bright pinks, greens, yellows, and oranges pop under the sun and glow under UV lights when you're dancing the night away. Consider using neon polish for a full set or create bold accent nails with geometric shapes, stripes, or abstract patterns. Add a touch of glitter or rhinestones to elevate the look.
Tip: Use a UV or black light topcoat to make your neon nails stand out even more in the dark.
2. Floral and Bohemian Patterns
For a more laid-back vibe that still screams festival chic, floral and bohemian nail designs are a perfect fit. Think intricate flowers, paisley patterns, or mandala-inspired art. You can combine earthy tones with pops of color, like deep reds, oranges, and yellows, to reflect a free-spirited, nature-loving style. A matte finish can make these designs even more subtle yet sophisticated.
Tip: You can create these looks using nail decals or hand-painted designs, depending on how intricate you want them to be.
3. Tie-Dye Nails
Tie-dye is a quintessential festival style, and it works just as well for nails! This playful and colorful design can be created with a mix of bright, complementary colors to give a psychedelic, rainbow effect. Use a sponge or nail art brushes to blend the colors together for a smooth yet groovy tie-dye look.
Tip: To keep your tie-dye nails intact throughout the festival, use a long-lasting topcoat to prevent chipping.
4. Metallic and Chrome Finishes
If you're into futuristic vibes, metallic and chrome nails are the way to go. Think reflective silvers, bold golds, or iridescent blues and purples. These bold finishes will make sure your nails stand out, even in the crowd. To make it even more edgy, combine metallic nails with intricate designs like stars, lightning bolts, or holographic glitter.
Tip: Metallic nail powders can create a mirror-like finish, perfect for evening festival events under the lights.
5. Pastel Skies and Sunset Nails
Capture the beauty of festival sunsets with gradient nails that resemble a pastel sky. Soft pinks, purples, peaches, and blues transition smoothly from one to the next, creating a dreamy sunset effect. You can even add little accents like clouds, stars, or tiny sunbursts for extra creativity.
Tip: Use a sponge to apply the gradient colors for a smooth transition.
6. Funky French Tips
Give the classic French manicure a fun and modern twist by using bold and unexpected colors for the tips. Instead of white, try using neon shades, metallics, or pastel tones. For a more artistic approach, use patterns like chevrons, stripes, or zigzags for the tips, adding extra flair to a traditional design.
Tip: Mix and match colors for a fun, mismatched French tip look.
7. Glittery and Sparkly Nails
If there's one thing festivals are all about, it’s sparkle! Glitter nails are always a fan favorite, and they’re perfect for music weekends. Whether you go for a full-on glitter bomb or just a subtle accent nail, glitter is sure to make your nails shine bright in the festival lights. Try using holographic glitter, chunky glitter, or even textured glitter for added dimension.
Tip: Layer glitter polish over a contrasting base color for a multi-dimensional effect.
8. Artistic Minimalism
Not everyone wants their nails to scream bold patterns, and that's okay! For a more minimalist approach, you can go for subtle designs like tiny dots, fine lines, or simple geometric shapes. This style is perfect if you want something more understated, yet still festival-appropriate. Neutral base colors like white, beige, or clear work well with minimalist nail art.
Tip: Use nail tape or dotting tools to create clean, crisp lines and shapes.
9. Funky Accent Nails
If you're not ready to commit to a full set of designs, try accent nails for a pop of personality. Choose one or two nails to highlight with fun designs like crystals, rhinestones, or even small graphic prints (think music notes, hearts, or smiley faces). This allows you to have fun without overwhelming the entire look.
Tip: Opt for 3D nail art, such as small rhinestones or studs, for an extra glamorous touch.
10. UV/Blacklight Reactive Nails
For ultimate festival fun, try UV-reactive nail polish that glows in blacklight. These polishes come in a variety of colors and give off a mesmerizing glow, perfect for evening performances or raves. You can combine these polishes with other designs, like stars or geometric patterns, for a truly unique and glowing look.
Tip: Make sure to use a UV topcoat for maximum glow intensity.
Final Thoughts
Music weekends are all about expressing your individuality and having fun with your style, and your nails should reflect that spirit! From bold neons to soft gradients and sparkling glitter, there are endless ways to make your nails festival-ready. Experiment with different designs, colors, and textures to find the perfect nail look that matches your festival vibe.
Don’t forget to protect your nails from the elements—whether it’s the sun, dirt, or rain—by applying a long-lasting topcoat for a flawless finish throughout your festival experience. With the right nails, you’ll not only be rocking the music scene but also setting the trend for festival fashion!

Trendsetting Vector Graphic T-Shirt Designs
Tumblr media
Forget the tie-dye and the band tees. A new revolution is taking over the T-shirt world, full of clean lines, bold colors, and a lot of vector power.
Yes, this is the exciting reality of today's fashion landscape, where vector designs for T-shirts are taking fashionistas towards a future where self-expression is both bold and fun. Even so, types of T-shirts are wardrobe staples and there is always scope for experimentation with this everyday clothing.
But with so many trends swirling around, it can be overwhelming for you to know where to start. Fear not! Our design experts here at Cre8iveSkill have summed up some of the hottest vector graphic t-shirt design trends that are going to give you valuable insight into distinctive design ideas.
