Fandom Problem #5124:
The hypocrisy of furries who are anti loli/shotacon is so funny. If loli/shota is "pedophilia" for "sexualizing children", why isn't furry porn "sexualizing animals" and thus zoophilia?
"It's TOTALLY DIFFERENT because a cartoon wolf looks nothing like a real wolf!" Sort of like how anime children look nothing like real children? "THAT'S DIFFERENT!! It's still a representation of a child so it's still WRONG!" Okay and a cartoon wolf is still a representation of an animal. Isn't a furry genuinely arguing that liking loli means wanting to have sex with real children, basically an admission to wanting to have sex with a real animal?
The argument could go in circles for hours, I've seen it happen on Twitter all the time and I've never seen an actual reasonable explanation for the difference other than "IT'S JUST DIFFERENT!!" (To be clear I'm not anti either, neither of them are my thing it's just funny to watch furries gag in horror over lolicon with absolutely no self awareness. It's okay to be weirded out or think it's gross, but it doesn't make you any more moral.)

Star Trek Masterlist
I - sadly - do not have near as many Star Trek fics as I do a certain other fandom (I think mostly cause i’m scared to write Star Trek. Science scares me, lol, and I can’t see myself putting them into AU worlds as easily as I do to the SPN folks) but here’s everything I got.
In order of posting: (NEARLY all these fics is straight up McKirk - ALL are SFW)
1 -Running Boldly Forward
First Star Trek ever fanfic, also one of THE FIRST I ever put up on AO3 - I still don’t quite know where this idea came from but I’ve always loved it.
Fandoms: Star Trek Original Series, Star Trek Next Generation, Doctor Who
Words: 6665  Pictures - no Summary: The Doctor unintentionally crosses dimensions and lands on board the Enterprise and leaves just as quickly, leaving behind a whirlwind of confusion….then he does it again.
2 - Two Makes One
Written for a generic soulmate prompt - second time ever writing Trek, first time ever writing McKirk
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS Words: 7003  Pictures - yes
Summary: Soul Mates are rare, so rare that even having heard the stories about them as a child when most others didn’t even know the stories ever existed, Leonard McCoy completely forgot about them.
Decades later, and he’s forgotten the signs, doesn’t understand whats happening until it’s too late. He’s fallen too deep for one Captain James T. Kirk.
That should make him happy right? Problem is, Leonard doesn’t believe he deserves this.
3 - The Church of the Holy MacGyver
So, this is probably crack? What qualifies something as crack? It was a fun little idea anyway.
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS, After Star Trek Beyond (Canon Compliant) Words: 1027  Pictures - yes Summary: Jaylah discovers the old TV show MacGyver and admires him greatly. Scotty’s not too sure about this.
Just a fun, quick little drabble (its just over 1000 words, that counts as a drabble right?) Based off a post I saw on Tumblr (It’s always Tumblrs fault, ever notice that?)
4 - Crossing Fantasies
Another crossover idea. It actually came about because I saw an SPN Season 1 clip really, really fast and thought it was Karl Urban. it was Jensen Ackles. This wound up having nothing to do with that clip, but I knew I had to do SOMETHING that combined them.
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS (mention of Star Trek Original series), Supernatural Crossover Words: 6839 Pictures : no
Summary: Dean’s minding his own business in the bunker when 3 very impossible people show up in his room amid a glory of sparkles.
There’s no way he could be facing down Captain James T. Kirk, Doctor McCoy and Commander Spock - they’re fictional characters from a TV show for fucks sake, right?
So why was he holding a gun on the very real presence of three strangers claiming to be just that in his own bedroom at a supposedly impervious Bunker? Pictures - in process
5 - Dammit Jim, I’m a Doctor, Not a Ghostbuster!
Written for a challenge prompt
Fandoms: Star Trek
Words: 3232 Pictures Yes
Summary: Mistletoe keeps following the Doctor everywhere on the Enterprise and he’s getting sick and tired of it. He hasn’t quite caught on to where it’s coming from or what the pattern is but his refusal to just kiss his Captain already is putting a serious crimp in the plans of a couple of really invested ghosts…not to mention hurting the captain…
6- Do You Wanna Build a snowma - Dammit, Jim, No I Don’t!
Written for a challenge prompt
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS
Words: 5124 Pictures : Yes Summary: Leonard McCoy wasn’t entirely sure how he’d been roped into this, but here he was building a snowman on some random planet because the Captain thought they could all use a morale booster.
By the time they’re done making their snowman, Leonard no longer begrudged the Captain for insisting on this particular activity.
or
How Bones’ First Snowman Leads to McKirk
7- The McCoy Files:
A series of loosely connected shorts.
1 -  Confessions With Your Doppelganger Fandoms: Star Trek AOS and Star Trek Original series
Words:  1139 Pictures YES! Summary: What would it be like if the McCoy from one universe/dimension/alternate reality was able to interact with another McCoy?
You’d think something like that would drive you insane, but Leonard’s certain talking to his almost-double helps him from diving off the deep end.
2 - Accidental Marraige my first tumblr prompt for Star Trek! Yay!!!
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS
Words:  1221 Summary:   In their equally messed up lives, getting married by accident certainly fit right in.
3  - Old Fashioned Card Games
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS
Words:  1198 Summary: Something has caught Dr. McCoys attention and Jim wants to know what it is.
8 - Tumblr Kiss Prompt: Angry Kiss - McKirk
That needs a better title, doesn’t it?
Fandoms: Star Trek AOS
Words: 1513 Summary: Sometimes being Kirk’s roommate at the Academy isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Or…not. Leonard never expected his day to end like this.

