i think one of the things that rly got me abt the ""wuk lamat discourse"" that rly got me thinking how bad the transphobia of it all was the fact that yoshi p had to step in and ask ppl to stop harassing the va, bc what i mean when i say there's a lot of ppl claiming they're only reasonable criticizers but only show up when transphobia is mentioned was the amount of ppl who were all over themselves saying in comments and replies STILL talking about how much they disliked her and her writing and getting angry when ppl were 'calling them transphobic'

like, the entire discussion was about the va getting death threats from ppl (who are clearly transphobic) but YOU were the one unable to resist opening your mouth ad nauseum abt how you hate wuk lamat under a post abt her va being threatened and harassed like if you're supposedly not the hit dog why are u hollering so much 😭😭

sorry for oc rambling but my brain has been running at 100 the whole day

i think one of the things that really resonated with me about orb is something that i literally toy with on occasion when i write mei. the idea of peoples stories existing and even having breakthroughs but being lost to time. it's probably something i would never fully implement to their character since mei's ffxiv-verse is a collaborative effort, and y'know, we gotta give ash and mei their beautiful lovely ending together, but the residue of the ideals are still there when i write it.

mei has always had weak aether, descending from niuniu who was apart of experiments from the ancients who ended up gaining souls, it's constantly referred to that mei, aetherically, seems like they could be snuffed out like a candle at any time. in the alternate timeline that graha saw, mei was remembered by only a select few, and not by name, and when they were gone, would mei too disappear? their shards are similarly small, forgotten besides by a few people, but persistent, and it's like a race against time. how long can they last?

parts of me have an idea in my head that mei's aether is not long for this world, and when they pass, it may not be long before it disperses for it's final time, like little grains of sand scattering away in the wind.

since i had two of the free fantasias i fanta'd mei to fem!miqo since i figured plugins would take awhile for my prefpro and i honestly forgot how much of a cutie patootie they were in fem!miqo form

i dc'ed twice while doing the newest dungeon and they gave me a dog as compensation

you know with the new changes to the ffxiv blacklist that reminds me of something funny that happened semi-recently to me:

so i dont really blacklist people in game like...ever. not out of some weird superiority or morals or anything, truthfully im just too lazy. ive been lucky enough that ire has never been directed towards me so if I'm in a duty with a shithead i just sort of forget when i leave the duty

so imagine my surprise when i enter jeuno, and i see that our tank is....blocked. I'm playing with friends mind you, and I'm the only one who has the person blocked. I'm confused as hell, because they tell me the guy's name, i even look them up on lodestone, no clue who this guy is. afterwards i look at my blacklist. bro is the SINGULAR person on my blacklist. and i couldn't fucking tell you what they did to cause me to actually bother to use the blacklist feature and it still haunts me to this day

if theres one thing i could complain abt with ffxiv's new mogpendium thing is that i WISH it would scale down to match the character's story progression or something bc outside of the few standard objectives i can spam i cant do like literally anything else on my alts lol. yun has only gotten some items by the grace of god (me earning it on my main and just passing it along to him)

not to yap about my ffxiv OCs on main for a moment but me and my friends sometimes joke that a lot of mei's old traits from early on were transferred to ahqing after i made her a fleshed out character but no!! that's the whole thing! mei and ahqing always had very similar core personalities, it's just that life happened! i always iterate that mei grew up malnourished, and then later on since they're 9 years older than their sister and have kids now that they give off the air of the mature, motherly one, but like? if mei had not grown up neglected and malnourished, they would legitimately be as much of a riot fighter, throw a punch then ask questions type as their sister. like in another life they would absolutely be a warrior with a big axe

that's why dawntrail is so fun esp the raid tier bc that's legit mei reaching back to that 'house cat that believes it can fight a lion' energy that they always had bubbling beneath the surface bc yes! ash did have to hold them back from roundhouse kicking honey b lovely!

another expac where i end up leveling fisher to 100 before i even get my main battle job to 100 (though it was pretty close, reaper is at 98 right now)

i'm really glad that mei turned out still very cute, i was worried since everyone seems to be 50/50 either absolutely loving or hating how their character looks like with the new graphics update