You can definitely refer to those for designing customized tees that not only match current fashion but also allow you to express yourself creatively, incorporating vector tracing techniques. Let's get straight to them.
Bold And Statement-Making Texts
Tumblr media
Lettering designs are maintaining their dominance in the custom shirt landscape. This is simply because of the way this design trend creates visual impact, evokes emotions, and offers a sense of connection. It's all about saying creatively what you mean.
Designs everywhere are bringing back the colorful styles of retro. So it's not a surprise that there's a big trend among fashion-forward people opting for playful, solid, and structured font styles to achieve impactful, striking, humorous, and retro aesthetics with vector designs for T- T-shirts.
Minimalist Elegance
Tumblr media
In today's fashion scene, minimalism is more than just a trend, it's a philosophy that emphasizes functionality, simplicity also intentionality. And when we are moving more and more toward a minimalistic wardrobe culture, how could casual t-shirts be exceptions?
The combination of clean lines, monochromatic schemes, geometric shapes, and simple typography is gaining popularity. It's truly fascinating to see how the casual vibes of tees merge with the simplistic elegance that everyone enjoys for any occasion.
3D Effects
Tumblr media
Illusions that test the mind, subtle elements, and an infusion of dynamic energy—Indeed, 3D effects are currently trending for tees!
Take a look around, and you'll see how the design trend, empowered by vectors, is infusing a sense of novelty and excitement even into simple t-shirts, whether through abstract patterns or photorealistic illustrations. This offers a great base to realistic 3D effects, from simple gradients to complex geometrical shapes.
When choosing a vector graphic T-shirt design, you should opt for one with simple shapes and clean lines. This helps in achieving realistic 3D effects more easily.
Superhero Themes
Tumblr media
Another notable design trend in vector designs for T-shirts that is taking center stage is all about your favorite heroes.
For both ardent Marvel followers and those who simply enjoy bold visuals, these designs inspired by classic comic icons and modern cinematic characters are like masterpieces, bringing elements of fun and power into everyday clothing
But don't think it's only about fandom! These styles offer a unique blend of elegance and substance. Especially, the bright colors, dynamic poses, and iconic symbols of these characters create eye-catching visuals that make a statement.
Retro Vintage Design
Tumblr media
Don't think this retro revival is just a temporary whim; it's a complete fashion celebration, and your t-shirt collection deserves to be part of it. The nostalgia factor is evident, and this trend in the custom t-shirt segment is a good example that demonstrates how Gen Zers and millennials are embracing various retro styles.
Just imagine the visual appeal and joyous experience brought by psychedelic swirls, groovy fonts, and bold geometric patterns—turning your T-shirt into a pop culture museum on the go. Amidst it all, don't lose sight of the Y2K in recent times.
Certainly, the retro vibes are radiating brighter than disco ball, and using vector designs for T-shirts is just right for capturing that cool mood.
Retro futuristic
Tumblr media
Retro futuristic is not just a nostalgic wave; it's an exciting combination of classic vibes and futuristic flair, all set to jazz up everyday style.
The design theme finely combines classic style with modern lines, creating a visually stunning aesthetic that’s impossible to ignore.
However, the trend largely relies on brilliant color schemes, and this is where the significance of vector graphic T-shirt design comes into play. It helps fashionistas in filling shapes with brilliant colors and gradients, with high accuracy, making your cityscape and metallic robots truly pop against any background. No Space for pixelated planets!
Eco-conscious
Tumblr media
Earth Day isn't just for April anymore. With the spotlight intensifying on nature conservation and sustainability, a passionate chorus of voices is rising. And it's no surprise that eco-conscious designs nowadays are making widespread impact and trendsetters are rocking them that celebrate the planet with every wear.
Nature-inspired elements themes like leaves, ferns, abstract landscapes, and witty slogans are dominating with vector graphics turning tees into vibrant billboards that are sure to inspire onlookers.
And when it's about you, conveying your eco-conscious message can be fun and impactful too! Simply think about blending witty humor with a playful character like a dolphin or capturing the sheer beauty of nature through a sky-inspired design. Just feel free to experiment with elements.
Mental Health
Tumblr media
The philosophy behind this trend is clear —promoting mental well-being all while looking stylish. After all, mental health is the topic that holds widespread appeal nowadays, encouraging individuals to engage in meaningful discussions and share powerful messages of self-love, acceptance, and resilience through various channels and casual wear is one of the favorites.
This popular tee trend is not just limited to making it okay to talk about mental health and expressing support through bold phrases and patterns. It's also about bringing approachability to the issue and adding a sense of humor to the subject with the use of witty slogans and quirky characters in bright, eye-catching colors.
People just love to say things boldly and clearly and powerful quotes like "Mind Matters," "You are not alone" or a tee with a character from "The Office" saying, "Me trying to adult today". These sorts of expressions playfully poke fun at mental health struggles and serve as reminders to onlookers that they are not alone in this crazy thing called life.
The Takeaway
Fashion's not just clothes anymore — it's self-expression. Today, statement-making texts, retro vibes, minimalistic chic, or even designs with deeper meanings like mental health and eco-consciousness are increasingly getting traction and the true beauty of these trends lies in their flexibility to cater to diverse expressions and styles. In this context, vector designs for t-shirts offer wearers scalability, flexibility, and versatility, enabling them to share their thoughts and express themselves with ease. And to help you precisely convert all trendy design concepts into vector formats for flawless T-shirt graphics vector printing, our adept graphic artists at Cre8iveSkill employ the most effective approach, harnessing the power of advanced graphic software and leveraging their deep knowledge.