5124:
The comments are reminding me of a problem I've seen a lot online about consent regarding fictional characters. There is consent in fictional media, but it's not between the characters themselves or the characters and the creator. It's between the creator and the person who sees it.
The creator, when they put their work out into the world, consents to other people seeing it. You, as a person on the internet, consent to the fact that sometimes you run across things on the interntet that make you uncomfortable. Weather it's because someone didn't tag something they probably shoud have, because you didn't block a tag, or because you clicked on a link you really shouldn't have, you'll probably run across something you don't like. By being on the internet, you need to understand and accept that this is how it is. If something makes you uncomfortable, don't engage with it. scroll past, click the back button, or block whoever made it. If you actively seek out media or ignore warnings of something that makes you uncomfortable, then you are consenting to seeing it and have no right to complain to the creator about it's existance. You wouldn't go into a seafood resturaunt with a shellfish allergy and get mad that they serve shrimp. You just wouldn't go. If someone forces you to see content that they know makes you uncomfortable, then you don't consent and they're an asshole. But in that case it's still not the fault of the creator or the content itself, it's the fault of the person that made you see it without your consent.
So, if the person that created it consent and the person who sees it consent, then what about the characters depicted in it? Well, the characters in a piece of fictional media can't consent in the same way a dildo can't consent. They're not a person, they have no brain. The consent is between the parties involved that do have brains. It doesn't matter that if they were real they couldn't consent, because they're not real. Putting content of fictional characters on the same level as things that hurt real living people does far more harm than good, due to muddying definitions and accusations. If someone accuses a creator of being a pedophile, I have no way of knowing if they've done things that have actually harmed real children, or they just like art of a cartoon character. I shouldn't have to say why that's a problem. I know the people who do that probably won't bother to read this, but if you do please stop and think about the harm you're doing. If you really do want to stop people from abusing children, than practice what you preach and stop taking airspace away from actual victims.
(also, does that one guy in the comments know that rape kinks are super common and like, half of the population has one? I feel like they should know that.)

About problem 5124: Yeah, and that is why I moved away from the furry community as a whole. There are still toxic anti-furry people online who would insinuate that furries want to screw real life animals just because they drew or liked a sexual drawing of Krystal from Star Fox and will generalize furries as zoophiles because of what Kero the Wolf did to his dog. (Look him up on YouTube at your own discretion)
Furries are a fandom that gets attacked by people just because they make content they don’t like and think that ALL of it is sexual, and here they are, zero self awareness whatsoever attacking a different fictional fetish that is just as degenerate or worse depending on who you are.
This is by no means is an encouragement of name-calling or harassing people over this, in fact NO ONE should be doing that.
Furries should know how it feels to be accused of something very serious when it’s being done to someone else but nah. Drawing an explicit picture of an anthro wolf screwing another anthro wolf is “different,” but a sexual drawing of an anime character who is young and just has no curves is where they draw the line.
The ONLY correct stance to take on this is, “I don’t like this or that, but they’re both fictional and are not real life people or animals, so why are we even wasting our time and energy on this?”
I say all of this as someone who does not like lolicon or shotacon and prefers not to see it or any underage characters being sexualized.

