I’m actually obsessed with redbull taking their team pics in an abandoned warehouse or whatever that backdrop is. It’s giving Vampire Diaries promo photoshoot😂😂 Also I love how redbull includes all their drivers in stuff like this, I follow redbull more closely than other teams so maybe I’m completely incorrect but I don’t think other teams promote their f2/f3/f1a drivers as much as redbull does. Is that Helmet Marko’s influence bc he’s part of the talent program or whatever or is it more of redbull the energy drink’s influence bc they know how to market their athletes more than other teams bc it’s not just Motorsport that they are sponsoring?
Ok I’m so torn on it. Because on the one hand I was like ok they’re stripping it back to basics, the junkyard dog renegade team vibe is back baby. And then I got sad when I thought wow that’s really them admitting it’s the end of the imperial era where they were as legit as any top team had ever been. And then I was like damn the car must be so bad if they’re leaning on their “rough” image and now…idk where I stand on it.
I feel like more than Helmut it’s red bull’s overall prerogative to promote their young drivers, just be the sheer number that end up in other programs. Plus they cycle through them quite fast so I think they like to have them all “ready to go” in terms of knowing everyone and being media packaged in case of a quick call up. I think it also depends who they have on the roster, because Helmut has called Lindblad the best rb junior he’s seen since Max so I’m sure they will be looking to raise his profile for a very quick f1 entry.
But yeah I think it is partly that red bull know how to do marketing, especially since they sponsor less mainstream sports, they know when and how to use the audience they have to build up lesser known athletes.