orchid, tagging off the sage ask— is there a song you feel like perfectly encapsulates a certain feeling (or pairs really well with a certain media?)
Oh yeah pretty much half the time I make a playlist (that isn't just a compilation of a genre) I make it based around songs that very closely match a specific feeling or theme.
The guitar (especially at the 1:44-1:58 minute mark) in the bones of baby dolls by acid bath is one of the bleakest things I've ever heard. Combined with the vocals, the entire song radiates lethargy.
Preacher Man by Fields of the Nephilim always makes me think of neo-western vampires like in Near Dark or (4give me) From Dusk Till Dawn, I'd love to see it in a similar type of flick.
This is obvious given that we're talking about, well, italian doom but A lot of the cheesy, keyboard-loving italodoom like Rituale by L'impero Delle Ombre or Ignis Fatuus by Abysmal Grief goes great with I think argento-esque or old haunted house flicks, cult-related horror, any type of older movie where there's A Tall Guy that Lurks. In a similar vein both Litourgiya and Panihida by Batushka would go well with religious horror of the move medieval variety - I listened to Litourgiya while reading Between Two Fires. Actually now that I think about it that Arachnoid album does have a kinda groovy but creepy atmosphere I'd associate more with rollin-esque movies & some giallo, despite the band being french.
This might just make sense in my brain but music like Cynic's... pretty much anything, The Cube by Supuration ♥, Danse de Noir by Lord Vigo, Warning's s/t are good non-synthwave cyberpunk tunes, I listened to some of them (well, everything except that lord vigo album 'cause that came out in 2020) while playing the shadowrun games. I also strongly associate them with that giger aesthetic ala Dark Seed even if they're not the usual cold industrial sound that's reminiscent of the style.
A lot of the songs in the s/t by pretentious moi (living dead and undecided or one last wish) feel like an encapsulation of that feeling of being in a packed bar or club or out in the park at 2 am drunk off your ass with your friends and a countless of strangers and suddenly getting hit by a flash of clarity, that feeling like you're somehow miles away from everyone else in the room – like you're looking in from the future. I think it's very dancey but has that undercurrent of melancholy.
I could go on forever. Sorry this is mostly albums as opposed to songs, I always have trouble picking just one thing.

ramblin about cracker island and random 'rillaz stuff. it's long & disjointed
i'll start off by saying i think a lot of the songs are jams. this is my intelligent nuanced music take. it's fun, but it's safe, and safe isn't always good or appealing. that being said... i like safe, i like it as much as i like experimental and as much as i like genre pushing. it isn't my favorite album but it's got jams. my favorite from the main album is tarantula and my favorite bonus track is crocadillaz. like, thumbs up
listening to it completely divorced from what the album is meant to be (aka what damon has said) is possible which, maybe i'm missing the cult/worship/new age social media references in some of the songs but i won't write it completely off if i'm not understanding how it tackles the cult theme. not that this is a cracker island exclusive issue i think. but it doesn't do an overarching theme as cleanly as like, Demon Days and The Now Now. but it isn't completely divorced from the theme, like the tired influencer/new gold/cracker island carry the cult ideas to me. baby queen, is so cute, but feels out of place lyrically. but it brings groove to a groovy album... maybe time will tell and it will become more apparent. when i go to rewatch somr MVs frkm Humanz days there's comments like "i didn't realize how real this was until <insert event> happened" maybe that'll happen for this album lol
i think the most egregious thing is del being restricted to a bonus/deluxe release. like come on!!! all of the bonus/deluxe tracks are worthy enough to be in the main album. on top of that, crocadillaz is my favorite from the bonuses, i would be gutted if i spent so much money on their pricey physicals just to learn i can't even listen to crocadillaz on my fancy vinyl especially it being dave of de la soul's first posthumous release?. i'm going to make an aside here - crocadillaz lyrics encompass the idea of celeb cult to me. i think if they went down this path lyrically, even keeping the musical production i would have fallen in love with the album's purpose lol (but that's just fan-brain taking over). i agree when i read wishes for the collaborators to have more of a voice in the songs especially stevie nicks and bootie brown (speaking of bootie brown. his feature in new gold was the one that made me go oh man wish i could hear you better.)