Not even arguing with you but as an female asian lolicon, thats not completely correct either lol
Loli is a body type and a character archetype. Cute and petite, and it really shouldn't be surprising that it's popular in asian countries where most of the women are at or under 5ft, have flat or petite body types, and make considerable effort to appear young and cute. Westerners refusal to understand this is largely rooted in xenophobia and racism towards asians. Like i could show antis a picture Seeuxiaorou, a married grown woman (30+)with children, and they will call her a child and her husband a predator.
"fetishization of cuteness" is not a great description of moe, but honestly there isnt a great way to describe moe in english in a way antis will understand. Antis all just think that if someone likes something antis believe is related to children in anyway it makes that person an irl predator, or will become one.
Regardless of why a lolicon likes loli, we all agree it's just fiction. They aren't real. And as someone who hates kids irl, and uses loli to cope with trauma and express myself as an asian woman, im not gonna listen to some western weirdos about shit they know nothing about. If someone can't acknowledge that something is fictional and tells you nothing about a person irl, no matter what it is, then they are just not worth arguing with.

(Not a problem, just making an observation.)
753925162868588544 Someone on this post was claiming certain fictional things are 'not the same' ie more morally repugnant and questionable than others. And I checked out their blog and saw a post going, 'Wait!!! Have you remembered to sexualise and lust after a morally repugnant fictional character today??'
Just want to point out the obvious here, and how hypocritical posting something like that is. If you can post about being in love with a morally repugnant character, which you would never support in real life, it truly shouldn't be a reach to also assume the people who lust over other fictional characters, or people in fictional settings, would not actually pursue similar relationships in real life. It truly shouldn't. It is all fictional.

lolis are Not representative of children lmao. have you considered actually talking to the people you're talking about? it is very well documented that lolicon is a fetishization of cuteness rather than youth. im not even a lolicon and i know this.

This. Especially the last paragraph. I don't care how "close" something fictional looks to reality. Fictional places, people, things often look identical to what exists in reality. The fact remains those are fictional - FICTIONAL - scenarios. It genuinely boggles my mind how people can't wrap their heads around that. It doesn't matter what kind of fiction is happening under the fictional umbrella, it is still just FICTION. And while certain IRL contexts may render certain kinds of fiction more "questionable" (looking at JKR's mess of releases since they're full of bigoted shit), you cannot extrapolate or impose motives on individual people simply from looking at the fiction they read or write or watch. People are curious, people like other aspects of the fiction, people have fantasies, people like escapism, people get thrills from scary, fucked up shit. Big. Deal.

5124 - tbh i think some of the disconnect is because people usually associate furries with being young, queer, and / or neurodivergent, (and thus automatically sympathetic), but lolicons are stereotyped as being "middle-aged basement dwelling neckbeard" types
So people view it as "undeserved bullying" versus "justified bullying"

#5124 Aight bet. I'm not a furry but I've been around people who are for a long time and I'll tell you the difference. Loli and shota are representative of children. They look like kids. They act like kids. They're dressed as kids. They are meant to be children and nothing else. Furrys are not representative of animals because they're more human. Unlike actual animals furries can pretty much do whatever a human can and regular animals can't. Usually shown as adults. That's the difference. Of course there's the....feral portion of the fandom but that's a whole different issue. Anyway, the idea that you're equating the two is some mental hurdles when fantasy creatures have been a thing for decades. I don't know who told you that basic furry porn was equal to zoophilia but it's wrong.

#5124 , Hi sorry the thing isn't letting me use the link here for the response my response got but I'm the one that said, 'aight bet' I just wanted to reply to the nice person who gave me a bit more context, I see where I got the idea of Lolicon wrong. Thank you for explaining it to me! It's always interesting how other cultures work and it seems like I need to do better research rather than just leaning on my anime and western online debates. Though I will say I do have to disagree with you on fiction just being fiction to a degree, though its far more complicated and definitely not 100% a way to judge is someone is a creep or not and deserves far more nuance that I don't want to get into (Hell I'm into some dark stuff). However I just wanted to say thank you for being nice in your response and giving me more context!

754037550790868992 The butthurt response in the comments just kinda proves the anon's point ngl. People are sending asks because that's what they do on this blog, they read things and want to share their opinions? Is there an expiry date for engaging in a convo about a certain problem or something? How is it weird people are sending in things? What is the logic?? Is there any logic?? Or is this just an odd way of trying to shut down anyone else who wants to opine on a topic? I can't even lol
