The interesting thing about Face/Off, aside from all the other interesting things about Face/Off, is that it starts at the end of another, nonexistent movie.

We're given a Flashback scene giving us just enough context for the emotionally-charged climactic action fight, and then the emotionally-charged climactic action fight where the villain is defeated, and then our hero goes home to their estranged family to tell them it's over and promise to stop neglecting them now their obsession has concluded.

And then the movie just keeps going. It's its own sequel.