maybe it helps that i wasn't and probably will never be involved in tracking every move the band makes as they release music and building up expectations. i like picking through it later or being told about what's been going on (this phase's info has been relayed to me over the year it took to release by my brother) i decided to make a blog about since i'm back on tumblr for other fandom stuff in 2022, (this is a sideblog!) i loved the band for a long time but my interest wanes and waxes and right now it's in a massive upswing hence this blog and long post. when demon days was releasing is when i was actually aware they're a band and not just some random thing i found off miniclip (re-ups of flash games), i just allowed people to tell me about it instead of getting into the music side, due to loss of internet and life circumstances. i lived outside of the USA for a bit and home life was a bit difficult but coming back to school and seeing demon days TSHIRTS blew my fucking mind lol they were always the 'car game band' to kid me. i was never into the whole 'get SMS from the band/play on the website/forum/go to concerts' stuff. except 19-2000 game. that was a kitchen computer staple. ok i got carried away here. but i'm just saying that i'm a casual fan so take my opinion through that lens. (i do want to see them live one day)
when hearing about the circumstances cracker island was created and released under, i can't feel like it's a black mark on their discography for being a safe pop-y album, if it's something spur of the moment after (another) failed go at the movie then i can get why it sounds unfinished and the art is repetitive. on another note, i don't know why they release music in that fashion (as in, spamming singles for so long. it made me wonder what's going on between label and owner but i'm ignorant of music practices) aside- i do not want a movie i really do not unless they really kept the mockumentary angle! it would be easier even if it was mockumentary bc there's no need to keep all the lore straight lol and it can be flexible. at this point it's been so long that i think, maybe it's time to hang up the hat on that front...
TL;DR: if it was meant to be a pop album it served its purpose well, if it was meant to be commentary on cults that's a bit weaker
here's my thoughts on the loooooore:
my disclaimer here is that i still feel like the gorillaz characters are... characters? mouthpieces? so i don't really care much for the newer interviews being centered around fictional hijinks and less about making music, which was more interesting to me as i'm musically dense... i kind of ignore it and feel like nothing is lost by doing that. i think their marketing is going overboard but times change and you need to beg for streams i guess. i don't see it as completely different as what they always kind of did, as i read that s/t gorillaz was marketed towards youngeee people rather than solely adults and you can see that in the tie-ins and the game and such (and the fact that theyre cartoons!). i just have a chip on my shoulder over tiktok. i sound old but i literally am not, only turning 26 this year... that isn't old. but murdoc is. and grandpa murdoc is kind of funny that's my red flag
i'm reading Rise of the Ogre right now and i'm assuming this is the quality some people wish the interviews would have? i can agree... but. i can't bite my hat over it not being the norm anymore. i think i'd be genuinely put off if the band were actual characters with overarching plots along their entire existence, the whole point is that they're 2D (lol) and you can do things in 2 dimensions that real people can't. they're musicians one day and making cyborgs the next and reanimating the dead and collabing with snoop dogg it's better to play fast and loose IMO. so far ROTO feels like an in-between of band characters and wacky hijinks characters which is nice i guess, but i do really really love the way its written so far. the music chart is gorgeous
the older phases had so many unsavory moments art-wise that i can't line it up to current stuff and wish it was the same as back then, which is probably why i accept "OOC" stuff. like i genuinely think noodle's depiction/description now is better than the early phases. even if the style/form speaks to me more with heavy lineart and grungy mood it was always uncomfortable with the racist depictions. a lot of the stuff surrounding russel seems to be literally interview or book only since i never heard of half of this shit, being a music video only and the occasional concert rip watcher.
so on cracker island story/lore... it does feel OOC. my brief snoop around what the internet feels aboit the album character-wise makes me think it's pointless to rehash why i think it's OOC, but it isn't to the point of ruin, not even close. the older phases 2D (ans the cast) still exists, he isn't a human being thank god and you can do whatever you want with him, it's not like real people who act different and will never be who they were years ago, all iterations of the gorillaz characters exist. they aren't linear characters either and they were never meant for a story with concrete/stable facts, so returning to a point or going to a different point isn't permanent, i kind of felt that was the point. i find it annoying, yes, but it's not damaging to the band as a whole to me so it's more of an annoyance than total destruction of gorillaz theme. on the disuse of characters like russel, that's more annoying to me tbh than 2D being a cutesy ditz
i wanted somewhere to dump all my thoughts after talking about it to friends and my brother, since, i've been 'into' gorillaz for so long, but never was seriously into the characters themselves, so reading all this stuff and falling into it is kind of fun. it's less aggravating to be in the middle of it years after years i bet. the reason this post might sound defensive is influenced by one convo i had where someone laid out all the band's marketing activity for this album which i found cringey, but not the end of the world. interesting because i think i just entered this 'fandom space' when people are gnashing over lore stuff. i think my cerebrospinal fluid is too lukewarm to get affronted aside from things like 'gee wish they kept russel's music appreciation, taxidermy interest, and eloquence'. if you couldn't tell i still like some of the themes of the older iterations!
you can argue that they lost the message of not being sanitized for the masses but... i feel like brand deals kind of impact that message wayyy more, and Do ya thang is one of my favorite tracks and that was to sell some damn shoes, Converse somehow literally still owns the rights to that (?!). plus, fan backlash over mentioning politics in Humanz means you can't really be surprised they're smoothing themselves down more in that department. at least, that's my perspective. my biggest wish is always that i want the creators of the music and owners of these characters to do what they want currently but, i guess i don't know how brands work and how flexible they can be
to wrap this stream of consciousness up, i will say i'm very easy to please music-wise, so there hasn't ever been gorillaz MUSIC where i felt was bad, yeah i'm one of those fans. i'm always ready to admit i'm biased from nostalgia as well as certain songs being released during crazy times of my life. it is difficult even rank my favorite albums because i feel like it's a disservice to put one below the other lol... i like The Fall. i like Humanz for an entirely different reason. my favorite song from gorillaz of all time is White Flag i could shout it from the top of a roof, but then i still like The Now Now as a whole album better than Plastic Beach. i genuinely tuned out to the entire band after Humanz because the backlash hallelujah money got made me so sad... oh what else... i cry so easily to gorillaz tracks. i can't get through TNN without tearing up. i want to make merch for myself since the store is difficult to purchase from and i want some stickers. ok that's all '_' !!! if you read this long/scrolled somehow then here
Tumblr media
(and if you want to reply, i highly encourage it and im open minded to disagreements, i'm posting it in the main tag to get some feelers on opinions or discuss stuff. i'd be replying with my main blog)

My Ash Williams Concepts
Random headcanons I have for this groovy dude!
Things here may contain canon facts,
but most is just personal thoughts from the series.
╔══════ ≪ °❈° ≫ ══════╗
Tumblr media
╚══════ ≪ °❈° ≫ ══════╝
The book sometimes speaks to him. It still begs for conversation despite being sealed in a box or in the trunk. Most sentences beg him to use the book for evil purposes while others try and persuade him into deals for glory and everything sweet. Ash over all ignores it and tries not to think too hard for when it does bring up its words. But sometimes the proposed deals do sound enticing to accept.
Ash was an interesting lover as a young man and still is despite his age. He likes to cuddle but will never speak up about it and he flirts by acting over the top and occasionally strange. Ash will also give his lover praises but will not constantly admit he loves them out of stubbornness. And on the side lines he is scared to be in love. Ash remembers how his past girlfriends were taken away from him and would not want to risk it again. However at the same time he does want somebody to be with. There are lots of conflicting emotions and uncertainties over all.
Ash loves to celebrate the birthdays of everyone except his own. He is the dad of the group after all and he takes secret pride in it with him organizing small parties for when the days arrive. Most of the time he sets up cookouts or takes everyone to a fun spot. Ash also attempts to make the cakes from scratch no matter how messed up they may look.
Pablo gave him a phone at some point and later on a fixed up computer too. Brandy now gets asked a million questions about current trends at times. She does not mind answering them all and also helping him with apps and the likes. Ash just really wants to get in touch with this generation but he will never admit it and sometimes he says really weird memes out loud no matter the returned strange looks.
Maybe in one reality he listens to the book. Ash gives up and realizes that hope is lost for the planet. He decides to become bad and further bring about the apocalypse in exchange for the safety of those he has grown attached to. Ash begins to command armies of deadites and slowly loses himself to the book. His humanity starts to peel away and his former friends have to band together to stop him.
Ash wants to be great dad despite how his father treated him. And sometimes it is plain evident that he is trying too hard to correct his past. Brandy gets asked a lot of times about how her day was and so forth. He also likes to take her to fun places such as the bowling alley for when they do have money available. And for when deadites are not about.
Kelly helped further introduce him to cooking meals. Now he is the cook for the group or at least he tries to be. The others reluctantly go to the store to get the ingredients because he is a lazy bum. Most of his dishes end up burnt but at times they turn out delicious and his favorites are pastas and steaks. Pablo also eats the semi burnt dishes with a gentle smile or at least attempts to in order to be nice.
Ash fidgets with his hands sometimes when nobody is close. He may look like someone who is constantly brave and ready to step headfirst into danger for others. But in reality he can get nervous to the point where he fidgets with his hands and maybe even taps his shoes against the ground too.

Hope you guys liked these headcanons I have!

Tumblr media
Seokjin
let’s get married [SMAU] @hangsangwithbts
Summary: seokjin has no intention of getting married, but after facing tremendous pressure from his family to finally settle down, he comes up with the brilliant idea to fake a marriage. the lucky bride just so happens to be you.
voice mail @joonary
summary: kim seokjin is best known around campus for his romance advisory podcast, voice mail, but to you, he’s just your lovable idiot of a best friend. but when he accidentally lets it slip that he’s fallen for one of your fellow peers, you can’t help but be a little bit curious (and quite frankly, a tad bit jealous).

Not that he thought anyone would be smart enough to put the pieces of the puzzle together with how many people responded to his posts anyway.
snake kisses @peekaboongi

star trek themes ranked by how much i personally enjoy them
tng: its classy its brassy its exciting it makes me want to run around in circles and kick things and whenever i hear it i become an overenthusiastic middle school band conductor. top notch nothing can top it sorry.
tas: literally this fucks so hard? its so groovy im so into it. the only reason its not number one is i could never cry to it but i would cry to the tng theme under the right circumstances
lwd: YEAH BABY! its reminiscent enough of other star trek themes that you know immediately its star trek, but its unique enough that you also know immediately its lwd. it’s bright, its peppy, love it.
tos: i mean its classic, the orchestrals are great, it evokes the sense of wonder and curiosity that star trek’s all about. but the vocal track from seasons 2&3 scared the shit out of me the first time i heard them
voy: this is a very good song, do not get me wrong on this, from a purely song perspective this might be my favorite one. it sounds like a movie soundtrack song that plays at the end of the movie and you recognize it from the start and it makes you emo about how much the characters have grown. but its not quite the kind of song that makes me go “oh fuck yeah its star trek time baby fuck yeah star trek!!!!!!!!” which is what a theme song should be
dsc: this one is also very pretty, and i consider it more of a /theme/ song than voyagers however its ranked lower bc its like. not unique. except for the little homages to the tos theme (which i actually do enjoy cause im a nostalgic bitch) it just sounds like the opening to every third bbc mystery show my mom watches
ds9: i’m gonna get crucified for this but its boring. they added a stronger backbeat in the later seasons which helped but like it’s the elevator music of star trek themes sorry. every single time it plays i zone out.
pic: this is a lullaby and makes me think about the opposite of star trek
ent: oh my fucking god.
(all themes hyperlinked to the show name for your convenience)

What do you know about Bloodnun?
ummm not sure what you mean what i know about them but basically it’s a black metal project between frank and his friend gianni i believe? gianni is @/neverlow on insta but like sometime last year he went priv and soft blocked like every mcr/frank fan except one woman i’m mutuals with it seems? anyway.
this is a vine of the two of them from 2013 i think tattooing BN with a cross on each other. iconic.
they had a cassette that was sold in a VERY limited quantity at possibly death spells shows in 2013?? ik it was 2013 and ds was franks only project he toured with that year so i’m assuming. the cassette is highly sought after by frank collectors. it was rereleased earlier this year i think there were 200 or 300 of them sold. you can listen to the original cassette here on bandcamp.
and then just like last month they released a split with a band called vide. i’ve listened to it and it’s way different from the og cassette there’s like no screaming on the new one it’s just like dark groovy guitar. you can listen to it on bandcamp here.
ummm i think that’s everything i know off the top of my head.

Going on a vacation with the Sawyer twins.🚘
This story again includes my oc Patricia (Chop´s wife)
It´s really not a secret that Chop believes in all kinds of weird things, or to be more specific, all kinds of mystical creatures. Doesn´t matter if it´s aliens👽, fairies🧚‍♀️, elfs that sneak into his room at night to steal his belongings🙄, unicorns🦄, the loch ness monster + other sea monsters and of course sea people.🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️ He´s absolutely convinced that all these creatures are existing and of course, he would love to meet them in person one day. Yes, one of his biggest wishes is actually to get abducted by aliens🛸, cause damn, that would be groovy! Just the thought of being on board of a spaceship for once and having the opportunity to talk to the aliens (if they even understand our language, he´s not sure about this😅) always puts a smile on his face. There are so many things, he would like to ask them. For example, do they like music? Are there any bands or singers on their planet? He would really like to know. But he also knows that an alien abduction is something you don´t really have any influence on. You can´t just stand on a field at night, looking up to the stars⭐ and call for them (believe me, he tried). It doesn´t work this way and so my favorite brother in law realized, that there´s actually nothing he could do, to make his dream come true. The aliens will come to him, when they´re ready for it and until then, all he can do is wait.😞 It´s frustrating, but it is like it is.😩
But even though, he doesn´t have any influence on meeting the aliens, there are still lots of other creatures that are probably easier to find. Like sea people for example. He was already planning a trip to the sea for some time by now, but it was only a few weeks after his wedding, that he finally put this plan into action. Because him and Patricia didn´t went to a honeymoon (mostly due to financial reasons), he suggested that they should now go on a little vacation, just for a few days, preferably to the sea.😉 Of course, Patricia liked the idea, I guess she was glad about having a opportunity to spend a few days alone with her husband, without the rest of the family, or at least, that was probably what she thought at this time, cause in the end things developed a bit differently.
When Chop and his wife told me and Nubbins about their plans, while the four of us were sitting outside on the porch together, Chop suddenly suggested that we should come along. He wanted Nubbins to help him searching for the sea people and even though my dear husband doesn´t believes in them, he immediately agreed, I think it was simply because he liked the prospect of a vacation. To be honest, I wasn´t very fond of the idea, firstly because I found the whole “searching for sea people” idea pretty silly, especially because it would mean that we would have to go along with Chop´s idea of them are actually existing, which would be pretty annoying.🙄 Also, the sea isn´t my prefered destination for a vacation and I just couldn´t help but think, that mine and Nubbins´ presence would be kinda disturbing. Surely, Chop and Patricia would prefer to be alone? Especially because they were newly wedded and it was also their first vacation together. It felt kinda wrong to me, to just accompany them, even though Chop obviously doesn´t mind it, otherwise he wouldn´t have asked us in the first place. Patricia on the other hand, didn´t seemed all too happy, which confirmed my suspicions, but of course, there was nothing I could do about it. My husband had decided that we would accompany Chop and Patricia on their vacation and as always, I had to submit to his will (which is something I usually love to do, but there are exceptions and this was definitely one of them).
Anyways, the matter was decided and so that evening during dinner, we informed the rest of the family about our plans. As expected, Drayton wasn´t happy about it, especially about the fact that Nubbins won´t be home for a while, because he was usually the one who brought the victims home. Also, why would we even need a vacation anyways? It wasn´t like we would do anything in the first place. If someone could really need a vacation, it was surely him. And with this, he started to give us a very long and very boring speech about how he was the one who brought the money home and how neither of us appreciated the effort he made.🙄 That was what we had to listen to for the rest of our meal, but in the end, our grumpy broom man grumpily agreed that we could go on our little vacation, as long as we wouldn´t stay away for too long. That was okay, because we hadn´t planned to stay away for longer than a few days anyway (even though, Chop had warned us that it would might take some time to find the sea people, so me, Patricia and Nubbins should be prepared to be longer away from home than originally planned😅)
The evening before we wanted to leave was spended with packing which was - at least for me - a quite exhausting matter, cause just like the other few times we had left our home for a few days, my husband expected me to pack his bag for him, which I wouldn´t mind if it wasn´t always such an annoying matter. You should know, while I´m busy with packing Nubbins´ things, my dear husband would just lay on our bed and play with his knife🔪, or work on some new bone jewelry🦴 He never gives me any instructions beforehand about what I should pack, but from time to time, he would look up from what he was doing and then he would say things like: “No not - not this shirt. I do - don´t want to ta - take this one with me.” or “Did you pack the - the blue sweater? You - you know the one I found in the las - last victim´s car?” If my answer was “No.” he would give me a reproachful look and ask in a even more reproachful tone: “Why not?” like he expected me to instinctively know which clothes he wanted to take with him and which not. It always results in a fight and of course, this time wasn´t an exception.😩 After we had a ten minutes discussion about a pair of black socks, I simply suggested that, because I´m apparently too stupid to pack his bag for him, he should maybe do it himself, which was of course something he didn´t liked to hear. He told me that he didn´t need to pack his bag himself, because this is what he´ve got me for and the next moment we were both yelling at each other, which then went on for a while, until we both calmed down again, just to get into another argument a few minutes later. This pattern continued until I was finished packing his bag and then I still had to pack my own things, which is also no fun, because just like any other time I had to do this, I couldn´t decide which clothes I wanted to take with me and so it took me quite some time and in the end, I probably packed way too many clothes, but I told myself better too much than too less.🤷‍♀️
We left the next morning, after saying goodbye to the rest of the family. Drayton used the opportunity to give us a “little” speech that we better should behave while being away, because he doesn´t wanted to get a call from the police 👮‍♂️ or something. Listening to him, it almost sounded like he was half expecting us to get arrested🚔, because he made it very clear, that he wouldn´t come to get us out, if we end up at the police department.🙄 Meanwhile, Bubba was almost crying, apparently he didn´t liked the fact that four members of his family would be gone for a few days.😟 Grandpa showed no reaction when we said goodbye to him, I don´t think that he even realized what we were saying.😩
At first our drive went pretty uneventful. Chop turned the radio on full volume, which made it a bit hard to have a decent conversation and we had to stop a few times, so Nubbins could get out of the car and take some pictures of random things.📸 Sometimes he wanted me to get out with him, so he could take some pictures of me standing in front of said random things. I didn´t mind it, because I love to have my picture taken and I absolutely love to pose for my husband, even though I really don´t know why he wanted to take a picture of me standing in front of a sheep flock.🐑🤷‍♀️ All in all, everything went quite well, until after two and a half hour of driving the car suddenly broke just in the middle of nowhere.😮
And now we found ourselves in a really unpleasant situation, because we were suddenly stuck on the side of a road where barely any cars passed by. All we could see around us were fields, the sun was beating down on us🌞 and the next town was too far away to walk there. So I guess you can imagine that none of us was very happy about this new development, especially because we got no idea what we should do now. Nubbins suggested that we should try to hitchhike to the next town, but Chop reminded him that we couldn´t just leave the car here at the side of the road. “Why not? Is no - not like someone could steal - steal it. This fucking junk car doesn´t move a metre anymore.” Obviously my dear husband said the exact wrong thing, because now Chop got really angry and the next minute the two got into an argument, which included the exchange of some very creative insults. Patricia made an attempt to settle the dispute between them, but with very little success. It only resulted in Nubbins telling her to shut up when men are talking, which of course, made Chop even more angry. Meanwhile, I just sat next to my husband in the backseat, looked at the empty road and wished I could be back at home. The whole situation was pretty annoying. I didn´t even wanted to go on this trip in the first place and now I was stuck in the middle of nowhere and had to listen to the twins´ fighting. “Damn, I wish I had stayed at home.” I said it more to myself than to anyone else, but when Nubbins heard me, he immediately nodded his head in agreement and said: “Same. This - this trip sucks. Search - searching for sea people...” He turned back to Chop and added: “You know they don´t even ex - exist, right?” There was shocked silence after this. Everyone was staring at Nubbins in disbelief, I think neither of us could believe that he had actually said this. You should know, we never say something like this to Chop. It´s like some kind of unspoken rule in our house, that we never openly doubt the existence of the mystical creatures he wholeheartly believes in. It´s like a line that you just don´t cross. I mean okay, Drayton is crossing it almost on a daily basis, but that´s different. From Drayton, Chop doesn´t expect any different, but Nubbins is his twin and the two usually support each other with everything, so hearing something like this from him, was of course a shock for Chop and he shook his head vehemently, claiming that this was not true. “They - they do exist.” he emphasized, while he gave Nubbins the most reproachful look, that I have ever seen on his face. Unfortunately, my darling seemed pretty unfazed by it, because he simply continued with his speech: “No, they don´t. And know wha - what? Your elfs a - and fairies are also no - not existing. And there´s also no lo - loch ness monster and th - the aliens...” “Darling.” I interrupted him, before he could finish his sentence and probably say something that would make the situation even worse. I gave him a pleading look, asked him silently to drop this topic, but Nubbins ignored me and simply started again: “The aliens, even if they ex - exist, will ne - never...” He didn´t got to finish his sentence, because I practically jumped on his lap and kissed him.💏 It was the first thing that came to my mind to make him stop and luckily it worked, because he was logically not able to talk while returning the kiss. Unfortunately, that gave Chop an opportunity to get back at him, by saying: “Do - do you kno - know why no one wanna buy you - your pictures? It´s be - because they´re bad. You´re a lou - lousy photographer, you should gi - give it up and throw the camera in the tra - trash.”  This was of course one of the worst things he could say to Nubbins and the reaction came fast. He broke the kiss abruptly and almost shoved me from his lap, while he reached for his knife.🔪 But then he apparently changed his mind, because he stopped in the middle of the movement and instead looked at me. “Get out.” he said abruptly. “Umm... what?” I asked pretty confused. “Get out of the car.” he repeated and even though I got no idea what the sense of this order was, I simply obeyed, opened the door and then got up from his lap and out of the car. Nubbins followed me immediately and as soon as we were both standing outside, he slammed the car door shut, before he grabbed my wrist and without giving any explanation, he leaded me over the empty road. I hurried to keep up with him, while I asked him, now really confused, what he was up to. He then simply explained to me that he had enough of Chop and this stupid trip and that we would go back home right now, we just had to find someone to give us a ride. Of course, I told him that we couldn´t do this, that we couldn´t just leave Chop and Patricia on the side of the road with the broken car. “Let´s try to get to the next town and get help.”  I said, but of course he didn´t wanted to listen. He was way too angry because of the things his brother had said and so it took me a lot of talking and pleading, before he finally agreed with my plan. I had to convince him that Chop didn´t meant what he said, that he only said it because he was angry and of course, I assured him that he was a wonderful photographer and that no one could ever honestly doubt this fact. After a while he seemed a little less upset, but he firmly refused to get back to the car and so I went back alone, to quickly inform Chop and Patricia that we would try to get help, while Nubbins was waiting on the other side of the road.
When I got back to him, we tried to stop a car, which wasn´t easy due to the fact that were barely any cars on the road. But after some time, we were lucky. A old man stopped and when we told him about our problem, he agreed to drive us into the next town and to a car repair shop. Once we had reached our destination, we talked to the car mechanics who worked there and a few minutes later we were back on the road, this time inside of a tow car. Chop and Patricia, who had waited all the while in Chop´s truck, were  both very relieved when we came back with help and once we were all together on the way into the next town, the twins were also able to settle their dispute, much to mine and Patricia´s relief.😌
But the problems shouldn´t end there, because it turned out that it would take a few days to fix the car and until then, we had no other choice than to stay in this town, which was very similar to our hometown. There was barely anything to do and there were also barely any accomodations and therefore it took us quite a while to find a place were we could stay for the next days. When we finally found something, things only got worse, because the four of us all had to share a room🙁 and as this wasn´t already bad enough, it turned out to be a room with bunk beds.😲
Tumblr media
Needless to say, that we weren´t really happy about this, or at least me and Patricia weren´t. Our husbands apparently didn´t even thought about the disadvantages of the whole situation. No, as soon as we entered our room and they saw the bunk beds, they got both pretty excited and immediately climbed into the top bunks. And then they actually laughed about me and Patricia, because we had to take the two bottom bunks.🙄
Let me tell you, the next days weren´t much fun. The room situation left us with very little privacy, which was especially hard for Chop and Patricia, who were newly wedded.😟 Also, sharing a room with both twins turned out to be quite annoying, because these two would talk to each other for almost the whole night, which made it pretty hard for me and Patricia to get any sleep at all.🥱😒 Also, there was barely anything to do in this small town. One evening the four of us went to the movie theater,🎬 but the rest of the time we either stayed in our room, or went on a walk outside. Sometimes me and Nubbins would go alone, leaving Chop and Patricia at our accommodation, other times Chop and Patricia would leave, while we stayed in the room. This way we had at least a bit alone time, even though it wasn´t much.😩
After four days, Chop´s truck was finally fixed, but if you think that we were now able to continue our trip, I´m afraid I have to disappoint you. The cost of repair, as well as the cost of the accommodation left us with barely any money and therefore, we had no other choice than driving back home. But I have to say, it wasn´t so bad. You have to understand that after spending the past four days like we did, none of us was really in the mood to continue our trip. No, we were actually glad to get back home, were we would at least have our own bedrooms. Also, I think I don´t have to emphasize that after this little trip, we won´t plan another vacation anytime soon. Of course, Chop was a little disappointed, because he had no chance to search for the sea people, but a few days after we got back home, Patricia surprised him by wearing a nice mermaid costume. I´m not going to share the details that my sister in law told me in private, but let me just say that her little surprise definitely improved Chop´s mood.😉
(A little note at the end: This was probably the last time that I wrote about Patricia. I wanted to try something new with including a oc into the family and it was really fun to do so, but in the long run, I prefer to keep things as they were before. (Actually, I view the stories which are including her more as some kind of alternate universe.) I want to mention this, so no one will be confused when she´s not mentioned in future posts.)
